Parkland Killer Who Took 17 Lives Gets to Live?

"So the murderer who killed with the Parkland school in Florida, how long ago did that take? When did it happen? Yeah, when did it happen? Mother, how long ago did it take? What did it happen? I want to make a point about the time frame. Shooting occurred on Valentine's Day 2018, so that is four and a half years ago. Why did it take four and a half years ago to go to trial? What is wrong with our system? Needless to say, people should have the right to a defense. But there was there a defense, he didn't do it. I doubt that that was the defense. He's insane. Okay, that doesn't take four and a half years. So my Friends, let me ask you a question. If you really dig deep into your heart, this is a heart based question I normally don't consider that when assessing an issue, I ask your mind to determine. But even your mind will certainly it's in my mind, but I'm going to ask your heart. Do you think it's fair that he took 17 teenagers lives and keeps his own?

"Well, you see, here is what the sign should say. If you wanted to use virtually these words, I hope you know that the world should be better. Yes. Because you were in it. Yes. So I'll tell you an example of how I would see this growing up. At my high school and this was back before my high school was really woke. You know I loved my high school, but now it is a cesspool and it pains me to say it is utter cesspool. And in such a short period. In such a short period of time, there's been like, you can't even believe the amount of radical changes that have occurred homework doesn't count, participation doesn't count for grade years. Victorian, that they drop that. Probably not. I don't know. They have healing circles. If you're offended, they building 75% on average of every grade is either the students are either trans gay or bisexual or what's the other one. Non binary. Yeah, but non bind. It's actually accessible now. But when I went to it, I loved it, but it was still, you know, the woke stuff was starting to trickle in. Right. And I remember, once a year, maybe it was Valentine's Day or there was maybe it was like international women's day. They used to do this thing where you could write on a sticky note, a nice message, and then you could put it up around the school. So if you walked into the bathroom, the mirror would be covered with these sticky notes. And so often, see, this actually shows I was always a conservative. I believe that. I was always, I just didn't have the vocabulary to express that I was conservative. People would write on these sticky notes, you are beautiful. You are important. You are kind of go queen. And I remember seeing it and it's funny that you are a beautiful one stuck to me and maybe it's brutal to say like, not everyone is beautiful. Who's going to be reading that? Or not everyone who's smart is going to be reading that or just saying, you know, you're perfect the way you are. No, you're not. No one is perfect the way they are. You're not perfect the way you are Dennis. I'm not. And I just thought these platitudes are so asinine. If

It's Time to Reenter the Gun Control Debate

"Begrudgingly, we're going to get back into the gun control debate. We're now going to defend our rights against people that want to take them away. We're going to add clarity and we're going to add hopefully some wisdom to how we talk about weapons and how we talk about the Second Amendment against the highly emotional chatter that is going to enter the discourse. We are prepared for this. I lived through not just lived through. I was front and center on a lot of the sandy hook, sandy hook, yes, but Parkland shooting. I got to know Kyle kashuv and I remember being in Washington, D.C.. In fact, we're reposting a video of this. And I kid you not. There must have been a hundred, 200,000 people. Do you remember this? The March for our lives? David Hague and all these people that were being platformed by celebrities all around a massive push for gun control, which of course was just a midterm push for the Democrats. This was in February and March of 2018. If I remember correctly, Parkland happened on Valentine's Day of 2018. February 14th, 2018. And it just unfolded for months of gun control chatter. "Climate change will make the pollen season even more challenging climate change will continue to make allergy season longer and more intense that's according to a study by climate scientist at the university of Michigan they looked at how warmer temperatures and extra carbon dioxide in the air will allow plants to bloom earlier and produce more pollen a cycle it's actually already started allergists say that pollen season in the U. S. used to start around St Patrick's day and now often starts around Valentine's day with moderate cuts in greenhouse gas emissions from coal oil and natural gas pollen season which start twenty days earlier by the end of the century hi Shelley Adler

