"Leaders and parents know how to help individuals who are seeking forgiveness and repenting and seeking to access the atonement of Jesus Christ in their life. Yeah, and I think this is a good place to emphasize that and maybe I should have done it earlier, but just at the end of the day, it's fun to ask these questions and consider scriptures and whatnot. But at the end of the day, it's going to be that stake president sitting with that member who's maybe going to know or that communication through the keys and authority of the holy ghost and whatnot that these answers will come. And have faith in that and be assured in that I just hope that a lot of leaders focus on that speedily. How could we get them back in these covenants as quickly as possible? Because there is strength there. There is transformation there. And the sooner we get them there, that transformation can continue. I don't think the lord is pleased. With long drawn out repentance. I think he expects us to be speedily done. And it depends on the individual, depends on where they're at in their relationship with the savior, then depends upon the sins, of course, and depends upon victims and so many other circumstances. But he encourages speedily repenting. And another thing that we should touch on in this discussion occurred if I can is the question I think I got more than anything else is a branch present, the missionary training center is a bishop in stake presidencies and teaching this course for ten years at Utah valley. Students would ask students and members, how can I know when I'm forgiven? Great question. That's what they wanted to know more than anything else is how can I know when I'm forgiven? It's a really simple answer. It's not easy to identify. But it's a really simple answer. And I used to always refer to president eyring's quote. When you feel the holy ghost in your life, you know the atonement is doing its work. The atonement of Jesus Christ is working in your life when you feel the holy ghost. I love to paraphrase elder christofferson when he taught that the holy ghost is the messenger and the administrator. Of the atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives. So I used to really get frustrated and I know my students did too.

"Came to me and I helped him kind of put together a syllabus and an outline and he's had a lot of success teaching that class and one day we were talking and we both kind of said, you know, maybe we should do a podcast on this. Nice. So it's kind of a podcast on the course that I taught and we're just doing it and I think mostly my motivation Kurt was to have a digital record for my family of course that I taught for many years that priesthood leaders had kind of invited me to put together and as a result it's been really a blessing in my life and I hope it isn't theirs. Now long career in church education. Yeah, I retired a few years ago from S and I, seminaries and Institutes after 39 years of teaching seminary for 12 years and then being in administrative and institute assignments. I was taught to 12 years in American in the seminary and then went back to the Midwest and was the area director back in the Midwest and was there for 13 years then I came back here and ended my career being the institute director at Utah valley. Nice. Now, we're going to talk about the concept and the doctrine of repentance and forgiveness and all those things. We'll just do quickly in an hour, no problem. But it ties into the elder Henderson's recent book, the divine gift of forgiveness. And that sort of connects with the course that you developed at Utah valley university. So where does that story begin? Maybe unpack that. Yeah, so he actually came to the institute. Yes. He was actually showing his daughter and his granddaughter around the campus. His granddaughter wanted to go to school there. And it would happen to be on a Monday afternoon evening, and I was in the building and it was kind of interesting how I came around the corner and there was elder Anderson.

"It's different than a lot of denominations, right? Where you have this sort of geographic way that we're organized, we end up rubbing shoulders with all kinds of different people at church that are different than us, right? Even here in Utah valley, right? There's a lot of different opinions and attitudes and backgrounds in award. And it's really easy to just fall into the assumption that everybody experiences things the same way that you do. And it doesn't take too much asking around to realize that's not the case. Yeah. And when creating a experience do you is it fair to say human nature wants to default to the practical? For example, winter COVID where Zoom church was introduced. Streaming church, whatever you want to call it. And a lot of people are saying, well, that was great, very convenient, very practical. I can give you a list of reasons why we should keep doing that. And some leaders are like, no, no, no, you got to come to church and we're going to create an experience here. Easy to just default to practicality when it comes to experience. I think it sort of depends, right? But I think let me draw a parallel to how organizations are grappling with employee experience right now, right? So many, many people worked from home during COVID. And now you see organizations trying to figure out what happens next. So Elon Musk recently came out and said, everybody needs to be back in the office, right? Like if you're not here, you're out of here. Other organizations have said, yeah, we're going to have some type of flex policy or it's going to be all remote or it's so you see all of these different opinions. And I think we've had similar conversations in the church and wars, right? And I think rather than just saying, it needs to be one way or the other, or this is better, or this isn't. I think a question to ask is, what type of experience is best for which type of channel? In terms of like we have multiple different delivery channels. And most experiences are multichannel, right? You think about how often you use your.

