"To win a Grand Prix at one ten that Mercedes so I can help you to achieve Mercedes, I can benchmark your performance all that kind of stuff. So drivers like Valtteri could position themselves now. Into the very long term. It's interesting you mentioned that drivers who had long hiatuses, the likes of the pre war drivers, the summers, the sheer ons, obviously they weren't any races from the racing, but there have been people who disappeared and came back a while later at Jan lammers, Bruno giacomelli, I think. I'm convinced one of those will have had the longest gap between Formula One drives because Jan lammers was messing around in back of the grid machinery in the early 80s and then all of a sudden popped back up in the light and House of March in 91 or 92. And then Bruno giacomelli, I think last seen attempting to qualify the life W 12 off the top of my head. I don't have a bottomless pit of data, but I'm thinking that, yeah, there were a few people who disappeared for years, but they were back of the grid material in the first place. It's not like someone with Michael Schumacher's caliber disappearing for 6 years and then coming back in something that was barely faster than a formula two car. Is a good recent example of that, but I thought on mark's point on sort of Schumacher, I think the Lonzo comparison is quite good because it wasn't picked up too much, but he said in a round table session Abu Dhabi last year, basically if I had a hard and this was quite soon after, you know, some of those brilliant drives where he was not angry somehow at Lance stroll for catapulting him in the air and then he battled on in a damaged Alpine to get really good points and he had a few outstanding race rides later on last season when the alpena breakdown. But anyway, he was reflecting on that and said, I needed that because if I had had another season like 2021 then I'd have happily wade Formula One goodbye. He said of his comeback here, I wasn't quite on it and it did take him a full season to get to get up to speed like you talk about football players coming back from injury in any of that full pre season to get back to where they were and it seems a bit like that with Alonso to the point now where yeah it's qualifying pace is good but I mean look what he's doing and will to wheel battle. It's not a just so you can string a lap together. It's what he was doing to Carlos Sainz Lewis Hamilton from the get go and Bahrain. As sharp now it seems in every department with the racecraft in particular and a line I did put in a feature is that it's been commented on that he has come back sort of a dress size smaller than he was last year, not that he was by any means out of shape but you know to get there he's had to put in a physical physical work as well to sort of keep his body in tip top condition, but I think I'm not going to for a minute compare him and Michael Schumacher and try and make that but you know there are certain things that he has had to do and the self awareness to know that his comeback could have ended in sort of a simile dispiriting fashion, but he was the line I used out of rage against the dying of the light, isn't he? Yeah, I've been a fantastic success story and kept it kept his team afloat. Well, not kept his team of flight, but you know, just done all the heavy, heavy lifting and there's that's allowed him to have a different side of Fernando Alonso, which is a nice guy teammate. He's been that far ahead of Lance stroll. Rarely has a Dylan Thomas line been deployed so effectively. On that bookshelf behind you, is there an Oxford dictionary of quotations? That is a massive accusation coming from coddles who hasn't said anything original since I think 1997. Dylan Thomas, if you want to know actually, it was a poem that was read at my granddad's funeral, so it holds a hold of special plate in my light. So the line is lines always lines always quick, quick to come to mind. Our former colleague Ed straw used to describe some of my comedy lines that he'd heard before as my writers strike material. Which misses Kotlin was also amused by, so I did message ads the other day to say that my wife, you'll be pleased that my wife is very amused to note that in Hollywood a real writer's strike is going on. No, we just need to be grateful it doesn't coincide with another Bond film, because the last time I write a strike happened, it was quantum a solace that was a steaming pile that was produced afterwards, but that's a tangential topic. There will never be a worse Bond film than the one with the invisible car in the Sinclair spectrum special effects. Can I wear in defense of that? An invisible car for 2002 is no more far fetched up that time than a submersible car was. And I adored a spy who loved me, but I think that was in line. The rest of dying of the day is appalling, but I will look after the Aston Martin vanquish, not just because it's number plate is KE O two WW so it's perilously close to my surname. What about the pre credits sequence where he escapes? He escapes Madonna driving we all want to escape that Madonna. The worst theme tune ever. Plus little were we to know that she was going to pop up as