What happened in Washington DC yesterday? A timeline of insurrection
"With runoff victories. In georgia meaning democrats are set to take back. The senate spent yesterday morning interviewing cliff. Albright an activist. Who helped turn out a record breaking number of georgia voters. It was a great conversation. Warm bright and then all hell broke. Loose sleep had a couple of reporters covering events in washington on the ground. One was embedded with the rioters who breached the capital and other was inside the chamber itself with the lawmakers. So we're going to tell the story of what happened from each of their perspectives. And we're going to start with ayman is my. I got there early. I got to the ellipse park. Just south of the white house. Amen was in dc to cover. What started out as protests. He is like you're hip photographer friend. He's undaunted casual and it makes it easier for him to sign up to all kinds of people and ask them questions. I would say that the mood was a people were happy. If felt like everyone had on their cool like trump swag and they were showing it off. You ever go to comic con. It really felt like comic People had sake trump faces cutouts. People had their favorite slogans all on their favorite t shirts. I would say ninety five percent of everyone who was there was like white maybe nine maybe ninety just to be generous here and my plan was to just talk to people get to know them. I wanted to know if i could get some closure on the trump era. This felt like this was the last opportunity to really talk to trump supporters at home where they're comfortable wearing their colors talking about their opinions. I was trying to do is. I was trying to have these conversations where i can be candid. They can be candid. It's not so hostile. The stakes don't seem so high. So i was able to do that with a bunch of different people which was satisfied. You know felt good one of them. One trump supporter looked me in the eyes and said jesus christ has come down and make it happen for years of trump is is still required. It's biblical i think. Yeah in what way do you think. I think that he is just in to be to have a second term as the confidence note. I'm talking about the confidence. It was crazy i like. I like to joke with my the people that i interview Just to kind of get them comfortable. And i talked to this one lady. I said she was kind of walking past me in the march as it. Hey do you mind if i get like click quote from you on. I don't want to hold you hostage though you're allowed to say no and she's like ha if you're holding me hostage gun and shoot you and i said you don't actually have a gun do you. And she said haha. I'm not going to tell you. And kinda liked walked off southlake own shit. Nobody actually got people probably brought their pistons of shouldn't so i kind of hung out over there for a long time of until trump's speech where he told his audience that he was going to no capitol building to protest the electoral college certification. You're going to walk down. Pennsylvania avenue i love pennsylvania and we're going to the capital and we're going to try at that moment. People didn't even wait for him to finish his speech. They immediately started marching leaving the lips park and going towards the capitol building so then we get to the steps of the capitol building. There's like this huge sculpture right on the front beautiful marble in his covered head to toe with trump supporters. Make climbed up the thing. They have their flags there screaming. Stop this deal. it's crazy. I've never seen people. Climb up on the memorials like anywhere in dc. We could do that to be honest. So i i go up the stairs i get to the door i'm trying to kind of maneuver my way in. There's like maybe four or five cops at the door for trying to keep maybe five thousand people out which is insane but then the trump supporters just ripped it out of their hand overpowered them and overwhelmed them. and we're able to force themselves inside and at this point unlike end the door in the doorway. I can see inside. I hear when cops say to the other. Look there's no way we can stop this. We just have to slow it down right and at this point it was like comfortable. You walk inside. There's no police presence you. You're surrounded by all of these famous paintings and sculptures that you've only ever seen textbooks like this is one of the most important buildings in the country but inside it just feels like a like trump playground. They were using it as their jungle. Gym they were flying around like having the most fun. It was very much a a celebration of trump on the inside of this building that it was a celebration of on the outside. The moon was definitely high. You know every once in a while people will start chanting stop the steel and the obligatory usa usa but for the most part people were taking pictures. People were happy to be on the inside. They were saying that this is their house. They were joking about how their tax dollars pay for things and every time anybody break something like the windows or doors or any of the various things that they destroyed on the inside they would make a joke about it and say hi our anyway we can do with it. What we want
Chaos at the Capitol
"Abc's and Joins us live from the capital and has just set the scene for us. Where are you what you see aaron. The scene has calmed down for now. It's certainly different than what we saw earlier. In the day when protesters were lining the steps of the capitol and the scene was incredibly tense. We saw no dozens hundreds of protesters dressed in black wearing bulletproof vests wearing gas masks. Look very few Covert math. Though i will point out And and carrying you know trump flag. American flags chanting usa usa One particularly tense moments. It out to me when a group of Men all dressed in block about a dozen of them marched by members of the media who were gathered in one area and started yelling out to the media. Where can we sign up to shoot people and of course the concern Being that woman had just been shot in the capital and there were There was a concern that there could be armed pros protesters around. So that was shocking. I think another shocking moment to me was just getting to the capital in the early afternoon and seeing a man in a stretcher being Loaded into an ambulance. The man appeared to be a police officer so a very tense day but things have calmed down for now. There's a much larger police presence right now right now than there was earlier in the day and protesters have cleared the the steps of the capitol. Abc's and has delicate tara there at the scene. The washington dc national guard has been activated. There is a curfew that has been in effect for the better part of nearly two hours now and that may have helped a clear some of the the scene and ease some of the tension

