"Chip or not, this is this tournament will move destiny Henderson pretty dramatically up the draft board, I think. I think this is what's officially going to put destiny Anderson in like the top 5 or even top four selection pool. I think she's going to put out a very airy McDonald's like performance. People are just not going to be able to deny. That was the question I was going to ask. I'm glad you brought her up because we were running overtime, but I wanted to ask who was going to be this year's kind of darling player that maybe we weren't paying attention to now, but by the end of the tournament, she's going to be like a defining figure in the tournament. And I think that's a very sound answer. I think Henderson is definitely one to watch. So a lot of what Steve what you guys just said. That's totally my final four story. It's all what you guys were just talking about. So I've got South Carolina over Baylor to advance and then Stanford over NC state for that South Carolina Stanford rematch in Minneapolis. I want this so bad that for that. I think I put this almost just because I wanted it so bad. And I understand that it's not the quote unquote fun pick to have these two teams who basically been locked at one and two all season long. Like I get that. That being said, these are, in my opinion, the top two teams and I think that there's a decent gap between these two and kind of the rest of the field and so having them match up in that this clash of the Titans, you know, you've got on the one side, you got Stanford with van der veer at the coach and Cameron brink and Lexi hole and Haley Jones and all of that going down there. And then on the other side, you've got dawn staley coaching who in my opinion is the best basketball player in college basketball right now in Aaliyah Boston. I think she is the best player. Plus what Steve just mentioned with that destiny Henderson, I think she is, I think, really undervalued right now. I think she's a lot better than people are giving her credit for. And South Carolina, you know, I'm playing into that whole Kentucky kind of poke the beast and they're going to take this really seriously and come out and really just take care of business. So I understand South Carolina over Stanford seems really like, well, you just went with the number one picks. I get it, but the reasons for this are really sound. And I would be stoked out of my mind because we will be there in person, live in Minneapolis. If I can pick two teams to watch, just go toe to toe. It's these two. And if you remember, aliyah Boston's missed shot. To lose to Stanford last year, you know that there's going to be some heat coming into this game. And I gotta say, if the Kentucky game didn't give them their whiteboard material, ESPN's commercial on the tournament most definitely give them away to one big shout out to South Carolina is a crying Ali Abbas. I think that if you are curious as to why we're hyping up that match up so much go find tape of that fourth quarter. It was one of the best basketball scene in a very long time. Here's how good it was. Last year's final four games occurred and then the four of us hosts got in our chat and we made plans to go to this year's final four immediately. Seriously. We are not missing another one of these. Yeah, I can't say. This will be the year that every game will be like a 20 point blowout. Oh, a 100%. After you've put in all this work to finally make it to a final four, this would be when it's like not fun. It's gonna be like two and we apologize. It will be apologized. Publicly for that. Sometimes even when we're present, good things happen. I remember us in chat about that fourth quarter. And that was one of three final four games that were all great. We were an airy MacDonald jumper away for Arizona winning a national title. But this fourth quarter, I remember all of us basically just not even words just chatting all caps letters to each other. What is even going on? They're just jarring at each other. And it was so good I remember that that last sequence alone was just like what? Like speechless what just happened, I have no idea you're looking going, I don't even know how to put words into what I just saw. It was such a good match up and we deserve a chance at that one more time. So let's make it, let's make do. And I don't know. This would be fun as hell. I can't wait. So we are super stoked. If you are wanting to join our bracket challenge, you have literally like today as you are listening to this on its release date to get into it. It's super easy to find. It's on ESPN. "They don't score a lot from two. They are third in the nation opponent two point percentage, which you have less shooting luck involved there than you do at the three point line. So Stanford strength defensively is also Texas strength offensively. So it's going to be whoever everyone's about. I think my initial reaction, my gut reaction is at Stanford is just a better basketball team. Yeah. But if Texas starts making shots, then you have to play with the press and how is the press going to affect everything? Are you running? Are you turning the ball over? Can you maintain your stamina that long? How in shape are you? Where's your