All right, let's go. Give me two more quickies. Well, these are two that are kind of intertwined. Dallas Cowboys under ten and a half wins, Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC east. So now this is too late because this was the bed a month ago, but now it feels like it's shifted to that bet. You know what? You know what's hilarious? This was one of my strongest bets, two, three months ago. It was. We were on text with House. I remember. Yeah, the line has moved 20 cents. I still think Dallas under ten and a half at minus one 45 has value. I still think the Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC east at plus one 55 has value. Think of it this way. Plus one 90 intimates a 35% chance that you're going to win the division. Plus one 55 is 39% chance likely. I mean, this is more than a 4% move to meet everything that's happened this off season with regard to the Dallas Cowboys. I didn't like them even when they had tyron Smith in there, but after I dug into what this team was losing when they lost tyron Smith, it is massive. Build the difference between their rushing efficiency on early downs in the first three quarters of games, which is what I always tend to focus on because that's more predictive than fourth quarters or third down, so I stripped those out. I look at early downs in the first three quarters. Over the last three years, when Smith is on the field, these running backs rank number one in EPA per rushing attempt. When he is not on the field, they rank number 31 in EPA per rushing attempt. I mean, we're moving from almost the best to the worst rushing offense in the NFL on these predictive early downs in the first three quarters when Smith is there versus when he is not. The impact that he brings to the passing game as well. When he's on the field, they rank number 9 in first down passing efficiency when he's not on the field. They rank number 30. Dak is worse when he's blitzed without Smith. That is worse versus main coverage without Smith. Like there are so many different things that you can factor in when they used Conor mcgovern out on the field last year when he had to fill in. This team shifted from plus .21 EPA per attempt when Connor was off the field to minus point through O three EPA per attempt when Connor was on the field. Now this guy's gonna have to start for the Dallas Cowboys. And the rest of their line isn't great. We still haven't even talked about all the other things about their relying on Zeke about their wide receivers going down about the wide receiver core, not being a strong to begin with in about all those defensive turnovers that are highly unlikely to be repeated this upcoming season. I just think that this team is going to struggle compared to their current expectations and if they won 11 to 12 games against this schedule with this current roster and that coaching staff, I just would be shocked, so I like them under. Fando, there's been a ton of action on the under. It's ten and a half still, which I think is crazy. It's minus one 45. I'll go further. You made the case and you've been on this all summer. I think when Smith went down, the eagles should become the favorites. Because Dallas was a little top heavy anyway. I still have real, I really like CD lamb. I think he's excellent. But people are acting like he's like, now that Cooper's gone, that he's just going to come in and be chased or Jefferson. He certainly being treated that way in fantasy. He's a top 15 fantasy guy. I really like him. We still haven't seen it. We haven't seen it from a durability standpoint and all that stuff. The rushing, whatever happened to Z last year, I know is injured. But now you laid out the case. The offensive line is going to be now convincingly below average. I didn't love what I saw from back last year either. We always talk about this, but dak versus Kirk Cousins. I still don't really see a difference. And I think Philly's better. Look at Philly, Bill, look a Philly when this team last season, okay? Obviously we know Jalen hurts has played a little bit of 2020 and then all of 2021. In 2021, his top three wide receivers, a true rookie in devonta Smith, a tight end, and a 6th rounder in year two named quez Watkins. Those were his top three receivers in 2021. In 2020, this is based upon targets. In 2020, the top three targets Greg ward was number one in undrafted former college quarterback. Number two was a 30 year old Zach Ertz and number three was Travis fulgham, who is a 6th rounder who's now bounced around the NFL. Now you stick on this team, AJ Brown, and just with the gravity that AJ Brown is going to command out on the field with how defenses now have to play a true number one receiver. It's going to open up even more for the run game in the past game for the eagles. We know that this coaching staff was very felt really good about changing up their scheme and went from the most pass heavy third most pass heavy team in the NFL, the first 6 weeks