"To get a push on him. And wouldn't you're able to account for two players on the offense of line at once. You're going to be successful in stopping the run. That is the biggest part of a nose tackle. Or one techniques game is being able to account for two players in the double team. And that's what he does. Cohen he plays with. Plus he plays with a little bit of of giddy up. Yeah. He's he's he's got. He's not Nick Hayden. You know, we saw him for years kinda just eat up staying there in the middle of the line. And he gets in the backfield quite a bit. You know, like, it's he's not going to be a big sack guy because he's not super super explosive, but with his strength, and with that little bit explosiveness that he has he's able to get in the backfield pocket a lot, and you know, maybe flush somebody out or whatever. But he he does you know, he's got that surprising. Little bit of like, you're talking about coal. What what are you got on defense that really stood out to you? And either a positive or negative way. Yeah. Don, kind of touch, and when I was gonna say it's far as Cheeto in Antoine. Would you like to see Cheeto makes him play is by turning his head because I feel like he's usually pretty good position. But he doesn't turn his head vast. No free doesn't locate the bull. Jiffy could just do this to Richard more plays a game, and they can potentially make Antoine woods. Obviously, a friend of the show. He's spent a places row perfectly. Use a guy that you'd like to see continue turning upwards in his playoff run another guy. I like him. Osce Jalen Smith. I kind of touch on the on the first drive or he kinda spied. Russell Wilson deflected. The ball. With between him in lane. Vander ash Cowboys have someone speed at linebacker position. And. Matchup last year against the Rams. You couldn't really say that Jaylen Smith was obviously still recovering from his injury of Wei-min or after still Boise state eight so the Rams were able to exploit that a little bit. So I decided cow Jalen Smith speed is makes his defense a whole lot better in really more fun to watch to be Frank. There was a lot to like off see. So we'll talk about the run defense later. But. It's as they can shore up the big plays. I guess that might be because mean, mentally, they probably got the game is over there that was right or wrong. They gave it that big play to Russia. Whoa. Saying some as good as a guy that can make these kind of throws. He's like on that fourth down play. On that play down the sideline to lock it and Baldwin near both really get throws in. So I was really impressed. Nothing is kinda like what Dalton was touch on earlier in the show. Playoff boss different. I think that she's the Cowboys will based on how good is defense is. Grew with everything you guys said, we're gonna take our final break come back. I wanna talk about what what I in my opinion. I think we ought three of us have talked about the deciding factor in this game was one team was able to run the ball. One team was not we're gonna spend a few minutes on that before we get out of here. We're talking the star. We'll be right back for final break..

"And then you move to the other side of the ball. And if that's the case can indeed defense do enough against the Shawn Watson in that crew. And I don't know if they can. So they're going to be seeing a lot of zone, and they're gonna be seeing a lot of off coverage. And the question is candy. Shawn Watson and Deandra Hopkins. Take advantage of those holes, and they have in the past when you give the Andre Hopkins room to work. It's not going to go. Well, so I don't know. I it's a very tight to me. But I. Still think at home Houston's a better team. Yeah. I'm honestly think it's going to come down to allay turnover a bad call or one call or whatever it is. I'm gonna pick Indianapolis. But I'm not exactly confident. It's going to be number four four for me as far as confidence. All right. Let's get to see hawks Cowboys. Another kind of just can't fascinating match up. The has Awada stuff that I think again, one bounce the ball one element of the game could go either way first thing, I'm thinking about this. If you're Seattle you wanted to to thanks to run the ball. You wanna throw the ball down the field. I think both of those are going to be difficult. So I just think overall this game is going to be pretty low scoring and points are going to be pretty hard to come by. That's really my only feel I have for this. Okay. So here's a match up that I'm really interested. I saw a stat this week. Did you see the Bobby Wagner is over the last? I think since his crew started. Is he misses a tackle less than one percent of the time, which is by far by far the best Mark in the league out of anybody on the defense? And is equal Elliott gets more yards ever contacts. Anybody in the NFL? And I just I'm just intrigued