Former Georgia Governor Zell Miller Took Leadership to the Next Level
"As we've talked about leadership on this podcast before and it's being who you are and it's taking that ownership. Zell Miller took that to a different extreme. He took ownership of what he did. He was forceful and had a work ethic that was unmatched many times in politics to get things done. And zell Miller at the end of the day will be remembered here in Georgia for the hope scholarship, which is gave well over a $1 billion to allow students to go to college. He's will be remembered for the pre-K program at universal pre-K program. There was one of the first of its kind back in the 1990s. Again, this money from the lottery. He was a man who brought the lottery to Georgia, which most people never thought would happen, said it would go for education, made it true, and it is still working today. So why would zell Miller a Democrat who had success as a Democrat, governor, two term governor in Georgia, had a success as a United States senator appointed by the next governor Roy Barnes to fill the seat of Paul coverdale. Why would he stand at this 2004 convention and go against his own party? Go against some of the things. And it's comes down to basically his upbringing for lack of a better term. And also his experience in the United States Marine Corps. Zell Miller was a marine till he died. And Marine Corps made the lasting impression upon him that he wrote down in a little book called core values. Corbett is everything you need to know. I learned in the marines. And I was going back through my bookshelf the other day and I was reading through this and I was looking at political courage and I was seeing Joe Biden and the Biden administration seemingly blaming everybody else in the world for all of their problems and everything going on. That this book just stuck

"united states marine corps" Discussed on Veteran on the Move
"For listeners who served in or work to the United States Marine Corps or have family or friends who might have, I want to notify you of an available resource. From 1953 to 1987, personnel assigned to Marine Corps base camp lejeune, were potentially exposed to contaminated drinking water. The Marine Corps has since partnered with health agencies to get scientific studies to assess impacts from these potential exposures, and they are working to keep those marines, their families, and civilian employees informed with updates and resources available to them. If you or someone you know may have been a campus junior during those years, please consider registering with the camp lejeune historic drinking water notification database. You can learn more and register at marines dot mill slash CL water. At CL as in Charlie, that's marines dot mill slash CL water. All right, back to it with army veteran Ben Burt with fiber new franchisee. So Ben, as you go through your vocational rehab or you're going to be retired from the army. Where did this entrepreneurial interest or this entrepreneurial street come from? I'd say primarily just I was at that point in my life where I was just tired of poor management. So.
Project Veritas Founder James O'Keefe on EcoHealth, DARPA and Fauci Lying Under Oath
"James, I want to ask you, you also exposed this story. I think last week, doctor Robert Malone and Naomi wolf say that this is bigger than The Pentagon papers. So it's potentially civilizational altering stuff. The story has multiple parts, one with darpa, and then one with potential suppression of early treatments. There's a mention of the trusted truth initiative. James, can you kind of update our audience on this story? So these were documents that, again, were transmitted to us from a source. I wonder if the FBI will raid me again that you're starting to certainly sense a pattern here. It's absurd. I won't tell you who the source is, but we received documents from inside the Department of Defense, specifically darpa, defense advanced research projects agency in Arlington, Virginia, which is a division of the Department of Defense, and these documents were authored by a major in the United States Marine Corps who was a fellow at darpa. So effectively they're sort of Pentagon papers that we've broken last week. And the documents state that eco health alliance, this group approached darpa in the Department of Defense for a gain of function research on COVID born coronaviruses in March of 2018. The Defense Department rejected this proposal on the grounds it was too risky. It was too dangerous. So our department defense thought, no, now that we can't proceed with this research for obvious reasons, it was lead to, I don't know, a pandemic or something. And then the Marine Corps major writes in this document, but Anthony Fauci, as head of naid, a proceeded with this research. So the Marine Corps statements, obviously a credible source here inside darpa, would seem to indicate that Doctor Fauci live under oath. Now Charlie, we break the documents and the very next morning Fauci is being questioned by senator Marshall and Fauci does address project veritas mentions us by name, authenticates the documents, but calls into question the credibility of this report and the Marine Corps guy who wrote it. And I believe Fauci is playing semantic games because obviously there were two separate proposals here. Fauci didn't see the precise identical proposal that eco health alliance approached darpa with, it was a different one, but fascinating stuff. And I think that there'll be more whistleblowers and documents coming out as a result of this exposure.