conditioning at this point in the year? How tough was that game against Marilyn, right? Like, that's the other thing. It's like, how tough was this game? If this Maryland Stanford game goes into double every time they got play Texas press, I'm taking taxes. Everything being equal, I will go Stanford. Is the bottom one? I hear you. I hear you. And I think Stanford too, I think, and you know, I was saying earlier about just the discipline, I mean, they have that. I mean, they told the line with expectations. Integrity of the game plan and application. And that's the coach's dream number one. Okay. But I think Tara van der veer mean, just coming off of that championship last year. After the huge gap was at 29 years. But several final fours in between that big gap. But the fact that she has the ability to continue to mentor and continue to mold what she wants from her team and the pieces of the team I'm going to Stanford there. Yeah. But in two things though, two things we should bring up horns up. We're going to go, I mean, one is Stanford vows a ton, chef's camera brink. So there's another opportunity there to put camera breaks on the bench. She files a ton. She's an amazing she does a lot. She has 4000. She's an amazing three and a half thousand. Amazing basketball player. She just smells a lot. The second thing is Stanford has struggled with their free throw. And we've seen that come up and sorry about before. I don't know. It could be very well be a situation where those two things come into play, and if that does happen, then texaco went. But we're both picking Stanford out of the Spokane region to defending champs going to the final four yet again to defend their championship. Let's go down to the Bridgeport region. NC state Notre-Dame NC state Notre-Dame is the first elite 8 matchup or some star three 16 matchup. In Bridgeport, Connecticut, I'm going with the wolf pack. I don't think they lose a gun to Notre-Dame. Yeah, I'm going with NC state on that too. I just think, again, you know, when you're matched up with the team that has beaten you, you have the advantage in that contest. So I think NC state has the advantage and I think they'll win it. I agree. So you can move past another day. And their name is lovely too. Very fun to watch. Moving down to the bottom of the bracket. This is where things are going to get contentious. So Yukon against Indiana. Is basically home. Which we brought up earlier and I want to get your thoughts here on UConn essentially playing at home as the two seed. Right. Bridgeport region. Here we go. So on one hand, this may have just been how the bracket turned out. It's not. The Bridgeport region is there for Yukon. So they were going to Bridgeport. That being said, I do think it is an unfair advantage for the one C in particular NC state to have to go play a two seat at home. You had to do this as we reminded people when you had to go play in Texas as the one seat in Texas was a two seed, and you guys won. Yeah. But still, so I wanted to get your phone. Still, you know, and sometimes it's not the situation it's the principle, right? You fight all season and work your butt off to get a one seed, and then you don't even get to play at home. Or in your region home area. And I'm not, you know, the NCAA is what it is and they made the decision based on what they felt was best business wise. In terms of butts and seats, but the way that things are going. I mean, they can get butts and seats in Raleigh. Right? Here's another thing. No, of course you are. You're right. And we pick these ways. But yeah, I'm with you. I just think it's wrong that NC state went all through this and now they reward for being a one C will be essentially playing an away game against UConn. If you come with this game against Indiana, let's talk about the announcement. Let's talk about this game within Indiana because I'm going to be honest. I think Indiana is going to win this game. You want to talk about team that would be ready and revved up to play. Against Yukon in Connecticut, talking about those seniors at Indiana who want this moment, you know, if they are healthy, McKenzie Holmes is healthy. I'm just going to assume it because I want it to be true. Yes. Indiana, we were talking about them as a once. For most of the years. Yeah, I think they match up really well with Yukon too. I think they have the size. They have the depth. They have the guard play. They have everything you want, and they're tough as nails and just think Indiana's gonna win that game. Really? I think yeah, I think Mackenzie Holmes health yes. Has to be close to a 100% as possible. But I also know that they're hungry as we've said earlier about Indiana, but I know, I don't know if coach weller, my coach at Maryland, I don't know if she told us, I told you I didn't even know we were a one seed. I just, we were just like, hey, where are we playing next? What time is the game where are my shoes at? That's where we were. I think for this Indiana team, though, however, and any other team going to Connecticut, right? I think there's always going to be an extra log on the fire when it comes to the competitiveness of that game. And, you know, feeling slighted and feeling like, well,.

