"Two man game going right now and Jalen sometimes plays with them for very few minutes and they play well. But you know it's just you got Luca any you got balon. Yeah we don't really have a spot for Jalen will in Hitchin he struggled. Sometimes it's like his mind isn't right. He makes these decisions decisions. He looks like a rookie. This year yeah we did yeah. It's like dude. Where's your head at like? It's just bizarre. It's not like a sophomore slump. Yeah but it's not like he's playing poorly like he's missing shots or whatever. It's his decision. Making is so opposite of what what it was last year last year. He was really solid but this year. He's just doing some crazy stuff to be fair. He has also had some really good games like against against Milwaukee in Milwaukee he had I think thirteen points and eleven assists or something. He played really really well and he's had some other moments. It's where he's played really well but he's had a lot of moments may be more that he just like against Toronto. He literally got the ball and froze. Who's just go in? That really. Just killed him. Okay so I want to move on to this other topic that I've kind of been thinking about and okay so we talk a deep so we talk a lot about the start of the universe. We talk a lot about Powell and and you know we're not really high on him just because of How he struggles defensively and I think we focus on that and don't We we don't value as much. Why what? He does offensively as much as to anything but I was. I realized really the reason. Why feel that way is? Maybe I'm comparing this team too much to the championship team. And the probably the best center that the mavs have had with Tyson Chandler. who was a defensive anchor he actually kind of a lot like kristaps? Defensively and Powell little is so opposite of that that I think I'm I just want him to be like the guy that I'm used to and I realized maybe I should stop comparing this team to the championship kinship team because really. There's more than one way to win a ring. And so maybe he's not Tyson or or a defensive anchor as a center but but porzingus is. Yeah maybe that's okay and so I went through the past ten seasons the championship teams and looked at who was there center and then so like. What kind of center was he? So going back to two thousand ten and it's interesting as I go through this list you'll see how the league chain uh-huh over just the past ten years so two thousand ten and was Andrew. Bynum like the quintessential center. Yeah Big Dude Canister Yeah. Yeah inside defensive. Guy Doesn't eleven Tyson Chandler kind of the same thing but not posting two thousand twelve Chris Bosh and Joel well Anthony so not as much of post ups and really not as much defense but a guy inside. That's really where Bosh liked to play two thousand thirteen eighteen. Chris Bosh again by this time he was playing our. He's a spot of. Yeah just shoot at this point. He shooting more threes two thousand fourteen. Tim Duncan obviously and heat. That's going going back to the stereotypical center. Kinda Guy Two Thousand Fifteen Andrew. Bogut who yes. He's a big dude inside inside but it's not like he played inside offensive. No he was more the defensive anchor. Yeah Yeah Two Thousand Sixteen Kevin Love Slash Timothy Mas. Pskov and Salt Lake. Yeah you had the guy that was kind of inside. I mean it was mostly Kevin Love so not a lot of Mas Gov and then he is Kevin Love. He's really an outside kind of player. Two Thousand Seventeen Pachulia doesn't count. Yeah I mean you could say the defensive guy inside but it's not like he was like ten minutes in it and then he wasn't like the defense. It's not like you needed to fill spots and then just as an eighteen it was kind of Zaza David West Javale also. Oh sort of that type of guy but not at the level where you're like. Oh we rely on him to lock down the defense and then in two thousand nineteen. It was Ivanka and Casale kind of shared again. Like you had that defensively. But then offensively they could play outside so I mean my point was that was like okay so there have been in some guys that were definitely that guy inside but then you had years where it was like Kevin Love and Chris Bosh guys at played outside outside and defensively. They weren't the big bruising guy so I was like you know yeah maybe Dwight Powell isn't Andrew Bynum but does that really matter like do you need that to win a championship. You can't like people have won a championship with that. It works but there's more than one way to do it and I think they're just trying to do it the other way yet. My my thing with with Powell is that I don't like when people say he's so important Horton to this team. As if Powell does something that makes him important. When he doesn't accept with Carlisle tells something to do which is on a pick and roll? Scroll he does set good picks he does but he says better pigs than Chris. He's not he's not a a guy. That's that's not replaceable. Like can replace Dwight POW. There's a better version of Dwight Powell out there who can do what he does and also be you you know. So that's my thing with Powell is i. Don't like when people defend him saying how great of a player is because when he's on the court the Mavericks offenses this when really. It has nothing to do with Powell. But except the mavericks offense and Luca and they kind of player that needs to be in that spot not taking anything away from him but he. It's funny you mentioned comparing it to the two thousand eleven team because in a way it is still that way. It's just kind of the rules are different. For example on defense. Tyson Chandler is porzingis or porzingas has chandler on defense. Yeah but on offense porzingis is the dirk. I know he's not dirk people. I'm just saying you know. As far as the way the offense and he'd takes Dirks Role Powell on defense takes Turks role where he's not and then on offense he's Tyson's role so it's just kind of. Yeah right you know so you still have his thankfully all Tyson did was set really good screen and roll. Yeah and you get a lot of all UCS with it. Yeah but defensively he was the anchor will now. Oh you have your anchor and Porzingas but your role guy in Powell and then they switch on. Yes so I know. That's kind of Martin. Confusing things blew my mind. I'm just saying you just absolutely blew my mind. It's not make it weird anyways now. That's a good point so that to me is is kind of the way. And that's Carlisle's offense. You need a rim roller and you need a force pacer at the four. Yeah it just happens to work out where Porzingis is a really really good rim