You say that would be a tough loss for conference to say and then you're going to go after so mountain west teams because if you look at it maybe the mountain west is going to be the biggest threat to the american and the rest of us the group of five even though the american likes to call themselves a power. "John real quick. Yes name me. One thing that's a tribal lend. That's bad no no many things. Yeah i mean like the eagles offense. Traveling roddy with jalen hurts. Throwing jalen hurts running with miles sanders. It's all good. Who was on. Jalen hurts being grey drift. Pick you are calling. Damn i feel good. I well i did. They were it was still been you guys. Were them at the time. But i didn't realize carson wentz would be a colossal failure a coward. Thank god we got. I mean howie roseman. He stumbles into good draft picks. They missed their first rounder. Andre dillard they hit with a seventh rounder guy who's never played football and we should have been a scams going on diller. When he talked about coach leach yes so he's to pay. Don't go after her. Pack up left tackle kobe. We've got the eagles realize you build through the offensive line. Unlike some teams and i needed to save. You may be the dragons who Shattered through ever since that. They have like a sideline dragon mascot that earned like i describe it. Maybe it's a mass someone rocks. It's pretty awesome. Uab laying twelve as they head. Denton texas. The square off against north texas was reading the uab coaches Interview talking about. Hey we know this could be a super bowl spot. Possibly four texas or sorry for north texas. They run an uptempo offense. They do have a new defensive coordinator. What do you think about. Uab twelve point road favorite. Colby i love the uab spot here. I look Coming off that. Ask kicking against georgia worried. They got beat up a little bit. Sometimes we like to fade teams after they take the best thing to do is play north texas because they have a horrible run diva machine. Uab and by the way uab georgia was a bad match from the start. Uab's a conservative run. Heavy team at does not work against georgia. Much eastern michigan against wisconsin. Now you play north texas. That is one of the worst rushing defenses. You know year. After year. I feel like. Uab is going to have their opportunities on the ground. Got three or four good capable running backs And then you have. You played good defense. And i think they'll have opportunity north texas. They run the air raid. They can score some points. But i think. Uab makes enough plays. I think they win. Big i think they win by like twenty six twenty seven points pretty cool they name the dragon cisco right unleash the dragon. No i think. I think i like koby's handicap the game. Uab got their ass kicked by georgia. Now i'm worried. It is a little bit up spot for north texas and it's going to be what six thirty texas time. Maybe maybe they really will. This is like the home dog nightspot. Can i draw your attention to sean. I i'm sure you're aware of this at this point but you see what's happened here colby Maybe not feeling super confident after the long drawn out tiring week in vegas but this feels like old school colby just laying shock all over the place six pack. I went six favorites. Okay yes and what was your record born to mary. You go so. I was also. I'm just saying you're right. You mentioned it as a super bowl spot for north texas and the fact that they are playing this at night now they think about a more. I'll give you the home dog getting up for this game. Twelve is an interesting number two. Pick but i mean. Uab is the better team but Yeah twelve point home dog at night game now. I didn't mean for you to flip your pick right here. No i i just wanted to bring up before you picked because i north texas one of the worst teams well because i like some other favorites. That co i see. Yeah you wanna you want to save my favorite low joe for other. I'll be honest. I actually loved a couple of the top twenty five games thrown in the six pack but a new covering them. Anyway yeah welcome to. Uab is saying uab will curve all right uab inside going back all right i. I'm not i in the bottom eleven of football outsiders college rankings and to the point that we have a clearly have seen at this point georgia. I absolutely locked down. Maybe the best defense in the nation They've now locked down everyone. They've played and i just think you know that was just a nightmare. Matchup schematics shutdown clemson. Yeah i mean you really take so yeah. let's let's say the points But we have to be cautious. Because i think colby's rolling out six favorites. Oh i know kobe's heads at two lane. The green wave heads to oxford mississippi. Where right now to lane is catching fourteen points against old. Miss old miss minus six fifty on the money line. Total sitting in a whopping seventy four to lane plus four sixty on the money line. Old miss destroyed us and p. a. last week it's tough opponent. Yeah well come on. No need to disparage my governors and heisman ticket. We have in our pocket at forty two one Not the worst. That's you need a pet some stats. That's a nice border battle between ohio. And ole miss or mississippi. There are you making. Kobe hates Games that have no tradition or geographic team. Just play. if you're going to do it play one right there up. The road doesn't make any sense. Some reasoning so. What are you on here. Are you taking old miss. No i'm all over to lane i'm also onto lane. Look to lane pro. Might have beat oklahoma. Had that game been new orleans like we're supposed to Michael pratt is a difference maker. I really i really. Fritz is one of the most underrated coaches in america and to be honest louisville. Didn't look great last week against eastern kentucky and fcs team. So maybe maybe that win against louisville doesn't mean much Give me two lane. Plus the fourteen and i think this could be a game. Yeah i like two lanes offense obviously to send this point total so high but they also played pretty good defense against oklahoma again like you pointed out at a neutral field. I just don't see how this game is going to be moved out to norman. They moved to norman. So that was all your home. High had it neutral. So yeah gimme two lane plus fourteen. I mean it's. It's the same story in the handicap here is. Do you feel good laying. Fourteen points against the decent team with this team. No you can't at this point we can't we can't lay the points so we'll take the points i mean either to land could be a player in the afc. Isn't this one. Even if they get blown out or they're losing by three scores like the back door will be open the back door again. And even though they're gimmicky points. I think to lane can get some gimmicky point saying michael pratt threw for three hundred against the oklahoma three touchdowns. I mean that a boss..