Moreover, this decision by the president is based on continuous engagement. With his national security cabinet over the past several months, but some don't agree with the drawdown. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the precipitous withdrawal would be a mistake. I think it's extremely important here in the next couple of months not to have any earthshaking changes with regard to defense and foreign policy. "All right. We're almost there. We're almost at the end of the show. But i will chase the good stuff that helps other batch. Go down as you're starting with do better white people were. We highlight some anti-racism resources and other actions. We can take to make the world a little better. What do we highlighting this week. The georgia senate runoffs and what we can do to help. So if you don't know there was an election. Oh i know again. You're hearing this all of this year. I breaking news. Joe biden one. Sorry to that other man if you really didn't pay attention if you if you weren't glued to cnn the entire week like me georgia when blue for the first time in like thirty years. But the way that georgia's senate races work are that the people running have to get at least fifty percent of the vote And if they don't it goes into a runoff and both senate seats in georgia are up In this in this runoff and if democrats win both of them they can manage to get a majority in the house or at least tie it and make mitch mcconnell fucking not relevant anymore Because if i to see one more picture of his rotting flesh i will vomit. I just wanna be able to have a pint of mcconnell's ice cream and not have his image conjured in my mind. Is that too much to ask. I don't think so so a. stacey. Abrams who has been like the most prominent person in georgia also like a grassroots collective of particularly black women in georgia have done an incredible job of registering new voters. Georgia has like historically pretty horrible of order voter suppression efforts and she's done an incredible job of registering a lot of new people. And that's more important now than ever so. I'm a fan of just first of all. Just follow stacey. Abrams on twitter. That's a good step to get this info into your feet. But she also has a fair fight is the name of the group that she is sort of leading. They have a website at jeff. Senate dot com. And that is a place that you can go to donate money in rural split. The donation between i believe that just the two candidates the two democratic candidates for each seat. Another way you can help is knock for democracy. Which i've talked about multiple times on this pod is going to be doing phone banking and work for these elections. So there's more info in there you thought we were done with foam banking. no not. you're making more calls and donating more money. Let's get into the to really be watching this week berry. would you watch. Oh i've been watching a wide range of tv cnn abc nbc. Even fox news No i mean like check in. And i really did not watch. Tv besides the news this week Except for veep which you know what that's not true. I also watched. I watched like comfort thinks throughout the week. So thirty rock. I wanted to watch veep all week. But i thought that it might make me more upset instead of being able to find the humor in the in this time but now i totally can laugh so we watch veep. And that's what about you same. I did start the queen's gambit on net flicks. I really want to watch it. Yeah if you haven't seen or heard it is about a young chess prodigy. It's like the nineteen sixty s and. She's young girl who becomes like a chess genius. It's more exciting. That i'm making it. Sound also she has severe drug addiction. If that is exciting so you you really why. Yeah to some substance abuse. What is your non. Tv chaser my non tunisia. This week was just saturday. Like just the collective like obviously the joy that forty five is going to be out of office but also just experiencing being outside with masks on with people just everyone experiencing joy together. It was like oh my god. We haven't had this in so so long and just like it's also. The weather has been incredible. This past week unseasonably incredible. The kind that makes you be like. Oh this isn't good. But also i will enjoy every single second of it and it really Just was really beautiful. Like one of my favorite moments was i was just reading in fort green park and like every five minutes there were just be like a wave of cheering and whooping out of excitement like there. There was no real start of it. It just like someone popped another bala champagne and we were all cheering. It was just really great. So i gotta say saturday just as a whole what about you. I mean yeah. Saturday was pretty great. The joy the sense of relief. I mean other more eloquent people have given their version of this. But i mean on the off chance that you have made it this far in this podcast and did vote for the man in office. I feel like it's been lost to the other side of like why people feel such joy and it's not like salt in the wound were rubbing it in like our team won and you'd like people a sense of relief enjoy because the past four years have not been good for that also. Pumpkin pie has made me feel better. It's pumpkin pie season. Okay and this was like my baking sort of journey. I feel like started a year ago. During pie season where i became obsessed with making an amazing pumpkin pie and i made like ten pies and a week and compared all of them. And i've already started over this year. I'm like you know up starting fresh with new recipes and just testing everyone and seeing which one i like the best guy do it and getting worse with everyone. It's amazing how that happens. But i do love a pumpkin pie and eat them indiscriminately. Because i can.