protector. And I think another reason why the mavericks like POW and Cleber is because of their ability is because of their ability to guard smaller athletic guys especially yes and so when you hand porzingis out there sometimes. The other team is a little bit smaller in so Powell might get stuck guarding somebody that may be quote unquote could be a wing draymond Amman last night against the warriors but they can do that because they're kind of small for their position and they move. Well may move well and and I saw that I think is also why they see a lot of value in him. But I mean honestly you put Mantras Herrell in that role and it takes exist team to a whole `nother level when I think like you were saying the thing that bothers you. The most is just it. Seems like people overplay Powell's as if he is untradable most he's not like let's let's stop giving him credit. He's sometimes well. He does the job will he catches it and put it in the goal like he all. He does his role that's all he has to do. Sometimes he does a little finger. Roll when you're like dude just dunk it but that's personal preference. Yeah but you're right there would end so either way. Yes you're right. We do compared to the two thousand seventeen because obviously and the celtics next to the same when they won in two thousand and I was saying this a few episodes ago I think every every team. Yeah every fan base does that they compare their current team came to their last championship. Like the Lakers. Were trying to build the way the cavs 2016 team did so on and so forth. So yeah so that was I realized that the other day I was like you know Powell. He's just he's just not that defensive anchor but then I was like wool posing you. Yeah like there's more than one way to win a championship and then also it ties into carlisle's thoughts on relying on the post he said you know and everyone has rathers quote about how I was just an. It's an inefficient shot. It's not the way that the League is nowadays. And the Chris's me making an assumption. I don't think he means. Is it like we never want to run a post play. Because they do run post place I think you just. They don't want to rely on it because it's a really tough shot which equals inefficient Russian. If you can get a wide open three in the long run your points per possession like the odds are in your favor. Well in his point you know he'll use is it in certain instances but this whole thought like the TNT is when the mavs come down porzingis demand the ball. What are you talking about? Lake think he's not shack. You know he's not anybody else that played that way. Just nobody plays that way anyway. So again I'm going to go back through the last ten championship teams ever GonNa do the same thing with the post players. Okay okay to to show again. How the League has changed? Andrew Bynum Pau how how tall. Yeah two thousand eleven. You had dirk in two thousand twelve you head Bosh a little bit in two thousand thirteen. He was spaced out more dozen fourteen. You had Dunkin. Was that two thousand fourteen Dunkin. You weren't just giving them all and they shot a lot more threes. Yeah Yeah Yeah by two thousand fifteen the warriors who was there dominators no one into sixteen the cavs Kevin having long two thousand seventeen warriors ago. I mean maybe Kevin love with Kevin Durant rely on. Yeah and the same thing chosen eighteen thousand nineteen with the raptors. Their best player is why that could do it right..

Dirks Role Powell Chris Bosh Andrew Bynum Kevin Love Tyson Chandler Carlisle Tyson mavs cavs Luca League Jalen Porzingis Hitchin Mavericks Toronto Tyson Chandler. Tim Duncan Milwaukee Dunkin

"It's time for another edition of another one Lundberg show the rumors reports and ridiculous from the week that was years robin Lundberg Anthony with upper bowl right so lebron James as Lakers point guard no imminent plans as head coach Frank Vogel what's the best line up for the LA Lakers next season I think their best line up will be Anthony Davis cargurus most lebron James Danny green and I'll see Casey P. right now someone to guard the opposing point guard I like the idea of lebron as the point guard not that he hasn't always been the distributor for teams he really has always been the facilitator I I think that was Vogel being upset that information's even out there this far in advance he wants to look like he's in control of the team but I I think their best line up would have lebron there because that means rondo's not playing their best live definitely does not run and it would mean you your surrounding lebron and Davis was shooting which you could do with Danny green and and with another school were in cruise now and with that the third guy you'd put there whether it's a brief Bradley KCP it's got to be somebody to guard the opposing team's point guard I think that will be some variation of that will be the Lakers closing line up I love Danny green for that team I thought that was a tremendous signing they may start with two bigs they could start with a bully ball line up with with cousins but yeah I I think that the most effective life is gonna be Davis at center lebron is the primary ball handler in the classic lebron James offense at the top of the key and the rest of the guys spreading the floor and one of them having to to be able to guard the point guards defensively another one Chauncey Billups said a brutally honest take on why Carmelo Anthony is it in the NBA scoring thirty may two much said Chauncey Billups would you make of twenties comments sounds about right the new the Carmelo Anthony is a sure fire hall of Famer that a lot of people are going to feel great about that's basically what it is and you know I try to give middle of the benefit the down okay see a in Houston that that most recent stop but it didn't work there and in the probably to work there for the same reasons very reminiscent of Allen Iverson at the end of his career and it really get a lot of ways Carmella played like the big man version of Iverson the you know the difference being Iverson had more of a cult following and Iverson I had the two thousand one run to the finals no it doesn't have anything like that but the way they went out very similar and and mellow wasn't able to to take a backseat and even remember was a star you know he and d'antoni had that beef you know it in a sense because during when sanity mellow didn't seem to want to fit into what they were doing with that high screen and roll action with Tyson Chandler he did with Mike what's in the next year and that was the most successful run he had as a member of the.