a fencing instructor and just be terrible mouthing our lines there. Anyway, the pre credit sequence of and listeners feel free to correct me on social media if I'm actually incorrect here. But driving across a minefield in a hovercraft and not setting them off. This just does not work. They would have gone off anyway. Those downward pressure on the mines. They would have exploded. So to me, it's set in motion a whole torrent of stupidities, of which the invisible car was merely one. I was going to say in the film that includes a man having his face completely reconstructed and big and I wouldn't call floating over landmines the most egregious abandonment of reality. But anyway, I think Reed listeners who want to hear about GP racing magazine Connors. Talking about people disappearing and possibly coming back. We mentioned the potential AlphaTauri driver shenanigans, a team very much in flux at the moment. They're supposed to be the talent development team for Red Bull, but that tappers run very dry recently. Red Bull hired Sergio Pérez to partner Max Verstappen because nobody in their own pipeline was up to the job and more recently Dietrich mateschitz death has led to regime change and of course whenever there is a change in boss. The people who are established there begin to quake with fear, a little bit like the cast of a soap opera when a new producer comes in and they know that their restaurant is about to be besieged or something like that or they're going to die horribly in a fire or a random plane is going to crash into the said establishment. Anyway, Oliver mintz laugh is now in charge of sports marketing and media projects, which means he's in charge of the Formula One programs and it appears that he's not very interested

"Sergio Pérez secured pole position for Formula One's mommy Grand Prix followed by Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz in third place, where was Charles Leclerc where is Max Verstappen well, Verstappen's first flying lap was abandoned, Charles Leclerc's crash led to the red flag at the top ten looks like this Perez Alonso, science followed by Kevin Magnussen standout performance for hassel get into that Pierre gasly for the Alpine in 5th. George Russell, Charles Leclerc 7th, even though he crashed, he still got a time on the board Esteban archon and Max Verstappen Valtteri Bottas without times on meaningful times on the board for qualifying. Ah, the importance of getting a banker lap. Let's talk about that with our man in Miami Jake box or leg welcome back to the podcast. How has Saturday been for you? It's been a very, very busy day. Things have started a little bit earlier today than they had done on Friday, so the track a pretty decent time. It's been hot all week and it's just been such a thrill to kind of be around the hard rock stadium and in such a kind of boisterous race because one of the flagship races when it comes to that particular essence of race in a sense. So it's been really good fun today. It did look like a great atmosphere. There were some, you know, you could see some blue seats in the grandstands. It wasn't a sellout crowd. They have put more seats in, but still it's so good to see people really enthusing about Formula One in the U.S., not a statement about today, more generally recently, which is so good. Well, a Hispanic qualifying top three Perez Alonso science is our colleague at Mark Gallagher, who writes for GP racing magazine, said they probably should have done their press conference in Spanish and done an English translation as there's more Spanish speakers notably in the world than English speakers. And that was really interesting to see a standout performance for Hass, P four, Kevin Magnussen. Let's be honest, they're out of place. Flat out pace is maybe a second elapsed slower than the Red Bull for that that has maybe even more. Other stuff to mention, we'll get into the Mercedes Lewis Hamilton down in 13th to two McLaren's not getting out of the bottom 5 and so let's start though. With Sergio Pérez, he's on pole, he did it with pace, he deserves to be on pole. Yes, we didn't see a representative time from Max Verstappen, but like I said in the intro, that's the importance of a bank lap, a Perez got it in. Max made his mistake at a wobble or two actually on that first time lap. And Burrell is deserving to be on pole very popular one. How did you read qualifying today? Well, it was a fantastic performance. And as you said, it was completely on merit. And he had to really work for it actually. Throughout practice, he was off Verstappen's pace. He was very lacking in confidence through all of the practice sessions. They made a change to his car, he wouldn't specify in the press conference what it was. But this just gave him the confidence and he was really struggling with the feeling of the car on the track surface that Max Verstappen was able to deal with a lot more adeptly. For Perez, it was a bit of a trial by fire, but he came to qualifying and suddenly he'd unlocked something from himself and from the car, and it was a very, very good performance from him. And he did the vital thing, as you say, it's so important to get a