"under" Discussed on Under the Influence

"Last summer I took my kid's faces off of the Instagram. I just wiped it clean. And I've never felt better. Hey guys, we just finished up getting ready. Actually it's been like 30 minutes, but I figured why not just pull the camera out and show you. Sometimes I'll throw in like one or two hashtags that have maybe it was reporting the first season of the podcast under the influence that convinced me to do it. That convinced me that Instagram wasn't exactly the best place for my kids faces. When I started digging into the world of influencers on social media, I thought this podcast would be an expose. I thought I'd be showing the dark and dirty secrets behind these women's perfect looking lives with their white houses and white sheets and clean children. But what I learned is that this world is so much more nuanced than that. Last season, I found women who support their entire families. Through influencing. I learned about their relationship of social media companies to creators. I found online hate and nastiness, but I also found community and wonder. So now with a clear grasp on this world, we are going down a new rabbit hole. One that is actually about the state of womanhood itself. Because what I've learned is that what happens on Instagram is just a reflection of the terrible ways that women are treated in the world. Welcome to season two of under the influence. This season we're going beyond just moms. We're going to answer questions like why do teachers need to make extra money as influencers? It went from like my side hustle to really my main source of income. I can work in whatever district I want whatever school I want. It's not about the paycheck. I want to find the right fit for me and it takes off a lot of that stress and pressure. Why are women turning to Instagram for advice on things like mental health and infertility? And what's the risk in relying on influencers for advice on his intimate topics? If there's a tightrope of 50% good, 50% can do public harm. I feel like mental health influencers kind of thread that line and lean towards the harm side. We're also going to continue reporting on the very real dangers of putting your children's faces on the Internet. My 13 year old comes in my room, she comes in with her Instagram and had it pulled up of another account that was mimicking me. It was 6 or so photos of mine. And instantly, my heart sank, and I started going through it and flipping through it. And discovered that it was this thing called role play that I had no idea existed. And that's not it. Far from it. We're going to talk about dad influencers and why they get treated so differently from mom influencers and we're going to be talking to a lot of the people who are working to advocate for the women on the Internet. And just maybe. Maybe we're going to do a little bit of advocating of our own. For the women who make content and for the women who consume it. We have so much power and we don't even realize it. And that's why we might just have a plan to try to shut it all the hell down. I'm Joe Piazza in your under the influence..

"Yeah i don't need to know. But but then people started buying in shorter. That became problematic for us. Legs right no for sure. Hundred big blinds. That it's like oops. I have to ask the surf holding people up now. Okay we're gonna. We're gonna wrap this up pretty quick. But i do want to kind of go into this quickly like the newer evolution again. I want to get you back on the show. Because i feel like you have so much off. Whatever man cool so you mentioned two thousand seventeen you get this fucking awful year and you haven't really been able to shake it like you tilt more and everything and i know you you drop down and steaks and you're kinda like okay. I've gotta build myself back up. What is that been like. I know you touched on it for a moment during the livestream but i think a lot of our viewers here and a lot of our listeners. Here who didn't get it. How hard is that. Because i know i know you played like five ten. Twenty twenty up to eighty. I mean you were playing enormous games. What's the biggest game. You played I think probably one hundred two hundred with a or or maybe is highest three hundred six hundred. And how much money did you having a table on your biggest stack. Whatever it was my pocket. I think i think if i had like i don't know if they had a recanati but i've come close okay and now and then you kind of went back and suddenly you're playing like fucking what five how did you. How did that happen without your mind. I mean i. I would think that alone would have forced ninety eight percent of professional poker players to find a different career and be like fuck this. I can't. I can't go back and play again. I just can't do it. Well i've every played it. That's the i'd just skipped that level. The moment the moment..

"It's all right. it's already correct. Yeah but why does it. Why do you see the same people son run and you know their sunning and then they son run and you see the same unlucky person get unlucky. What is that just a biased rate eighties. I do think it's a bias. But i think that's kind of what i was getting at. I think that when we are constantly flush draw our opponents plus draws constantly getting there. The guy we're playing against garrett is fucking son running and you're like jesus guy never gets every set right. And i can't imagine that that you know when you're thinking even though you're rationally looking at your spreadsheet going. Yeah i'm good. But i don't trust i trust myself. I don't trust the deck anymore. And i can't help but think that part of that is bullshit and i don't mean to call you out on that but i mean part of me just thinks to myself going. If you're not trusting the deck. Then how does that not seep into your own confidence and the ability to kind of trust your own instincts to know. I think i think it does. It does hinder your ability. I know it does for me. There are times when. I'm playing when i am winning and i'm playing great. You know i. I'm like you know i'm just check raising in the right spots. I i make these kind of crazy plays and they always work and then suddenly when when when i don't trust the deck anymore. I find myself being like okay. Let me just pull back a little bit here. Maybe i should tighten up a little bit. Maybe i don't make that play. Maybe i don't make the hero call whatever it is gate. will you. second guess and that's almost always wrong in poker. That's why i don't understand people taking for so long. Your first inclination is almost always right at least in my experience but yeah When things are going poorly you don't hold the trigger in spots and you over. Think things Make horrendous calls. You justify well maybe this is just bullshit so that is true but your first instinct. The reads are still there. You just don't go with own. Yeah as much. i guess. That's what i was getting at and for somebody like you less soda meat for me but i'm definitely. I'm definitely more in your camp of a player than i am like. Gto solver based type thing. I would imagine for a player like you. That is really detrimental..

"A really good price. You opponent doesn't have to be bluffing very often. In fact if. I'm over folding. In that case my opponent can just bluff with with impunity right. You have to actually call some of the time so there are certain situations and you know all hands are not created equal. There are situations where. I will call a worse hand. Because i don't block the bluff cards that i want my opponent to have and there are times where i will fold better hands because i have some of the cards that i want them to have right. If let's say there's a straight drought there. And i think my opponent might have queen jack but i have pocket jacks right. And there's you know there's an out there whatever it might be or a king or something like that. If i want my opponent to have queen jack and i have two jacks. i'm like okay. That eliminates right. I'm blocking some of the bluffs. My opponent might have and it's making it more likely. My opponent actually has the value hands and behind. But i don't block that queen jack in that example right and i have bottom pair and i'm blocking nothing so like in garrett's case he didn't have hearts right. He didn't have a queen. He didn't have a jack so you know he doesn't have any of the cards that he wants his opponent to have and he made a great call. You give him credit for that anyway. I thought that was pretty interesting. The session was good. Anybody who's saying poker's dead is. I'm like what watch hostile casino alive. I know that's not entirely real but i jumped in this five five game and there was one like one pro in the game. It seemed like one rag. I don't know how good he was. I only played for my my sample size with him was not long enough. He's seen pretty tight but then there was just some terrible players in their same. As i remember five.

