"Ah 30 15 lost their Cardinals. The Burgundy gold, especially young offense, led by second year quarterback Dwight Ask. It's basically a home team under 25 on the offense is old building process. Biggest thing is coming at work every day with your lunch pail and trying to get better and asking for the offense did get something going to the fourth quarter but too late, paid the price for a slow start, including Askins fumble in the Red Zone in the first quarter. "The French Open so soon after the U. S open was a mistake for the sport of tennis. Yet by not pick off that low hanging fruit and, you know, make fun of the French. But it is a specifically French problem because they were not particularly accommodating the scheduling. Of the French Open and you can do that. You can you can you know you and the U. S open can have. Ah, have a pissing match if that's what you want Dio, But if you degrade the quality of The athletes who are going to come in and you are second you're degrading the quality of play at your event. You don't win anything here. Even even another couple weeks would have been a I know it targets. All these events have to sort of move around. It would have been a game changer in having some of the athletes know know. Know Osaka? No. Serena is a I mean, it's the equivalent of the U. S open. Not having federal adult turned out. Djokovic accounts are watching us, man. But you're gonna be in the same spot as hockey and you're gonna go up against a lot of competition without what you probably need. In front of fans and and you need a clay court prep season two. That's the other thing like that would completely ruin their own preparation For a lot of like part. I'm sure part of reason Osaka did. This is people to compete in the championship final in the finals for the U. S. Open the men, the women If you want to go to Rome for this clay court playing thing, that joke of it is that that was a brutal turnaround for people who lost halfway through the U. S Open. Yeah, it's a bit too bad. Some comments. Maybe our colleague Tiki Barber have caused somewhat of a firestorm in the New York media this week, with Tiki calling outside Oakland. Barclay is undeniably frustrating past protection over the last couple years, Barclay was asked directly about those comments yesterday. Obviously, Tiki's a legend a lot of great things for for this franchise. So you know, I'm not gonna look at his disrespect. I mean, look at the challenge, but Same thing with him like everyone else. They don't care beside opinions. I'm really only folks about the pens and is in this building fire cell say Kwan will bounce back with a big game against your bears this week. Look Think he's won the nice people who met the business and I probably shouldn't criticize colleagues. But it is weird to take you to tell the truth. 100% accurate. You have good advice to a young guy take his experience that he's had and pass it along to someone for team. He cares about me. Come on New York media. He's 100% accurate 100% right, however, that they knew what they had in Barbie. This isn't this isn't new, right? This isn't this isn't this isn't a new thing. I do Think Barclay have a big game. By what? By the way. Is one of the 100 controversy because he's 100% on point Hunter present a point, and I thought Barkley wasn't his response. Right, like very respectful taking is a legend. But there are giants who have not afforded Tiki that. That that title one would think you've been honest about them. Charles Barkley gets praised and Finney um, as he should, for being honest, right, being honest about things with former Jordan's on his friend anymore. And he's honest about things in the world. He knows equally as well. And it's It's some kind of betrayal, like Get over yourself. New York Let's be honest. Like Get over yourselves. New York Tiki was 100% on the right here and take what was right is in his response. Response is one thing. Taking the advice and trying to applied something else more. We'll see whether or not the young player doesn't The Lakers, maybe favorites in the eyes of many to capture the MBA title with the Clippers and Bucks now out of the way, But they have been rough in Game one so far in these playoffs, losing their two game ones that the Blazers and the Rockets by a combined 22 points. Those, however, the only two games they've lost in the playoffs so far in the bubble, buy or sell. The Lakers will lose Game one once again Tonight they are seven point favorites. It's pawn Friday is bogus required. Let's continue with the craziness I meant by. I think they can the Nuggets. Remember the Nuggets were playing really, really impressive basketball against the Clippers in Game one of that series, and then just ran out of steam and again to the credit of of the guys on that on that call on television. They called. They said. They're going to run out of steam in the second half, the emotional sort of way to that Utah's serious gonna catch up to him extra time off here. I think now this is the new normal right numbers like we were in serious. We come back. We're never down. I think never pushes it to six. And I certainly think they can win. They can't win the first game. And there is something to be said about being out of rhythm. Right being outta rhythm. You haven't played in a while for the Lakers. That's always true. I think that will be exacerbated by being this bubble. There's always sometimes you go fishing play paddle ball. Try, like, distract yourself in the fact that you're in a bubble and you're not playing hoops, sort of keeping up with your routine and we'll end with some U S open yesterday. During the show. Tiger had three birdies in a row. You've got us all excited that he might be in contention and today disappointing three over par and finish the day tied for 58th coming into today by yourself. The U. S open will still be appointment television for you this weekend, with or without Tiger in contention. Tiger Woods from Tiger shows the tiger should did terrible. Tell me Sell. I'm so so. I didn't ask for it. Ah, yeah, I'm riveted by again. There's a lot of sports to come. There's just a lot of stuff to watch, and we're getting a three or four screen territory. I like to watch baseball, too. You know, it's about all the competition. I like watching Dodgers games, Cubs games, sort of random baseball players and I'm interested in. But yes, it is absolutely going to be interesting..