"You call it out of that. I really, this is a blind spot for me. I really don't. I don't know who the higher. And that's hard for me because I am a big proponent of it doesn't matter if you fire a coach who's not getting it done if you don't have the right candidate lined up next. Were you tossed a fan, so we know all about that. And I don't know who they might have their sights on, I want it to be someone who can bring energy exuberance and enthusiasm. All of the E words into that group. Because it is hard, it's hard for a group, I mean, those 5 rookies got drafted to a team that they knew was bad for the last half decade. And their players who were just in the final four competing for a championship, they want to win basketball games. It's hard to go into a place where you marry and Stanley was in the last year of her contract, the writing was kind of on the wall that she wasn't going to be around the next season anyway. Now you've got an interim head coach. I think you need to get someone in there who can really galvanize everyone and say, I'm here with you to grow with you for the long haul and when meaningful basketball games. So in my head, they go somewhere maybe not with loads and loads of experience, but somewhere young and exciting and fast paced. But maybe that's the way off. I don't know. Do you have some with you said you had a name in mind? Well, yeah, there was one name I thought I had mine, but first I think the main thing that popped out to a lot of people that may definitely happen, someone who has a pedigree already in as a head coach in the WNBA, but has currently over the last 5 seasons being working among I believe three different NBA teams and NBA teams is Jenny busic. So was an interim head coach with the storm, then I believe coached with the monarchs for a minute, yeah, but yeah, she's head coach for the monarchs in 2007 to 2009. Then stepped in 2015 to 2017 with the storm, which the storm won the title in 2018, they were a playoff team in 2017. That was, of course, when they picked up, they moved on to Dan. But she, in that 2015 and 2017, she coached a rookie Jew Lloyd, she coached a rookie Stewart. She coached several different young players, so the idea of coming in and actually molding a young roster is something she seems to know with. She had a time as an assistant with the Sacramento Kings, the Dallas Mavericks, which actually is another one that really stands out in terms of, I believe she was there during, for instance, I can't believe I just forgot his name. Luka Dončić, he's young stage. Young notable player is something that she has pedigree with. And has spent the last season with the Indiana Pacers, so there's an Indiana tie there already. I think that's the name that's going to get dandy at about a lot. We'll see how it goes. Her WNBA coaching stint wasn't as high level successful as it could have been. Granted with the monarchs, that was unstable. That was a that was a franchise that was out the door at the time she took over. The storm were on the up as she stepped out, a new coach stepped in and they immediately won a title. So I think that there's moves there. I really, in my mind, I'm curious if the fever or who give Walt Hopkins a second chance as well. That's an interesting thought. You know he's had, he's been able to elevate a young team from almost no wins to near playoff contention recently. That's a good history. And I want you to start with New York and by the way, I don't necessarily think New York is immediately out of the running as a team right now, but they moved on. They picked up rondell, who definitely felt like a higher up for sure. And they feel very much like they're starting like they've been. And that actually kind of could help Walt's stock if that sounds weird just to be like, maybe this actually makes it clear that I might have done a better job as the coach of liberty of the people. And also, I don't know if it's just almost any sport I can think of. Indiana and New York really, really love sports pettiness. I'm not just talking about I feel like any league or any organization even college where the state of New York and Indiana can be mixed. They always find a way to chip at each other a little bit. And that would be a fun one for the fever to say, we're going to pick up Walt and he's going to take us where we want to go. Obviously, when it comes to player development, that's very much his bag. And we know that firsthand when we talk to him when he was an assistant for Minnesota, he very much had that in mind. And I always have to call out that we also were talking about former Utah valley university assistant coach. So he clearly has the resume. That's just a local call out for us. But so like busik was one Walt was definitely a call out that made some sense. I think that there's a high roster of potential assistant coaches across the league that could make some sense. I think one other name that has been bandied about has been out of IU, Terry Moore and there are people that are saying that the fever may make a big push for more in after Indiana's performance in the most recent NCAA tournament. They may try to make that work. I just don't know how you're going to pull more and away from you right now. I just don't know how that's you're building a pretty good thing right now. I think the university of Indiana is going to be a very, very good team for quite a while in my opinion after what we saw the last couple seasons. And I think.