"They make it personal. This is specifically piece of shit dog. Who viciously attacked me. Not two weeks ago okay. No didn't second of all Sounds like this person has just been around sheeting dogs. Who are not trained. Well putty does not shit and pee in the house. We left him alone for like six hours today. Which is like the longest he's ever alone. Not a single. Not a single drop not a single klopp of poop. Wow no and also. He doesn't bark. The dog's upstairs. Do bark but i love him so much. So it's fine. Yeah putty is one of the few dogs. That i feel like i barely ever heard barak. I am a dog that is mine. And because i don't have a dog i'm generally like a ambivalent but there is a pomeranian at the park named cannoli who like i will one day steel for you and that is your dog in my head. We use a great talk name and you wanna pomeranian i would. I would do a pomeranian. Yeah isn't that what you want. You want the flip. The like fluff by. I liked that. I also don't want a dog that sheds that is my biggest beef and I think like they all do unless they've been like genetically engineered not too. Yeah there's a whole line of them. Yeah also i. That's weird to me that we've just done that dogs. I mean all dogs are fundamentally like broken. Wolves like humans took wolves that were just free and people would dance with them. They meet your whole movie about that dancing with wolves. I believe it was called and They took they took that and then they. They made a piece of shit chihuahua. That just shakes and occasionally does marketing taco. Where is that dog now dead. Oh r.i.p the cook them up. And they served him in a beautiful chiluba and sent him into the sky. Certainly a controversial opinion certainly controversial certainly deeply personal. But you gotta respect it. It was a great rant. I love it though. I hate it. I just like to me. Dogs are too. There are a lot of work for the serotonin booth that they give. If they're not yours. Yes my neighbors did ask. They wanna get a dog and they were like. It's really different right. And i was like no. It's just a lifestyle change so once your life style changes your whole life changes. Then it's easy. And i realized that's a lot like it's it's easy once you change your whole lifestyle But then it's great also when it comes to cats versus dogs. This is not very nice of me but to me like i know that cats have different personalities but like overall most cats are same. I agree with that whereas dogs very different dog personality. Dog behavior dog breed. It can be very very different like a really one. Dog is good another dogs very bad also hugely usually depends on the people who own them so whereas cats they live their fucking lives no matter what even when i go home to chicago and i'm around the family dog i'm just like i just wished it had like an off and then i could be like okay. We'll put you back on the shelf for now and like i'll take you out again when i need it. It's just it's also there when you don't want it around. A my mother has fully like dass. Let me into believing that. I'm not mature enough for a dog not true. Even though it's like i wanted to realize. I mean my mother still believes that i'm like eleven years old like in her mind. I still an eleven year old. I want to be like a. I'm a thirty year. Old grown adult be. There are people our age who have like full-blown family. Is that a house. Like my cousin. She'll be like. I have a cousin who's a couple of years younger and she'll be like i don't know how they do it with those dogs. I'm like they have a full house two children and he's younger than why. Are we questioning. Whether i want a grown adult could handle a dog now as evidence you provide literally everything i've said on this show credit. I've spent some shit but be. Yeah but anyway so. That's my mental space and finally to quote map. This our last clip is from my little baby nephews aid and my dad who listened to an episode and wanted to call in and share their Their rent oh god so cheese. What else apple basketball pooping. What about embarrassed using words on s right cheese again. Jeez whoa okay.
Moderators named for presidential and vice presidential debates
"Four debates Total three, then presidential one vice presidential debate. The first is happening. September 29th. That's with Fox News host Chris Wallace in Cleveland. Then on October 15th in Miami. We've got one hosted by C SPAN, Steve Scully and that one's been labelled as a town meeting. Think kind of town hall. We're still kind of Figuring out how that'll play out in terms of soliciting questions from from from voters. But the third presidential debate will be with NBC's Kristen Welker that on October 22nd in Nashville, and then there's a vice presidential debate with USA USA. Today's Susan Page on October 7th.

"And these guys just carried him down it was just that was pretty amazing and the president honored and when they got down on the whole crowd was going USA USA and it was just you know they just want to help this guy get down they didn't do it because they're like all I'm gonna get on camera there like this guy needs to get down there's no way we're gonna be able to get the will turn down so now these guys are they carried him down there there's just that was just so cool to see that that was really neat and and I love how it it could have been anything you could have an awkward but they were so respectful when they did it it wasn't like they were doing it because all here's a an old bull that around they they were doing because I had this guy let's hope it let's hope and they just want to help it was really awesome to see that I don't I think I'm actually physically capable of crying but something weird thing happened when I was watching this video and in my eyes got like watery there was moisture there I know I'm like this is not right clearly that was that was what was going on while the socialists and the communists we are arguing on stage at the debate last night that's what was happening I love by the way that it is as a rally although I because I was asked by a is there hard this morning if I had if I was watching the some of them were I know who's the best move as much or as easily I think they asked me if I was watching the rally someone to and I said though I watch some of it but I'm gonna be honest when you know that somebody's gonna fight here look I mean it's like modern day gladiators that was not gladiators in that one but you don't I mean it's like if when you're in school and somebody got to find a hallway in somebody else's life you totally just why you come on we and and especially somebody like Bloomberg man but you just don't think there's gonna be Warren going out scalping everybody that's the thing more appropriation Liz that was really awesome to see last night I was that was that was one of the coolest things right so we've got a whole lot so for you big man where we want to go because the it was into I I did watch so after the debate I would watch a little bit MSNBC because I wanted to see how they were reacting to this year Bloomberg that had one good moment it was not enough to propel him to the non Bernie flagbearer but the his people say he's just getting warmed up I don't know he's gonna be prepped way better and I say that because on stop and frisk for instance this is all your somebody