"Look, I think Mark Andrews. He might still be the number one target. Yeah, I would. I would go as far as to say that. And I think he won't take another. Maybe a step may be a step forward in 2021. The other guy, I think is maybe the most interesting and we're you know, I'm kind of looking at this from a fantasy perspective. But JK Dobbins enters into a situation that you know, he looks like he'll be the you know, the de facto number one running back. I know this team likes to use multiple running backs Mark Ingram, I think Often under appreciated as a player, a lot of injuries that he battled through last year. I think you know his lack of presence in the lineup. I did think led to some of the issues that they had in a running game. But JK Dobbins to me really is he's that young, dynamic playmaker. I'm pretty excited to sort of see what his outlook as this year are you expecting? You know, Buck Elena's still sort of get a lot of Carrie's Or Is this going to be the JK Dobbins and Lamar Jackson Show in the backfield? Eyes. It's Jake a job in, um and Gus Edwards. Edwards. Yes. I'm sorry. Gus Edwards. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, It's okay. So you know, you know Mark Ingram, they let go protection protection now. Look before last season, I was asked by somebody you know who's gonna be like the surprise name or, you know, maybe the not the unsung hero but who's gonna have a breakthrough performance in 2020? I immediately thought, Jakey Dobbins, and, um, he did. I mean, he came on strong. They weren't just going to give him the job, especially when they have marking. There was a respected veteran. On Mark Ingram, you know, slowly took a back seat to JK Dobbins and JK Dobbins is elusive. I mean, he is the guy that you saw at Ohio State. It has transition to the pro game. And Yeah, I mean, I think he's gonna have another big year. You know, his numbers are going to go up. He knows what the NFL game is all about. And, um Yeah, I think it is definitely the Robbins and Jackson Show on the ground and don't don't sleep on Gus Edwards. All that guy does is pick up first downs and, um so You know, as long as You know a Zilong is the Ravens aren't facing, um No. A golden Go with Theron Johnson out there. They should be fine in 27 2021. Bravo, my friend! Bravo! I am going to go against my better judgment and I'm going to talk a little hockey with you for the next like two minutes. I think Washington is at a really interesting crossroads. I don't want to say crossroads because I still think regardless. It has there better, better long term contract to ever play out. Then then, like Alex Ovechkin, when somebody signs a 10 year, a seven year contract you almost it's done almost knowing they'll never see the end of that contract. And I think Alex Ovechkin is one of those rare people that Not only was that contract worth that you could almost make the argument that it it was a value like That they really kind of got way more out of that contract than than even else. Ovechkin did. But he's a free agent at the end of this year, wondering sort of, you know, in the in the breath of this Jack Eichel talk Is there a sense there in Washington that there needs to be a move made in order to help them? Maybe get the most out of Alex Ovechkin's last couple of years and maybe the top of his game. I'm not saying Ovechkin is like, you know, in the dog days here anything but he is on the back end of a career that is one of the best diver is gonna end up being probably one of the best scores of all time. But is there a sense that move needs to be made to pair him with someone that maybe gives them an opportunity to win another cup or two? Yeah, definitely. I mean, the doc. Um And as you saw in the Bruins Syriza on, you know that just ended. The cats for a couple games. They looked old. Um, I mean, their window is open, but you know, it's it's closing over the next two years. I mean, they're still their best players are still Um, you know, backs. Trump was their leading scorer over that skin. Um, you know, um On Carlson, who's not old, but he's not young anymore. Uhm, you know, they're one of the oldest teams in the National Hockey League. And you know they're the sense is that Something there needs to be a legit hockey trade and it Ah lot of fans on, I think I think in the front office is well, that might revolve around Afghani Kuznetsov, who has been has made some questionable decisions. Let's make Let's put it that way. Off the ice being on the coded list a couple times then, you know, going into the playoffs without Kuznetsov, and since only because they were dealing with, you know, being on the Kobe Protocol. That that, really I think it really hurt him. Um, you know, you want to be rolling when you hit Game one, and you dropped the puck. For the playoffs, and they just weren't They were also deal with injuries that everybody's dealing with injuries. But that being said Look, the caps. They had a lead in Game two. They, you know, they lost it late, and they lost in overtime. They hit two posts. Game three double overtime, a bad play by same sewn up behind the net and the Bruins. No, they take that game and, you know game for was a stinker in Game five happened game. They were right in it. Um That's the playoffs, man that is the playoffs. But Yes, I think that it doesn't necessarily revolve around getting the most out of Alex Ovechkin, doing it for Ovechkin toe prioritize his final years and then let's say that he's not going anywhere. He's going to re sign with the caps. But I think it's really to keep this window open and keep this team among the best in the end and