"Well on around. Yes arts What what are what do you call this a cow jewel. This is a casual for friday because Coach was everywhere this week and i know a lot of people there obviously locked. Nfl football came back last night. you know we got college football going on your in columbus ohio for the big game on saturday so the lot of college football. Talk going on but coach cow. He won the week he dominated this week. They get the number one recruit in the two thousand twenty two class. We'll talk about all this but it. It changes our friday a little bit because it's going to be tinted toward kentucky blue. Nick richards favorite color. Yeah I'll be honest. I haven't been paying that much attention. This tours kill. It's the offseason. I know but like i. I'm trying to stay plugged into everything i'm watching. I'm watching football much in the buccaneers. The the cowboys last and the game i. You're sitting me cal links. One after another. Just like what the hell's going on it It kentucky so i'm gonna have you explain the week. John kerry had We'll see where else goes i You got to let me know what's happening in columbus. Yeah give me a columbus update. I've had an interesting couple of days here in columbus and I i might talk about it at the. But we're gonna have some fun riffing on casual friday coming up. I first woody. durham out. All right. i'm gonna update explain. What's going on john. Calibrate life here in a second but right as we sat down and reports aides friday morning. here on friday morning everywhere actually. It's time everywhere. Yeah maybe not in europe. But it is We we sit down record on a friday and As we do the speculation is no more. The big twelve isn't facts extending invitations to The the forest school said were rumored to be. Is there ever an instance. Where like this doesn't happen by the way because the rumors start florida and everyone's like pump the brakes we. I guess i get why you have to say that. But it's so yeah. At this point it leaked on tuesday. You know what. I mean like talking doing a show on tuesday. We talked about the big twelve expanding literally throughout the four teams that had been quote unquote leaked. We joked about it being are we sure if it's leaked it isn't just true and then out two days later they are saying it is confirmed it is israel. Everyone is celebrating. Ucf byu you know. They they've got the tweets out to the world. We talk through all this but the big twelve just got bigger. Cincinnati houston All four are joining the big twelve. The big twelve is not dead yet central florida. I didn't realize this kevin clark. Our former colleague said something about how dad's a professor in grew up a ucf negroponte orlando and all that. And then i ended and he made me look into it. That are were you aware that. Ucf started as a division three program and then they've wins the division two and they went to division one aa and then they went to f. bs and then they went like the for. Ucf is absolutely absurd. They're gonna be giving me lou vibes. You know what i mean. Yes ever d three but they they kind of just kept jumping conferences until they get. Acc yeah you where does see nfl football. Twenty years. They're going to be in the nfc south they're playing the buccaneers on sunday. I mean they did win a national championships. You have blake bortles. You know they have a great history People forget that. Michael jordan son marcus jordan and his other son. Jeffrey jordan ended up going to ucf. So they had like a tie to jordan. So eventually they'll have jordan brand. Yeah you see a great addition. I feel what what I mean all the talk about this stuff is football. Obviously 'cause football's driving everything and We understand that even though we're basketball guys like we understand that domino's are falling because we like football but let's talk about the basketball but gatien's like the big twelve adding these schools You lose texas and oklahoma you had byu. Cincinnati houston ucf. I said this last week. And i think i believe it. I think i believe that. That's that's that's the way sports media works as you say a lot of and then you go back and review what you said. You're like. I don't know how much that i believe so. I said this last week that i thought on it i stood on a date and i think i really believe it that adding these four the cumulative of the four i don't think i don't think Any two of these four are better than texas and oklahoma basketball program but i think the cumulative of byu cincinnati houston and ucf as a bat basketball schools cumulative yes yes outweighs texas earned. Maybe not. but let's close. Like i think the big twelve from a basketball perspective is fine. Lou trading texas and oklahoma for these four When the dust settles is still respect the big twelve from basketball perspective as much as i did before texas and oklahoma stabbed him and back joined. Sec yeah. I agree with that and i do feel like texas. The the new era of chris. Beard basketball is very sec. Based in my my you know it seems like a nice turning the page. Now everything in my mind is sec. With chris beard. So i let that go. They gotta worry about kansas if they keep kansas in the twelve and keep kansas happy. And i think you're hundred percent right. They are you know the. There's the alliance. There's the sec. And then the big twelve has one blue blood. That kind of keeps things rolling for them when he talked about kansas. I think there's a chance that you know maybe a memphis or an smu gets thrown into depending on what happens with the american. Maybe twelve tries to add those two programs and you get to more basketball schools even though smu can be a football school. We'll see how it all plays out. But in general if you keep your one blue blood and you stay entrenched in the blue blueblood game and you have adidas top school with kansas. I think the big twelve a smooth sailing all right only issue that comes up is if you're conference the big ten tries to do some tribes eight. Yeah and tries to does. The alliance goes after kansas and spoiler That's gonna have gone after cases. Yes yeah in anyone who thinks that. The big ten doesn't want kansas because of kansas football again. Point to you that the dictates worn last week last week. But also at rutgers. For god's sakes and still we're still trying to figure out what records is good at. They're not even good at like. We added rutgers because they're in new york quote unquote and they're literally not new york. Yeah it seems like it was one of those things where rucker's and saint john's. They got confused. They blurt it out for them. And they're like we get new york. Steve and everyone's like you did not get the janis. You you do that ruckus that was always the market television markets growing up in middle america. Were like it was very defined where you lived in terms of like a television market. Like the there wasn't much reach in nablus television market. You know what i'm as soon as you hit cornfields done we're done so. I kind of like a conceptualize What indianapolis market was very confusing growing up and hearing about new jersey being in the new york television market and but also new jersey's into philadelphia television market and neither one of them are in pennsylvania. New york and i was broken cannery. You know what i mean. It does feel like a way for them to be like the number one tv market. You know what i mean. They kind of gerrymandering they change at in more places the mega number one. So like providence. What it means providence. The boston market if they want to if they wanted to speak of boston market do what happened to those restaurants man they used to be. It's great man. Does the market back in the day awesome market in boston. One time. funny enough sense wasn't as good. So let's the let's frame it this way We we obviously believe that. Acc dictator the two best basketball conferences. Before byrd were. I don't know that did a to the right sort of sorry. The big twelve adding these four losing texas and oklahoma Where would you say. The i think the big twelve has been the third best. I think biggies fans of push back. And i know our bosses at fox not be happy with they say that again. I i report the truth. And yeah i just i call it like i see it and i think the big twelve has been most musone. Twelve has been slightly better than to be like we need someone. Other bill noble biggies emerges like an actual creighton wants to. They want to. They really want to xavier..