banker lap and he kept it on the island as they say in racing parlance. He didn't make any mistakes on that first lap. Generally speaking, that would usually be half the job done, just nail the last lap, but of course, when it came down to it, there were no final laps. He took Paul and he's full of confidence now getting the car together to where he likes it, but following Baku as well, which was possibly one of his best performances in Formula One ever, it is fully deserved. Absolutely, and coming at such a good time as well as we need a championship fight. I think it's very clear Red Bull are going to win this year, but to see a battle between the two drivers is exactly what this season needed and I mentioned the Spanish speaking top three. But it is good to see Alonso back on the front row. I saw a couple of different stats flying around the last time Alonso started on the front row and I've not gone and done my own

"Get the experienced Nico hulkenberg that will keep it out of the wall rather than risk, you know, Mick Schumacher having another couple of 7 figure crashes because he doesn't have the experience and he then loses that practice session and then if the experiment turns out to be a hit and we go from 6 sprint races to ten to 12 whatever, then there is zero chance that the little rule that says you have to run rookies three times a season stays in a regulations and then you go to Vegas, which is a massive commercial driver and it is just Formula One. There's no support races or whatever. But when there are support races, they have to run to Abu Dhabi, which means by the time the F two champions crowned the F one silly seasons long over. So I know it's a slight tangential point, but it does sort of serve to undermine perhaps younger drivers less experienced ones when you can look at an older person in their advancing years and if they're still doing handy job at minimize the risk, then the shoe them in and never mind you, F two runner up, getting an epi one driving, doing a Nick devries and winning in or getting 7th place in monzo. I don't know. It's interesting you should mention Nico hulkenberg because the very first Grand Prix in Azerbaijan, if you recall, was anything but it's a thrashing crash fest. Everyone was very conservative. And that is because the drivers at the F one drivers were watching the carnage that ensued in what was then GP two, which had a number of safety car periods followed by ridiculous restarts followed immediately by safety car periods. And I was actually talking trying to speak to Nico hulkenberg in one of the many badly scheduled driver press conferences of the weekend that took place while there was a race on with a monitor in their eye line. So instead of talking to you, they were drifting off and watching what was on the screen and he watched one of those shunts on the restarts and I can't repeat what he said. Because it would cause us probably be blacklisted by Apple, but the word rhymed with duck's wake. And you can see why the F one drivers decided they were going to be conservative that weekend. So, you know, there might be an outbreak of conservatism for the sprint race. Or they might just have what the Italians would call. To the head. Well, I think so long as your good land stroll trying to keep pace with the Fernando Alonso. There's likely to be a massive shunt. Right. To be fair to mark's comment. I think. There's three there are three practice sessions qualified. But anyway, in qualifying last year, I think he was in two sessions and he crashed three times. That's quite a good, quite a good return rate for Azerbaijan. So ya boo and sucks says the Lance stroll. Do we have any members of the land stroll fan club in our listenership? If you would like to make yourself known, then please email Matt dot Q out from to support dot com. I think I met both of them at the Montreal Grand Prix. Stuck in the elevator momentarily. Do you have an Aston Martin cap behind you? Is that Vettel? Was that Alonso? Is that Lance stroll? Oh, yeah, you're looking at what Christian Horner during a Zoom interview rather snotty described as my partisan bookshelf. I'm sure he's really concerned about your support for Valtteri Bottas. So it's actually both. So Sebastian Vettel and Lance stroll have, I'm not sure who's actually what. I should probably keep this out of the sunlight because the sharpie mark is fading, but it won't perform as well on eBay then. As is well known, I'm banned from eBay. I tried to sell some of my own books. I canceled the sale and threw me off and told me I was a security risk. Did you have to poke them inside? Well, the local arcs fan is now saying, well, another one of these. What? I'll be keeping the Aston Martin baseball cap because it actually covers up a rather annoying blue stain on that shelf caused by a expired ink cartridge that I'd put in one of those macmillan charity envelopes. The residue leaking through the bottom. So there's a cyan splodge on that shelf. So your summary is that the benefit of having a signed acid Martin cap is that it comes up the stains on you. That's terrible. That's terrible. Oh, dear. I think it's as we come up to the hour mark in this podcast. It's time for us to leave it there with our listeners, visualizing peculiarly colored stains on market share. You really need to wrap this one up colors. Yeah. Well, thank you everyone for listening

