"They can not be ostracizing your group. So kudos to them and the Panthers that go ahead with it and say, you know, this is, this is what we're doing. And this isn't what we stand for. So, you know, when I see an organization stand up, I think that's great because they could just say, oh, well, we don't want to go there. Let's have these conversations. Let's talk about it because it's not going anywhere. And there is queer fans in the NHL, and I think we want to be bringing them in and not pushing them away. Yeah. And then what I'm hearing is here, look, there's lots of speculation with the NHL, the Players Association might do maybe next year, looks different with pride nights and special events, but it sounds like why try and fix it. You know, it's working relatively well, continued to endorse continue to support and do it the National Hockey League is done. All right, let's switch gears here, Bain patcher joining us on the podcast NHL player agent, some lofty players. Got the Ben brothers Tyson Barry and go down the list. So before we hooked up here, we were talking about the trade. Tyson berry from the Edmonton islanders is part of the Matthias at home deal that comb of course going to Edmonton. You were an Edmonton when that deal went down and kind of the ink stain guys like me, the insiders we don't really care about the players. We just want to break the news. But you look at firsthand, right? With Barry and his family, I mean, the trade is a big deal and there's upheaval that goes with that. Yeah, we were sitting there actually Mike Smith was over. They played Boston on a Monday night and then Toronto on a Wednesday. So I was like, hey, I'll come in and talk a couple good games for the oil. And then Tuesday, we're out for lunch. Come back. Here's a funny one. We come back to the house.

"How it makes everyone else better around them, even guys who aren't necessarily playing with them. Yeah, it's your point, boats say Brad kulak. I mean, last year in the playoffs, Brett kullak, and Tyson berry were very respectable, third pair. Mostly this year they've been the second pair so that I mean that is a huge change for them. They haven't found over the last 6, 8 weeks, Phil broberg's really come in and been a helpful player, and been paired with Evan Boucher, but last year Bouchard and Doug Keith were the second pair at least in the back half of the year. So there's been this and we talked to them mentioned earlier and you know as well, but Cody sisi, you know, there's a lot of kind of moving parts that are moving in the wrong direction, right? So to your point, you know, and I kind of illustrated this earlier. If you can get Carlson in there, playing with nurse and fly to everyone down, that changes the whole dynamic of that defense corps. You know, I think it'd be interesting to see kind of how it would shake out, you know, after that, I would think if you formed kind of a veteran pair of kulak and sisi, again, we're assuming the Tyson varies going in the street. And then the third pair would be your two kind of younger eisen Bouchard and broberg who play together for a little while and obviously can be sheltered and allowed to grow kind of in a third pairing role. You know, and there's the mentorship factor I know the guy Philip broberg looked up to as a kid in Sweden, miss Eric Carlson. So to have him in the same dressing room and then learning from him as a rookie defenseman, I think, would be a boon there as well. So yeah, again, I hope I didn't come into this conversation with you. I was supposed to this. I really come around and I just, I would say, from my understanding, the others are certainly in. I think everyone knows that. But I think it's about henness percent chance of them being able to pull it off in the next two weeks. So you're saying there's a chance. Exactly, exactly. So, and that probably makes them the frontrunners because this is a very tricky deal to make at this time of year. It might be easier at the draft and when life's cleared off a team's books and they're about to be cleared off teams books, but they're certainly our benefits. Don't get me wrong to Eric Carlson being an oiler. Just kind of hard to see. Okay, well, here's a question here's a logistical question for you that in terms of what it would look like on the ice. So I think a big part of Eric Carlson's magic or charm out there is his ability to carry the puck off the ice, especially this year with how healthy is looked with it with his foot or any issues that he had previously a lower body and how he's able to maneuver through traffic just so brilliantly and make plays and make people miss and get the puck up the ice in that way. And I think it's a fair question to wonder.

