Sebastian Talks About the Lies Behind Jan. 6 With Rep. Troy Nehls

"First things first, got to talk about it at January 6th. You have been digging into the documents for over a year now. It is the subject of your book. What are the things that the people in power don't want the American people to know about those four hours? Well, what you're seeing from this January 6th sham committee on televisions across America. Now, I know they're not getting the ratings they would like beni Thompson is the puppet and Nancy's the puppet master. You've got Liz Cheney and Adam kenzie gunner. But this book really talks about all the things that they're not talking about. They don't want to talk about the intelligence that the leadership of the capitol police had. Before the event. Before the event weeks leading up to the event. Telling them that they need to prepare. That's right. The capitol police leadership team, specifically the intelligence section, they produced three reports, intelligence reports, dating back to December 15th, December 30th, and then January 3rd. And I highlight all this in the book. And if you would have read that 14 page report, that intelligent summary on January 3rd, you'd have read a paragraph, you would have said, as an entry level law enforcement officer would have said, we need to have the National Guard here, the following day.

President Trump Wants to Keep the Country Safe

"So here's president Trump talking about the National Guard cut 8. And where there is a true and total breakdown of Law & Order where citizens most basic rights have been violated, then the federal government can and should send the National Guard to restore order and secure the peace without having to wait for the approval of some governor that thinks it's politically incorrect to call a man. If it is correct, he's willing to take over. He's going to bring out the National Guard and he's going to take over America. He's a dictator. That's what they're saying on the left. They're freaking out over this stuff. And these are the same people, by the way, who are complaining that president Trump did not call out the National Guard to protect the capitol when in fact we know that the president offered not just 10,000 troops but 20,000 National Guard troops, they were at the ready, but they turned him down. Nancy Pelosi said we don't need it. As a matter of fact, Nancy Pelosi told the capitol police to stand out. Nobody's ever explained why. That J 6 committee, they don't want to get into that story. But this is where the president shines when he talks about policies when he talks about what we need to be doing in this country. President Trump keeps us up, he's not even going to have to announce he's running. We're just going to demand that he run.

The January 6 Hearings Are a Sham

"January 6th hearing the January 6th hearing is a sham, it's a sham. Nobody on Planet Earth should be taking them seriously. Nobody. Not one person that I know of, that's honest. Because they are not answering critical questions that need to be answered. Because Ashley babbitt was murdered and nobody's talking about it. I did a video about this on my YouTube channel. The officer Tatum on YouTube. You can look it up. The police officer who killed Ashley babbitt and cold blood in my opinion. Completely lied in front of the world. I showed it on the video, he said that his view was obstructed and he didn't know who was coming through the door they were beating down the door. There were literally capitol police standing in front of the door before Ashley babbitt climbed attempted to climb through the window.

"This is from just the news a great news site Founded by and run ultimately by John Solomon Since the hearings have been undercut by a fundamental fact Trump's actions before the riot began Included urging supporters to peacefully and patriotically express their opinions And ordering his top age to ensure there was a large contingent of National Guard troops at the ready to ensure no trouble ensued A capital police timeline obtained by just a new shows the Trump Pentagon first offered National Guard troops to the capitol police on January 2nd Four full days before the event Jeremy doesn't put this in The New York Times piece The police turned down the offer but then began to have second thoughts the capitol police then asked their political minders the house sergeant of arms chief among them For permission to accept the troops on January 4 But were turned down on the ground that such a show of force would create bad quote unquote optics The records show But the most compelling piece of evidence that Trump wanted to thwart rather than in sight violence is contained in a long memo written by The Pentagon inspector general They chronicled the assistance the Department of Defense offered Congress both ahead of enduring the riot In it the inspector general recounts a fateful meeting on January 3rd In The White House with an acting defense secretary Christopher Miller and general Mark milley chairman of the joint chiefs of staff met with Trump on national security matters This was not in Jeremy's article in The New York Times