In this part of the localised entirely in this Grand Prix, a better chance of winning the world championship than Charles Leclerc, which is remarkable. Another honorable mention, the honorable Australian Valtteri Bottas, the four points for him. He'll be driving a V8 supercar this weekend at the end of the festival. He's full. He is genuinely out of the two Aussies in the championship this season Valtteri Bottas is the highest ranking. Good for him. Good for him. Yeah, what should we give him a nickname? Like the fact that we'll see or something like that. The de facto Aussie. He kind of is. It's almost the correct term. The fact of all work on it, let us know in the Discord channel. What should Valtteri Bottas Australian nickname be? And how can we help him on the immigration test? Yeah, yes. John Bradford. Warney. And Anne said. Let's give I want to give a stocks up to Oscar piastre, who had a good weekend. Except I feel like every good weekend he's going to have, we've got to say underratedly good because McLaren cars so bad. Yeah. Robert, what do you think? They have Oscar piastre. I would go. Really. Okay, really? He qualified very well. Very well. Very well. Very well. Jared, how well did he? Very well. He did so well. To qualify, granted he's got history at this track as well. So it's a good sign so far. In terms of his stocks aren't meteoric. I tell you what he's a solid investment at the moment because he certainly hasn't disgraced himself. And he also has the great caveat that everyone is acknowledging. It is clear as day that the car is shit. It is so bad. It is, I know, I have to run to. I say, just hold your horses with Ferrari. But it is no good. It is no good. McLaren and Ferrari are definitely not Ferrari racing to the bottom. But they're not making life easy for themselves at the moment. So I'd say it's turbulent for them at the moment whereas McLaren is just screwed. It's really bad. It's really bad. That's quite embarrassing. The car this round was probably the slot. It was probably the size. Maybe equal or maybe just a head of Alfa Romeo, which had a weirdly not good weekend. Although I think Joan used to finish it at both of them. Although both were car and drivers had damaged on the first lap, from each other, funnily enough. The thing I don't get, like you can look at the rice style that you can look at the long runs, all that kind of stuff, all the rice pace. Every week what every weekend, for the last two weekends, McLaren's coming out and said, we had points winning pace. Put a score points. There are 5 there are no points to win. There are 5 teams that are clearly better than all the other ones. And McLaren's not one of them. You're not there are no points on offer for they may as well not turn off at this rate. They were hoping that the likes of they just resting their laurels on alpha alpha Romeo will stuff it up and alpha tour is shit and our pain ah, they no good because there are tribal and drivers to survive. Harsh cars will be repossessed. That is what they need. They need all of those cars to not turn up. No. Or crash or retire, whatever. No. There are ten cars now on the basis on the evidence of this weekend, Alpine is a step ahead of everyone else in the midfield. There are ten cars that are normal race will score all the points. The only reason Kevin Magnussen scored a point was because Lance stroll formerly the people's parties event retired. Had he not retired, they would just be no points on offer for anyone else. That is that's the style of it. It was a poor showing for risky stroll for capitalizing on some much needed points because if we talk about the entertained battle though jeez, I think by now, if S bass and haven't thought about putting all their resources behind Fernando, I think this is it for a hundred podiums for eventually. Technically a 101. True today. Oh yeah, true. A 100.5. 100.5. Yeah, let's hundred and a bonus. Let's call it that financing. I wonder what's the status? I want to know how many what is the all time record? Podiums. Podiums for drive a bit like in multiple teams. Oh, that's a good question. He's done them at Renault. McLaren Ferrari Renault. Did he cut our, I believe? Remember that one. Well, there you go. It was a very forgettable ride. Right, so obviously it was the rice before Saudi Arabia when the exciting stuff. Okay. I must have also not watched the film. Okay, so there you go. I would like to know the record because again, I'm very pleased. It is the thing that case we're going into this season. I think the Fernando Alonso effect. I think it's brilliant. I'm absolutely here for it, because if Ferrari can't do it, then philando, it is, like I said, Fernando Alonso, it's trolling the field. These trolling Ferraris trolling McLaren. He's trolling Alpine. And he's in an Aston Martin and he's doing what he's doing and I think it's brilliant and I'm here for it. He's very exciting. He also was so when he was told