Jessie Jane Duff's Hardcore Response to the Concept of Women in Combat
"And we're back one on one with Jesse Jane Duff. Okay, we discussed it at the beginning of the show. Let's open it up a little bit further. The NDAA, the national defense authorization act the Republicans who are bending over backwards to facilitate the crazies in the Democrat party. Well, not crazy. The crazy Democrat party told us about this idea of the draft for women. And who's behind this insanity and give us your take justice? Well, you know, there is so much disarray with this current administration that I couldn't tell you the logic behind any of it. Other than they have been enabled by our enemies. I mean, I look at this as just watering down the capabilities of our United States military one drip at a time. And people, you know, I get on Twitter and I get these guys. I wanna say, well, you all wanted equality. And I'm like, stop it. Stop it. Don't sit here and argue with someone like me. I wasn't one of those lieutenants that went to go to the courts and protest ensues, so I could become a general one day. The odds of you becoming a general in the infantry are slim to almost zero. Number one, number two, what is your motivation for this? It's not going to impact combat readiness. On one level. So first of all, there was a study done by the United States Marine Corps when Obama had lifted the combat exemption for women. And I believe it was 2015. April 15th, I remember was tax day. And it went without nobody cried. Nobody cried. Civilian women didn't even care. And I'm sorry, civilian ladies, you never care till it impacts you. And the fact is, as they've taken it for granted that their daughters wouldn't get drafted, but I told that many radio shows and TV shows as soon as you put women in ground combat, how are you going to be able to say you can justifiably stop putting it having them in the draft? So here's the thing, the bulk of the women don't want to go in the infantry for a multitude of reasons. We have 45% less muscle mass 20% less won capacity. And I hear women in the army particularly want to get mad at me and say, oh, you're against women's rights. Say, you are not thinking this out. Even if a woman can get through the training, what are her odds of surviving hand to hand combat with the enemy? Because that's what Fallujah was. This is equivalent to putting a woman in a mixed martial arts cage with a man. You can not believe pounds or 80 pounds of equipment. And not only that, the enemy tends to fight on methamphetamines and other drugs. So that right there. Two. Even if you pass the training, your odds are you're going to be at the lower percentile of the men. Unless they've done so many accommodations, they've lowered the standard. You now have
Gunnery Sergeant Jessie Jane Duff Describes When She Knew She Was Different
"Welcome back to one on one with Marine Corps guttery sergeant Jesse Jane Duff. All right, so you joined the Marine Corps, Jesse James, you don't have driver's license. I want to give you MOS transport. They're going to be driving stuff. Big rigs. I got to ask you first because I'm just curious. What was your favorite thing to drive of all the rigs? Oh, they probably the Mac that when we at least a Mac truck at my commercial motor pole at camp Pendleton base motor transport. They at least a Mac at one time, and let me tell you there was nothing like it. It's like the Cadillac 20 feet up in the air. But I can tell you two of my favorite experiences. One was when I was driving. It was probably a flat nose white. I don't recall the tractor that I was in. And I was hauling heavy equipment to an Air Force Base outside of riverside, California to get offloaded onto a aircraft. And I have to drive through commercial streets, civilian streets, and I didn't have a concept of how I looked. I didn't realize I was pretty. I really didn't. I wasn't even allowed to date for goodness. Yes. Protective family. Straight into the moon. I mean, I knew I wasn't ugly, but I just did. So what happened? Well, so two things. Well, one. What are you wearing? Are you in common? Yeah, it's always in camouflage. So to experiences, being naive like that was very good for me because I was never arrogant or big headed, and I never thought I could. Manipulate people. No, I was always like, I got to prove myself. I got to work harder. Always. I was always like a maniac. So I'm driving this tractor trailer. Now remember looking at the roads and how the navigate the turn. This is a long trailer. And I look down and there's a civilian lady. She looks up at me. Her eyes pop out of her head. Her jaw drops, and then she gives me the biggest thumbs up, you would ever see. Like, she just thought that was so cool 'cause the side of the truck said the United States Marine Corps. I'm in camouflage. The second experience was offloading heavy equipment and, oh, no, to pick up equipment from an infantry unit in 29 palms. So I get out there, that's the desert. I have to back up into and I'm backing up into the dock to load up their hummers. They're humvees. And I jump out of the truck and the look on their faces was absolute shock. Now I'm a sergeant at this point. Marines are professionals. You hear all these horror stories from I'm sorry. In the Marine Corps, they see your rank, you don't hear a PEEP of disrespect. And I'm out of that truck and they'll look on their faces was seriously. She's gonna hold us out of here. You could just see it. And I said, all right, double dogs. I need to get you to drive up the hummers onto the trailer. And they're waiting for me to ask for help to chain it down. But we don't do that. When you're trained in the motor pool, you're taught how to chain down your gear. And again, I'm not thinking I'm a lady opened the door for me or help me. It was a different mindset. And then they stood there and watched me get the underneath those at the chains and then take the break apart, pull it in and clamp them all down all two or three hummers. And then I said, anybody want to ride back to camp Pendleton and that one of them had the balls to get on that truck. And I roll back to campell, guys, I'll see you there. And then they offloaded. But I would say those stood out to me because that's when I realized I was different.