"It was almost very nearly a Laker. Yeah. I think that could be possible Washington when they traded for him were under the guise of we want him to be part of the program moving forward. Then John wall gets hurt. Right. And that changes everything time line. Another guy we forgot Tyson Chandler, does Jalen, I would say, yeah, but I don't know how much less than thirty eight thirty nine. Rudy gay. Wouldn't be at the top of my list because of his age. I like skillset ABC's smart player. But it would be I would get a lot of teams hang or camp, Saharan me first before I give the money to radio. Okay. Jonas direct boat, Jericho Kirk sky, you'll should Cool call. guy. Oh. No, no, no, no. K what about a return to Los Angeles for Austin rivers? All that's right. Also agent I like him. I do in a Laker uniform defense is can create his own shot, any defense. Yeah. And shoots. Okay shorty about him. Yeah. Been through some some interesting teams role player the starter. I think we're both on your side with us rivers not. Not. Wesley matthews. Okay. Yeah. You shot Wilson Chandler. Okay. Justin holiday. That's intriguing name. Yeah. I mean, I think you could have something there. But. Yeah, that's intriguing. I like it. Darren collison. Yeah. Yeah. I think he can play. Yeah. Yeah. Shoot. And I mean, the same thing with Kemba like talking about maybe a little bit of a problem in the playoffs whatever, because of his size but he does better defensive instincts. I think yeah and can get you into offense when LeBron's on on the floor and he's played on teams with success. Yeah. Bench quarter. He's vet minimum for sure. Yeah, I love in scarred as I had to say, yeah, I'm not, not know how much he'd bring you love. I love your boy, Carmel incident -solutely. Drop. Something with the. No. Come on, like that needs to happen in LeBron playing together, camello shouldn't go out the way he did. He's one of the best scores ever to play the game bring him in. And by the way, this is the most mellow situation for him. Right. Lebron's here vet minimum championship squad, right him able to give you a game here there. That's all you need, right? Yeah. I'm with you on that. I made on the mellow train in that situation. Let's get to the phones real quick. Guys. Make it quick for Dave ready. We're gonna play a round of day. David tell you. Let's go to Frederik LA, go Frederick. Frederick. Hey Dave, how you going to have you believe father's eighteen you guys real quick day? Wondering isn't anyway way we can do a one on one with the workers. There's a way I don't think he'd want to do that. I think most of those guys, the Ford guys, I mentioned Colli Kemba, Jimmy in Cairo would all be interested in a two, plus one. Right. They get back into a ten year plus give one year of insured, in case unhappy because that way they just maximize their dollars that makes because then all of a sudden in two years, they can get the Kevin Durant deal, which is in theory starting at thirty nine and a half, which in two years, we'll probably be close. We'll be over forty that's my because it's gonna keep going up right? Maurice in Long Beach. Go MAURICE asked Pang hay day going on guide to be a part of the community to questions day one. What impact does the luxury tax have in signing any of these free agents? And then to one player, you guys didn't mention that would be a perfect fit in my mind would be. Parents. Roth what do you think about that day? So it was your second one. Terrence Ross is good name. That's a name that has been discussed in again. He has Vogel connection..

"Quami brown. It's true out number one overall. That was not a great pick. No. That was a bad draft though. If you remember back that I think that I think that the grizzlies to pogo soul third. He was like the only really good player out of that top group. I think because it was like Tyson Chandler Eddy curry, it was a tough one name three that. I'd rather have into the Quami Brown. Yeah. I think Shane Batty was the sixty m j struck out on quantity Brown come on. Let's be mean. Yeah. I mean, let's that's their job is the nail these picks. I like I really liked Broncos this Europe tone, some people around town how much I like Denver just because anytime you get rid of a really terrible coach the the whole team just get so much better. The whole culture changes we saw last year in Indianapolis with them getting rid of Chuck Gano. And we saw a couple years ago with LA getting rid of Jeff Fisher. And I think we're gonna see it in Denver. I think we're gonna see it in Green Bay. And I think we're gonna see it in Tampa Bay this season where they got rid of really bad coaches bringing in some fresh blood. I liked the Broncos. I just I hope they don't take a quarterback because I like them a lot less if they do take drew lock if they take a another player that can help them the season that would certainly make me like them that much more. Don't disagree. We've seen especially in the NFL. We've seen so many worse too. I so I'm okay there with that with that prediction. So. There's a lot of I mean, so tied-in TJ Hopkinson out of Iowa nine and a half seems pretty high. I would take over their plus one ten. Yeah. And that's a player that edit myself, really we really liked that guy a lot we think that guy's gonna be a super NFL player. But you know, what's kind of interesting about that one though is of all the props..