"I believe than ten to fifteen million dollars a year for their meteorites substantially below. Sec sixty million the big ten fifty to sixty million and the acc thirty million again. They're not gonna be a player. let them die. Which brings me to my second point. Acc commissioner jim phillips blind to the obvious listen up. The acc is not better than the big twelve by much. You have one good football team in that conference and nothing else. The acc has fifteen teams and notre dame doesn't want anything to do with you. What kind of a conference would continue to remain with fifteen teams. Well hoping and praying that the irish change their minds and have a change of heart. It's not gonna happen. Move on already. You have an obvious choice in front of you. Commissioner you need to add. Ucf university of central florida ucf. Yes and you should consider cincinnati to ucf in my backyard in orlando. Florida has seventy thousand students on campus. The second largest university in the united states their football program. It's been solid for a while. Now it's going to get even better under gus. Malzahn orlando is the seventeenth largest tv market in this country. There's no professional sports team here to compete with them. Either in cincinnati would be helpful to the acc as well because they're better than majority of those teams in the acc. We are short on time. I want to compliment. You never heard a caller door show go on for six minutes without a breath in without an offer or a missed punctuation mark. And like you know you can google this. There's still a real seven reuters reuters. I think the one. I saw seven thousand protesters and they were fired up man they were fired up so we have big anti problems in this country and especially in my part of the country but if you think this is unique to us it's just not like this. Is this this type of nonsense is happening. All over all over the world other than that was the was degrees vacation. Good other than that. It was amazing center. Any was unlike anything. I've ever seen like actually the most beautiful place i've ever spent time. It doesn't even look like a real black. You walk if you walk at your front door of your room and you look and you go. Looks like a postcard. This doesn't even look like it's real like we sure this is real and then the only thing we hit we made the best out of it. You know lemons lemonade. Type of thing is we. Were supposed to be home late sunday night. Leave athens adamson santorini going back to athens. Oh they were filming. Jack ryan in athens there. We go john. Kuczynski was staying at my hotel. And then we're supposed to fly from athens to amsterdam. Make a connection to atlanta atlanta memphis. Be home late sunday night. We left athens. Light wasn't my fault maintenance issue before we even land trust me about wife tried to blame it on me you think. I'm responsible for the maintenance task. When we when i went to rome and we left after our honeymoon amazing trip but like we get to the airport and it was now. We're waiting like seven hours rome so that's just. Yeah that's just eventually. We got on the plane but it was a long long way different series. We'd have to wear masks back then. You're at the airport and but you you. You actually got a hotel room and did the night answered and then yeah it was about. Yeah so we were. We were supposed to depart amsterdam at five. Pm we didn't even land in amsterdam until four forty five pm because of maintenance issues in ad again not my fault and they revoked booked us on the exact same flight the next day five pm on monday and so they were like i was like. "With tear-gas we can't have our hotel. Fill with tear-gas. We can't open the store as a brother. You gotta help me what. I can't leave okay. I understand what you're saying. But i can't leave them out there. Do you understand what i'm saying. And he said text them call them. Tell them to meet you at the back door. I said where's the backdoor. He's an opposite of the front door. Tell me the breakout store. I said i got you. And he said and i caught her. I said walked to the back door. She's like where's the back door opposite us. Guys live as the front door like. Just get a visual the front door and the opposite direction. Other side the bills. And we'll meet you there and my guy nice man in the world he. He's he walked me through a bunch of places. Normal people aren't supposed to be and we arrived at the back door. And i opened the door and boom immediately. I was like painful on the other side of the bill to tear. Gas was so heavy. Even there that i couldn't see my eyes. Were burning blurry tears the whole deal. They arrived very quickly. Pulled him inside. We go back upstairs and the staff at the restaurant was passing around lemons because they said it helps with tear-gas they're so familiar with tear gas. That they know that you need to put lemon on your is okay so at at this point when your daughter is getting into the building. You're aware of the fact that there's a protest against vaccine mandates happening right. I'm aware that there's a protest. I don't know what it is went so when you open the back door you don't know i still don't know that you did know and you open the door and then your eyes began to melt and you thought no. This really is the dumbest band. Lifetime like what is happening right now. How i found out is. I went back to the table and they closed all the windows on the balcony. You know so are fresh. Air dinner is now. Not that at all. And i i honestly i get on twitter and type in athens protests and i just start seeing what pops up and it's clearly they're protesting that mandatory vaccines for healthcare.

"Football just has not been consistently historically good enough and seven straight bowl games okay. There's including a new year's six bowl. There's like forty three caves so the bowl game stat conference champions okay. Well that's that's something And then i don't know how much let me let me because i'm just being like here's the here's the truth. Memphis historically is a terrible football program. Well you said it was terrible. Okay yes once. They committed financially to the program started throwing money at it built an indoor facility and making good hires i justin point day than mike norville now ryan. Silver field to previous coaches are now the head coach at virginia tech and florida state wants memphis got a president and an athletic director who understood the value of football of competent quality football and they invested in it. Memphis has been one of the better football programs in america. Alabama ohio state. I'm not being silly. Here but memphis has been one of the better programs in the acc played for multiple championships like in the title game and won it once and and they have drawn at a group of five level as well better than most in as well as just about anybody. So i get it like houston is also a good football program in the president or it has been in recent years cincinnati in the present. Ucf incredible campus in florida big enrollment humongous enrollment. Yes i get it. I wouldn't necessarily say. It is crazy for the big twelve to pick these for schools over memphis but i it memphis checks and a lot of boxes including fedex corporate sponsorship. I i can just tell you the people in memphis. We're working hard to try to get involved in this. It obviously did not work. I'm not saying it's a mistake for the big twelve to not take memphis but it is devastating for memphis to not be taken by the big twelve. There is no getting around. I was hey this devastating. But let's i'll ask you this question. I will also answer it though if you throw memphis in which forty you kick out. But that's the problem. I don't think it's obvious i don't. I don't think it's obvious. That's why i'm not sitting here. And saying they made a mistake. A lot of people have said they made a mistake. Mike de coursey. Our friend from the sporting news has said that you know the big twelve is making mistake. Not taking memphis. I respect that opinion. i understand it but when you say okay but you gotta pull one of these out to put memphis in. It's not obvious to me which one would pull out. That's just me being honest with. Yeah if i had to pick. I probably picked cincinnati. If you made me pick one that would probably be even. That's not easy. I mean cincinnati. Again we're talking about a top ten to twelve all time. Men's basketball program in the history of the sport the football program's doing very well very nicely located Historically not a great football program but you mentioned memphis is terrible. I read off. Were those football programs. According to the ap were all-time memphis was not in the top. One hundred percents. Ucf barely cracked up one hundred since he was eighty two. I don't know how much media markets really matter. But i do know they matter. I mean daily when decisions i this made. There's a lot of things that get taken into consideration enrollment. Ucf will now have the largest enrollment any big twelve school with the exodus of oklahoma and texas. We're talking like fifty thousand plus they're enrolled at ucf. So that's that's major your ability to have an obviously memphis has this but Significant donors boosters. I'm talking billionaires connected to your program that can that can help from an infrastructure standpoint. That means a lot your history. How well you can draw eyeballs. Obviously here the media market rankings according to nielsen among the cities where the programs are based houston. Houston's the no brainer number eight orlando were. Ucf is number eighteen byu which has a significant media market number thirty in salt lake city. Also the mormon population. I've been told that that's not an insignificant thing. More than five percent of the of the nation's population identifies as mormon and that also Went a long way also. byu tv which. I understand a lot of people may not be familiar with apparently is gets like for what it it gets really really good viewership and so that was also taken into consideration media market. Cincinnati is thirty seven. And then there's a little bit of a drop-off memphis comes in nationally at number fifty one and then the other school that i think would have deserved a really good look and did get a good look but didn't get it ultimately really good program boise number one. Oh two in media market would have been geographically the furthest away. It didn't quite make the cut. Their what memphis needed. I think yes for the big twelve to not want. Byu for whatever reason you might not want byu uh-huh or for byu to not want to join the this league in football for whatever reason byu wouldn't want to join this league in football memphis needed byu and the big twelve to be unable to reach an agreement. And then i think they might have observed emphasized the word might of might have been odor better shot but once. Byu's in and you and your byu to your point is a national brand like it is it it is. It's a big brand so once. Byu's in you take in three more. You can reasonably argue.