because there's a couple of these this weekend. Where obviously we're going to see the future of the NFL that that whole that whole stick next week when the chiefs and the saints those sort of teams in the Rams, no sorta teams get involved, but we're going to kinda see some old school football this weekend. And I'm really see guys like Bobby Wagner guys like late and Vander ash guys. Like Zico Elliott the three running backs obviously on on Seattle. And I'm starting to just get a little bit amped because we haven't had a lot of that in two thousand eighteen and I'm kinda as Kevin O'Connor would say I'm pumped in jacked. I am as well. And I think this again, this is simplistic way of looking at it. But I feel like these passing games. Neither a really set up to take advantage of the other because the Dallas past defense is pretty solid and I think their corners are good enough to give Seattle some issues on the outside. I think on the other side of the ball. Seattle's pass defense hasn't been great all season. But you don't necessarily have a passing gain that could take advantage of that. And with those circumstances, I'm tempted to give the edge to the better quarterback. And I just think they're in the better code short that we go both of those ways. And I think I'm just I feel good about Russell Wilson here. And the other side of it is how healthy is Dallas is offensive line. Because if Seattle can take advantage of front flanked crock is going against a Tyron Smith isn't a one hundred percent healthy or close to it. I think that's another element to this. So as I look at it I do. Seattle is going to have trouble moving the ball. But if the slog is pretty tough, I still I'm just betting on Russell Wilson and kind of high leverage moments and he's come through in those pretty much all season. It's not as if the Seattle team is creating lots of separation, and they're really out scheming people this season and their ability to move the ball through the air is pretty much. Russell Wilson doing crazy things in fitting the ball into tight windows, and I don't understand why that's going to change. Yup. Totally agree. And you know, I had to mankind's on slow news day today, which is making its triumphant return for the first time in eleven tomorrow rate here, we were talking about Brian, Sean Heimer, and we were joking. I don't know how much this will get in..

"That's what you like to see moving forward. What you show me? He's ready for the playoffs. So you're getting scared. No, no. Whenever blue that. See this team going farther and farther and farther in the plant. Why can fix up the pray? I gave that he was grudging praise with through clinch t around the president of the cowboy haters fan club. And finally said, well, I got to give him a little bit of price. He can't throw it from the pocket. But when he gets outside the bucket. He's really good. That's not what I say. That's what my turn. Thank you very much. So Jason Garrett did a really dumb thing yesterday that Dak Prescott turned into a really great thing. Because Jason call it wouldn't Jerry's called are you? Sure. Okay. Let's do this Jason. And Jerry did a really dumb thing. Or if you want just Jerry really dumb thing. But obviously, it was said all week that Ezekiel Elliott was not going to play. And it was pretty clear all week that Zack Martin and then Tyron Smith were not going to play. And then to a feel got hurt early in the game. He was gone. So you're down three starting offense of linemen and you wind up leading your quarterback play the entire game of an entirely meaningless football game. Which is the last game of the year that is high risk insanity to me, and I spent the whole game on the edge of my seat and sometimes rolling on. Floor because I just didn't want to see the inevitable, which was somebody was going to get hurt. I thought Vander ash got hurt. And I'm still not sure he wasn't hurt worse than they're letting on he got kicked in the shin by his partner. Jalen Smith in the look on his face with scary. It was the look of something really bad just happen. He came back on for a PAT and may end up in a spot. But still I don't know is he did he break a bone. I don't know. Maybe we'll hear something today. Hopefully, not he said, it was minor. But I just kept waiting for an incredibly durable quarterback that Prescott to be in harm's way. Because the giants were playing everybody on defense, and they do not like the Dallas Cowboys and they couldn't spoil their season because the season was already locked up and they still had the game at home next week off game. But they could your spoil the whole big picture if they not deck out of the game. And don't think they were thinking about and if they got their shots or. Them into the playoffs with loss or that would have been something you hang your hat on for the rest of the off season..