"So what's going on at your in Utah, Utah you call them alone? Common loan com alone. The great state of Utah. Where it is a balmy fifty degrees today. We just got word. Lebron is not gonna play tonight. I could've told you that last night when he didn't get on the plane. Oh is that right? What I had the early skews on. Now, we stayed in LA. Yeah. I wanna I want in the morning show this morning and told him, I guess people. Do you know does anyone listen to that show? I mean, I I'm a big morning show guy. I love the morning show. Don't be picking on the morning show. Not saying that I mentioned on the morning show. And you said that you just found out is breaking as far as I'm concerned. Just only about so that means it's new to me. Yeah. He didn't come and Tyson Chandler didn't come and then Reggie Bullock and Mike moose Scala are both questionable. So Steve Wego in tonight. Extremely shorthand. Oh, this is going to be a slaughter. It's gonna be water. Oh, come on get watch the game last night. Did you see Lance Stevenson? I did see land. Stevenson, put Jeff green in the spin cycle. Here is the call Lance Stevenson and Jeff green here. Stevenson, dribbling at the top of the key with ten seconds to shoot Stevenson moving. Right. Steven's step back. Oh. Jeff go there toward at half court that will be on every highlight show in the country land. Stevenson, you Jeff green to the point where green fell over backwards and then Lance buried it in the Laker Ben when hysterical historical the whole stadia wet grazing. So that's is that a season highlight that is the season. Highlight. There is no highlight that will top that in a season full of disappointments that what now I have a bring back Lance bring back home. I have a I have a I guess what would you call it? I have a tactical question for you. All right. Go ahead. I'm good at. Looked closely not even closely. If you just look at the review. How should I put this lane stepped on his foot? Yes. They're just does that does that weaken the highlight in any way? Well, I mean, no it does. I mean. Yes, we know that he stepped on his foot, but we just have to buy it. And pretend like didn't happen. Throw us a bone. Yeah. Come on. It's been a long year yet. I mean, it's been watching the wizards. The wizards are like the Lakers of the east. Are they will they lost John wall? They lost white Howard. They traded on for her. Trevor REEs got hurt in the first quarter last night..

"Miss. Mr. don't get too friendly. Go ahead. And so my thing is this. I'm a friend LeBron James play with him as a teammate and also hosted. So I have all the spectrums so at norm as a person off the court as a teammate, he's tough. Okay. Sometimes he holds his teammates to a higher standard, sometimes it rubs you the wrong way as a coach he was a great player to coach. Okay. A guy with a high Q he put the time in in the film room. Everything he expects the same thing from his teammates as well as coaches. I don't think that he's a coach killer. I don't think he's a bad teammate. He's been great in all facets of my career friend coach and teammate. I said before that soundbite said amazing what it's done is community. Unbelievable. He's done building his school building his brand showing players how to be more than just the basketball. All those things are credible. Verse of the stuff that you've done Jaylen quite honestly and giving back to his community not separate himself community. And you know, what I'm sure he was a great teammates. And I'm sure it was fun to coach for you. But you know, what that was then that was that the brand James sent your league. He's playing with a group of dudes that were one and two years old when he came into the league he is the leader of that he came to LA. He's the face of that keep I don't care you coach for bunch of years. You take a guy you put him at the end of the bench looking at the statue. You take a guy who's face of your organization put him at the bench, and he's talking to Tyson Chandler and getting laugh of all the games going on. It's just as easy. From a brand James to do that. Or is it even easier for him? He doesn't have to be in the huddle. But he's got to be part of it. He's mentoring these young kids. And I heard about you know, he took him to dinner. He went out. That's great. What's the optics of that? What about you? Don't you're gonna say LeBron James who he is whether you can say role model not gonna say that next year, you're going to see college guy do that. You're there's a right and a wrong way of doing things and those seventeen those kids that he's playing with now that were two and three years old. All right. They are generation Y gets and LeBron James your generation of millennials. I'm going to grow up totally differently. And those young kids aren't they're not following him. That's just the way it is. They might go to dinner with them. But you know, what when they said, you know, what I also, but the manner in which that happened he totally splintered that locker room, and you can say is not a coach killer. But I'll tell you one thing. By sitting at the end of the bench. What is he saying to Luke Walton he said, you know, dude, I'm not part of this mess. This is on you. We'll bring my own guy next year. That's what's happening. Well, I'm going to say this those kids that you're talking about they're professionals. They have to go out and do a job and LeBron James in his sixteenth year in the league. He's not a babysitter. Okay..

