The Supreme Court Fight

"President. Trump will reportedly nominate Amy Cockney Barrett, a favorite of social conservatives to be the new Supreme Court justice. The president's decision to be officially revealed at the White House later today. Has been confirmed to the BBC's US partners, CBS News and other U S media. She would replace the Progressive Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died last Friday. Nomination will set off a bitter Senate fight to get her confirmed as November's White House election looms. Our correspondent in California is David Willis. I asked him about Amy Cockney Barris Bad is a devout Catholic. The mother of seven and assuming her nomination is confirmed by the U. S Senate, she will be the youngest justice on the Supreme Court bench. At the age of 48 was seen as a front runner to succeed Ruth Beta Ginsburg, but she is nonetheless the ideological opposite. Of the woman that she is expected to replace. Miss Ginsberg was the leader of the liberal wing of the court and unequivocally pro choice. Of course, Ms. Barrett has called abortion in moral and since being appointed to the Court of Appeals by President Trump. 2017. She has twice ruled in favor of restricting access to abortion. Hence, liberals see her appointment is a potential threat to row versus Wade. That's the landmark 1973 ruling, which legalized abortion nationwide here. A lot of Republicans are very happy. Yes, Republicans on deed. The president's political advisors hope that this election will energize his conservative political base. Evangelicals, religious conservatives In particular Democrats. For their part, I think there may be hoping that this could inspire liberal voters to take to the polls in defense of amongst other things, Roe vs Wade in the past week. In fact, they pull several polls. Have shown that most Americans, including many Republicans, believe that the next Supreme Court justice should be selected by whoever wins the presidential election here in November, and not by Donald Trump. Before then, on that subject, though, there has been some speculation. Hasn't there that if the result of the November elections is disputed legally, that possibly this new lineup of judges could intervene on the president signed. Well, that's absolutely right. Bear in mind that last other justices have been improved in presidential election years. None has been voted on. After July And four years ago, Senate Republicans refused to even consider then President Obama's nomination on precisely those grounds that should be left to whoever Was chosen as the next president, but as well as key issues such as abortion and immigration, universal health care, the US Supreme Court could, as you say, be called upon. To adjudicate the outcome off this forthcoming presidential election. Should the result be disputed, as they're now seems every chance that it will be President. Trump has repeatedly claimed, of course, that the Democrats that trying to steal the election he seems Poised to challenge any result. Really, that doesn't declare him the winner, and this week he refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses, and that's why And he's made this quite plain. He wants toe rush his nominee through the Senate by Election Day. How large in the psyche of American voters do you think the lineup of the Supreme Court is The Supreme Court is important, whether or not it actually masses a great deal to the average voter is another matter. I mean, they shape large parts. Off life here and, of course, they are appointed for life and its therefore significant that Amy Cockney Barents confirmation would shift The center of gravity on the Supreme Court considerably to the right, giving conservatives six off the nine seats, possibly for many decades, and the replacement of a liberal icon move played against the with an outspoken conservative like Amy. Tony Barrett has been called the sharpest ideological swing in nearly three decades as Faras, the highest court in the land is concerned, so the potential implications of this are significant. How much They actually count as Faras Day to day living. His concern of Americans here I think is another matter. The

Trump won't commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses

"Close to two million voters have requested a ballot. When asked about the upcoming election yesterday, President Trump would not say outright that he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power. ABC senior White House correspondent Cecilia Vega says Trump is citing concerns about mail in voting. There are five states where this universal mail in voting that the president is opposed to his already been in place for state's working on adding it for this election, all because of the pandemic and concerns over health, the health of people voting in person, no evidence of widespread voter fraud related to this type of voting, but that is not stopping the president ramping up these attacks as we get closer and closer to Election Day.

Alchemy and Herbalism

Alchemy and Herbalism

"Hey there everybody sage a here and welcome to the fourth and final part of our alchemy and. You've been getting inspired and illuminated a little bit on the tradition of alchemy and the profound influence that it can have on your work with medicinal plants and as an herbalist, and you know this week's discussion is kind of taking it to the another step here, another level and looking at. How alchemy releasees disease and healing and what exactly AL chemically prepared herbal medicines or spirits are doing what happens when you start working with spongier because. As. We've found over the years, these types of herbal medicines, how the pretty different way that they affect us. Then you know your standard forms of herbal preparations. So last week introducing a little bit about spongier and how they're different from standard or extracts and the way in which. Are. As this branch of the AL chemical. Tradition, that focuses on working with plants, how they are really working holistically on the whole person because they contain the whole plant in the way that they are concentrating the chemical, the energetic in the spiritual properties of the plants they are then working on the physical psychological and spiritual levels. Within a person that takes them. But like how exactly are they healing us what's going on there and how does alchemy view health and disease, right? So I like to summarize this in in short little statement, which is. Our illness is our initiation and what do I mean by that? Well, basically, according to alchemy everything in nature is in a constant state of change in flux and transition or transformation. And and from looking at nature, we see that everything is always changing and transforming from the turning of the seasons and the cycles of the moon and. The way that plants grow the way that. Animals, migrate and go through hibernation. Everything in nature is going through these processes of transformation and human beings are not separate from that even though we built a world to kind of try to separate ourselves from nature, we ultimately can't do that. When we do it Ultimately makes a sick in different ways, but we see that in alchemy everything is in a state of transformation and. In that way like from the human side of A. That transformation is is seen as ourselves striving towards a greater level of wholeness within ourselves and wholeness with our environment or harmony equilibrium with our environment and coming to a place of. Unity with the world in which we live looking at it from a spiritual side of it. You know alchemy is ultimately a spiritual practice as well as a practice of medicine, but inherent to its orientation to medicine is that our spiritual development inherently tied to R. Hewing Process. So the way I like to think of it as that, you know healing and our souls evolution or development are really two sides of the same leaf right anyone that's ever embarked on a spiritual path. which me is to me is really just wanting to become a better person right wanting to. Reach a greater level of self awareness and collective awareness and universal awareness. Anyone that's embarked on that journey. We always come up to those challenges. Right we always hit those blockages. We hit those parts of ourselves that are resistant to change that are resistant to transforming that are stuck in the past right we've all gone through. Different levels and types of trauma really throughout our lives that can really hold us back. From developing and growing and evolving spiritually. So whenever we try to do that inevitably, we discover that we have healing work to do right that we have to. Come to a new level of awareness and perspective on our lives, and really the way I like to think of it as taking our trauma and turning it into our