"To any other standard. I think that's a pretty good point that it'd be hard for anybody to intelligently refute. We'll say again. Whatever the punishment is is gonna stop way. Short of termination guy tweeted me to kentucky fan that a surprise you tweeted me and said quote. I'm sure mark few driving a school provided vehicle this grounds for termination with most companies. If you were driving a company owned vehicle while in while under the influence and acknowledged that you know in a vacuum. That's probably true. Here's the problem. With that comparison though gonzaga basketball is not like most companies and mark view is not like most employees and not saying that to be dismissive. I'm just stating as a matter of fact. So i'm assuming he will face the punishment but if you were expecting him to face the same type of punishment a amazon driver would face for driving an amazon van under the influence. You just. you're not living in the real world now. And i'm not saying that he should be losing his job for this For this offense. But i do think it is important as a university to send a message to the community to mark to the program and hold them to the standard than any other regular employee would be be held to here and i think i i have not spoken to mark but i would think that he he has realized really the error of his ways here and hopefully avoids any kind of situation like this ever again. I'm sure we have listeners. Who have who have done this as well please. To state the obvious that has been repeated ad infinitum in the past near decade. We are in an era of getting a ride home being three tabs on your phone away. You know the age of uber and lift not to mention if you happen to be somewhere with people who can drive you so please. Please please always exhibit as best. You prepare plan ahead. It's never ever ever worth it. And i'll get off my soapbox. No you're right though and like listen. I'm not an angel. I'd be lying. If i told you at no point in my life i've never got behind the wheel of a car after having drinks i've never had a dui I've never been arrested for anything but that doesn't mean i haven't done things that i should have been arrested for. I've been lucky. But the truth is like uber and lift their game. Changers like i am forty four years old married with three kids. I almost never go out by myself. But on the rare occasion that i do like i i gotta go meet somebody for in for drinks or something like that. I actually just sort of put it in as a the cost of doing business like i'm going out tonight. I'm going to have drinks. And i don't live like i live in a suburb. So we're gonna go to downtown memphis. That's to be thirty. Five dollar uber for me. Thirty five thirty four back. And i just sort of build it into the cost of doing business. It's going to cost me seventy dollars. Plus whatever i spend wants to go out tonight. That's the cost of doing business in just you know. That's that's that's the way operate now. Under normal circumstances it would cost me x. amount of dollars to go out tonight under these specific circumstances. It costs me x. Dollars plus seventy. And i just leave my car home again. I do all sorts of other things that are wrong. But like i feel like i've got that one in a pretty good place now and everybody would be smart. I think to to follow that that pattern before we get out of here i want to touch on the big twelve because at some point soon. Byu ucf houston. Cincinnati are expected to apply for admission and be accepted into the big twelve so big twelve a once again. Help twelve school but it could be fourteen temporarily if these schools join while texas and oklahoma is are still members. What this means is that the is losing two of its best basketball programs houston cincinnati in three of its best football programs. Those two plus two questions for you. Do you like this for the big twelve. And how big of a blow is it to the american athletic conference the big twelve. It probably did about as good as it could have done bill. I want to get to that with you and a couple of minutes. Here humongous blow. Let's let's focus on the american for a quick second here and and this is going to be the application processes going on this week. I talked to a couple sources about twenty four hours ago and yeah like the major steps that need to be taken. We'll be taken later this week to to move toward Getting done in the next couple of years where. Byu houston ucf in cincinnati. All join and. Yeah i'd actually love to see if for a couple years it's a fourteen team. Big twelve justice. Might that might actually be pretty cool if you're the american. This is fairly devastating because obviously the move is being done for football reasons. We can get into that but obviously going to look at it from a basketball angles. Welcome hello lou. That's what we talk about on this podcast there. But from the american standpoint cincinnati and football arguably has never been as. It's a good as it's been in the past three or four years right. Ucf in the past decade has completely ascended two or three echelons above what it was before that you lose those programs on the football side houston is taking a little bit of a dip now but it was good and it could always. It could always come back. And i'm interested to talk to you about actually houston's outlook going forward as a university as a program football and basketball wise. But if you're the american this is a yikes you're losing three significant programs and you'll have to start to consider what you can do to replace. Do you look at a school or to that. The big twelve probably looked at But didn't go with like do you try and Poacher boise state. You try and really go transcontinental and say you know san diego state and football and men's basketball particular has has a lot of promise there. I don't know it is. It is a ding I have certainly championed. The american as a as a major conference in the past four or five seasons but in losing these three programmes. It's hard to it's going to be in that. It's going to be reduced from a basketball standpoint down to it. Was i considered above the mountain west in the eighteen. Now it's gonna be it's gonna be Demoted i guess down to that level there so that that is a problem as for the big twelve. Hey how about this. How about we have twelve teams in the big twelve. It's it's such a crazy idea. It just might work. How about this. If you're wondering why these four the ap ranked the top one hundred football programs of all time in two thousand seventeen. Here's where they stand thirty four. Byu houston was forty eight. Cincinnati was eighty two and this is in two thousand seventeen. Ucf was ninety seven if you recalculated this ucf would now qualify all time as a top ninety program Coincidentally i last season ranked the greatest men's basketball programs in history. Cincinnati at number ten. Byu at thirty six houston at forty two would certainly get a bump up after making a final four just a few months ago and in no men ucf would dominate the list consideration. These four. make a lotta sense. Obviously we should talk about memphis perish not getting in basketball wise. It's an arguable. it's not only is it. Good enough memphis would be clear. Top four team in the big twelve. But that's not what's happening here. And i mean take a kind of any way you want because i do want to hit on a few different things but you know memphis to me not getting into the biggest headline among the schools that were left out and i think ultimately comes down to two things..

"A mari bailey. Who is committed to ucla. His mama's dick boy. Sharp number two right behind him really. Good not a surprise air. It's been long. Projected expected that shade would wind up going to play kentucky. He said a huge rise actually in the past year or so to get to this point. I mean a a year ago. He was not even close to being projected as a top ten overall prospect and slowly but surely quickly but surely i should say he moved on up there. I think he will be a wonderful wonderful college player year from now when we're starting to study prep up on our top one hundred one players in college basketball. It's gonna be very hard for me. Not to include shade sharp in the top ten of that list kentucky fans. You should be plenty excited about this. We'll see where we go from here. In terms of how does recruiting at the very top of it and getting shade and sharp. Some of it also is it. Depends you know the fact that you had a mani bates reclassifying. I get all that stuff. But when coach k. re announced that he'd be retiring after this forthcoming season. The column i wrote was that you know john. Calipari has got a great chance at here. Not just they've obviously continued to really well but we'll see if tiny can really become a true rival to this but kentucky has a real chance to once again be the program number one classes going forward. That's not where it's at right now with twenty two just because only to commit a lot of this comes down to the algorithm at two four seven uses and the math and all that kentucky's currently the eighth class in twenty twenty two but it's behind the likes of ohio state at one kansas duke carolina virginia has three four stars. And because of that right. Now it's the number five class muscles arkansas hogs at six. I you is at seven and then kentucky is at a rest assured kentucky is well on. Its way to having a absolutely a top five class and likely atop three classroom. We get to the end of that. So sharp wonderful player out of canada. I think he'll be a fantastic player. And a good bit of news here for kentucky this week and getting him as it sets up for the season without him in which they'll be a good team as well. If you trust the crystal balls it appears kentucky's gonna end up with the number one recruiting class in america. They've already got to commitments from five star. Prospect shaking chart number four thousand twenty two sky kark and that sky with two wise extra line of it. Why is it. There does even question it just embrace it and enjoy it because i sure as hell am i love it. Sky with two is sky. Clark number eleven. In the class of two thousand and twenty two and then the wildcats considered the leader for derek lively a center ranked number two in two thousand and twenty two chris livingston a wing ranked number five in two thousand twenty two. In case wallace a combo guard ranked number twelve and two thousand twenty two if it plays out like that and who knows if it will but if it plays like that kentucky will enroll five top fifteen prospects in the same class for the first time since. I'm not even going to do two thousand thirteen. That class was highlighted. Julius randle harrison. What a guy this would you go. Why because on. The kyle boone episode. He did a little trivia time on me and It was in this vein. But i didn't get it but he. He mentioned that very class. Because that class of two top five players but damn julius randle harrison twins. James young too carjon. All five of them were ranked top ten in the class of two thousand thirteen. Yeah and in retrospect good class. But i remember when. I was after that Pod b. i. Remember thinking like yeah. We made a huge huge deal out of that and rightfully so but ultimately you can sometimes see why recruiting rankings in the long term. You know not. Everyone's gonna pan out but if kentucky gets that class it will not be close. I love shade and sharp plenty really love derek lively and he says you mentioned he's projected to go there. He's now the number to recruit in the class of twenty two. We saw him play on jail endurance team with team. Final down north augusta and a fabulous player. He is highly anticipated to go and play for big blue nation. Next season and kentucky should be just continuing to roll once they get him and everyone else he listed there but sharp is the big one there and he'll be he'll be a one and done player. No doubt about it. The people at twenty seven sports are awesome. Like they're on top of this recruiting stuff. They know it better than you. And i do. I do have an issue with the way they handled team rankings by that point system because it doesn't always jibe with reality right now i'm looking at it and let me state the obvious who cares big picture. Not that big of a deal. But like virginia's got the fifth ranked recruiting class right. Now and kentucky's got the eighth ranked recruiting class right now. Virginia's class has three four star guys. So my fifty fifth sixty i in ninetieth. I put these two classes on the table. For you dead-leg you need to have three players. Fifty five sixty one in ninety or.

No. 9 Notre Dame Escapes With OT Victory Over Florida State

"Florida state. Are they better. They have to be better. They're down thirty twenty. They hang in there. George travis quarterback in a weird way they got back in this game running the football because notre dame stayed with a three down linemen formation and then florida states. Like this is what you're giving us. We're just gonna keep taking. It kept running the football down. But mackenzie milton if you remember him at. Ucf to top ten heisman finishes had played a game since november. Two thousand eighteen. He gets back in. It was the story of this game. A starts i think five or five numbers actually could have been a little bit better than that and they tie this game up and send it to overtime for state missed the kick at home. So notre dame's probably gonna pretty get no one's gonna care for state might be better. It's kind of one of those momentum losses when you've been down as florida state but you have the expectations that you should have when you're in tallahassee. But i'm not sure and again notre dame no one's gonna care because the playoff losses.