"Have a limited amount of tickets due to the capacity of the room that we have booked for the conference. So there's an early bird pricing on the tickets right now. And I am not sure when that's going to go off. But if you've been thinking about the conference and even if you don't have the details worked out on how to get here or the specifics, and you're thinking it would be worth it to go ahead and purchase your ticket. Because the closer we get to the limit, the early bird prices will come off of the ticket price. There is lodging there and there is a group rate on the hotel room. So all of that information can be found on the website. Okay, Valentine's Day. The topic of conversation this morning. I know, I know. It's the 16th. But who wants to talk about Valentine's Day on Valentine's Day? I purposely waited two days, because I know that a lot of you listening, Valentine's Day is just really not that great today. You know, either it's overblown, so they look good or it is ignored and made you feel bad. Okay? So I purposely did not do a Friday podcast because it was Valentine's Day, and I don't want to make anybody feel any worse than there already feeling on Valentine's Day. In my opinion, as is my opinion with any holiday, when you're in a situation that may be toxic and people need attention and then want to take the attention off of you on your special days. Remember Valentine's Day is just a day. Christmas is just a day. Your birthday is a little bit different, but it's just a day. You can celebrate it later with people who care. So I am sorry for anybody who's Valentine's Day, made them sad, or who's Valentine's Day made them feel unwanted or unloved? They do that for a reason..

What Are the Key Ingredients to a Successful Marriage?

"Today is, well, Valentine's Day. And so we thought we would do a little Valentine's Day special. And we thought we would actually talk about relationships and about marriage and kind of what makes marriages tick. Obviously, I don't know if we have a representative marriage, but I think we do have a happy marriage. Now, people say, listen, and the man's opinion does not matter. It all depends on the wife. Apparently you're like sovereign on this question. Interesting. As to whether we have a happy marriage. What would you say? Yeah, I would say we absolutely have a happy marriage. Okay, now. No, I think there's the opening line in, is it war and peace? So is it on a garment now that he says that a happy marriages are all the same, but unhappy marriage is an unhappy and different ways. So do you think that there is a set of ingredients that makes a happy marriage? You printed this thing out you were showing me where, I guess they have couples who write in and offer comments about what they think makes a marriage successful. But yeah, yeah. So it's not so well, you can refer to the comments, but let's just also talk about our experience. What do you think are the two or three key ingredients that make marriages work? Well, I'm not going to go into one of them because it's rated R. But anyway, you can take whatever you like from that. But also, though, I think that communication is super important. And I think that both of us definitely communicate. And you know, a lot of times people ask if we talk about politics and all of those things. What do we talk about? We do talk about politics, but of course that's not all we talk about. We have a lot of other interests that we share and also I think we're both very kind people and we're kind to each other. And I think that goes a long way because it's interesting. We have friends who are, well, we would call them sort of combative and yellers. And so they will, I mean, they have a long marriages. And so they will excoriate each other, they'll use insulting names and they let it bounce off each other, so the marriage is actually fine. But we don't do that. We're actually quite gentle with each other and if you get flustered about something, it flusters me and vice

"The mason minute. With Kevin mason. It's Valentine's Day. You have a hard time finding any chocolate around your favorite drugstore, big box store right now. And often wonder why chocolate is associated with Valentine's Day. So you have to go back to the origins of Valentine's Day. Actually the feast of saint Valentine in the year four 96. Then in the 1300s, Valentine's Day became associated with the lovey dovey stuff. Thanks to chaucer. But when did chocolate come in? When do we start celebrating Valentine's Day with chocolate? And of course, the simple answer is? Well, no one really knows. Now in Mayan culture and Aztec culture, chocolate is always been adored and treated as a symbol of love. So they're thinking, perhaps it all kind of melded together there from the category of Europe into the Catholics in Mexico associating with the Mayans and the Aztecs at least. That's what somebody's thinking, but again, nobody knows. American candymakers started getting involved in the 1860s, so the answer to our question, nobody really knows billions of dollars are spent on candy and more for Valentine's Day.