"And now remind me, did we pick BYU or Baylor? I thought we picked Baylor in that. I mean, do we pick BYU or Michigan? We pick BYU for the coin toss. Yes, that was the coin flip. I lost the coin toss. So I guess it wasn't BYU. So we went to BYU. The Tywin. So we say until I see evidence of the coin company. The law firm of Suzanne Clark will be contacting you shortly. All right, 360 matchup in Wichita is Louisville versus Oregon. So this is tough for me. I'm going Louisville. I think I had Louisville on that, you know, on my bracket on that one. I just think, you know, their experience right now will carry them over the hump. And not in a blowout fashion. That's what I'm saying. I don't think any of these games are going to be blocked. At this point, none of them are going to be like that. I think you want close games. Yeah. You know, down the stretch, you're trying to fight for you. You eat 8 final four. It's going to be a close game, but I'm giving the edge to Louisville. I agree. I'm going to go with Louisville. If Oregon's, it's just hard to tell where organs up because they've been so injured all year, so I'm not sure where their chemistry is in terms of just knowing where everyone's going to be you're right, they don't have the torn experience. I think Louisville is has torn experience and is very upset at what happened in that conference tournament. Katie Meyer actually said after beating Louisville that this might push them to get to the final four. Yeah. I think I'm with you. Louisville over Oregon. But Oregon may have more talent straight up than Louisville. They may. But I just go with the cards. I think we'll have a really fun match up there. I'm going with the cards. I'm going to the cards. All right, the sweet 16 matchup on the other side of the bracket for in Wichita is BYU Bailey. I'm going Baylor. Yeah, I'm going Bailey. What did you say? What were you going to say? I was going to say I don't think BYU has anyone to stop Melissa Smith. I think that's true for most teams across the country. But I just think in particular, she's going to have a field day here against BYU. Agreed, agreed. I just think she has just such a monster when it comes to being consistent, but also being hungry, you know? She was national player of the year. I just think that last year I just think that she's got something to prove. I agree. I think they're moving on. So now we have our elite matchup in Wichita. We have Louisville versus Baylor. Absolute barn burner. This scam is like maybe the best one in the elite 8, to be honest. I believe that. No shades everyone else. This game might be the best game in the elite 8. Oh, do you want to make a picture? Do you want me to make a pick first? No, you go first game. I'll go first. I'm still wheels turning here over here. I could see it go in the other way. And I'm going to be honest with you guys. One reason I'm going to I'm taking Louisville and one reason I'm doing that is because everyone's picking Baylor. And I think when you're looking for value in your brackets, if you want to win your bracket, pull one thing you have to do is kind of pick something that's against where everyone else is, even though it might be a little chalky to pick another one seed. I'm going with Louisville. And I think one of the reasons is Emily engler is one of, if not the best defensive player in the country this year. You will be matched up primarily when the list of Smith. I think that matchup is going to determine a lot of what happens. I think if angler can take away some of what Smith does, you can't shut that player down. You can't shut it down. It's not going to happen. But if you take away some of the things she does, and Baylor's three point shots aren't falling, I think it's going to be, I think it's going to be rough day, and I think Louisville has enough talent to do that. I think they will, I think they match up really, really well, failure, and I think Louisville is going to head to the final four. Right. I see that, and I agree. I agree with defense at this part of the season. I think that's going to be the key. When we were talking about a Baylor team that lost to Maryland on one possession game lost to Michigan and over time. And I think in those instances, it was about the defense that was applied by Michigan and Maryland down the stretch. So I think that's going to be a key factor in this game and I'm going to go ahead and go with Louisville as well. Yeah, and the other thing, the other thing with Louisville is the games they've lost this year to a certain extent have been them like losing focus. Like they lost in they were up 18 and second half and they lost focus against Miami same thing happened. So I don't think that's going to happen when you're in the late 8 gets a team as good as Baylor. I think there'll be well prepared. I think they'll be ready for that game. I just think they have the right personnel to beat Baylor. So we're going Louisville in their first final four since when was their last final four? Oh, man. Was that three years ago? Was it 19? The last one was an 18. So is that my shines out? Say it again. It was. Her mystics reference WNBA around the corner. We've almost gone through the entire mystics. Yeah, I think that was her senior year. 18. Also, good lord, the tape on my Asia Hines Allen in college. I wasn't really watching college basketball done. Good lord. The tape is incredible. Oh my monster. Absolutely. There. At Louisville, and so they're in the final four from the Wichita region or Wichita regional champions heading to the final four against South Carolina. We'll talk about that in just a second. All right, moving back up to the Spokane region. Here's where we're going to have our big disagreement. Well, let's do Texas, Ohio State first. I think we both have taxes. Texas. No. They both press, it'll be super fun. Huge. And they're huge. I think their size gives them the answer. No, I really like Texas. And I think Roy Harmon, you know, we talked about teams not being afraid. I think she might be the least afraid of anyone as a freshman. She comes in and she's just looking out and I'm doing this. I think one of those players that rises up to the moment. I think that team rise up to the moment I think it really well coached. So the Ohio State's great and they do have a chance there, but we're going to Texas. Okay. Back up. Stanford, Maryland. Give me the case. Give me the case. Tell me how Marilyn beats Stanford. With their consistent focus, I think they have to play their best basketball because of how strategic Tara van der veer is with her chess pieces and her box, but also Brenda freeze. I mean, Brenda friese is super, you know, strategic as well and attached really sound. We've.