DACOR - An Original Five
"When you own a dive shop people routinely either stop by or call us to see if we're interested in buying their old scuba gear or they have equipment that they used many years ago and went to try to get back into diving and wonder if we can service it. Well that's a whole different discussion than where i wanna go today. Many times the gear that they bring in is from decor one of the original five. Us manufacturers scuba diving equipment in the united states. We've already covered two of those five here on scuba shack radio voice and health ways and i'll get to the other to swim. Master stivers down the road today. We're going to talk about decor. The davidson corporation was founded in nineteen fifty three by samuel davidson junior. Sam took the da from davidson and decio are from corporation and put them together to form decor i read somewhere online at sam patented the name and even gave the patent number three dot one two eight four eight one. Why tried to find that specific patent and couldn't find that where he patented the name but that number came up with something called a safety float that was submitted by samuel davidson junior filed in nineteen sixty. One so interesting. So how did sam davidson get interested in scuba diving. Well sam richard klein who started health ways was also in the united states marine corps during world war two he was stationed on guam and it said that he had gotten hold of some japanese goggles and started to explore underwater after the war. His interest in exploring underwater continued back then. Getting reliable. scuba equipment wasn't easy. So sam hooked up with an old neighborhood friend named bob olsen and they decided to build their own double hose regulator well somewhere along the way a buyer from montgomery ward department store chain found out about the regulator and purchase ten later. They update to three hundred. Sam had a business. He borrowed ten thousand dollars from his mother and got rolling by nineteen fifty five decor was producing what they called their dial breath. Double hose regulator sam along with another engineer while he mitchell continue to work on regulator development along with other scuba diving equipment from my review of the old decor catalogs. It looks like they didn't introduce their first. Single hose regulator the decor dart until one thousand nine hundred sixty two although they had developed earlier some say four years before sports ways introduced. There's but as a as we've seen with health ways and dick anderson's work a lot of folks who are innovating at this time. One of the ways. I like to research. these early. Manufacturers is look at their old catalogues. The cg forty-five website has a lot of reference material. Along with these old catalogs the earliest decor catalog that i was able to review from thousand nine hundred sixty one. That was the same year that see honda ended. The catalog was a whopping four pages. Long it had there are three double hose. Dial breath regulator for eighty two dollars. They complete single tanks system for one hundred and forty four dollars and a double host set up for doubles. Set up for two hundred and twenty nine. You could pay an extra five dollars to get yellow tanks. The cadillac had one mask one snorkel and one set of things by nineteen sixty two their line expanded with the d one day corridor. Single hose regulator and a new are four dial breath double hose. Remember that patented safety float. Well it was in thousand nine hundred sixty two catalog over the next couple of years. They continue to innovate with the dart d. Two and a dart with ajay valve for three hundred psi reserve on the first stage they also had the clipper series double hose regulators c two and c three by nineteen seventy decor came out with yet another new regulator line the olympic series with the one hundred two hundred four hundred and eight hundred. The last catalog. I went through was from one thousand nine hundred eighty and decor was touting twenty-six years of diving innovation with a doubling of their space at northfield manufacturing headquarters and the installation of a hyperbaric chamber for regulator testing. Looks like nineteen eighty was the year. They introduced what they touted. As a revolutionary regulator their decor pacer regulators pacer is short for positive air controlled equalizing regulator claiming to have totally balanced first and second stages with a remarkable point zero five inches of water. Cracking pressure wow. That's pretty low. They say they harnessed venturi with something called. Ventura matic something really innovation at this. Time was there microsoft Circuit dive computer. It looks like it took up. Most of your forearm with indicators for deco cent rate depth time readouts and more. It was quite a marvel for the time. Sam davidson passed away in nineteen eighty seven and sam's wife. Joan became ceo by nine thousand nine hundred ninety eight. Joan sold decor tomorrow's an overtime the decor named faded into our diving history. I did see a short article in two thousand five edition of sport diver and it was from nari and they indicated that they could no longer get replacement parts for decor regulators because the parts suppliers had destroyed their mold before they can move all of that to the marez a facility in palo italy. So that's a little bit of the history of sam davison junior the davidson corporation and decor one of the five original scuba equipment manufacturers in the united states.

