"Media purple tower of power it's the Terry Meiners show I was busy the free corn dogs in the city Goldman is the national media playing it wrong trying to make us look like buffoons when our primary election was smooth it was considering the hundreds of thousands of boats that Paul miles just mention obviously ninety percent of them are still yet to come in to be counted and that's the job at hand so all this talk about somebody's in the leader this set is in material and that means absolutely nothing it's Wednesday afternoon is that mean Ricky Jones is already on standby Ricky Jones only hello my brother welcome aboard our database I'm sorry I couldn't be face to face through this week because now I am without my birthdate but we'll try to make it through R. as you saw some national news outlets were bush showing people hammering on the doors at the Kentucky expo center that's a little bit over play there because we gave people days to vote in advance Malin opportunities it's like okay well they say the polls close at six what's the matter you can look at your phone see what time it is wait but the bigger the problem you know I think it it it it wasn't a deep dive into really is that what happened in Kentucky for this particular voting cycle for this particular primary that people had mailed in opportunities for few weeks even though there hasn't been enough talk about some of the glitches in people actually receive a mail in ballot actually a Hyatt but if the patient in Kentucky this year than we've seen in awhile even though you know I don't necessarily recommend reducing voting sites to warn click a minute I dont think that this was a a a a an example of voter suppression but certainly back in April you saw the GOP led legislature in the state I had a new boulder ID law which I do think can be placed in that category that highly problematic voter fraud is not a good thing in this country both the person is a real concern the media did get it wrong last night they did I saw John bull tweet that one of their way reporters is there he said they let people in the vote meaning here loyal until at least six oh three there was no one on the sidewalk trying to run in when they close the doors the people banging on the door showed up a minute or so after they closed the doors and all that that made the little piece of video that everybody wanted to play and make us look like fools and then the judge said okay well then leave it'll open till six thirty and so anybody who was there at six OO five six twelve six seventeen got in the doors you know yes it looks yeah to be clear the fact that the national media did not take a deep dive into what went on in Kentucky with voting last night does not necessarily mean that there have been some really old as political thing that happened in Kentucky or be clear about that but last night was not one of them it also we have to approach these things with some balance it is going to be interesting that we have to sort of wait for the drip drip drip of the result for a whole week because they can't tell us like tomorrow okay we've counted twenty percent of the mail and then here's what we have we're just going to kind of get a like but you know there's going to roll it out there and it's going to be stunning well I'm I'm sure no matter how you look at it well it it it doesn't matter to me because I'm waiting for this Bourbon sponsor once I get this Bourbon sponsored Ricky Joe so everybody wanted being or ninety three one real ninety three for our radio what I did is barb barb I'm gonna drink myself into a call and I'll wake up next week and we'll we'll know more once and I'll call you up with a theory it a week go back the UV light yes my brother install Booker's map editor or even half the they were not going to get ready to run against Mr I mean the gravity of the whatever the all too much worried about I think it's been eighty country we need to build a bit patient you know seven days and that law but let's go ahead Monday morning quarterback who ran the better campaign of these two leading candidates you just mentioned Charles Booker or Amy McGrath the actually stand for something schreiben grabbing the dog in the Democratic Party and they have a tendency to these local candidates and will grab that believe in anything you know I mean we literally fighting McGrath changed her opinion about some change her stance on stuff in ours because the public opinion was to talk about Brett Kavanaugh fifty but no other thing so nobody can really talk about exactly what a mammogram believes it's not a candidate was necessarily gray right Ciara Booker people might disagree with his opinion but they don't what his opinion aw he came across to me as somebody who's actually genuine genuine who actually cared about the book I mean he's he's deep up in Kentucky I don't know if anybody love Kentucky more than child book other the Mets don't mess don't read really love Kentucky without Bob dot org wait Charles Booker ran the better campaign and the Democrats really are about changes it shouldn't be a close race but you know so we'll see I agree I thought the Charles message was clear firm on wavering and he was able to talk about all parts of Kentucky and I feel like Amy McGrath doesn't talk to any specific region of Kentucky she's too bland at least her approach thus far has been to bland it's like I don't know who relates to our western Kentucky in eastern Kentucky and Louisville in selecting Tony as I don't know what politics a couple combo you know politicians want to play it safe let me let me compliment Donald Trump some for instance what we saw four years ago Donald Trump actually stood for something yeah it was all the wrong spot it may be the wrong stuff but you are clear on what he stood for people body brushing him straight again it was all wrong stuff it was retrograde but the man at the pump and that's what you want going to have to see a changeover kombucha people asking for an honest accounting of what's really going on in this country all race economic class politics education you know religion everything to ask the court of the county and if you're candidate we just played the fade you'll really want to have anything nobody can jam up on what you believe that I think people are going to turn away from you and and and hopefully we'll start it now read I I'd rather have somebody be committed and wrong so they could change the still be committed to what's right if somebody's willing and brave enough to be committed anything talking to Dr Ricky Jones he's chair pan African Studies university Louisville one other thing I know you're on limited time today there's.