"Welcome to the hockey PDO cast. My name is Amy treville povich and joining me is my good buddy Daniel Newton Bowman. Daniel, what's going on man? Just a nice winter day here at Edmonton. So I can't complain. The toxic nature. Yeah, yeah. It's great to have you on. Finally, able to coordinate having you on the show for the first time after numerous botched attempts, mostly on my end and just scheduling conflicts. And we're going to do some air Carlson wish casting here. So sign me up for this conversation. Sounds great. I want to just unpack everything with you like fully investigate. The reasons why the oilers should be in on this or potentially shouldn't. Logistics, how feasible it is, all of that. I know that once the initial report came out over the weekend, you were quick to douse it with cold water. And I'm kind of curious to get into that with you and hopefully, sure. Over the next 50 minutes, I'm going to be able to lure you over to the dark side and really get you to be on my side of this, the conversation. So let's get right into it. What do you think is the most interesting component of this from the oilers perspective in terms of the consideration or in terms of what we should be thinking about when we're considering this topic? Yeah, you know, Dimitri it's funny because all these names that I've been hearing all year, you know, Gabriel cough and edmondson and through lesser extension Jacob tricker and I think we'll probably get into him later. I know the oilers have had some interest, but really he's not a guy that they're from my understanding, they're super interested in. I never really thought of Eric Carl said. And for the reasons of the contract, the age, you know, obviously it's having a tremendous year this season. Probably will win the north trophy, but the previous two or three below his standards, I would say. And, you know, when you look at the makeup of the oilers team, you know, they have that in Bouchard, they have Tyson berry,

"Tyson Barrie, the two major pieces in that trade, Tyson Berries and Edmundson now and nods Qadri suspended for a game. Who made out better. I think it's the abs still, but Just based on what they've gotten so far. But over time It may be a wash. Like the two low deal. You kind of like the 20 deal where the Blue Jays initially got the better of it right, too low was on a playoff team was contributing and then Then injuries and everything else caught up with them, and now he's non league anymore. Uh, the Rockies God, Jeff Hoffman, who is now in Cincinnati. And Didn't get much else for him. So the Blue Jays one that trade But on Lee because of the initial impact that Troy Tulowitzki had in Toronto. Can't win that trade longer than a season. And maybe that's where the absolute at They wanted initially but over time. I mean, that all depends on You know, if the abs get past their next Sirisanont, some country comes back. Then they can get a little bit more out of them. And then what happens this offseason? I don't think that the ABS cut bait. I don't think they get rid of not some country. But there's some people saying they should. If he gets suspended for eight games, Let's say I mean, it's hard to think of this, given the way they asked, played against the Blues, but let's say they lose the next round and their season is over. Nazem Contracting suspended was at least part of the reason why You can keep him. We'll see what questions to be answered in the future. 5 to 2987 to take your thoughts on All of that good stuff. No abs. No nuggets in action tonight, but there are plenty of MBA in NHL playoff games will run through some of them some of the pertinent bending information that you need. To make informed decisions with your money tonight. That's after we take a break. This is Kill my car from your car. I lunch now back to drive Time Sports with Ryan Kaufman on extra sports 1300. Well, if you are not interested in.

"Can haul and in that group, they just I am just Failed miserably. To supplement The two stars that they have Was saying about this last night, too. Who won The Ah 100 trade. At this point in time. No, we love to do that, right. We take different snapshots in time, and we say who won this trade It was a significant trade. Who won the ABS may believe steel I guess not Some Qadri is gonna appeal is suspension. He's hired outside counsel. Which is as many NHL insiders note, uh, not normal. Like Qadri's lawyering up. He's fighting this thing. There's suspension, eight game suspension they gave him for hitting Justin Fault. Which I thought I think he's fighting and losing battle. I really do I I think that he deserved his a game suspension. The hit alone did not deserve a games. But his reputation plus the hit He deserved it. He deserved a games so much as I would love to have Nazem. Contrary with the Avalanche going into this serious with we think the Vegas Golden Knight Can't defend him. I can't say that the NHL did wrong by him. Given where we're at right now. And the reason what made me think of this in case you didn't know Tyson Berries on Advent and now So he's sick around in Toronto. And I know Toronto's really up against the cat because they're paying a bunch of forwards. Significant amounts of money, so it could be a little bit of that. But I think Tyson very largely in Toronto, was Quite forgettable. They still have Alex Kerfoot..