"People were wondering whether it be Canadian, so pretty cool to see that you want it. And they're both from the same town, but from Greensboro. Oh. That's right. That's where the brother. It was a crazy. It was a crazy scene in Greensboro, so you both are fans there. But yeah, it's a little fun. It sounds a little strong for, I mean, green throw is bigger than a town. I would say I live in a town in central New Jersey near Princeton. Everywhere's a town. A little town called Manhattan. That's funny. Great. I think it sounds like we covered most of your games. I mean, the one that I'm actually the most excited to see is the potential championship game. I am excited to see a South Carolina Stanford rematch. I'd love to see that become really a long-term rivalry. As you said, they played in the final four right last year. The semifinals, then there was the game December 21st this year. I think it would be great to get kind of a new rivalry and have that happen. So I'm excited. I'm also a Stanford Homer. I went to grad school there. I got there just after Tara van der veer, Warner championship in 92, and then was the Olympic coach. So I'm a little biased there. But I'm excited to see a potential rematch. Aaron, you lived a whole life in between Stanford national championship. I'm old enough that it's not a whole life. I graduated from grad school to the whole life in between. I guess well, I hope my life's going to be a lot longer than this, right? And I hope I got one more. Copies of that. I mean, hopefully she won't go another one. It was a 30 years right between championships. But we shall see. We shall see. But despite my age that I was just talking about, I'm happy to keep going, but I maybe we should start winding down. One question, a topic I was thinking that we could talk about is which school do you think is going to have the best combined performance across the men's and the women's tournament this year? Who's going to get the most total wins? Megan, how about you? Can I guess your answer? I'm just going to go as with the Homer responsibility with Yukon. I mean, there's only one school, but there's one. National championships in men's and women's in the same year. You can start it twice. I'm going to go with huskies. I actually don't think of events programs going to go with that far, but I think they'll be at least a second. We can team. Is it also fair to say they've never done it since you graduated? And you left Yukon? Yeah, they did it in 2014, and they did it. In 2004, which was before my time, but Uganda, but yeah, so. Maybe that's the reason. They haven't won a champion and the women haven't won a championship episode. I got to go back to school, I guess. How about you, Gabe? Who would you take? I mean, obviously I'm taking Miami. My bracket certainly Miami will win this best combined school performance category. My serious answer, Iowa. I was up there. I had a nice season on the men's side. I'm gonna be honest, I don't watch a lot of men's college basketball. But I'd say in the times I've watched, I will look really strong. It seems like they have a decent bracket. They'll have to get through Kansas and the elite 8. But if they get to alienate and I mean, if they get to three 16 and the women get to elite 8, like I'm predicting, then that's a pretty good season. I'm not sure anyone's gonna beat that. North Carolina sleeper team. Yeah, right? You and C in the tournament as a sleep routine. But I see that I have the women in the sweet 16. Losing South Carolina if the men and our guy leaky black can do it on the men's side, we upset Baylor gets a sweet 16. That's up there with the performance. So I'll go U and C and I was my serious choice. Yeah, I think I was a good potential choice men and the women both won the Big Ten championship on the same conference tournament on the same court, right? I know Jim I saw Jim Nats and Bill rafferty and Grant Hill talking about how Caitlin Clark was probably the best shooter at the school. I think it's pretty interesting. Iowa might end up with the player that comes in second in the voting for Naismith player of the year, both on the men's and the women's side. So that was pretty amazing. There's a lot of basketball town there. But you mentioned the team game that I'm going to take. I think it's got to be Baylor, I think. There are a number one seed on the men's side. Almost the number one seed on the women's side. So there's a lot of potential there. I forgot about forgot about Baylor's. I think I appreciate you leaving. I forgot about this dancer. It didn't cross streams when I was like, oh, Baylor's a onesie. That's cool. And then in my final four. So that's not about Baylor's the choice there. Cocaine's up. Okay, so maybe I'm the leader in the Clubhouse in that one. We usually see. So I think before we go, I think the last thing we should really be talking about is your bracket. Who do you have in your final four and how you see it playing out? Megan, why don't you go first? Sure. So on the top two regions, I'm going with chalk so South Carolina and Stanford, both making it to the final four. Taking Yukon in the Bridgeport region not just because of a home where I do actually think the huskies have the advantage there with the home court and when that region and then Baylor and the final one. So.