"Hours on unrest and attacks on U.S. capitol police as the mob broke into the capitol. Witness testimony released by congressman Adam kinzinger, a Republican panel member, indicates that the former president was in The White House dining room doing one thing. I think they were just watching the TV. Do you know whether he was watching TV in the dining room when you talked to him on January 6th? That's my understanding. He was watching television. Lawmakers say he was not deploying the National Guard or taking other actions, even as aides and members of Congress pleaded with the president to do something. That will be the main focus tonight as the committee makes what will be in many ways, its final closing argument related to its investigation, though another hearing and preliminary report are expected later. Tonight's hearing begins at 8 o'clock. Reporting live on Capitol Hill, Mitchell Miller, WTO. Thank you, Mitch, closing arguments, will start tonight in star tomorrow rather. In Steve Bannon's contempt of Congress trial. The former White House aide declined to testify today in his defense and his lawyers did not call any witnesses. Instead, arguing that Bannon should be acquitted because prosecutors had not proven their case. The judge did not immediately rule on the motion and the case is likely to end up in the jury's hands by midday tomorrow. Bannon is charged with defying a congressional subpoena from the House committee investigating the events leading up to January 6th. The Supreme Court will not allow The White House to implement a policy that prioritizes deporting people who are in the country illegally and pose a public safety risk today's order leaves the policy frozen nationwide for now. The vote was 5 four conservative justice Amy Coney Barrett joined the three liberal justices, Sonia Sotomayor Elena Kagan, and kanti Brown Jackson in the minority. The court says it will hear arguments in the case in late November. The justices were acting on The White House's emergency request to the court following conflicting decisions by federal appeals courts over that September directive from Homeland Security. House Democrats have pushed through a bill to make contraception rights federal law. The measure now heads to the Senate where its future is uncertain. The bill illustrates how Democrats are fighting a conservative effort to roll back some rights like abortion. 6 35 here at home a man accused of stealing from a Northern Virginia church is suspected of targeting more churches in Maryland. Tucker Carlson: Two Standards, One Corrupt Justice System

"Patient. And the judge through the book at her. Here was Tucker's take on it last night on Fox News channel's Tucker Carlson tonight. The sentencing judge Lambert admitted he wanted to make an example out of the cell's lady woman. Why? Because he was frustrated that the defendant in a separate case made statements they were quote embarrassing to me. That actually happened. And therefore, because he was embarrassed by somebody else, Lambert decides to take it out on this elderly woman. And that's horrible. That's not justice. It's the opposite. And it gets worse. At the same time, this was happening. The U.S. attorney for D.C. at the same point they were sending an elderly cancer patient to jail, this same U.S. attorney's office announced that they were dropping charges against 9 members of Stephen Colbert's production crew. Now, capitol police had caught this group of producers trespassing inside the longworth House office building on the evening of Thursday, June 16th. We brought it to you when it happened. So they were walking around the capitol complex without authorization. Parading, that's a crime. Now, capitol police had warned Colbert's producers that they were restricted area, but they ignored the warning from police. They returned anyway with the help of several members of Congress. That would include Adam Schiff and Jake auchincloss. But the other day, the U.S. attorney for D.C., a Biden appointee called Matthew graves, said that they're allowed to walk with no charges. So here are the new rules. If you're a regime propagandist, you can do whatever you want. You can trespass in the capitol. You won't be charged by Joe Biden's prosecutor. But if you're an elderly cancer patient who votes the wrong way, you go to prison. Those are two standards. One justice system. That's corruption.

Stephen Colbert Crew Won't Be Charged After Capitol Arrests. WHY?

"You're not allowed to walk inside the capitol or the capitol complex unescorted. That's not permitted. And yet that is exactly what the Colbert staffers did. They were, they were told by the capitol police to leave. They did not leave. Now, they were subsequently arrested, and they were arrested for honor at the rise. Well, you could say berating inside the cap and if all this sounds vaguely familiar, it should be. These are the exact charges that are launched against nonviolent January 6th defendants. You were inside the capitol. You're not supposed to be. And you were walking around on escorted. The building was officially closed, and yet you were in there. This is a violation of law. And you have people confined incarcerated, given sentences of prison. I think, for example, of the grand mom that we had on the podcast just a few days ago Pam hemphill, 69 years old, maga grandma, so called. She was actually pushed into the capitol. She wasn't trying to sort of hide in there. In fact, no one asked her to leave. And after a brief time in the capital, she leaves. She takes off. She's out of there. Didn't harm anybody didn't do anything. And she's serving, I think the second of a 60 day prison sentence. Now, in the case of the Colbert defendants, they were asked to leave. And yet they didn't leave. So you would think that the DoJ would say, but at least to maintain some semblance of consistency at least to convince the country that we're not applying the law in one sided way, we should have misdemeanor charges against these guys. But no, they decide no charges at all.