"And the governor's Office of Highway Safety. The governor's Office of Highway Safety reminds you that the penalty for getting a d U, I can cost up to $10,000. That's why the governor's Office of Highway Safety says Dr Sober so you won't get pulled over waiting for D. J. Shockley and Coach Kirby Smart and the victorious Georgia locker room. Dogs improved too. And, oh, they're number two ranking. Unlikely to be affected. Third ranked Ohio State lost at home today at the shoe to number 11 Oregon Final score. There was 35 to 28 top ranked Alabama is rolling over Mercer right now. Notre Dame eat one out at home against Toledo. Of all people will keep you up to date with scores as we here and we're back with Scott Howard. Eric Zeier shocks downstairs. Adam Gillespie is actual And you're all buddy Honda Hear on the radio explosive was the word for our offense today, 70 DS, six of them through the air 539 yards of total offense. Eric Zeier When we're talking about an offense like that, and Stetson Bennett and the big plays, I mean, one point Scott looked at me and goes. I think we just had two touchdowns for it over and to place for 150 yards has a little Yeah, right about right about that. We had to one play, Uh, touchdown drives back to back possessions. Uh, you know, one like 61 1 89, I think were the two scores to, uh to Brock powers and who was the other one to, uh, areas Smith? There is, uh I mean, you know, just just getting the job done. You like what you see from an offensive standpoint, and you had the personnel to beat the defense and then Georgia didn't waste any time and getting it done the that those came on the heel. Heels of a 73 yard touchdown pass to German burden and a 12 yard TD pass that went to Kenny Macintosh and give some credit here to coach Monken as well, well designed football plays on all of those touchdown passes. We were running. Right there. We didn't have a UAB defender within 10 yards of us on on every one of those plays. What was the wheel route? Others were were just take off that a different, uh, different formations. Great job by coach Monken and the offensive staff. Great job of execution by Stetson Bennett, of course, by the receivers, well thrown footballs well protected. It was again they'll call was we're going to get more explosive. And did we ever you know when we used to play Gus smells on A lot. There are a lot of times where we talked about the first quarter in the first couple of drives, getting adjusted to what Gus was going to pull out of his pull out of his hat that day Z. That's what that kind of reminded me of out here in the first quarter for Georgia first 20 minutes of the game or so that the Blazers were confused. They didn't know where they were running, said they had no idea what would hit him a lot of different formations. And look, we haven't shown that You know, we come out of Clemson, where we really played it close to the vest and a lot of guys that were injured. Get a few of them back, but really we we let our athletes lose today. Um, and you're right. You A B, Their head was on a swivel. They didn't know which way we were coming out of. Scott Stetson Bennett five TD passes today Ties to Georgia record held by six other players. One of my favorite lines of the entire day was me asking D. J. Shockley. Hey, Do you remember that game when you do against Boise State? He's like, Yeah, yeah, of course I do yet, dummy, but That's really quite an impressive performance and some heady company that Stetson joined today. Yeah, you felt comfortable with with the veteran in there. He had five starts last year, gets his first this season in this situation today and sets a personal best 288 yards passing. Is a new high for for Stetson. You only threw the ball 12 times completed 10 of those but 288 yards and five TDs. I mean, they were just picking people apart, left and right on the long ball today and You know, That was one of the questions about Bennett last season. Uh, can he throw the deep ball you know we had. I think there were some times last season. We had receivers possibly, you know, outrunning his throws, having to kind of come back. Didn't see that much at all today. Maybe maybe one time that I can recall Arian Smith, who's You know, might