"The day after the draft because I told you I'd watched one Boise state game against Josh Allen at Wyoming, right? And I watched the whole game for Josh Allen. Who was hit miss and I didn't love him. But I didn't see double nickels jump off screen one time. So I'm thinking you're taking him over DJ more thought was going to be sensation. And he has been he has been okay. But the point is he did change p came in. Right. As as the world changed in Dallas. Now that may have had something to do with Iraq of Amari Cooper. But he did step in for Sean Lee. And it started at Philly. Remember, it was his interception that turned the whole time. Everything turned from that point forward. I given that but help me out here who would you rather have Jalen Smith or late Vander ash right now, you've got Trump. I'm taking Jaylen Smith is. He not a little more. Sudden he not a better Blitzer is he not just sideline to sideline enlightened? Can he's got rain rain length and he. Basically, he he reminds you a Brian airline. He does because he's six four six four and a half who fifty to fifty five. Shis? I mean, he's the one who's changing live on that defense. I don't know where he was on Sunday. We're gonna talk about that. But my point is if somebody got snubbed ongoing Jalen Smith got over late Vander edge. I completely agree with you about dairies, Leonard. That's that's outrageous. He has to be on this McCain is and see the thing is people that what would you say this guy should be on? You've got to take somebody off. Okay. Mckinney. A Houston Texans. Yeah. No. You didn't have a bet. He did not have about a year. Then Darius Leonard. How do you do this? Plus that defense has been red hot. Thanks to him. I I've never heard of a middle linebacker and I play play with rate rate. Never had seven sacks on the season. Does do got seven sacks one hundred forty six tackles until you're put he just running away with the fast. What is it over Keithly twenty two to twenty two he has more tackles than fourteen games than anybody had last year? And you need a recount watch. Chris Jones got fourteen and a half sacks. And by the way, TY Hiltons on this list, and I can make a case for him. Ju k you can make Acer juju is hard to make a case because it's Kim when you look at the wide receivers are you leaving the Andrey Hopkins home, you're leaving town Rico Keenan Allen kilos balled out Antonio Brown. He leaves the NFL and touchdown is. I mean, there's some ski up there are some positions to be a middle linebacker in the NFC in order for you to crack, Bobby Wagner lewke and make someone leave those guys home. Your defense is going to have to be first or second. Your team's going to have to be in position to win the division and you'll have to be off the chart. Yeah. That's the only way you're gonna cry that because they got such big names. And when you see them on tel- in televised games. They stick out. Yeah. You look at Leuke clean the other night. It's heave everywhere. You look at Bobby Wagner. When he's been on Monday night football here everywhere is so in order for you to do break. You're going to have to be spectacular. Yup. Which speaking of loaded positions in the NFC brings me to one name on this list. That was a little down the list, but really leaped out and grabbed my is. It's the eleventh player on the NFL dot com snubs list. And it's this guy named Adrian planet into stop. Okay. But I gotta tell you does he at least deserve some honorable mentioned. Because a given what I thought he couldn't do anymore. I thought he had a great year. Given what I thought he didn't have left for skew. Okay. He averaged four point to a Carey. That's pretty great. That team is seven seven that team is not dead yet. And a big part of that has been him. And obviously they've gone from one quarterback to another tomorrow Sanchez now to Josh Johnson. Right. Okay. So I gotta give him some credit. He had leased belonged somewhere on the snub list..