"valentine" Discussed on The Slowdown

"My mother was born on Valentine's Day, and because of that, I have oddly, always loved Valentine's Day. A day for candy hearts, cinnamon red hots, chocolate cake from the good bakery with my mom's name on top. When I was younger, I remember a ruckus birthday party full of friends and someone actually dressed up as Cupid. Valentine's Day could have been called my mom's day. As I got older, of course, the implications of Valentine's Day were hard to unravel from. There were the cards I'd stay up late filling out so that I could give one to everyone in my class. And there were the days when other kids got more Valentine's cards than me, and I'd sulk. But it wasn't until junior high, when we all suddenly graduated to single red roses and secret love notes. That's when Valentine's Day started to feel a little dangerous. There was risk involved, careful confessions and possible embarrassment. Still, despite the absurd marketing, the overwhelming sea of red plastic that takes over the grocery and pharmacy isles. I still love Valentine's Day. I have celebrated alone and with my girlfriends, I have celebrated with my mom for her birthday, and I've celebrated with past loves, and I've celebrated with my husband. Last year we watched the 90s classic movie singles, and 8 state we ordered from a downtown steakhouse, and at our best to celebrate with each other. I have friends who absolutely hate the day. D spies it. Hate every thickly sweet detail all the pressure of last minute flower purchases overpriced dinners for two, the toxic mylar red balloon hubbub, the rhyming cards, the fake deadline. For love. And I get that. I do. I can see through it as much as the next person, but I still believe that at its core, it's a day to recognize love. A day to send a note to someone. I, a new crush, make out, open champagne or sparkling apple cider, pop a cinnamon flavored gummy, and just remember for a moment that even if you're not in love at the moment, love exists. That even when we don't have love, there is the possibility of love. In today's poem we see the possibility of love taking on a new sense of longing. The speaker knows that the Valentine wish she is sending is a little like sending a spell. She wants the woman on the other end of that spell to fall in love with her. She knows the weight of this wish, and she knows the agony of waiting for an answer. And still, she's ready to send her Valentine into that great unknown of desire. A Valentine by Priscilla Jane Thompson. Out of the depths of a heart of love. Out of the birthplace of size, freighted with hope and freighted with fear, my all in a Valentine hive. Oh, frail little missive of delicate texture, speed thee on thy journey and give her a lecture. Fathom her heart that seems to me cold. Trouble her bosom as mine, let it be mutual, this that I crave. Her, yes, for a Valentine. Oh, frail little missive, in koi Cupid's keeping. Oh, speed back a message to set my pulse.

"Our final Valentine today is a kind of meet cute. It's gonna take a little setup. What you need to know is that we love surprising Greg rosalsky, who writes planet money's newsletter. Greg has these singular obsessions. And for our episode last year, that obsession was The Economist Raj chetty. So our colleagues brought Greg into the studio and just got him talking about why he loves Raj so much. Some people have LeBron James, other people have Taylor Swift. I've got Beyoncé. I have Raj. You have Raj. Raj is your personal Beyoncé. This is my personal guilt. If you could meet rash chetty. Y'all are at the same bar, you say hi and you buy him a beer and knock it just chat. What would be the first thing you'd say to him? Is Raj about to come on this Zoom call right now? Did you guys is he gonna surprise me? Rash, come on the line. Hey, Greg. Oh my God, Ross is here. No way. I love this. I'm so embarrassed. Also I'm so happy I'm in a closet and rajka and see my face right now. So that was last year. And this year, when we asked Greg, who, if anyone, he would consider sending his Valentine to. He told us there was no way he'd ever cheat on Raj chetty. When it comes to economists, he's a monogamist. But not too long after, he started talking about one of his other passions, extreme outdoor adventures. And he happened to bring up a different hero of his. Jimmy chin. He's a mountain sports photographer and filmmaker who's made big documentaries with his wife, Chi vace rally. They made free solo, which came out in 2018 and won the Oscar for best documentary, and more recently they made the rescue. And so out of our affection for Gregg and our joy and surprising him, we contrived an obscure reason to get him onto a Zoom call. And I'm going. Okay, so first thing I was a little worried that Greg would know what we were up to the minute I mentioned Jimmy chin. But it turns out that Gregg's total love for Jimmy overrides his naturally suspicious tendencies. So when I casually drop Jimmy's name, Greg immediately launched into a bromantic soliloquy. I have a huge man crush on him seriously. 'cause he's like a legit professional athlete who made a name for himself climbing mountains and doing all this crazy stuff. He skied off of Everest. And then he and then he starts making movies with his wife, free solo, the rescue. You never know. What if you were in just like Jackson hole and you just walked into a bar and you saw Jimmy, what do you think the first thing you'd say to him would be? I really thought that bar line would tip our hand. But no. I would be like a huge dork and I had fanboy and probably like humble myself. Jimmy you can come on out now. Are you serious? What the? Sorry. What is this? Greg, happy Valentine's Day. Oh my God. Wow. Like Jimmy. I think I just kind of embarrassed myself a little bit in front of you, but I'm a huge fan, obviously. I mean, I'm so I'm so honored that you follow the work. I'm totally moved. I have a question for you. When did you 'cause obviously you were a pro athlete, right? And a very distinguished one. Greg wasted zero time turning the whole situation, not only into a fanboy session, but an interview. I got to ask you one question because I asked Jimmy what it was like to survive a massive avalanche I only think of it as it wasn't my time. I can conceive of how I survived. They talked about cave diving like how extraordinarily risky it is compared to normal diving, which already has its own risks. And then finally, Jimmy popped the question. If you would honor me with being a potential Valentine over your favorite I don't know how tight of a race it is, but no, definitely, you're my Valentine this year, Jimmy chin. Awesome. "valentine" Discussed on Planet Money