Kash Patel: Chuck Schumer Had Intel About Potential Dangers on Jan. 6

"Wouldn't it be rational to conclude that if the executive branch had that information It would have been shared with or perhaps came from Capitol Hill the capitol police and so forth the FBI and others Well what we've learned is from the Biden DoD inspector general investigation of the DoD's conduct leading up to January 6th where they found themselves the Biden inspector general that we did not delay and we acted appropriately and swiftly in relation to the National Guard It also found that the FBI had sensitive intelligence that they selectively shared with Chuck Schumer and not with the other Intel agencies and law enforcement community writ large So those are questions Chris ray can only answer as to why he failed to do that And any information we received of course we acted upon but of course president Trump proactively preemptively said just in case I'm giving you the authorization because that's what the law requires And so you can use it not just in Washington but anywhere across America let's go ask the governor if they need it

Caller: Liz Cheney's Timeline About Jan. 6 Is Incorrect

"Cheney was trying to say that Trump didn't do anything to stop the violence or defend Mike Pence, but the Senate didn't get evacuated until two 20 p.m. and Trump's tweet about Pence came at two 24. And at two 28, Trump said the tweet that said, please support our capitol police and law enforcement they are truly on the side of our country. Stay peaceful. And that was only 11 minutes after the east front doors were breached at two 27. So you sent that tweet after the tweet about Pence and so he did take meeting action and she was just hoping that people aren't aware of the timeline what she said is true. And Ben clearly you've done your homework. I mean, even before that, president Trump was on the record and I will try to find this audio for you, but president Trump during his remarks to that giant crowd set to keep everything peaceful. So he wanted people to protest peacefully. So again, Liz Cheney conveniently left all of that out of the committee hearing as well.

Caller Who Attended Jan. 6 Never Saw a Gun, Knife or Threat

"When I got to the capitol time and amongst the crowd and I was there for several hours, I never once saw a gun, I never once saw a knife, I never once saw anybody communicate in a threat either as someone in attendance or a capitol police officer. I never heard one person say, let's go burn it down. Nothing at all like that. So Charles, here's what gets me. Charles here's what gets me. About the AR-15s, because Cassidy Hutchinson, she says that she heard from somebody who heard from somebody that there were people armed with AR-15s all over the place. My question is, okay, well, why didn't the D.C. police department step in? If in fact, the D.C. police saw these weapons, that's a crime those kinds of weapons are illegal in Washington, D.C., so why didn't they intervene? Exactly. And I can tell you that the police department was around the capital, hundreds of them, and you're exactly right. If a cop stall, somebody walking with an AR-15, they're going to either arrest them, or they're going to take them out. And if the crowd was so heavily armed, why weren't any weapons confiscated, why weren't any police officers shot by the protesters? The only people that died that day were all Trump supporters. And the only person shot was actually by that. And they know it's a lot. And I don't think that this committee is what they're doing is designed to reveal the truth is just designed to do damage to Donald Trump. But here's my thing. All these little lies that they tell and they told over the last four years, they get away with it. There's never accountability. And my hope is that when the Republicans take control in November, that we not only launch investigative committees on January 6th, but also on November 3rd, 2020.

"Did or did not President Trump and or his administration Or for national guardsmen To Nancy Pelosi and her people before January 6th Unequivocally yes January 4th in the Oval Office I was there with the commander in chief the Secretary of Defense the chairman of joint chiefs of staff and the chief of staff for the president of the United States where the president unequivocally authorized up to 20,000 national guardsmen and women on January 4th immediately thereafter as chief of staff for the Department of Defense We executed that authorization and went to Nancy Pelosi and the capitol police and mayor Bowser and they all said no and mayor Bowser put it in writing in the United States Capitol police timeline that was just released shows that they declined and put it in writing Do we know why The Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi declined the president's offer For national guardsmen and how many did he offer The president offered up to 20,000 in the law works as you know mark is the president can authorize the National Guard or the second component of the laws there must be a request by a federal agency or a governor in this case mayor of D.C. And Nancy Pelosi controls the federal capital police and therefore they report it to her and why they did not want it I would leave it to the political experts I'm a national security guide but they seem to be worried about the optics just like they were worried about the optics of Lafayette square though there was the hypocrisy of their way And they also could have put up a no crime fence around the capitol They failed to do that And they failed that federal law enforcement there surrounding the capital such as the FBI and DHS They failed to do a great many things that would have been very simple to do