"Eight seven nine three seven seven six triple eight say ESPN, let's go to CJ in Texas CJ, you're on first and last Michael junior. You've got a Pro Bowl snubbed for me. Yes there. Yeah. Jeremy white, Texas. His Pro Bowl snob was Jaylen Smith the linebacker, and you a lot of people. I think we're going to make a push at linebacker in the NFC for him or quite frankly for late Vander ash, the inside linebackers though. It's pretty tough. Luke Keithly and Bobby Wagner from the Seahawks. Like why? Go in one has to come out. That that's his ironclad. A position group is you're gonna find right there. Bobby Wagner, who has been the rock through the Seahawks change there. You could argue Frank Clark upfront for them to. A guy who probably deserves some consideration for the way he's played for them this season, Bobby Wagner has been the rock upon which that defense has been built in this season. And Leuke clay you just got the mat like Monday night football alone. If you were to just submit that is the evidence for the Luke Keithly that is the master class on all things Luke Keithly that we were able to see that is a hard group to take guys out of you look at the Pro Bowl for this year. The chargers lead the way with seven submissions the bears defense. We knew was going to get a lot of guys put into that one. Both. How the Pro Bowl marquees pounds from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike. Shavers to beat the Florida Panthers. Almost got through a whole show without during the sandy. How? So you had that all going on? But it interesting group of selections. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Quinn Nelson. Making the Pro Bowl from the Indianapolis Colts being most recent rookie offensive line to make the list since Zack Martin also from Notre Dame. So I've got my daily dose of Homer ISM in for the day for you guys. We'll get our daily dose next of moons bowls and getting demoralized. It's first and last year on ESPN radio and the ESPN app..

"They did they did tell them to drive home. They're like, it's okay to drive home. So seems reckless when you're having to learn relearn depth perception, they told them to drive slow. Okay. Is it drives slow, but you can drive home. So. Yeah. No. I I agree with you. And that's scary. You imagine having your teammates big ass. Thumb jammed directly into your eyes socket. No, oh, really can't guys. We mentioned it earlier. In case you missed it five. Cowboys may. Make the Pro Bowl. You got Zack Martin Tyran Smith. Byron Jones Zeke. Layton bandra. Nope. More laid Vandereycken just a second. Why he didn't make the cut take? There you go tank. Pro football talk. Among others is outrage that late Vander ash to make the cut their six Pro Bowl rookies, you know, who else didn't make it. Darius leonard. Yeah. Various Leonard has a hundred and forty six tackles he has the most tackles in the league and the most for any rookie through thirteen games in NFL history. So if you're sad about Vander astronaut making it well Darius Leonard's, not there either. So there's that various Leonard also have the most postgame drug tests as well. PD tests video I have not. Yeah. He wasn't very happy. He's like are getting tested after games. I don't understand what's going on. Eric still Eric read up to seven now. Cowboys in bucks this weekend. Twelve o'clock kick nine o'clock official pre-game last regular season home game right here. I what. Oh, five three the fan. What do you think? The point spread is for this bucks at the Cowboys. "One way or the other go down there. Get some points. Even if they get a field goal in the in the first drive. This crowd will go crazy. I agree. You know, who you know, who the key is. And I thought uncle Merle with what pointed out what he did. He he went somewhere else. It's Carson Wentz. Is Carson Wentz? Yeah. You know, I love the I love him as a player. I'm not one of these people that started to second guess, whether or not you took all that nonsense. Little too much. I'm hearing on this station. Little too much. I'm hearing it from callers a little bit from hose co. Yeah. So I don't know what that is. But I need him to come out and play well early. I thought the last time the Dallas Cowboys game, right? He had an interception late and Vander ash that hurt because to me he can't come out early. Turn the ball over like that turnover. The interceptions set up the Cowboys in scoring rate that gave the Cowboys confidence and at the same time it deflates your team. So he's our best player. He's the guy if he's playing well, they're gonna follow his lead. He needs to come out. And moved them down the field. You know, what that means? Get the ball out of your hands quick be decisive where you wanna go with