"Hurry like I'm really just looking forward to. Doing that and I think i. Wouldn't surprise me at all if this is a year where it works well to be a bit more like exploratory and enjoy that and Especially, if there's some some new thing that you think is really cool and interesting like go forward if if you're if you're excited about it like it's a great time to. Dive into that nine mean I do hope that like it. There is also something I will say that it's kind of slightly comforting to me about the thought of a WC keynote that like that has been such a fixture in my life for so long that the kind of there is something. Like Ivan like about it that it makes me hopeful that will be inexperienced and I'll I I know what to expect and I know what comes next, and hopefully the sort of like we're getting into a more stable place, and that like will be a great opportunity to hopefully kind of this media reset. And kind of re decide what I wanted to work on the rest of the year and just see where it goes. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it as well for all the same reasons, because as you said like this is like the the fun part of development so often. Is that new stuff new projects? Go to X. Code, file new project and try something. Totally new and Beta season is a is an especially fun time to do that, so I'm looking forward to that to the the escape that will provide an end to the the little opportunities for satisfaction that we've had afterwards. So hopefully. Goodyear our next shelby after the keynote, so we will know a lot more better and we'll do it about that, so we will talk to you then and have a wonderful two weeks. Everyone thanks for listening. Thank you bye..

"Twenty twenty four that twenty dollars credit our thanks to the node for their support of this show and all of really FM. One thing that I I was I've been helped by a lot during this time is that? Like as developers we know that. There's some work that's not very fun to do that. We have to do like fixing some kind of of deep crash. In something that affects one percent of people like that's. That's not fun or like. Some new apple technology that you kind of have to, but you haven't been looking forward to like. They deprecated this entire old API. I'd have to replace it with this new thing like there's certain kind of just like grunt work involved here. There's also fun stuff like everyone loves. Starting a new project like new new stuff is always fun. People love starting new projects. I can yeah, absolutely confirm this. New Project new features new APPs new little fun stuff. That's more like that's like the ice cream of development. Everyone loves that part. Let's starting. The new stuff is great. You know grinding away at maintenance. Our old stuff is is less fun, and so you mentioned before like trying to figure out what you WANNA do during this time. One thing that helped me a lot is I wrote the entire ATP. Time and it's been a large project. It's still ongoing and building the membership stuff now, but like it's still ongoing and like. Starting a new project, even though I've also doing overcast work at the same time, but a lot less of it I've been focusing much more on the ATP stuff for for now because I needed something to get me out of the. UNPRACTICED funk that I was in for a month or more being in the Corinthian as I said, and I knew that like okay, just working on a bug. Fix version of overcast going to do that. And working on a brand new, totally different kind of project that was a lot of fun, and it's smaller scope easier in a lot of ways. That really got me going again and. I wouldn't say I'm like a great state of mind in the middle of all this, but my state of mind was dramatically improved. Once I got going on that project. Once I broke the funk I broke the like inactive depression period and I shoved myself into this project. That made me very happy. You know and it's. An exercise you know you mentioned exercise I'm going to go, and I'm sure we're GONNA. Talk more about it in second but like. One of the reasons why you know you want to exercise that. You feel good after you do it. For me I also feel it same. The same kind of satisfaction when I've exercised my brain and for a month I didn't do that and so once I started exercising my brain again by having like these solid coating productivity days. I felt significantly improved on those days, and so I've tried to keep that going as much as I could. Because again you know times like this. Take whatever you can get. And I think favorite projects are doing. That work that you in..

"Like I think in five years from now. No one's GONNA be looking back at the time and saying. Wow, I really wish. I added two more features during the quarantine. Yeah, it's I feel like so much these it makes me think of one of the the best key analogies I ever have. The algae that I find useful for myself in terms of understanding a my. Like I. Don't know Mike My Capacity for doing things. is to think of like. My like my life is like this I have a box and I can choose which things I put into that, and it's like I can put in sleep and I can put an exercise and I can put an eating I. Put in relationships I put in work. I can put in all of the various homework. Whatever those things are that I need to do. But the bulk the like the size of the box is is sort of outside of my control. That the you know the in many ways like if situations like this, where like suddenly, I feel like the box got smaller, and it got smaller because of the like emotional strain and the uncertainty and the difficulty that sort of surrounds what we're doing, and it's like at a certain point. You have to decide what what are you? What are you going to take out? What are you going to not use said what are you gonNA take out of the box because the ox small like it can't hold as much as it used to. And it's a bet that that calculus is really complicated, but it's like it's one of those things there is no. Way To change that like you can't just like. Sit like the whole thing of Oh i. wish I had twenty five hours a day. It's like you can't like they're. Of trying to. Fake it by working hikes like. Extra. All you're doing. Is You're taking? You're taking away from sleep probably or you're taking away from relationships, or you're taking away from something else like ultimately, everything has to balance out and I think it's it's certainly is. Everyone's situation is different and I think it is certainly one of the great things that I'm very appreciative of the kind of the a typical sort of software development life cycle is such that it is one that has a lot of slack in it that it is a situation where. If I need to take out several units of software development, so that I can make sure that I don't have to take out any of my. Assist of sleeper wellbeing relationships or connection can leave all those in the box, and it can take out some work right now like that is a tremendous lead like fortunate place to be and devastated. That's dependent on the kind of work. We even if you are an independent developer, if you're doing a lot of consulting work or something like that, where even if it's even the most specific cases, if it's like hourly consulting that there's like a very fixed number of hours that you need to be sitting down working on a project like maybe you don't have that flexibility to be able to do that, but. There's a certainly is important to understand that. Ever all of these things are going to be this necessary tradeoff that like whatever you know you you have to decide. What are the things that you're going to allow? You're going to choose to put into the box and understand that when things are are are all turned upside down like that. Calculus and that choice is going to be harder. And unfortunately, most of the things that you can do to kind of if you want to try and keep your productivity normal in an UN normal time..

