Stew. Gators Gators from from the the special special counsel's counsel's office office also also pardoned pardoned former former GOP GOP congressman congressman Duncan Duncan Hunter and Chris Collins, both convicted on corruption related charges. I asked Kyle Cheney, congressional reporter for Politico if President Trump pardoning Papadopoulos and Vandals. Juan is rebuke of the Mueller. Russia investigation question. I mean, we saw him pardon Mike Flynn a couple of weeks ago, which was sort of part of that long running effort. He's also commuted the sentence of Roger Stone, his longtime ally. Both of those men were caught. Up in the Mueller investigation and convicted or pleaded guilty. And in this case, you know Evander's Juan is sort of a bit player. But Papadopoulos is very interesting because he was the whole basis for the origin of the investigation. His interactions with the Russia linked figure led the FBI to probe the Trump campaign first place. So this is really the origin story of the Mueller probe and Trump pardoning him is really a shot at its existence in the first place. Other convictions of Duncan Hunter and Chris Collins essentially centered around corruption that they were convicted on. Why do you think the president chose toe? Pardon these two former congressman? This is pure, rewarding political loyalty here. I mean, Chris Collins was the first member of Congress to endorse President Trump and his 2015 2016 campaign. Hunter with the second, So it's pretty clear political payback here for loyalists and you know, doing in the lame duck when it would have been politically explosive to do it earlier. It's sort of a tried and true thing and other presidencies. But clearly what happened here, Kyle, I know that many of the president's supporters defend these decisions He's making by saying he's used the pardon less often than many other presidents. I guess that is true. But are you expecting Morva? Four? Mr Trump leaves office. I would anticipate it. I think it is fair to say he's used it less often, but he's used it more to three or or he let off the hook. People who are closely allied with him, like very deeply connected with him personally. Valorant First Strike EU Drama
"So to get to the drama here with g two qualifying. They ended up beating nip two in the quarterfinals. To to obviously qualify. That's not the story who cares about that. The story is in the round of sixteen when guild guild. Excuse me ended up. Defeating g to k so fast forward from that. Everyone was astounded. Carlos ended up kind of going on salty twitter rant about the format. And how it's a joke. That one of the biggest events for valor. thus far has random seedings. And it's a single elimination. And i'm ninety nine percent. Sure he ended up deleting those tweets. Look i get. It might not like the format but like we said we personally like for a for a big tournament. I think this is a fun for you. Can't do double eliminations. This thing would be in qualifiers until we find a cure for corona at this radio. Three's like it would just take on multiple chances to qualify so. It's not like getting eliminated at this stage of the tournament after done for the tournament. Right which we saw we'll see on. Na when we talk about them because a lot of the teams. And na that dinh qualifying lost two or three like two or three chances right. They had they finally qualified on their third chance of qualifying. So it's not just a single elimination tournament right But i think that's just carlos being a little salty fast forward though to the next day riot has announced that guild e sports has been disqualified from the event for abusing a bug and in the rules. Anything that is clearly not intended to be. There is considered a bug if you have questions ask a referee beforehand and say hey we were going to do. This is it. Okay and then they would tell you yes or no so that's riots ruling on on what you can or can't do we're very broad stance to take on it right anything in the situation that we're about to discuss with gilded like the only thing that they could have done to prevent this if they truly didn't think this was a a glitch. Right is ask a referee before the match starts in private like hey. Is this something that would get his cute. But we're talking about one round in a thirteen ten game here so kind of keep that in mind. Yes so now that they're disqualified g to is taking their spot and moving on so this is where the dramas getting into play because people are saying well hold up g to was using the dragon. Elder flame elder elder fine. Whatever is actually called the elder flame dragon. Skin ak call vandal blanket the vandal and that does have a glitch in to it. It causes audio and things like that. So you're technically not supposed to use it. But they did so. This is where we we have run into a rock and a hard place between the group of people that love to say. Rules are rules right so well. Rules are rules. Guild broke it. It's clearly a bug and you're supposed to do that now. I do agree with that. Let's talk about what they did just so we can. No okay yes myself. So what did in. This case is on a cent on defense. They used illegal boost with sage. Killjoy were killjoy. Places or turn it down sages then able to place a wall on top of the turret allowing you to look over more into the rain. It's where you can throw aids and stuff never played the game just know it is. It would be a wild advantage to have this and it's also i will say clearly not intended like clearly. You are not supposed to be able to do this. No i mean you're definitely you're not supposed to be able to do it but i also feel like there's a a lot of different ways to like bug the game out yet come for like the walls and things of that sort like. There's just a ton of that in there. So i just this is something. That's been around since killjoy came out like it's not new so you almost wonder today. They not know it was a bug or is it like are you. Are you supposed to be able to do it like that. Why haven't they patched it if you shouldn't be able to do it like that