"That. I know it's juicy, but I think they're going to jump all over Portland. Final NBA game is a total yikes. Raptors thunder under two O 6 and a half Oklahoma City. You don't need me to really dive in too much, how bad the offense has been this year, 30th and scoring, 30th and scoring on the road where they're only averaging 95 points per game, 14 and 9 to the under this season as a result. Toronto has been very good defensively, but more importantly, they played a very slow pace 28 and offensively, they're still trying to find their way in their 23rd in scoring. They don't put up a ton of points because of the pace under two O 6 and a half raptors thunder. All right, good stuff. You know, a good going back to that first to 20. It makes sense. So smaller sample size, more randomness. So first half for something first quarter $3 and then less than first quarter in theory, the 20, that's why it's all kind of commensurate with the concept. First bucket would be the cheapest, right? Right. Good, let's go to college. What's your college play? TCU minus three over Utah. Utah's played two tough opponents all season, right? They play TC or excuse me, they play BYU and they play USC. They lost by 11 as a one point dog to BYU. They lost by 20 as a 7 and a half point dog to USC. So they beat up on the inferior competition when they step up in class. They've struggled this year. TCU plays in a very slow tempo. They have a very strong defense, especially in the paint. That's something that's going to be tougher, you thought to overcome TCU also, I'm expecting some positive regression in the three point department. They have not been able to buy a bucket from deep. 14 of 59 over their last three games, which is 23%. I think you factor that in as well. Game's going to be in Fort Worth, TCU minus three over Utah. Okay, so yesterday we got a winner on the podcast with Bowling Green. And away from the show, the best bet with Cal baptist. So not exactly college powerhouses, but I'm going to pass another one along. And I do like display the more I think about it. But again, you know, it's like it was a close win with Bowling Green. Southern Utah lane four and a half now. Utah. Yeah, you taught valley at the big win, right? Against BYU biggest winning probably program history. And but they've had four overtime games, and they're four zero in those games. The record's a little misleading. I think southern Utah is kind of been great that last year there were 20 and four and this is a good spot at home with one team off the biggest win in program history. Now, it was a week ago, not like three days ago, but I'm laying the four and a half. All right, I like it. I like where you're at on that one. I'd love to give you a note, but I got nothing on southern Utah right now. I apologize. You're not up on them. Southern Utah Utah valley. I'm quite flat footed as they say. I pass along my info. That's what I brought my vow to all the listeners and viewers at home of the show. I passed along my way through my resources. That's what we do. And we appreciate it very much. All right, that's gonna do it. Joe, good stuff is always. We'll see you in the studio 6 eastern on ESPN2 again. Yesterday, I'm going off memory. I think we did well with best bets. "Adani and, you know, obviously I had you in mind, you know, well before the news of the day, But I do think I always appreciate your perspective. I do think you are a good person to talk to on a day like this. Uh, you know, Clay Helton was certainly a colleague of yours ever since you've you've been here, so I'm sure you've gotten to know him. But you also know this business and the old cliche of coaches are hired to be fired kind of thing and You know what that's like, So just, you know, you're sort of thoughts on the news of the day. You know, it's always tough to lose colleagues. Um, but at the end of the day, you know, like we tell our players some some decisions are out of your hands, and this decision came from above and you know, it's we understand what it is when we get into it. Um, we understand that there will come a day where we will no longer be in the seat. And while we're in it, we try to impact the people that were working with trying to help change lives. Uh, ultimately win win some games. And and, um as this move comes, you know, you know the The team will be resilient. Um, clay will be resilient and we'll all move forward and hopefully be better for it. Coach. You guys are into this thing already, three and two on the year and the on the young year hero. Tell us about the team this year. What have you seen from from your squad? And what can we see? What can we expect when we start moving into conference play? Uh, you know what? That they've been pretty good, you know, despite their coach scheduled a lot of games on the road. Um, no, it's it's been a good year. We've got a lot of young new talent to add to a group that played in the spring, so it was a quick turnaround. Um I'll like what our young players are doing. I think they're fitting in. And one of the things we did in the off season was