"This is planet money from NPR. Alexei? Amanda, does your husband know where you are right now? Only sort of. Yeah. He knows he knows I've left the house. The other day I called up my colleague, Amanda arancini, as she was in the middle of a very important mission. I would call it like a mission of love. It's a mission of love is what this is. Amanda had just slept her way across Brooklyn, taken the subway and then walked some 15 blocks through the freezing rain with a handful of white tulips in hand. How are you feeling right now? How am I feeling? I feel like a little nervous? People don't always like surprises. But this is what Valentine's Day is for, right? Love surprises, flowers, that kind of thing? You have to be bold when it comes to love. Okay, I'm gonna be brave and I'm gonna be bold for planet money Valentine's Day episode. Okay, wish me luck. Good luck. Hello and welcome to planet money. I'm Alexei horwitz gazi, it is Valentine's season. And as longtime listeners will know, here on the show, we have made it our annual tradition to say yes to love. To gather up all the things out there in the world that inspire our affection or jealousy or admiration and bear our deepest feelings. Sometimes the thing we love is a piece of amazing journalism or a delightfully wonky economic concept, or in the case of Amanda Iran check this year. Hey, how are you? It's ball occasion for you. Thank you very much. A kind of Brazilian cheese bread. Because this cheesy bread has been Amanda's Beacon over the last few months. A delicious glint of light cutting through the dreary fog of another pandemic winter. And that is why Amanda found herself with a fistful of tulips, explaining our show to a server at Santo Brooklyn. The restaurant that makes her favorite delicacy. Okay, so my name is Amanda. I work for an NPR show called planet money. It's planet money, got it. And we do a Valentine's Day show where we profess our love for something, and I am professing my love to this restaurant. The love is also for the cheese bread. Oh my God. You guys, these flowers. Oh my God, that is so cute. I'd love to live. It's not funny, but it's still up to it. Today on the show, declarations of love, meet cutes and true bromance. Alex Haley, Toni Morris and Octavia butler and more. So listen, to the book of the day podcast from NPR. Hey Lexie, Kenny Malone, happy Valentine's Day. Happy Valentine's Day, Alexei, I have a Valentine I'm very passionate about this year. It is an economics paper. Would you like to hear about it? I'm excited to hear it. What are we talking? Well, it's not just any economics paper. This is the microeconomics paper of the year last year, according to the American economic journal. Oh, fancy. It is very fancy. And the reason I love it is because the author found this wonderfully clever way to test like a big economic theory that I feel like we take for granted, which is when retailers are forced to compete on a transparent and open marketplace. When all the information is out there, that it's better for consumers and prices should come down. Okay, I'm interested, go on. Okay, so this is, let me walk you through this. We're going to start first before we get to the paper with a screen share. I'm going to show you this website. Can you see my screen okay? Are you seeing okay, yes? Can you tell what we're looking at? Just generally. It's kind of like lo fi clunky government website, is that right? That is right. I'm looking here looks like, are these gas stations? I see. Yeah, yeah. Okay, yeah, what you are looking at is an official website run by the Chilean government because by law, if you are a Chilean gas station and you want to change your gas price, you have to log on to this very website and tell the world what your new gas price is. That is a rule. I think I've heard of crowdsourced versions of this app. This, this is legally enforced gas price posting. And so it is like a very good dataset to test out what happens when suddenly everybody has price information. Right. So remember, the big economic theory that we're like looking at says that here is what should happen once all that price information is out there. People who want to buy gas will look at all of these prices for the stations nearby them, and then they will go to the place with the cheapest gas, which means that the other gas stations nearby will also need to lower their price if they want to have their own customers. More price information empowers customers and it forces the gas stations to compete with each other. That's exactly right. And what I love about this paper is that it adds a beautiful twist into that general theory. Indeed, Alexei oh, indeed. Okay, so the author of this paper got a hold of another dataset that let them look like geographically at whether people did or didn't search for gas prices. Did people go and actually do comparisons? That's what they were able to check. Okay. And what they found was that when customers checked online gas prices a lot, yeah, like gas stations appeared to compete on price, gas prices stayed relatively low. Like the theory generally held. Makes sense. However, in places where people did not use that gas price information where they didn't go searching for it often. The exact opposite happened. Gas stations charged relatively more money, they made more money and this is like the most wonderful twist of it all. Do you want to guess why that was happening, Alexi? Or the gas station owners like using the same price data to collude in some way on the price? Yes. Yes, ish, right? So collude would mean like they called each other up and they're like, hey everybody, let's set our price. They didn't have to do that because everyone's price was out there. And so in these cases, where the customers weren't searching for gas prices, the gas station owners could like kind of ask, like, hey, wait a second. Everybody around me is charging more. Can I get away with charging more? And if the customers aren't going to punish them for charging more, then yeah, they can charge more, and they did charge more. Right. Okay, so is our big takeaway here that information is powerful. But that it maybe has some unintended consequences or something? Yeah, I think that's right. I mean, the reason that I want to give this paper my Valentine is because it puts a big asterisk next to this price and information theory. It says like, yes, knowing prices is incredibly powerful for consumers. But if consumers for some reason can not or do not use that price information, it can and will be used against them..