Calming the Chaos with Tracy Kenela

"Right everyone. Welcome to the addicted mind podcast. My guest today is Tracy Cannella and she is going to talk about. Chaos Tracy please introduce yourself. Hi Duane. It was good to meet you just a little bit ago and I love talking about chaos. In fact, my podcast is all about chaos and I have chaos in my life, and so here I am to talk about the possibility that we could actually be addicted to chaos aware chaos meets your specialty area, which is addiction. I know. I was so excited that you wanted to come onto the podcast because I had listened to your podcast and I really love it calming the chaos. Because I think anybody in addiction can relate to having chaos in their life. Oh Yeah. Yes I believe. So I think the the definition that I like to give away. Do you want me to introduce myself I? Yeah. Tell me a little bit about you and how you got into this work and why this particular topic chaos is meaningful to you. Yeah. So I am a licensed mental health counselor with a variety of certifications in eating disorders, rehabilitation counseling and hypnotherapy, and I have a private practice in Washington state. And so how I got interested in this? Topic of chaos is because I found that most of my clients who came in for therapy were really struggling with overwhelm and then I was in my practice at the time I developed the podcast I was very overwhelmed with people wanting therapy with me, and I just didn't have enough room in my practice to support them and always wanted to do a podcast and I thought well. You know let I'm just going to do one, and then I'll have a place to refer these people to in addition to other mental health counselors in the area. But then they could hear my voice and they can hear some of the things about overwhelmed because I really thought. This is that universal theme that most everybody brings in the therapy session why not do a podcast about? It and directs and people to a free resource that they can get help. It's a self help podcast and I really love doing it. It's it's great and it helps me come my own chaos because I have to hold my own self accountable for practicing the skills that I I suggest on the podcast. Absolutely. That's so true when you're talking and doing the work and talking to. People about how comic as he got to do it in your own life but I think you're absolutely right. This is such a universal topic I know that in my own life there have been times when I'm just overwhelmed you know it's it's so hard to get organized sometimes it's almost concealed paralyzing when you you've got all this chaos going on. So let's just start by defining chaos. Yes. So what is chaos anyway and there are several definitions I talk about in my very first episode of my podcast but in a nutshell, it is complete disorder. Unpredictable behaviour random or intense situations. So this could be actual real situations or imagine situations in your mind. It's also small changes that happen in bundles or are sensitive in nature and any sort of disorganization, and finally my favorite definition of chaos is a confused mass or mixture which I like to use to describe when I'm in the kitchen because it is pretty much chaos. When I'm cooking, I can definitely relate to that definition at times especially with all, that's going on in the world and everything changing and with a pandemic, and their feels like there's a lot of chaos right there are there's just a lot of sensory input. There's things you see on TV there's things that you hear from your next door neighbor there. Are Things you hear on the radio and all of these conclusions you come to in your mind just add up to a lot of wellm because of what's happening in our world today and we just in our minds, make it into something that it may or may not be. So I'm very fascinated by it but that's the definition of it. It's just a lot and overwhelm

Canadas Single Payer Prevails Against Privatization Attempt

"I, Benjamin. Day. And I'm Stephanie Nakajima. And this is Medicare for all. The podcast for everybody needs healthcare. Today. We have Dr Monica debt who is on the board of Canadian. Doctors for Medicare and Public Health and family physician. Nova Scotia, we're thrilled to have her on today to talk about historic legal challenge to the Medicare program that was just heard by the Supreme Court of British Columbia and spoiler the victory delivered by the court to the country single payer system. I cannot wait to hear about this welcome Dr Dot and I'm just curious before we get into the topic. I mean. You're a family physician, but how did you get involved with? Felt the need to get involved with? Health reform. Protecting the Canadian universal healthcare system, but also trying to expand it and improve upon it. Here Hi. Thanks for having me on your podcast I'm really excited to be here. I've been a family physician about ten years. Now, I've worked in a range of settings from big cities to to mainly though northern. Towns across Canada and I've always been in settings where I've very much appreciated. The fact that my patients have access to healthcare wherever we are whether it's a small town or a big city. You know there's there's variations of cross across the country, but fundamentally, all of my patients do not need to worry about. Physician and hospital care. They do not need to pay when they come see knee or when they get to the hospital they know they can count on that care and that's always been really important to me. I also work in public health in very much care about health policies that. Benefit the health of a community of population and absolutely access to to healthcare is a fundamental determinant of Health I. Think it's something that I wanted to support in a in a everywhere I can in one of those ways has been through involvement with Canadian Doctors for Medicare for about the last ten years. and GM or Canadian for Medicare A as a nonprofit organization we've existed just over ten years and our. Fundamental goal is to maintain an improve our single payer publicly funded healthcare system in. Canada. So we want to maintain that single payer but at the same time know that there's there's always things we can do to make it better, but we can do that with a single payer system. So that it might be a bit confusing for our listeners. To hear that the Canadian single payer healthcare system is also called Medicare since we have a program called Medicare that only. Available for seniors sixty, five and older Whereas Canadian Medicare is of course. Accessible to everybody from to cradle-to-grave. So can you just talk a little bit about how Canadian Medicare works are there are there physician networks? Can you ever lose your coverage? Are you allowed to just out of the system or pay to jump the queue? So we do color our health care system Medicare in Canada at the same time when it actually is it's a series of we have provinces and territories, and so there are thirteen provincial and territorial health insurance programs across the country. So every province and territory is responsible for delivering care. Under the umbrella of what's called the Canada Health Act, which outlines the core principles of of Medicare and Canada and one imposes is universality but really it's a a series of health insurance plans that everyone is covered for primarily for physician and hospital services. So for example, where I work I see patients I build my provincial health insurance program I get paid in that way I cannot bill a private insurance program for for my services. Because it is publicly funded. I'm not allowed to then go in and bill a private insurance program. So for the pieces that are covered publicly through universal system, you cannot buy insurance to go see a physician or go to a hospital privately you need to access it through the public system just as as everyone else does we do have some of our care about thirty percent that is privately paid for either through supplemental insurance or through. Private payment, and that covers pieces like dental care some medications, physiotherapy other allied health professionals, and to be honest it's a gap in that we don't cover some of those pieces, but the vast majority of of care is covered under our public system.