shell. I think they need Tonto. I think they need to change something because a couple a couple years ago. After the cup, you know it was It was too straight exits and it was it was on the coach. They fired the coach to bring in love. You'll let And out. Now it's on the players because it happened again. So you're saying it's not always the coach's fault? Well, in the instance of the sabers, my friend, uh It. It has. Listen, dude, I you You covered this town, and you know that Even when the bills are at the very best, this still remains. A hockey tone at heart and where this organization and where Teri and Kim Pakula are sort of over on their watch, have let this thing go to Um, you know, I was on my bulldog yesterday, filling in for Mike and you know, it's It's troublesome. It's worrisome. I don't I'm running out of good words to use. But like they are close to losing this thing, man like that. And in a way that you know, I'm worried about, you know, next season about ticket sales, Dude, I mean, this is this is a town that watches hockey regardless of how bad it is Their national, like their TV ratings have been number two for the better part of a decade, and their TV rings are down. 38%, Shawn. I just As a former Western New York yourself, I'm one I'm wondering what your take is on, like just how dire and maybe how the rest of the league is looking at this situation. Yeah. You know what it is? It's sad. Yeah, it's just a sad state of affairs. But maybe I'm an eternal optimist. Look, I mean, it's really hard the law of averages right? Yeah, you do. But you've been due for subtle, huh? Look, winning cures all ills That's easy to say. Um, but, yeah, I mean, It took too long to get rid of Get rid of Kruger. Obviously way too. Um Look, the hockey and then at the NHL is way better When Buffalo's good I've been there. I know the passion for hockey. It's why I was so fired up to work there and And get a job there originally, and I still miss going to the rink. Being early to the rink is at first Niagara Center. What is it keeping center now?.

"Uhm, there's a feeling of the work is not yet done is the feeling that that justice has been served. Maybe some accountability has been Um, given but justice hasn't been served in. We need tol Bill down on our efforts to make sure we ushering in a living embodied anti racist culture, and that hasn't been served yet. Yeah, well, you talked about creating spaces safe spaces in Minneapolis. For people to go to. Maybe even someone's parlor is are people doing that? Yeah, what I've been saying in terms of the people that I've been holding, but also in communities that people are are much more, especially in the black community. Much more geared towards turning towards each other and not on each other. Remember that just because we got a guilty verdict does not mean that the brutality of white body supremacy Has gone away so people are are gathered are starting to gather together. People are turning towards each other and in really trying to usher in a different type of, um, reality for us, not just in Minneapolis but all across the nation and across the world. Yeah. How is trauma showing up? It's it's interesting, completely different. But I was thinking how where we are. At least I am here in Boston. You know, a year after the Boston bombing, the day almost feels sacred. But also it brings back you know, for a lot of people. What? What? What about there? Yeah. So one of the things that I've been hearing a lot of people who have lost, um, who have lost Children due to police violence. One of the things that I've heard them say quite a bit is that you know they love the support. You know the things that in terms of people rallying around them, But what happens a year from now, two years from down three years from now, when you're actually going through the Are people still reaching out? Are people still holding them are people putting their arms around him? And so I think, you know, we have to think about this in the long term, as opposed to the short time that the that the people in our community will need support. From here on out. Look. A recent Associated Press poll showed that 61% of black Americans say Derek Sheldon's conviction hasn't changed their confidence in the criminal justice system. They don't have much We're reading the police department in Minneapolis, which you worked with in the past. Is woefully understaffed, Demoralized. Have you spoken with Minneapolis officers about how they feel? I'm not not not the whole not the police department. But I've spoken with individual officers. And one of the things that's happening now is that we forget that you know, racial justice and violence and gun violence and communities are and police accountability are connected. Hand in hand. Communities. Black communities across the nation. Don't feel comfortable in interacting with the police. So therefore, when we need the police, we don't reach out to the police because we don't see them as an asset, and I think was happening now. Is that you know, because of, you know, Children and and also the increasing in and gun violence. Here we're was, there's a kind of like a A point where people are saying, you know, we need we need to make sure that we heal from this stuff in the police. People don't have confidence that the police are are willing to actually take the step forward. In terms of accountability so well, But then you have people like long time black activist Sandra Samuel. She's part of a group of residents who sued the city or over police shortages, he said. We need the police. So there's that as well. Just Yeah, we have Yeah,.