"Welcome to Sonya podcast. So Valentine's Day is around the corner. And because Valentine's Day is around the corner, we're gonna be doing something different. Normally I tell y'all on my other park has a sex do's and don'ts, and you know, I told you all, you know, don't be selfish. You know, she in love for Valentine's Day. But this time, I'm doing something different. Right. We are gonna be talking about what the astrology has a store for y'all. So let's get right into it. A quarter to astrology Alex. The Valentine day planetary placement this year would be especially impacted. This Valentine's Day is astrology very special. Initiate the Venus mosque conjunctions even more significant when you consider the deal was a Venus retrograde in Capricorn. As a particular and goal oriented earth sign from disseminating 2021 through January 29th, the planet backward motion and Capricorn encouraged folks to partner their most have any romantic relationship. So regardless of a person relationship status, their Valentine day, horoscope will likely align with romantic green flags that identify doing that time. That was from one astrologist. So here's lord Chung. She's another astrologer. That the Valentine days planetarian placement encourage all folks to reflect when they pass romantic experience. Specifically she asks people will benefit from accidents of what relationships have worked for them which has it and what they want. To take from each. If anything into their next romantic connection, so regardless of your relationship status though your Valentine day relationship horoscope will encourage you to consider what you want from your romantic life and to act in a way that assumes you'll get those days from potential or 6th or existing suitors. So single ready to mingle. A calling to call a single folks might expect to meet a stable catch this Valentine's Day. Especially if they feel safe mingling, so she's saying that if you feel like you can go out there and just mango, you might need something who wants special. You never know where you're able to find that person. So go out there and mingle. Since Venus retrograde occurs in Capricorn, Chong as that single folks may be thinking about how to best structure their romantic relationship for the long term. Coming out of a Venus retrograde isn't the time to find flames said John because such is a necessary align with all oriented capital energy. If you single more like for it to remain that way, do not might be a good time. Now might be a good time because consider what you want in lifetime partners so you can reference that when you're ready. Because of the cause and cosmetic energy on Valentine's Day, sink was my also started to take accountability for their action in past relationship. This had been an effort to figure out what they could have done better. So that they won't bring that into their next romantic relationship. So if you're in a relationship, Carl said this would be the time to talk about marriage. If that's something you're interested in, or any other forms of long-term commitment, for instance, perhaps you would want to make plans to travel with a person your data and even entertain the ideal moving in together. That's if you're in a relationship. And whether you're casually casually or seriously dating someone Valentine's Day is also the time to actually tough question. It's time to get real. It's just a person giving you what you want for the long term or not. A lot of people are releasing things that won't allow them to have intimate relationship and people whose relationship status is dating full squarely into that camp. For instance, it is important that it's an important to you that your partner has high emotional maturity. But you realize the person you're dating doesn't display that. It may be time to part ways or at least seriously consider the future. Of the relationship. If you've gotten to know the other party and says that they're emotionally mature, it could be worth having a conversation about where things are headed. That's for the people that's in a relationship. Merry people. Kyle said this could be the time you solved substantial goals since a contract or even put money down on a new home. If you already did, this could be the time you started college fund for your kids, nevertheless, Valentine is a good opportunity for married people to get on the same page about 5 minutes. And an effort to manifest the life they want for themselves. That if folks died and not hastily, they might question whether the arrangement actually suits them. A lot of people are waking up to the fact that the things that gave us security and safety, like a job in a person that no longer holds up now. And the reason is not to sound gloom. That married people can expect a significant change, which can be positive or negative. We live in a doll universal, it's either going to make people feel more in love or is going to make people who are not in love show that even more. So that is our Valentine horoscopes for single people in a relationship if you're married. And I hope that everyone has a wonderful Valentine. Just me learning to trust god in the middle of hurts doubts and fears. I'm so grace. Welcome to the show. I am so excited to be on the show. Thank you so much for having me. Yeah you're welcome So we just got a copy of your book a couple of days ago. And as i started reading it right away in the introduction. Something you said jumped out at me because it's tied so closely to our message that we share every other week here on our show and you said i'm not the kind of person you would expect to write a book about faith in life. Perhaps that's what makes god so cool. He uses people like you and me to bring him glory. He's are mistakes and mess ups to make his name. Great and i thought that was just a beautiful introduction to who you are and so i was wondering as we get started if you could give her audience a little bit about your background and you know not necessarily dive too deep into your mistakes mess ups but if you want to you can but how god captured your life and got you to where you are today. Yeah well i mean so part of the reason. I wanted to write books. In general i remember being in high school and going to the bookstore in my book books or that. I love the barnes and noble right by my house like a gas station. The best is e. So i remember riding my bike..