"Now, we know the job yet. But they're going in the right direction. There is hope on the arise it. There's no reason to sit there and summarily dismissed the New York Knicks as non players in the equation. We'll have to wait till is some of the see how things unfold, but there is no denying. The New York. Knicks crippled technically be aiming in the right direction. There were part of the rumor mill Kevin Durant. Kyrie Irving Kimball. Walker? Anthony davis. There were part of the rumor mill. So when you look at organization it's going in the right direction. But here's the problem. Right. When something goes, right? There's always something Rona goes on with Dolan. New york. Knicks trae porzingas clear cap space dollas in the news Bannon, the new York Daily News reporter. Dolan. I'm thinking about selling they'll or you know, I've had bidders rather. That were willing to give me an excess of five billion dollars for the New York. Knicks tease it folks into believing. Somehow some way you're going to get rid of yourself, which is what most New York knick fans would want. Now, you got something like this. You know is pretty damn bad. When the New York Post writes, an article about you, and how you're fighting with the new York Daily News, you know, it's really regressed. I mean, Jesus you can't make this up. Doling for what why why are you in the news? To relieve everybody low. Did you go leave it to Steve mills, Scott Perry? You want to a game you go to a game and your accident and going out to anyway, and you can't ignore fan. You can't ignore that. This is the problem with the New York. Knicks Dolan presence because it's such a joke. It's so maligned it's going to affect potentially free agents that might wanna come. That is what I am worried about. Now to be fair to Mr. Dolan. And I'm sorry, America. I just had to get this off my chest. I'm sorry. I started with the lowly in New York Knicks that are is a relevant in basketball as it comes at this particular moment in time my apologies. But dammit is on my mind. And I want to get it off my chest. There are those. That are friends. And have done business with James Dolan who prays relentlessly? Him and his actions, particularly somebody like me why because I'm an African American. I'm a black man and from Isaiah Thomas Tyson Chandler to Carmelo Anthony to to you know, who he's brought in as the president of basketball operations and the GM Steve mills, and Scott Perry and all of this other stuff, I got all of these people. That want to go out of their way. To praise James Dolan. That's what they want to talk about. That's really really what they want to talk about. He went to the math Fazei at Thomas. He went to the mat for Mike Woodson. Former coach at the New York Knicks who would just on get up this morning on ESPN, by the way, and made sure that Mike Woodson got paid. He gave Phil Jackson a boatload of money. Nobody had a problem with it until Phil went crazy, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, James Dolan. Oh, I I'll go a step further. What he did for Tyson Chandler when Tyson Chandler is mother was battling cancer was unreal. Tyson. Chandler couldn't practice with the team. Mr. Dolan gave Tyson Chandler access to his private jet to pick him up four games and take a right back to his momma after games. Laser gentleman. I could point to a whole bunch stories. I've heard about James Dolan philanthropy. His charitable ways. And how he's incredibly loyal and giving to his people..

"Thanks to Mike and funchess bag in the studio day mcmenamin kind enough to hang out for one more segment. People are angry at LeBron. They want to yell at us about LeBron. We'll take your calls momentarily. I promise Dave. Thank you Brian out again. So let me I will take exception with one thing that LeBron did the other day, which is an essence for lack of a better term, call out the young guys in, you know, talking about the culture, and they're not used to it, and, you know, winning it cetera, blah, blah, blah. He's not wrong about that. But what I would say is there not the reason that they're struggling right now as you pointed out particularly about Brandon Ingram and his recent play that. So my question to you is when does LeBron call out or have or has he had at least they discussion maybe you in price. It because he allows them that kind of leniency is veterans with veteran guys with Rondo which Stevenson with McGee at cetera. The guys that you added in the offseason because those are the guys that are really hurting them right now. I will. I mean, I hope those conversations are carrying. I I can't tell you that they are. No that around Rondo spend time away from court together. And so I imagine that Scott all sorts of things, you know, when it comes to bail McGee. I don't know what their relationships like. But I can tell you that also LeBron compile look at the roster, and and what's what's his choice. Right. I mean, by the way management trade away vaca. Zumbado and haven't replaced them with with big band and Tyson Chandler has his body failed him basically ever since a month into the trade or month into acquiring from Phoenix..

"I don't want DaMarcus cousins. I don't want Jimmy Butler. I don't want Campbell Walker. Although if Campbell Walker was in addition to Kevin Durant, I could live with it. Really you want Durant. Colli kyri two of those three. I understand Colli is not likely. I do think it's realistic that you can maybe get Durant and Kyrie imagine that though. All these years, really since Ewing left. The Knicks have not been any. They've never been any good damning consistent at all. Throughout the fifty four win year with Carmelo and even that year was a disappointment because they should not have lost the Pacers. Where the defensive guru, oh, the defensive player of the year Tyson Chandler, he's such a defensive stud. He got chewed up and spit out by ROY Haber. Nick won that series. They were better than the Pacers that year. If you're gonna lose to anybody should have been the heat in the Eastern Conference finals. So even the fifty four when you're with mellow where they want around was disappointing 'cause Tyson Chandler can't get beaten up by ROY Hubbard and that was frustrating to watch. But that's it. I miss the nineties. I missed the Knicks having a playoff round multiple playoff rounds. Every year you had rounds of playoffs to get into every year. It's been quite the opposite in the last eighteen years, and even when you did get an A-plus in the last eighteen years, it was usually no chance one and done. Sad. It's sad. And it's actually hard to believe that a franchise could be that bad for that long. That's hard to do hard to lose as much as the Knicks have lost in the last almost two decades now eight seven seven three three seven six hundred sixty six eight seven seven three three seven sixty six say, some the rob you're telling me to throw it away. NBA we told you about that