"And our ability to continue doing our jobs in the midst of things that. Make that really difficult. Yeah, because. Ultimately, you know as as Davis up like this has been a really messed up year so far and the the major factors basically being covid nineteen and the black lives matter protest against plurality like that. That's not likely to go away quickly like the problems aren't just going to be solved tomorrow and we'll. Everything will go back to quote normal. That's not going. Going to happen and any return to something closer to normal is gonNA. Just take time. It's going to be a gradual process, and it's already been months we. We talked about doing this episode months ago. We having other things to talk about, but like it's already been months that we've been quarantined and going through the Covid, nineteen pandemic, and all those things so like. This is. Not. Normal, time that. I personally I know a and many people out there have had trouble I personally have had a lot of trouble getting any work whatsoever. And I think that's okay. You. Know as like when we first started out with the quarantine. Certainly one of the fastest issues we had to face was what do we do about school? You know we. We both have children. You had a different situation than I do. My situation was you know my kid went to a public school? He goes regular regular school and. School was closed and so everyone start started doing basically like web remote teaching Web learning, so he has to do video chats and fill out worksheets and everything, and that's been difficult for everyone for the teachers for the students for the parents because nobody was prepared for that. It's hugely different shifted how things have to work? Everybody has to do things that haven't done before in ways. They haven't done before, and it's. It was extremely disruptive. and. The question certainly arose of like. What should how much work children doing during this time? Like how? How much did you try to stick with school and? For some people. You know school is what makes their kids feel normal, and so they tried to do as a structured of a day as possible for their kids, and for other people, their kids don't thrive in in a school, environment and schools stressful and moving it to home, and try to reproduce as much as possible at home was a source of stress for people, not a source of normalcy instructor, and so you had to kind of make a judgment. Call based on who you knew your kid be of like. Do we make them work a lot or do? We make them work just what they need to do? Bare minimum and let them kind of chill for the rest of the time. And I think back like nobody. Nobody looks back on. Periods of disasters or tragedies or wars and things like that..

"Good. Show if you if you like the shield you like that yet what I wanted to throw a real quick is Fargo Dow Continuing Seasons. Their season set stories. And I can't third season's a little weak but decides that that show every one has been kick ass and I will say I recently read that they are bringing it back for season four yet Chris. Rock Senate four. Let's let's see that goes I wanted to mention a couple of shows on prime That I've seen and and there's a couple that you may be here with a couple that you may not be familiar with there is of course the Marvelous Mazel. This show as much enjoyed that. I'm not a big fan of Gilmore girls but the show runner for Gilmore Girls Creator went on to do a series about a woman in the nineteen sixties is trying to break into Stan. Stand up and befriends Lenny Bruce and Very witty very snappy dialogue Fleabag is another series that is fantastic humour stuff and dark. It is so fucking dark and it's about a woman that's you know. Basically like a sex addict and her going through that while trying to get our shit together and doesn't and it's fantastic but another series only one season so far. That is a series. That's wrote a scoped where they do. Animation over life filming. And it's got a Bob Odenkirk. Isn't it as the father called Undone And if you aren't familiar is about a woman who whose family has a history of schizophrenia? And she starts being like undone from the time stream where she can like time travel but she's not sure if it's real or not and she's trying to prevent the death of her father that happened years before and she's not sure she can or not or if it's schizophrenia. And her family is getting worried about her and it goes like. It's super head trippy. It's incredibly well written. Well acted gorgeous with the animation over the live action stuff. It's incredibly worth a watch. And it's maybe ten episodes so it's a day bench and you get it done night Mannheim Kassel. Yeah it's a great fucking series Am. I was about to say that as well who those who don't know about it it's basically what if Nazi Germany had won the war and now pretty much the entire eastern party United States is communism is it's not Germany and they kind of gave as a consolation prize to Japan. The basically the west coast just who were coast like you know all we up And it's the Communist states of Japan or whatever but basically Americans Co America's now a communist country folk that that she got me in the first couple episodes because that is horrifying okay. "This down for taste of me on this beverage tastes like chicken fried chicken right now. Yes you're taught to me. I don't want to comment on that so I'll be with you through where he loves it myself in an deeply upsetting. 's Amy Bogarde. We're quarantining together and so we needed to get some bulk purchase items for our Corentin booze when there's not a whole lot to do you tend to drink a little bit more. This is kind of part of the deal especially when getting up to telecommute. It's about a fourteen second commute from my bed to the laptop in the living room so so when five thirty hits and the day is over You WanNa get some drinking you and thanks to my mom who sent a care package of bizarre stuff gluten-free crackers Turkey jerky two different types of meal. But they came on separate days and separate packages so we now have a sweet tea. Mio and a lemonade me. Oh sweet so. This is a vodka dude. That's lemonade para with a regular lemonade with with a spritz of the sweet tea mio in there to make like an arm Arnold Palmer Spritz Spritz a bash if you are are you holding your pink he out when you drink that thing man. They down Pinky. Because it's like aristocrat vodka doesn't count. I look around and make sure the bottle wasn't showing because that's exactly what was left over from the cabin weekend. That's why I know what it is. Oh that's bottles long gone. We're on a bottle in between and now we're on the other bottles cheap all the time there are cheap there are better cheap vodka's other than a risk red hot but okay well. Just say yeah. I'd say a grateful was to be able to do that before. All this shit went down literally like no shit right guys. I know not everyone on this panel was part of it but three of them were and it was like thank fucking God. Yeah we got to like. Do release that. Yeah cabinet weekend away. Went to Hell. That was definitely very fortunate that we were able to break away for pretty much the last weekend before shit hit the fan and literally the last weekend. Yeah we should be grateful that we are. We're stuck in the house. Where at least stuck in house with somebody like people were used to in our family or somebody we love because you could be in there with who knows you know but if you and I yeah let's see I'm sorry for anybody who stuck with like that shitty roommate or something like that right now. Oh God I'm my heart goes out to you Because I think it's something that I've had in the past and if this were to happen then I'd go home to my parents or something I don't know I mean I I've you know I got Jim with me. And she's been on episode. She's kept me sane where she should. I'm worried that yeah. Hey I'm going to wake up in the morning or in the in the middle of the night look up with her with a knife. I can't take that it'd be totally justifiable because as you That's fair. I'm sure no doubt okay. So let's get back into the subject matter at hand which is bin. Jabal shows That's kind of the crux of this episode. Is Benjamin shows so we've