Where Does Derek Brunson Go From Here?

"Let's talk about dark brunson because he looked great. He dominates he submits darren till in the third round. He's now won five in a row. He's tear it up. And in the contextual sense. He has absolutely done enough to earn a title. Shot in fact. I will strongly argue. He is more deserving title. Shot than marvin vittori was when he got the title shot. Robert whitaker is next. Brunson could easily wait for a title shot. He could be a backup. He could be replacement fighter for that fight or he could go ahead and just take another fight. So where does derek brunson go from. Another dominant win. I'll be shocked if he's not at least slotted in as a reserve for the Sonya you would occur rematch when whenever that happens and it's not. It hasn't been book yet. We're all thinking early. Twenty twenty two. I'm sure brunson will be ready by then. I'm sure he's staying in shape. He's aware of the possibility. I know we said on another show recently. That fighters shouldn't take reserve opportunities. But i mean. I think they should if they're only if they're guaranteed show money and win money. It brunson gets that guarantee. I know that's not gonna happen. That's not how the ucf works. I think they might get their show money usually because they show up and they weigh in. So that's the minimum. You should also get your win money. I want that to be a policy in the usa going forward. And that's the case. Brunson one hundred percent. Be ready for that spot. He's he's definitely earned that for me. If he can wait. I wanna see him weight. This ideal situation that sonya and whitaker shah you're february the late and then And then we you know maybe brunson can get in there. I guess it would be may probably may or april which seems like a long time but if you can wait that long. That's how i would do it. I he deserves tell shot he should notify anyone else. Yeah i mean. I think he's absolutely unequivocally in the driver's seat for the next in line. Spot behind whittaker it's oughta sonya whitaker brunson then cannon air in my eyes and if i'm derek brunson like you said there's nothing more you need to do your next fight should be for the belt and you hope that robert whitaker doesn't beat israel ottesen it because then there's going to be a trilogy fight yada yada. Yada canadair needs brunson to solidify title. Shot brunson does not need cannon air to solidify his in my eyes for the sake of check the tapes and all that the ufc will probably make the fight between brunson and cannon air possibly put it on the same card is out of sonya whitaker. So that's why pick.

"Into taco fall. Has a home. For some reason it's the Cleveland Cavaliers. Yeah. That's the part that doesn't make sense. And that is clearly the big news of the day. That's so Bucky's buckle up. This is probably going to be what two, three hour long episode. We're break down tacos fit in Cleveland. I assume they brought him in to run point guard. Alongside a mobly and marketing and Jared Allen and they gotta have another big guy floater. Kevin Love. Throw him out there, right? No, Kevin Love, there it is perfect. Wheel them out. Yeah, Kevin Love probably played a three Mark and play the two point taco. Yeah, no, yeah, I mean, since we're talking about it, I don't get it. I don't understand it. I hope he makes the team. I was talking nothing but the best he is. One of my favorite people I've covered both at UCF down the road for me here in Orlando as well as with the Celtics. So I hope he makes it, but my guess is this is probably a camp thing and then he'll be playing for the I don't even know if they're still in can. They might not be, but the charge of the geo calves,

"Who better to bring in here. Then one of the major voices of college football for espn matt berry. He pretty much everything does a game. Every thursday night he Is in the studio. All day long with joey and jesse he does couple of award winning podcast and he makes time for us whenever we can get through his agent. Good afternoon matt. How're you call. Listen there's always some indicators that the college football season is near in for me. It's when i get the email from your sizable paul finebaum show staff and it's paul loved avalon to talk a little college football. I've just hours away from calling. Ucf boise stand on. Espn can't wait to get started. No his fourth catch with you. You don't want to start there because that's a really big game. And there's there's a report out this afternoon at Ucf could be headed to the big twelve. I know you're there to do the game. Let that potentially could really have a lot of the effects especially with texas and oklahoma. What what do you make out of that report. That has ucf byu let me. I'm trying to remember. Who else is in that. Cincinnati and houston in that. Yeah lucky me. You just rattled off one powerful independent byu a couple of group of five schools cincinnati. A lot of people think for a playoff spot this year because the schedule and then. Ucs tonight pot. You know gus malzahn. Well i spoke with him yesterday. As part of our coaches call. And it's no secret. Malzahn took this job because he was one a good fit for him but to hey knows that. Ucf is on the verge getting out of that group of five corridor and getting into power. Five football dan stand that the the winds are change. You're going to happen every year. We talked playoff expansion to twelve teams which would benefit. Ucf gus malzahn cincinnati. Luke fickle until. I'm not surprised in the least bit that. Ucf is coveted spot wide. Because it's the state of florida smack down to the central their orlando. There's a lot of talent this team who's is gonna feel tonight has a ton of talent. And so look it's it makes sense if you're in the big twelve and you just lost taxes and you just lost oklahoma. We're going to sit here and say that you're going to replace those brands with cincinnati. Ucf byu in houston but you do get a couple of teams that together can stop that bleeding just enough to still compete and steal it. Pretty competitive conference talking to matt berry. The weekend begins just a couple of hours. As he mentioned matt. The college football world has been obsessing over a number of game trauma to start with one. That i think could be the most intriguing i was. I was talking to you about a week ago today. On on your podcast. And you alerted me. Keep your eye on ucla. We saw them play quite well. And now a lot of lsu fans are maybe a little more anxious about this game especially with drastically terrible week down there in In in south. Louisiana the team having to relocate to houston. Give us a some more insight on ucla. Because you're not you're not just jumping on this bandwagon. You started it. Yeah i've been on chip kelly. The bruins for a while. And i'll tell you why a couple of reasons one. It's a usc town and everybody talks about usc keyed slow and klay help and all this flashy five-star talent but quietly down in westwood chip kelly at twenty players returning from a team a year ago. That didn't win many games but was incredibly competitive. Dt tr's coming back as a starting quarterback did look reading as to why but there were enough pieces in place for chip that these players understand what he's looking for understand his culture. Most importantly understands the offense that call the biggest thing for me. He brought in a couple of high impacts. Transfer saw that chardonnay last week against y allies. Not a great team. They're not lsu by any stretch of the imagination close but they have enough talent with guys at now understand the system. I set it all off season. I'm gonna say it again. I would put ucla in the same conversation with usc. Arizona state in utah in that. Act twelve south. And if i'm lsu strictly because that horrendous storm that that area had to deal with college kids getting up rooted the week in a game data houston to go practice there and work there. That's adversity for eighteen. Nineteen twenty twenty one year old gives that perhaps they weren't counting on during a game week and so lsu has to deal with the tragedy back home. Get on a plane go to ucla a school. That's already played well and beat a team. Last week i would be very mindful of what chip kelly as sleek. I'll tell you right now if you watch that game watch it in. The film didn't do anything special. Guest hawaii you're going to see really who. Ucla is this week. And i will not be shocked. Not only is this game. Twelve the fourth quarter but at ucla. To somehow pull off the upset. And i wanna stay there with chip kelly because i remember hanging around with him in the green room for your show up in bristol on sunday morning sportscenter. He's kind of a wily guy and you know he was a genius of college football and then we forgot about him couple of problems Failures with the eagles and then the ucla experience has been a disaster. But when he had going that there there weren't many coaches better than him. When you look at what he did oregon. I think one of the more remarkable things about chip kelly that because it's all james chip left oregon. He didn't have any five star recruits. He wasn't getting cave on tiptoe and some of those talented players that crystal balls get. Now he was finding the right player to fit his innovative office now. Having said that offenses and defensive caught up to a chip. Kelly was a decade ago at oregon but he is still smart enough offensively to wear now if you put that system in. La back yard and you can pick and choose so that higher caliber talent. What chip was doing in oregon. I think it's only the beginning. I really believe that it's gonna take time for tip to catch up to college. He was at the eagles by the way he went. Ten and six is first two years of philadelphia. Which gives you run out of philadelphia. He had to go on a little bit. The nfl a cup of coffee with the forty niners. So by my math. That's three or four or five years out of college ball. now he's got come back get caught back up to what the game is. And i think you're seeing that now and so. Lsu lsu's the more talented team. They're the better team. But you're going on the road to the rose bowl after trying week with a team. That's got confidence. Kit feels really good about where he is. This is that one team that we find every year. That's outside of the top twenty five three four five weeks into the season. We're looking at him at the top fifteen to wait a second. How did you get here. It's simple ready to play football this year..