to one of the most run heavy teams in the NFL down the stretch. And if they're nimble on their toes and can pivot and change things up to what the strength of the team is at that time, I think that coaching is going to be good enough. The roster is going to be good enough. And now you have a real number one there that's going to help the quarterback even more and open things up further in the run game. I just think that this is a two horse race. I know it's going to make how sad that we're not including the commanders in this. But this division to me is a two horse race and I agree. I think the Philadelphia Eagles do deserve to be favored over what Dallas Cowboys have become. So 39% chance to win the division, I think it should be higher than that. Joe has joined us. He didn't want to be left out. And I'm glad he joined us at this specific time because you made some Philly bets. Mostly on sharps behest. A couple months ago. And house, I just said how, I think they should be favored in the division now, and I agree with sharp, even if you're getting them, you know, somewhere plus one 45 plus one 50, whatever. I still like it because I think they should be like minus one 20 minus one 30. What did you get them at house? Oh, plus odds across the board. Again, because we bet them so early, anticipating some regression out of the cowboys and then the direction that the cowboys have proceeded throughout this preseason between the continued lack of competency at the top and the injuries. Sharp, we didn't even mention McCarthy. He's actually more likely to be first coach fired than to make the playoffs. That's what a house is bets. One of my favorite bets. Yeah, so Philly is plus one 55. I did, I didn't even tell you about this house. I did this whole, I did this whole crazy elite player ranking thing that I tried to come up with some sort of scoring system. Did you see which teams had the best players? I was shocked by how high Philly ranked from like an above average talent thing. They have, I don't know, ten to 12 guys that you would either call elite or like right on the level below elite, especially like both lines and that the question for me is hurts. Hurts his stats weren't terrible last year. He was terrible in the playoff game and I think that left a little

"Put up what I thought were MVP numbers. He led the league in passing yards, completion, touchdown throws, all of that. And he had the second lowest time to throw. So Tampa has suffered more injuries, but they've got the goat back there. You know, if you look at Dallas, dak Prescott is good, losing tyron Smith. He's one of the better offensive linemen in the league. It's just banged up a lot. And if you look at the saints, it's a rookie and Trevor penning. He's not, you know, certified tyron Smith is, but you got Jameis Winston back there. So to lose the guy protecting your blind side, I think it's the saints that have had, I think this impacts their offense the most. Am I crazy saying that? Yeah, I think it will impact Tampa Bay and Tom Brady. With numbers like you just said, having guys missing, it's only, it's gonna make that worse. And I'm not convinced Tom Brady is all in yet. Yeah. So, you know, don't you don't you feel the cloud hanging over Tampa Bay? It's weird, isn't it? It's there. You know what I'm talking about. It's that cloud of uncertainty is like, what's going on with Brady? Why is it the coaches change? Yeah. You lose coaches, you losing your offensive line, you lost your receiver. Something hanging over Tampa Bay that leads me to believe they won't be as dominant as we would suspect having Tom Brady as the quarterback. Yeah, it is a weird deal. I don't know how to explain it. It's so abnormal for Brady. This dude has been meticulous with preparation for over two decades and just before the season he's gone for 11 days? On the heels of retiring for 40 days after crazy. The tampering things come out. Something's not something's not quite kosher or something doesn't sit quite right with me. Yeah. Yeah, and then Gronk basically unveiling the rate is situation years ago. Oh, because of stuff going on right now. Yeah. It's just weird, right? Like ask yourself this, why would Gronk just throw that out there? All of a sudden. Yeah, Gronk's retired as of right now. Are there any sour grapes toward Tampa? I don't know. I don't know why this comes out. It's Gronk. Maybe just wanted to tell a story, or maybe there's something behind it. I'm not sure, but I'm with you. It's been a really, really weird abnormal off season for Tom Brady. We've never seen anything close to this. No, and so with that, I'm like, huh. I wouldn't be surprised if they got off to a really rocky start. Wow. Man, interesting. Well, we'll find out here. We'll find out real fast. A few weeks. "You put the ball in a Maury's hand and you win the game, a game that they weren't expected to necessarily win on the road. And so I think that's going to honestly be the biggest