talked about breaking bad we've talked about some some cartoons some supernatural. But there's one that I'm planning on watching the just dropped season three on net flicks that I would thoroughly suggest as somebody that hasn't seen it. I've been told Time time again is ozark. Yeah I've heard that you definitely worth checking our so. Guess it's fucking Good Dude Jason Bateman on all the level a whole other level much as new season. Saugus but still good. But there's also and what I want to throw it out to the Panelists here is. There are lesser known. Shows that you may know and love. That isn't as popular some of these other shows. He's talked about that. You want to throw out as maybe for example I would thoroughly suggest the righteous gemstones. Yes it's one season and it's incredibly Benjamin and it's delightful as fuck and I think. Hbo Right now is running. Sort of a free trial type thing along with everybody else. How they're doing so get on that free trial and you'll take down registered zones in a day. Maybe two tops. Nice Scott. Yeah I was going to say Because it's not it's still newer but let's just see Disney. Plus APP has been a godsend in our house because not only have the marvel the star wars and everything else but a great show to watch the world according to Jeff Goldblum. I've I want fucking love that show. He's such a weird creep is such a weird. He does such weird mannerisms. It's bizarre works for this. And the way he does that show. It's fucking beautiful and in your also finding about a cool shit that you may not have known about before it's really awesome. He gets way too into it. Like yeah we like to slow smoked beef and he's like you slow smoke. That's amazing. Oh my God all about it and you were way too active for him. He's way slower and like ooh. He's very brash. Though Jeff Goldblum is very passionate person. I feel like yes just kind of jump back on. Hbo For a second but One of my favorite shows come out last couple years Berry Yeah. She's a mixture of like comedy drama but Bill. Hater is like I. It's only two seasons but it's worth checking out like that's definitely They must be once they start that first of us. There's GonNa go right through all the rest. Yeah and I'm back off. Hbo TRAIN WITH SEASON Three. That's a dropped like two weeks ago and go fucking westworld call. You can season one too. There and season one ended season to have serenity hopkins season three slow. I haven't started watching season three yet. It is the next thing I'm watching. Once I'm done hunters. At least catch up. The few episodes have been released. But that show is fucking amazing Deep like very intricate SCI FI. We're talking like blade. Runner s kind of stuff like West road is a show to watch really is and how it speaks everyone. You're not gonNA hear very well. Because she's got a cock on that's true crudeness vase sound like Shit. I do not do but again but just to go a little bit opposite on the. Hbo Thing or HBO is actually. The opposite is where they said because they fucked up Games. At a game of thrones the last season so bad as that's the one show you do not WanNa bench. It'll be just fucked up at the end. I didn't hate the ending. I don't know what the Fuck is wrong with these people. I think because it was slower than most of the other seasons. Really everyone can be one compares him. Yeah they great peak like what was it season. Six they were hitting a peak and then they just sorta like. I didn't mind it. It wasn't what I thought it was by. Never read the books or anything either so I just sort of had to go with the flow and has people buzzing to bitch will satisfy you too but I I didn't hate the ending. People were just being whiny bitches. It's I'm just saying if you're quarantine you see. Game of thrones perfect. Watch it at least Mo. My rule of thumb is always watching at least once whether you love it or if you gotTa Shit on it you have to watch it at least once. So Kyle got. You could say the same thing about Dexter to one. That was the show that there's no argues blacklist. It's actually been on a lot. People could see what about I mean not too much. 'cause it's like seven season or was it was like it was his last no. It's not over yet. Incompetent Ching up. Because I had I had watched the first Three seasons and I forgot how good it was And I've I've I've been catching up here and there on it and I'm like damn this is a good fuck James spader top of his game. Oh yeah totally. It's sure was made for him like he's perfectly. Netflix can show yeah. We'll try one hundred under. I'm GonNa cut you off real quick because I just wanted to say that is one that we've tried watching and we love it but we just haven't been able to finish so now would probably be. I'm glad you brought that up as a reminder. We need a follow up with that. Sorry go F- You just going to kind of change dresses. A little bit but comedies. All right. Not just serious shows comedies. It's always Sunny Philadelphia. Yes Avid You know that's the best way to kind of go through this whole experience as least watch something that's GonNa make you laugh a little bit very true down backpack. Oh that is athlete series. But if you want good comedy Epithets for family. The bill burr series. It's fucking hysterical. It's darkest shit but it's it's funny. They can't watch it and not laugh. So if you're looking for something to kind of ease but also you know I feel like accurately depict the seventies of America that we know of anyways would also suggest something that was announced by adult. Swim is all episodes of metal lock. Lips are now available through the adult. Swim App you have seen it. Then you're definitely GonNa want to Rewatch it if you haven't seen it this time. They're like between fifteen minute. Mostly fifteen minute some half hour episodes so you can take down a season and like an.

Okay and I believe we are back for the second half of our Geeks the influence episode all about Benjamin content during your home quarantine. So thank you for joining us yet again for the second half here before we get into anything else. Normally we talk about our sponsors. We've got you know Amazon dot com and t public. And if you're shopping Amazon for your stuff I mean we're all doing it as we're self quarantined. It's really helpful to get your stuff. Don't forget to do it through our Lincoln. Gui PODCAST DOT COM. Because that doesn't cost you anything but in lieu of our normal suggesting people check out our T. public page and everything. There's so many more people that are in that are in dire straits with everything. That's happening that we. We'd rather you spend your money where it's helping more there are restaurants are independently owned businesses Creators artists and stuff. That are really hurting from all the things that are happening right now in the world. So we're going to be compiling a list. Podcast DOT COM with some of our regular contributors contributors our favorites around the Richmond area. That could definitely use you to either. Go and pick up some food from their restaurants or check out their eh stores or do something to help the independence that are doing their best to Day In and day out deliver stuff and stay afloat during this craziness that is happening in the world so I wanNA give a shout out to all of our friends and basically family that are out. There that are performers that. There's some people that they can still commute for their day job but in order to make ends meet do stand up or performance of some kind burlesque or state shows of blues clues. Live is not doing live until this is all over with for the safety of the crowds and stuff. So there's a lot of people that are hurting. If you're not in the Richmond area reach out. Do pick up at restaurants in the area that independent owned restaurants. That are hurting right now. Swing by the Breweries. That are doing curbside. Drop off or pick up and stuff. You don't support your community because that's the only way we're GONNA get through. This is supporting each other. And we'll do our best to give you some links so you kind of know where to go. There is nonprofit organizations charities that are also accepting donations for the restaurant industry for performers for independent people. We're