"Ufc to sixty nine. It'll be the headline fight. No no word yet as to where the fight will take place. You would think it would take place here in vegas but i don't know it would be. It will be an unbelievable fight could be the best fight of the year in the ufc. And we've had some highly anticipated fights but obviously the leg break for conor. Mcgregor was a bummer and really stopped that fight right in its tracks. We've got some decent ones coming down. The pike some decent pay per views coming down the pike but that one will be a monster like people will definitely be circling that and being really excited to watch those guys go after it oliveira an amazing talent poor. Ea has been the interim champion. But not the champion champion in. He wants to be the champion champion desperately. So december the eleventh where we don't know but most likely i'm gonna say most likely that fight is going to happen here in vegas for the ufc. It is pushing the odds here on a wednesday. We've got a lot to common cling looking at week. One games including a game tonight and Uab against jacksonville state. I'm probably not going to be involved with this game. The line has is sixteen and a half. It's been climbing. The public has come in here and jumping on. Uab it was fifteen yesterday. It's been as high as seventeen. It's now sixteen and a half tonight with uab but a road. Favourite laying sixteen and a half. I know they're an fbi team up against an fcs team. But i'll probably watch this. I've already got one point of value in in. Ucf boise state on ucf minus four and a half of their game coming up tomorrow. The number for minnesota and ohio state is going down which is making me mad. I want that number to go up. Not down we'll talk. More about games tomorrow on a thursday in over fourteen for minnesota in ohio states. Big.

"And i think that's really important and i think the second sort of the second big idea kind of in this first finding that you uncovered this idea warrant that. Not only do we need to help. Churches acquire or ministries acquire new givers but also helped move existing donors. Kind of and your quote is up. The donor pyramid. You could say along the generosity pathway or whatever it might be whatever metaphor you want us what i think you've uncovered there. Is that we as a as a ministry as a church. We need to have a strategy to help. People take their next step in giving as opposed to well. I sort of I started giving. Maybe i set some sort of dollar amount. I on auto giving remember those old commercials with the guy who was selling those cooking machines online. It was just set it and forget it you know. I think it was wrong pope. He'll set it and forget it. A lot of people do that with. They're giving they sorta just sat it and forget it. And what you've uncovered here is that we really need a strategy to help people take their next step and move increasingly towards greater and greater generosity right absolutely and even the messaging we say to different people. Ucf is now involved with the project. Our next project. After this survey is is to study help churches and ministries studied their donors and an immediate difference. Were finding is that millennials gen z. if you speak compassion language and and you know make a difference In terms of social action impact language that they resonate to older givers have different triggers. And but if you're you you probably are speaking in your messaging to one particular audience and to think. Am i really speaking to the person who's who's put god first in their finances for years versus Am i speaking as often to the person who who's just taken their first step of of of giving i it's like my wife and i were greeters at at church last sunday and you know somebody came back and i said i haven't met you before you know what your name.

I didn't always feel the best at home appearance fodder in Just kind of had weird energy so where felt most comfortable with to be out playing sports and to be just like with this other kind of family. That's fatigue you know. I've just really flourished with that. That was away from you. Connect with my parents in certain ways like they've come my games matches whatever but Every sport i got predicts that you know not to have these great goals with them and everything but I always kinda catch my eye on another or in the end. Now it'd be like done without one to another one issue a couple at a time. It didn't really give either by everything but like still loves the there in. When i saw wrestling i was like what is that like. That looks so hard. And i just saw people totally overpowering each other like someone grabbing a person from their feet putting him on their back. If you're holding on their back long enough that you win in. I mean we're always physical playing growing up. My brother was king of choke slam you while he walks by and as for affection. Of course you know. We have that physical side of my family too. And i just looked at. That was like i wanted to know how to do that. Like i wanna i wanna. I wanted to understand that in didn't really see so much like a look around the room and only boys doing whatever that is. I want to know how to do that like i. I think it's interesting. And i thought it was practical in there. There's other places in times in my life where. I did feel a bit bullied in as this. This is the answer. This'll stop off that. You know if. I can learn how to do this. And you know no one will be able to do these things to me or anybody else. They care about it. Let's just how you know so

"Else. You have your UCF randomly. You have your coastal Carolina. You have your Cincinnati If you have you have your you have your big your power. Five Conference champion winners. Then you have whoever is the best that's left. It could even be the loser. The runner up of the S E. C championship, like if it's determined that, like those that that team is like the best Put him in there and then you have them as the six seed, just like, you know, the NFL were like You win your division and you get a home game, you know. I was there. Two other teams that don't get a home game, but still go to the playoffs out of those divisions and might have a better record than you, right. I mean, if you look at the NFC East, that's probably what they're gonna they're gonna host a playoff game. In the wild card. Whoever makes is gonna have a better record is gonna be like 11 and five team that didn't win the division. That's great, competitive division. That's that's what I'm saying, like we always know, like the big 12 in the Pac 12. It's always like a crapshoot because those teams always just play offense and no play defense defense and a lot of the times those teams were just overlooked. In that at this point, like, obviously, this isn't the way it's gonna be because I feel like eight is way too many. This is way too. Hmm. And that's where I think six is nice and tidy, because you could have the three through six teams like the 345 and six play an extra game. That's the reason like that's the difficulty that they run into. Then the top team would get a buyer game and the top two teams get a by the one and two seeds Get ABI. They play one last game. That's their advantage. Wherever they already get to go wander over to the Rose Bowl week early Or whatever you wanna call and you can even run these three year old three planes, six for playing five in a bowl game itself. They're gonna end up, you know, playing potentially three games toe be champion, but I honestly don't think that those players would care and the coaching staffs and when I would care if it means Getting it right. Mm. Mm. It's why you This is a great discussion. Because every year nobody can seem to agree on a number. I've heard 16. I've heard 32 teams of her 16 teams. Eight. I've heard six before. Heard stick it for. I don't know. I think it's the best. I think the problem with eight. This is just the way I see the problem with a every team's gonna play three games. Where's your advantage? You're okay. You're the best team. You just get the body. The eight seed Congratulations. Well, here's here's the thing, though. As an eight seed, you're still good. You're of course you're still a top 10 team in the nation. And you know, you never know. I mean, it's easier said than done. It's easier in the NFL, if you think about it, if the one if the number of the Chiefs played, uh we're the 10 seat is Let's just let's just call the Cowboys or something that in normal circumstances when the Cowboys were fully healthy. Nothing. You never know what could happen. But in college football, it is a little bit tougher because Alabama could steamroll whoever the eight seed is, But this year, it's interesting was the eight seed would statistically Florida So would be the S E C championship game. So it's It's always I think eight, I think is the perfect number because at the same time you're going to see teams have seen each other more than once, So that'll be fun watching team. Uh, it's hard to beat 33 times in one year. So could Alabama be a team where you know, playing Florida for the third time could knock off the number one team or it supplying each other for the second time. They know what they're know what to expect. I want to see that I want I want to see Alabama fall It becomes a chess match, right? Yeah, multiple games. I just want It's a zoo, much as I hate it like I want the best teams to be rewarded for taking care of their business, though, and they will make you but making the top seed play the eight seed and play the same amount of games is everybody. That's not an advantage for the eighth if you if you take eight teams, the first the warning to consistent get there by And you could still have the BRAC would just feel a bit. I mean, it'll be longer weeks and football, which no one would complain about and you could you still get your get the full experience of college football players, and when it's all said and done, you're gonna find the right team to win it all. So where were whichever way you cut it? The best tease. You come out on top. So whether that's 46 or eight or 16 or whatever whatever you want. I just don't know, disagrees. I don't even disagree with that. I mean, I've heard the 16 and I never heard that one that I like. I've heard it a couple times, but I've never never really gone in depth with it because the eight CEO is here. The one in to see to get the buy. And and, you know, just longer weeks and football, more revenue for the NC double life for the 16. It's little bit easier because of the you know the bye week separate. The four teams are the other two teams that didn't make the college football players originally with the four guys. But then you play those two games and now you have your top 46 is a great number eight's also great, so we'll see what they don't know if it can stay up for though I think it's gotta change. Four cannot be. You cannot stick this stay this way forever. It's gonna change. Eventually. The other thing is four is already the way it is. So it's just like it's just like challenging a flag. In the NFL. I already made the choice that for everybody was kind of happy. It's like all right, The BCS has gone good riddance. Like light the fire walk away. Put your sunglasses on and watch it. Don't even watch it explode. And now that you have before you have a couple of years of the experience of seeing what happens with four and you see those teams get snubbed. Yep. And now you need had to go through it. You need to have a foolproof answer before you ever do anything to change it. Yeah, you've had you gone through four. Everybody knows that enough. I mean, it's entertaining, but it's still not enough. Six or eight. Is the best way to go about it because everyone gets a fair shot. Everybody that deserves a shot at it. We'll get it and you also the problem. College football is that you lose one game in your season's over which which I cannot stand. You could make the playoffs. We see if this year was six wins in the NFL, and now you go 11 and one and you missed the playoffs. That's ridiculous. That should not happen. Any time anywhere. 809 23 93 85 Were you at with the college football playoff should be expanded. 18 6 teams. Do you like it at four..