question mark heading into training camp besides who's going to be the kicker. Is can seedy land really step into that role. And by the way, they've got Jalen James Washington and you're not going to have Michael gout the first couple of weeks. And then Noah Brown is always a really strong candidate that really steps out in camp and then you see sort of flash them during the season. So maybe we see an increased role for him, but I have a hard time answering your question there been because I don't quite know what to expect from CD as he steps into that role. I know that he does all the things the right way. He's been getting in a lot of reps. I have a ton of respect for him just as a person. And as a human, but in terms of is he going to emerge as that guy in Dallas, there's a lot of pressure when you wear the 88. We'll see. You know, I think there's a lot of question marks on this team, a specifically offensively. Favor one of them, he's definitely one of my favorite young players in the league, so I'm keeping my eyes on CD lamb this year and another question mark in Dallas is around Ezekiel Elliott. TJ, of course, had him on his top ten running backs list yesterday, whether it's health concerns off the field stuff, whatever it is, there's always question marks around Zeke. What do you expecting from him this season and talk to me about the state of Ezekiel Elliott? Well, I saw him with OTAs or mini kit was OTAs. And I pulled him off the side of these walking out of the locker room. And I asked him, I said, however, were you last year? And he told me at a PC all on his right side and it happened after Carolina, and I said, how did it affect your game? And he said, it really impacted his ability to separate and order in other words to really sort of get the ground and the burst that he needed. And so I get the sense that he's, you know, he's healthy. You know, these off the field issues haven't been a problem in Dallas really in the last three years. And it was that who even said, of course, their best friend, so you expect this, but he said when healthy he thinks that, I mean, a Zeke is the best running back in the league. It's just hard when you've got guys like Dalvin cook and whatnot in the last couple of years have really emerged as strong running back. What to expect from Zeke. I just, I think sometimes too, when you get the contract to be extra zeros and you saw them do the holdout and shout out to his agent rocky arsenal, that may be the biggest running that contract we ever see again. Just because we've seen how it's played out with some of these guys. But I think because of that contract, there's been just increased scrutiny on him. And it doesn't help to give a younger guy like Tony Pollard who a lot of people think should be getting more reps. And I would also submit that with that offensive line the first couple of years when we had Travis Frederick at center and knew how to healthy tyron Smith and Zach Martin and all those guys, that's why geek was able to be as successful as he was and we've really seen it deterioration of that offensive line and by the way, you're going to have a rookie on that line this year. Tyron Smith, you hope that he stays healthy. We definitely seen, you know, some of the injuries popped up in recent years. And so, you know, it's not just one thing, right? And so I think there's a couple of things that are going to play in here, but I've seen him doing more working out in the last two off seasons than we've seen him do before. But I think he's better when dak healthier, any better when you've got a strong offensive line. I think that really does apply to any running back though. NFL network reporter Jane slater joining the show, Ben Lyons in for rich on the rich eisen show. Jane, it's that type of that time of the year. It's that time of the year when dak goes shopping. Is he going balenciaga this year for the lineman? What kind of are we working versus? What are we doing for Dax shopping? Is he buying gifts for the team? What can you tell me about that? The last time I was on your show, you talked about some it was what was it some bag that Zeke got? The goyard bagger? I don't know. I'm about fashion brands in the year 2026. You know, I'm already in the future, Jane. You know, it's like Kanye West over here. I am wearing a shacket. Well, I don't know if you're familiar with this, a bunch of football players wear this spray ground. And I love it. And so shout out to spray ground, but it's these unique looking bags and luggage that look like $1400 Louis Vuitton bags. I think I paid 300 for one suitcase and then I've got to duffle back to the 120. But everyone thinks I'm the boujee chicken the airport because it's all matching. But honestly, it's really stuff and every time people ask me about it, I'm like, oh yeah, I'm gonna spray drops just fragrant, hit me up. I need some new stuff. But yeah, I'm not a big label check. I've never owned a pair of Christian louboutins