"That are destroying our country. Lives of black people lives of real black people who are on the ground who are victimized. You're gonna hear statistics. You're going to hear stories that are very compelling. Coming up in just a little bit of a number by the way is 800 to 88 w B a p 800. 2889227 Um, this is about the North Carolina shooting the death shooting death of Andrew Brown. And Joe Biden's The FBI is now opening a probe. They opened a probe into the shooting death before anything's even be then. Released or anything, and it's just crazy is absolutely crazy. So, um, I want to give you more statistics. More. Or it could be more information on this because Ben Crump, the race pimp attorney who Tamir Rice's mom said she fired and demanded he stop using her name and her son's name and pimping off of her. A swell as black lives matter, because they're getting nothing. The room in the lives of black people get and she gets nothing. And so there you go. I mean, the truth comes out. Which I've been telling you about for for years. Don't listen to me. Listen to to me, Timmy A rice, his mother. Now the guy that you're being told for 24 hours for actually past 48 hours or more from Ray's Pimpin Trump in North Carolina. Is Has 180 page record. Oh, convictions. He's a drug dealer off. Police say, Felony arrest warrant service was was on this one that led to him getting shot and killed. Felony search warrant service and felony arrest Warrant service. Which is why the quote police look quote heavily militarized, which is what they do when They are going after somebody to take him down, who was a known drug dealer with 100 and 80 page record with violence and drugs and a tremendous drug dealer selling crack cocaine, meth? And and other horrible drugs that are destroying the black community. Um Anything prior in his history and arrest with violence and weapons is what this is about, And that's why they did this. I heard an expert today on Fox News talking about the serious nature of all this and why This was so serious when they executed the warrant also, what's really incredible that you need to know about this case because you're being lied to about it is that multiple officers shot Andrew Brown in North Carolina in Elizabeth. Uh, it's called Elizabeth Town, Uhm, North Carolina. Elizabeth City. Be Multiple cop shot. Not just one. It was about. I think about five shots five times He was shot and I'll give you more details of the second on that, but including in the back of the head, which that doesn't mean anything. They're lying, saying was executed. You don't know that. And but they don't want you know what the truth is, they never do as you know, Like Michael Brown. Always a gentle giant. No, he was a thug trying to kill a cop. So high and th e that he was hallucinating the level of th e in his system from from we was he was loosening and by the way, High levels of THC lied to Um, psychotic. Test psychotic episodes. And when Sykes psychosis happens, and you're in your in your mind, you get very violent. Do you remember the guy in Miami? Who won under a bridge and eight homeless man's face off. They told us it was bath salts and weed. It was not. It was just weed. Do not. That's from Alex Berenson, who wrote an entire book on How Dangerous Weed is starting with his wife, who was a psychiatrist who deals who works with criminal. She's criminal, a forensic psychiatrist. She's the one who told him we'd is causing psychosis and tremendous amount of violent in bad crimes you see is because of weed. He laughed. Didn't believe it. He went and investigated cause he was in New York Times reporter and turns out, he wrote a book on saying Holy crap, She's right psychosis. That, or just being a thug is why Michael Brown did what he did to the cop. Take your pick. I mean, he'd be strong arm robbed a man earlier a few minutes before that his grandma's neighborhood That's what he thinks of his grandmother neighborhood. What Be The 180 page record. And convictions s so when when you're getting shot by, and by there was some multiple officers shot the Andrew Brown in North Carolina. Multiple officers. That means you have more than one officer. At the time that this went down. That believed it was reasonable to use deadly force. And here's a quotation from an expert Today force must be objectively reasonable. For a cop to use deadly force. It must be objectively reasonable Maura officers than one were of the same mindset that this was objectively reasonable to use. Deadly force. So you're gonna have a real tough time just off of that Now we don't know. We don't know anything, and it's possible they both met made a mistake or three of my know how many's shot but it's also possible this guy was was thinking black lives matter of becoming a hero. I'll do something crazy. Or maybe he went for his weapon known. He has 180 page record Who knows is a felony search warrant. Family weren't felony search warrant to take him in. What do you think? Where's he gonna go with 180 pages of arrests? So once again and Joe Biden's like Joe Biden's stumbling on himself like he wasn't he was stumbling up the Air Force one trying to worship People of color and lift them above and and look at them with that soft bigotry of low expectations. Well, you're black, so it's obviously murder and the cop whether it's right or not. Doesn't matter. You're black, so it's murder and I'm on your side. FBI's in For anything comes out. And by the way, even if the body cameras released tomorrow after the 10 o'clock hearing in front of the judge, North Carolina just so you understand it means nothing until you have all the facts. So here's Here's some of the crap I got from the stories on Fox News today. Then Trump the race pimp attorney I told you about, he says, just released footage of the military's militarized police force rushing in to kill Andrew Brown. This has become a constant sent across America. The evolution of policing is now terrorizing communities of color. That is a lie. 80% of black people want more cops. Or do not want to and or do we want the same or more level of policing in communities of color black people? Brown was killed US eight days ago, says Fox as they were attempting to serve a drug related search and arrest warrant on him shot five times. Four on the right arm. Which means to me, Maybe it actually doesn't mean anything We don't know. But for the right arm once in the back of the head, according to independent autopsy, so by the way, If that's the case, it could be because the first couple shots or he was reaching to do something maybe is reaching down below the seat. That's why they shot him cause that point. They're going to use it. It's a serious felony warrant. For serious, dangerous felon. And maybe he reached down to grab a weapon. Maybe there's a weapon in the car. You know anything doesn't matter, right? Maybe he shot the back of the head. But he was reaching down for something maybe was because he was shot the first as when the first shot came in. He reflected and move his head that you don't know The point is, it doesn't mean anything. Mom said there were numerous assault rifles. I'm sorry, the one of the attorneys said quote. There was numerous assault rifles that scene. There's no such thing in this assault rifle, you tool race pimp attorney but number two That's what you do when you're getting a dangerous felony onto the interests of phony warrant into a dangerous felon into custody. We watched it over and over again, said one of the Rays, pimps and he try and finally tries to get away and he backs out. But not going toward the officer at all. At no time in the 20 seconds we saw was he threatening the office? Yet? 20 seconds isn't telling me And, um I'll share with you the other side and just the second as well. I'm gonna try to finish this part. Um Okay. He put the car in reverse. Is Fox news shot while sitting in a car with his hands on the steering wheel, supposedly One of the ones in the back of the head is you put the car in reverse trend around 1/10 of the fleet. Is what one of the folks all this up Okay, This is the race pimp attorney says where he was trying to evade being shot..