"Extra level of preparation that she'll need for the next level. Defending champions Stanford currently sit in fourth in your rankings. And last time we had you on, we talked about their need to find a point guard to replace Keanu Williams, who is now in the WNBA. We're now more than halfway through the season as we talk today. Has Tara van der veer found a good answer to that problem yet? Yeah, they've done sort of a committee ish approach. Do they have a point guard like canon Williams on the roster? No, they don't. They haven't shown that yet this season. But the thing about Stanford and why I think maybe they will be able to get through this season without a pure point guard like kiana on the roster is that they're really deep and they're really talented. They have the pieces there. They kind of need to hit a stride where Hannah jump is nailing threes the way that she can. I think she has the quickest release in women's college basketball. Cameron brink is averaging a foul every 8 minutes of play right now. If she can cut back on the fowls and be on the floor longer, that would be really good for Stanford. Lexi hall has been really, really good for them this season. And I think that when Haley Jones remembers that she is one of the top three most unguardable players in the country, this is the Stanford team that can make another final four run. She is truly a unicorn and the women's college level. And when she decides she's going to get to the basket when Stanford is passing the ball really well when there's good movement, they can be a really, really tough team to guard. Well, to wrap up the college basketball section of this episode, we have to talk about the number one team in the land. South Carolina. Now, Aaliyah Boston's play really has seemed to take a leap this year. So what she'd been doing in her junior season, that's taken her game to the next level. She has gotten into really good shape, a few of her stats just from getting to campus until now. Her lean muscle mass is up 9 pounds, her body fat is down 8%, her vertical jump has improved 6 inches, her bench press has improved 25 pounds, her deadlift has improved 50 pounds. I don't know what she's done, but she has gotten into great shape. We actually talked earlier this year. And she was saying, one of the best benefits of being down 8% her body fat. She said, you know, my photos look better now. My face is send out. Since obviously like December of last season last year, to now I'm down like 23 pounds and I mean I've seen like the physical change, my arms look more defined. My face that went down. I don't know if you're looking at that type of information, but that's really good for my pictures. So she's just gotten her body into a better shape where she can play longer stretches and it's just unfair. Every time I watch her play, I come away and I think my God, how does she have another year at the college level? Because I haven't seen someone that can stop her consistently. And you think she's only a junior. She not only has the rest of this season. She has another full off season. We've seen what she's done in her previous off seasons to think she's coming back next year. It's really miraculous. While the game Cox have put together a number of impressive wins this year, they only have one loss in aside from losing freshman Raven Johnson. They've managed to stay pretty healthy. So is this team still the obvious favorite to you as we head into March? Absolutely. They lost at mizu earlier this season. That was a tough matchup for them. But watching them play again, you have the best player in the country who, at this point, I think it's unanimous. I would like to talk to someone who doesn't think aliyah Boston is the best player in the country. Please argue against me on that. I was speaking with her position coach earlier this season, French meal and he was saying, you know, she's their safety blanket on the court, which I really loved that she is not only the best player, but she's also sort of the player that you don't just want the ball in her hands when the game is on the line, you want the ball in her hands when everything.