be the fastest guy of 92,000 people here in the stadium. He had to slow down for a long ball in one attempt. But most of the other ones, you know, Bennett was right on target hitting guys and stride, throwing good long balls and then you know, we had a lot of run after the catch to in some circumstance, but Stetson played very well. And you know that's what you want from your veteran backup quarterback on your staff, and and he really gave Georgia everything he could. Today. You are modest about your speed to say that area's fastest. That's right. Well, second fast, second fastest in the stadium. That's right. Uh, Eric Zeier today Russian game. Really? I couldn't get off the dime too much couldn't get off the snide but But well, you know, Listen, You're not going to complain about 56 points. But if you're going to pick anything, it was that u A B was pretty consistently in the offensive backfield. They were doing a good job up front, creating pressure disrupting our our plays right from the right from the jump. So, uh, not our best job on the ground. By any stretch of imagination. You're not going to complain about it too much, but definitely when we were When these coaches get in the film room, and they started meeting with the team this week, it will be a point of emphasis for us to be well rounded. We've got to be able to do both right. We open it up on the In the passing game. Definitely want to get a bigger and better, more physical push at the line of scrimmage, though, as they always fabulous, Mrs Honda says. Eric Zeier is Washington completely different game that you are, honey, and you are watching different games. Did you baby sell out today against the run? I mean, you know, did they just say we're not going to give up the run and make a beat us with the past, which obviously we did. It was a lot. It was a lot of single safety. Hence the reason that we had Um, you know so many opportunities to take shots downfield, but really what was disrupting that wasn't pressure. It wasn't an all out..

"In the top one hundred and from one. Oh one down the bottom thirty. You have western kentucky. Southern miss rice middle tennessee charlotte. Fau north texas. Utah up and old. Dominion you have nine teams in the bottom thirty. You have two teams and the bottom ten. You have a problem and conference. Usa bottom twenty the bottom twenty you have seven teams in the bottom twenty not a good look for conference usa. It's going to be hard to make a case for the top teams in conference usa if things go as planned because of the bottom teams. And that's where you a b marshall you get you. Tsa rising you hope. Louisiana tech can be a riser. You hope fa you can be a riser. You hope that these top teams can rise and maybe pull up the rest of conference you say but that's going to be the problem here because you could win it side and you look at uab schedule and you go okay. That's great look at their opponents. We'll at their conference schedule. Which they can't do anything about same thing with marshall it behooves marshall to have a good fau. It behooves. marshall that western is good. It behooves marshall to have middle and charlotte f. I you good and old. Dominion you want old dominion to do well and so when you play your non conference schedule if appalachian state your highest ranked opponent outside of uab. Because you're hoping you see you a. b. again right you hope you see. Uab again you want to see you. You want to get to that championship game. And they're they are uab you you want to get that taste out of your mouth right bright. Yeah you do you want to get that taste out of your mouth quickly and so how you do that because you're supposed to win against nc central and you have a shot if you go with the numbers against navy in east carolina and appalachian state is gonna be a tough one right so you help. They're good and you get a win there. And then you're going to play a middle tennessee. Which is bottom twenty here. Old dominion next to the bottom. Then you got nor taxes which they're pretty good and my mind but they're considered one eighteen and then you f- i you which is one seventeen and get fau which is eighty seven th year. So you're getting better. It's tougher and then you.