"S open because Masters and what they call now the open the British Open you and I always call but You don't have to get me kicked up for those two. I'm ready. But these other that are right here on our soil. You always get me prepared and let me know Katie keep an eye on this guy then because you know the course is inside out now. Winged Foot. You told me was one of the most difficult courses but that you were going to pay attention to a couple other events that you thought could maybe give you some caveats as Faras. Who to look at as faras for the U. S Open. Yeah, You're absolutely right. And those events have been pretty recent. You mentioned a PGA championship. That's one of them. I think that was very similar to a U. S open this year we saw the rough it Harding Park was very thick. The fairways were narrow. You really had to find the fairways there. But let's keep in mind. A PGA Championship setup is different than the U. S. Open. Ah, and this is going to be your dad's usopen. Okay, This is not Erin Hills or Chambers Bay. This is going to be the real deal where the rough is extremely penal. The fairways air really narrow the greens air really fast. This is like we're used to watching at Olympic Club and Marion and Shinnecock and that type of thing. This is going to be brutally tough. The last time the U. S open was here at Winged Foot. It was 2006 when Phil Mickelson hit the last T ball on the 18th hole off the hospitality tent and end up losing to Geoff Ogilvy the winning score Katie if you recall five over par And you asked Jack Geoff Ogilvy how he won that He parred the last four holes. He was able to get up and down for par time and time again that week, and that's really what won him the championship. Now I talk about the difference between a PGA Championship set up in a U. S open set up Davis Love won the PGA Championship, his only major of his career, his decorated career at Winged Foot as well. His winning score was 11 under so you go back to hoard Ahh Harding Park where Colin Morikawa one at 13 under par. We're not going to see that this week. In fact, around town here, the winning score proposition is like one over par. You can bet under over one over par. Nick Bogdanovich put it up to 79 a half and it's already up 2 to 81 a half So that would equate to 1.5 strokes over par for the four days John John Ronny came out and Nick knows his golf like you do. He does, and John Graham came out and he said, I don't know if anybody's going to be under par this week. But if anybody is they're going to win and they're going to win by a lot..

And I'm doing this not because I'm physically really in top shape and able, but because I'm so determined The attack helped end World War two, but it killed 140,000 people. Simon Oh, in Fox News. Now President Trump still isn't convinced it wasn't a bomb that hit Beirut this week in a massive explosion that killed 135 people and injured 5000. Perhaps it was the exact I don't think anybody can say right now. We're looking into it very strongly. Defense Secretary Marcus for says there's no evidence it was a bomb. It's officially being blamed on a large stockpile of flammable fertilizer at a warehouse on Wall Street. Stock futures are up modestly. The dam for the NASDAQ hit a record high again. Golf is getting ready today to tee off its first big tournament of the year. With the Open championship canceled by the code of 19 crisis. The U. "Any food in bed service? The beverage cart is out every day. Everything that they're putting out is prepackaged. S O. They do have food, but it's not true that they've made everything is pre packaged. But we make sure that they go out every day to make sure everybody stays hydrated. It's true Eso masks are required for a car to the clubhouse. And then after you tee off, I guess you can remove your mask. That's correct. That is correct. And everybody's been very respectful of distancing, not gathering afterwards. A. So it's been, um You know really easy to make sure that we manage people and make sure that we're keeping everybody safe. Alright. You said the magic word. Laurie, You're short staffed. Are you hiring? No, we're we've been on a hiring priest since March since we shut down, and so we're just dealing with the the staff that we had during the winter and That's why I've been so busy as I'm in the golf shop, taking care of the guests, which puts me face to face with, um, pretty much everybody walking in And I like that. So I'm in the gulf Shop, You know, 30 40 hours a week. And you have Tom cleaning the cleaning the porta potties on the course. Of course, those have been removed because we've got on ly the The ones up at the golf shop that are open. Now that is we can keep make sure that we keep them clean and keep them safe. But Tom's been Uh oh. Doing a lot of teaching, and that's where he spends most of his days. We have a separate T top. That is just for instruction to make sure that he has got plenty of room to distance with his