tent dude you gotta be more prepared than that for some of us I sat apologized and asked for forgiveness that because he apologized not for it but for how it was sort of perceived and interpret it that's kind of what he apologize for he could have apologized by saying if he if he doesn't even want to go kind not even half way he could have said well I apologize for running it into the ground and not having any oversight because while I I'm just gonna disagree some conservatives on this and that's okay because we can disagree I never like this program as a law abiding gun owner I don't like anything be a red flag or this that in any way any way diminishes or even cast a shade upon my Fourth Amendment rights the end I told you all I'm like straight No chaser here in two steps above they argued that's ram I like Rudy Giuliani I think that you know he did we want to clean up crime and he was doing the best that he could and I understand why he did this program he started it and I will say that even stating how much I oppose this program I also recognize that the wi Giuliani did it and the way Bloomberg did that I've written about this extensively down last dot com they were two different approaches Rudy's was let's have oversight and make sure every single occurrence and engagement is documented and let's limit the number of stops and lets evaluated every month to make sure that there is that we're actually getting what we're setting out to do and also he wasn't entirely targeting firearms here's the thing all these people that were on stage at this debate they were gonna Bloomberg over stop and frisk not a single damn one of them actually went the full distance and said for gun control because that's what it was for you all gun control he was specifically citing weaponry guns that's what was at the the reports of what he was this was a form of gun control now again I don't mind if you disagree with me on this I'm not to have her feelings as long as you're cool otherwise someone go for throat but now I won't but I just that's I I can't on those grounds I look at it very logically just because even if it worked and that's debatable and I'm looking at a number I was looking at a number of things in fact some of it was pulled from NYPD data and I don't think that the I don't the cops are bad or anything like that I hate this idea that there's no new wants you don't have to agree with something a thousand percent of the time see like us right now but I just that's where get worries me because this that he did this is a form of gun control and not a single one of these candidates on stage brought that up why did he do it why'd you do it Mike US because gun control and here the other thing is that he actually reduced oversight of this program he didn't have any kind of limitation like ready did he didn't I don't like already I like that name better than Giuliani I just like saying Rudy it's a fun name to say but there was no oversight and Bloomberg's operation he did not even they've even with documentation there weren't the same requirements an oversight night had I'm not going to name names but I've had a couple of one was kind of high up in the hierarchy and another one was actually on the streets was a cop in New York City from in my PT two retired NYPD guys separately he would actually emailed one of them emailed the day that that post one up and then I'll ask dot com and the other one after we first talked about this on air had emailed me and they were saying they understand where I was coming from and they appreciated that I was including end in it the fact that when you can't rely on prosecutors to charge the people you're arresting for crimes and they're not charging them for the crimes that you're resting the four and you can't count on the judges to give them appropriate sentences so they're not just coming out you know in a year and re offending et cetera and they're not and there there's no deterrent cops then are left to figure out how to pick up the slack to make it to where people don't want to do this since the judges and prosecutors are what are you grew there or not that was what their approach that was the job that was really on his approach and I appreciated that I included that and because I know how the program came about it would be a new mission a factor to not do that but they were saying that it was round it was run very differently with Bloomberg very differently with Bloomberg but that's they they would not acknowledge that on the debate stage they also did talk about the economy on the debate stage by the way they didn't discuss that you know there was not one question about the economy you wanna know why how are you going to ask Democrats about the economy when we have record low unemployment and you can actually measure the tax cut a fact if you don't get mad at me for give out of the government in the data and math and the fax get mad at the head but we had a record low unemployment and we have wage growth we have the highest consumer confidence right now I forget what the measurement was like what was that since the since they were measuring his super high consumer confidence and people are there's there's so much job creation right now we actually have more jobs than we have people in the United States to fill them how are you going to ask a Democrat about the economy and presented in a way that they need to do something to improve on it because if they're even so much as asked that question keep in mind this is after a full week of Democrats assailing the economy because that was the talking point that went out do you see how they now work with media on this don't tell me that there's no orchestration after literally a full week of talking points we play sound bites from who I don't know every day we had a handful Nancy Pelosi Chuck Schumer I mean all of them about how well this was even a Bronco bombing came out was like well this was my economy why did they as a joke about it Joe well yeah I mean they could if they could have completely dishonestly ask them a question where they were credit in his administration and they didn't Jody bring it up he kind of touched on it through health care that was about it did you bring it up because there are these guys going to answer Michael Bloomberg wants to he has what he is proposing a five trillion dollar tax increase rolling back all the tax cuts Bernie Sanders is proposing a sixteen trillion dollar tax increase always warns the much different from Bloomberg's they all of them except perhaps for any clover jar wanna get do away with your private health insurance how are they going to sit here and ask a question the Democrats about the economy when all of this stuff that they want to do do it is going to make it worse you can't you can I ask that question without giving credit to your opponent and they don't want that to happen so they ignore it if this is a real debate they would've been made to dance on that question I don't know I and they don't even ask about didn't ask about China they didn't touch that they did ask about any kind of real foreign policy especially Iran it was like it was it's like you go bowling and they put the little one of the the little bumpers and there it was like that but with this debate because they knew that Bloomberg's going to step in and and and bundle step in it you.