My Problem with Masks (It's Not What You Think)

"Being welcome to remarkable. TV. And the remarkable leadership podcast today I'm talking about my problem with masks and it's not what you might think. Are you ready? Let's get started. As I sit here, recording this I'm wondering and thinking about six months ago wouldn't have been possible for us to be thinking about masks for me to record an episode with a mask on or for it to become one of the most contentious issues in our country. It's almost unbelievable. Now I have a problem with masks not political and it's not scientific. Here's my problem with masks. Masks hide are smile. See our smile is universal infants recognize them instantly, they know no borders they know language they know nationality smiles can change relationships smiles can make us more influential smiles can change the meaning of our message and masks hide are smile. So if you need to wear one in. Six. There's some things I'd like you to consider if you have to wear the mask, put it back on and try it like that. So. If you have to wear one and you can't see your smile smile with your eyes. If you smile really big people can see it in your eyes. Smile. Really big and let your eyes do the smiling for you. Second use a hand signal if you work with a team of people and you all have to wear masks all the time. Come up with a signal to let you know I'm smiling mark. It's the thumbs up or what I don't care what you pick. Pick something that everybody knows. So you can say, Hey, I'm smile and it's okay. It's kind of like the emoji remote economy email to let people know where smiling find a way to communicate others if you have to wear the mask and the third thing in some situations, it might be okay to laugh I mean laugh is a verbal smile, right? Vocal smile and so the reality is

"And which point you're gonNA try at once. Yeah. So quicker than that, and you have to try all three times if you WANNA get in, don't assume you know what I'll just wait for the four o'clock one I'll just get in on that note. Has Everyone that failed at ten o'clock and one o'clock is going to be there. Yep. Okay so As long as you're tickets are linked on your my Disney experience and everyone in your group is all linked up. It's like a symphony. You have to get it all just perfect on the guest or you can enroll your entire party into the virtual queue at the same time that means only one person in the group needs to do this, but everyone needs to be linked wrecked. Correct okay there. Real quick on that though there are rumors that trying for less people at once we'll get you a better opportunity to get in. So if you're a group before breaking into two groups of two. You may have a better shot. And that works for dining to sometimes and passes. Yep, and guess should make sure that the push notifications are turned on to that. APP My Disney experience APP so that you will be alerted because you're supposed to be alerted when you need to return. But it doesn't always happen and the rumor is it's not happening more often like you have to keep checking the. APP. So you're actually that's worked out. But if you're giving the alert, you're going to have up to one hour from the time of the alert to get to the entrance of star wars rise the resistance. So, if you're finishing lunch, it's okay. You have an hour to get there. You're good. but you do need to I. Think your biggest issue is missing that alert. And getting. Cantina an open, a tab I mean. That's what I would do. If you don't get the alert catch back available to book. That step prizes me. Well they probably have small. Yeah they probably have every other table. It's still small. No. Yeah. So. There is a note. There is a note here. The that's suggest that just because you have just because you've got into the virtual queue does not guarantee that you're going to experience resume the resistance. So does this mean Ou-? Yeah I mean that's like any ride any cue that you enter nothing's guaranteed so They don't anticipate problems but please know that. If there are problems they're very sorry. And what's the reset? Isn't ninety minutes? I haven't heard. Sharpie. Is that it? Remember Ninety minutes. So, if the if the ride goes down, it's ninety minutes till, they can get it back up. Interesting Walkabout along reboot. I complain about my computer. Oh. So that's the way they're doing the queue with Raza the resistance. Hopefully, it'll smooth itself out. It sounds like it has a couple of wrinkles, but we'll get there sounds like one of the things that I think. Lauren. was earlier if you only get to get one of the Times so if you can get in attend, you can't try again from what I understand for one and you can't try again for or so you get one of the the slots my understanding to to allow everybody an opportunity. Cool. You can't write it twice in a day. Yeah. which you know you gotta wonder though if it's really quiet. and. Available if the system will override let you book. Can give it a you can find out. For us. I. Don't know we'll see. All. Right. So let's see. Steve you're next. Oh Yeah. So a update on wearing a mask. So Universal Studios originally opened and we did a show on that and I don't know twenty and twenty five pixies from pixie vacations, and everybody from here pretty much went with family and friends and I mean some of them spent a whole week there and at universal, you had to wear a mask all the time, and then with Disney opening on Lawrence show this coming next, she'll talk about it but you have to wear masks there. So they've made some edits to wearing a mask as they're. Learning and things are changing. So you used to be able to kind of get a snack and a drink and take the mask off and walk around but I assume that quickly got abused and instead of arguing with team members and cast members about Oh I was just carrying the soda for fifteen hours and taking a SIP they you know now instead of getting into the situation, you can't you can't snack and walk or snack and drink you have to eat or drink your item and then put your mask on and go about your day. So that's at both I guess Universal Studios. Yes pullover, eat and drink, and then put the mask back on and move to the next spot and when they went when you guys went to universal. They the gators which are these kind of. Like on the bus, the buffs on survivors cyber TV show were very popular but they They're just very loose and very thin. So I assume that's why those are. Sort of. Yeah. So they're. Sort of not allowed or maybe are allowed because we did hear it depends on a few things to let a let Lisa jumping. I can read the official word. This is for Universal Studios Window Flora. So we should preface with this is not the official where Disney the official word at Disney is absolutely no gator I write. They, call them, gators. I don't know why they're called caters. They're called gator next.