The schools do what they do. They're happy to do what they do. And how they do it as far as institutions as administrators as programs. I don't see mac being impacted by any of this but conference. Usa might american definitely will be the sun belt. Death definitely will be. What's going to happen here. What we're gonna amount west any poaching going on there but we're going to look at this as far as what realistically could happen. Where would you like to see. Marshall as for as a realignment would you look see conference usa start maybe getting a little aggressive john conference to us a break off into a couple of different leagues. You have more of a eastern leaning league and western leaning league. How do you see this coming about here. I would like to see a little bit more of a league with geography. And i'm going to tell you up front now whatever league marshals in on what. Uab there what uab in that league. Whatever happens. I want marshall and uab together. That's a straight pairing. "Nine thirty. Today's the day we get in the start of watch lists everybody's making a list preseason list. This is really when it starts to kill you. Get the publications. Of course you got at the mall and yet lindy phil steele. You got all of those publications and those are great. But here's where we start to kind of get a feel for what the coaches are thinking. What members of the media are thinking. i did not have a vote in this so do not believe me if you do not like the order. I am not responsible for this list but the east division and west division order of finish. It's out marshall among the favorites to win conference. Usa and east vision martial receiving seventeen. First place votes. And if you look at where marshall stacks up compared to the rest of the east division. You'll see that. Fa you've got six votes and western kentucky got one first place vote. So here's what it looks like from bottom to top. It's old dominion at seven then f. i. u. is six middle. Tennessee is fit. Shirley comes in at four and then western kentucky is mentioned with one first place. Vote comes in at three. Fau with two. I'm sorry at you at two with six votes. And then marshall coming in with seventeen votes seventeen votes. They are the odds on favourite to win the east division now. Uab they're the team picked. That's right there. The team to pick because they of course are your raining. Defending conference usa champion and they own the west division right now it was. Uab with fifteen first place votes and then utsa comes in second with nine and then louisiana tech at third so miss at four rice coming in five north texas at six and then you tip coming in at seven kind of curious. How does that compare to a couple of things we were looking at you know. We looked at the college football news. Rankings the other day and those were important because this is sort of an idea of where some of these teams were nationally and this is outside of the conference. Usa media this conference usa media says but west division champ uab east division champ marshall uab in college. Football news rankings Eighty second marshall ninety two and the college football news rankings within western kentucky is rated a little higher.

That's why it has taken a lot of time in the. Us is or that reason but now the technology has came so much farther that it's being more accepted in the us and the fa is literally changing. I don't wanna say changing the rules. They're adjusting on a daily basis and adapting as more. Uab's route there. So what are you talking about. The technology improving you talking about like the ability for that thing to fly itself the automation of it. The batteries the controller every bit of it is improving on a daily basis now with automated technology. You said after flight plan. Do your mission planning that. It's the launch and it will off our application. Notable Developments on the College Basketball Coaching Carousel Scuttlebutt

"A lot of movement on the coaching carousel. Over the past couple of days the big. One of course was indiana firing archie miller. After four seasons. We talked about that on a previous podcast. So go find it. We're not going to spend any time on that here but let me walk you through the other notable developments richard patino out at minnesota and as up tuesday morning. He's the new coach at new mexico. State has quote parted ways with steve. Prohm depaul finally took. Dave laid off the hot seat list. Boston college hired earl. Grant penn state hired mike castrucci berry dead leg spin a pretty good right now. It's spinning man. Yeah listen we give the. We are gearing up for this tournament. We got we got more than forty eight hours till. We're gonna tip the first game here so as expected. We've had some movement on the carousel. So we'll let's get into a little bit of this This scuttle but here kind of take it job by job. Best job openings indiana. Let's kind of go in order. I guess second best job. That's open. I would say iowa state is a better job than minnesota steve. Prohm gets fired late monday night. His jamie pollard was on the selection committee so he traveled back as he should have to meet with promo person and do what he what needed to be done You and i both seven the podcast in january. We expected steve prone to return next season. But we also didn't expect iowa state to never win a game like he just got to an irreversible point. so he's done. He put out a classy statement on tuesday morning. And i don't know whether or not steve prohm will land somewhere else head. Coaching position this coaching cycle but he will be a head coach again. He did take iowa state to three inch tournaments he was really good prior to that at murray state and certainly qualified for. It's just a matter of Is there anything out there. That he would be offered or anything out there that he would want as for the job. The candidates we're early. But i'm told that this is certainly a coach that you know quite well as well i'm