or any of that. Well, dak is, I remember that last year was such a thing of him buying stuff for the team or whatever. But talk to me about dak and his health right now. That was also a big issue. Last summer, I remember with the hard knock stuff. So what do you expect from dac this season? You know, that was a crazy thing coming into training camp is we were all shocked at how healthy that the ankle healed. And then he gets that the injury and his non throwing shoulder and we're like, what is that? And it's throwing shoulder and it was a pitching, you know, something that pitchers feel it, then we find out they're consulting with the rangers. And I think it was the Yankees, and that was just like a curious one where we didn't see them much of camp. But when you talk to him, mini camp OTAs, you just had a camp here in Dallas, he'll tell you this is the healthiest he's been. And of course, I get that we get into these famous, you know, it's the camp storyline. The best shape ever, healthiest he's ever been. Have had an awesome all season working out with his personal trainer. I get that. But I think more importantly, it's his mental mindset. You know, keep in mind too. He was not only did he deal with that ankle injury he lost his brother to suicide. You know, I think there was a lot of question mark around that big contract. And then of course you also had a few coaching staff and in the first year, it was just it was a disaster, right? And so I just think, as a group, I was saying to somebody the other day, it felt more normal around there. And I felt like even Mike McCarthy, even though it's sort of a pressure cooker situation for him, you know, that coaching staff is in their final year. He even felt a little lighter. I just think those guys specifically Mike and that staff. They do better with the guys in front of them in the practice room. They're like some of our parents. They're not good with technology. And you saw that on the football field, it was a disaster, the first season.

"So although maybe when they run it right behind the right guard, technically by these charting metrics, it's not effective. Everything to the right side is led by Zack Martin, right? He's the center point of the entire running scheme. The other play that they really like when they do go to more of like a gap scheme. And sometimes these are actually zone runs depending on the coaching staff. G league lead, right? Which is, instead of pulling the backside guard in like a power or a counter play, they're going to pull the play side or the front side guard. All the time that's Zack Martin, the right guard. So when they run to his gap based off of the scheme, sports info solutions tracks this and they have it at 6 and a half yards per carry running behind Zach Martin when they whether he's pulling or he's getting out and outside zone or he's blocking inside zone, which are their three most common schemes in their running game. They're averaging 6 and a half yards per carry when they're running to Zak Martin's direction. So I don't know if that right guards that is just plunging it right up the middle at the guard. And then in that case, yeah, I could see why they probably wouldn't average a ton of yards. But whenever they get Zack Martin on the move, they are dynamite running behind him. And this is a big time game as well. I would also say for Matt judon against tyron Smith, who's one of the best tackles in all of football. And I know, they'll probably flip judon side to side and we're gonna say, do you think do you think they walked you down onto a side for this game? They haven't really done that. I don't know if they'll lock them on, no. I doubt it. Usually they try to follow him to the strength of the formation if they're gonna get play action. They sometimes line them up on the back side to let them rush off of play action. But no, I don't think he'll definitely be over Zach Martin all the time. Tyron Smith all the time. But when he is overtired and Smith, that is a strength on strength, heavyweight type of matchup, right? One of the best left tackles in football against one of the best pass rushers right now going in the NFL and Matt judon. So I'm really looking forward to this trenches matchup when the cowboys have the football because that is an amazing offensive line and seeing how this patriots front that has a lot of hype to it. It hasn't necessarily lived up to all of it against the run. They've been a little bit weak there. But overall, I think that this front for the Patriots is the strength of their team. And this is going to be a true litmus test of where they are going this year if they can stay out and stand up to this Dallas offensive line that's just absolutely terrific. Yeah, I mean, this is I don't know, I do know. Like Dallas has a more talented Ross or one to 53 than the Patriots. But the moves of patriots made this off season, they should be able to at least hang in a game with a team like Dallas..