"Don't Chris Sharpie. That was that was the the also ran. It's it's more of a prank but I think one of the biggest ones more attentive service just because of crowd sizes because you guys experienced your sit down restaurants. They're going to be operating at such low capacity. The the servers are not going to have the volume of tables at running running from table to table Yeah I I think it's kind of a given because Disney is not going to minimally staff just because of the cleanliness situation that's going to be acquired APP. Yep I agree and I think Disney's attention to detail on a normal basis is amazing so imagine when they actually have the time to do it on top of it you know. I think I think the tire overall experience is going to be. Do you think they're going to bring back table linens instead of sanitizing services? Do you think they would do that? Well that's a lot of washing now but but really if you think about it. It's IT'S A it's a more health conscious because you're switching it out us. Yeah because you're you're you're switching out between each each party so I dunno maybe that maybe that's something that that's always that can kind of bugged me even at some like the the the nicer even signature restaurants the Glenn and it's like Baritay I'm paying sixty five seventy eighty ninety dollars per meal here and the tables bear and I have a paper Napkin. It's like yeah so the and things like that. I think sometimes Disney needs to do some reconsideration on that because of the guest experience. I don't know maybe maybe is something that they will do I I still think they're GONNA BE USING PAPER. Napkins odd but I think it's easier for them to sanitize tablecloths yep sending out to send out the laundry who knows that was kind of small quirky things you never know if that's something that is going to happen or not or whether they're just going to wipe the table down with bleach in between guests and that would work but then you also have people that are allergic to bleach. That's very true. When you guys were universal studios were they having like disposable menus or limited menus or and. Qr codes yeah so they had disposable one time use only menus as well as like Lauren. Saying the qr codes where you just look it up on your smartphone. And they've got something on the table. Oh that's a good idea. Like most of their stuff like either a candle or the glass day need like a cat scan. It would be awesome as like an augmented reality APP. Were you pointed at the table and then you the food items in your phone like they're sitting there in front of you that would be cool wayfair feature at wayfair like see this. See this couch in your room. The plate would be the size of the equator. I mean that was like us at city works right Lisa. We're GONNA have on best of what of that one of this limited. Yeah that was. We actually did have one of everything. Yup and is that.

"People were waiting for the the big E ticket attraction so they waited for that and then they probably haven't seen it yet a lot of people probably haven't seen any of the star. Wars stuff is amazing. And then you you guys got to ride a Mickey Minnie's runaway railway over it and then it was studios. Yeah yeah very quickly after. Yeah so a lot of people haven't seen that and that's an amazing attraction Bourne identity literally just opened today over Universal Studios in Orlando. Which is there no new? Show kind of stunt show so that's new so you've got a bunch of new stuff that opened and then Just just recent winning. I think that I just. I don't know something in me tells. May and we're usually wrong so you know you might want to take that under advisement but we enjoy being wrong. I mean you know. Got A fifty fifty shot at this so But Yeah I do. Not Think fast is coming back free they. This is our one and only opportunity to change the system. They'RE NOT GONNA they're not GonNa not do it. Any other transition would be too difficult. Yep Okay so in conjunction with lower crowds. One of those effect affects is going to be lower. Wait Times and I've talked about no fast passes but I think even without the fast passes you're going to have a shorter wait time Because you simply have fewer people in the Park Epp Nice. Yeah that was cut. And we did see that universal. We did Times were there was like one or two rights actually had some weight but otherwise it was like basically the amount of time it took you to walk through the queue. Was your wait time right. That's how it was with haggard for the most part but I do have to say with The hogs hogwarts express I did not have extract express passes and a lot of other people did and it probably took us half an hour because they were doing one party per cabin right and the line wasn't law now but when you've got reduced capacity you do Increase your wait time. So it's it is a give and take but I think it's still favors us as far shorter weights Ride capacity on certain things is going to be lower capacity every other row type of thing based on what we saw at universal. So Roller coasters half capacity. But you still have only a quarter of the people in the park. Roughly oh I think it's still a win. Gresh all right. Sue R. E. Sharpie. You hit the next one absolutely this one has to be a private showing of the Tiki Room. Yeah can't actually believe that's going to happen could happen. You could be private showy at the ticket. Wow you..