double double twenty eight and ten now twenty nine he hits the first free throw it just forty six double double of the year. You'll be playing on team Jaanus next week at the all star game in Charlotte. Looked like he and Ben Simmons. We're going to be on the same team. But we had the unprecedented trae between LeBron. Kobo in Ben Simmons. Traded for Russell Westbrook who play on your team. Here's second free throw. Good. Sixers go up five eighty four seventy nine you can already put the lettering. I think other teams for next year there will be broad because he's sworn in fair vote again next year. He seemed like he's done it enough. But I think you're right. Here's rather. Brandon Ingram at the top gets Tyson. Chandler screen gets to the right elbow. Cut off able to get a shot off missed it. Long. Rebounded by Tobias Harris quickly into the front court Harris little stutter step move passing out the wide open MVP for three. Philadelphia when they need his third. Brandon Ingram who got the start here today with with Reggie Bullock in his first game with the Sixers coming over from Detroit. Both of them grew up in the small town of Kansas, North Carolina. Did Jerry Stackhouse. That's right. Well, that's three pretty impressive talents. Come from Kingston Ingram and Bullock about four years separated age by somebody else to stack in Brooklyn. Somebody else Vincent I'm gonna play. I four from there. It's a three point play Kingston's Brandon Ingram Lakers. Get within five Harris front court gives to NFL the right six ten to go. Third quarter back to Tobias at the elbow against Ingram. Trying to back them down spins baseline off the window. It did I think they got themselves. A good player here in Philly Tobias Harris up to nineteen when certainly do from half hollow hills in Long Island, but that was all Tobias that was just an eyesore, and he just beat a one on one called pope in the game hits the cutting Ingram at the late. A lot of contact. Don't call Paul comes loose Chandler has it seventy shoot brought inside the Kouzmin the free throw line against leans shot goes down for Kyle. Kuzma, I'm picking a James Ennis. Got walled off by KCPT gives it up to Harris with seven to shoot Harris at the top. Drives inside the arc doubt of the baseline. What's it up on the right hand? No tipped in the air, James and on the baseline. Lebron has it. The possessions are much longer. So far in the second half. Castio Novicki got under ten seconds on the shot clock. All I wanted to save electricity and support you don't need it. Here. Here's ingram. Driving in a late against Harris stops, spins fades at the dotted line. But missed the shot and MAs has the rebound third cod. Threads the needle on the past. The Ben Simmons. Missed the ball came flying the half court right back to Philly. Tobias Harris inside the bowl bond flips Sixers lead by seven. A technical foul. Jason Phillips thought bowl bond was. For more than three seconds. But there was missed. That's what they forget. Ben Simmons hit the back of the rim and the ball would all the way back court off that this. You know, what I've been saying about it is we can say the same thing about Ben Simmons. Everything's gone wrong for him. So far this after everything most things had gone wrong. They have to for twelve and now Tobias Harris everything had been going. Well, just missed the technical free throw attempt after the Tian Tyson Chandler JJ's. Where's JJ? JJ Radic course, the best free throw shooters in the NBA on the bench ninety one eighty four Sixers lead the Lakers, four forty seven left Tyson Chandler comes out of the game. Mike Scala is in the game right now for the Lakers. And so is Rajon Rondo with LeBron James Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious called mill pope. Rondo from right to left. He was the hero Thursday night. Back in Boston game winning shot. What a magnificent Katie had not just the last shot. He was unbelievable scholar. Takes the pass and misses a three from the left rebounded by Harris court NS hill square for three well that didn't even touch the rim Casey p ballgame right into his hands. I'll pick it out or I'm not saying anything downcourt Toronto drops it off for Kusa floating shot off the window in Kyle Kuzma scores Lakers within five. Right. Well, that was kind of what got Luc to go. Get it in the Lonzo and Brandon Ingram. Did that's the guy who's going to give you what you're gonna get. We'll get Rondo back. Maybe you won't it. It seems like he's close to coming back. We'll find out Brandon Ingram needs to do with Lonzo. Did when Lonzo got called out by Luke Walton, Lonzo star stacks and games. Lonzo started to put together some performances where his jumper was a little better. And that that's gonna come and go. He's not a great shooter. So the jumpers going to come. But what was there every night? He he was aggressive. He went to the rim. He started to attack. He started to push pace. All of these things started to become much more consistent after kind of yanked his chain a little bit. Brandon Ingram still doing that. One. Good one bad one one good one one bad when he's need to St. needs the string together some good ones, especially with LeBron not around. And the reason that the Lakers are in the position. That they're in right now is because they lost some games that they should have one and not having LeBron in the lineup doesn't mean that you wind up losing those games, and you don't hustle, you know, play a certain way, and you have you have to have your coach call you out and be able to say, oh, well, we need more out of these guys. Yeah. You're gonna have to get more out of these guys though. There's only guys you got. Yeah. They focus fallen by the wayside day after day. You're going to have to get a little bit not a little bit more. You're not to get a lot more from Brandon Ingram. You have to get a little more, Josh heart. "And they took a flyer on. He's been great like we saw him a couple years ago. And then last year he was out of shape, and they just really didn't play him at all. And he's not the kinda guy can run up and down the court like that he's kind of back to the basket type center. So you wonder is there room for him in today's NBA were most centers are like have to be able to shoot threes like it's not really his game. But like they found a way to integrate him now, and he's becoming really valuable because it especially in a game like that where you're playing against the traditional center and Stephen Adams was a perfect match for him. And he's not being static like, and that's what's making it a little bit. He's not the old school. Like, I'll stand in the post. Gimme the ball. And he's not this perimeter. Also, I'll stretch the floor and guys room to cut. He takes a post if it's not there. He moves screen, then he moves to the other side of you. And he moves in this weird trying is like it like an obtuse trying every single possession. And