It was wonderful. I got to meet the governor and I'm a cardinal fan. So I got to see the cheerleaders and the mascot or whatever he is. It was wonderful. I didn't have any idea. I mean, All the stars were mine. I guess so. When they when they ask you to get out of the car, you like crap. Did he do something wrong? Well, I just Yeah, Well, I thought what you know, because when I had my first shot, I didn't have to get out. You know, I mean, well, I did step out. Just put my arm out, but Well, when I saw you know the governor and everything you know, I I didn't I had no idea. I had no idea. That's all there was. Judy is joining us on Katya er she was the she was shot number 500,000. And so we found it. I found out about this. Judy, Your grandson works here at the radio station. Yes, he does have Dunlap. He's one of the best guys around. So I saw his Twitter and I said, Call your grandmother and get her on the show. And so he He made sure that we got your number on. I'm so glad that you got the second vaccine. Did you win anything? I mean, if they're getting you out of the car, you're the 5/100. 500,000 vaccine. Did they give you like a check or something? Or what did they do? No. No, But that was fine. I mean, you know, I got I'm so glad. I mean, all those volunteers are working so hard and the professionals and everything is run so nicely. And, you know, it was so nice experience, you know, it was a wonderful experience. So, Judy, were you nervous to get the shot? I mean, this was your second one. So you've already gone through it The first time was there any kind of Nerves or wasn't no crazy. Absolutely not of good. No, it's a wonderful experience. I mean, it's it's wonderful. There's just no reason for anybody not to get it. You've got to help yourself. Like that? Yes, to give the governor any your gripes or something like that to say. Hey, listen, heavens, No, I love the governor know, wagging your finger at him or anything. Never know I I admire him. I That was. I forgot even about getting the shot. When I met the governor, I just I was overwhelmed. You sure you got you Sure you got the shot, though, right? I did OK, that you don't even feel It is so gentle. And, uh, you know, it was no, it was nothing. It was great. You get big Red's autograph for a hug from big red or anything like that. They were wonderful, too. Yeah, I bet the little cheerleaders and everything. And uhm the guy that was there, you know, representing the Cardinals, and I did ask him or Larry Fitzgerald Woz why he wasn't there, but we gotta figure out if he's gonna play a retire, right? Well, Yeah, he's wonderful to Judea. Listen, I'm looking at a picture of you with Governor and all the cheerleaders you could fit in. Just fine with those cheerleaders. I gotta tell you. Oh, sure. Here instead of you. Hey, Judy. Thanks for joining us. It was fun to have you on. Appreciate your time. You bet. And thank you for calling here. Judy was shot number 500,000 State farm and she pulls up to the pod and all of a sudden there's all this commotion and You know, there's the Cardinals, cheerleaders and big red and governor do see and Dr Cara Crist and that's fun. That's pretty. You celebrated 500,000. When you go through that process to get the vaccine. It's really surreal looking with the tents and everybody out there whether to pursue your second time. So that's kind of funny, but the others that were out there enjoyed seeing that as well. Just think about this State Farm stadium. That venue has distributed more vaccinations than 50 countries..