GONNA try to compile as much as we can for the Richmond area to deliver to you on our website so definitely keep an eye on that we're going to be posting the crap out of it and I mean for anybody. That's hurting through all this. We're with you. I mean we we. Our heart is with you. This sucks. Yeah there's only sucks sucks hard so thanks to everybody. That is working so hard to get the word out there and support their local businesses props to all the businesses that overnight had to come up with entirely different business model in order to stay afloat. Yeah I know how much work that. And that's going shit like your prostate. Abc for allowing now some places to deliver alcohol with their food. Like that was really cool. Fucking thing to happen. That's going to be that final thing that helps a couple of places. Stay afloat during all. This is being able to sell the booze with the food yet. There are also currently talking about stony sent out a a letter to governor north on asking that local restaurants are able to sell mixed drinks of curbside delivery in the meantime which hopefully that goes through. That would be great to be able to get like pre-mixed Margarita delivered to your house. Elliott fucking right. Yeah swing and I just want to say even a worst case scenario for anybody who needs it. There are places that even though you normally wouldn't wanNA work there or anything. There are places that are still hiring that are considered essential. That they understand that. You're only going to be there temporarily or part-time or anything but there there is work out there in case you need it. It's not ideal but there are just goes in hand in hand with the resources that are out there as well true very true. I mean I know Grocery Stores Amazon. A lot of places that are really busy right now. Yeah are hiring temporarily and hiring pain pretty well because it hazard pay. Let me tell you with having the wife who works at Kroger and granted. We've had our own things happening here. Why she hasn't worked as much but I know kroger overall as a company is giving like two extra dollars an hour. They're giving some additional pay sick time if something should happen. They're they're a lot of companies are seven and like I said it's not everybody's Cup of tea or ideal thing but a lot of companies are stepping up to help compensate and do what they can to help even though in the long run who knows but at least somebody's doing something so yeah and that that's all anybody can do. I know that Are Really tightened. Can't help out as much as we would like to. Let's say anything that helps even if just spreading the word and telling your friends where they should go is helpful even just buying gift cards gift. Cards is huge and also going to be talking Trying to get some information out and talking with our friends can't work we're here Stylus. We're talking about People that work in the retail industry that they might be able to do stuff under the table in the meantime or like workout like you gladly pay me today for a haircut. Tuesday kind of deal so lowdown. Yeah maybe stick with the pay me Tuesday thing. 'cause maybe not put over facebook that they're taking cash without taxes that's probably not smart Getting their information out there so you guys can workout to vary legally for tax purposes. Do Your thing. But the other thing along with local restaurants so on and so forth Outside of curbside pickup most Delivery APPs Eve Grub door dash whatever arisen your area. There's some other ones I've never heard of before that are like north and out west. They're killing their fees. They've stopped charging extra for it. And all they ask at the end is if you just want to tip the driver which yes 'cause tip the driver But you can also a lot of restaurants are doing that as well so you don't even have to leave your house and you can still support your local restaurant your local whatever and they have delivered to your door while also helping somebody else with his job. Aka your delivery driver so get overwhelming right there and also I because a lot of it is always related to the food the restaurant waitstaff different groups like that remember there. Are People like your local tattoo artist other art groups and things like that they can do commission work for you? Even if you don't it's not necessarily something you normally think of. Dave got supplements somehow as well like I mean. I know for you guys. You know. My brother-in-law up in Ohio G Fratto with Haven Gallery Tattoo and everything. Ohio has been one of the most strict states about everything and they were the first ones that they said they were had to shut down so those guys are doing all sorts of stuff to try to supplement. Do what they can to pay the bills for now. Because that's what they can to remember. Support the local artists as well. Even if you just want a pretty picture of something random you know give them try to do something if you can get money for sure. Yeah example. Also our buddy. Chris Manic that's been on a few the Gui shows. He works for Lucky. Thirteen along with a couple other friends of ours. And they're they're closed now. There are most to orders you talked to or also non tattoo artists. They can pay at or do other stuff Christmas no exception there Manic Arts is his deal and he's trying to commission paintings like Scotty was saying trying to create some additional income during this shutdown. So that's the time where you've been trying to find something to add to your walls and you have a few extra bucks in your telecommuting. So you're not worried about your income then support some local artists guys like it's it's really going to be a detriment to the food and Art Community. If these people aren't supported during this downtime very much yeah and I guess that's a sincere part of this Gui livestream. We are going to get back into the silly first off. Let's talk about We don't have drunken scenes prepared. We'll get to that the next episode. I know but ain't God can talk about what our goto quarantine drinks have been over time But we need a certain panelist that is on the stream to maybe sing a live rendition of the what. We're drinking so if the other payments can Stay quiet so we can have some of the lyrics if you need to look at the. It's really easy. Okay all right so without further. Ado Kyle Smash Jesus Christ all right. Hey we're fucking drinking. We're getting drunk. You want to know you you go. Hey remember go smash zoo. Obviously technology hasn't progressed where we actually have shares that we can pass through the Internet. That's not really an option. Would that.

"I'm interested to see what other shows. You guys think people should be trying out if they haven't had a chance. Yes we all know smallville. Yes we're not gonNA say smallville or we're going to say I was going to say a fact about supernatural. Is that if you start down this whole talking you. Would you catch up? And it doesn't matter because they've stopped filming the last two episodes of the series. So if you catch up it's not you know definitely work at it but it's not gonNa matter because God knows when all this ends and they can start filming again. If you are watching now you will. You will have caught up And be well ready to go when they kicked back in so and I do recommend people that see that and it's tons episodes and I. It seems like a lot. They don't order now because it's an amazing series An old one for me that I wish people would watch. It's on prime now. Is the wire. Yeah how it is on prime. So there's no reason not to watch it is one of the best cops slash gang slash union slash government. They break down every fucking entity of Baltimore and they show how the city works and how everything plays off each other. It's a fucking brilliant show. I love it. Yeah was actually. I have a collection on all that. The wife has restarted smallville which I've seen but that's the only thing I agree with. Kyle on the only thing I the only thing hunters is good. The wires great one thing. I actually started a little bit before. All the shit show started going on. But I've been able to go through it a lot quicker now obviously is that. I'm revisiting sons of anarchy again show. What's going to disappoint you? You