told jamie pollard definitely will be considering. Unlv head coach. Tj burger near the top of his list. I can't say that he is the favorite. I just think that it's objectively true. That tj also burger will be under consideration for the iowa state job along the likes of. You're going to hear puerto moser connected to multiple jobs on this podcast because let's face it especially if he wins at least one tournament game. He's just a hot name. And he's going to be attached to iowa st paul minnesota. I i don't know if you'd be a favorite for state. But i think his name makes sense. I think utah. State's craig smith might make sense and then a high. I do have a wildcard one. Uab's andy kennedy has gone to the sec. Good job at ole miss. He's just one year and at uab but he had he had a really good year. In fact i think he won more games in his first season. This past season than just about anyone. Maybe all of all of the first year coach coaches. So i think that's a fact no first year coach at a new program. One more games this season than ak i. It's just i'm lobbying out. There is a name that should be considered. And then i did see fran for shila tweet this and i do. I do think there's something to it. Like a baylor is a one seed could be in the final four. Hey first time since bill henderson all that good stuff tang is a is a high level power conference assistant that is deserving of an opportunity would come at a power conference level. I don't know. But i think it's only a matter of time before jerome tank. Its job as well. So i'm just tossing him in knows the league as potentially someone that They should consider or at least at the very least interview sets an initial pool of

Overwatch League Releases New Format, Schedule for 2021

"Quite a few changes for the league that likely at the toughest twenty-twenty seeing multiple players retire in entire roster is being dropped to cut costs and stagnant viewership while the o w l sister lead. The CDL has actually just kicked off the o w l won't start up until April 16th the goal I think was way out ahead of the covid-19 demek and what we won't be entirely Out of the Woods by April things are actually trending pretty quickly in the right direction. Thank God still the owner of the wall is putting forth a hybrid format that can be played online or in physical locations first off instead of a regular season format like traditional Sports b o w l will be following the CDL into a more tournament based regular-season structure. The structure will feature three weeks of qualifiers, then a mid-season tournament repeated 4 times. So to make that more clear the weekends of April 16th, April 23rd, and April 29th will be the first qualifiers then the first name Tournament will be the main melee on May 7th that schedule repeats through May June July and August. Each tournament has kind of a silly name may may lay is fine. Even if it's a little bit hard to say. Some people might assume to Smash Bros event. There's also the summer Showdown and the countdown cup which are both solid alliterations will give you that but they really Force the alliteration with the June just like white jesting. I don't think it makes sense names aside. This format will likely be easier to follow for fans on YouTube you sports events do well when they crowned some sort of champion at the end of it. Only League of Legends has really been successful creating a regular season format in Esports the c d l o w l and even our LCS have all abandoned their attempts to do so in the last one or two years this year will also see three Western o w l teams competed in Asia the Valiant fusion and New York Excelsior are all moving operations to Asia for this year that brings the divisions to 8 Eastern teams and 12 Western ones. Mid-season tournament will feature both East and West teams, they will start online but will actually compete in Hawaii once they're able to resume safely talk to UAB. I do renounce any critiques of the o w l if you invite me to a mid-season tournament in Hawaii, but I reserve the right to make fun of the name June just I'm just putting that out there right now. And the last thing to talk about with the new schedule is the price full up. Once again this year crossing the song million dollar Mark over all events Grand Champions will get a share of one point five million. But with the o w l the price still feels kind of weird, right like every team paid at least twenty million dollars in often month to even compete in this league at all. Sure splitting for a million is nice but teamed invested a whole lot more to even be in the league having a chance to win a mill back feels different from prizes and leagues that don't cost money millions of dollars to enter But ultimately the o w l can still be successful. Even if it's been pretty Doom and Gloom for a while now, they just have to keep growing in China last year a be reported in ama of birth. 1 million viewers for the playoffs the majority of which are in China. Former Producer and Program Director at WJOX, Pat Smith, Reminisces About the Show's Infancy

"Pat is The program director. W j. o. x. and of course he He's part of the global system trouble. I'm as i've assisted. Pd in co host. Because our good friend ryan heins program. I i'm always thinking. I had but i apologize but i'm always trying to to do things that i'm not supposed to be doing but it's really good to have you those days. I wanna i wanna go back. Because i ended up moving to a station where you. I think you were an intern But it wasn't too long after that that that you became a producer on the program. And i'm gonna let you kind of tell the story of how all of that ended up to where we are. Now oh wow Kind of a cliff. Notes version Basically like you said you're at another radio station. I think your contract had had come up and and you had Looked elsewhere and i happened to be at a news. Talk station which the sports talk. Show followed rush limbaugh's program and all the sudden you