Facebook moves to dismiss federal, state antitrust suits
"Meantime, Facebook has filed a formal motion to a federal judge to dismiss in antitrust lawsuit. By the FTC, the social network, saying the government is attempting a do over trying to unwind acquisition that got approval years ago. Joining us now for more. Bloomberg's David McLaughlin, who's following the case, David what's Facebook's argument here? Could they actually get this suit thrown out? Well, certainly that's what they're trying to do. So they're trying to knock out of court this very early stage. The case was filed in December. Uhm this is their first formal response to the government. Lawsuit. They make a lot of arguments. But one of the key things that they say is that They said the government's trying to do it do over. They reviewed both of these deals. The Instagram What's up deals? They investigated them years ago, and now they're trying to come back and, um, unwind them. Facebook lists a bunch of services that they compete with Tic Tac Twitter snap linked in saying that the government is ignoring the realities of the competition. That they face what happens next. Now that Facebook has made this move. Right. So the FTC the state to that, dude, what will respond to this and then ultimately will be. We'll go to the judge. There could be, um An argument before the judge. Um and It's certainly possible that it gets dismissed. I think that's probably unlikely, but we'll see. Um and on the on the competitors. I think one of the other key issue here will be well. What is this market? Who are Facebook's real competitors? Is there really a social media market that Just Facebook or their many other players. That's going to be a key issue and in the case Doesn't Facebook have other suits to worry about? Well, the main one really night. Now is this ftp case and the state cases? They're both, um, sort of running in parallel. Um, I think the fact that there are two cases gives the government in other states and the federal government to attempts at undoing these

"Need it. It's Kevin McCullough radio. All right, Kevin McCullough. Glad to be back with you. Just a final few minutes, eh, so that you can have a very successful Entertaining season. We've got the Super Bowl this weekend, the Daytona 500 next weekend. There may be people that are around your table that want to have good food for these fun events. And so honored to have been speaking this hour with you, Acheson because his his skill is legendary. He was, in fact, you I was talking about that going to the last break. Uhm when you were, uh, when, when you were the judged on top Chef Masters. You got a little taste of this. But when you were the actual that was when you were a contestant when you were an actual judge on top chef you were how you were tough. Me edited me is being brutally honest. Which is not a bad trip to have, but it could be a seemingly caustic it. No, no, I wouldn't go that far. But it was. You know, if they got a compliment from you, it was a well deserved one. Let's just put it that way. Yes. One last question about the restaurant business s O in here in New York. We've obviously had a really rough go of it for the restaurant tours and Lot of the restaurant tour is that you would probably even know personally David Burke and other people are personal friends, and it has been a really tough time for eateries across the country. What is your hope for 2021? In terms of what we're going to be able to do to get people back into our eateries and start toe? Live life a little bit more again? You know, I think the vaccine roll. I just need to go smoothly and then I think that we need to make sure that we're giving financial assistance to the really important part of our economy, which is in the bed in restaurants. Restaurants employ millions and millions and millions of people There are really, really important are part of the economy, and we didn't can't let them go away. I mean, they are our culture in so many ways. So we just have to support from New York with her, and any place that's cold in the winter has just got to get through winter. You know, it's just we They need assistance. Any good P p p money. They need Good. Um, you know But anyway that you can support a restaurant got and try and do it. Whether it's to go food right now are safe delivery or if you're up there doing in dining do that, But just do it safely and be smart before the places you love. Next time you're in Athens, Georgia. Visit is five and 10 of Empire State South or by George on, look up the seed life skills for your kids and figure out how you can be. Even better with family and consumer sciences in.

"97.9 FM HD too It's 6 23 on am Champa Bai and we're joined now by Jared Jillian, a financial analyst, and we want to take a look at the 2021. Economic picture what we're going to see happening in the future, and, um, Jared, I think you're predicting that because of the Because the covert 19 people are spending more money and going to spend like crazy, which means inflation is going to be going up. Yeah, we're gonna wait. We're gonna have lots of spending at the federal level. Uhm, you know Bernie Sanders is in charge of the budget committee, and he's pushed by very far to the left. And, um I'm going to use a process known as reconciliation. Word only requires 51 votes to push through economic legislation, and that's going to result in Ah, probably a bigger deficit than we saw last year. Last year, we had a deficit. 