Cartel Hitman Who Decapitated Enemies Goes Missing From a US Prison

"So there is a quote notorious drug cartel leader and hitman who is suspected of torturing and decapitating dozens of his victims. His name is Edgar, Val dalles, via real. Valdez. I guess I'm going to have to learn how to say Spanish because I'm going to be speaking in ten years, right? So I'm going to have to work on my Spanish pronunciations. 49 years old. And we had him in custody or have him in custody, but nobody seems to know because he is vanished from the federal prison database. He was not up for release until 2056. Now, I read this story before we traded Brittany griner, right? And I thought, wow, that's weird. Must be a clique. Clerical error. Now that I saw the trade that Biden made for Brittany griner, glad you saw him. Glad we brought an American home. I was a lot of good trade. That's a bad deal. That was a bad, bad deal. Bad deal. We released the merchant of death. So in exchange for one American that they're holding, we left the two white guys over there. Just saying. And so this guy has just vanished. He's now listed as not in BOP, bureau of prisons, custody on the bureau of prisons, website. Now the BLP says that it released a Valdez via real on November 27th. Now why would you release them if he's not up for release until 2056? The bureau though frequently lists as released when they've been transferred to the custody of another group. Huh. So who would we have released him to that's not in the U.S. federal bureau of prisons database?

"Axios reports that new polls out suggest the Republicans are taking the lead in two of Florida's most highly watched races, Ron DeSantis is leading Charlie Crist by almost ten points, senator Marco Rubio is leading Democrat Val demings by 6 points, that's one race. Another nationally, we've got our eyes on Georgia. We got our eyes on Pennsylvania. As the daily caller points out, Democrats can not afford to lose a single U.S. Senate seat. In Wisconsin, Ron Johnson. Climbing to the top of his race in Pennsylvania, Doctor Oz has a ton of momentum. Johnson is polling. And again, I'm sorry to read poll numbers to you, but it also is important that you get a reality check and not believe the garbage from the left that the Democrats are going to retain control of the House and the Senate. That is not a certainty by any stretch of the imagination.

"Between oppressors and the oppressed. Val concluded that we can not separate environmentalism from social justice struggles. This is a core theme in her 1993 publication, feminism and the mastery of nature, which demonstrates the effect this dualism has on traditional western thought and practices. Val's affection and knowledge of the environment grew even deeper after she and Richard divorced. The two had built a stone house in a rainforest in southern Australia, and after their divorce, Val continued to live there by herself. Being so embedded in nature lent itself to vows, interest in botany and animal behaviors. During this time, Val changed her last name to plumwood. The name of the mountain where she lived. The mountain itself was named after the plumwood tree, a species local to the area. In February of 1985, vow would come face to face with the power of nature she felt so at home in. On a warm, rainy day, she was canoeing along the backwaters of the kakadu national park. Hoping to find an Aboriginal rock art site. She had been warned about the crocodiles, but kept to safer waters. Still, she felt uneasy. And after coming across a different rock formation, she decided to head back. Paddling down the channel, Val spotted what appeared to be a floating stick in her path. When she realized the stick had eyes and it was actually a saltwater crocodile. It was too late. A crocodile struck her canoe again and again, she attempted to escape, but the crocodile grabbed her in its jaws, dragging her underwater. She later wrote, I was seized between the legs in a red hot pincer grip and world into the suffocating wet darkness. Val endured three crocodile death rolls in the water before she was able to get away. With severe injuries, Val crawled for hours into the night before she came across help. The attack landed her in the intensive care unit.