"So if you would like to be a part of it, join us on Facebook under the name Scholar on stone, and you will be connected to our study. Well, it's been quite a week, hasn't it? Ah, Lot has been happening. And even though our eyes have been on the undecided election, there's some things some important things that have been happening this week, and I want to share them with you. First this week on Tuesday, November 10th. The United States Marine Corps celebrated its 245th birthday. And we it s the West Want to celebrate and salute this remarkable branch of our military and to think anyone who has served or is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps. You are appreciated and honored, and I know that I speak for countless Americans who feel the same. Happy 245th birthday. Semper Fidelis, always faithful. It was another observance that occurred this week, which is in the same sphere as the Marine Corps birthday. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Of 1918 World War one ended 112 years ago this week. That day, November, 11th 1918 was called arm Assist Day, which marked the end of hostilities with Germany. 1954, However, in America, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day. And This is what we celebrate today. Europe, Of course, still observes Armistice Day for us in America this day is a day in which we recognize all who have served and who are currently serving in the armed forces. So this last Wednesday, November, 11th was veterans Day and scholar on Stone radio would like to honor and acknowledge anyone who is currently serving or who has ever served in any branch of our armed forces, whether it be the Navy The army, the Air Force, the Coast Guard, the Marine Corps and our future Space force. The debt that we owe Each of you is a debt we really can never repay. We thank you for making the decision to serve our country knowing There would be sacrifices on your part. We thank you for the sacrifices and pray for God's blessings on every one of you. Happy Veterans Day. Now this because more that we need to talk about there's more things that we have to observe. You see November 11th isn't just Armistice Day the day that marked the end of World War one. It isn't just veterans Day. This last week. On November 11th marked the 4/100 anniversary of the signing of the Mayflower Compact. Now you may be asking what is that? Let me tell you. It's simply the governing charter of the English colony that settled at Plymouth, Massachusetts. It's believed that John Carver, who helped organize the Mayflower voyage and became the colony's first governor, was the one who authored the compact. The contract was signed by 41 men, men who are free, including William Bradford, who would go on to be one of the colonies, Governors. So in honor of the 400 anniversary of this very important document, I would like to read it and it's actually quite short. Mayflower compact, written and signed on November 11th 16 20. Here's what it says. In the name of God. Our men. We whose names are underwritten the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James by the grace of God of Great Britain, France. In Ireland King Defender of the faith, etcetera, having undertaken for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith and honor of our king and country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern part of Virginia. Dubai. These presents saw me and mutually in presence of God and one another covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politick. For our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends of force said, and by virtue here of to enact, constitute and frame Such just an equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions and offices from time to time, as shall be thought, most meat and convenient. For the general good of the colony into which we promise all due submission and obedience in witness whereof we have here under subscribed our names at Cape Cod, the 11th of November in the year. The reign of our sovereign Lord King James of England, France and Ireland. The 18th and of Scotland, the 54th on Oh, Dominy 16 20. What I just read to you represents a covenant. What would become America's first covenant. Now our covenant is an agreement. That's what a covenant is An agreement between parties. This covenant was a voluntary and binding covenant, which recognized the principle of self government under God. And this compact was between a variety of people who were Christian and non Christian voluntarily coming together to vote on their own laws. In other words, Free people deciding for themselves who would be their leaders. The free people. These pilgrims came together as a body politick. They already had a church by law. A church document, but what was needed Was a civil by law, a civil document for the laws that would govern the society and this document would have far reaching religious legal economic implications that went far beyond. Provincetown Harbor. It would influence the ideas of the Declaration of Independence and eventually Lead to the holes of Philadelphia When in the 17 eighties, the Constitution was being written. What is important is that in 16 20. This was not usual. The idea of self government As you know, the idea of self rule wasn't imagined to 400 years ago. We take this fact for granted. Because today this is all we know. We have always been able to vote for our leaders. But back then it was entirely new. Unique in all of human history, and each of us have been the beneficiaries of that singular moment in history. For any who may be wondering why the pilgrims, these English Christians came to America in the first place. Let let me shed some light on that. As many of you already know. England has a church is called the Church of England and the Church of England today is also the mother Church of the Anglican Church. The Church of England was actually a break off from the Catholic Church, but retained various elements of the Catholic Church. This is why many refer to the Church of England as Catholic light it begin with Henry the eighth You see, he tried to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon and 15 34. But the pope Would let him do so. So what did Henry the eighth through? Will he did what most totalitarian monarchs do? He started his own church, a break off if you will, from the Catholic Church, and henceforth, the Church of England was born and this occurred in the 16th century. In this new church, the Church of England was still strong by the time of King James, the first in the early 17th century. And by the way, the name King James is the same as we see in many of our Bibles. Well, there was a group of Christians who believe that the Catholic influence of the Church of England was too much to take. It was believed that a pure approach to church could be had without the Catholic influence. And turns out there are many Christians in England who felt this way and so small Christian fellowships sprung up being pastored by men who didn't want to Catholic influence of the Church of England had And as time went by, this caught the attention of King James the first and response He began to persecute these Christians by funding them, putting them in jail and even starving them..