students. Okay, Tom, How did people sign up for your lessons? Ah, they could give me a call here at the golf shop or on my cell. My cell is 9 to 9 to 2 to 1, and I guarantee results on lessons except For you. I know. I know. You have your one life failure. That's right. All right. Lulu is the mascot cop. Yeah, she is. Ah, Anybody wants a dog fixed? They could get their God or or or Tom toms Dioxins, where the toxins names. There you go. So Richard, who's your early pick for the U. S open? You mean next year? Or tennis. What are we talking about? And in September there playing the U. S open in September. Well, I read that This is the only major of the year. No September's the U. S Open and then the Masters has actually moved to November. So this is not the only major of the year. I've been making a fool of myself again. You said the first major of the year. Well, okay. I meant to say the only so I was wrong. That's the first major alright of early picked for the wares of being played. I'm sorry. Where is the U s open being played when you put it that way, foot, Richard. Okay, Um, once again, another classic old school kind of golf course. Ah, this is not the Ah, the inverted platter. One is it Forget what that one was with A with a round of greens. That's the one where no. Yeah, we wait Put is one of those those crown greens. Yeah, of course, is yes. That's not the one where the ball was rolling off the green and Phil whacked it did it and took a penalty. Is it? I think it's I think that he and daily both did it. Yeah, Yeah. John Daly dropped out of this. Ah, this PGA, he was actually in the film. I guess as a past winner, right? The only major we won I guess he could play forever. Yep. Alright, I'm stalling. I'm calling because I don't have an answer. Tiger was will win his 15th major at wing foot in September of the U. S open. 83rd girl. I actually think that's a good pick, because now he's starting to play more, and he's going to be peaking somewhere around that time. I kind of looked for him in November at the Masters. I either want to be cool. You have to start to build it to build that excitement again about, you know, chasing Jack down at 18 majors. He's got 14 now. In 82 turning points overall, which tidy Amar past. Ah Snead. I think you're going to be looking at November Masters with Probably Rory Brooks and Tiger and one of the last two groups. And you're going to have some place in that mix is going to be Mickelson. Some of the other guys, I think you're gonna look by then there'll be crowds out there. I think By November you're going to see the most exciting termina dear. Well, that is a bold prediction, especially because Phil Mickelson will be dead and embalmed by then, But Tom still going to pick him doesn't matter. He likes them. He likes the old guys. Laurie likes guys with with the porn stache. I got it. All right. You know, I would love I'd love to shambles, but I'm afraid his knees going to snap. All right, Laurie. People wouldn't make a tea time call or website. Come Cole. We're working on a new system, but that it's not up yet. So call 505367 4700 Thank you. Ball. Stay healthy, Lulu, stay healthy. Thank you. Thank you. Have a good day, You two. All right? Take a break. We will come.

"Now just coming in on New Jersey Transit is the main Bergen and torture Port Jervis line. There is no late there because of a stalled train in Wald. Right time time Chopper 8 85 day forecast now with chief meteorologist Craig Allen. So we get a little relief from the heat after today. I think so. I don't think we'll have the heat wave going. But we're not going to get very much relief from the humidity at all right through the weekend and even into early next week, and it was interesting you get to read some comments and people was that I'd rather have 95 degrees and 25 30% relative humidity than 80 degrees and 80% humidity any day. And you know I can understand that Has they say it's not the heat, It's the humidity study to partly cloudy, a spotty thunderstorms possible by late afternoon or evening. Today we could do number 55 in a road in the near 90 scattered showers and thunderstorms. For tonight. About 75 showers and thunderstorms will be around the first half of Friday. And it will be held to about 82 85 tomorrow but a very sticky type of day, especially after those showers and then Saturday mix of sun and clouds very warm and humid 82 to 88. Stay connected with the all teas five day forecast Saturday, Sunday and Monday. That is both days could see a shower or thunderstorm. Both days will be in the Tropically humid mid eighties. Right now in the city. We have 77 Humidity, 64% and a Southwest breeze at 5 to 1 95 degrees in 20%. Humidity moved to Phoenix, right and exact. Yeah, that's that's what it's like, almost every day. All right, Thank you. Craig. It's 7 20 to 1 of golf's most prestigious events is back on the calendar, and it will be held in Westchester County. The U. S Open was scheduled to be held.