the football put it put the onus is on the receivers to catch the ball. Don't worry about this guy being open. He's not open enough. Throw the ball where it's supposed to go. Let's play makers make plays. If Carson Wentz gets off to a good start playing well, completing balls this team will follow that Lee. And you'll have a snowball effect. But if these spotters if he's if he's an accurate with throws if they can't pick up first downs that affects the rest of the pets. And now they're looking around like, okay, we need somebody to make a play for us. And then you know, what else does he starts to press? He starts the press. And he starts the force the balls or somewhere, it shouldn't go or even worse. He's not seeing the entire field. Why I remember when he got the injury. They said it's a full year takes full year to come back from this injury. Yeah. I got the injury last year. I was almost four years number eleven. Yeah. All right. Take fifty one weeks not fifty two weeks. It takes fifty one weeks. We're okay. It was right. What's today's date the fourth? Yeah. It's a week where it's the third week. All right. So it's three hundred fifty seven days ago. Here's what I would tell everybody real quick does. Shawn Watson tore his knee last year. Right. He didn't look good early in the season. It wasn't a full year. But now it's gone past. It'd be a full year. And now the Shawn Watson is starting to look like he looked prior to tear in his knee up last year just in time for the playoff. Yeah. There you go. As you heard. I grease predicts Carson Wentz brilliant tonight, brilliant, there you have it. All right. Today's broadcast brought to you in part by Geico fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance. Now, let's go to John Russell fray traffic report. All right. Thanks, glenn. And I promise no more deer jokes. I think you'll have to agree one man's road. Kill.

"Obviously everybody kind of wants that to happen. But even still when they get their possessions. They score touchdowns. That's what that's what this this team. Does can the Cowboys match any touchdowns in that situation? Can they can they can they be part of the okay, you know, what? Now, we do have to score a touchdown just to get back into this game. Or you know, what we need to score a touchdown to stay ahead of them. Yeah. We need. You know, what we already have one or up seven nothing. Our defense just went out and got to stop. Let's go up fourteen nothing right now. And then let's play really good sound defense. I I'm fascinated by by the matchups who's who's watching Kamara and you hear broad is. I've heard brought to say this number times. I'm guarantee he'll say it tomorrow night when we have them on the show. Kamara is a pain in the you-know-what. And I know he I'm pretty sure he said that the other day whenever we were talking with him who's gonna Vander ash is Jalen Smith because you trust Jalen Smith to run around and chase down. Kamara got. Have the guy that has the can do everything can we assigned one to each? Is there a safety? Yeah. 'cause when Mark Ingram's on the field. How are you going to stop their offensive line from doing what they've done? So successfully they have the perfect combination of a quarterback who understands sees reads the offense or the defense better than almost any quarterback in the league knows exactly where it needs to go. And then it has a powerful offensive line and run game to go along with it so tanks, right? He's getting his guys ready right now, he's telling them, look it's gonna be on our defensive line to go out there and knock this quarterback around because he's had all the time in the world to stand back in that pocket and throw this football around. That's why he only has how many turnovers how many interceptions this year one two. Oh. Lanta heaven forbid, and yeah, so the two interceptions this year that he's thrown. That's why he's having this kind of year because he's not getting knocked around. Nobody's beaten him up and he has in tanks having to convince his guys right now. This is what it's gonna take to win this game to give our offense a chain. And I going back to the beginning. I appreciate what tank is saying. And I appreciate the fact that this is an automatic loss anymore. Like if you told me because of them. Yeah. A month ago the Cowboys we're gonna lose this game for sure. And if you say, well, the Cowboys are still gonna lose this game. You know, what I would say to that probably. But I don't know that for a fact anymore. I just don't think they can do it. I just don't think they have it in them. I don't know if they can dig deep enough inside. Okay. Well, I appreciate that reverse. Jinx. We'll see if that's gonna work here. Masterpiece..