I was looking at speak with the detective or whoever is working that case because at last check it was that it was open and I was just trying to get a sense of what's been going on with it audience. He'll be in Kamara. But that's something that you would probably need to go through the chief about since you're with the media and so he's not here today. Detective isn't so the chief can confer with him. I would say give a call back tomorrow with the chiefs. 'cause this situation you're not a member of the family it's a. I would just say that would be. You need to talk to Joe Johnson. I would suggest talking to tomorrow. Because if there's any other developments or anything of course we could only release. What's on the public record that you've been provided we'RE NOT TO RELEASE. Bilawal anything else. But I will speak to the chief about it. He can confer with Tamar and you. You're welcome McAlpine. It'd be great season. Kiko Joe Johnson perfect. Thank you so much. The next day I got a call from Kitty Hawk police chief Joe Johnson Open investigation. The only thing I can tell you right now is to some basics of basically about when the report was filed. And what's wrong and in war? Where do you didn't know that this was actually? I found to be in that condition five years ago in two thousand thirteen. Okay and now. It's paying reported to us a are you with me so we're you know it's you know it's it's kind of hard. It's kind of difficult. Has It. Been Five years ago. You know have said the items all to be tested and I think it'll hills may have you know they're also involved in it too so you know it's just difficult to determine at this point of if it was something that was intentional or if it was something that is just happened. You know because that's where we are with the case is in Kitty. Hawks hands because the gravestone is in Kitty Hawks jurisdiction however Davis Monument. Company told me that John Tower went there and requested the actual photographs so I was just a little confused by that did he. Then give that Kitty Hawk or did you guys go with the monument can do. Here's where we are. They don't have it kill Hilton. We have. The picture was burned completely. There isn't a picture they don't have the picture we have plastic. We've contacted the lab. The FBI doesn't have capability for testing it. So we've reached out to fire investigators. Fbi and he's waiting. We'VE BEEN WAITING. For him wrestle. Y'All all right so but you've gotten a bug in my ear which is probably what you need to do if you know what? I mean because I have a lot of things going on anyway but now this will be something my priority to so I'll I've got it on my radar and I've got your number here so I'm GonNa keep the report on this political pressure and Kinda get this rap. Does we can move on from it with me. Absolutely so technically. What would this investigation be injury to property injury? Personal property is all it is. It's not think it would be considered a hate crime. We've had no reason to believe that that would be anything other than that. But what's weird about if you look at the photograph? I don't if you don't have it in front of you take a look at it. There's a spot in the top right. There was another spot. Looks like? It's something that doesn't look like. It was burned. Because of the way the pattern I i. It's just me. It looks like it's just like in the top right of both pictures like I was a piece of tape or something and it got hot and melded picture and in the picture looks exactly the same. It doesn't look from Appearances that is something that was on fire. But I'm not a far arsenic. Spurts right which is why you know we seek that help because it helps guys especially five years later you hang on one second. Justice came in with it for what was children's now. It is a class felony. Because if it's a thousand dollars or more damage to replace the stunt so that's something that we need to be determined for defacing. Have you guys gone back out to the site and continue to look in that area or a monitoring I mean I know it's been five years? Bet what's your kind of follow up with the follow was we did. We did wall the premises. I know they did that because I told him to. Check other stones and They couldn't find anything similar to what this this one received the damage of this received. It is on Agree with you but at this point you know we can just going to have to try to figure out the ESPN arson. If if it is someone did light it but I have no way of determining that about a week after our first conversation chief Johnson called me back with an update we spoke to the FBI in FM for their systems. And he's calling around trying to figure out something that they can help us with two vapor test. You Know Vapor for accelerates and we have not heard back from them we also. We've talked to the state investigation. And they said that. Yes they can. Test for accelerates to a vapor tests but due to the age of it because now that we found out that it's been like this is two thousand thirteen. It's probably will be slim to none of whether we can determine. There was an accelerate used. But we're still GONNA send it to the lab. If it would have been contained in a home it may be a little bit easier. But I'm not sure how. Many snowstorms and weather stollings. We've been through to whether it's going to determine if there's an accelerator not guess. Plastic that was put over and sealed. I was a picture is the one that that we're sending in but due to the age of you know we're going on five years now it's it may be maybe kinda difficult. We can't mail it. We have to take it in physically. So it's a four hour track. It's a full day just together. You have to set an appointment with the analyst to take everything in this includes when we take our narcotics evidence that we might need to be analyzed and we have to make an appointment. You can't mail it so once we get a large amount together then we take it. Was there any evidence on the stone part of it that we would think could potentially be tested all nothing time? Steiner's condition is just the plexiglas lease that was damaged. Your team the part. I and likely you the listener are dying to know with this new evidence test but come part of the kill Devil Hills homicide case.