really trying to evaluate when we had our best teams. Probably our 2016 R 2018 teams or probably two of our best teams. They were our deepest teams. And this team is falling in line that same sort of fashion thanks to this new crop of freshmen and thanks to the leadership of the upper class room that have come back, we've got some quality. Um, veterans returning as well. Coach is still in nonconference play two losses early, your team bounces back. You still got a few more nonconference games ahead of you. What do you What areas? Are you looking for your your girls to grow and before you get into a conference play Well, uh, the road has taught us a lot. We play some quality teams Pepperdine, BYU, Michigan, western Michigan, all on the road, Utah Valley all on the road. All, uh, pretty much tournament teams. And so for us, we learned a lot in terms of our discipline are detail and one of the things that I really was impressed with our group with Um, coming out of the Michigan swing. We finally pushed back in a really big game. Last year. We had some tough ones that we let go late that we were in front. We have the We have the front foot. We should have won the game. We push back the fight. We had that fight. We had the confidence to to step up and push back and take the Michigan game and ultimately carried into Western Mission game. So I'm looking forward. More of that. More of that that I mean, our hashtag is Brash, bold, brave. I want them to be that I want them to operate In that vein, you're listening to Adani McAlpine, head coach for USC Women's Soccer and the Women of Troy have a couple games this week at Santa Barbara on Thursday, and then you can catch him at home. Here at McAllister against Cal State Northridge on Sunday. It's senior day could only does this sort of a cool thing he has seen today in the middle. So great opportunity, you know, maybe lose focus at the end of the year. I know my coaching standpoint, that that's where your head is a little bit. But you know, I was at your first game only home game you played so far right? The peppered I'm game and I've talked to you about this before. You know, Soccer is we talked with the fine margins of sports, But no sport is like soccer. Because one goal means so much and so how? How hard is it? You know, all these coaches talk about the process and focus on the process and and, you know, maybe the process more than the result. How hard is how important is that to do in soccer? When you get games where you're hitting posts, and you're on the frame, and you know, and then they get one chance and they finish it and you lose. I mean, those It happens all the time at all levels of this sport. But I mean, you don't you don't you don't go with hair sobs this pull your hair out. But maybe that's why you got to shake that. There is a reason right having to pull it. No, I mean, ultimately, you know, it's a long play type thing. Um, you know, seven setting the schedule. You knew you had some difficult games. Some games that Could cost you. You'd rather learn lessons while winning. But every now and then you gotta learn some tough lessons while losing and and and that pepper nine game, even the BYU game being on the road and another really hostile environment, not getting a couple calls from the referees. But we still have to. If you're going to be great, you have to fight through those moments. You have to stay together. You have to find a way to communicate, um that that that energy into your group even when things get rough and From for for me as a coach. Um, yes, it's difficult. I like winning all the games. Yes, um, but at the end of the day, as long as we're continuing to grow toward the end of the season I can stand it a tough loss, um, knowing that at the end, we're going to try to put a position ourselves for the national tournament and then win six in a row. Coach We've had Penelope Hocking on and you know Savannah's mellow one of your studs on the team who are some of the other names that you know you want bands really know about who who kind of have stepped up this year and you look forward to as a career progresses. Well, you know, you can't leave off or Bethune. She's done well, really, really well early in her career, she's talented, super talented, helps leader offense, but some of these young players that I think people should know Simone Jackson. You just had JJ on his daughters is doing. They're good. People are happy Dad over there to help him out. But she's she's playing. She's dynamic. I want to come on and I set him up. I set him up for you, JJ. Keep people put it right in there. At least I was aware enough one. Um, but but no Aaliyah Farmer Aaliyah farmers played fantastic as a young, uh, center midfielder holding down the center of the park. Um, Brooklyn. Courtnall has done extremely well as a centre back which two of the hardest position to come into a team and play. I think they've done Brilliant in that role. So those are a couple more players than I think we need to lock in on. But honestly, um, our team is deeper and better. You're going to find a lot of.