"All right. Look at this where completing the circle here on the Dave damasec football program. Anybody who's been around for any amount of time will remember during the pre draft process we visited with and Vander ash and we gave them some tips how to comport himself on draft day. Then at the draft he employed those draft tips. And now he is a member of the Dallas Cowboys. And he told me seeded inbetween late. Ni- Sean Lee, Dallas Cowboys. Great. I asked Layton, well, let me show you the clip here Sean Lee. I think you're going to be very touched by that. I refer you to the monitor right there. I'm being told, we don't have a monitor right there, but anyway. Well, there wasn't. I. Embarrassed. But anyway, the point is the point is Sean. What he said is, is that the one Dallas cowboy who he admired most in the history of of America's team was Sean Lee. He couldn't wait to learn what Sean Lee had to teach him. How does that make you feel? That means a lot. I mean, he has been unbelievable guy coming in and got to watch film of when we drafted him unbelievable athlete, the way he moves the way he knows the game already, but then to come in and work like he's work to know the defense like he knows it's been incredible working with them already. And and how is it been you? You dreamt of getting to work alongside Sean lien August. Now the dream has come true. What can you report back to us? Lee is still kind of surreal and in. I don't know if it's hit me yet, but I mean it's everything I could ever ask for and and finally be in the position now and into learn from guy, like Sean is is. I mean, I literally I couldn't ask for anything better. You got everything. You know, you have absolutely no excuses. When you learn from a guy like him because he knows it all and and he Ilian ROY. I mean, Sean, let's be honest. It's a Little Brown nose, but still it's. Nice when it's directed at you. Right? We'll listen this guy a real deal. And so like I said, when with him there's not too much, teach them. I mean, he's coming in learning everything. There's a Little Brown, no soup. But when I was rookie, I was a Brown nose to I wanted to learn everything. I wanted to be a great football player, and you have to be that way if if you wanna play. Right. Have you guys talked about the fact that one of you has to first names, but no last name and the other one has? No first name, but three last names. And how does that sit with you? Late new. I. Milo. And has three last names think you can figure it out? Lindsey, I kinda kinda, it's fancy. How do I feel about it? Yeah. We just says the first thing I save a to last night. So I've learned is I, I don't over think things like that. Just when it comes to football, try to keep things simple. You got him a dive that deep in in these meetings focusing you've had to refocus kind of on the way you tackle after a lifetime or two lifetimes, where tackling one way, how have you guys have the Cowboys co, how the coaches, or is it an individual thing where you guys have have to take it upon yourself to basically relearn proper technique in the NFL with the new rules? I think the coaches have done a great job teaching the rule the rough came in and did unbelievable job teaching it. You know, it's going to be tough because we've, we've used the helmet and a lot of ways a hit and it's a violent game. We know if we have to keep your head up and that's what we're working on in every single drill. Keeping your head up, making sure you're using the facemask, not the top your helmet. If you work on it over time, you in granite and and you're able to play with it, are you? Are you anticipated? The teams may be based on what you've been watching or playing against over the years in the NFL. Are you anticipating offenses, philosophically, maybe not running between the tackles and short yardage at the goal line and so on and maybe having to throw. Or or run off tackle more than we've seen over the decades in pro football?.

"The passer but i don't know what jalen smith that we're going to get this upcoming season now i think that that's one of the biggest questions that the cowboys have going into the season i think it's also why the late and vander ash pick is a good one you know you've got another linebacker in that group so of jalen smith can't carry the load that you may want him to you've got you've got another another young linebacker that the the front office really likes there and for me i don't think we'll get anything close to the notre dame jalen smith for this season i just think it's still too soon removed from the injury and if he's just now playing without the brace i mean that sort of makes me nervous just from a standpoint of is something else can happen to his knee i don't know how i'm not a doctor i don't know how likely that is but i just i don't know i i worry that with a nerve nerve injury like that it's so unpredictable something that you've never really see i don't want to put those types of expectations on them it's a great story and everything but i don't see him having that that i mean because before he he suffered that injury he was a consensus top ten pick for five top five pick for that nfl draft so i think for him to be the notre dame jalen smith this soon removed from the injury i think that's just too unrealistic i've resigned myself to the fact that jalen smith is never going to be notre dame zealand smith and a lot of it has to do with the injury itself but even more of it has to do with the fact that when you move from college to the nfl the game changes it's a faster game you're dealing with guys who are the best of the best and not having two years right out of the gate to learn and develop just because he wasn't physically able to i think that's stunts his nfl growth way more than even just the physicality of the injury does.