"Watched it happened this weekend. So we're judge dumb stupid idiot. Judge screwed three girls on my daughter's like gymnastics team because they were claiming that they didn't complete. This woman was that they didn't complete a skill on the bars. And so got them instead of starting at ten they started nine point five and all these girls did way worse than they would have done. And it was I mean, I video I video my daughter. Yeah. She's over parallel. I don't know what you're talking about. But you also just screwed whole thing. And I wanted to yell at her. I didn't because I didn't want someone to do this. Right. No replay. You couldn't see. I have. You have the video from New York. I would contact the board. Randy very, but anyway, so my some cars the, but here's my thing. And this speaks to a larger issue, and it certainly affects baseball at definitely affects football. Is that guys like McCarthy who took your team to a SuperBowl? And gave you a Super Bowl. He's fire. Maybe that contributes to the it all goes back to just don't be an asshole w a hassle. But like I feel for McCarthy because I'm like what else do I have to do to this town. I'm not always gonna get you a victory. I got you a look we had a bad year. And maybe we're not heading in the best direction. But like come on, man. Like I gave the Packers a Super Bowl. You should. I should be yours until I decide to leave my wrong. You're not wrong. Have you don't have kids? Neither view. You know, that, you know, kids when you have kids you plan on having families. Eventually, okay. Yeah. I have to find a girl or. Yeah. We have to figure out how to. Yes, Christ the whole other thing what? But I mean when you do have kids, it's like. That that is a big thing now stepson this is on again. I'm like, I think there's a little bit more. I than his kid. But all right. So he cares about the steps. I would have floated pass there's a moment. Where again, like I said please vandalized the card of me for me because I want you guys to do it. If you're a ref. Don't you kinda wanna get them? I love this a little bit. I'm in the big leagues now. Yeah. But there is that moment, I mean. Yes. And they're also volunteer guys, and they're gonna make mistakes, the the thing that hurts the most I'm all for if like to bang bang play, and they miss it. And they don't and they don't make the right call in that moment, if there is or if the game is so outta reach that they're making a call to maybe help a team have some confidence and feel like level success like in a game. Where I elder, and I got mad at the rest is there was a kid on the other team was Littler than the other guys ten years old. But he was picking up the vomit taking two or three stabbed makes the case carry like turning the ball over. And I said to the rest before I'm like watched the carried. Yeah. Got teach this kid that he can't do that. So he's caring, and he picks it up takes tumor steps dribbling again, and they're not calling traveling. And I'm like, hey that's five when we're up twenty two eight. Yeah. But when. It's twenty eighteen and there's a minute left, and they have a possession running. Guy picks up his dribble. Takes two steps around our defender and starts dribbling. And you're not gonna call it that you have to call attornal. You might McCarthy. Might that sending a message to might team that like, hey, doesn't matter if you did everything right? And you're and you're trying your hardest. And you got this guy to pick up overlay within the. Yeah..