I just I saw that the mayor in Salt Lake mandated Salt Lake schools. Yes, she did have math. Mm. And I'm hoping that They do it statewide. Oh ho ho. You're funny. I know. I know. I know that would take a lot. Yeah. Who Who? Who would I? Who would that be? That would be Jesus. Jesus, No. Jesus, Whatever. No, it's not the governor. It's the state Legislature. If you need to find out who your representative is in the state Legislature and send them many, many letters and phone calls and tell them how important it is that you keep your twin nine year old daughters. Harry don't switches, which is now I need you to do this people from reaching out because they need I do need you to do this. I'm just preparing you for what's going to happen, and then you just have to be ready to vote him or her out. Because do you know what the other side is really good at. Sending letters and phone calls and letting them know that they think mask, Sir Dom, so we need more more. They are more people on the masking side to reach out. They are more organized than us. I think I think that part of the problem is those were picking sides. I mean, that's that's really I wish we didn't have to. That's what's horrible. I've I wish we didn't have to either. Let me get my time machine ready. And thanks, Garrett. Yes. One more one last question. Do you know do you know about when eight year old dinner up will be able to get the vaccine? There's no word on it. Yeah, they're hopeful. By the by the end of the year. So the end of the year, But it's so in the meantime, doesn't it make sense to have everyone mask until we can get those nine year old twins and everybody? Why don't you just take your nine year old twin daughters in and say I know they look young? But they really they're 12 on 12. Very youthful 12. Corn is literally what brooms were made out of. And the synthetic broom industry destroyed Lindsay as the broom corn capital world because brooms were now synthetic and not made from room corn. But Lucien was a broom corn buyer. And so guess what? He got to know which is the farmers and in the early days The farmers own land, and that was the only thing that was important to them. And, uh, Lucien would give me stories that I use in my business every day in and a lot of those stories you know, are important for retirees. No, And that is The main thing about retirement that he told me he worked till the day he died and worked in a little bitty office and I said Lucian What's the secret? Being happy in retirement. He goes Mike, You have to have a reason to get up in the morning. You have to have something that and he's telling me this when he is, uh, late late eighties, maybe early nineties, and you have to have a reason to get up. And I thought about that often. That's great. Now. His reason Get up is he went in and sat in his office. It'd paperwork he didn't work for somebody. At that point, he looked at his investments in the oil and gas industry, mineral rights that he had bought and people come visit him and he had a purpose and a reason. And he treated it like a job and in people like my mom who brought me and introduced me to him because she had a question of mineral rights, and he became a lifelong mentor to me. He loved that. So I think about that I want I want my clients. And myself to have a reason to get up in retirement every morning, and so, uh, Just part of the you know, not everything is about dollars and cents with a with an investment advisor. If you if you're with one that really has your best interests at heart in your family. They're going to get to know you and I'm going to learn from you and you're gonna learn from me, Tony. That's that's part of Given intake, I think is very important because it allows you and I to bond and therefore you mean something to me. I want to see you succeed and in your retirement Yeah. Yeah, And I think that's really important because You have a report you can run. There's so many different filing strategies and you can leave so much money on the table. You've said you've seen situations where people it made a difference over their lifetime of over $100,000 absolutely and benefits because so many people think. Oh, I'm 62. I can think. Benefits, but that's might get social Security. But if you file then you get a greatly reduced amount. And you know if you're going to have a shorter lifespan, and you know it may be that makes sense. Or if you absolutely can't live without the money and you don't have an income or you're going to retire at 62. Otherwise, you're probably going to want to wait and I know you've talked about that in the past, but you ever report That will tell people based on their situation when the sweet spot for them would be to file right. Absolutely that you don't just give me a call at 40576. Oh, 5863 we can do Social Security maximization report for you and give you something in black and white that you can read and have and help you make that decision on wind to take the money and Tony know a lot of this. The other aspect of this is you kinda hinted on it is, uh, How long do you think you're gonna live? Well, you know, we're going to ask those tough, tough questions. How How are you? Do you have something that has The potential of short in your life. Did your folks die early? All that matters and wind to start taking your check. So we're going to help you do that? Yeah. And I want to jump ahead here a bit. I mean, obviously, there's a lot to cover, but based on time, I know another thing. If people are thinking about retirement, they also, you know, need to make sure That they have a a legacy plan or a state plan in place. They need a will, right. Do you know? Wills and trusts are very important. For that legacy, planning that that that is planning beyond the grave, and, um, we're going to help you with that. We're gonna recommend, uh Just give you some names of some attorneys maybe to talk to, um, we're going to. It's surprising to me when I first started my career, I thought that trust were only for the super rich..