"This month, we are highlighting eco warriors. Women fighting for conservation and ecological justice. Today, we are talking about an environmentalist and philosopher who went against the grain. She was a pioneering thinker in ecofeminism. She believed that the western human centric approach to life devalued nature and she advocated for an alternative, more expansive way of life. Let's talk about Val, plumwood. Val plumwood was born vow morale on August 11th, 1939 in Sydney, Australia. She was born into a family of meager means, her parents owned and operated a small poultry farm in the northern suburbs of Sydney. When the farm failed, the family moved to colroy, Sydney, so that her father could find work. They eventually landed in the southern suburb called cog ra, and here Val was a top student at saint George girls high school. With an academic scholarship, Val attended the university of Sydney, where she studied philosophy. In 1958, she married fellow student John McCrae. Their marriage did not last long as financial and emotional burdens took a toll on the young couple. They had two children during their brief marriage, both of whom tragically died young, and after their divorce, Val returned to the university and graduated with honors in 1965. Toward the end of her undergraduate studies, vow met and married her second husband, Richard Rowley. They traveled around the world before settling down back in Australia. Upon their return, Val and Richard became involved in the Australian environmental protection movement. They advocated for preserving biodiversity and stopping deforestation. Val was part of a group of philosophers at the Australian national university who formed the first wave of Australian environmental philosophy. In the 1970s, Val and Richard studies contributed to the development of the discipline of environmental humanities. This was an area of study that used human centered questions about values, ethics, and culture to confront environmental issues. Val and Richard, co authored a number of papers tackling anthropocentrism, the belief that humans are the most important entity in the universe. Vows background in philosophy and her love of nature, culminated in a question that she would spend the rest of her life wrestling with. Is there a need for a new and environmental ethic?.

"Well, he doesn't really have much choice about whether or not he answers the complaint that was filed against him, which of course he did answer. And of course, he did demand a jury trial, but that is really not what much of the press has made it out to be. Because in New York in a federal case, if one party demands a jury trial and Virginia did demand one in her complaint, then the other party is going to be subjected to a jury trial. And so he might as well just say, I demand it, which he did. Because if he demanded a bench trial, meaning one by the court, he would have had to have a jury trial anyway. Now, as to the question of the settlement, would you posed? That's always an option that can be explored in a civil case than the discussions of settlement are confidential. We are now in the position where it's being litigated publicly. And her attorney is saying that she wants vindication and essentially he's saying that that would have to be a very large number and amount of money that he would have to pay to settle it. And it appears that the next step is going to be having his deposition, his testimony under oath, taken, and that will be in the UK. Probably in the next few months. We should also say virginity for a claim she was trafficked by the convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and gilley Maxwell to have sex with Prince Andrew three times when she was a teenager. The Duke of York has consistently vehemently denied those allegations. The papers filed by Prince Andrew's the latest papers that we know about filed by his legal counsel contained 41 separate denials of claims made by virginity fray in August of last year. In terms of how you see this playing out, I know it's speculation at this point, but you have a long history of these sorts of cases. It's notable that the lawyer representing Virginia has said they'll only accept a settlement if it held Andrew to account. What do you think could happen next? And how do you interpret those words about holding him to account? I translate that to Virginia's asking for a very large amount of money. It may be 7 figures. It may even be 8 figures, okay? It's definitely going to be in the millions. No question about that. In my mind, so they want this to be a public litigation. That is Virginia does. And of course, she's entitled to that. She has a right to have a public trial if the case doesn't settle. And of course, every trial in a civil case is a public trial. Yes. And so she'll get that if that's what you want. Now, does she really want that? We don't really know that's what the reports have been also mixed on because there have been some reports which say, if he continues to deny he ever met her, regardless of whether he agrees to a financial settlement, that will not be good enough for her. There has to be some kind of admission that even though he's consistently denied this. Now, when he has his deposition taken by the legal team for Virginia. They're going to pin him down as much as possible. He's not going to be able to just kind of skate around and avoid and evade, try to have some kind of answer, that really is not an answer. To the questions. Because they get to follow up. It's not going to be softball, as they say..

"But Sharon did something really sweet. You know, she caught wind of the attention that the documentary about Val Kilmer is getting. It's wonderful. I see it on Amazon Prime. And she spoke to, I think People magazine, because she and Val Kilmer dated between 82 and 84, and she told us some things that I think are cute. And I wish more celebrities would do things like this because it makes them more normal. She said they even had nicknames for each other that ranged from cute early bird special Denny's couple to safe words used by a dominatrix. Whatever it's shared talking, but she said they called themselves Sid and Ethel. And Val didn't want to yell share. And she didn't want to yell Val. So they also called themselves valis maximus and sheriffs reprimand us. Funny shit. If you see the video, if you see the series, you'll know that Val, I'm sorry, the documentary, you'll know how very, very smart Val Kilmer is.