"A guy like john candy movies and i was so pissed when he i was oh rob. I loved his care. I mean when he gets shot in the head. I know man do i. Just there was some characters okay but then there was some that i really really cared. I mean that. I'm like no don't don't don't kill this one. That was the thing you don't know who the hell is going gonna get killed so kept you guessing on that. I like the scene where the killers fighting the other guy with the shovel. Although i think that could have been choreographed a little bit better yet. That could have been a little bit better. Especially wet seems staged. When when they're on on the train i was like. Oh yeah that was bad. Cut that whole scene out but that was you know what i think. Well there wasn't like something l'altro it's like. It was difficult to do because they run a moving This moving cars and it's like okay. You know. I don't want to hurt somebody so you know you gotta make sure we. Do you know what i'm saying so you had to do the fight choreography right now. Moving and i don't wanna slip into fall so it's like all these things going on and it just looked like they were doing their best at like the had the actual actors doing it. I don't think they hit stunt right. Oh they still had like a two million dollar budget and that was that time i mean come on. You can't afford it. But i just stunt coordinator come on yeah. It just didn't work very well. Let it ride did because i was enjoying the movies so much. And it's one of those things like like we've talked about a thousand times like living dead and all these movies where it's like okay. Clearly the hand didn't even touch his cheek. We fear slap okay. It was the same thing with this with this fight scene. you know. i like the fact that he was fighting back. Can head to shovel on it but you could tell it was very awkward and it just didn't and just kept reminding me that this was made in nineteen ninety-one completely different time. I know you have to be a little more forgiving. What i really like about the film is every time they show chocolates that you had a. There's a possibility that there's a real heartens. Yeah oh yeah. You didn't know what was in there so great so when they kept showing it to the one time the guy gets The box of candies but this time it had plastic over. So i was like. There's no hardener. When he opened up there was chocolates in areas. Like ooh. yeah do the. I just love what he like what he wrote in the little like the first. Kill some roses a rabbi. Somebody died somebody is dead and story. I mean it was like lower you. I like the no. I love that i love. That was a nice touch. What i what. I found what was like interesting was You know the scene when he goes outside and there's boxes of candies with hartson. It and the dogs are trying to eat them. Yeah yeah and he's trying to shoot the dogs away in the one dog come back like i didn't look that was staged. I'll because at dog look like you really wanted to bite the guy. Yeah whatever yeah so like. I don't know if they're recalling the dog and the dog didn't listen or all. Gotcha yeah because talk was not having it. He wasn't running away. He was like all right. I'm gonna i want to eat dude. You're not taking my food. Who's this talking to bite him. Some dogs if you take their food away man. I'm gonna play. I mean that's that's a big deal can't do that so they the work that i was just like. I thought that was interesting. I'm like they left it in. I'm like that's cool. Yeah yeah. I mean there were parts of this film that i'm like wow i just yeah i just. It was just again. I just cared about the characters. Oh how about that that scenes on torture now seen when the guy no. The girls are cooking the hotdogs heart in there and clog. Yeah oh and they're like ooh that must've been such and such whatever dying laughing. Yeah yeah that was good. I enjoyed. I did not see the remake Good it's been a while check it out and it's been a long time