know in the last three seasons basically. It's still kinda comes around a little bit just to finish it out but trust me that. It's it's basically those late nights of. I'm just zoning out. And that's the seasons you're talking about is on doing but the last time on that lie. I'm on the last season again. And it's approaching jess where it it does that. Nice wrap up and if you really think about it of the biblical terms on how this how Kurt Sutter road you can kind of you. It a little bit differently. It does give you a different view of it to that. That's part of my problem whether it is the biblical terms. I was GonNa say friends is something I've actually started watching again could be all Abrahams Fan. it's a damn good show damn good show They got cut short in their fifth season because of budgeting and whatnot and it was Fox But they wrapped it up really well. So if you're a fan of like J.J. Abrams science fiction. You know anything along those lines Super Eight you watch it. It's damage that's one hundred. My number one for everybody who has in it funny bringing bad. Just look that up. I'm very ball sauce. That's the that. Yeah but Brad Bad. If you're stuck you have time to kill and you've never watched it. This is the time to watch that show and I actually got a little tiff with somebody. Said they actually prefer. Everyone sent over their opinion rates. Nothing wrong with that but they actually preferred the style and storytelling brigger. Better Call Saul over breaking bad. I'm like more. Whoa whoa apples and oranges bro. Like breaking bad is probably one of the greatest things ever hit television period like. Ken Aren't like arguing Better Call Saul is good. It is not breaking bad. Yeah exactly you know. I'll I'll be honest. I haven't seen breaking bad yet. Either that one show and it's on the list wrong. It's man that was. That was one of the first shows where the wife started watching stuff without me so I had so it was a whole matter of trying to get caught up and do everything else thing. Also I've appreciated as well is and one thing that we've always done is that dude. I'm revisiting all the old star trek stuff to next generation DSS nine. And that's the I you should do that. And that's that's a staple here kyle. What are you got? You'RE GONNA if you're gonNA feel like Star Trek. The Picard is really good not paying for snow. They've put it out. You can watch it for free. Yeah actually they are operators because of The the quarantine there. Actually there's a code that you can use to get thirty days free of CBS and the last episode of the season Picard is about to drop in like a week or so. So look you can google the pass code to get free. Cbs and there's a number of doing that. There's a free preview on Amazon right now for. I think showtime where you can get all the showtime shows on Amazon prime available there There's there's passcodes for shutter it shut in all the shutter one. Yeah Yeah Ours has a deal for ninety nine cents. Yeah it's crazy and one thing I've realized that fortunately some these people are being you know it's smart business or whatever what's going on. Is that all. These people are not doing enough unlike extending their free trial periods for stuff. They're giving heavy heavy deals on stuff as well for the next three months. You can pay five dollars a month for stars or one this other like cable like the premium networks or something. Yeah so there are at least deals out there. That can make it worthwhile at least for a little while. Now double check the contract or whatever you gotta sign up for but I know that this stuff is out there going with some other things that are enjoyable that this is newer stuff that I've Actually just caught up on so in. Hulu they started. I mean year almost a year and a half ago into the dark series where you get a new horror movie every month. And it's the Matt Month and I've plowed through I two before this quarantine ship but it helps finish the series out but yeah. I mean it's a it's a going into April so there's march so you've got like fifteen episodes started October of twenty eighteen. So that's definitely what checking out there's enough episodes and movies you know. They're like our fifteen hour thirty movies. Yeah that's the way to binge movie like. We were talking about earlier. We're like if you're gonNA bend something got. Yeah well and we'll the nice thing is is that there will first off their indie films. There there they may have some bigger names attached to him they do. They're the proper amount of time for horror movie star now like two plus hours are like an APP between an hour hour and a half and one thing I'm stoked about. Is that one of the first ones that the did they have. A sequel coming out for it now. One of the first ones which one cookie or something or Christmas one Puka Puka. They had people coming out as part of that series now. Wow he actually showed up in another one later on in the series Yup as as a toy on the mantle. He's been a theme kind of running through it too so it's pretty cool. They do a great crossover for this universe of this into the darkness stuff like there's inset all sorts of other things. It's it's beautifully done. That's all by a bunch of different great names do so got something and then this phone yeah. I just wanted to piggyback on. What you were saying about. The movies is With everything the whole landscape is changing as far as what we know as Netflix and Hulu and binge watching movies or TV shows that are made for the format of TV but the ones that in theaters that are now being put out into the world because the whole landscape is going to change because Ronan virus We'll bring a whole new meaning to the word. Been when you when you don't have to even go anywhere anymore. You know which were now is the case You can watch a lot a lot of things. I didn't think I was GonNa see you know I I actually today of luck. S All Once upon a time in Hollywood and I I said amazing. It was an amazing movie. Now last ten minutes of that is fucking Soon TO BRAD. Pickett is still every fucking every fucking movie he does. I do want to mention that. Our friend Murphy. Who's watching right? Now mentioned the Shiro series on net flicks as an option as well and I tried to watch the first couple of episodes. I think it's more the animation and the story that issue because it's kind of like modernize it's similar to the animation on the new teen Titans series and. That's a little more cutesy than I tend to go. I like that. They're really building the mythos of Shiro a little bit more. I really liked. They're giving it more of a kind of fancy depth. So that's cool I it. It's definitely something worth looking into I. I didn't really get past the animation myself but I do definitely need to give it another shot. Lowdown everyone talk. We want to go on the animation animation spectrum who for those who haven't checked out the newest. Voltron is fucking rat right. Yeah it's so good. I watched it. I watched a lot of episodes with the kids. Seem to go back and actually finish it but I got to watch a lot with the kid And also What is it him Young Justice on Netflix their flakes the animation stone. That is awesome nice. Yeah Yeah we are things taking a break. I will be back in just a few minutes. So stick around. We'll get the livestream going on the geeks under the influence facebook page in. Just a minute geeks. This is the part of the episode where we talk about events and stuff going on From the infants network in the coming month and as you may have guessed unfortunately do self quarantining. We're not doing a whole lot of live stuff out in about in the world and it's just really unfortunate timing because we are staring down the barrel of our five year anniversary of geeks on the influence and unfortunately our plans or ideas that we had four celebrating. That kind of went by the wayside because of the self quarantining all the clubs and stuff around town not really doing anything at the moment but we are planning on doing something around the twentieth of April. We don't have the exact information out just yet. We're just getting that together. But we'll be doing something online that you can participate in you can enjoy and We'll have more information about.