"Let's do. Oh, back in the parks over at Universal Park they got rid of the Terminator Attraction, and they put in the Bourne stunt. Stunt, tack you're. And this is an action show. That has not yet officially opened, but they did have soft openings or trial runs. And although I didn't get to see it. few there are a few of our agents did and they said the special effects were unbelievable, and they're working through some of the kinks. which is what you do with a soft opening and. They can't wait for it to to come out. Fully polished, so look for that one to open. It's going to try to watch it, but by the time I got over there the seating full already, and it was an hour before the next show so I went, and they were done for the day, so that didn't work out and I needed to go play on habits more than I needed to do that. All about priorities. You have to prioritize some to us. It's terrible Let's jump to anti. He Does I. don't even know what night we did this, but we did anti he does. To heat US yes favor. It was a wonderful experience once again. My only complaint would be that they crammed. Fourteen of us at a table for. Eight or ten Ray. was tight, but anyway at least them in Vivo I think were the least accommodating with the large group, but we also didn't give them advanced warning tonight, so that's probably why. I think that. In the end, I didn't even notice that we were tight. It was fun out. Yeah you know. Once I stopped wining. We were good. Yeah. The food that we had a fantastic server. she was from Queens New York of course. I liked her And the food was amazing as usual as usual Guacamole was amazing. and. It was it was fun. It was time. WAS THAT CRYSTAL Did you walk enroll? We Jed. Crystal so we may as well give her a shout out. Yes, was really awesome, yeah! Oh and then I'd got to try the. The appetizer. What was that Lauren? It was fun fun Dido thing now with the. Call it air. Yeah, that was good, but the sausage in that was benign I still one ears. That was good you too I did still to. that could have been my meal. That was so good. I mean it's heart attack on a plate, but it was wonderful. What else did I get? jelly rolls is opening October first..

"Extensions with a lip on them that they drill onto the door and you can use your foot to open the door. With just minimal. Leverage! and. You don't have to touch it. Fascinating it. It's sort of everything. It's funny because you know I was really excited about this. I'm like you guys have to check out the new foot pole in the door and some people like it wouldn't work for me like you don't step on it. You pull it. Completely Manual mechanical. So but that was great going through the pictures. What else did we do? We we walked around and did a little shopping. US in Disney Springs. That may yeah, maybe trump and kind of the same. Yeah. The Big World Disney store. We went. It was the one we went into that night and so you can only enter over by like Putin area that section of the story we did. The other two doors are only exits. So, they only have one entrance into the world of Disney, and then they have two different doors that are exit entries exit areas Oh! I thought that store looks beautiful by the way. Out An air show, okay, so another thing to note with. Disney I don't know about universe I didn't notice at Universal, but Disney. Is. Keeping Quite, a head count on the store an occupancy, so they've got one person staged at the entrance store and one at the exit door. They've got little handheld devices. In your party. or it'll be just a moment. Oh. There's two okay. Go on in, and they put down and then when you leave, they mark, you is gone, and so they know exactly how many people are in the store at any time, and so they limit the occupancy. And they do that in all the stores. And we should also note when you're entering Disney springs that they do a temperature. Check on you entering. Disney Springs, so you just walk through the Little Tent. They do the the no touch temperature scam. Oh. So glad that. I'm glad this forest and come out like in the seventies. I know okay rectal. Like I just can't. I can't bend over anymore. Just to tires. You think the Cova test is bad, thank. Thank goodness. Public, thank goodness, there is advances in their. Mama Tres.

"Wrong with them? And they're like nine and ten and twelve feet so. I I'm being honest I ignored. The spacer is and I just kept a six foot distance. Trying to do what was right and. I did get yelled at I got confronted. And is told to stand on the placards. Stand on the markers. And she said when you stand six feet in front, or in back of the people in front of you, you are now within six feet of the people across from you, so they've got it all figured out six feet in all directions. Did. You notice that. I. Didn't even catch that. Thing. So that's why the spacing is so wonky. It's because it's not just in front of you and in back of you. It is to the sides as well so they consider everything. And while you guys were on Hulk, we were all under hulking that little sitting area. There's nobody around there, and it was all really just US know. A few of US had kind of just pulled our mask down a little bit to breathe a little bit because we were, it was just ask. And somebody came through and said. Can you please put your mascot and they're willing nicer up, and it was fine. It was no big deal but they didn't know we were all together now. But yeah, I thought they I thought they did I. Mean Kudos Universal Seriously. I did not feel. Like any of it, even the mask I went down there. Thinking I'm going to die. It's going to be ninety degrees I've got to wear this mask. It was fine. You have to bring a couple of different masks and find the one that works for you for me. It was the gator which I don't how much it protects me but it was the one that was the most comfortable for me, because I could cool it. I could read it and it and it was kept my neck, nice and cool. but find the one that makes you comfortable. Find the one that works for you definitely before you go. Investigate those masks. Hater. You've seen that you wear that here. The gator it's it's this sky on Oh. Is that next thing its neck one? It was awesome. It was the most comfortable. Of, you guys were in those. It was backhand income. It's not filtered. You know well, so a scarf. Kind of polly also make gators with filter pockets and Harbin filters, and so I had those. And so if you will worried about that by the way. Oh. I gave it to me to give to you. Oh, okay. But I also wanted to point out that. I was worried I'm there with my family and Steve's worried about US coming back sick and stuff and. You worry and then I get there. Between. I didn't even think we needed the masks personally because the social distancing was so well maintained. Yeah, and so I felt doubly doubly safe. ME. and not everybody's.

Did you guys stay? What hotel are hotels? So, we say the Avin Chara. And then Lisa actually stated there the whole time because her room was bigger there and then a bunch of US switched over for express pass to rail Pacific though. is a universal resort, and it is a value resort where we saved a good bit of money and what we booked. I went with the with three girls. My two and then our niece. And? So the four of US had a room and I did get a deluxe room just so we could spread out a little bit more. But it's still two queen beds, but la extra space because it's it's a corner room well. If you can call it a corner, it's around building, so say the is A. isn't that building? A somewhat circular. Fascist my corner room. Yeah, and we had a fantastic view of Kaneohe Bay. But. We had an air conditioner that meet clicky noises and I'm. A percents to clicky noises so it wasn't GonNa work and I couldn't stop the clicky noise, so we did get moved, and they did move to a kid suite, which is essentially the same type of rounded room on the end, but it has an extra. or they split it up differently, so the main area has a king bed. And then there's another. Room that is sectioned off by a curtain that has two twin beds, and then there's another third room that we sectioned off with some curtains That's really a sitting room TV room. That had a pullout double bed double sofa, and Brooke stayed there, and she loved so each brocade her own room. The two middle girls older girls had their own room and I had my own room, so it was their own. Yes and so it didn't make sense I had reservations over at Real Pacific. But then we'd be moving to queens and a smaller room. We'd get the express pass, but it did not make sense to me, so we. We stayed. Winning the recipes. So how is? So.