"And then we better exchanging Huntress. Everybody carrying Robinson Cano Peter start steaming up on every head now the instigators presented by Senator resorts and casinos. Nothing else comes close. All right. Set your alarms in your reminders for about old 10 59 because at 11 o'clock Ryan Miller's going to join the show after he announced his retirement just a few weeks ago. Maybe a month ago. I don't know a few weeks ago, and he's going to join us at 11 o'clock here in the instigators. W G R 5 50 MSG pretty quiet in saber land. Not much information to give you Man. I got something in my throat. Um not much information to give you here in buffalo. So you know, we'll talk about that at some point today, but You it up, gentlemen. Marty here with us today. Instigators. As I mentioned ribs is ready to rock and roll. Cue it up. Cue up the Connor Make David trade rumors. Ready. Go. He wants out of admin. Tiny's measurable. They lost four straight. How can you waste a perfect season that he just had and they go on blow in the first round? Oh, my God! Hair's on fire. Let's get him out of that mountain boys. Do I even dare do? I even dare go there. Are you going to trade? Jack? I'm just gonna throw a big bomb in the fire. Why not Trade Jack Eichel to end Metin for Economy David and I mean, This was this is gonna be a tough one. This is going to be in. This is gonna be a very tough one for economist David to swallow. He had a storied, um, regular season. You know, 105 points. And how many games did he play? Marty? You remember, um I think he played 54 playoff 56. Now, if you don't think it did, Yeah. Around 54 games, he had 105 points. He truly was, um Special and what's even more head scratching. Is he had? I think 25 of those 105 points against the Winnipeg Jets. They crushed the Jets riff They like played the Jets, and it was 61528. They crushed him now. I didn't think the bite Petey and to start the show, and I'll tell you why. I'm not taking that bite on make David because after the game last night or this morning when it ended, economic David said. You know what? We're right there. This was a weird Syriza, Like you know, three overtime games won in Triple overtime Game one. It was really a 21 game. It's ended for one with two empty net goals. But It it almost like the end, Mentor nor Lear's were saying You know what we did everything we could It just We didn't get the bounce. We didn't get the breaks, And that's what happened is that what is going with? That's exactly what he went with last night, and it didn't sound like that what he was doing with on the bench when he was snapping on? No, he was selling. It was everybody get pushy RV off my line. I don't want to play with that guy anymore. But that's what make David went went last night, and he didn't go with, like, very miserable looking like This was you know it? No, he was. He was almost like He had made. His is His bed and said, You know what? That was a weird Syriza's. We were right there. It was could have gone either way. That's really what he said. So I was smart. Smart because I don't believe there's any way possible. Economist David wants to be an admitted. Zero. From the day that from the day that from the day the draft lottery happened, Can we cue that video up? We can't Dad, I think he did it. I think he accepted it because he didn't have a choice. He accepted it because he didn't have a choice and he's accepted it gracefully, but I think he's actually had enough. Why is that? No, I don't think so. Why is that PD? Why? Why? 105 points in the 56 game season this year, he added their oats four straight in the first round. I mean, what do you mean, how what is? It's clearly the regular season doesn't mean anything. I get that. And you know what? We've seen that before. We saw Tampa Bay get out in the first round to Columbus in the suite three years ago. What did they do? The year after made a lot of changes. Why do you ask? Why Rive? Why do you ask him, like many other skin and in the event in our lives will make a lot of changes now. On that rocks. They have the money to make the changes. Marty. Yes, they have tons of cap room. Okay. I have the James Neal situation We talked about right before coming on the show that I think every team in the league has a black contract like the You have to figure out goaltending, which a few teams have to figure out, but Mike Smith, he was good this season. He was good in the playoffs, but Kind of halibut is a much better goaltender. And that's why the Jets were able to win foreign. Well, that's right. And they pay me Coco Austin and four million or what? Not, and it didn't work out. So so they have the cap room. But you're right, bt what did temper do and they lose four straight to Columbus. They say We got to get better. So last year at the deadline, they go and get Blake, Coleman and Barkley Good row and they acquire Pat Maroon, and they went and got A different look. They had the flexibility to do it. Not so much. They're lucky crew drove was on long term IR this year, but you have that ability and then Minton, I believe to reconstruct your roster. Make. David had multiple points in this series, but it really took until game three from to get going dry side. All that mold point, Marty, you're saying that they have, like you have to have that collateral to be able to go out and make trades for Barkley, Good Row and Coleman. Edmonton Oilers right now have a first round draft pick this year, and in this year's draft 2021. They have no second rounder. They have no third rounder. They have no fifth