I think artists have been very blunt and very clear And i think that they don't necessarily have to cross over in order for that to happen in order for us to remember some of those songs. Now do i think there are some sounds from last year. That will be forgotten in. That won't be a submitted. Like a say what's going on. Of course i mean. I think all songs are very hard to get to that level of protest anthem right. But but i do think that songs like the bigger picture will likely stand the test a time when we think about remembering these moments we haven't talked as much about women artists genome as been really vocal about releasing music about black liberation. Who are some of the other women entertainers hip hop artists singers. Who really been sort of focused on this moment and in particular i mean. Hey are we do. We have examples of women rappers who weren't really paying attention and got involved. Because of george floyd we have examples of sort of arm be crooners at all they were talking about. Is you know sunsets and santro pay. And then after. George floyd decided to get a little conscious we have. We seen that sort of changed in women hip hop artists and entertainers as well. I i think is an excellent example. It's not that she wasn't outspoken. Before but when i think of the That really the protest chance right It's called hill utah. "All right talking to bruce pascoe the arizona daily star about what happened to shawn miller. Today was fired at arizona after a long run with the cats in tucson and frankly Like i said by the way they just marash just knocked out to meet johnson. That's it round to boom. Knocked him out got on top of him and just clubbed him to death. He's done so there. You go to champ wins. I'm stunned mafia. A horrible disqualification and then the main event was a disaster as well. Thank god turner channel down with it. Anyway bruce sorry about so. Here's the deal. I'm watching these fights. I got all this stuff going on while. We're doing the show. As i said before to you all these names the litany of names. Tommy lloyd kazak damon stoudamire miles simon et cetera et cetera. I don't believe to be honest with you eric. Musselman's going to get the job at arizona. He's got a great job at arkansas. I do not believe he's leading that quick to go there. It's not steve. Alford leaving new mexico. I don't believe frankly mark pope's getting that job either To be honest with you they remind me of a little bit of. I know sean millerton planners well i guess he did like what he transferred there or something like that when he was a kid. I can't remember. All i know is north carolina and they stay in the family. You know miller. Didn't he actually played here for pit arizona zone in a an a holiday tournament back in the early nineties and told us the story about how he'd just thought it was so cool he saw zona players leaving the game on their skateboards and it was seventy five and sunny and he was like damn. This is a great place. So that's why. I think that maybe had a little bit to do with why he took the job in the first place but But yet to speak to what you said actually just kinda wrote about some of the speculation some of those candidates in both pope and muscleman if you go back two years if they had a change with miller and twenty nineteen you know both of those guys were at mid major jobs. Doing really well. And we're we're gonna go. You knew they were gonna go to their next job and you know Muslim was at nevada and pope was that Utah valley and and both those guys got good jobs. And you're right. They appear pretty locked up right now. Pope just signed a deal through twenty six twenty seven then because as privacy. Don't we don't know the terms but you know those guys are pretty locked in. And i don't think that arizona has a lot more money if any to pay than what they're paying miller which was about two and a half million so you know and if you're gonna you know if you're gonna try and get an established accessible head coach. That's pretty tough to do. You might need three or four at least per year. The way things are going. Yeah well so let's then narrow it down do you believe that Did you write about tommy. Lloyd and start a and simon and simon would both take that job this minute. Yeah yeah yeah. I mean i think right tommy lloyd. The a question mark as to whether he would want it. And i mean there's some questions about whether you'd hire guy without being head coach a program like this but on the other hand you know there's there he's pretty he's pretty well regarded and he's been there for twenty years. And he's you know his recruiting of internationals tough to beat and this and that so it's it may be a question of him whether he'd wanna do that. He's already turned down. A number of turned away from. I should say a number of in a pretty good job from from what From what i've heard and then You're right stoudamire and You know assignment. I think you know. Even just passenger maybe. There's you know some buzz about him. He's a little guy who's you know. Been the head coach now at memphis and georgia tech and he has a great job there. you know and not a lot of press release buddies. He sees standards You know so he might be okay there but the you know who knows. Maybe he'd want to come back here. i don. I don't know about that but stoudamire you're right would be interesting. And you know he. He's probably the one guy who has the best combination of you know sort of history with this program as a player. He was an all american here. They went to the ninety four five four him and then he went on and You know have. The cree had the nba