"I thought it was amazing. I wanna play in Saint Louis. It's so boring. Well, coming for Chamisa, he's probably just saying that just to just to rile up its fans. Yati? It's don't you love that though. But that like now we haven't even thrown a pitch we're already like okay when he gets up to the plate and Saint Louis someone's going to throw one by his head. It's gonna be great. So so Albert doesn't get a statue outside outside Bush. We might get a key one doesn't he doesn't deserve. Okay. Kate. Does yada. You get a gigantic one. Yes. Yeah. Because he's a first ballot hall of Famer. There's no question. He's a I if you wanna see guys came and pitch, and then we'll hit the brake 'cause we we could talk forever that break guys came in pitch for the cardinals guys who went on to other teams, and we're mediocre, but they were great on the cardinals. Why? Because. Gatecrashed Hieaux Loesch Kyle. Yeah. They were like seventeen sixteen seventeen eighteen game. The only guy who left the cardinals and went onto maybe a better pitcher was Kelly. He started through all of a sudden. Miles an hour. Whatever he's doing like he became a great specialized pitcher in Boston. He was a starter in Saint Louis. Yeah. But like, you know, when you think about all those guys that came through and Yati made them better. Why? Is the best catcher in all of baseball and has been at that level for ten years defensive catcher. And then he made him like Ozzie Smith made himself great offense of hitter because he was so bad as a hitter when he first day great, mediocre to bad. But then now he's to seventy to eighty which solid solid. Yeah. Lot of RBI's weird power to right field. Like, he's got. And he does think what I love about yadi. He does things that nobody else does his his crazy pickoffs behind a left handed batter versed. It's like nobody else. Does that? No. It's like a weird skill. That of all the players in baseball only. He has racist baseball pants baseball bag baggy slack anywheres, Jordan chest protectors, which is a funny. Mix of baseball and basketball. He's gonna cross two thousand hits this year. It's not again. I mean, he was more defense than is gonna cross two thousand ten Gold Gloves. Yeah. Something like that some insane goal gloves. I mean gold glove one too. Three four five six seven eight eight goal. Yes. It's insane. At least eight Nick TAT's keep coming. I love us all star BP. He I mean, just incredible. Also in just incredible anyway. Let's take a break. We come back. We'll do some crickets with the baseball card vandal guys get their book, you can get on Amazon wherever you get. It's baseball card. Vandals follow them on Instagram. It's a great follow. You'll want to this is body, dude. Where do.

You went you went and got up and went to the bathroom, and I just have been with my kid. I don't know where I was. But but your kid on the news that we got into a great discussion. We've been fans of you guys. Ben bose. Here's well baseball card vandals, they avenue book out if you don't know what it is. Just just I I'll follow them on Instagram because it's hilarious in the same way. That I will put them in the same breath as gar Reina's banning stance guy. Very few people have been able to carve out a niche within the world of sports and comedy and create an original unique comedic take. And I feel like you guys have done it, by the way, Instagram the greatest thing ever in for you guys, you know, as far as a medium to kind of put forth, the content that you. Yeah. You guys are like creative funny. Smart Perez Hilton's. With with with so much more to you're not just drawing like a dick in. Although I will say that on the cover of the book, which is called by the way baseball card vandals baseball card. Very very original J J was expecting more. Wow. Guys the way to be crit the pitcher and his wind up and just drying, a cloud of fart coming out of his ass. Made me laugh we worked really hard on that part that in. I mean, it was it was a great angle. They that's good cover fart start. All right at Sklar brothers. So no. But what I love about it is you guys for those who don't know. Let's just how do you explain to people were like, what are you guys do just so that because there may be folded school? You guys are old school. We found out today. It's graffiti artists and explain what you did. We take our old cards from when we were kids mostly eighties nineties, and we draw crew jokes on them with sharpies and then close them online. It's really true jokes diminishes what it is crudely draw. Joe? Okay. So you guys aren't like. Yeah. You aren't like our artists each piece now. But what I love about. It though is that a lot of times what you'll do is take just a piece..