I have a solution for you and I'd like you to take make comment on I'd like you did to make a comment all my proposal and Jake said all right I get to act it out since we don't have already just tell those black people of South via the stop committing crime and doing drugs June I guess so tight here in that mess and when I was a mess I have something else to say but it line it rhymes with mess and not just let your imagination do the wondering so Jake answers back in and Jake says Sir you know this is really has not had that really has nothing to do with race and went on to explain how racial disparities in incarceration are evidence of systematic residents racism skews me in the criminal justice system the fact that a black four person is four times as likely as white person to be incarcerated for the exact same crime is evidence of systematic races this is will check status the crowd started shouting USA USA drowning out the man who was sent there was he sent there or did he really believe it I don't know but he gets drowned out and Jake says when black people white people are treated the same by the criminal justice system it would be easier for white people and black people live in this country and it will be easier for law enforcement to do their job the racism has no place in American politics or American law enforcement so that was jegs response now I like blue jegs response I think the blue Jay answer in every best way he possibly could but I just thought that was very interesting and the reason why I thought it was interesting because this is democratic town hall you know did bunch Democrats stay and I'm just wondering the me was this guy Democrat was he just somebody who was set up in it now I know you price they will brave he was somebody who was in a pen name but I hear liberals say stuff like this all the time they don't say it like he said it he's just average Joe blow but I hear white liberals sometimes say stuff like this well if we could just figure out how to help black people get yourselves together we would have so much systematic racism I know they don't they're they're they're listening I know you're listening and I know you're sympathize with racism and all that great stuff and we appreciate that and we need that but sometimes I think this is D. stuff that people eat up the black people are doing so bad in their communities eight seven seven I'm I'm excel eight seven seven five three two five seven nine seven eight seven seven five three two five seven nine seven eighty is excel Friday and you can comment on those comments you know you can get you can get engaged with the conversation you may want to comment on the blue

"Let the red show for those that you owner of that team is Michael Jordan deaths. Next major league baseball all-star game starters announced last night. Astros led all teams three starters. Bregman Springer and Brantley. Mike. Trout. Let all candidates in boats. Christian yelich was the leading vote-getter in the National League yellow trilby joined by Cody Bellinger, Ronald new junior comprising the youngest starting outfield in the all star game since Hank Aaron Willie Mays, and Frank Robinson, in one thousand nine hundred fifty seven by the way Carlos Santana of the Indians will start at first base for the American League in front of his home. And so there you see martyrs for the all star game. And then let's get to what is by far the biggest sporting event of state women's World Cup. The wait is over. We'll off with host France in the quarters later this afternoon, this shapes up to be one of the most anticipated games in soccer history and all of us who watch the game against Spain on Monday as I did that was a very tough match. And a lot of the expert opinion, I've heard has been if the US does not play better than we did on Monday that will be very difficult day today. Let's put that question and more to Julie Foudy who joins us live from France that that's the perspective. I've been hearing Julie is that the American side will have to play better than they did on Monday in order to get through France today. What is your sense of that? Yeah, I agree. And they agree, they'll say the same thing. Megara Pena said wasn't good enough. I wasn't good enough. And this is the player who got the two penalty kicks, by the way, but they just didn't have a rhythm. And I think that's a good sign is when you can play a game and it was a very good Spanish team. Of course, let's give them credit that you play a game like that. And you've lived through it and you still live for another game. Then that's a great sign. So I think they're very pleased that the best of the United States has yet to be seen in their opinion. All of us were planning to watch the game this afternoon. Who should we have our I on we know that repeat? No scored both goals on PK's on Monday, who has to come up big today. Actually think this is one of those games for Alex Morgan. That is a legacy game for her because in the two thousand eleven World Cup. She came in she was a youngster she was coming off the bench two thousand fifteen World Cup. She was injured. And now this is her moment. She did score five goals as we know in that opening game. But it was against Thailand to say this is going to be my World Cup because she's playing against a centreback in windy Reynard, who's a great centreback but I think she can beat her for pace and she clearly can get behind her. She's six foot two windy Renard, one of the veterans on the team. But that's a great match up in the center, which you're gonna see today against France match middle the afternoon today. USA in the home country, France, it should be fantastic. Duly, thank you so much. Enjoy the action this afternoon. We'll see you after what will be really busy weekend. Meanwhile, one more thing. I want to show you before we take a short time out here in honor of LeBron James switching back to number six guys. Let's check out one of his.