if it's at the if it's the bottom point of the triangle, he gets it in the post, then he goes up to the top of the rights to screen, and then he moves out of everybody's way and gets a rebound or gets a junk ball pass. But he's never static. So young gotta be in better shape. The guys moving all over and he's a he's a great rebounder. Obviously at this point. And he shot he's become a very functional NBA player. We look at times we were wondering if that was going to be the case. So we've been talking a lot about player development or lack thereof from the Lakers. And maybe it's just a glimpse. But it's had he's had a good stretch. Basically over the last I ever since he kinda got in the rotation which stretches now, I think fifteen games or so. There plus seven when he's on the floor like he has had a real impact when he's playing and you've got to centers one, which is kind of old at this point in Tyson Chandler, you can give you ten or twelve minutes. We have been asking a lot of them though. And they've been asking way too much of javale McGee. I think I know that jails played well at times, and then he got pneumonia. He got sick. But I mean zoo Botts is he's got young spry legs and actually more dynamic than juvenile. Well, jail can jump out at the gym right me nuts dynamic as far as repertoire of game. Yeah. I agree with that was one of the things, and it goes with any sport. Right. Whether it's it's it's baseball softball. Martial arts basketball, when you're out of shape, your technique is the first thing to go, right, right? Like all of a sudden you see guys in the fourth quarter and they're not bending their legs to shoot threes in their finishing short. And the announcers remind you of that every time it happy. But that's true. And with with Zubak's, I think that's more of what it was last season. Like he wasn't in shape. To be able to contribute anything. And when you see him, not breathing hard. When they go to commercial timeouts breathing through his nose instead of his mouth. That's a guy who maybe got the message last year. Yo you need to get in shape. I know magic and rob were preaching that a ton in off season. We want our guys in shape, we want all our guys ready to go. Does it do to looks in shape? I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities to talk about giving him starter minutes, letting jigsville sort of get his win back from pneumonia. Give you some minutes that won't tire him out and let Tyson take a bit of a breather. Get his body back. And if we get close to six or five again in the in the playoffs, then you've got gotta healthy Tyson, Chandler BASI, basically Tyson becomes more of a cut almost to equate it to a specialist in baseball as a reliever, you know, that's kind of the way you try to valuable spotlight away. Jesse Roscoe was for the dodgers ten years ago. Fifty years old. Yeah. He's there to face your best left handed pitcher guy. Hitter..

"ESPN dot com about wanting to be more of a leader. He was going to be more lead, by example, Kawai center, kind of more his personality. Right. And I was saying that Luke needs defined someone on this current roster to be that vocal leader. And we were kind of going through the roster. Mike remember yesterday? And I was like maybe Tyson Chandler has to be that guy. Because he's the guy that's won a championship have that gun. And I'm not even joking what twenty minutes later, they announced the starting lineup and Luke had Tyson in the stoning light up. And I think that that my thought on that Byron was. You know, it it. It's easier to be the vocal leader. When you're getting at least, some minutes or difficult minutes. Right. He started to do that. When you're not getting those minutes. Right. No. You're absolutely right, and Tyson Chandler is obvious choice to me for this team. Right now, you know, we know what type of player years, we noted he does things on that basketball court to benefit the team. He's not about Tyson Chandler. He's about winning having him in in New Orleans as I did he was our motion leader in New Orleans. Chris Paul was our leader. And then we had our quiet. Lebron David west, right? You know? So you need different types of leaders. Anyway, Magic Johnson was our emotional leader Korean was quiet leader, you know. And then I was in myself in Cooper kinda two guys that tried to keep everybody level. Yeah. You know what I mean? And you you gotta have that type of dynamic on teams to be successful. This team has to find that guy. You know, they gotta find a guy, especially when they're two leaders are out. Right. Somebody else has to step up. Yeah. And Luke talked about it yesterday. Basically said when asked about the change he said. Casey, p anti-sinn are vocal out near Munich eight there he goes some of these guys. They're too quiet out there on the floor. And there needs to be communication like these guys are going to bark out what's going on. Right. And you need to have some of that you mentioned David west. I always think of David west because that's like if I had to do a list of the top five to ten toughest dudes in in the NBA. Like, he's in that kind man. Yeah. I didn't see a whole lot of people messing with d west back in the day when I had him in for good reason. Lori was tough physical type personal net basketball court not that I thought I saw him get mad one time. And man, he bought his fist up at this guy. And I was like oh my God. "Right into the uptown report. Let's see those on Twitter hash day the starter. Summed up down. I won the seventy Sixers crushed the wolves last night. One forty nine to one zero seven in Jimmy Butler first match against his ex team after the game. Dwelling beat had some play full comments directed at Minnesota tweeting. It was an honor to be part of the third stringers and get a win against real MBA starters as the process and beat of poking fun at Jimmy's infamous practice when he was with the wolves scrimmage at all the third stringers took on the starters win and told everyone go up or down on embiid's tweet here. The little troll job that he had on the wolves. What do you think thumbs up? What I'm going down. Of course, I'm calling. I'm going down. Did two things it went at the opponents like Joel Embiid always. But it also showed that he's got his wolves teammates backs or Sixers teammates. And the thing is. Yeah, that's great. Everybody should be excited about that. But for us who do a daily show come on those support your teammates, we want you to have some infighting. That's a great thing. Joel Embiid when he's waiting. He's great. He's on social media. And when he loses he knows he's going to get a little bit back to. So when Philadelphia go two minutes, I'd expect that game's going to be pretty spicy later in the end, if the wolves get a win expect Joel Embiid to get a fair bit of attention on Twitter and on social media. Yeah. If you're the best team in the league gotta beat the worst teams to