So I mean you know, we're not down in public schools, but Catholic schools are the right fit for a lot of kids. Yeah. There's, there's certain things that you can get community wise. There's certain things you can get support wise and Catholic schools. You can't get in public schools, but especially you don't wanna go. I wanna go and can't afford it down to public. No, no. And I'm all look through. I just think the Catholic schools are the right fit for certain kids and the Catholic education foundation helps make that a reality. Here's what here's what I see the differentiates Catholic schools from public school. I'm a product of the public school. It seems to me like there's a tighter camaraderie and brotherhood sisterhood entity. Yeah valid. When you have Valentine's Day party. Now, towns day, all the parents show up. "Join the show, the top story tonight, Vince, tyrod was talking with the media after Jeff Brown turned down, the university Louisville to be their head football coach he's gonna stay at Purdue which star started a you know, what storm all night last night. As I try to tell people Twitter is not real, but you can't threaten right? Can't threaten people. Even know it's a kind of fake world, you can't threaten people and you can't threaten a school. And that's what happened last night. A guy named Thor Wilkinson Wildman Wilson. For twenty nine years old graduate university of Louisville in two thousand twelve with a communications degree. You would think they probably had a class that said, hey, you can say this on Twitter. Probably can't say this listen is there a picture of him? 'cause I'm just curious is a huge. Names for it's almost your responsibility to be a bodybuilder, right? Terry minors. I think said to eighty oh my Lord. I don't think he's above. Five eleven or six feet. So it's you but at two eighty oh with no hair. Oh. Okay. So I think. He's certainly going to learn his lesson. This type of person I will admit is the type of person I dealt with for twelve years over in sports radio where I never understood their thought pattern where the game winner loss was more important than just anything at that time. And I don't know if they were thinking they were funny, but this type of person not Thor. But this type of person would be the ones that wish ill will on players that don't play well that and you go are you serious? Did you really just say you hope to player got in a car crash on the way home? Did you just do that on Twitter happens all the time and this type of person? Needs to get a grip on their reality. And I will tell you Dwight in around twenty eleven two thousand twelve I was taking sports way too. Seriously. I was on the floor of the bathroom before the UK U of L game. And my stomach was sick. Because I couldn't take another loss to Kentucky basketball. And my wife came in and kicked me and called me all kinds of names girl who need to grow up. That's right. I the end of that day. I had decided I'm done, and I put all that away, and I stopped slowly, caring less and less and less and less and in two thousand eighteen about to be two thousand nineteen I swear to you mostly I support the players, and if they win or lose it's not really a big deal anymore for me. Do not care. See really the only thing that I was fanatical about was cubs baseball. And then also New York Giants football, and it's been about I don't know six or seven years for me because I used to get bad mood and pissed off. And then I started realize, hey, watching a bad New York Giants game better than not watch went all this year. They've been some really bad ones. Well, when you get when you get to a point to where I had to get there. I literally was sick to my stomach, and I couldn't even like sit on the toilet. I was laying on the ground almost tears, and I said, I can't do this anymore. Because I knew that when I went to work on Monday. I had to spend three hours of either taking it from UK fans or giving it to UK fans, and my stomach was rotted, and my wife, kicked me in the face on the ground. A girl said get grow a pair. You was you got to let this go. Let's get back to Thor and making his comments on Twitter written trinity by burning was burning the school. Now, here's the Leslie. Here's one of the lessons. Okay. Say now if I'm talking to you, and I say that and then we wanted to court. Yeah. And they say, hey, did you say that? No. I didn't say that. But if it's on social media screen shot and people were you know, what's out there? Yeah. Kind of like to catch a predator. Would they would walk in? I never contacted. And they say really you didn't say I wanted a blank your blankety blank. And they would read the transcripts so now he's going to sit in a courtroom while it reread that are you saying that you'd be willing to lie in court. Oh, yeah. Okay. I. Yeah. Cross my fingers. Okay. All right. Just wanted to make sure that Iran me in the bible. It says something about if you cross your fingers, I think Deuteronomy isn't that one of those. I thought that was like an orgy in the Roman. Oh, I don't think what am. I what movie am I thinking, you're thinking of colonial? All right. I'm sorry. That's something completely different. Is that Karl on the line there