3.1 trillion This year. It's probably going to be even bigger. So yeah, there's gonna be lots of spending at the federal level lots of spending at the consumer level, and I do believe we're gonna see inflation get up to about three or 4% this year. Yeah, There's a lot of things where as far as the travel industry where it's pretty easy to travel if you want to during a pandemic, But looking ahead, a lot of people think. Well, maybe I could book by flights in the future for a lot cheaper. The only problem is it's hard to decide when to go and believe when things will be Safer during the pandemic here. So how are you seeing the prices impacted there as far as booking vacations in the future? Yeah, I mean, there's going to be an explosion of travel. Once most of the population is vaccinated. People are going to travel in unprecedented numbers. Uh, you know, flights are extraordinarily cheap. Right now. I recently got a first class ticket to Miami from Myrtle Beach for 480 bucks. That's a first class ticket. If you have the ability to plan right now, you can walk in some incredibly cheap rates. But the problem is is that we don't have the ability to plan I was supposed to take of vacation to Greece this summer. I'm not sure that I'm gonna get the back scene in time, so it makes it very difficult to plan. Yeah, and there might be some flight restrictions. Still at that point that might prevent you from one degrees. Yeah. I mean, I think as long as you have your vaccine paperwork, there was actually a neg Zeca tive order that was signed recently. That requires people to get a covert tests before coming back in the country. So it's still gonna be a huge hassle. One other quick thing here, and that is Joe Biden is pushing for the minimum wage all across the country to be $15. And that is downright stupid because $15 in some little rural part of Kansas has certainly different than $15 in New York City or Chicago or Miami. Yeah, I mean, the current federal minimum wage of $7.25. An hour was passed in 2008. And if you adjusted that for inflation to 2021, it would be worth about $10 an hour today what we should do. Is we should raise the minimum wage. I mean, cause I think the minimum wage is going to be a permanent feature of our economy. I disagree with it, but I don't think that we're going to get past her own economic illiteracy. I think we should raise the minimum wage to $10 an hour and then index it for inflation every year. Yeah, that makes all the sense in the world but still Given the $10 again in New York City is no big deal. But in Podunk, Iowa, it's a very big deal and It's gonna force People who lose their jobs and might even force him. Business is too close. It's just not a good idea. They've gotta understand this country is not all the same. Have three employees making $10 an hour and you make the minimum wage $15 an hour Now you have to fire one of those employees. John Sullivan is in jail at home now, so a judge has allowed him to return home, provided he stays within his home and has a bunch of other parameter credit to the prosecutors, the prosecutors said. We want him to Remain in jail. Is that correct? That is correct. Almost universally. Prosecutors were upset with the decision from this judge that allowed him to return to John Sullivan is currently not in prison, but he is awaiting His trial, and I guess he pled not guilty in his original indictment hearing. That's my guest. And so John Sullivan is not in jail where as many other people who participated were We don't know what that judge was thinking. But the prosecutors are pretty upset about that. However, there are many different actors and people involved as well as this guy that we talked about at the end of last hour by the name this is Alicia Po, who wrote this really? Fact, just a really well detailed article is really well done on DIT Is this guy here? Mike Dunn, who took credit for being involved that he had forces involved. Reveled in it. And so I love our listeners Hear the Charlie Kirk Show and Sic Semper tyrannis is what John Wilkes Booth yelled before. He shot Uhm Abraham Lincoln. And so thank you guys for reminding me of that. And I think that there was a Seinfeld episode about that at some point, but I could be totally wrong. Obviously not nearly as critical are important. Ls there a G? I think there was I think there was it was the guy that was stalking Elaine. Yeah, Yeah, that s so he did say that, okay, not nearly as important, but there's a lot of good history and Seinfeld that time's awesome television show s O this guy Mike done at the end of all of his communications signs, things saying, Sic semper tyrannis. Which I think is some form. I don't know what he means by that. But I think we know what he means by that, Which is that he's trying to say that he wants to see people in power no longer be living, which is a pretty disgusting, reprehensible, reprehensible thing. And he admits in his own social media posts that he goes to be alone protests. He goes to trump protest. He goes the gun protest, basically wherever there's a crowd. These guys go into it, and he said in his own parlor post, and he called Trump a tyrant's this guy, he said in his parlor, post quote. Any moment to use to throw middle finger to tyranny should be capitalized on yesterday when presented with that moment, undercover boys b o I s went toe work the hype up the people. Something that we thought, you know, might be happening that there was agitators there people screaming things. They're people that were saying things That otherwise wouldn't have been thought or said, but also in other people start to react to it. And there's a wonderful book. I kind of think of it came out in the 19 sixties was a psychological book, just observe, observing how people operate in crowds. It's phenomenal and actually and culture did a political book on this called demonic 10 years ago, and I'll get the right citations. If the names escape me, But basically, there's this. Really thoughtful psychological analysis that has been done that when you're in massive crowds, you actually can fall susceptible to doing things you never otherwise would have done in your own individual state, and so we'll get the right citations and stuff for that, anyway. So, he said, hype up the people