"You can't fully believe everything you hear on these injuries because if it's not something that's like all of a sudden like okay. This is going to be season ending. They're gonna give the player the chance to try and like let's kind of see what we can do here over the next couple of weeks because surgery is always the last option. They don't wanna do surgery unless they absolutely have to. And when i say that. I'm talking about. Live ellen sean. I'm not talking about daqian. Because to me right now and again obviously. I'm not a doctor. But i think for the biggest issue that he would run into with. This particular injury is that he'd have to play through some pain. Like i don't think this is all of a sudden like this is going to be season ending. You know you'd better go out and sign a better backup something like that as of right now. I think it's one of those deals where they're like. Let's try and get this thing. Calmed down as much as possible. Let's get on a pitch count when he comes back. We're not going to be having them thrown any bombs. I just happen work on intermediate stuff kind of get back into it so that he's not going in a week. One in the arm is just superstore and he has to get shot up or anything like that you know i. I don't think this is gonna be somewhere else. He's going to need surgery. That's all insane and my only concern with all that is just. The offense is just not been able to get in a rhythm you know. We haven't had tyron smith out there because the elbow tendinitis Amari cooper hasn't been out there and so even last night they didn't seem sharp. I just he keeps talking about continuity and availability and getting the cadence down in. Getting better through on scrimmage and you're not gonna fix all of that until you get your quarterback back and so that's the only thing that i would say starting out the season but if there's one thing that said last night it's like i'll be ready to go for the tampa game. I believe him like he's ahead of schedule in. It's to me wild that given the nature of that injury and the things that we were being told after it happened by people who had similar injuries that he had no setbacks that ankle and when you watch him at practice. It's not heavily taped up. He clearly has you know he's not worried about that. Ankle the way he moves on it. That's to me. The most shocking thing about i expected the ankle. Maybe limit him a little bit. They'd be cautious with it. But with this the i just don't know what to make of the shoulder compliant based on everyone i've spoken to you. I just don't want to make of it. Well and i mean just as john pointed out just like let's think back just through recent history lyle collins and sean lee got shut down out of nowhere after a little bit of like. Oh it's not nearly as bad all of a sudden. It's sean lee out. Multiple weeks lyle collins out for the season Couple of weeks in the last year we kept hearing. Something's up with tyron smith and then all of a sudden it's time having surgery season's over you go back to the year before amari cooper was having injury issues with his I can't remember. But mari was having an injury issues. The second half of the season. They kept saying he's healthy. He's healthy dak prescott. You talk to people in that building that shoulder issue. We had gone into the philly game..

"Me before the nfl draft that. He's an even better devon white so mike. Parsons is a guy who really stood out to me on thursday night game and you know for the steelers to players really rose above the rest number one. It's chase klay pool. And i love this kid. You watch him last year and he has all of the tools to be a truly dominant number one wide receiver. First of all the kids six foot. Four two hundred forty pounds. He has great hands. He has great speed. He has explosiveness in the open field and he busts out last night and he leads sealers in receptions and receiving yards and just has a dominant first game of the preseason with three catches for sixty two yards. Look at that receiving core and there are so many questions about ben rothlisberger on what he is at the stage of his career. Especially after how last season finished. But you'll get that receiving core and you have deontay. Johnson are true number one wide receiver and the premier player on that steelers. Offense juju smith schuster. You have chased clay poor. Just an embarrassment of riches for the pittsburgh steelers at the wide receiver position that if rothlisberger is half the quarterback that he has been and you have nagae harris and you have pat fryer m- youth as security blanket to kind of take some of that pressure off. You know. this is an offense that while you talk about pittsburgh steeler. Football has always historically been about physical grounded pound football. You look at them this year with all that talent on the perimeter and at the receiver spots they can really put on a show through the air and defensively for the