And we have to turn it around to make that for you Imagine putting the money that we put into the one of the clothes I think was, Ryan earlier said about our rotted infrastructure. Could you imagine if we put all that money into building America rather than building the military industrial complex? Oh, my God. Oh, and by the way, what wars of Americans want You know, it's it's World War two. There's a great job in Korea. Vietnam was a great success was still in Afghanistan our way. If you're walking around, hold on, If you're walking around in a parking lot, and they don't like the shoes you're wearing, they can kick you off their property. You know why? Because it's a private property. Okay, well, you just said it's public. It's not public property. It's private property that you don't know it, but she didn't Vega. Okay. Daniel Daniel, We're not talking about a Las Vegas public sidewalk we're talking about. You know exactly where talk Aboutthe sidewalk in the parking lot right outside the casino. And here's why let me explain why if they go to a rally, if they were the only ones to get sick and die, I really wouldn't care. But as you know, and I hope you do if they go to a rally, and they don't practice social distancing and they get the virus, asymptomatic or not. Taken. Give it to other people without without hold on without even knowing. So what you just said. It's on ly about themselves. Guess what? It's not only about themselves. If that was the case, they could all die. For all I care. They can give it to other people. OK, so how can you say it's their choice? You know what? My friend who contracted Corona and was asymptomatic. We hung out two weeks after he tested positive. Okay, So what if it is up to in individual? "The United States Marine Corps has a motto semper fidelis children often the semper fi always loyal always faithful doesn't know the version that we go by here it's America first in the Salem radio network and that Sam put Gumby always be flexible I kind of guests who can respond to anything but when you have a day like this day you've got to get specific and as we were brainstorming this morning with Mr G. my produce so we thought who is the best this is a on god's green earth to discuss the geo political tectonic events occurring in the Middle East today and I have to adopt my cat to Jeff he came out with that name I reached out and he said yes he is the former president of the NRA you've seen him for years on fox news he's a renowned all for a great patriot follow him but Oliver north dot com all of the L. north on Twitter he is the author of the newest book of the rifleman and he knows a thing or two about Persia colonel north welcome to America first well put book has typically naming the place as it really is Persia it's very interesting when you when you meet Iranians who are here who emigrated to the United States I don't know if you can count of this selves so often I also where you from because I can tell and they they never say Iran they always say the Middle East where if you push a male say Persia is not interesting true all true and in fact there may well be coming a return of the if you will the Persian country as we once knew it indeed so you with value in the cold to New York the cost of geo politics at the end of the Cold War you serve the great Ronald Reagan in the White House in the national security council a few people have already made comparisons to what Donald Trump is doing by tweeting in pharmacy to the people of purchase supporting them against that that the regime people making comparisons to Ronald Reagan's tear down this wall speech in nineteen eighty eighty seven at all we potentially witnessing as significant geostrategic events right now is is when you were in the White House colonel north I certainly see what president trump said at the beginning of all of this was very reaganesque very straight forward the objectives are very very clear and when the president was just a week ago we forget how quest quickly this all happened but he was very reaganesque in his reminder of what the objectives are here is very clear that the press is going nuts on this side and so on the left in the in the political hierarchy Washington at the Congress but very clear reaganesque objectives no nuclear weapons no ballistic missiles no terrorism and I would have included the hostages be reserved at least six of the being held that's a very clear warning don't kill Americans if if the run ignores that offer to open a dialogue without preconditions if the ignore the reality of where we are in present realities that they are ignoring is three full days of rage against the moles in the imam's holes right I mean that's that's very real I I said the other day and on Hannity and I said it in some of the other shows that I've done and fax over the last couple days is I didn't think we would bring down this government before the end of Mr trump's first term I think the the the reality is that they're taking a great risk the people that are in the streets clerics get lost is even al Jizerou is carrying that stuff this is a visual Sir off of Iranian students walking around our flag not to be walking on it as the regime the moms isn't that that's that's bravery is but it certainly is and and quite frankly they ought to be more terrified of that then what we could do in the aftermath of another attack on the Americans I have no doubt that if if there is another such attack he's going to carry out his warning and we can target their nuclear sites we can target target the oil facilities should only got three that matter we can we don't need to put a single Ehrman risk because we use stand off weapons like the tactical launched air missiles cruise missiles both see launched in their watched and we could we could shut the entire country down with cyber attacks I mean the reality of it is that they've got on their streets right now a clear objective on the part of the people we want the clerics out we want real governance we want an opportunity and that's exactly what president trump is offered you recognize the voice is colonel Oliver north follow him on Twitter all of a L. north got is a website Oliver north dot com he is the author of the new book the rifleman which we'll talk about in a moment in the last few minutes we have in this segment so let's talk about what happened in terms of the retaliated they the retaliation in recent days the mass of the correlation of forces between the United States and Iran so this president with quote exquisite intelligence provided to him about imminent attacks against all servicemen and women sent one hellfire missile attack against the codes commander who was responsible for the deaths of at least three at least six hundred and three US servicemen one missile one tango down one target taken down the response from Iran was seventeen missiles and no fatalities not even take casualties what does that say with regards to the the relative capabilities of the two nations well first of all I don't believe that they intended to miss right did miss not because the program goes ballistic missiles the way they did it because they're incompetent I mean the reality of it is in the pool for the incompetence by the way is the shoot down of radiance yeah exactly I mean it's it's a crisis of confidence C. that's going on the truly jet in the city of the moms running that place are now evident to everybody that's part of the reason why the people in the streets out there did you ever look at look at this is a wonderful opportunity and I just hope to god and man by the way because so money is no longer with us he's the one who put down the green revolution two thousand nine the guy was killed over seventeen under his countrymen in in these kinds of standoffs around the rest of the country does not in Tehran he's no longer with them the could force is a fraction of what it once was in terms of its capability in its its connection to the leadership he had a very special relationship this goes all the way back to his days of forming the goods force and becoming the preeminent dictator over the kinds of actions that the goods force would take with rage against Israel against anybody in the west and so they've lost that direct connection between Islamic revolutionary guard corps in the leadership in Tehran they they better be paying attention to Iran is all I can tell I think the mole is worried in Iran and that's a good thing but to have U. S. serving Congress women say that the take down the shoot down of a civilian jetliner is collateral damage from a decision taken the operation greenlit by our president is an outrage will to talk about that and much much more with our special guest Oliver north former president of the.