he lost his podium. I think his words were I don't really care because the car's quick. I had fun. And I got to go on the party. It's what everyone really wants to do. What's the record of the podium? We just want to go on it. Exactly. It's exciting. Get their photos. Okay, all right. Let's eat. Yeah. But it was good for Fernando to get the hundreds out of the way as well, which is a remarkable stat. That we're going to have to because for me, Fernando Alonso winning a Grand Prix is a highly more likely prospect that McLaren possibly scoring points this season. Or Ferrari even winning a race because I think two races in, it's a bit of a hyperbole. I'll acknowledge that. Long way to go, but it's not looking good at this early part of the season. And Mercedes. Fans like me and you tune to three a double U 9 6906 9 three four proves. That is where the day is. Great sweat. Great production by the way. Only made for box of digital. "Second round and he's getting penalties already. But they seemed quicker, at least a day, does this track suit the Ferraris more than Bahrain, are they going to be hopeful for Sunday? It should do with regards to tyre wear because this is something that's been a bugbear Ferraris for a little while now and they're not so great at managing the tyres and Bahrain really exacerbates that and it really magnifies that issue, particularly just because the tarmac is so abrasive the tarmac and Jeddah isn't anywhere near like that. So with regards to tyre wear and that kind of thing, it shouldn't affect Ferrari quite so much. But they were honestly a little bit surprised to be second in qualifying. And you know, without Verstappen's issue, yeah, it would have been P three, but that's still a good effort, nonetheless, to be a tenth and a half away from Perez's ultimate time. It does take that penalty, but he thinks that a podium again is very much possible. Leclerc said, you know, it's more possible for Carlos Sainz than it is for him, but it's something that Ferrari feels that it's achievable. And it knows that it's better with regards to race pace over qualifying, which I think is another contributing factor to why they were slightly surprised. But yeah, it's not all doom and gloom at Ferrari. Bahrain was a difficult round for them with regards to reliability and with tire wear. And they've been really behind the 8 ball so far this weekend, you know, the Ferraris haven't been really factoring at the top of the time sheets. There is the suspicion that they were perhaps running their engines quite detuned because they were just losing so much time in the straight lines in practice, but in qualifying, yeah, they seem to be much, much better in much better shape. And yeah, we'll see how they get on tomorrow if they can fight for a podium. If they can find something over Alonso that maybe Alonso had over them in Bahrain, we'll have to wait and see. Yeah, let's hope that Ferrari power unit is robust, they're not de rating it or anything because it was still good. Some decent performances at times for Hass now from over the weekend as well. So we'll wait and see on that in terms of that midfield battle when we thought we were going to be talking about Aston Alpine McLaren. Things are working out a little bit different this year with Aston Martin's progress, Alpine line up with ocon in 6th and gasly in 9th. Bahrain was a weird one because we saw ghastly making progress through the field ocon collecting time penalty. So I feel like we haven't really just had a chance to see them start where they should do and then progress from there. Is that where you expected them to be? This is probably a little bit more in line with what they promised as a team, perhaps over the off season. The car has been really, really strong. And it does seem quite wayward. So I was down one, two, and then it turns 22 and 23 on Friday. You could see the red balls going through the Aston Martins going through really, really, really stable. The Alpine looked a little bit all limbs kind of all a little bit wayward. It just seemed to produce the lap time where it needed to. To see gasly and knock on, up there, it's not it's probably where it should be given the progress that it's made. Ocon did have a little bit of a moment where he very nearly lost the current qualifying. And just about managed to keep it on the road. That was an issue that he had to face and he had to deal with, but it was a very, really strong performance from our pain. They'd looked really strong all weekend. So it's not a surprise given the context of the weekend to see them up there doing quite so well. Well, Oscar piastre and Lando Norris had both a little sniff of the wall this weekend. Oscar piastre getting away with it and in his second qualifying for McLaren, starting 8th on the road. Lando Norris down in 19th I had to retire him. Can you explain what happened to Lando Norris and if we heard from piastre afterwards as well? He must be made up. Let's be honest, it was sonoris fault there. He just got a little bit too overeager with trying to take the apex into the turn 27, which is the final corner. And just clip the wall when you do that, when you clip