steelers. Was alex highsmith. You'll get the dallas cowboys offensive line and i know that there are a little bit banged up. Lay collins is hurt. Tyron smith has had limited action and it was kind of a scam. Wouldn't crew of that cowboys offensive line when healthy is one of the best in the league but highsmith was downright dominant. Last night he made the cowboys offense. Turnstiles i mean you look at his numbers. He had the three total tackles. He had one sack two tackles for loss. He was always around. the football. high. Smith is a guy that i'm going to be watching and really can't wait to see him take steps in his development in year two but another guy. I'm going to be watching this year. "Alex has night is terrible. Just give gone from mexico. Wraps isaac Gone part of the nfl's international pathway program. We got a lot of questions about him. I live in the valley in texas. So i've got a lot of questions about him. Locally here is from mexico and certainly a great story rooting for him. I would honestly. I wouldn't bet but i would think that the cowboys probably want the cowboys afforded an extra roster spot for him on their practice squad because of the rules associated with the nfl's international pathway programs. The cowboys can keep him on their practice squad at no cost. And so that's when you say no cost that's kind of the way the to roll so i do ultimately think that they will lean in that direction but i definitely want to see is it gets some more reps. I definitely want to see him. Active in the preseason. I definitely at this point. Would like to see him over brandon knight. I do think that we have seen enough from brandon. I agree with kevin that isaac did or did find a guard. I mean there's no there's no harm in this this point like there's no high level of attachment to brandon knight. There's no reason to cowboys. Should feel like they have to keep going down this path. And that's i think what the troubling thing that that's why the tien seki being a loser. Thing is so concerning because outside of and brandon your only option if tyron smith or lyle collins go down and some people say that is an if question. That's more of a wind question. Is taryn steel. And so that's tough cookies. If you're dealing with a reality where taryn steal is your go-to in the event of an emergency because that is likely going to be an emergency that ultimately shows itself because of the state tyron smith and lau collins are that the state stage. They're at in their nfl careers. Not just in general. But now that we're at a point where there are seventeen games in the regular season as opposed to sixteen baru weddings is i'll have gone seem to have a good night. I agree off the i watch. We didn't see any big splash plays nothing. That's going to be a highlight. We're excited. I mean football season and it's a really exciting thing But so there were not a lot of splash plays but there were a lot of moments to sound like a coach. I guess or you know the coach in in the case of jason Apparently wants to go by coach. I thought that. I thought though quinn bohana showed a lot of hustle tonight. I thought the quin bohana really was active. We saw that athleticism. We saw him chasing to get back into place after things got behind him. And that's not something you necessarily see from your true. Traditional one tech defensive tackles and so we've heard a lot about how athletically we saw obviously a kentucky. We know that there's a lot of that within quinn bohana so was nice justification on the draft process to ultimately see their play itself out. We've got baru says ya'aseh bohana we've got rama. Blue says bohannon with a couple of exclamation points. Gary ross says bohana had tackle for a like a five yard loss. We've got melvin says. Bohana drew multiple. Double coverages and brian says especially at three thirty plus do the fast. Seo says bohana was fast. You know the first touchdown the pittsburgh got bohana through obviously. Didn't make the tackle and touchdown happens and stuff. You kind of overlooked that play. But that's something. I again when we re watch. I really think will be even more impressive. Quinn bohana i think you really really stepped up and really kind of this defensive. Tackle rotation is interesting. Because we i think we all believe that neville gallimore is the best defensive tackle on the cowboys roster right like a controversial statement in in any sense and so after that we're looking at who's number two because just hill still on the pup list and a candidate to start the season the actual regular season on the pup list. We didn't see a lot of brent. Urban tonight's i think that was a little bit disappointing. Not that it's prince fall. But he's somebody who. I think we've all been kind of waiting to see flash through camp and whatever at this point and so you know the snaps are going to beat it for from quinton bohana and i agree with lemon highlight says so was pretty good..