"In for UCF. Reynolds and Walker come out. 16 51 left in the first half five all is the scores. Cincinnati will throw it in from the baseline with 14 to shoot. They lob it to the right elbow and vote passes left elbow. Davenport foul on extended left outside the arc. Williams down to the low block and vote throws it outside the arc for Davenport, three point shot off the rim twice. No good. Rebounded by Adams and UCF looks to run. Adams, the freshman hands it backward for green green pump fakes and three point range. Now Adam's driving baseline passes to Mobley up top for Green. Good defense by Davenport Green wheeling to the free throw line. Now Mobley outside the arc. Hands it off for Adam's stops passes backwards, three point shot good from long range by May hand from the 5th 3rd logo on the fifth. More like mayhem than may hand. He's two for two from outside the arc after going five for seven in the first meeting between these two teams, UCF has taken an 85 lead. Julius drives to the realm, lays it in and draws a foul can like I said before. I like to see him go downhill when he has the ball. He does a lot of left to right cross over and dances up on the top of the key. I'd like to see him once he hears that cross over and got the guy leaning Tacked down. He'll get to the basket like you did. That's a foul was called on Sean Mobley, his first Julius can tie the game at eight if he makes the free throw 16 02 left and a half Junior from Michigan puts it up nails it three point play. 88 is the score various Perry played in Louisville. The last couple of years. Dribbles into the front court for UCF Saunders defense Perry outside the arc right now, with the right point, Mobley, Isaiah Adam's between the circle dribbling with the left hand passes backward for Perry Contested three swish. This is hot right now, you're gonna just withstand the run. Continue to run your offense. Do you see a three for three from outside the arc and an 11 to 8 lead over the bear cats here. Saunders at the left point feeds it into the lane. Pope goes to the left shoulder. Lefty lay up is good easily could have been in and one He put that down and Was head down. Spin Move left Hand on the glass You see up by 1 11 10. We'll see if the nights at some point miss a three point shot. They feed it to the short corner and Adam's guarded by Davenport outside the arc from Mobley, who's two for two from outside the arc. Now it's green Mobley fires from straight away, Mr three point shot. He's the guy you want to shoot. It rebounded by Saunders, Cincinnati, down by one with the ball. Here's boat passing into the corner for Keith Williams. Feeds it to vote back to the bucket. Now up top for Davenport fakes with the ball had it poked away by Adams. The ball gets deflected into the backcourt on over and back violation is called in. John Brandon is saying He was knocked into the backcourt by UCF and the official is saying it was Keith who touched it before it went over the half court line, and then he touched it again once it crossed That takes us to the under 16 minute. "Welcome to a another episode of marketing. School I'm Eric Zoo and I'm Neil Patel and today we're GonNa talk about how your site may be fined fifteen thousand dollars by the United States government if you're in the US and here's how you can actually avoid it. So Neil. Do you remember what the thing is actually called? I don't know the exact name but I do know. People are getting sued over accessibility issues for the Handicap Yup. So here's what it is. It's called the section five eight of the Department of Justice's EDA. American with disabilities act standards for accessible design could expose your company to hefty fines and risk of expensive criminal and civil litigation as a reputation for being unfriendly to disabled. I've seen some people that have been fine. Fifteen thousand dollars. Plus by out even say predatory law firms that are just looking to make a buck right. They're looking to take advantage here. So you out to protect yourself. But what have you seen yet? I've seen a lot. I got text messages from people being find all the time. And if you'll on the NEIL PATEL DOT COM website I had this little icon I ended up paying per service called excessive access dot Com and you can click on it and it has a virtual keyboard accessibility mode stop animations you can adjust bond sizes readability emphasize titles the list keeps going on and on changing contrast screen. College Football Playoffs