a concrete wall with your front left tyre, you're going to break something. And you could see that sort of tire wiggle where the suspension was just broken. And there was no chance of getting him back out in time. So that ended Norris session pretty much immediately. He'd managed to get at a lap in and this was his going to be a second lap that was a bit stronger, but unfortunately he wasn't able to clock that. Bias tree was really, really strong. And it was really good to see him in his first race doing such a first season doing such a good job given the difficulties that he endured in Bahrain. He did say that he was very, very careful when it came to Jared because he has raced at the circuit before in formula two. He's won here twice back when formula two was doing three races a weekend for some unknown reason. But he hasn't raced here for over a year. So he was slowly trying to build up for it. Slowly get used to it because it's such a difficult circuit for a rookie to deal with. But he was getting more and more comfortable. The lap time just seemed to come for him. And ultimately, yeah, he did a really, really good job. McLaren still knows that it's behind and it still has a lot of work to do with regards to its concept and development, but that really difficult Bahrain. The picture doesn't seem so bad now. And realistically, Norris probably should have been in Q three as well, given his pace in practice sessions. Maybe you've got a couple of tents on pediatric as well. So you would have to expect both of them to be in on had things been a little bit normal. Norris sort of given maybe a little bit of a quarter there in Q one. Yeah, people were quick to write off McLaren bottom of the constructors after the first round, but we haven't seen them do a full event yet, so a normal weekend. So this could be it. "It's probably a two part thing of the long term situation is probably a brand new car four 2024. And then do what they can with their current concept and they've talked about a new side pod design and a few other things that will be changed for imola, which is in mid May when they're sort of the first big upgrades everyone's expected to live will be coming. So yes, they are where they are. They've been very honest and open about they haven't met expectations within themselves. They thought if they could get on top of the poor person and I'm trying to unlock the performance they believe was there in last year's car and this is car that they could be, yeah, fighting for world championships, but they've got to where they are currently with this W 14 and did just whether it's the data, whether it's correlation, it's just not adding up and it has never added up to what they expected. So yeah, some pretty harsh and brutal on home truths and honesty has come from the team and I think they're preparing for a changing of concepts and changing ways because it's just not worked. Wow. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see a B spec car. Sometime around Silverstone this year as they clearly have said, hey, you know, we tried it. We tried our best. But this is not the way, not the way to go. A team who did, I think, show well. If you look at the actual times, the progress made through the race, ignoring penalties and stuff like that. If you sift through the data, a team who had reason to be happy in Bahrain, you wouldn't think so, is Alpine two cars in the top 6 in free practice today. Any news coming through from them, they're going to bring some upgrades quite regularly. Any news on that, or is this a sign of the inherent place in the car? What do you think? Yeah, so nothing in terms of a significant upgrade for this weekend, which is by and large the case for most of the teams because it's so close to the opening race. There's bits and pieces, but nothing too too drastic. But you're right. I think the real pain maybe is showing up this time around. They had in no one certain times a bit of a shocker in Bahrain. Whereby gasly just didn't get qualifying, hooked up was out in Q one, back road to grid. Whereas ocon qualified well, but he had very much a race to forget picking up penalties like their sweeties. And therefore, he dropped out the points and eventually they retired the car, whereas gasoline fought his way up to the point, but gasly saying that speaking on Thursday, like you said, they had to look at the data, they looked to where the cars and the traces were going. They thought if they had a clean weekend in Bahrain, they could challenge Mercedes or give them give them a headache, which instantly puts them sort of, as we know, 6th, 7th place. Or maybe just behind them, which on reflection of where they are at the moment in Saudi, early days of course, is probably where we'd expect them to be going on going on the practice pace. So yeah, if they can have a clean weekend and extract the full potential of their car, which is pretty much what the team said at the end of the Bahrain Grand Prix of knowing like, right, this isn't really us. Then yeah, they probably will be the fourth or 5th quickest car on the grid. So yeah, let's wait and see, they've still got to get through qualifying in