showed up Along with bob walked me at the radio station on that On that fateful I think it was a friday night after had done a show and then Just so happens. You guys came on the air on monday. I happened to be at the right place at the right time. And i was finishing up school at uab. And and you know you. And i developed a quick relationship and and decided from that point in time to kind of try to take the show to the next level and a few years later were able to get syndicated throughout the state of alabama and then mayor obviously sirius xm and then ultimately espn and where you are today at the sec network so just very blessed to be part of it from day one. I want to go back to that moment. Where we were on the affiliate in we are on the station in birmingham. And and you really started thinking You know bigger picture. I i was. I was at the time doing local television. I was still riding a newspaper on. So i i wasn't that the forward thinking but You thought to show could go beyond that area and what was so interesting about it. Is that once. it did There were a lot of people that that thought. Your idea was was insane. Now you're right You know it's so hard and difficult to tell people about this. Because i remember paul when the fax machine became you know a prevalent thing and offices and i never forget when we started getting stuff backs to us like before you came to the radio station because typically you would either be at the newspaper finishing up a column ridgetop by tv station. Then he committed the radio show and people around the south east would be faxing us newspaper articles because we didn't have internet internet was not invented yet. And so it was fascinating for us to be able to to get information from outside of the state of alabama and so that kind of up some different topics that we could do on the show and the one that started thinking. Well you know what you know. People outside of birmingham. We're on a five. Thousand watt am radio station and more people need to hear this program because we're inundated by voicemails and people you know would communicate with us anyway. They could until it's how much they love the show and more and more of the show and so at the time was able to go to to management and and pitch the idea of potentially getting on a few stations in the state of alabama. And that just kind of steamrolled and for many many years we kept adding stations and at one point we had. I believe in the mid thirties before we got on sirius. Xm so it was just a it was a great time in radio and we were very fortunate to have the people that believed in us. Just like you believed in the idea. So it will. And i'm gonna come back to some of the early stories but but i think for i want you to comment on this. I'll never forget. I was in pasadena We're actually newport together for the rose bowl national championship game between alabama and texas. And because i think a an illness in your family with I think your wife's mother or something you weren't able to make the trip and called me out there and you told me that You had gotten a call from somebody at sirius. Xm and i really. I thought you were kidding Because they wanted to run the show as a regular in an in an afternoon time slot in. And i want you to go back to that moment because there was a buzz around our Our crew at the time. And we you know. We have a fairly big crew now because of television and radio. I don't know if even matches the number of people that you had working with that particular moment in time. Because they were they were producers. They were Exa- they were assistant producer. They're dedicated phone. Screeners that That had their own contracts. But i did but i mean would you would. You agree That was the moment that things really started to change. No there's no question about that. And i'm glad that you wanted me to tell about this out of the story because i thought you were going to publicly remained me again for putting you outside the rose bowl at a outside party music. Play okay No no i was. I got i gotta call the blue Someone that are not you know. Never heard of before and they just said you know we'd love to show We want to talk to you about this show going. You know. Nationwide siriusxm You guys be interested in that. And i are you kidding me absolutely and then i remember calling you in pasadena and said you'll never believe this phone call and of course a lot of times like you would whether i'd call you and say hey. We got this coach on today or we got this happening today or whatever the case may be you know you a would you know i can picture you rolling your eyes going. Yeah whatever you know but then it finally sunk in it. You know. Once i told you exactly the full conversation and i think at that point in time you realized that we had we had a bigger entity on our hands than we thought. We did back then

"By the way watching the canes it's all about you baby thirty, one, fourteen struggling. If you ask me with UAB now, they're gonNA win the game right but there's just under six minutes to go. Yeah. They'RE GONNA win the game but not the way they should win the game. Let's be fair. Dates win by thirty. We said it today. Should win by thirty and there was a game that I'm sitting here sweating out sweating out that number. And you know what's funny is that UAB's got the ball and they're moving the ball on Miami. They just threw a twenty five yard for a first down. I mean it is unbelievable. They are so bad. It is beyond me how bad Miami is I don't care. You cannot tell me. That beating UAB thirty, one fourteen is good enough. When you say you do you remember when they used to play Miami is to have a schedule where they played at one cream puff at the beginning of the season first game they went sixty six to nothing. I. Mean the other team wouldn't even score. Now they play cranberries and they give up touchdowns left and right. It doesn't matter who they play everyone that that plays Miami's in the game.