be the best. If you're going to be the best social media. You gotta hit that softballs out of the parks. If you beat a bad team, you gotta talk a little trash. The best very funny tweet. All right next. One guy is the Lakers made some big changes to their starting line-up ahead of last night's game against the bulls Tyson Chandler, replace Jalen, the as the team starting center while continuous caldwell-pope took Josh hearts starting shooting guard spot. Now, the switch up came after a rough three and seven stretch there by the Lakers and for one night it was against the bulls. But it did work. They got the w r you up or down though on this Lakers. Starting lineup changes here with McGee and Casey p going in there. What do you think down down goat? If you ask me because he did at the end of the bills give those other goes chance against because you're going to beat them. No matter who you run out on the floor. So I don't think you're going to take a whole lot out of two lineup changes from this game because you can't really measure it against an opponent. That's very good. I'm saying the same thing on the flip side of the coin if you do it do it against the bull. So you're guaranteed that it works. If you want your team to look more aggressive and a better defensive team play some guys who haven't been starting against the bulls. They're going to play hard and they're going to look good defensively. The Lakers won the. First and third quarters. The starters are out there, then guys. Engage. They looked aggressive. I thought it was okay for the Lakers that do it and against the bulls. Perfect move. We're we're fools to believe. It was gold though. It wasn't all that. Casey. Beaten have a great game Tyson Chandler didn't have an out of this world game. I think it was Lonzo ball who had a good game. Finally after having a few bad ones that really turn this game. Right. It turned sort of their fortunes around. Lonzo plays. Great. This team is pretty great. I should say it wasn't a blowout. Win against a seven point win. But they got the job done. Right. Final one here. Guys. Take a look at this pick. This is great this poor clippers trainer helping seven foot. Three nearly three hundred pound center Mariano. Warm up before a game. Yeah. Guy is holding onto those resistance fans for dear life. So I wanna know are or down on stretching with Bova. I mean, would you want this gig that this guy has? Yeah. Forced me to stretch. Yeah. That's the thing with me is if you're if you're doing this if you're the stretcher you're gonna have a very strong core airy strong grip, but if those band snap back. Because you're going down to. "And he's an interesting guy. I hadn't had my own Rondo experience yet. And then I did. And then I'm like, oh, I see what they mean. He's really smart, and he's really interesting and a lot of what Rhonda was saying about this team is he said, you know, watch the way us veterans are talking to the kids during the game. And what we're trying to get them to understand is how important it is to communicate out there. He's standing in the corner. And I'm kind of like he started trash talking the whole game. Right. But he's calling when he's in the corner, especially when the Lakers are on defense. He's calling out defensive adjustments. He's calling out what's happening out there. And he says a lot of the players and the team or not in a. Necessarily communicating and talking on the court. They're they're starting young and quiet, and they just kind of do what they do. And I think some of that might be millennial might be this generation where like people just don't know how to like have conversations and communicate and talk and say things and be focal and barking things out. Well, let's did he specifically reference millennial this generation this generation he said, you know, he and Tyson Chandler and the bron- have actually been making an effort to one talk to the younger players on the team in like during games, but they had a recent. I don't want to call it a team meeting because that's too strong. But they always talk as the team, and Rondo and Tyson Chandler both made the point of like, I know you guys are young, and you feel like you have your whole career and your growing. But both of us were have been a part of championship teams in. This doesn't always come around too long in your life. He's like I was I was really young when the big three came to Boston, and I had to adjust my game very quickly on the fly. But that was my chance to win. A key was still really young when he had to do that. And like it may not come back around ever again in your life. But you have a chance to play with LeBron James right now and Tyson was telling him about Dallas where they built this team. And it was like you thought they could contend forever. And then he was gone the next year. Yeah. So this is an unbelievable opportunity for these young players to play with LeBron James. Here's the thing. What about what does he mean by this generation and being more quiet because it came out in this last week that LeBron actually said that both Lonzo and Ingram? Are quiet are quiet. So when you're on the court, and it's like, you're playing defense there should be a constant conversation amongst players and not just defense offensively to that. This should this should be you guys talking the whole time. Right. And if it's quiet, you're not like connected. You're not connected not operating as a team, you're just kind of going through life. But there's a difference between that being generational and that just being individual temperaments. And I think it's that on the court, and it's also off the court when you see things or like, you have a bad loss or. Things are going on with the team. Like, you need to know how to confront people about those those issues are those conversations like people need to know how to reach out to Lonzo and connect with him and talk to him like Rondo said, initially, he he reached out to him. But he want to overwhelm Lonzo recently. He's been like like, it's forty games in. I'm not able to play and be out there and be his his vet right now on the court, but I can be his bet in the locker room..

"And I think that's why you see a slow market for Bari. Parker in Robin Lopez there because teams know that those guys could be there on them and on more one and you're right on on the agent relations. And and people always say I heard a lot of criticism with Tyson Chandler getting bought out in Phoenix, you know, in early. I guess it was in November there, and you know, why would you do a Dan wanting why don't you just hold onto them? And I get it. You know, it's early. But the hope is that if you're a team like Phoenix or another team that the favor that you do to the agent is paid back down the road somewhere either during the draft. Maybe it's a draft player that you can't get in for workout that you've been you know, busting your tail to get in.