"Val Demings on what still needs to happen following the January 6th insurrection. We, as a nation need to put more resource is into combating white supremacy, domestic terrorism and he crimes and tracking Hollywood and diversity on our weekly round table, sipping the political team. Tomorrow morning at nine on KCRW. Welcome to life examined on KCRW. I'm Jonathan Bastian. Throughout history. There have often been a group of people who believe that the end of the world as they know it is just around the corner. According to one survey conducted in 2020, nearly one in five Americans said they believed a global pandemic would be the most likely cause of an apocalypse. The same number of pointed to climate change and only slightly fewer, said a nuclear war It's no coincidence. Therefore, that apocalyptic fervor coincides with times of chaos and uncertainty but can preparing for an apocalypse provide a degree of comfort? And is America the natural home for today's modern day survivalist? In his latest book, called Notes From an Apocalypse, A Personal Journey to the End of the World and Back. Irish author Mark O'Connell explores the survivalist destinations around the globe. He also examines why people or preppers is they're called, feel the need to go to extreme lengths to get ready for the end of time. From luxury underground bunkers to garage a stuffed with canned goods, water and gasoline. O'Connell notes that this movement has as much to do with fantasy as it does with fear. Arc. O'Connell, Welcome to life examined. Well, thank you for having me. Let's talk a little bit about the history of survival is, um is this 1/20 century phenomenon or something that really goes far back into history? Survivalism per se is in the kinds of, I guess. Doomsday prepper kind of movements that I look at it in my book is I think very much. A kind of modern contemporary phenomenon, But you know, it has has its roots in, I guess cyclical kind of moments of apocalyptic fervor that have cropped up really throughout history. You know, it's been It's been something that tends to Rear, its head. The idea of the apocalypse that I think times of particular kind of social and political upheaval is when the idea of the apocalypse the mid to sort of Apocalyptic myths tend to be something that people kind of grab onto as a way of explaining, I suppose the sense of chaos and uncertainty around the future. Hmm? It almost seems like psychologically the human mind is drawn to this idea of end of times on bits, one kind of thematically that just plays out over and over again. Yeah. I mean, I guess you know, to put it in sort of sort of pop psychological terms. I guess we are creatures who thrive on bond move through the world via stories were kind of narratives. I telling creatures on day One of the things that the apocalypse does is, it creates a sense of narrative. The literary critic Franka Mode has an amazing book called a sense of an ending. He talks about the fact that we're born is, he says in the midst of things were born kind of invidious rest on. We have no sense of really where we came from where we're going. On. But the apocalypse does is that it allows us to kind of project ourselves into an end, so it gives a kind of a sense of narrative coherence to times of chaos and uncertainty. It's really interesting, and it also makes me think that we each perhaps like to think that we're living in the most radical of times or that this is the era in which it could happen. I think there's almost a nin Flay shin In the sense of self in time and culture, that that this is the moment because of course this is this is the time in which we're alive right that everything feels heightened because this is This is when this is when we're on this planet. Yeah, That's right. I mean, we kind of like to flatter ourselves. I suppose. By leaving that we're the ones who will witness the end. And it's you know, it's it's kind of an understandable psychological impulse in a way where the special ones where the chosen one to get to see how the whole thing kind of winds up So there's a kind of a narcissism to that. I suppose, in a way as you began this kind of grand exploration into Survivalism, um Did you find that in the US This was a particularly The feelings were fervent here that this is where a lot of the action was taking place. Yeah, for sure. I mean, so I started the book really looking at the sort of whole scene of doomsday preppers and people who were You know, digging book bunkers and stockpiling tinned goods. And, yeah, you know, talking about the the imminence of the end times, and that's a It's an international movement a lot of ways their preparation. In Ireland and in Britain and across Europe. But really the most kind of fervent and intense stuff tends to come kiss unsurprisingly. Out of the U. S. And there's I think a couple of reasons for that one of which is that America seems to me to be A country with a particularly kind of intense relationship historically and culturally, with the apocalypse.