"Line, South Carolina is still winning games. And that just speaks volumes to their depth and their balance. But having her at her best, that game's not close. And that makes a difference. So yes, it was dramatic. Yes, they had to fight back, but with cook playing at the level we know she came compete. That game is a different game for sure. It's way less fun. So I appreciate it. Thanks for thinking of us watching me. She's just an entertainer. She just wants it to be entertaining. No, yeah, I think she'll be fine. I think to certain extent, this is also something that teams can prepare for. There's not much you can do about Leo boss. I think one of the things you can take away is those pin downs is those sets that they like to represent cook to get catch and shoot opportunities and force her to do some things that she's not she doesn't like as much. I think when as teams have gotten more tape, especially after she has a big game like she did against Maryland, they can kind of adjust to her. And then that's something that, you know, we can take that away so we could take it away. And I think if her team wins, I don't think she cares at all about her numbers. That's just one thing. We have to pick this, right? There has to be something. The Stanford so early in the game, obviously, they're up by 18. Yeah, I would say I was thinking like, this is a team that has a great matchup for South Carolina. They have enough size in the interior to at least compete on the glass and like I mentioned they won the rebounding battle. They have enough shooting to spread South Carolina out. They have enough speed to push it in transition, have a great coach. They have a great system that's not going to get too out of sorts with it. However, the turnovers have been killer all year, 20 turnovers. In this game, and we can go back through all of their other games and you'll see plenty of turnovers in their losses. So on Stanford, where do you see this team in terms of the hierarchy of women's basketball shoe? Well, I mean, I'm going to fall back to that word again of being consistent. I think, you know, having that 18 point lead, you know, sometimes human nature can give you a fool's gold. Okay, the game is one. No, you have two halves. And so I think sometimes you can get a little comfortable. I love the chess match between tar bander and Don staley. Tar van der veer coached on stele with USA basketball. You know, they have a long history of respect and knowing one another throughout the game. And obviously, Stanford and Virginia played Don was playing there. So I just love that whole full circle moment, if you will, but with regards to what Stanford needs to do moving forward, they have to keep their foot on the gas pedal. And I'm sure that's something that tarp and we were discussed with the team. I just think that Cameron brink, I don't think she should have been the one at the end of the game to get that ball because aliyah Boston was just taking her lunch money every time she came in there for the most part. I don't know what the percentages were when she was matched up with Boston. That was quite a gamble. And the fact that bring took a mid range turnaround fader in crunch time, I don't know if that's what they wanted to go. I thought that brain should have stayed up at the elbow area and Hailey had a mismatch because she had destiny Henderson on her. I'm like back her down. Like that's what I was thinking. And I know, you know, I don't know what was drawn up in the huddle so I'm not trying to coach Stanford. So I think they just need to make better reads and sometimes the defense is going to take away your initial plan. Right? Coming out of the huddle, sometimes, okay, we're running this, all they doubled or all they switched that or all they did something, that's going to change what we do, so there has to be a good read at that moment. That's just my thought. I think, you know, late game decisions are, you know, what can do you in or can when you games? And I just thought that was a critical possession for Stanford. And I just think moving forward that those instances on the court and this is not an indictment of tar Vanderbilt by any stretch because she has revered by me and so many others. But just for the players, I think sometimes you come out with the best laid plan game and things change because of what the defense does. Yeah, I think it was a read situation. Like you're saying. Yeah. I think it was probably drawn up to either run a normal Princeton set with some variation, maybe to get Haley Jones in the mismatch with destiny Henderson. But there's just like, you have to go fast. I think I understand why brink did it. I don't think that was the play. Obviously, the play was to set up that post up to bring to then do something or try to go towards the basket. But I think, you know, when you're told, you have to go fast because we're down one, you have to do, I think that kind of gets muddled in the situation. I understand why bring thought she had to go fast, especially because she had all those fouls and she had she had had moments where she was trying to make up for it. So I think she was just pressing a little bit and maybe didn't see, you know, Haley Jones or didn't see the ability to throw it back out and just thought, hey, I'm going to shoot it. And to her credit, it almost went in, you know? She's one of those. It was a bad shot, but hey, a bad shot makes a great highlight, so it would have been if she makes it, it's a different story, but I agree with you. I was a little disappointed in that final effort there. But I just, I'm not going to I'm with you. I'm not going to question. Yeah, no. But here's why Stanford is 8 and three, rather than obviously one of those games that play with that halogen. But. They are 8th in the 8th percentile for free 33 percentage between 61% from the line. That'll lose your games..