working alongside of others. Last sons not being solely responsible for the events that took place. Ah, breach was made into the building, which is rightfully ours to walk in, as we please, because our taxes paid for it. Not the way that works. And so Mike Dunn eyes definitely putting himself out there, and he said that we won't bend fair game now. Feds drew first blood years ago on so he is going kind of on this continual narrative. And then he also posted on Twitter saying that he, he said, We were not Real Maga. We were infiltrators. That is what he responded to on Twitter. And so again, you kind of had this mess right of all sorts of different forces. Is that fair Isabel, different forces, different ideologies. Different reasons for being railroaded were just so many moving pieces, and I think ultimately it's going to take a lot of time to unpack what happened last Wednesday at the U. S Capitol. But Ainsley to answer your question. I think it's convenient for the media and certain political actors. Blanket coverage this as some form of white supremacy and white nationalism because it's scary, and it's effective to get people to be terrified of what happened last week and let me be clear what happened last week is not okay in any way, shape or form. We've been very clear about that for the last week and a half or so, but just to blatantly assume that all people were there to exercise some sort of motive that was driven by white supremacy or racial tension, I think is intellectually just not all there. There there. Some laziness to that argument exactly right, simply because there were so many groups president the captain. It's chaos. Right? It was. Okay, I am when you were at the University of Minnesota, where you a saint Paul guy, or were you a Minneapolis guy? Was Minneapolis guy, Okay, but The trick is The the I parked outside of the university undergraduate and graduate. And so the trick was to find your car in the winter. Yes, I remember. I don't know if that's more safe, Paul or Yeah, No. You know, I discovered when I moved there that it was like the defining hat in And Harry Potter that you drove around, and you either found that you were more comfortable on the Saint Paul side or on the Minneapolis side, and I was the same ball guy. It was, you know, you Minneapolis people. You are a little flashy for me, So that's what I learned early are not known to be flashing. Well, that's why it's relative, right. I mean, that's why it stands out those shiny buildings on the Minneapolis side as opposed to the old city of the east of the Saint Paul side. Listen, I so much enjoyed reading your book, and I I think there's so many different ways that we can get into this subject. And so I was sort of looking at what my door Woz And I have to say so. I'll just preface this by saying part of my curiosity has always been Trying to figure out why I'm so happy. Not why I'm unhappy or why I can't get happy. I've I've always been kind of convicts. People comment. My wife comments on it all the time. I just have a higher resting place of happiness. And I couldn't tell you why, Um and maybe it's a little bit of faith, and there may be its birth order. Maybe it's whatever I don't know. I can't figure it out. I just know that's how I spend my day. And so I wonder what your what was your Approach when you were trying to figure out happiness if you looked at it through the lens of your own experience as a human being on this planet. Well, number one. I think the most important thing is To learn to appreciate everything. And two Practice gratitude. Now, that's you know, it's been written about a great deal, but there's a huge Body of research of what happens with the brain when you scan for positives. Rather than just dealing with You know the challenges that we have. I mean, right now, probably more so than you know, several decades. We've got things they're kind of mess. But we're going to recover from that. The trick is to Scan for what is meaningful to you and appreciate what that is. And so let's stay with the you know the challenges with covert and with political situations. They're you know, they're challenging. Certainly, But if you think about what is it that is truly going to make you happy. It's being appreciative. Of what you do have And, um And then that's why you you, you know in other books, too, talking about gratitude list, but it's a huge thing, because when you start appreciating Everything. Um It changes your brain chemistry, actually, and so that you more resilient. And you're not as affected by these situational fluctuations. Um The going back to Minnesota. He, You know, certain times, it would get down to you know, 30 degrees below zero. And you get three years and it could be it could be minus 50 it? Yeah, that was just aired. Temperature was like negative 25 not including windshield factor, right? I know it's just totally crazy. There was another planet. Was weird. Yeah, And so, uh, I did. Finally, uh, after trying to find my car many times and snowdrifts I do live in like, uh yeah, E saw the shift every day now. Yeah, but okay, so I'm not a psychologist, But if I were, I would say part of that answer to me. I would say you're deflecting. Or maybe you just forgot about it, cause I want to know like where you personally are. When you approach a subject like happiness, do you come at it from the standpoint of you want to figure out what could make you happy your or let me Okay. Well, that's what I'm getting it. So we're Where were you when you first started looking into this research in terms of your own personal experience? Well, the I started out Number one. I don't particularly like writing. But I'm more interpersonal. I like people. Most psychologists are not known for. Having a sense of humor I hopefully have yet. Well, I think you've already demonstrated that you're good. Don't work. Yes. I'm not at least.