What exactly are 'war powers' and why is Congress voting on them?
"The United States moves with me to translate into action the United Nations call to arms against the aggressor American occupation troops in Japan are hurried to the defense of the Korean Republic combat units of the United States Marine Corps arrive in Vietnam joining other marines already there the peak in the pattern was Lyndon Johnson's Gulf of Tonkin resolution in nineteen sixty four that led to the escalation of the Vietnam War last year act of aggression directly around persons okay brings home to all of us in the United States once a restaurant of the peace and security in Southeast Asia nearly a decade later as that conflict had stretched into another president's second term Congress rallied to reassert its constitutional role good evening the Congress of the United States in a historic action today made effective a limitation on the powers of the president to make war in nineteen seventy three democratic majorities in both chambers past the war powers resolution requiring the president to notify Congress within forty eight hours when troops were sent into harm's way that legislation also required president to end any foreign military action after sixty days unless Congress had declared war or passed an authorization for the use of military force a phrase that's come to be known as in a U. M. F. since then however the law has fallen short of its author's intent in part because presidents found ways to work around it and also because Congress has shown itself willing to follow the president's lead in matters of foreign conflict there's a new war this morning in the Persian Gulf a rock turns to blood shed to settle its oil price dispute with quite a different level of difficulty arose after Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein invaded his neighbor country of Kuwait in nineteen ninety this is the seventh week of operation desert shield and now they're about a hundred fifty thousand American military in the region and the number is growing every day president George H. W. bush deployed hundreds of thousands of US troops to the Persian Gulf region before Congress had taken a vote to authorize I know what it's like to have fallen comrades and see young kids die in battle and it's only the president it should be asked to make the decision Congress did authorize that use of force by relatively narrow margins in January of nineteen ninety one and the first Persian Gulf War began just days later since then we have seen presidents outmaneuver Congress again and again president Bill Clinton in the Balkans and later president Obama battling ISIS in Iraq and Syria president George W. bush called for two authorizations for the use of military force the first just days after the terror attacks of September eleventh two thousand one I was immediately approved military action against terrorists wherever they might be and bush soon send forces to Afghanistan good afternoon on my orders the United States military has begun strikes against al Qaeda terrorist training camps and military installations of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan the following year Congress debated and approved another authorization this one focusing on a rock the debate was emotional but in the end the vote empowering President Bush to go to war with Iraq was larger than the vote eleven years ago authorizing his father to take on Saddam Hussein one or both of these measures has been cited to justify it literally thousands of drone strikes and other military actions against those the US has labeled terrorists ever since it appears the US military has launched a missile strike in a rock including the one that killed Iranian commander customs money this month a revered Ronnie in general and one of the country's most powerful military leaders is considered by the you asked to be a terrorist president trump has often describe bush's two thousand three invasion and occupation of Iraq as quote the worst single mistake on quote in the history of US foreign policy but President Bush can at least argue he submitted his request to Congress before his invasion of Iraq began trump has yet to seek congressional approval for any of his actions in the Middle East very very nearly three thousand additional American troops have been ordered to the Middle East tonight at midnight and in the latest instance in the did not even inform congressional leaders of his plans other than via Twitter he said some of his opponents among the leaders in Congress could not be trusted with the information in that atmosphere of mutual distrust it is hard to see how the founding fathers ideal of shared powers could succeed in war making or any other aspect of national

"They tend to go on a fairly is saying that we are not withdrawing from Iraq of course when the story broke from Reuters in the three o'clock hour eastern time I said you know what I'm I'm not doesn't seem a hundred percent right is the indication from the story is they were moving troops out we've apparently notified the Iraqis that there's going to be some troop movement but the Pentagon is saying that we are not withdrawing this after in sympathy with us taking out the terrorists all the money the idiots in the Iraqi parliament they they voted to you know kick us out of the country and was bottom line bottom bottom line is all on sewers given me social information literally is breaking as we're we're we're speaking here all right according to Barbara Starr over CNN where the like CNN or not Barbara Starr from the Pentagon reported perspective is pretty damn solid and non biased so I still hold on a minute so I I I did get a chance to monitor this as soon because I'm on the air so can you turn your microphone on through my executive producer Barbara Starr apparently just reported on the letter from a guy coming when you know so all right I don't have a lot to add barber stars at the Pentagon telling wolf Blitzer the general market Millie who of course is a four star compared to this one star brigadier general who wrote the letter Lee is saying of the letter was a mistake it was a mistake to get into that kind of specificity and there is no withdrawal plan and of course we're talking about the letter from the United States Marine Corps brigadier general William H. silly the third he's the commanding general of the task force in Iraq so when this story first broke in the three o'clock hour what did I immediately say about this Reuters report it seemed a little funky I said that I said I said I'm not a hundred percent buying this is something that you have does get any walk back here and what has happened does that sound like the Pentagon is walking back this report they're running it back not walking it back Hey what folks just kind of follow me follow my lead on on a lot of

