Alto high school okay This is september. So you're just starting your your junior year sat right. Yeah right okay. How did you get interested in lighthouses. So when i was about four or five. I'm not sure the exact age. It's been while but i got excited about like seeing lighthouses on the television and my dad got me a book. A picture book of lighthouses and overtime. That became my favorite book. I think i still haven't agreed it's called. It's called american lighthouses. And my parents had always been very interested in history and architecture geography. And i think that kind of bolster my interest in lighthouses and i remember asking my parents if we could go visit. Actually the point pinos lighthouse in pacific grove california. So that's about two hours away from where we live. I was about six years old. And i'll never forget like as we drove closer and closer. I remember my heart was being faster and faster in anticipation and remember my dad lifting me up by my shoulder so i could get a closer look at the lighthouses and like exclaiming that that was the lighthouse and i was just over the moon and really ecstatic about it so i i was just super excited and that was also where i got my first lighthouse passport which is now pretty tattered. But i've had it ever since whether greet memory to have and will you mentioned point peanuts any other particular lighthouse visits the standout for you. Obviously i live in the bay area. So i live very close to pigeon point and i visited that house numerous times but as far as really memorable specific stories. There's a couple that spring to mind. I remember With my dad. I got the chance to visit this. Lighthouse called punta gorda lighthouse in northern california on the lost coast. And it's a very remote setting. It's an area where essentially like the coastal highway highway one very famous was rerouted in lens to there's no coastal highway in. It's even today. it's incredibly remote. It's an incredibly remote region. And so i remember we got up incredibly early at like four forty five. Am or something because the tides you have to walk like a couple of miles and you have to make sure that you're not gonna get washed out so you have to leave very particular time and the route is incredibly beautiful and not only the coastal road but the actual hike itself is very beautiful. But it's actually quite strained whispers like a lot of sand dunes than But that was a really memorable experience and How long hike was i believe. It was about tuna half miles each way but it was very strenuous. 'cause you have these like massive sand dunes and that kind of makes it difficult to wouldn't you find when you got there.
