"Vinegar this week says it's taken out a leader of the Islamic State group in Syria with a drone strike. U.S. central command says the ISIS leader was killed in a town in northwest Syria close to the Turkish border. Pentagon says this morning there were no civilian casualties. This morning, WTO national security correspondent JJ green of the target of this week's strike. His name was and he was considered one of the top 5 Islamic State leaders in Iraq and Syria, which means that he had resources and according to The Pentagon and The White House he was working aggressively on building the networks, ability to operate outside of the U.S. and that usually is something that would typically warrant a strike like this from the United States. They know that there are terror groups that are operating in places around the world, but the question is, are they a threat to the U.S.? This man was ISIS is and that's why this air strike took place. Taking out this threat JJ, what kind of damage does this do to ISIS when it comes to carrying out future attacks? Well, again, he was working aggressively to build that group's networks outside of Syria and Iraq and what this does is it takes another person with another significant rolodex out of the mix. This individual didn't get to be the leader just because he walked in and raised his hand. He had some significant skill sets and he knew people. He knew how to get things done and he clearly knew enough to make it up the ranks in ISIS to some of the top most trusted leaders in the organization. So what it does is it essentially eliminates their ability to do a certain set of things and it takes away their ability to attack the U.S. from certain vantage points from within the ISIS group. So it's a significant degradation of ISIS's ability to attack the U.S.. Well, speaking of that, how much of a threat does ISIS represent to the U.S.? One thing we should remember and this was probably 6 years ago or so about 6 years ago. ISIS essentially fell on hard times. And that organization essentially was attacked by the rest of the world. And essentially, they essentially melted into nowhere. But when they did that, they took along with them millions of dollars. They were the richest terrorist group on the planet. That money did not disappear. They took it with them and that gave them the opportunity and the ability to continue to launch attacks and strikes against the U.S. and other countries and other organizations. That money gave them capability. They still have some of that money. They still have the capability. And by the way, these people that disappeared didn't just leave the planet. They melted into the fabric of