"They got some stuff to figure out whether replace how they're going to place late in vander at a linebacker whether it's going to be by committee or tation or tau seemed like during the spring but or they're gonna find a guy who really jumps out and is is going to be a starter for the broncos there in boise so they got some question marks regarding the offense they have all the rest of the ten starters are going to be there back on defense only lose mandala vander ash to the draft so i mean they're ten guys will still be around and still be there to to to mash mall for the boise state broncos all right put them as a grade will put them at a b minus as they still have some question marks on offense both other defensive you just fine but the spot for andrew his spot van rich left is definitely wide open coming out of the spring and we'll be decided somewhere throughout the preseason schedule and football football camps in this end of the summer so we'll wrap it up they're going to be at for the pac twelve and then obviously that boise state on by toe they one of one of the two schools that are not in a big big major conference three schools you wanna count notre dame or he's got her mind men remember they're in third in a conference they're in their own thinner independent independent independent school there basketball is in the acc now some of these sports have gone as as you see.

"But yeah but i'm not gonna kill them for not taking a wide receiver in the second round when it's a draft that most people thought was not particularly strong in terms of wide receiver the draft is going on right now the cowboys have taken four players so far defensive end the wide receiver and offensive tackle and layton vander ash this may be totally unfair i'll admit but i'm not a and i didn't again is totally unfair but late in van deresh came out of nowhere and all of a sudden you got a lot of hype based on one season this year plan in boise went to play eight man football high school i don't know man i i'm not buying the hype and you take all tell old takes exposed about that because if i'm wrong i'll be happy to eat it but i'm not i'm not a believer and i'm getting back to the initial the top ten and the four quarterbacks taken in the top ten i think josh rosen is going to be a tremendous quarterback for zona i think both baker mayfield and sam darnold have chance to be good for the browns and the jets i am not a believer in josh allen i didn't i wasn't a believer in josh allen at all and then obviously when the the news on the the racist tweets came out right before the draft that put a final sour taste in my mouth for the guy and you can excuse it for him being in high school and maybe i give you a.

"Welcome to a special vision of the undisputed podcast i'm your host joy taylor today's podcast is i let it by this week's best unseeded segments get shannon let's see to it the cowboys pigs former boise state linebacker late in vander ashed with the nineteenth overall pick earlier this week nfl networks jane slater tweeted that the cowboys felt vander ash was brian urlacher two point oh there is speculation the cowboys would pick a wide receiver and they had their choice of any receiver in the draft but they went with defense skipped you like you like the pic after the quite how about those gab i did not love this pick the more i think about it the more this pick comes across to me as a shocking reach that i did not see coming from my dallas cowboys i hope i'm very very wrong i hope he brian urlacher two point oh loni but i love brian urlacher you can look back at the chicago tribune i was just campaigning for them to take erlanger and it was between erlanger and plaxico came down to those two then plaxico women i think so i tweeted during the afternoon yesterday that dj more will be the best receiver in this draft in that i would be extremely happy if at number nineteen my cowboys took dj more to replace the number one receiver and i put quotes around number one receiver they just lost dez bryant because dak prescott needs a new number one receiver and guess what boys and girls guess what happened whatever five pits later dj more went to cam newton congratulations cam newton that was a god sin pick for cam because he's got a true number one every time i turned on a maryland game this year he exploded dj more did off my screen he is electric he is he's way beyond calvin ridley to me i'm not the biggest calvin.