was nba rookie of the year And then and you. Europeans record isn't great but he took that program over. When they were you know having unsuitably sanctions and they you know. They're they have high academic standards. It's hard to get guys in there and they have to play with gonzaga and early. You know you're an and saint. Mary's and byu so at the best you're gonna be fourth in fact. He was coaching the year last year when they were for. So so. if you've kinda put it in perspective of what. He's up against their You know he's done pretty well and he's you know he's well liked here. The personable guy you know he. He's got nba experience. The cell and so you know he. He would seem to have a lot of qualifications as well. Yeah it sounds like everything you're saying it just leads me right to him that he's the guy that's the guy they're gonna hire. You can just feel it. can't you. well it seems like i mean. Certainly if you're going to go the direction of wanting somebody who has some tie your program. I would think so for sure. I mean i've heard a lot of tommy lloyd. The guy but it might be that. I don't again. I don't know if he wants it. And you know there's also we know in these kind of searches. Sometimes they're smokescreens out there. You don't really know who and everybody here thought football. They were gonna hire san jose state coach and and then they ended up hiring. A you know. An assistant from the patriots said martin jet fish so you know that sort of seemed to come out of nowhere so you know i guess you never know there could always be somebody lurking that. We don't know the one thing that i do think is you would think at this point. They're going to decide to make this decision to get rid of shawn miller this late that they must have somebody lined up at least a couple of people that they know will take it so i would imagine it'll be a short search because it may already be done behind the scenes. Let me ask you bruce Do you think that Arizona state and i'm not. I'm not suggesting anything with bobby. Hurley golan dares. On what. I'm asking you is do you think that he's like being well received in tempe or do you think his see this hot. Oh the hurley's You know i y- his. He was he. He's built that program up. I think he has a fair amount of equity this. They had a really disappointing finish this year. And but you know. I think also helps him that. It's sort of an asterisk year with with cova. Everybody knows that so you know there was a weird combination yet. Some really good talent as kind of a weird chemistry mix that just of appear to blow up on them and so and they had. They had a couple of kobe pauses. That didn't help things either. So you know i. I don't think he's on a on a hot seat there but certainly you know You know maybe you know down the road a little bit. If things don't don't turn around. But i think overall he's been pretty well received there. What did you think of Just your reaction to how badly archie failed at indiana. I mean honestly. I went to indiana and i have to say when when they hired him. I thought it was a good higher. Because he had done such a hell of a job at dayton in my opinion at amid right an amid major and he had been a forced there. But i honestly i have to say bruce. I think he may have been the worst basketball coach. I've ever seen at indiana. And i'm fifty six years old and i was i worked for bob knight so trust me when i tell you i've seen them all. He may have been the worst coach. I've ever seen in bloomington yet. You're closer way closer. Situation that i am. I just know. I know archie was here. Actually as san's though shit head coach the first couple years. I got to know him a little bit He seemed at both of them are pretty burs school x. Knows guys you know. Dad was a legend out. There in highschool western pennsylvania The thing about arts that always struck me those. He super super serious almost like all work. No play kinda guy and and..

And the other guy I think is a hell of a coach who again we talked about it early in this this broadcast name is Mark Schmidt at Saint Bonaventure. Yeah, hell of a coach hell of a mid-major coach should get the Boston College job. Honestly, he's in Alam. He should get it off. Um. All right. Listen, what about a little more? What about Mark poll? I like Mark Pho. I've said if Arizona fires Sean Miller, he should be in the mix of Zona. Absolutely. It's got energy. I mean there's how to get kids to play hard. He can connect with kids. He could teach big men like his big men have have really gotten better even dating back to like ye Vali. I saw him play a few years ago in Vegas with Utah Valley and I thought he he absolutely maximize his talent on that team. So I'm with you I think looks really good really good. "For the Green Bay Packers and Roger's Got that first ring in 2011. And then since then we saw him go down to the Seahawks. As they choke that game away. We saw that getting blown out twice. By the Atlanta Falcons. And in a year ago up against the 40 Niners, and this year, they had the number one seed. It looked like they had a good shot to get to the Super Bowl. They were considered the favorite being the number one seed to get to the Super Bowl. Not that they were necessarily gonna win it and take down Kansas City. But the expectation was that this was their best shot in the field was that this was their best shot to get Rogers his second ring. And then we saw what transpired on Sunday. 28 23. In that game three and out 28 23 again Another three and out. They totaled for negative five yards on those two dries. And then You're down a You're driving. Something's cooking.