Walt Disneyworld They're going to want to drive or take a quick flight and they're they're not doing those European vacations they're not doing a Alaska cruise. They're not doing anything like that. For Twenty twenty. Well expedia did a survey while they didn't really do the survey. They just looked at their own data. The destinations that people are looking at right now are a lot of domestic ones and the number one destination is Orlando. Yeah that's why they WANNA go. So that's that's just been I though. I'm sure if you've been searching a lot that could very well be anything yet Orlando Orlando. Have they released anything at have? "I am welcome out yet it's still speed today Lauren and happy are you guys doing hi how are you great we went to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights and we did with the kids and we did that and then I drove back from Universal Studios in Orlando so and then she headed off to Miami to a conference for travel and then she's there and then then she's in the Bahamas the stuff was sandals and beaches resorts are you en- warriner aren't you going there I will be there yes and surpise wife Jessie therapies will be there at I get some fish sharpie time I like Mrs Sharpie Time Yeah so you can we will report back on beaches resorts and sandals resorts inclusive and weddings if you wanted to a wedding or just regular vacation so they're all going there for four or five days and I'll still be here but yes so all the settling on fourth down safe so the home as well I'm I'm on Solo Dad duty over here quickly jotting down my instant pot strategy for next week so there you go well you have pizza here so we're good think for a little bit but we were recently all of us were at Disney world for the mouth shut meet up and to renfrew star wars galaxies edge and a multitude other things that are always going on at Disneyworld and of course while we were there a hurricane look like it was going to hit Orlando so we thought we'd do a show on what to do at Disneyworld if a hurricane is coming you know it was yes and it wasn't then it was like it was a two week adventure the honest to goodness I felt like Dory I'm was just like you know I'm just GonNa hang out here there maybe I wal- I saw I saw one name on facebook that said Hey Doreen are you coming like yeah I'll be right air ten minutes later hey during are you coming out who all's they're notorious no no you either come ashore or stay out there but in the end we're glad jury and decided to stay out to sea so with lose nemo in finding Dory N- no yeah that's that's the thing with going to Disneyworld this time of year and then you know a a week before sometimes we have clients calling you know I see there's a hurricane that was in the general vicinity might be there in a week and and what should I do but I mean nobody really knows just like that hurricane until it's really right there I mean you can get an idea that it might be going there but Disney and you know they're not gonNA cancel reservations or whatever a week out so that's that's one of the things but if you book with a travel agent then you know they have the FRAC with Disney to keep you up to date on what's going on and what's Disney doing and are they gonNA close the parks or not and as soon as that information comes out we'll have any in or able to pass it on but so they did close the parks this sometimes they closed the parks seems like they're closing the parks more often than they used to in the past Austin the gray hit Houston never close them a now it seems to happen more and more NAM Yeah well I think the the the the really big part of that is not only the we've.