the race, but yeah, if they show their full potential, I think they'll be, they'll be fighting for the point, definitely. And finally, a quick word on Williams actually, I thought I'd pick them out to just talk to talk about rather. Alex Albon finishing just over a second off the pace of Max Verstappen today and Logan Sargent ahead of drivers like Oscar piastre, ahead of Valtteri Bottas. So William's not bringing up the rear today in free practice. Actually, with Saudi, it's a fast flowing track. They said their car could be good on some circuits this year. This should be one of them. Any news coming out of Williams and how this could be a good circuit for them. That's right, yeah. The circuit should suit their car characteristics. Albania was 14th nephew two, but he, his fastest lap was set on the mediums, whereas everyone else managed to get their fast lap down on the softs, which is a bit of an anomaly, so you could definitely give him a few tents in hand to move him up the order and that puts him just on the edge of the point where he was for Bahrain. And yeah, I think you have to think you're right. Again, if they have a clean weekend and qualify well, there's a chance that Alban in particular can be fighting for that sort of just outside and just the top ten is sort of where they would be aiming. It is a definite tough ask for rookie Logan sergeant. He has experienced around this track in F two, but obviously this is a different sort of challenge. He didn't he didn't do too badly. And granted his Bahrain debut in F one was, I think, the most people's expectations. I think he quitted himself very, very well. So yeah, give him a chance to see how he does. I'm always sort of keen to see how he does compared to the other two rookies for this year, which is piastre and de vries. They've all got varying experience, let's say, in terms of their junior careers and such. But given where their teams are, they're all they seem to be fairly well matched in terms of how the seasonal go. So keeping that sort of little battle between those three going. And he's acquitted himself, I think, very well. So yeah, give him a charge. It might be a bit more difficult for say sergeant to fight for the points and match albums performances. Over these first few rounds, but yeah, they've got the package to hopefully do something quite exciting this weekend. Absolutely. "Then what's going to happen is that max will win because he has more race wins, even though they're tied with points. And imagine if someone at the back of the pack, let's say, Antonio giovanna is like, I'm so sick and tired of loose dominating Formula One he just goes on a as soon as I had mission to cause a crash for Lewis Hamilton. Something like that, that would be really interesting and I don't know funny's right word, but it's definitely interesting. I don't know if that'll happen, but Bottas is third right now in Formula One with 218 points. He is actually, I think secured third because in fourth place he got Sergio Pérez with a 190 points, that's 28 points behind. You can't score 28 points in a single race, even if I think it must mean that Sergio Pérez is secured for a race Valtteri Botox is secured in third in Formula One. In the constructor standings you have Mercedes with 587.5 points Red Bull has 559.5 points. The DNF for Sergio Pérez in Saudi Arabia basically handed Mercedes first place, it would take a miracle now for Red Bull to catch up and beat Mercedes. And third place, a similar situation you have Ferrari with 307 points. McLaren, who is battled with them all year is so far behind now they have 269 points. It would be a miracle. It would be like, hey, both McLaren drivers get first and second Ferrari doesn't finish for McLaren to somehow pass Ferrari. And even then, I don't even know, is that mathematically possible? Probably. Yeah, because you have 25 plus. I still don't think I could even happen. So I think Ferrari has secured third Alpine has a 149 points in fourth and 5th place excuse me. Dave pulled away from alpha tower. Remember a couple races ago, alpha tower and Alpine were tied. And with estrogen outcome doing so well recently and Fernando Alonso getting a podium estimate, icon got fourth in Saudi Arabia, and alpha is now 29 points behind Alpine. So good for Alpine. "Now, here are the standings in Formula One after Sunday. The driver standing look like this. Max Verstappen is in first with 351.5 points. And second, you got Lewis Hamilton with 343.5 points. Vader Botox has 203 points in third and Sergio Pérez, the other Red Bull drivers got a 190 points in fourth place. And the team or constructor standings you have Mercedes, which is narrowly narrowly ahead of Red Bull Mercedes isn't the first place with 546.5 points Red Bull is in second with 541.5 points. There are only 5 points a part of each other. Lewis one, but Valtteri Bottas did not finish. So with max getting second and Sergio Pérez getting fourth in Qatar, Red Bull actually gained a lot of ground on Mercedes, and it's very possible we see a world where Lewis Hamilton could win the individual drivers championship, but Red Bull could still very much win the constructors..