"Now, we basically were told. Which was the UAB was fired from Orion soil. And it was in international waters. Now are saying that it was not an international waters was in their space. And they have sent a letter to the UN Security Council with their defense, saying and their evidence showing in their airspace. Now, important to remember, Tony, how narrow Hormuz it's only about twenty nine nautical miles at one of its narrowest point, sixty miles at its at its broadest. Drone was flying at approximately twenty one miles from the nearest point of land, but it was shot down. The Iranian say they have evidence and impact today tweeted out coordinates to say that it was nine and a half miles from Iran's land border when it was shot down. Now there are a lot of questions here, the president teaming league giving them an out saying it was unintentional, but the audience or say, no, this wasn't intentional because you are airspace border. We all heard the soundbite that's been playing the president all day long about it was a big big mistake, but then he went on to say, maybe it was a mistake. And he thought it was hard to believe that they would have done this intentionally as you said, trying to give them an out. President also says that we the United States have scientific proof that it was international airspace. Yeah. And Iran and say they have scientific proof. And that's why they tweeted out coordinates and sent their evidence to the UN Security Council. But what's really interesting here is what members. On Capitol Hill are saying they do not have an appetite for whatsoever. They're really urging restraint I should say, all, but perhaps Lindsey Graham, which is interesting. Considering how close he is to the president. He said that he believes that the president's trying to avoid conflict, but he also called a defining moment for him comparing this moment to an Obama issued that red line for a sod and chemical weapons on Capitol Hill. Most members, we speak to say that there's no appetite for war there, instead or djing, an increase ramp up of pressure of tougher sanctions and things of that nature. For lack of a better word Lindsey Graham's comments were pretty aggressive now. What about this sale of arms to the Saudis? What's going on with that? And what happened because it's related and not related to Iran. Right. So the president used an emergency declaration to sell eight billion dollar arms to Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, citing the emergency with Iran senators, though, have grown frustrated with the administration's use of emergency power to essentially. Undercut lawmakers when it comes to national security decisions normally you need the congress to be part of those arms sales. So they've overturn that sell fifty three to forty five multiple Republicans crossing over to vote with Democrats, including Lindsey Graham, in fact, but even though that passing the Senate and will likely pass in the house. The president has already issued a veto threat and it doesn't look like they have that veto override majority. All right. Well, perhaps, tomorrow will be a more exciting or eventful Friday than typically as their capital. Thank you. Have a good one. All right, six thirteen news ninety six point five WDBO. "He is. So great at brainwashing. I mean he is the epitome of a great hypnotist or brain washer because he gets his team and his fan base in his staff in everybody around him to buy in to his message. His single voice is one voice message. And he is it hasn't mourn, thin, and that to me is prising, I thought after three or four seasons of hearing, these same kinds of things year in year out, it would have worn thin, but as of this moment, it's still hasn't. Then the other thing I talk about is how saving ruined sports coverage in Alabama. And I mean that in the most complementary way possible, maybe four he arrived in Tuscaloosa, all of the other local school. UAB Sanford, Jacksonville state all got more coverage before he got into town. The sports reporters worked to find the interesting local stories at one time, you know, I excelled at telly, but because saving such dynamic personality who command so much attention because his teams have been so Oltra successful, you know, every television station, sports cast revolved around him and his team for the majority of the year we become obsessed with recruiting and signing day in spring practice preseason practice. The combine the NFL draft anytime you had a speaking against it or a public appearance, we'd have to rearrange schedules to make sure got covered, and when he played golf in charity of any held court, and I you know enough already. I mean, how many times can you say the same thing, and try to sell that to your viewers something different and new, it became very burdensome. In on that front and you mentioned crossing him early on. What was the challenge of trying to follow the quote unquote brainwashing of Nick Sabin, because there's a lot of money at stake for TV station of suddenly everyone starts complaining that the local guy is anti Nick Sabin, or anti alabam, which I know you weren't. Yeah. No, I never tried to be anti-albanian or anti Nick saving. I was criticized evenly. I think by both sides, Auburn in Alabama. So I must have been doing my job. But I think people watch television for a couple of reasons I think one, they may watch because the anchors are really good-looking. Well, we know with me that wasn't the case. So another reason they might watch TV is to get a certain amount of information. Well, obviously, but in a market like this everybody's covering the same stuff so much of it depends on how you package it. And then the third reason I think people watch..