that Karl Lenore cultural, nor Karl or Carl how you doing buddy? How you guys doing great Carla? We were just talking last hour of whether it was legal or not the state of Kentucky to have sex with a corpse. Oh my God. Necrophilia? I don't know. It's actually as long as it's what within three hours hours because let's face it after three hours. It's just creepy. But then I also got confirmed by a few funeral director reached out, and he says you do indeed evacuate your bowels. Not your vows. But your bowels said at the time of death now. And it says it's also it's possible to get an erection and bodies do sometimes set up on their own. Why are we even talking about? Because this happened somebody died and the husband kept her around the house for a couple of weeks, and he got caught because allegedly he was dancing with this corpse in front of the window and people call the cops going. Yeah. We we know she's dead. Yeah. It is really sad. All right, Carl what are we talking about tonight? Of course, Carlino or you can find him on iheartradio app..

"Seconds before we went on the air. And we're doing it again. Hey fan. Can you get the ROY Clark? That's good. Bit pulled up ROY Clark passed away today. Everybody knows that man. Incredible guy. Hey, did you know at fifteen he had already won a national championship and badge? Oh, seventeen. He was simultaneous Shamal tenuously chasing. He wanted to be an athlete either baseball or boxing got into boxing ROY did. Yeah. Roy Clark did. And I decided, okay. I'll just go after music and then remember Jimmy dean Jimmy dean had television show. And he finally gets his break gets hard by Jimmy dean to play on this Jimmy karate show. Yeah. We couldn't get to work on tops. Jimmy, dean, fire disaster. So next thing, you know, he's back. He gets his airplane. Licensed pilot license he starts flying blades. Well, Jimmy dean set in for Carson. Reach back out that ROY Clark kid put him on Carson took off Gaza incredible guitar player. That's he he was again a fixture on he hall. It was interesting to find out how they filmed he all because you think well, they just started like most TV shows they film it as if it's lives. So wouldn't they have a three minute commercial break? They just take a break for three minutes. And when you come back you've got to come back, and they just take that show and then put it on. And they put the commercials in later well that was filmed in five minutes segments. So some of those people never saw each other. So they would film the bit where they were. She was needle old lady that was irony dirty old house. They lived in jokes. And then they did the in the cornfield where they jump up out until jokes. Those were all film separately all week long and the segment where they did the pick an ingredient where it was filmed separately. So oh, I think we have seen on Justin. How're you? You're on NewsRadio eight forty W H s with Tony. And why we brought you by the Kentucky office fire away safety. We're talking field hockey just eating. Jets team. I'm debbie. Well, I work. Oh, I'm sorry. Wrong. One. That's so I had the wrong. Caller ID. How are you? Good. I'm one of your top fan. Okay. All right. Debbie. I couldn't get in earlier. But you were talking about Garth Brooks. Yes. He was kind enough. He gave my sixteen year old granddaughter a Jeep for her sixteenth birthday. Wait. How did that happen? Well, my daughter don't want to give their names. But my daughter met him at her place of employment, and my daughter's a talker and telling him the story because she's a widow, and my granddaughter's bother passed away when she was one. He gave them tickets to go to a show in Houston. And then he said, I sent you a package you'll get it. When you get back. Well, I picked him up at the airport took him to their home. There was a Jeep with a big blue bow on no. But anyway, big blue bow. These two gentlemen, standing there everything paid for because my granddaughter would not have had a car, of course. And that's the kind of man, he is he we did you hear the story J crews just told where he said, look I'm gonna I'm gonna get out of the business until my kids graduate from high school, and then I'm going to get back in it. And that's why he disappeared for a while. Unbelievable over the years. Now this just occurred this year, but I've kept up with him ever since I was in. We were in Dayton. But anyway, also, he when he sent my daughter and granddaughter to Houston to see their performance, he and his wonderful wife had a birthday party for my granddaughter with a cake, they cut the cake. He sang songs they did videos for her friends and that was this spring. That's the kind of Manny as well. Okay. So you guys have to great stories about Garth Brooks. I'm gonna give you a not. So great story. I met. No. Listen, I was working the w AMC just brought I just bought a brand new Jeep, and we were interviewing him after the interview he stole my Jeep, some some. Son of so y'all can like Garth, thankfully. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. That's a cool story though. Right. Even took the big bowl. I had in the back seat. I let's go to the real just team salary. How are you just team? Yeah. Thank you for having me on. I love field hockey. I will confess that. Okay. It is one of my favorites. My maybe second or third favorite favorite sport behind football. My daughter plays it, and I didn't know much about it maybe seven eight years ago. But obviously just like anything else in any sport, the more. You learn about it the more you get into it. Justin. There's the national championships are coming to Louisville. Tell me what all about it. Yeah. So I'm actually I actually just stepped out of the banquet that starting right now with the full best teams in the country or the full reminding James, and you know, it's probably the best three teams that here in the sense undefeated Carolina team, Maryland fame, Princeton. And then you've got this little underdog white cars that has. A great run in the tournament starts tomorrow. They one PM game is the Carolina. This is why can the three forty five is Princeton. This is Marilyn it's going to be an absolute blockbuste- kinda day. We got some some of the best players the best teams in the country. And it's not just as you got a lot of international class. That's gonna be displayed out at trike assiting as well. I'm in the championship game will be one on Sunday. But I'm glad that you're up-to-date hockey fan not many people in the field hockey. But if if anyone around the area, they need to come and check it out doesn't send me an amazing. I'm usually pretty good at this. I think I'm gonna nail at this time. But you've got a little bit of an accent. I'm gonna say northeast, Wisconsin. As a close, Wisconsin, Justin. Hey, my niece. My niece Shoghi young actually just got a scholarship to center college playing field hockey. And I didn't know how fun these games never go to one of your niece. Did did you enjoy it? About it. I loved it. It's a great sport just team. The thing about Louisville is. And I'm gonna ask you how how Louisville landed the national championship. But I do know that for some reason Louisville for. Minor like a little league in highschool field. Hockey is a huge town for it. And from understand somebody moved here fifty years ago that was a huge coach very good coach and field hockey and just decided I'm going to build a field hockey culture here in Louisville because we have to travel to Saint Louis and Pennsylvania. In Virginia to get really good matches against the teams we have here because they're really good. I don't understand why it's not that. The why there's more not more cities like Louisville that has this passion for field hockey. How did Louisville land the national championship down at Trager stadium? Well, yeah. University of Louisville is nine facilities, and and they've always left a heist championships. And the thing is I believe this is a full time that we posted the final four we have one of the best in the country and administration and support staff put on a fifth class. And so anytime that we put in a bid fancy delays. Pretty pretty quickly makes the decisions that university Louisville Kentucky great events. So this is that full time. That's pretty rotten weather the last couple of days, some typical weather for this time of the year. But you know, we have a facility to mount with brushes and blows to get the ice off suggest by the Santa's of temperatures guy freezing. You don't wanna arsia flip Ray because it would just ruin the event, but I LA it's just what we do you of L. And you know, I feel very blessed to to kite. With Ellen sued hockey program. But ultimately, it was alcohol to be here. So that I. The second best thing to be able to attend tomorrow. And sit up looking out of my office. I love it. I love it. I love field hockey. And I will I will be down to watch those matchups you tell me what tickets are still available how they get tickets. And what are the times for the games this weekend? Okay. So the game times the one PM game. Caroline, this is white forest and then three forty five pm game is Maryland, this is Princeton and then on Sunday one pm, obviously the winners move on. Yeah. You can get tickets from the guys, let's website, NCWA dot com. But you don't say show up on the day as well. And we have a great facility with plenty of seats. Yes. You can just show up on the day. And and getting my problem. I love it just team and I will see down at a u of game. Also and good luck next year and we'll see down to this weekend. Go back into your banquet and have some fun. Okay. Thanks very much. Thank you. So much care. Stephen. I love the sport. I really do. I I it's not my my daughter's a goalie. So she's always in the goals. So it's which is nerve wracking. But it is and your niece. Yes. You'll play for center. She already is show. And here's the thing. Tony, and my in laws are always gone, and it's always like, Pittsburgh, Colorado. Yes. Yeah. I'll see how they do it. Yeah. Because for some reason Louisville's a hotbed for field hockey. I asked somebody wants, and they said, well this coach this famous coach moved down here fifty years ago and just said I'm going to build a culture of field hockey here. And he did I mean, the two of the best teams in the mid west are here in if it can and stealth, and they and they travel my daughter goes to Pennsylvania and Virginia and Saint.