"The playoffs the next couple of years that first round pick yes it's a first round pick but we know it's going to be late in the first round it may be the thirty second pick up good for you get for you jack the cowboys rolling the dice on late and vander ash there was some noise being made by mike mayock about a neck problem maybe the cowboys were at the heart of it cowboys who whispered to people i don't know about late vander asia's neck got an issue with that neck hey have you heard about his neck next thing i both loved and hated aspects of what happened as part of the tv coverage will have some comments about the tv coverage as well coming up but the cowboys they need defensive help they need linebacker help is vander ash i look sean lee how much longer does he have but vandor ashes that kind of needs based pick that they may with jalen smith not that it was needs it was a little bit of role of the dice let me get my metaphors right here it's rolling the dice and taking a chance and vendor ends up being great that's great so they needed a receiver they could've taken dj more he was there calvin really ended up going to atlanta with pick twenty six which if you listen to the program earlier this week you are fascinated by because he's been working very closely with julio jones and julio jones has been advising him and helping him and now he's going to mentor him directly it's not quite chris carter and randy moss because i don't know what they expect from calvin ridley somebody told me yesterday the knock on ridley as he plays small and josh norris the nbc sports draft analyst he was on the program last week and ranked his players the various positions he had dj more ahead of calvin ridley and then in the aftermath of the really interview that we played this week josh was on he was.

"I'm fine i'm fine taking late knit layton band rush there and i think he he makes sense at twelve at that at that point so we'll do it late vander ash boise state linebacker goes to the buffalo bills all right andy before we move onto washington and the thirteenth big you know there's a new boss in town at buffalo wild wings and he deals in bacon it's the bacon boss burger featuring bacon three different ways and a blanket of white cheese sauce and he's joined by other new favorites like the smother cheese steak casetta sweet chilli shrimp and alaska cod classic all pair perfectly with a sam seventy six of fruity ale with the crisp finish of logger hurry in today and try them all before they're gone at buffalo wild wings wings beer sports available for a limited time while supplies last please drink responsibly all right so we've come to the redskins at the thirteenth pick and they well they have their they other quarterback now they have a quarterback for the for the next three seasons what else do they what else do they need here andy you know i tempted to say running back as probably wrong i don't know what chris thompson's health is he's a big part do he broke his leg late last year he's number two but really he's our most important running back and they probably like rob kelley running backs over thinking it they might be they need best defensive player available i'm not as big on their front four as a lot of people do like ryan kerrigan quite a bit they're not great at the edge rushing spot opposite him now maybe they feel ryan anderson their second round pick last year can develop into then it's too early to write him off certainly so i'm not saying they need to find another edge guy preston smith is not developed into that number two guy he'll do in a while but he's not an every down threat and it doesn't she doesn't force teams to make any kind of judgments offensively so i would say if there's an edge guy they like.

"Why don't we do this vander ash would be the fit and i'm gonna make you take him i'm gonna say linebacker linebacker left what's have a quick discussion before we start rolling through these picks at a reasonable rate theoretically what we basically have is really appealing linebacker on the board and you this is a team that badly badly needs a linebacker that's option a option b is we have a quarterback and lamar jackson who has all sorts of questions and probably extreme results he's going to be potentially great he's potentially a another tyrod taylor worries of fringe starter maybe a backup should you take and you've got aj mccarron so you're you know you can play and stay above water qb this year but you don't have any set position that's option b so what do you do option a great linebacker great fit option b you take the risk at a qb who could be anything any kind of fit even a horrible one what's the responsible thing to do with the twelfth pick in the draft i mean the responsible thing to do is you continue to build up the roster if you don't like the march action and again i don't know what they think lamar jackson obviously all these guys came from a place where he had cam newton and and cam was unique guy come out of college and they made it work there cam you know unlike lamar jackson cam like we talked about last week when we talk about lamar a little bit cams what to forty to fifty or whatever he is and you feel a little bit better about relying on his legs that's the other thing with mark jackson that i think is is not quite being disgusted this point.