Oh, hey, we reset like we're on a radio show turns out run a podcast, and you do that you are coming here. So you know, what you're getting we're so happy with you. I'm randy. He's Jason and today on the show. We have a couple of guys that we were so happy to meet j you met them on a plane heading back one of them heading on a plane back to Saint Louis. That's right. And we got to talking and talking about what they do which of which we were fan aware of emend took a deep dive. And what they did in thought. Oh, this is in the same sort of vein as the batting stance guy. Gar Rinus whenever favorite people as we're kind of ramping up towards baseball season. We thought this would be a great time to have them on. They have a new book out there. The baseball card vandals guys. You don't follow them on Instagram? Should absolutely do that there so visual and funny. Basically vandalized baseball cards, which kind of flies in the face of everything we collected baseball cards. It was like keeping in mint condition. So to the corner. Yeah. These guys draw marker sharpie on them and basically scratch out parts of the name. Or if the card is really visual. They draw pictures. It's really creative really funny. And then Instagram they kind of will vandalize the card and then the Instagram post almost answers, some of the vandalisation that's their great follow and the artwork artwork. And they have an interesting take into the world of sports using baseball cards as their portal into their point of view in their comedy and their new books out. It's fantastic. And we'll talk to those guys and then later on the show we were digging around and I found an old voicemail. It's not that old. But it was from right after the TAOs Cowboys lost in the playoffs. The lot of lot of football moves happening right now. We'll talk about more of those next week. But landscapes changing viane bell to the jets OB j I texted max greenfield. I was like oh BJ. Wti f. He's now on the Browns. The Browns are Super Bowl contenders. We'll talk about that later civil contenders. I don't know about that people say J people are saying they're sue Blair's. Well, I think there's no share saying Super Bowl contenders. What they have on both sides of all that's not me. These are experts saying J, I look, you know, what we'll talk about that. Let's get into that next week when all the pieces of sort of foam, we'll talk about free agency because something happened this past week that kind of feeds into ongoing diatribe, we've put out there, which is that fans who go to sporting events, we were just at a sporting event both of us I've been to two different sports to different sporting events. Not once did I think that it would be okay for me to tante or heckle a player by the way from close range, and I'm gonna tell you because it's it's all about what happened.

"Yet we for the most part we didn't want to cast like chameleons who were playing a completely different personality than than they had like jimmy teachers very smart actor but his general his general essence is pretty close to dylan jimmy any thoughts so philosophically in casting that's one of the things we wanted to do and then then then there was kalem worthy hails more the john wanted it kid in washes face for two weeks because he wanted to have pimples that looked really he was trump from bully yeah but he's a really handsome charming kid that you would love but other than that came on the liezl yeah that's right i mean we looked at and casting that we looked at hundreds and hundreds of kids wendy o'brien was her casting director and she did an amazing job and i think you know the challenge these guys gave her was we you know as much as possible we don't want faces you immediately register of like oh that person and then stylistically we saw some great actors very well trained actors but there is a there's an interesting element that i think actors need to have this just does have to appear that it's just real the minute you feel that there's a performance it can tip so then once we have that at our baseline where these characters kinda can just default into the energy that their characters are supposed to or actors have energy that the character is supposed to have then we let them we give them a lot of free rein where we would do stuff like we.

"We started kind of pushing things together and what's interesting about that just even attempting that is it's sort of pushes outside of the thing that's being parody like you don't often see that kind of a full day with a character in this kind of documentary format so it makes sense that you would find your way back to shorten not a question just survey was just like a lot of our story a lot of our structure is adjusted in post in the way we try to shoot as much like a real documentaries possible and what that allows us to do is if something's not working or there's a there's a particular part of the case that needs to draw more of our attention a lot of that can be adjusted impose much like a real documentary would of course voice over helps us with that as well yeah we read a ton of voice over in post right and then we also let are actors do full interviews in addition to like what scripted so that sometimes if it's ever feeling too scripted we can pull some weird question that are nineteen year old actor wrote in his notebook and asked to an actor who didn't know he was about to be asked that question then those moments of spontaneity can help it feel more like a documentary than a mock you mentally and it also gives us a lot of flexibility in terms of the structure and where how we hit the different turning points in different episodes tony had a really cool onset technique a lot of times on comedy sets especially the ones that we're on you'll do the script to take the second one third for safety and then the fourth they're like well let's just now screw around let's see if we get something fun and it's a chance to alternate improvising and stuff like that but with tony would do is he would start with an improvised take had nothing let's just do and sometimes they were like ten minute takes just the character.