"The United States Marine Corps and then after nine eleven dated tours of duty with the United States Army both in Afghanistan and Iraq meets the lead story today's the president did appear first of a sitting president to the veterans day annual parade in New York he was met by cheers and boos you think today was an appropriate day to idea disagreements with the president and his policies not at all I really think I mean the reason he's here is to honor the veterans I mean just I've always said under the office and as a matter who's sitting in the seat you know and I think it's very inappropriate for people to blue the president specially the reason why he's here I mean it doesn't matter who the president is as far as I'm concerned and I would love to been there to listen to him speak and now it's he was there for very good reason so well in fact the only president ever to take the time to be there and we've supported the parade previously when they didn't have enough money to continue he actually came to the rescue with two hundred thousand dollars years ago but the bigger question for the president and he's wondering jets had Juliet about John Bolton apparently John Bolton would say copious note taker yes that's gonna be a big problem potentially for the president but John Bolton may be playing all of us whether it's Donald Trump whether it's the citizens whether would ship who will now be shifting into public hearings as of Wednesday because we've also learned he's gotten two million dollars for his memoirs I find that so strange though because he was subpoenaed and he didn't want to testify so he's going to write a book I mean I just it to me it's if you're going to spill all the dirt on the president which is is what it sounds like he's going to do then why would you not testify why would you not go and do it there the only answer that I have is that you're trying to be greedy and trying to get that those book sales well the the attorney has said Hey even though we turn down your invitation last week to appear behold before behind closed doors we've got a wealth of information about what transpired in the west wing of the west of the White House I'm saying to myself no wait a second AT cooperating with court right exactly that just seems to really be a lawyer promoting the book project of which let's face it the lawyer is going to get a piece of the action because he probably negotiate well I'm wondering if that is going to have any bearing on the judge who is sort of looking over this whole situation to find out if they can actually if you if this person can actually decide who can claim immunity and who cannot and you can testify and who cannot so that's gonna be interesting because if he if if his lawyer if Boltons on lawyers saying we've got dirt and we're going to spill it it's just going to be in a book that once it comes out before the election I might add on we're gonna make lots of money on this book now we won't make a lot of money on this book if we let it come out after we've already given all of the information so this is many takes the fifth and then we got to wait till the book comes out that's just the same for the cakes Nikki Haley has a book out Donald Trump junior has a book out anonymous has a book out it seems like the only way you get to talk to these people nowadays it's the interview them when the book comes out and Nikki Haley had a hell of a lot to say over the weekend in promoting her new book and basically really pointed the finger at to listen the former secretary of state the first one for Donald Trump and his chief of staff Kelly who replacements out previous she was not at all complimentary of both those guys basically saying that he invited her to join a cult bottle to confront the president and to get others involved in well I guess you could either come to a conclusion like Michael Mann would that it's a cool day TA cycling cool or just an insurrection in the ranks because Mister president you are venturing into very very dangerous waters well again it's it's on the lines of this anonymous writer if you are so concerned if you truly think the president is a danger to this country into the world why are you why are you not coming out and and waving red flags to everybody why are you in the back in the background poking around in that that to me look again I'm not a fan of trump I don't support him but I do think that it is against the constitution to do all sorts of nefarious little things behind the scenes if you're working for the president that's just not that's not what our country was founded upon but will continue on this is veterans day in studio Mitch we sue is Serra for both the United States Army and for the United States marine corps of both before nine eleven and after nine eleven and he gave his his idea of what it's like in Afghanistan and to a degree Iraq so many years after obviously we're going to get into Nikki Haley and what she had to say and will continue to speak with Mitch but first let's get our news headlines and updates and James I have dot com studios information you can use you frost I just couldn't get in the gross helps eight needs today. Everybody everybody gets real excited when I say Berry Gordy but he wasn't as well known at that time but smokey actually knew who he was because smokey you look at the hit parade magazine that was out in that magazine actually had Lee had the lyrics listed of the song as well as the song writer or writers and he has seen Mr Gordie's name down there so he was oh boy. You know I'm getting opportunity to see this famous guy well. Ah Recently Robinson was in Austin Texas to participate in the summit on race in America and the opening of the Grammy Museum's new exhibit motown the sound L. of young America Roberson said down with them Black America for this exclusive interview born in New Orleans. You all moved to Detroit. Actually I moved to Detroit. When I was eight years old? I was living with my grandmother at the