since i've seen this movie. I think i saw like on video when it came out around eighty to. It's a long time for you to. Yeah i i remember bits and pieces of it but i just remember the i really liked to killer because the killers got this. You know light on top of his that. Yeah so you can't really see who it is. So you're kinda i like the fact that when they went into the tunnel they a couple of the guys that similar hats on helmet idea who the killer. You don't know who's coming and going and could be the killer might not be. I love that which was great. Which was kind of like reminiscent of happy death. They had the same mask or halloween halloween. But no but not everybody had the you know the same mask so anybody the mask and be the killer and this is the same thing that's happening in my bloody valentine because that's like the guys are wearing the suits that color wearing but they're not the same question your like it could be any one of those two guys. 'cause he's brian suits or it's a third guy. 'cause that you know is so you don't know love that park. Yeah that was great so it was really cool and then the but then there's there's things in the film that i don't know i just don't make sense again. You just let it go yet. Like the one guy is setting up a fake dummy with the with the pickaxe and he keeps open up the door. I remember the houses. And he's like. Oh i got to open it again and killer and then eventually the killer shows up at like four or five times like really okay anyway. No i knew that was gonna happen so set up but the guy wouldn't leave you know so i'm like yeah. You deserve to be killed. Come on and i liked him too. He was the one trying to warn everybody. I just loved these characters. I really did just everybody in his movie. I don't want to. I'm sorry. I just you know. I've just seen so many movies right. It's like the these throwaway characters. I don't really care. I'd lay died. Okay i just don't give a shit. I have totally grew. And and what's and what's actually believable in the film is the is the two guys that are fighting over the girl. Yeah totally believe. It's a small town and the work together so of course they're going to butt heads in there watching the wind guys watching you know the guy haven't phone with this girl that he's still in love with and he's playing the games like he's writing the same bar the tensions right. They're looking into other ones going. Who woman.

And oh wow amazing. So it's just a straight comedy then. It's not it's a comedy. Yeah but it's got a zombie movie of course and he'd seen them all. It's very gory. Very very it's actually a really good time movie but it's fucking hilarious. Oh my guess is so similar very similar Style yeah so it mixes in comedy okay and then throws in some drama and i mean just like any other. Christopher landon movie has yeah has a little bit heart to it. And oh my god in the in the The actors in this movie are fucking amazing. Thing is amazing. I was really blown away. Another one of those movies where he got duped on the trailer little bit too or maybe a lot of it. I don't know I never parts that. I absolutely loved. K okay goes one of those dan. There were parts that i'm like. It really just seemed forced and it was just a little amateur yet. Just not not believable. I don't even know how to explain it. It's just trying to be movie with a horror theme. Is that with the problems. Because that's what it looked like in the trailer yeah. I love the premise. The premise was great. It was like baba duke esque. If i said that bubba do. Yeah yeah so you see new. Yes i did. Oh okay. where'd that come from. Wow well but you have to stay there. I haven't seen the movie. But i know what you're talking about so in this doesn't give anything away. You can tell us from the trailer but you know the kids. I'm using a lot of friends. So he reads the story on his phone. And it's basically inviting this creature into his into the real world duke.