"That was hanging around but then the zombies won't let I'm used Porta potty and it's funny because they're not real porta-pottys their props and they're there to scare off anyone that tries to use them at it was funny in the end Rob Zombie hell belly deluxe and this is heavy metal horror got great music and just raging madness this is this is over by which we call it the new ride it with the car racing yeah I can't remember but yes yeah fast and furious Nelson furious over that are Okay Architecture K. Arcade anarchist and like anarchy but anarchy so it's based on a a sinister eighties the teaming of it is cool the scare factor of it was was lackey for me but it was it's like Rodney I walk in the park that one's right outside of the minions nor scary too much vanity ball was cool vanity ball was really cool so the premise here is that you're in in Hollywood and your flesh is the canvas and the artists are gonNA slice up yeah it's the fashion Joseph fashion show of ace is the the canvas and so they'll slice you up and and they may mess you up they may turn you into a whole nother version of a creature it they sculpt you into her doc good music it didn't have the music it had good it was good teaming good sides good fashion show music going on there and then Vikings on dead I this one didn't do this it's themed very well but not very scared. This was the passageway from La Bamba over word of the Animal Those cool vikings that are dead and they do after you do Viking things they do but Halloween horror nights it's awesome really yeah it is really good for me to you know and I again I was not my thing at all I love that thank so much so you have rides that are open we even do the rise because you're so busy doing other stuff now there was like a five minute wait for the mummy and he wouldn't let me do it not reading that right and they have a cool shortage of a cool shop to they do they have like a mummy yes it's like a throwback shop it's got four it's it's called something like that I can't remember the name of it but it's it's it's the throwback to previous Halloween horror nights and each room is themed so there's a strangers thing room that looks amazing and then they're strangers things merchandise and then you you go through like a passageway and you go into another room and then there's that merchandise from ghostbusters and it's the and then they have like a tribute store the tribe's store the throwback yes so the store and there there's a like places that you can take really good instagram photos in their social media photos there's lots of Gorgan slide lots of props and lots of things as you're going through the store that you can pose with for photos that's super cool so it's a neat experience just to go through the store I think it's a erode back I think it's current stuff it's true you're right yes they have the clowns and they have stranger things the monsters so I think it's all current and they have not only everywhere get scared and wet your pants you can also buy really cool merchandise super cool sharpton something for everyone everybody I I don't know I can't imagine anybody goes out of there and doesn't have a good time unless you the difficulty is if you get the regular ticket and you don't plan at right and you you might not see very many houses in on the night and you might be standing along lines that's the the rub now Roenick the the wait times that we saw when we were there a lot of them were double digit wait times which was as low as thirty minutes we didn't see anything lower than that and that was near the end of the night but it wasn't unusual to see or five or fifty five minutes on some of the house says which is which is good compared to last year they were terrible compared to last year when we went closer I guess I don't know why but was crazy it was a lot longer but I'm sure those times are going to go way up yeah yeah the closer we get to Halloween the longer those times are going to get is only the second day that they were open for Halloween horror nights so they will definitely go up in which case I don't think I would do Halloween horror nights without an express pass you don't necessarily have to do an rip tour but know that they have a private rip tour as well as a non-private it where you would share the tour guide with other people and save some money but you're still going to see all ten houses and all five scare zones so there are so many options this year you're you can get a pass for all of September and it's if you go twice you've covered your head so it's scary yes local you can buy a pass and more than once yeah or if you plan on going four five nights and you wanted to spend a few hours each night may be conquer two houses it out yeah you can spread it out you can do that yeah it's like being able to go to Mickey's not so scary multiple times and just hit the things you want org take advantage of the fact that no one's on the ride yeah that's true too I mean it's what two hundred dollars a person or two fifty or something it was very reasonable number somewhere for the whole for the whole month past the entire month yeah it was crazy yeah it's a it's a good deal if you can if you're going to be there more than two nights for more and you want to go in there it's deal so look into that ask well ask Sharpie and Lauren about it they'll tell you all about it they can look it up there are lots of different Pass options with Halloween horror nights now you weren't Lauren and you talk about Hey grids you wanna change the subject Lauren right no I am under the desk right now so good Lawrence he's just going to be on Rama we're done so good it's so much fun an ice I would never go why did Jesse had Jesse listened to the Halloween Horror podcast howling horror nights podcast but she would never go in person let me tell I wouldn't even listen to that I'm literally under the desk for this let me take ninety seconds to talk about academy villains altered states because this show was so phenomenal in my opinion the the show can lists of a lot of dancers and the dancers and their synchronicity and their their enthusiasm and their the they just hit every little move it was phenomenal America's got talent a couple years back so you might remember them from so good and then they have like three highlight acts one was like the the ropes that hang not ropes but the cloths or they call it yeah the guy that I I don't know yeah this is yes silks so-called but anyway that guy did his thing and it was really cool then it was another guy that did soccer like a soccer ball and he he did a dance with it it was not like rhythmic gymnastics but he could bounce it off of everywhere in catch it and toss it and he just manipulated that ball like nobody's business but then there was one guy and it was cool because we had the best seat in the House we're dead center as as close to the stages you can get in the center and they have a platform that they put into the audience where the the different performance come up so we ha we could see the pores on their face nearly six inches from them yeah so the last guy was a contortionist double joe he must have been quadrupled his eh that's the audience went nuts it was lauren you're freaked out you'd be hiding again audience went on I wonder if even made it to show you kidding I can't even get down the main street gone to the theater know what ever made it that far it's nice as a nice Halloween themes show with unique dancing and unique acts and high energy was kind of Dr Jekyll Mr Hyde type of thing where they larne would be in office I would be at the piano bar I was gonna ask Alcohol Lauren there's as much alcohol as you want in that place it's not enough alcohol in the world to get the do who so good nope they do such a good job is I cannot wait gets universal in the scary stuff I have heard it's amazing it is I've I've just no wish I could give you I know it's so good if anybody is like on the facts you gotta go it's so it's so amazing it's like my favorite thing now okay what my family my husband would love it and so is the best when you go with a group and someone in the group does not WanNa go go it's the best 'cause the the reactions of the people that are a hundred percent sure just make your night you just smile from ear to ear all night so good so anyways thank Lisa rich and myself I think we should go go you should go I will here's what how do you'll hang out with Stephen Jesse Jesse in all hang out the piano bar and I'll let you guys know how scary that was who so good or the chocolate emporium either way you could just ask them to play thriller at the Piano for that and that's the extent of the scary I can just about can handle I feel like there's a chance I wouldn't get out of there alive I think I'd have a heart attack handles all right real quick I'm gonNA run through slow things that are open you've got Harry Potter and the escape from green dots that's open revenge of the mummy Hollywood rip ride rocket men black alien attack those are going to be open the entire time then fast and furious supercharged that's going to be open then during the evenings event but it will close prior to the end of the event so it's open for part and then it closes same thing with transformers it it's open but it will close before the event is over and then or a select nights only you're going to have the simpsons ride open now you can do those as well the ride times are super short oh okay so we'll go and just keep writing the mummy he go or rip ride rocket nine different songs what about right so then you guys did the other ride which is interest let's talk I have still on Donovan I want to hear about it okay Lauren I've kind of been my reviews I'm GonNa let you take lead on this and tell us what you thought of Hagrid Okay Haggard says literally the best ride out there right now I'm good yeah that's the word three Lauren that's what everyone tells me now my expertise are so high and it is so good it's like it's Co story but it's it's different it's just so different and there's one part and and I wanNA ruin it for people but there's one part that you just don't see coming and when that happens you're like this is life changing wow am I said that one part like told me I don't WanNa ruin it for people to hold it so smooth it's exciting but it's not terrifying it's long it's just different and unique in it's got storyline and ano- yet universal using on it they literally did amazing on like you can't and I don't WanNa ruin it for people so I've heard that's the end of the review well so it's it's at universal good south the islands of adventure park so that's the other part for Halloween horror nights is not so you can't drive this during Halloween horror nights because it's at the other Universal Park which is Alan's of adventure and it's it's called something like hagrid magical motorbike adventure like on the bike a motorcycle the bike is better I was in the sidecar was finding sidecar I think they're going to be the same in excitement commerical it's where dueling dragons used to be but it's a whole new thing hell new ride yeah it's an Austrian so the wait time when we got there we got there right a park opening we went right to the ride and it said it was is an eighty minute wait and we waited forty five minutes that's pleasant it's fair yeah so it was not a bad way it was fast-moving they move it along I think they had the time just like the mouse does but you know it was it Lee I can't even it was the best ride I loved it I mean I truly loved I will do that I'm actually doing a day universal when I take my kids in December wash it opens too hot you gotta wait till cooled off now have the hot butter beer yeah that's amazing so many good things about universal makes me smile CBS good ice cream gosh loved the soft ice cream off their the sauce is in my opinion hats off to university so they knocked that one out of the park yes if you haven't done universal weakened book that for you to either all three of the parks they have a water park they call it their third park AH volcano bill and they've got a ticket special right now where if you yet a to park ticket you're GonNa get the third park for free so if you weren't is a -sarily interested in the water park you can get it for free try it out or cool off for a couple of hours and not worry about feeling like you paid a whole lot the money and it really wasn't Your Cup of tea and the resorts are nice they've really shorts are fantastic resort university and you can get you can walk you can take the Plus you can take the boat like we went to Halloween horror nights we took a bus there ain't chains in automotive so easy it's so compact it's not this whole exceeds direct it's awesome like I like word in the boat at night calm sometimes you get a crazy boat driver that puts on Ymca or something and get.