"I don't mean that negatively in my life we have Coronas Shipman. That's fair that is fair so next one up is The gentleman that's on all the shows ever that's ever existed on you. I think as a regular host the CO host with the most as co host of beautiful disasters from the mouth of madness occasional co host Geek father and Co host of my heart. All Mr Fuck you hundreds here. What's up bitches? Just you know watching a ton of Shit that I'd never thought I'd have time for 'cause there's a Lotta time right now. There is in fact a lot of extra time knocking out net flicks series in two days. That usually take me like three or four leased left and right is definitely the time where stuff that you know. You're looking at the number of seasons and going. I don't WanNa get into this because that's all I'll be watching for like three years. That's more like three days now because I'm going to start probably supernatural. I know it's GonNa make low down and kyle very happy and it's because what else am I gonNA do? The shamed review next one. Up is the The Co host of this shit show as well as the host of Gi nights and from the mouth of madness. We've got these sexual chocolate My partner in crime running on the influence network. We've got the lowdown Brown macgyver. Let's go on everyone. Thank you for dealing with us trying to give you something to ease the pain also causing us pain but such appreciate tuning in dealing with the episode audio. Li and it's going to be coming out later because we'll ho how that's GonNa Work Habit. This is five tracks of this shit. Yeah the editing is going to be weird for this one. You don't have time so there is that true and honor. It's about fucking time Bro. Like seriously that's on my list of Benjamin shows because there's no fucking excuse hobbit in fucking breaking bad no fucking excuse shortly I am. I am halfway through the second season of breaking bad now already. So we're through it. I'm GONNA probably be done with breaking bad in the next probably weaker. Say you got three more seasons. That's only five seasons man. You're good and then the movie and then better call Saul think Scott he's got some well introduced another. The other panelists though. Oh yeah there's that is the case. So we've got the founder of the network. The man who actually lied a fire in my gullet. That made me WanNa do this. Shit the man who. I can't Dr Jack Right now even though it looks really sexy as diplomatic. I gotta Jimmy Johns before you Bro. Might have a big hello everyone and welcome to a very special episode of the influence. We are all going. Stir crazy in our homes as we have not been able to leave a lot of us. No not me I leave you guys. Apparently are going insane gets leave to its Fox. Yeah this is a day. Eight of nineteen for me so then a challenge to say the least. I still I still was going to bring up something like well. Because I've I've been the main one going to the store because as you guys know we also had a case of the flu for everybody else in the house except for me so I've been working from home and took care of the wife and the boys who had the flu for over a week. Yeah so but if we're GonNa Talk Benjamin shows I'm going to hop right into it. We gotta talk about the tire in the room. Oh absolutely the best way to start out mother fucking Tiger King. Shit yes it. That's actually. It's funny you brought that up. That's what I was going to bring up is thrall this shit. There's tiger gang to keep you entertained for. At least a couple of days is low so I watched like I think I watched the last episode Because Rachel wanted to finish it last night and I think it's really all I need to see it like I don't I don't I don't like documentary. Style shows like that. I don't I don't like reality. Tv I fucking ate it. I don't care about the content of it I fucking hate it so I'm good with that. You guys take the reins on that. I probably Never GonNa Watch anything else on that show about it. This is the first show that the wife and I totally benched in one night. It wasn't even days it was it was started. It like about dinnertime and just finishing the kids who are like passed out on the couch. And we're just like that really fucking happen next episode next episode and we just rolled with it. It was frigging nuts. I had a friend that posted. What do you have me watching right now? And my response. I couldn't think of a better way to very quickly. Describe what Tiger King is and I just put white people shit. I've had enough of that so called white people the movie because that is the most like I think Joe Exotic as he calls himself said he's the Gay Redneck. Cowboy Tiger Zoo owner with a mullet or some combination of things. And I don't want to get into any real deep spoilers because it is relatively new show and I really put the first episode. You're realizing how fucking bat shit this is and that's the beginning. It just gets worse. Yeah Oh there's a point in the second episode. I had to just hit pause and just kind of regain like staffer second because it just went so far off the rails from what I was expecting had to stop but I was GONNA say Real Quick. Probably were the best means. I've seen this as Stefan. You know. Bill Hater. You used to do on. Sarah live and he describes the entire series and it sounds like his whole sketch when he would talk about New York nightclubs. Yeah it is actually the fucking show. He's like you've got this and this and it sounds so fucking made up. No that's actually the fucking show and especially if you do it if you know the character. Stefan that he does and you do it in his voice and you know that voice that he would be doing it and makes it so much better but like you said hunter completely accurate. It's accurate as hell. And that's the weird part. The fact that there is a rival tigers zoo owner that has like a sex cult. And that's not the craziest shit in this show. He's got like the nineteen ninety two soul stash and has like an all girl likes tiger sex colt. And that's like episode three and it just gets weirder from there. I'm sorry when they Colombian guy that inspired scarface is the calmest and most chill motherfucker on that documents that series that tells you everything has no any casually talks about them chainsaw a fucking DA agent. He's like yeah that happened. You're like that guy still saner than everybody else on this fucking show responses like. I didn't do it myself but I was. There plagued excuse right well and the whole dynamic of this documentary as well as that. It's obviously about Joe Exotic but how rollercoasters into the guy with the sex called he actually looked up to. They were friends that was his role model. Joe Exotic like the do that had the sexual was his role model. Then they go into is beef with the woman in Florida who possibly killed her husband and fed them to the Tigers possibly pointed warning. And that's one of the biggest means that I came out about this show. I mean it goes back to all the other stuff that this is not something that you would like the woman that killed her husband like. That's not going to be like well. I guess I don't have to watch the series anymore. No this series is so utterly fucking Bat Shit. There's one point where the woman that is thought to. Maybe probably murdered her husband at one point said well tigers not gonNA eat a foot for no reason you have to cover it and salmon oil or I would think it's so just be like that's how I killed my husband. Basically had that knowledge. It's a fever dream of a show and I suggest. Check it out lowdown. So apparently it's a Y- it's something you can watch to make you feel better about e each individual's personal life choices. Maybe I guess when I watched it was like Like I said he was in jail. Yada Yada Yada and I'm like Oh this is okay. I wrapped it up so I don't get some what you're saying but like I really don't like that style shows at all so it might be well before we get to it. When there's other things that are shot the way I like it that I can watch what I've been watching Hunters on prime which gotta say on the second to last episode and the the. It's it's going up there with some Pacino's best work like his role in that show. Of course he does he goes full Pacino Multiple Times because you get a series of Pacino as an angry Holocaust survivor but like the emotion. Everything else he does is one of his greatest actor. Goals ever say that now being almost on the series and that's a High Bar Godfather Godfather to your face. It's fucking up man great performance by Pacino so a recommend everyone checkout hunters as far as other streaming A Lot that I've seen on On social media is people that are visiting series that have been around for a while that they never got around to like a hundred. You said that you're watching supernatural now. I'm going to start going. Yes I'm doing. Great how many seasons of Plenty shingle last season? Which is fifteen. I was like seasons sixty seven. I think his point six hundred sixty six. Yes six hundred sixty six so this is definitely a good time to really pick something that you've been waiting forever to do.

Live streaming down at the bottom of my screen anyway and for for those watching the live stream as well as the purveyor of smash talk to regular and all the other network shows. You've got Karl Smash here. What's happening. Everybody how you doing bud. It's really good to see your faces. These same four fucking walls just a little technical stuff. There's GonNa be some audio cut in and out. There's GONNA be some some video issues as well. That's just part of the deal. We're also getting used to this format so We're we're kind of figuring it out as we go and So appreciate your patience with us. The next one up is the mayor of the Geek. Father the Father Himself. Mr Scotti P is here was up. Y'All how you doing but you are stuck with tiny little baby kids. So that's a level of hell that I can't begin to fully understand all you fighting with your kids over the headset. So well that's been probably been one of the worst things is just like with Logan. We're keeping up with a little bit of schoolwork doing things like that. But there's definitely been way extra video game time around this house more so than what these kids are normally used to in at this point. I'm fine with that. No worries on my an affair eventually. Start kicking your ass though..