"On WNYC This is morning edition from NPR news I mean Martinez and Culver City California And I'm Rachel Martin in Washington D.C. Good morning Tomorrow marks one year since a mob of Trump supporters attacked the U.S. capitol in an effort to overturn the 2020 election Many of them believed a lie that the election had been stolen for Joe Biden a lie promoted on far right news outlets social media and by then president Trump The images of that day of U.S. capitol police being attacked the seat of American government being overrun there had to forget Democratic senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota was of course in the capital on January 6th certifying the election along with her Senate colleagues I asked her what sticks in her mind from that day one year later What I remember the most is laid late in the evening actually the next day three 30 a.m. when center blond who's the Republican lead with me on the rules committee and vice president Pence just the three of us We were the only ones left in the Senate chamber with the two young women with the mahogany box with the last of the electoral ballots up to Wyoming walked that corridor to the house to finish our job There was glass broken all around us There was spray painted statues and just that morning we've had a joyful walk to start the day which should be a celebration of our democracy and that's how it ended but I do remember that sense of pride that we had finished our job and we had certified those votes and President Biden and vice president Harris were declared the Victor as they should have been Are we now a year later any closer to having a full picture of what happened on January 6th do you think We are We've had hundreds and hundreds of prosecutions out of the Justice Department We have a major investigation going on in the house with support from courageous Republicans like Liz Cheney and we have the work that we did in the Senate that I led with senators Portman and senator blunt and center Peters which actually looked at the security we've made pretty dramatic changes there with a whole new group of people leading our police sergeant at arms new bill pass making it easier for the police chief to call in the National Guard better sharing of intelligence because always the haunting words that I think of when I look at our police and all they went through that day was the one officer in the squad cars that said over the radio does anyone have a plan Does anyone have a plan And the answer was no So all of those things getting to the bottom of what happened improving our security and then of course carrying on the fight for democracy by passing voting rights legislation That should be the legacy of that day You're holding a hearing with U.S. capitol police chief Thomas manger today He took the job last year after the previous chief resigned after the January 6th attack What do you want to know from Thomas major Well the first will be going through all of the recommendations that we made because our job is oversight and we need accountability We have put forth major supplemental funding and one of the things that Joseph horrifying and should be for the public is that 75% of the officers on duty that day were forced to defend the capital in their regular uniforms In some places the insurrectionists had more protective gear on than the police officers did So that has to change But I'm going to push him on two things One is the increasing threats against Congress which coincides with the attack on our election They've doubled tripled up to over 8000 threats in a year And the second is about the need to higher officers something that's plaguing police departments across the country And he is I know taking measures with retention bonuses and regional recruiting and the like to do that But we are down hundreds of officers in the capital A recent NPR poll found that 64% of Americans believe that democracy in this country is in crisis and at risk of failing Now those are Democrats and Republicans self identified and they think this for very different reasons I mean Republicans think this because of a lie about the election being stolen Democrats fear a repeat of January 6th How do you see this moment in American history I'm not going to concede that our democracy is going to fail because I have too much faith in the people of this country And I certainly saw that that night after the horror of the insurrection when actually over 90 of the senators voted to pull the Electoral College I saw two weeks later and there's that beautiful blue sky when leaders of both parties stood out there on that inaugural stage with the beautiful words of Amanda Gorman But right now we have a continuing attack on our democracy and what was on January 6th bayonets and bear spray is now over 400 bills introduced to make it harder for people to vote as Bob Dole once said no first class democracy can treat people like second class citizens He said that in reference to civil rights legislation well it's the same thing today So I truly see this as the work in addition to getting to the bottom of everything that happened holding people accountable at every level There must be work to protect the democracy And that's why it's such a priority for many of us to pass our bill the freedom to vote act What happens a former president Trump decides to run What happens if he gets the nomination How do you confront the disinformation that will inevitably come about the 2020 election Americans rejected Donald Trump in the last election And while we know he has a strong following you see it at rallies and the like we also know that there are a whole bunch of people including many in his own party that did reject him Including independents all over this country And I have faith that that will continue But part of a democracy is putting out your policies of making the case to the.