"Yeah, I don't think he just, I don't think he will. But here's what ends up happening. We're going to. Fantasize about him joining LeBron AD but we're going to Nord a fact that that's not the only meeting, he's taking right? He might end up taking a meeting with the Knicks he might end up taking a meeting with Philadelphia. So I don't necessarily believe he's going to end up doing that. But if he does I can't front the ability to put those back up there again. I saw it out of the corner, minor screen. We have so many things going on at the same time. But the odds in Vegas on where Koi winds up going back to and hembo, he's able to put them up there. The Lakers have the third-best hypothetical odds sign Kawai behind the clippers and the raptors everything I have heard, and again whoa. Just going to join us in a second leader clip remains raptors clippers, and that's essentially in any other meetings, he takes I will continue ask why bother taking these meetings, it's been explained to me that there were reasons why you wind up doing it. And I'll say it again. I know it is unlikely to happen. It is it remains my belief that from a basketball standpoint, kyri Irving is the perfect fit. I don't have to wonder if he and LeBron James change. Deanship together because I've seen it with my own eyes quickly. I'm told that is ready to go here. Whoa, jr. Adrian words announce key, of course, who I reported all this yesterday, and set the whole world on fire as he has a tendency to do good morning, and thank you. We're sitting here having the conversation about the story with the Lakers clearing the space to the best of your knowledge. What do they think are their chances of landing one of the huge name guys who will cost all of those thirty two million dollars relative to the chances. They go out and sign a collection of less expensive players. I don't know that the Lakers think that they're a front runner for any of the A-List free agents but they're going to try. And that's what they have a window to do now, starting Sunday evening, DeAngelis, Russell of he becomes an unrestricted free agent. If Kyrie Irving goes to the nets, they certainly have a real opportunity with him. It's likely to go in to get a meeting with Kawhi Leonard and, and you know that's, that's what they're going to swing four. And then they can break up that money and get several pieces in go pursue The Danny Green's, the Terrance Ross's, the Seth curry, and any other combination, you want to try to put together and compete. To sign among any number of a very good role players. I want to make sure that we nail this down. Specifically you have been steadfast from the very beginning of these conversations that you do not expect Hawaii honor to go to the Lakers that, that I want to put words in your mouth on this morning, but I believe you have thought all along its raptors or clippers is that still your belief as we head into this weekend. Well, listen, he's going to make a decision here in the next week. The Lakers didn't have the ability to even go try to sign why Leonard until the last twenty four hours. Now they have the ability to walk in. They're still a little bit south of a max deal..

"I have Jalen rose, go ahead and tell me I'm wrong. You're definitely wrong. And here's the thing you just gave two examples of baseball and the NFL, but your examples were them extending the season with the NFL. I went to NBA you talking about shortening the season fans and media don't care right now. The teams that win the division if you ask people that are die hard fans at NBA you could ask them who wanted to Pacific Division last year. They probably wouldn't even know their certain teams to hang division banners. There other teams that don't amid season Cup is going to be about is as irrelevant to the fan as the NBA awards ten weeks after the season. And so I want to watch a playoff playing of eighth and ninth see teams that are really trying to stop trying. Zion that really don't wanna be in the playoffs that arresting healthy players so that they can be in the lottery to catapult themselves in the being a position to get a top three pit. I just think you're going to water down a product. I think the players aren't gonna have the level of his Tuesday, Yasim. We need to have the accountability lie where it should with the players, the one thing that we loved about Janas via no stage, the other night, except in the is, we felt like that was a guy that was willing to give us eighty two games. That's what we love. Okay. I don't care if the seventy two I don't care if the sixty to the bar has already been lowered. That's who is already out of the two fans and media have already accepted guys not playing when they're healthy. So now guys are going to continue to do it. And extend their careers. This is not going to have an effect on that. Well, I at least one fame slash media, that has not accepted it, and that would be me. Go. Ahead jae. Whoa. Said it this comes down to money. It comes down to revenue. But sometimes I'm you take less that can make the product better. I go back to the NBA lockout year. And I hear what J rose is saying, I know guys are still going to do low management to a certain degree. But if you have fifty games that means that almost every game now matters when you're in a race or a playoff hunt and guys will be more conducive to play and play harder each and every night if they're less games because you have to get there from a playoff seeding perspective. It means more it might mean that you take less. But at the product is getting better. It can still thrive over time. You saw the find different ways to reinvent have so many arguments here. Jalen, what are we actually talking about this is show business? And what is the ultimate adage in show business, always leave them wanting.

"I think his attitude his ability to be a teammate Invidia with the other young pieces of the Boston Celtics is going to be a lot better to even kyri urban was. And I think this will be a terrific signing for the Boston Celtics. I love I love the move for Kemba. I think that's a young core that is different than what he had in Charlotte. Different pieces. Jason tatum. Jaylen Brown in. Other pieces that they have there. But I would like to put this holding at perspective last year we were talking about this team winning a world championship. Bless you. Now we're talking about them in rebuilding year. It's different drastically different conversation from where they were last year this year like the move not so much. I agree with you. And I'm the one who said the other day that they went from the team of the future to the team in the past, and they never had a president. But if they put Kemba Walker in where kyri was aren't. They still among the front runners, if not deficient in the Eastern Conference how much Moore smart, he's going to be the favourite he'll why stays going this season. Boston was the favourite what weeks? Yes. Yes win. And then they just imploded in that series against Milwaukee candidly, because all those guys were standing around watching kyri dribble, the ball, that's what happened to the Celtics. If Kemba doesn't do that. And he plays within the system as jailing was just saying the Celtics had feels to me are one of the teams you could pick in the eastern, you can get out Horford back. You don't have Baynes. Right. A lot of missing pieces, I'm not going to put them over Milwaukee. If quiet goes back to Toronto, not gonna put them over Toronto. There's still some teams that are up there that are better than the, the Boston Celtics, by the way, Billy, they go back with James Casella me out on the sneeze. I was off camera. I tried to I'm sorry. I just couldn't courteous. He's through the little God bless you win. Joy still have JR. I want to get back in here. All right. Let me get agent. Origin, Eski back in the conversation because the next topic that we're going to get to here. Whoa, jr. Is this idea of shortening the season? Jalen just brought it up. We've talked about it earlier, I'd love to get whatever incite you can on what the thinking is behind this from the league standpoint, and I suppose as best you can the realistic chance at this might actually happen. Well, the reasons are obvious. Jalen mentioned them there. The the ability to preserve physically star players in the league in a season that listen, we know what happens when we get into a lot of cities and a lot of marketplace's by the time we get to March, and April, you know, that it's kind of a death March to the end, you know. Teams that are out of it and then teams who are in the playoffs starting to shut it down and get guys ready for the playoffs. But in the end, this is going to get back to money and less. Games means less television, less gate receipts. And so you're going to have to get the players association on board. You're going to have to get the owners all onboard on financially. How can you how can you make up the difference? Certainly the in-season tournament the play tournament at the end of the regular season that Adam silver has really wanted the league to consider those are possibilities financially to maybe make up some of that money loss than regular season revenue, but in the end, this is going to be about money..