"From fudd as the season unfolds? Fudd had a huge game against USF. It was kind of her coming out party as a Yukon freshman. And I think expectations are high for her. But I think coaches are also being realistic in terms of her limited playing time against South Carolina. Genome aria was asked about that and he basically said, you know, every time she went into the game, South Carolina, smartly so, went right at the freshmen on the offensive end and kind of put her in tough positions. And so she became a bit of a liability out there. And I think offensively as a place where a lot of players have maybe an easier path to getting on the court, defensively in terms of their team schemes and how to play team defense at the college level and keeping up with collegiate players. That's a little bit harder of a transition sometimes. And so I think we're going to see her make the transition. I'm sure by the end of the year, she'll be getting much more consistent playing time. Thus far, I have been really impressed with how she's looked at times on the floor. We'll moving to the West Coast, the defending champion Stanford cardinal are off to a three in one start. And are currently raked 7th. And among the many big names on the roster chantel, you recently highlighted guard Jordan Hamilton as a key player to watch. What makes her such an interesting and important addition to this team? So coming into this year, I was really intrigued by Jordan Hamilton for a few different reasons. For starters, the point guard position at Stanford is open and vacant for the first time in four years after Keanu Williams was drafted into the WNBA. So just that point guard position as a whole, it was the biggest question mark for the defending champs. But what made Jordan specifically interesting to me is that she's the first grad transfer into Stanford's program. And so if tarva and vir is doing something for the first time ever in her career, I think it's notable. So I had my eyes on Jordan Hamilton. Four games into the season, I still have a lot of question marks as does the point guard position for Stanford. And so Jordan has only played into games so far, we're not exactly sure why that is. But as of right now, her being sort of the answer at point guard that I thought she might be, that hasn't panned out yet. Well, in their second game of the season, Stanford was upset by Texas after they turned the ball over 20 times. And the long horns have upset the defending champs. And for the second time, they take down Stanford as a top 5 opponent. Is that going to be the biggest obstacle that Tara van der veer's team faces this season? So Stanford at this point is in a position that I would say is maybe a bit further behind the where I thought they'd be. They knew point guard was going to be a position that they had to fill. So they had Anna Wilson. They have Haley Jones, they have Lacey hall. They have Jordan Hamilton, so they sort of have all these options. And at this point in the season, I thought we'd be at a point where it's like, okay, this is our player. There's going to be learning curves, and we're going to roll with it. But it kind of feels like we're a step ahead of that still where it's like, okay, these are our options and we're still trying to figure out what works. Jordan Hamilton number 14 in for Stanford, the northwestern grand transfer throws it away. Their internal numbers are up, and I think just figuring out that point guard spot is going to be the number one thing for this team moving forward. You know, this is where you wonder where Stanford's identity is, right? Who's going to be there late game alpha. This is what again another example of where you missed Keanu Williams. But if you don't exactly know who you have at point guard, if you have some turnover in that role, you probably have fewer assists and more turnovers, and that's never really a recipe for success. And I think that to me, as someone who picks Stanford as a team that could possibly repeat, as the national champions, that gives me a lot of pause the fact that we're four games into the season and this is still a question mark. What can you tell us about Ryan Howard? One of my favorite quotes came from rein Howard saying that she was in better shape and better condition than she was last year. I feel like I look better. Everyone's like, angrier. You look good this year. So I feel that like I feel like I am in the best shape. Which for anyone who watched her last year was probably like, how you played 35 minutes a game last year? How are you better conditioned than you were last year? But getting into the weight room and sort of building up her strength and conditioning was a really big thing for her this off season. She is in shape, she.