"We mentioned were three three and a half hours away from the College Football playoff show on. ESPN where will everyone follow so much. Interesting where Alabama is going to be because I think we know who the top three are going to be joining us on the day of once again. Always great to have south on so seth. Let's talk about the the the elephant in the Room Alabama. What what do you know about them? And what are the are the projections. Now we think that Alabama is still very much in this playoff race and they're actually not in a bad spot at all we give him the fourth best shot to reach the playoff at forty one percent. And if you're an Alabama fan what he cares if they win out. Where where do you stand and at eleven and one we put Alabama Emma at a sixty nine percent chance to get into the College Football playoff? That's according the playoff predictor and I think it really comes down to their schedule which a lot of people knock it. We're we're saying is really really not as bad as people think if you compare that to say Oklahoma schedule Alabama. We'll have three games. that are tougher than Oklahoma's toughest games and toughest office game. And if you compare the two if Alabama eleven one and Oklahoma's at twelve and one according to our numbers is about twice as hard to go eleven to one Alabama schedule as it is to go twelve and one with Oklahoma's take that boomer sooner. Listen let's get to the next most asked question on this program Ken to SEC teams get into the playoffs. Yeah absolutely in fact not only absolutely we put at fifty six fifty seven percent chance of big thing the happened over the weekend was not just the Lsu Alabama game but penn state going down. That really helps open the door for the to put two teams in so there's a few different ways. He's this could happen. I mean I think the obvious one is is the one that most people think of. LSU continues to roll they win the SEC. Alabama gets at eleven to one but there are other scenarios. What of Georgia tr? You know what if they went out and they end up winning the SEC and And be an otherwise undefeated. LSU So there's a couple different paths for the SEC. And we think that some combination of those teams teams is a decent shot. The two of them will get in. So let's talk about Ohio State no issue because I was just gonNA use myself an example ask you to psychoanalyze. I analyse me and be nice to me. I had Ohio state number one all of a sudden. I go to Tuscaloosa Saturday win and I checked the box next morning. LSU number one. Explain the differences between these two teams. Paul I'm with you so I don't have much to offer. I can't call you crazy here today. I look here's the difference right so. LSU In Ohio state or wanted to record but if you look at that doesn't tell the whole story so Lsu and average top twenty five team to be undefeated with LSU schedule. We only think there's a one percent chance an average top twenty five team could pull that off whereas for Ohio state is a sixteen percent chance they had an easier road so much more They LSU tigers have accomplished much more than Ohio state and so to me they deserve to be number one Given the win in over Alabama. Now I want to get to Clemson for a second. Because they are the forgotten team of twenty nine thousand nine. They started Out as the reigning Champs Trevor Lawrence and and you know they play these Games on Saturday night and we all go okay. Is there anything else on. Because they're so dominant ever since that Early Season Sneeze against North Carolina so I mean they have any chance of missing plus so I mean. Obviously they'd have to lose wouldn't they. Yeah they have to lose but I think that if they do you end up with Clemson really being a lot of trouble. I'm with you. I feel like I've ever even talked about Clemson. Their schedule is so easy that If I was looking at it just now from top teams perspective. You look at Clemson's schedule it's easier than like Yukon schedule or two lane. I I mean you're talking about a bunch of group of five teams. Have easier schedules. Someone you know said to me and I so I ended up looking at. HOW WOULD UCF schedule two years ago? Compared to Clemson uh-huh in this year Clemson's is harder. Don't get me wrong. It's the eightieth hardest schedule by that measure and UCS was ninety six. But you're not talking about something that's that far off and so the point is look if they went out fine. They're one of the best teams in college football but if they lose we would almost be very unlikely at that point for Clemson actually get in so we don't have wiggle room speaking of unlikely the fact that we are talking now about Baylor in Minnesota might be the longest shot of the college football season so help us understand do either one of them have a clear path to the playoffs assuming they check all the boxes I think they have a clear path in terms of winning. The problem is just that it's really unlikely. That either GONNA win Minnesota specially we give them just a one percent chance to win out. They have a tough game at Iowa before having to go Face Wisconsin and the big ten championship game so Minnesota would be an underdog at three of its final four games. Here's the good news for the GOPHERS. Though it was I was just running the numbers if they were to lose to Iowa and then went out right so then that means beating Wisconsin and going and beating probably Ohio state in the big ten championship game. They would still have a shot at twelve one which stunned me. But at twelve and one in that scenario they would have beaten Penn state. That would have been Wisconsin and they would be no Haya state so we think they actually would have a chance to get get in the problem. Of course is what I go back to what I said at the top. It's just so unlikely that they're going to be able to pull that off that they have a lot of work to do before consider them realistic contenders. Just one more thing before you go. Let's talk about Georgia and I know they have a very tough game this weekend. At Auburn Auburn they get to Atlanta. I mean there are a couple of combinations about Georgia that say lose to Auburn and then they beat. Lsu where are they. Yeah that's a really fun. Scenario right I if they do that well. We think that Georgia probably would not get in as a two loss as he C- champion. What I think we'll be wild is that you could have a situation where to SEC? Teams could get into the playoff and neither of them would be the champion in that situation because Lsu can get in an Alabama could get in given the two losses for Georgia there. We think it would just end up holding them out with any other. Good teams Can they win if they win the SEC. With one loss there are there are almost guaranteed a spot that second loss would probably be the end for them in other words. You're saying Alabama fans are GonNa Screaming War Eagle Saturday afternoon. I think they ought to be absolutely always great to have you on your next Tuesday. Thanks Paul thank you and our most of our most anticipated guests of the week breaking it down okay. We don't make this stuff up a lot of people said you're just doing roll. winners in Hong Kong and of course that Japan cop at the end of the wasn't amazing evil clean I'll never forget it I mentioned you're thirty nine years if I do you have talked to reflect or just too busy seven days a week rice rotting and and rotting away may like winks you don't really get Tom to reflect as simple as that forget yesterday move onto the next day on very much looks forward not backwards anyway But I did tight Tom as we all know off two weeks as retirement to two months off we employees indeed and that did give me Tom to reflect not only on Wync spit on myself and my family and I think you know there was enforces might for myself in those closest to me other laws for we for that success to be able to happen and you know we won't get and later in the show but that's one of the reasons that Japan Cup win was you know very very special to me every will dive into wings a little bit later on but he started you apprenticeship with Rawson but Beth ninety seven you kicked in where you're a natural joke no it wasn't very far from it does natural horsemen natural raw reading how law I can remember the Pony Club from before school up until I define and up until the I just started right shorting really and at the idea of wells Lawson's windows fief doing in the school holidays and fortunately my parents had all the allman had a little bit of an association with Billy Ass Browse through through the eyes of when Neil Molly was trying and bill used erode from a grandfather father and he's waffling and trying to of course and was the leading trainer in the Central District at the Are Yeah I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to go with them and having billy as mentor and a God was instrumental in more development as a jockey because as I said it was very unnatural to me because I'd never had really any any experience in the professional sort of horseracing had Google's at the guy was fosters you could when you're young fellow on great holes for night absolutely tight control and bought with you but you can learn so much experiences remember I began with one and let it rip you thought all that adrenaline at the I was actually in the Paddick Moore other with the main and I didn't quote now what else in for to be honest when we winner in we've done a favorite a half pice together but we'd never really let one go yeah I'll never actually forget that the win going through the skull Cap and was a bit a little bit fraud to be honest but you'd left the Albanian edgy he was distant well he sort of went off before he saw Moore horse teams but all wasn't quite ready for the experience as a bit yeah also bit it goes through but it was something that certainly got more adrenaline going and students today who'd you love who'd you love growing up we gotta have role models to simulate the why we want to go about it and get your first period Jodi get your new helmet and then all of a sudden you rod in trawls as an apprentice then you get your ticket who is sitting back on the couch just white and have that I the rice is in Washington going to be that jockey wouldn't be Rice's Darren Beadman Darren beadman and billy I suppose when I was in Ba'athist but before I started my apprenticeship Darren and shine door were dominating the group uh-huh and I were the two that really captured more attention what was it a bad behavior in that you loved just the just he's strengths and he's consistency but as I said it as a four thousand fifteen year old I wasn't really paying attention local would these days but I guess the success and the fact that he in China just come on the best drawers and it was just tit for tat as to who got on the best one and I almost took it in turns chemically c'mon babe and left Android and slip it used to run a little bit short on up as underneath the chain the at the flower hey the billy Oughta look yeah I wasn't as attracted to the show on the white shine Reuters posed Darren because it familiar to say no little actual but he's a hall of Famer and he was very effective at it but familiar personally it was something that I couldn't see myself emulating Iraq and foot knee on Huey a lot of the guys Roy with the bull the Atto side that's Moi that's more for the ball at the guys across the Bolo Tie and that's the that's it what you'd like to rob with your foot running wise APP Well to be honest when I'll start to do that that's had billy road and that's sad download to in the early days I think he ended up running these telling you towards the end but certainly when all star he had full for me on but was always instructed Nelin certain terms they're all Mahfoud foot me on and that's exactly what I did and when I moved to see me after being to successfully easy and buses Leeann and billy we moved to Sydney in all of these more chance to develop into one of the big voice started drawing McCowan the on how to hold stumble was also Tallinn's actually that it just stumbled at the four hundred million American rain we can call Aubert's Hayden are truly believe foof four foot in the on or wouldn't have fallen off it so after six weeks on the saw lawns mirthless six weeks hurt mnay that welcome back back in and of never changed that was it suits you and your stall he say you move from the country the city it's a big big landscape China for you and fast hard but um took two thousand and nine nine year two thousand nine hundred eighty nine hundred ninety nine I should say in two thousand dollars rising seasons in two years year apprenticeship you become Laden apprentice you must have had great opportunities but made the most of it well how did great opportunity had a great granting hundred hundred wieners in the country opinion to Sydney to Rome Quinton in done in Raleigh June nineteen on as it was you just said and I had a great deal of experience but harm you had no country climbing provincial climbing to three kilo climate the city nail was the beneficiary of system charged with offenses which split the categories up to country provincial and city so a regained three kilo alantic provincials and obviously sustain the three kilo climate the country so that that guy I mean eighty winners decline that I wouldn't have had well it didn't have one on issues moved to Sydney so that that really opened the door for opportunity the deformity and yeah I'll think road at provincial Saturday meetings Kimmel Newcastle for four weeks once we got started within the ninety nine season and on the road three three trebles onto doubles and then of course the big boys went to Melbourne yep more opportunity in this in Sydney and had a great season winning the apprentices total exterior winners I think you might be able to help these sad Answer these questions what did we put apprentice on more Victoria and not in Sydney I think the cease to be different into the you've got more dominant China Zied me was even the case back then you had waterhouse and hawks dominating so if it suited them to use an apprentice I would but I tend to use the jockeys and that same sort of dominance has continued on in Sydney with a small number of China's dominating but also the realities the apprentices system in Victoria is far better than UCF wild north thing as much as writing ucs while I was gonNA heading every area that's one area that that all on the boards a working on but it certainly

