"Brought to you by washington policy center In focus. so when this public shaming work when does it go too far if you don't want people seeing your daughter wearing shorts that away too short how would you feel thirty million people did we'll get to that coming up should be allowed in your office techs app at nine eight nine seven three click the candy mike and todd show your why some people think it is a great idea like me and other people are mean and evil people don't think that that is that's not the digital tease i see in the notes here if you see a spacious suspicious looking dog and your neighbor that's not a wolf while you were gone i want to let you know that we mike and i had a professor on from university washington tacoma they're not wolves it's a it's a kyle i know there wolves in there in my neighborhood so who's working third about as a counterfeit but you're the first person who mentioned will i did the shit it looks like a wolf yes well i had pictures of it from when it walked past me the first time in there in the second one walk past in the second time and then the cat started going all this is recorded and i can find it wasn't i to investigative reporters candy it was a friar can on the show i showed my picture someone comment kind of looks like a wolf hybrid and i was like that's not a thing today at open mike with mike lewis what did candy salmon did she say it sellers in amazon.com bookstore Come feel beaten up. They bought counterfeit wild west stuff. and a fake canada goose cote don't you assume that nearly everything on amazon's fake now really just the reviews you're you're a big amazon.com shopper what what shocked you about this article was it the fake tongue scrapers or what took you aback candy so we're talking about this piece in the seattle times of first of all i am in amazon person to where i have the amazon credit card you addicts That's a. I need to go to AA high. i was on the plane boarding ordering my groceries and the guy next to goes we did it was like grocery shopping and he does what i said no i mean it'll be there then when we land we don't get delayed figure take them about like a half hour to get home and he goes i never thought of that of britain come on but the point is that what we have on amazon is such a huge marketplace now how do you know what you're buying is actually that legitimate label that you are spending the money on and one thing that they've looked at is the amazon books they've narrowed it down to look at these different big bookstore items and said sometimes when you order that book it's not the same book it's a counterfeit version and that's where some of these publishers a third party sellers are kind of having a little bit of a concern here because you're not getting what you're buying and more importantly you are not getting the information that they have published and i would say it's probably more than a little bit of a concern i think that the for the publishers and this is happening to people who make don't make a whole lot of money on amazon they make a little bit of per unit price on their selling a book these are famous authors these are a lot of textbook authors because as we all know for those of us who spent time in college classes with extraordinarily expensive textbooks the photocopies photocopiers at kinko's came in very handy because you needed to do something to afford these books of they're finding that technical books in particular are really subject to counterfeit laws but that's not the problem everyone knows what's going to happen the problem is amazon is very very very to use the legal term chill about the the the the the threat the the constant counterfeit books yeah they don't they do not then pick up the mantle and say hey seller we're going to help you stamp that out just like hey wow that's that's kinda lousy amazon specifically said they strictly prohibited mike lewis counterfeit products and last year that they denied account to more than one million suspected bad actors thank you very much yeah but the the book thing it seems to me pretty simple i mean wow see how hold is my daughter knows way what was it fifteen years ago we we're using plagiarism detection to go through and find that one news story was based upon a press release you could do this here this this could be straight screened and i think it is actually in a way more grievous with books i mean not that i want people getting counterfeit pharmaceuticals or skin products but it gets into your brain it's easier yeah you can just use a photocopier and that's what's happening here so let me provide a retort to amazon spokesperson this is also from the same new york times story the company whose books were sold to amazon by distributors did not test buys in other words it got copies from amazon so the company went out and ordered thirty four books thirty of them counterfeit of its own book it went out looking for them the publisher yeah when ordered its own book and found thirty among thirty four that were actual counterfeits this means that these are the end their photocopied there's much and on top of that they were literally getting calls from people who use these this is a technical medical book when the pages were smudged potentially putting patient's lives at risk we think he has gonorrhea yeah we're not sure the heart is actually into throw it could be guest to intestinal were non tireless certain on the foot yeah exactly so so this was the problem and they felt this company specifically they don't know company that sells books on amazon platform is enthusiastic about calling out amazon they're selling half their books on this platform and they're very very unhappy and you have to find the very unhappy ones who feel like they have nowhere else to go but to a reporter to win this stuff happened so i would i would respectfully disagree with amazon spokesperson it's a problem we bought some electric things a little tiny lights you can attach the wall for lazy people who don't know how to wire for some parts in in the basement and the cabin and i was excited said made in america i thought okay well these are cheap but made the america then i'm looking at the the the instructions and how to insert the batteries and all this realize it's written in absolutely gibberish it's nearly gibberish level english this is not made in america i looked really really close down at the bottom it said it made in america a morica so they took the oh and they've made a counterfeit of our country and the lamps they worked fun i felt good about that but they kind of fit our whole country so amazon do a better job what's the worst thing you've ever gotten out of amazon sincere up priming everything is great i ordered jeff bezos once he came in a box it's fantastic it was a little over package so you know that they're not gonna do anything for you just because you're nice to him on the radio which version of order they'd be young nerdy version or do you owe the muscular later version no way young nerdy that does it for me i'll be honest i everything that i get yeah i usually have a good experience with including returns i had a very seattle moment i popped down to you village with a return got a little ho- spindle thing is way too big they work my house anyway the point win to return in the amazon bookstore just boop the q._r. code right when i walked in she did little boop i wasn't even at a counter she just took the box for me she's like failure i hit the little boop pack face button on the way out the door and it was less than three seconds it was amazing oops tastic candy don thinks someone spent two hundred ninety five bucks nine hundred and twenty five bucks in a fake candidate coat problem number one don't buy goose coats well the candidates coz if you were in a cold climate that those coats a will People all over history. remember there's an equally cold goose goose gave a lot for that warmth aggregate amount of warmth ex-lion zero and i saw guy wearing one i'm like seventy two that's what i'm saying i see him all over the place it's become hipster ridden would come back onto candy mike and todd show when the social shaming goes too far when does it affective have you ever socially changed your kids ever will you admit it on the text line online trading academy nine eight nine seven three have you ever socially shamed your kids we'll get to that if you get a traffic.