We cannot say he hasn't But there's so many times and instances that Bill Bar has let me down and let you down and let the community the country down. Days of siege went on, and eventually he was walked off the mountain and not killed And it was interesting cause there was civil litigation against Um, the federal law enforcement involved. He ultimately was only convicted of the original weapons charge. Not anything else. He was charged with murder. Based on the federal agents, agents being killed there on the mountain, acquitted of all of that and got 18 months in jail on the original weapons charge, Uhm notwithstanding what I think which should have been a pretty good Uh, argument that That he was conned into violating the law and then trapped for that reason. It's just not, um it's a simple truth of things because the N F A has gotten so convoluted. I'm going to go through the particulars of this later in the show that it makes no sense. And what they want to make illegal under this current discussion of pistol braces. If you go back to your original intent of the NFL, they said, Well, these these monsters, she's mafiosos could have these ultra dangerous weapons that they can make smaller by chopping down the barrels or making them concealable. That was the big concern. There was a category of benefit regulated firearms. They couldn't describe any other way. For him that Sean trendy, however, Meyer and Welcome to double Yes, while trendy wrote while a trendy wrote is true, you right? There's also an opposite reaction. Can you please explain for our listeners here in Chicago? Well, the opposite reaction is Republican that admit that they personally despised the man. What they're voting for him anyway, because they like his policies they consider Trump as the only alternative between basically in America that is slipping away. And will go towards socialism will go towards the loony left where values voters will even have a voice anymore. And Trump is their last hope, even though many of them just don't like the way he comports himself. Do you think that the majority of Republicans have that dystopian view of the future under Joe buying that we will disintegrate in the chaos and socialism or worse? Absolutely so much so that I have been bombarded with Republicans and Christian Republicans sending out massive emails saying that don't pay attention to the personality only pay attention to the issues that seems to be the mantra. And in fact, the other mantra Here is your house is on fire. Do you care if the fireman's a jerk because they realized that that they believe this is the final stand and that our country is going towards Socialism. Liberalism. You know, the end of, you know, values, traditional Christian values. And there is such a great year. If Christians you mentioned religious Americans who communicated with you, Maira, you know, Joe Biden, by all accounts, is a practicing. Catholic where Donald Trump when you look at his personal history is anything but religious. I don't quite know how they can hits that way into their trains. So to speak. Isn't that an interesting conundrum? It is so fascinating to me. Uh and it has to do again. What I'm saying is fear. Trump represents of them. The last hope and in my piece I had actually Had done reported some comment actually got even comments. Uhm Ji knows that I had gotten from some readers and many of them, you know, said such things that just capitalize what exactly is going on? And you know, basically what they're saying is that he will fight for my rights. He's demonstrated a willingness to do so. That's why I'm voting for him. I could look, I can overlook everything else because it's like he is the last hope. Let's look, Let's stop there and double down on that, Myra. We're talking to Myra Adams here. A terrific writer. I saw this said real clear politics dot com and again just to go back to my point. You know, American history is filled with If you look at America like an old grandfather clock, the pendulum has swung to the right and swung to the left. Then back to the right then back to the left. And the idea is with the peaceful transfer of power between for lack of a better descriptor. Conservatives and liberals the right and the left the fact you don't want the pendulum to break the clock. I? I don't see Joe Biden or the Democrats taking over the White House has end of days. Why do so many people feel that way? Have they been sold this bill of goods? What makes me unable to see it? Won't listen to President Trump. Yeah, but I don't. I don't think Donald Trump is reliable Has somebody to listen to? Well, then you're not a Maga hat rally attending their Republicans. Because those that are They take what he says at his word. They also believe that if he doesn't win, then the election will be rigged. They believe that voting by mail is fraud is going to end up with a fraudulent result. There are people out there that literally collision to every single thing, he says, and actually take it and believe it. It's sad. How many millions of people are like that. Talking with Meyer Adams. He's a contributed really clear politics have been involved in politics for quite a while. She was on the McCain Ad council, also part of the 2004 Bush campaign. Meyer take my listeners to your analogy off, and I thought this was just brilliant part of your piece. Who would you rather have a beer with and let's start with the 2000 for? I guess that would have been Carrie and George W. Bush. And, of course, Bush like a lot of guys, Romney and Trump, they don't drink. Right? They don't drink. But it was more just the concept of like a bill with the given away for pulses to judge really isolating the way likability. Who would you rather sit down and have a beer with and didn't make a difference at those three? Romney, Bush and Trump don't even drink, but it's more like, you know, kind of buddy kind of buddy buddy. And it is interesting that this time I did a search and I couldn't find any of any real official pollster that even ask that question When we think of that question. Who do you want to have a beer with one of those questions that you know you'd think you'd see it everywhere. But in fact, the last time I actually saw those exact words or in a Rasmussen poll in 2016, Maybe as you pointed out my room. Maybe we're beyond that at this point. If the world is going to end on November, 4th with either a blue wave or a red wave or what, have you We're not going to be sitting down and having a beer with anybody anytime soon, anyway. Well and that And I think it also speaks to the fact that even though people don't like trump, they're voting for him anyway. I mean, I literally had a friend that had been a party like two weeks ago. Actually, a party of four people, um said, you know, I don't like him, but I'm gonna hold my nose and vote for him. And this is a business owner in a swing state and In fact, I even mentioned that that line in my piece because I think that represents the way so many Republicans think they don't think Biden presents an alternative and that is really the difference is such a stark contrast between the vision the two visions of America that Republican fee That buying represents versus what Trump represents and would buy the represents. Is socialism. Loony left Christian America slipping away and you know they will never have. We'll never get our nation back. I mean, that's that's the fear.