You know normal stuff on. Normal Shit Deuce. Yes we will be having as we get a little bit more familiar with doing this. We're going to have our intro music and the disclaimer and all the normal stuff we had when we were doing the life life streams on Youtube before back in the day for those that have been following us that long. "You has the fucking. Oh comic absolutely you're like waiting. You're like please make this happen because in the comic hueys pretty much care design is straight up science pretty much. They actually ask permission use his his look the character they they made huey to be simon impact so when hugh is dad shows up like and it's simon pegg faulk yes so satisfying. I gotta agree though with the with the the way the characters are in. I don't know if this happened in the comic. I'm coming from respective of not having read the the series yet. <hes> it is on the list of other things. I need to eighty two. I want you the first yeah okay matthew but he kind of set it off like there were a couple of things that happened earlier on before for his big break that set the tone for the show but as far as the violence factor he's the one that set it off with translucent translucent and amos bomb. Oh no shit so title now yeah right. That's bomb the i want to very quickly go over who's on the cast of characters for this episode of each influences before we go into the rest of it on <hes> this. Oh it's so good. I am so deeply excited about talking about this to my right. One of the co host of beautiful disasters regular co host on geek father other and one of the main co host on the newest episode coming out on key under the influence network. I listened and podcast. Have you listened truly listen. I stayed up all night waiting for you to come home to listen to the podcast. God dammit you. You've got to edit the podcast guest. Every third sunday and then in the summer supervised a supervisor supervisor yeah fuck you hunters here. I'm i'm i'm so excited about the news episode <hes> which you guys will be recording i think tomorrow from the time that we're recording your recording tomorrow and the first episode will be on various stories to tell in the dark <hes> <hes> we're gonna be talking about the new release came out august eighth so three days ago and then we're gonna be talking about the book series because they actually should actually picked from from all three books now the next one up to <hes> hunters right the purveyor of geek father the geek father himself scott a._p.'s a._p.'s here the big daddy would up was happening. I liked it. I hate the term daddy so much and you are just like nope just all over my face neck and chest daddy get big. Daddy big daddy daddy which makes it so much worse. Yes hi daddy is bad enough and then you had big daddy and not in that adam sandler. We're kind of way it's it's almost like as much as i talk about my face on a pillow goddamn at pats or <hes> yeah never hey never no one's been bought and that was in big data big. Daddy p sounds like a trucker handle. It sounds like on death row records. That's no not death row. That's more of like you should be opening up for bubba sparks with that. What is that hurt. That hurt my soul. What regularly was colt ford yeah right now. What was the what what was the the tank o those masterpiece labels forget the name of the day all day. They were just throwing out ch- the shit shit so basically the masterpiece podcasting nanna scotty masterpiece here. I got another go go to his right my right hand man on my left. The other runner of the geeks under the influence network and my co host <hes> also runs g._u._i. Nights and the soon to be from the mouths of madness drummer holy shit down macgyver this guy ever again. Hello yeah yeah that too much of a build up fine. It's just ooh. I figured you do that editing. It'd be a nightmare. I thought he was just keeping his hands about the table able by doing that. So we oh okay yeah. He was trying to prevent having to give you a dry handrail of events yeah right yeah you fucking greedy bets pat. Ah no reach around for you. Motherfucker know you as the housekeeper and the omen. It's all for you. How the dalai the government exists longer coming up next year to you. I will be remaking making the omen very very darker way back up. Oh oh oh yes yeah. You got a lot of stuff on your plate. That's going to be moving forward here in the future. It's not a lot is just a lot of stuff. I've already gotten handled and now it's literally just recording being the first episode. I mean everything else. I've already. I've already prepped. I would say we've been doing this long enough that a lot of the like the editing stuff and the format stuff. You've got enough experience that it's going to be hitting the ground running on. We're gonna record it. <hes> and it's going to be awesome but also the intro tro all that stuff. You know what it's all set man. I am so excited and hunter fuck. You hundred just saw it today and he enjoyed it as much as i did. Yeah and i know we all grew up with the story so at home for me. Watching like oh jarido also is that because of just how much stuff is coming out <hes> nowadays that is in the geek genre of films and tv shows and everything else. It's really hard for us to get to horror movies all the time because they are are stuff that we want to talk about but they aren't like big giant like five hundred million dollar movie stuff. We didn't talk about that cemetery. We didn't talk about talk about midsummer. Oh i got him. Burn bright burn. We didn't get a chance to talk about brian. Superhero related crossovers silvers right there superhero horror related so this is allowing the network to cover stuff that we just haven't had the time or the schedule except the able to cover yeah except in october episodes in october but so i'm deeply excited that we're actually going to get a chance to cover these things so thank you so much both of you for getting this going because i'm excited just as a fan of horror to listen to and not have to edit or do anything i can be like new podcast air hi five on the air hi fi we've got we've got a a lot of fun stuff in in the works for these these episodes like it's not just going to be you know to hosts and a guest talking about stuff. It's going to have a lot of extra. Loonies involved tasty treats yeah but before you know i've talked enough about that. He's going to have to tune in and pay attention all the socials when we post the first episode right and then listen yeah yeah follow that shit on facebook you guys facebook and instagram now yeah final but not least mike i bic the man who is the reason that i'm starting harper cast the wee hughie of looked like huey that it donald's out you started nine. You got me. I knew we'd love it. He gets not mcdonald's like wendy's indies. At least they'll give you tacos. We'll give you talk. You ate a lot of tacos. La burritos paul's you punched him in the ball well well. You know i give them so much. Love i give them a little haven. Once in a while. I'm on the air and that's exactly why i said the wee hughie as opposed to billy butcher is that i get. I get shit on a lot but ultimately it's like. Oh oh fuck you pulled this off. Seriously that is exactly what we did. Here almost would have what we have. It wasn't for this fucker tomorrow. That is actually the gyi. The network is like oh fuck. This is working all right shit so i am the founder of the gigs under the influence network and the host of this <hes> mhm show welcome to shit show all right. Also we just a little plug that we have our first trivia night at switch the bar on richmond on the twenty eighth of august. It's a wednesday is going to be nineties. Themed as fuck like everything is ninety centric. What's for the trivia board. It's downstairs in ninety three which is totally nineties themed. They've got drinks. They've got the entire setup down. There set up ninety. It's going to be a blast more info is going to be podcast dot com in the very near future so check that out come on out enjoy some trivial g._u._i. And ninety tastic music music and <hes> questions so that's fucking red now onto the boys boys boys now if you're unfamiliar with the comic the boys it was was written by garth ennis who's primarily known for some of the most upsetting punisher stories that oh agreed agreed but like dark deeply dark and deeply not for kids and for those of you who are fans of the a._m._c. series the preacher he was also the author of that comic yes as well and they they haven't they. They've condemned some stuff but the insanity that's in that series they stayed true to a lot of the just chaos they can get away with the exact kind of what we i wanna talk about as well on this episode talking about the boys is that there are definitely some major changes to the story based on what you can get along. Get on with in a current timeline.