"And I think it's one, you know delegating. A little more. They did in year one. And also, you know, Bill former back up the Brinks truck, but try and jump start this program. You know, actually, there were only three programs in the country that had two million dollar coordinators. Neither none of those three. That's still have those and Tennessee's is joining that group. So change a foot, I guess to recruit tweaking some things going into your to Dave. What would you say has been the most significant staff decision by? By Jeremy Pruitt. I think two things I mean number one kind of alluded to it earlier. But but bringing a board there. Yeah. From the raiders the guy that has spent time at Obama, and and obviously we'll regard in the field bringing him aboard. And we kind of heard that he was going to have a defensive coordinator role. But I don't think anybody expected him to be the defensive play caller. And I'm sure we'll have a lot of influence in clay calling. But for to publicly take the stance of yet. You know, I'm handing off the the play calling duties to it to a first time play caller. It's pretty monumental. And then obviously moving. Kevin Cher off of that code. If it's coordinator role in bringing Martin aboard board, obviously Winston seines over as well. And and putting him in charge of the receivers and the passing game coordinating duty. So I would probably point to those three things. But but for me, you know, I I was flabbergasted at the seat of the journey. Pruitt had handed off defensive play calling duties, even if you know, we'll see, you know, if that's still the case in mid October talking about the the Tennessee Valley, I was just asked about Mark your what would be considered a significantly successful year. I mean, I know the easy answer is a bowl game. But it seems like maybe maybe it should be higher than that. What what would you say knowing that Tennessee personnel? You know, the schedule stars Georgia. Stay BYU Chattanooga. And the other game is UAB certainly UAB competitive. Very very successful team winning the conference USA championship last year. BYU? Okay. But road games at Florida at Alabama that could be problem at Kentucky at Missouri. So what do you think? Yeah. I mean, you know, they're the only program in the Kinney in the country right now that has to play Alabama and Georgia every single year that that doesn't help you. But ultimately I mean a bowl game. It's kind of the expectation here fair or not, you know, I don't think just going to a bowl game is gonna make anybody happy. I think there's still be quite a bit of skepticism going into your three I would say probably eight wins would be something that people would consider a success here. I mean, you're talking about a schedule that. Yeah. They don't have the marquee preseason game. Like they did last year with West Virginia. But they only leave me stadium four times all next season. And so even when you have a tough schedule your plan, the SEC and you have Alabama locked into that cross division game. You have Georgia still looming and being generally Georgia that makes things tough. But I I don't think just simply making a bowl game is going to be enough to make people happy here in your to doesn't just really an interesting analysis. Let me switch gears one of the big things of the first half of the show. Oh was an has been what happened at Rupp Saturday night year? You're there in in big orange country. I how is that plate? And does it change the psyche of this basketball program number one for four weeks now sitting at number five? Fans are a little bit nervous. Because I think they know, you know, they're proud of the fact that yet, Tennessee and reform bills this program without any elite recruits. But then you go into a game where you play a team that that, you know, could Tukhy every year seems like they kind of have to figure it out about this time of year and Kentucky figures it out right in front of your face kinda flexes on you a little bit. I think has a little bit nervous..

"Continuing on urban combat is nearly always conducted at very close quarters. It is not uncommon to have opposing forces fighting from positions. If you dozen meters apart most of the fighting is done from a distance between fifty and five hundred meters due to this close in nature. It is critical to know where the enemy is. And how they are deployed again. This is a fantasy like knowing where the enemy is. And how they're deployed is really hard to do even when you have even when you have overhead coverage looking in the city. I'll I'll give you an example. I was watching my guys out on a mission. I was watching on a. You av feed. So we're watching we're watching and looking for enemy, and all of a sudden, we see weird activities a vehicle the vehicle stops the kind of moves a little bit stops again. Guys, get out they look around open up the trunk and now, we're totally focused. Like, oh, these guys are getting ready to attack opened up the trunk and as they're starting to pull stuff out of the trunk Meigs. Get hit from different spot that we weren't looking because you can't see everything especially in a city because think of it with buildings as soon as you go off angle a little bit. You can't see the street anymore because it's down in the Bill. We actually totally focused on this one thing. And maneuvering the the air asset to look at these people in a car. And as as their as we're monitoring these guys these suspected enemy personnel. Also guys get shot at from somewhere else. And we completely miss it. And we continue watch these guys and they pull out a Jack at a tire, and they lift up the car and they change the tire and they leave like just normal. But it looked very suspect. So to think that you're ever going to know where the enemy isn't how they're im- deployed is very very Jones again best. You do the best. It doesn't mean. You don't try you definitely try. "I will note that you're right beat does play very slowly they can have some pretty low scoring games. But if you get one of those really low totals with UAB game, I would look to bed and over based on the fact that their their defense start regretting their playing a decent offense. Well, and another thing that we've talked about here, you know, because they move at such a slow tempo. And they do have what appears to be a good defense some of their totals in those games where they face better offenses will open. Whoa. And we've seen a lot of steam and a lot of money come in on overs for low totals so certain looking to circle some of these spots and play the overnights on them maybe a little bit of a middle opportunity as well. Absolutely. You know, you see a total come out. We'll say for for a game against like Old Dominion over Charlotte or something like that. You see a total come now that one twenty one one twenty two you know, what's going to happen? It's going to get that up. So you know, if you wanna take the over you better be ready for it. Because you know that one twenty one twenty two is going to become one twenty five or one twenty five and a half. And I shouldn't have to tell you. How many times it could fall between one twenty one and twenty five and a half. All right. So positive progression candidate here. And this is a team that I kind of a couple of weeks ago. And I think I was on the train a little bit too early with them. But this is a team that played a brutal non conference schedule in a season where they had a lot of transition turnover. Yeah. Middle Tennessee State. I think you're right on middle Tennessee State. And if you go back to me about it that they choke a couple of games away..