Good morning. Welcome to the floor is yours. What if he got when free agency opens on Sunday night? The Celtics have emerged as a strong front runner to sign Kemba Walker from the Charlotte Hornets Boston can continue to clear, some cap space. They could renounce Terry Rozier, create a number that gets up to Kemba Walker max. But right now, Boston, and Kemba Walker are focused on each other. And, and there's a very strong possibility that Kemba Walker will replace Kyrie Irving, as the point guard is, is a centerpiece in Boston. Outstanding loge with a bomb live right here on Gedeh. Won't stay with me a second here. Jalen rose, let me go back to you. What do you make of that? How do you like Cambe as the peace to replace Kyrie in Boston? No disrespect to the people of Charlotte. But all season obvious saying free Kimball and the thing I like about this for the Boston. Celtics is system. Brad Stevens implemented want that we seen Isaiah Thomas flourish in an almost average. Thirty points, we've seen career urban become all NBA player, Terry rosier got a nickname of being scary in the playoff playing in that system. So are you gonna pay Terry rosier the of money that you would pay Kimba Walker? No. So therefore, you go ahead and give the money to Campbell..

"And I talked about this a little bit earlier here, as you hear all the links, the rockets seemed to be willing to go to try and bring Jimmy Butler into play with Hardin NCP three. Do you like it? I love it. I, I really believe that he ultimately gets a five-year max deal with Philly and this becomes an irrelevant topic. But if you're the Houston Rockets, you've already hit your ceiling. And when people talk about acquiring, Jimmy Butler, you can't leave out the most important fact they're trying to give from under Clint Capellas contract. They gave them ninety million dollars to play basketball. Yes. He could set screens and block a couple of shots. Catch a couple of LA but you figure you could find other players to do that at a cheaper price. Looking guys like javale McGee or de'andre, Jordan. I feel like they can almost contribute to the Houston Rockets the way he has. So to get from under his contract. Of course, you do what you can acquire a guy like Jimmy Butler, Jalen rose do just comparative L McGee to Clint cappella, did you just compare the as far as far as how much his game as far as how much is game has improved over? The last three years of his career. So all I'm saying is that this team rink last and bench minutes points, steals rebounds. And now you're gonna take that away to add, Jimmy Butler to the squad and take away all their bench are all the hard-working guys like PJ Tucker. And then you can have three guys that are paid over thirty million you're going to be in the same cap situation. Jay williams. We just saw the Golden State Warriors lose the championship. However they lost because of injuries. They have either the league has become that big twos. Look at the Lakers, they have LeBron James, Anthony Davis Akao Kuzina, and they don't even have a roster yet. We, we already feel like that. They're going to be a championship contending team. That's where the game is. Now it is wide open to go stay warriors probably gonna lose. K D Claes going to be injured. We gotta see what's going to happen with Denver. Mike Caputo junior. I love the Utah got my colleague junior, hopefully poorly kick secure a body of free agency. The Houston Rockets are right there. If you acquire a guy like Jimmy Butler, I think it brings validity to what you're trying to do with James harden, because their peers it ain't like in Minnesota, where he was the big brother and he was trying to get car tiles, and wickets to by the rockets have been trying to get Jimmy Butler on their tee a couple of years. They offer four first round picks to get him. He has a dynamic player and look at it like me ask you this question. Jay. Yep. If you're Jimmy, Butler, you better law who you better the next two or three seasons with Joel and Ben Simmons or Chris Paul James heart. Well, if I get the sewer max and like you said before that I'm staying. If I get the max, I'm staying in Philly. But I will say this, though the, the dynamic personality, you didn't ask your lawn..