rounder. They are. They don't have a lot. They may have a better chance, maybe free agency and they don't have a ton of stud young prospects. They're all in their lineup. No, they're on the line up, and I think but what you can last night. The event in Orleans, played with four defenseman from the middle of the third period on Darnell Nurse played over 60 minutes. It was the third or fourth highest minutes, played in a game. Remember last year, said Jones played over 65 67 minutes or something in the game like they play with four D. They need help at D they need Depth at forward. Well, here's the thing. You have money that needs to go out and you need to spend. But here's the thing like, what do they do with Tyson Berry next year? He was actually pretty decent Use decent. He had 48 points. He had more points than any defenseman in the National Hockey League this year. But are you going to pay him the top dollar that he's gonna demand? His e R F E is unrestricted free agent and restricted while I mean Again. This is gonna be a weird free agent season because the flat cap A lot of teams don't have the money. If you're a free agent, you're looking at teams that have the money to say This is where I have to sign to be able to maximize my contract Ice and Barry may only have end mint and as a team. That he could say, Hey, this is where I need to sign to maximize my contract. But at the same time if you don't have bitters on you Well, you can only take what you're being offered, so he doesn't have a very good team. I mean, when you look at the when you I'm sorry, Sam PD When you order it is when you look at their roster They are they have. They do not have a good team at all. A single handedly make the playoffs because Economy David and Leon dry cycle. That's it. That's it. Yeah, it's in the basketball. The NBA can build a team like that. But so what happened in the playoffs this year for the orders make David as four points dry sidles as five points. CASS, Ian Ryan. New job Can Pre RV and Larson have two points. And after that, it's one point There's not enough that I know they only played four games. But when you have, you know, your usual are Cara and I like shapes on and you haven't tomato. That's not good. They got dry cycle in the draft. They got Macc David in the draft. They paid them a lot of money early, Okay. Fair value for sure. I think one dry cycle signed his deal well. The best deals and league mate David signed his and you're kind of like hoof, man..

"Fuck this team. Anyway we'll talk about fantasy. Yeah hell yeah dude. I'm fucking beat. The number one fucking guy last week go fuck fuck you dude because numbers. He's absolutely going off. I don't know how. I i don't know how i beat him last week. I was trying so hard. I was switching. I was picking up people on waiver like i was. I was in it to win it last week. And i'm so lucky. I picked up joe thornton Thorn pickup us nice now. He's injured again but no no. Yeah i saw that. Actually he did. He might be back tomorrow though. But what's good hopefully. At least i mean dude. I made a shit ton of moves trying to prepare myself for this guy this past week. Nothing working out for me bill. Actually i just got really quickly to updates for my team. I had one trade. That i was very proud of looking at the goaltending situation. I don't think i'm as happy as i was before. Yeah anyway to talk about this quick. And i'm trying to bring up the trade right. Now hold up. Give me one second. Sorry about this sorry can be one second. You think that'd be prepared for something like this. I thought it would be very easy. Okay here we go all right. So i acquired riley. Morgan and robin lehner for my kaufman and thatcher denko. So mike hoffman. I picked up on waivers probably like two to three days before this trade so he. He really wasn't sitting on my team for long. You know he is a great he is actually left wing and right wing so it's kinda good to have him because you know he can really benefit me. Help me out when my centers all taking up and you know one of my left lanes right care but whatever it is what it is We talked about denko how he's playing good but he's not really helping me out fantasy wise so i was happy to move him and robin lehner. Who honestly in my opinion. I think is a better goal tender although he has been hurt with some upper body injury And he still has come back yet even with him on my team which is still disappointing. i did see that he went from out today today though so i'm kinda hopeful that something might happen where he comes back. We end bucky without the. Yeah pen annoying with Not putting people on. I are honestly spend lots of pissing me off severely. 'cause i still have my mom still holding on. But he's from out to healthy or not from out today today to out today to day twice a day. Yeah since the past burri Dude what the fuck fucking. Keep them as like injured. Like i don't get it cuba's out. I know It's ridiculous but i'm happy about picking up riley morgan though bro i felt like that was a really great move especially for my kaufman. Ya yeah definitely. I mean i need. I need a new defense. And i think butch well that was my problem. My defensemen was like lacking. Like i have thomas chabad jake muslim. Who's day to day tyson berry. Who's been playing very well for me and have devante so putting morgan riley and to that lineup has helped me out a lot. Yeah i mean. I just don't know who i would drop because i have on paper. It's a really good defense. I've dopson high skin portrayal schultz butt. haven't been.