Stop Losing Your Data with Brian Gill

"Thanks for coming on the show so I am I am interested in talking to you today because we really haven't had a guest talk about some of the topics that we're going to talk about today but why don't we start off a little bit with who you are and what you do yeah sure so without going into full back story. well I basically have surround myself with a bunch of really quality humans and together for the last sixteen years my primary mission has been to help the people out of data related disasters whether that's bad guys infiltrating network or data being stolen or a server crashing or making mistake and accidentally deleting all the pictures of their wedding or baby photos we are a bunch of Tech nerds who do everything we can to to help people out of those crises and also once they've kind of experienced those crises we help them either back up or sometimes they'll hire us as if they got hacked they'll hire us as we call it a part time see so or come in and do Kinda monthly risk assessments to help them prevent the next attack so you know it's just helping people out of Disasters Gotcha yeah well I mean as as somebody who has lost all of his photos and music for all of our music was in the cloud on a streaming service I can definitely level with that like after that happened to me I made sure to get an external hard drive live and of course today I have like a time machine on my Mac and back blaze and Nass and just like lots of things 'cause I I've been in that situation what I haven't been in is A well what my company or my clients knock on wood haven't really been involved in stuff like data-breach so it sounds like you do some of the more personal personal computing problems right data loss and recovery the recovery side of our business we founded back in two thousand four and we that's the data recovery company and that company it's a mix you know maybe forty percent of our clients are just normal people consumers who lost their personal data on a laptop or they dropped their phone toilet or you know that kind of stuff maybe thirty percent are small business owners with maybe one to fifty employees had a server crash or a chief executive ever accounting professional had a laptop hard drive crash or an SSD go bad and then the other third is large corporate America the government you know we've done recoveries for almost eighty percents of the Federal Bureau so it's pretty much everybody loses data on the data brief side of things we almost would I don't WanNa say never our average size client who got data breached is probably a hundred to five hundred employees may sometimes even larger for the for the micro sized businesses who get breached they're less likely to need an army of nerds to come in in an address that situation you know yeah yeah absolutely so so you you serve all sorts of people doing all sorts of things but I wanna get I wanna get back to the basics a little bit in your intro here so I also I have my degree in computer science I have a masters in software engineering and I went the web development path I when I was in college in Highschool I read like Kevin Mitnick's books and I thought man I really want to do that but ah I decided to go the other route what made you want to get into this particular field yeah I mean in general I got my computer science degree from University Wisconsin and that was like right before the first big tech bubble the first day web one point no and I jumped on a plane a and went out to the Silicon Valley and really wanted to play the startup game and joined a couple of startups one of them's still around that were you know involved with ECOMMERCE and that kind of stuff and you know I was primarily on the back end development style database design and things of that nature and a lot of back end programming I my four was not my forte was not the kind of user experience all of that's kind of changed over the years when that whole economy just imploded and all the valley was horrible place I mean I would say eighty percent of my friends were out of work I had a job but it wasn't star was in a bank so I had a job but it wasn't the type the job that I moved out there for so I kind of tucked my tail between my legs and say well I'm GonNa work at a bank I might as well do it in Wisconsin from from immoral my family is my brother had just had a couple of kids and I wanted to be there for that and I just wipe the three thousand dollars often read so I I talked tail between my legs Humpback Wisconsin and was just doing some consulting some really boring but wonderful companies like insurance companies and cheese manufacturers and all kinds of words and I really wanted to start a company right but the Donovan was in the crapper there was zero percent chance of getting any kind of bank loan so I knew I needed to do something that I could bootstrap uh with like the fifty grand that had saved up you know so whatever I was going to do I needed to be able to get to revenue within my within my budget right because it's just I wasn't going to get an angel financing I wasn't GonNa Fifty Thousand Dollars Angel Financing for a new idea they were going to take if your business back then it was just a horrible time to be an entrepreneur so my brother tyler younger brother Tyler was going to school at University Wisconsin ucf degree he's about nine years younger than me and he had a hard drive crash so he was trying to figure out how do I get my stuff back and he found two companies in the whole us that advertised for it and both of them wanted like three thousand dollars and that was like again exactly you know turns out it's pretty hard but we had the right circle of friends we had one of my buddies was an electrical engineer ear one of my buddies was a mechanical engineer I had the computer science and kind of ECOMMERCE background and we kind of had all the pieces of the the kind of academic puzzle so the next question is okay so there's very few competitors in the two that are out there that we could find were very prohibitively expensive so could we start a company for less than fifty grand learn enough about how to do this that we could serve underserved part of the market right and get it off the ground and and that's kind of where it came from and turns out we could that's fantastic I love that I have I have a similar story of how I got into web development you know essentially my church came to me and they said we want a website and I said I don't know how to do that and then we'll pay you and Mike are okay sweet money's yeah

Students graduating in these states are drowning in loan debt

"All right if you are new to the show this by the way is the most popular segment of the show with Tony saw on the news and much like Chris as I scour the news throughout the course of the week I try and put aside couple articles that pertain to what we do here on the radio show or that I think would be of interest to folks and this is something near kinda sort of that we've talked about before on the show in various forms Chris yeah but this comes from USA today this was just the other day you not you Chris but you of you listening may have seen this yourself if you get USA today or USA today online about one fifth of millennials and we talk about millennials a lot here on the program and not necessarily in a negative way like some people do but just because they're the next generation to save up for retirement and it's a big you know get to where we are absolutely one fifth of millennials expect to be financially reliant on of their parents into their thirties ally and the other reason we talk about millennials a lot is because Chris and I have millennials yes we do all right now the second half of this is about us so one fifth of millennials expect to be financially reliant on their parents into their thirties and most parents say it's embarrassing if their kids are still on their payroll at the age of twenty seven twenty seven now you and I were actually talking a little bit about this during the break and we came to the conclusion that maybe twenty seven is like the new twenty one yeah well it's only six years difference right when we were growing up it was like twenty one that's it your twenty one year man you're on your own you know right so at twenty one I was still in college so my parents like paid for my car insurance and helped out of course but we didn't have cell phones we don't have all the stuff right so you I I guess you look at it and you say you know sixteen driver's license eighteen can you drink when you're eighteen no not a twenty one twenty one right you can drink right twenty seven you have to stop taking money from mom right that's just the way life works that's crazy if your kids yeah I gotta pay for your kids Stiller twenty seven if they're not in school if they're in school and I get it well and that's where parents a cutting them off because a lot of the millennials think they'll be living with their parents into their thirties but a lot of parents are saying no no no twenty seven that's it the study examines the state of young adults money habits and attitudes in the United States the data suggests that young Americans are powering through a series of financial challenges including a lack of budgeting and decreasing savings tied to mounting student loan debt you know you keep hearing about student loan debt all over the place and Mike my question is at what point do we have a break even situation where we say you know what it cost so much to go to school the same worth it to go to school anymore but and not only that but you have options to this is something else we've talked about on the show when you know planning Hey Chris I both have kids in college right planning for your children to go to college is a major major financial undertaking sure you know and you keep hearing about all this mounting debt college loans and everything but you have a choice I'll use myself as an example okay you know my son is going to a different school than we thought it was going to go to just because I was a lot more financially advantageous sure you know so people do have the option like yeah this is a great school but it cost sixty thousand dollars a year if you go to a state school in state school at least for us here in Florida maybe it costs twenty thousand a year right and guess what if you go to community college or whatever they call it now state schools state college you know it costs maybe five thousand a year right you know so so there's ways to do it you're saying without unnecessarily bankrupting the whole family right right yeah and I that's right but I also think that there you got to focus on now some people are gonna hate me for this but you gotta focus on majors that have potential of paying you in the future I agree with what you're saying to at what point like if you're going to go to a school the cost forty or fifty thousand dollars a year to be water want to single anyone out an engineer but now if let's say you go to a really expensive school and you major in something that you know is not necessarily going to pay a lot of money right like you go to a some big some some big school you pay fifty thousand dollars you're going to be a social worker or something right you know and as social workers are important yeah yeah yeah nothing against the socially organised but you're sixty thousand dollars to become a social worker you're gonna make twenty seven thousand dollars a year in your tech companies fifteen top right then you got a problem as far as trying to pay that back and that's why you're living in mom and dad's basement right right but we don't have basements here in Florida so that means that they have to live on the main level which became all the more paying fifty sixty thousand dollars a year for you know a political science major and then you're going to figure out what you're going to do with that degree right you know general studies I mean you know maybe you shouldn't go to a school that's that expensive unless you have a real specific high paying career that you focused on right so we got people graduating from college that are on the payroll of the parents but then also we have situations now where the parents are having to take care of their parents right right right that's the other side of this story there is actually a generation people around our age that they called the sandwich generation now huh which means you're sandwiched in between taking care of your adult kids and taking care of your elderly parents while but there's a lot of people listening there in that situation yeah that is a rough rough situation to be in yeah hi I wonder if if it would make sense you know I I have seen things like I I have a son at UCF and I get all of these announcements Sir notifications of these things that they have boot camps coding boot camps have you seen these yes so if for like ten grand they're going to teach you how to code in certain languages and then they say with that information you can just go off and get a job doing that which is a pretty cool deal but they're kind of St you don't need that I guess you're not saying this but they're giving you an opportunity to get a skill that will allow you to get into the work force and you don't have to take classes in history and yelled language and all of those are the kinds of things that some people just don't really want to do right and that can really reduce your costs there but when you think about somebody that is is trying to figure out how to generate an income but doesn't know Sir I want to spend fifty or sixty thousand dollars on college maybe a boot camp you should think about this a great segue is is trading I mean what if what if up a parent and their child came trial I see child adult adult child right actually came to the academy and figured out how to treat together that's a great idea right let's say you're a millennial I don't know I just pick ace let's say your twenty six years old you still living at home you're at a school you living at home with your parents you hate it you want to get out on your own and now you parents hate the fact that your twenty six years old