So if they want federal funding, they need to stop discriminating, Yale did put out a statement that says if an employer refuses to hire students at our Christian gay black or veterans they will not fund that position to which Holly says it sounds like Yale now has been exposed for what they're doing. They're wearing red white and blue shirts, whatever it is. And their team decides they're playing well their team scores a touchdown. And so to celebrate the touchdown because it's right there big patriot's day game was on Friday, but in honor of nine eleven they start chanting USA USA USA. That's now. That's offensive now. Because let me tell you exactly what happened. The parents are very upset because the students were told to stop chanting USA USA and that football game why? Because the principle of a Lisa gal high school. Miss. Denny christianson wrote any now and in that Email. She said exactly what happened. That during the game after the school scored a touchdown. And the students began chanting USA USA USA the rival school Santana high school their principal. Jeff Bishop walked across the field. And he said, look my school is comprised of nearly all Hispanics, and he said that my people beside on my side, they're very upset about some of the things that are being chanted and some of the signs and one of the signs apparently said build the wall. Now, people are at the game said nobody recall seeing the sign build the wall. But let that go so the principal principal Christian sent then said, I don't really think about sign anywhere. It was okay. Okay. Forget the sign your kids are chanting USA USA USA, and he said by chanting USA. When they scored a touchdown. It was quote disrespectful and hurtful to his students and community, unquote. Here is exactly what she said. This is now straight from the principal. She says that he came across the football field. And then he told her that this is hurting my students hurting, the parents of these students might community, and so can you stop with the USA USA? And so she wrote an Email explaining to parents why she told the students to stop chanting USA USA. And here's what she said in her Email to parents, quote that she expressed sadness and regret. That the students at Santa Ana high school had been hurt. And that she decided to capitulate the principal bishops request for the students to stop chanting USA USA after he threatened to remove his team from the field and not only remove the team from the field. He said he was going to call the media and say that you guys at your school are a bunch of racists. How dare you chat USA USA, you're just sticking it, I presume you didn't say it. But to the illegals whether they be in our on the parents or their children who are on our team quote. Here's what she said, I expressed sadness and regret that members of his community had in any way been hurt and again explained that the quote, red white and blue unquote game was a patriotic observance in reference to nine eleven and in no way in. Intended as an affront to Santa Ana high school. And I stated that many schools have such a game, but principal Bishop said that if our students continue to chant USA USA that he would remove his team from the field and contact. The media are student's section was subsequently informed of the misperception and willingly. There were basically told and willingly refrained from chanting USA for the remainder of the game. Principal Bishop, and I continued to talk, and I reiterated regret over any perceived disrespect principal Bishop, and I then hugged we then shook hands and he returned to his sideline now. This is a disgrace on every freakin front. I'm telling you this principle should be fired. If I was apparent at that school. I'd say lady I want your ass out in twenty four hours. You're gone number one. There is nothing offensive or racist about singing US are chanting. Forgive me, chanting, USA USA USA why it's done at sporting events. It's done at the Olympics. It's done repeatedly. It's the name of our country. They're celebrating nine eleven. That's all it is. Now, if you happen to have illegals that are either in your school, or parents of children who are illegals, that's your problem. That's not our problem. That's your problem. Now, if you were chanting may or may call may I bet you wouldn't have a problem with that Jeffy, boy, Jeff Bishop the principle of Santana high school, then I think your community as you call it. They wouldn't be offended by that I'm positive so you're in America, and you're offended by USA USA USA. Here's I'm telling you that principal walks up to me and says, hey, you better tell those students to Trump stop chanting USA USA or else we're going to leave the field essentially forfeit the game and contact the media. Okay. Guys, we leave the field all be happy for you to contact the media. And I'm going to basically say you hate this country. What is wrong with USA USA USA? Now that's offensive now. That's racist. Go ahead, contact the media make my day. And here to me is the worst part of this. They were doing the dishes. They're called her patriotic game. They're red white and blue game. They were doing this to commemorate nine eleven. To commemorate two three thousand Americans who were slaughtered and died on that day. By terrorists who hate America and hate our freedoms. And then you have to and by the way, if you remember when George W Bush bring you can you do me a favor, get me Bush, President Bush at the ground zero the day after the nine eleven terrorist attacks when he said, you know, I can hear you and pretty soon those that brought down these buildings are going to hear from us. At ground zero everybody who was there the survivors, the first responders the the national guard everybody that was there. You've got to Britney listen to what they were chanting roll it Britney. Listen to the hate listen to the racism, listen while my God. It's. Heil heil. Seventeen years later wonderful patriotic students to commemorate the three thousand who were killed. By islam. Ick radical terrorists simply because they hate our country in hate our freedoms now have to apologize and stop chanting USA USA because some group finds it offensive. It's disgusting. It's disgusting. And I am telling you that that principle for capitulating should be fired. And my question to you is this if this happened at your child's school, if you're a parent at this school or any other school whereby the students were told in a game to commemorate nine eleven that they had to stop chanting USA USA because he is considered racist and offensive and the principal caved and capitulated. What would you do? I say fire, harass agree. Disagree your calls next Thursday. And we got a storm brewing. Carolina's. I got people that live down there. So far, so good. But the president's told them if it gets calls get out, so we're going to keep an eye on that we're going to keep an eye on. We're also going to open up the box office..