"Has a has echoes of the the the famous. Remus pageantry of a nighttime show around the holidays things to be found. But I will I will let it rest in peace. But the snow in laser show kinda. Something can has a feeling of that particular show. But of course, it's not quite as spectacular. But I don't think they'll have galaxy's edge decorations now. Know, I had that you don't think they'll decorate. That. That's that's a really good. That's a really good question is do. They celebrate Christmas on to. No doubt it, although they do Willis it make some money. Thinking. Star wars. Christmas ornaments right yet. Yeah. There's no doubt about that. You're on your Christmas. Tree bill. So that in the in the store on Hollywood Boulevard away, but they won't sell it in the land. My guess is the land will have only things that don't come in prepackaged or that are like, you know, that you're like you're walking through a marketplace. And. Rumor that you won't find anything in a package. So my guess is it's all authentic now was it enrolled of Harry Potter over at Universal Studios. Now, they started decorating, and they can get away, you know, because they they had that they have Christmas. And yet, I if it's in, and it's really cool to see how they they do that. Because it's what you know. And then they do the show's over there at night on the castle. So that's also fun. Well in a lot of those buildings are covered in the fake snow all year long. So it really ties in well. So it's really enhances the yeah. So that's fun to do the winter theme. But yeah, I don't know. It's probably the first land that they've opened up because Toy Story we saw you know last year for Christmas and had Christmas lights up. I know. So it was like they did a few little they did a few little extras over there. But they always have the Christmas lights up as part of the decor. The ham Christmas cookie that was really cute. So. Yeah. So if you're trying to think either of those parties are great mckee's. Not so scary Halloween party or the very merry Christmas party. I I enjoy both of them. Anything else on getting ready for your.

"The actual holiday. So we can help people plan their trip instead of about it as it's happening. So here we are. Well, and then. It's currently March. We're good way. Do you hear that? I hear sleigh bell. I know it's it's air sleep bills. But you know, what I stopped believing. Well, maybe it's boogie that you're hearing. Well, galaxies edge is opening and star at Walt Disney World, and it's what August twenty ninth. So if you're planning on going for that a lot of these fall, and they fall on fall fall. So that so hopefully, these will give you some other activities to do after you wait in line over it galaxy's edge for a day. Everybody needs something to do. Yes. It's also interesting. A lot of Universal Studios and Disney at Walt Disney World they've already announced their Halloween plans. So you can book we have a Universal Studios. Halloween horror nights vacation package is already been out for at least a month for I don't know if they're still discounting their early tickets, we do there were there was a discount. I don't know if it's still going on it might still be for Halloween horror nights Universal Studios Orlando because they're trying to get people to go early to yet book early. And that way, they know what to expect it just makes everyone happy. Disney has the dates out for Macy's nutso scary Halloween party that will get into later. You want to start it? You wanna go? Lisa. All right sharpie or Lauren you have last year's dates for food and wine. Oh what I write them last year. Sometimes if I can find them unprepared. Last year states for food and wine festival were August thirtieth to November twelfth. So I wouldn't -ticipant it to be somewhat around there. Mike assists are going to definitely coincide that with the opening of galaxies to try to push the crowds around a little bit just a aghast. But. Most of the things that I think they're going to do. They don't always do. So there's that. That would be my assumption. And if you haven't been or if you have been in wind cut his awesome. Well, used to be the way they got people to go to Disney during the fall because nobody would go now. Everybody already goes, nobody goes in the summer, but. You know, I love walking around the country is getting a little appetizer in each one. You have some good tips. I remember with if you're on the Disney dining plan. Lauren has the down low on out to use your snack credits. Save yourself some money or actually it's it's not credits an meal credits. Right. Yes. Yes. So the dining plan is fantastic. Actually, if you have food and wine festival going on while you're there because you can actually use snack credits as you can pay for one of your snack items through them, which they're normally over five dollars. So some of them are a little bit less. But for the most part they're over five dollars. So it's a great value for a snack credit because your snack credits are generally about a five dollar value. So you can go up in order a small piece of steak at the Canada pavilion with some potatoes. And that's one snack credit, and it's like a mini meal. You can also like let's say your family's walking up in you're doing around the world doing food wine around the world, and it's lunchtime. And you have a quick service that you wanna use. You can actually break one quick service into five snack credits. So let's say your family of three each one of you can get an item and us one quick service meal..