"X M N BA radio. We'll talk about the bubble down in Disney. And they've got some issues, but I got to say they've handled it pretty well and they're going to get it up and running. Can they keep it going for the entire rest of the mini regular season into the playoff run and a champion crowned Maybe, um, I talked to a couple hockey guys in the last few weeks and there they gave me more optimism that the sport today will be able to make it to which run first and foremost. They're actually going to play last games because they're moving immediately into the playoffs. Not doing the finish off the regular season for TV purposes type thing. Now they were ahead of the game. They were a good salad. 5 to 7 games per team played more than the NBA's when they shut down, so they had a little bit more flexibility. But they did cancel the end of the regular season. They finished it would last games played. There was supposed to end a is going to end up doing the same. They're not playing 82 but they'll get it. Closer than they are right now. I'm still optimistic about boats and I've been optimistic about baseball. I have my reservations about football, both on the pro and collegiate side. We'll get into that is well get accounts. Island's going to join us and talk from basketball in later on. And then I haven't had my guy Matt Adams on in awhile for any of you loyal bot, Mac listeners. You know, whenever I've got a golf if you and nor I think it merits being talked about, it's somewhat of a length. On the show, and it is back. It is a big tournament this week or only a couple of weeks away from the U. S open, much like other sports whore tracing that had to redo their whole calendar and things there somewhat out of whack of what that's what the schedule next season usually looks like. Certainly. It's the same with golf. They played no major. Yet where about three weeks out from the U. S Open, which is usually the third made your play did here instead, it's going to be the first. Of only three because the the open the break open has already been canceled. They've decided they're not going to try and reschedule. They couldn't play it when it was supposed to play. It s so they're going to put it off till 2020. Once we'd talk about all things golf related with Matt Adams from the Golf Channel and his syndicated radio show their ways of life will do that a little bit later, too. Right now. You and I on the phones rest of this hour all next hour, 2855 to 124227 Greg for Michigan's up on CBS Sports Radio. Hello, Greg. Oh, my God. Jodi. Mr Positive, A Welcome back on Saturday and Sunday. Number one number two. I love corn hole. Hell, Yes, I'm looking for the baseball Miguel Cabrera, the greatest right handed hitter of all time, and Willie Mays, the greatest player that ever played the game. I gotta ask you a question, my friend. What conditions? Wood. Preclude all sports being employed. Is that the amount of people that might get the Corona virus Other than those conditions, what might shut down all the formation? It's all about the corona viruses, nothing else, the fact that they were set up the N b A N A H locations to play at they've got everything worked out, is it? Going to be able to keep the Corona virus in check. That's something we'll only find out over time. But there's nothing else major. That's going to come up that would say, or we can't go out. Although we have enough players and the Corona virus positive tests have been Minimal enough. We're going to shut down for some other reason. Unless there's another pandemic That's going to pop up that none of us know about no, that's the only reason why would shut down Very good, my friend. A have a great night and stay positive You do to send back. Thanks for captain. It's Steve from Connecticut's up on CBS. Sports Radio. Hello, Steve. Hi, Jody. Can I talk about three things before I get to my main point? Absolutely. But time, brother. All right, um I'm wondering if maybe Cornhole becomes an Olympic sport. I would vote for it. If they put me on the Olympic Committee. It would surely get my vote. I don't know what it is about this goofy game, but I just enjoy watching it. And yes, I enjoy. I've only As I said. I played in a handful of times in my entire life. The last time I played, I played longer than I ever did. Usually it's a couple games back in port, That's it. Then that's going to watch the guests Loos. But when I did play it out at a bar 68 months ago, whenever it was when bars were still a thing I I enjoyed it greatly had a very good time. So I am now officially a cornhole fan, and I say we take it all the way to the Olympics. I do, too. Okay, number one with baseball. When the batters get on base. It must be complicated with the safe distance thing. Well, it is and it isn't because it's not They're going to allow certain players to stand in certain areas because they have to because the game calls for it. How could you even consider playing football without guys being on top of each other? You can't So baseball is going to try within their best scenario is that they can to keep the player separated. But there are certain things that occur on the field there will force them to be in proximity. And they will do just that. They're not better. They're gonna have to touch each other. If you want to get the guy out, you know? Yes, but you will do so, too and a glove which is pretty damn good protection. Okay? And you mentioned something about hitters hitting home runs with mass. I was blown away at that because I have trouble with my vision. You know, it sets off like a heat thing. It's like the waves you see on the road. I cannot see clearly for anything. I can't believe these guys could hit homeruns wearing masks. Hey, I thought two of them tonight already on video dd victorious and ah, Clint Fraser of the Yankees and is that you also said Atleast this far. I've been able to read the rules and understand you are not obligated to wear a mask when you go to the plate. It is not something that you have to do. Oh, you're supposed to keep it on while you were in the dugouts. When you get into the on deck circle, you're allowed to take your mask off. And go up to bat and back. I haven't noticed if I don't think that's obligatory for the runners, either. I've seen a couple of guys wear their masks when they get on base. They feel uncomfortable in the plate. But then they put it on when they've gotten on base. But again, that's Up to the individual player on the offensive side. If you're a defensive player, you're expected to run and make plays again. You're not obligated to wear a mask, but I've seen players wearing masks. In the field to it's up to each individual player. Just for the difficulty of it give you that much more appreciation of how athletic these guns are..