I think you could find a way to get excited and you'll you'll get excited for something new, but anybody that's not Jeff Brown. I think would not get near the reaction you'd get as he would. It's not only the biggest higher for where the football team is going to land in the landscape of college football and how they fall on that scale. But it's the biggest because Louisville's lost hope just in general with how the basketball programs during the last couple of years the football program, you need some positivity. That's why it's important you've they've lost. Hope people aren't showing up. They have to do something to get people. Energized about local sports. I couldn't agree more Claes right about that one. I was concerned about the number of people at the basketball game the other day. And I think that is a slow slide here that we have had at the university Louisville to where the interest is down. If you told me you got a new coach for the first time or third coach since nineteen seventy two. And you would have fourteen thousand people to basketball game. That tells you everything you need to know about where this program is in into Claes point. It's not just your first real big higher for football. It is because the program is where it is. And you haven't had a really popular football. Coach Charlie song was great. But he wasn't great with the press. He wasn't great with fans. He, you know, at one point he called Louisville fans. Why can't you be more like Kentucky fans? We haven't had sort of that where the intangibles were there too. It's not just a good football coach. But he was good with the press and the fans loved him, right? Like Schnellenberger was thirty years ago. Totally right. I mean, every time you ask this fan base to dive in headfirst with no thought about how deep the pool is. We end up breaking our next. I mean, you have the basketball program, which is flying out of the year, the carnal all that stuff's going. Well, you get thoroughly embarrassed by the casino palace off which came. I mean, six years after another story along with Representative. That was also pretty embarrassing does is fans, and then you get through that. And you go through the debacle of self imposing a postseason ban for two thousand sixteen and you feel like all right skies, finally clearing. And then they FBI stuff happens. I think also with between. Oh, the fan base was told. Yeah, you're going to be the butt of jokes yet this guy tried to leave fifty different times the first time he was here. But he's going to win big. If you wanna keep winning big the way you were with Charlie strong. This is the only person we know who's going to accomplish that. And when that didn't happen. The fan base was like all right. We took carried all that water. We took all those shots from rival fan bases. We took all these motorcycle jokes and all this. And we didn't get the thing. The one thing. That we were promised to get out of all this. And I think all of these things piled up his lead to the cart just sort of Malays. It's the biggest deal Nick, especially if he doesn't get Jeff. He brings someone else in Jeff stays at Purdue or Jeff goes to Tennessee or wherever Dennis NFL. Right. I mean, if it's not, Jeff then more importantly will vote. Vince, finally, get the taste of Yeovil fans where they say, oh, okay, buddy. What are you doing up there? Right. We when we were talking about Vincent moment ago. Like what I can't think of anything. He's done. We're fans have really been overly critical of him. At all. You see is anything come to know only been about a year on the jobs. I can't remember anything W. Okay. Y interview where he and he ended up clarify about on how he shows it. Yes. Yeah. That was the one thing we're fans will like dude don't blame us. Don't call. And he kind of clarified and said that's not not what I was saying. But that's the one time where there's been any sort of pushback. You know, what I say get rid of the assigned park in green Greenland? The big concern that they can't go back at is an absolute lie. Go back to on hot chocolate seven dollars. This me off with them. We can't go back Syria. Can okay we are still waiting on the press conference will Clark is there. It will be a couple is is anybody on the headset. There yet find out if somebody needs to or we can talk to will or Paul Rogers or how he Lindsey are there. A lot of genuinely unfortunate incident surrounding you happened in this room. Okay. All right. But it's got the. The basketball mural on the back of the wall there, and it it is packed.