time and she passed away and my mom came for me because I was actually living doing with my grandmother at the time and we moved to Detroit on the west side of Detroit us now going back in the day in Detroit. Well you know when your kid everything is wonderful and amazing first of all I saw snow for the first time and it was a lot of fun you know because now I was with my brother I had two older step sisters and my stepsisters would take me like like to the Tigers Games 'cause one. She was just so fascinated and excited until she took me with her. All the time. I think that was one of the ways that she could get out because I don't think she was supposed to be dating so she took me as the excuse you know put the miracles together well. The miracles came together or my brother had a group which consisted of smokey Bobby Ronnie and Pete and the guys had a group firstly we the chimes chimes five times and they became the matadors will when my brother was a matador I actually formed a group of five girls and that group was matador aretz prior to that when my brother was an orchid I had a group called the orchestra so whatever you did I kinda followed his is legal. My brother decided nothing was happening with the show business stuff so he decided to join the army as a result the guys used to always practice in in our basement to rehearse in all of that so I heard all the songs and after my brother was gone a great audition came an opportunity for an audition in came about and it was absolutely fascinating you know and that maybe you get an opportunity to be able to record and as a result smokey asked me would I go to the audition with them as their fifth member and I said yes and that the idea and when we got there and rehearsed the gentleman that was auditioning us. I'm sorry I don't like I don't really like the group he didn't see say it just like that but it meant that what he wanted actually at that time he wanted smokey and I'd be like a dual and the duo would have been just he and I see and forgetting the guys Mickey and Sylvia were real popular at the time and so therefore that's what they wanted that's so he wanted will of course we weren't GonNa leave the guys of course I was knew I wasn't really a part of their group yet and we we just kind of you know the guys especially. We're so so very very disappointed because they thought this was their one opportunity. They're going to get a recording contract. Well there was a gentleman walking around and that gentleman said do you have any more of those songs and smokey spoke up and he said yes he said how many said one hundred rid so we said well. Can I hear some of those so when the piano and we started singing and performing not very much performing mainly he just singing and re. I'm laughing because I actually was in my United States. Marine Corps a uniform. I was in the reserves reserves and I was you know it was that time of the day so it was coming from our basic practice and went to the audition and you know after all that happened and then this gentleman asking us to sing he listened very very patiently very repatirated. Every song has to have a beginning a middle and end so that you know how to write property can't be all over over the place and because we went to the audition singing five original songs and after that occurred you know when we saying the gentleman introduces himself and he said my name is Berry Gordy today. Everybody gets real excited when I say AH Berry Gordy but he wasn't as well known at that time but smoke he actually knew who he was because smoking you look at the hit parade magazine Zine that was out in that magazine actually had had the lyrics listed of the song as well as the song writer or writers and and he has seen Mr Gordie's name down there so he was like Oh boy you know I'm getting an opportunity to see this famous guy I must i I had never heard of Mr. I guess really sheltered or something and I thought who is because smokey was so excited excited. He was like Oh so at the end of that. Mister Gordy said he'd like to work with us so I was you know I'm new to the group so I I don't know include me or not and as as we kept talking to him then I found out later more about him and and his family is family was really well recognized around Detroit. You know they had so many entrepreneurship businesses. They had a a printing company. They had a record company. They had yes. They have construction. They also so had Mrs Gordy senior was well into the insurance business so they were really really entrepreneurs long before leaving her. Yes yes and there were eight children. Mr Gordon being a child number seven which always that's that's a pretty lucky number so we started working with him. Of course this year is that particular year was nineteen fifty seven so Mr Gordon was saying that we needed record so our first record that was released was February nineteenth nineteen fifty eight which coincidentally is bobby and smokey's birthdays and you know same same day same year same everything same hospital as well as they actually found out later an hour apart and they met fourteen years later uh well as story went on this is now nineteen fifty eight but there is no motown yet that had not occurred and and when we see that magnificent wonderful royalty check three dollars a nineteenth since it was like Oh my God you know. Is this this this what happens with showbusiness how you ever GonNa make are you going to ever have a home or an apartment or any of the above and smokey suggested to Mr Gordy that you know maybe you should have your own record company because we certainly could not do any worse yeah and that was kind of like the start a we had had prior to that a two record deal with the record label which was our I song gotTa Job can then after that we had a two record deal with chess records of and the thing is I don't recall with the royalty check was from wound gigantic. No no it was never gigantic. Unfortunately well well as as time you know went by motown itself which is now sixty years was started January twelfth nineteen nineteen fifty nine and would made that something remarkable as far as having a company Mr Gordon Gordon what had not only have thought that we should definitely have our own record our own whatever and and so the song for that became we recorded Chaperon my mother call she said Eh on you growing up now pretty soon new take awry and then she said