Of course i'm a diet but make making make sense to me. How can it dallas cowboys. When we know they have the worst out of those three teams and the equivalent off say that the giants had should have the best office out of the three. Yeah i mean that's see this a lot of ifs and his division right you talk about last year You know washington winning you. Sometimes you can say well. The giants could've wanted. If you know philadelphia doesn't put up such fell out there right now about you know you got two teams dominate defenses in one who can have a more improved defense. We watched the coast for years with with peyton manning win with average two sub par defenses. You know as wide open know. Health is means a lot to do with you. Talk about the giants. Sustaining the injury on the offensive line. That was already razor thin. To begin with we don't have land collins or we know tyron smith can stay healthy but then you don't know if this is going to be tragic or so so many questions in his division that is wide open it all depends on who's going to step up and it'd be great. "It's taken. Its robbing peter to pay paul a little bit right. It's taken away from thirty point. Game expected offense. To in my opinion raising defense that now becomes a potentially top ten defense. And i would rather give that prescott that from a support standpoint. Give him another great wide receiver as nice as that has been between cd lamb gallup. The two tight ends tony pollard. Potentially in the slot zeke out of the backfield and the slew of other wide receivers. That can serve in pink. I think that would be overall a benefit for this team and overall that would help them. Put the best field on your team on the field in two thousand twenty one. But i know we're just going down the hypothetical path of and for xavier's to give other piece there as well which is paying him what he would expect now to clarify on that. He has told the dolphins the really all he wants is to take some of the money from the back end of his contract and guarantee it for this season. Move it up to this season and give him about sixteen million per this year. That to me is not all that unreasonable. For what i believe is one of the two best quarterbacks in the nfl he and jalen ramsey are probably the only two that i would think of constructing deal like this. But when you're talking about the guy that's led the league interceptions in each of the past two years. He's been healthy. That's led the league in interceptions since twenty seventeen with twenty one of them had ten last year standalone leader in the nfl interceptions. Like i know those are fluky stats. And those don't always come year to year except for the greats and he in my opinion appears to be one of those. Yeah now the contrary note Buggy brooks had our from affected. One cowboys are trying to do is have position lowest wide receivers whereas they go out there. And you've no idea at the start of the play. Lose your you're wide. Who's your slot that all of them can play all three slots equally will You know do they want to sacrifice that kind of potential. So i just wanted to throw that out that. There's there's arguments on both sides of the idea. Well no question. And i don't expect them to make this move quite honestly. I think the cowboys are usually pretty set in their ways. And something like. This comes up as an opportunity. They don't often take hastily if someone were to craft deal to get avian howard. I think it would be put together fairly hastily. I don't see the cowboys doing that. But it's hypothetical games especially when whose fans and you want to put the best team that you can't out there with that being said there's a number of standouts to take a look at here in cowboys training camp thus far throw a week and then there's a number of players that are also riding the struggle bus so i wanted to talk a little bit about the players who we feel like have been standout performers whether it be just their presence and their health making an impact or guys. Maybe we didn't expect a whole lot from like malik. Turner that you mentioned already. So i'll start with my first stand out of the first week of the precede of training camp and that'd be tyron smith. It's not a secret that tyron smith has been dealing with injury issues over the past. Several years He spoke about it in interviews. Both with the ticket and with the fan Mentioning that the radio stations here in dallas mentioning that You know he had been dealing with stingers had been doing with consistent issues that he had been playing through but a season ago he started to lose some strength in his left arm and that was where he finally decided that he wanted to take this surgery thing seriously and take the recovery portion of it seriously having done that now. He says he feels fresh as he has at any point in his nfl career. And that's incredible news for a cowboys team. That last year definitely missed his services on the offensive line. Of course along with his buddy. Zack martin there on the inside. And we got evidence on wednesday did taryn is back because there was a play where he was looking at the highlight of a cd. Lambs nice catches down the field. And what you happened at other. So by pointed out i said look at what happened with tyron smith mandatory and the only way to describe it is the greg that that gregory tried to rush entire smith just tossed him to the ground like he was under wake fifth-grader just absolutely. He landed on his bees five feet. Behind the line of scrimmage and it was like effortless tyrant You know he definitely good and you keep hearing people in the media that they said just watch him and you can see. He's not in pain that he's comfortable. He's smiling. he's moving. You know without any limitations. Alk believe me. I know because. I usually walk by mirror. You can tell when somebody's having trouble with their movement and everything and you know. Because i feel that and i could see it myself all the time. So it's you know it looks like he's really come along now. Can i kinda throw out mike guy. That's connor surprise. Mix please maurice candy a forgotten man because he sat out of the covert option where he didn't have the he just elected to sit out. Twenty twenty out of caution so the cowboys retained the rights to initiate ikeda back. Most people are up and well that we don't and he's just had back to back interceptions again. You're talking about the fact that it's go part of it. It goes up to the the people that he's playing against but they were good looking place you know and let's face it in an nfl games a lot of times you get bad throws the other side and the cowboys have been unable to capitalize on that trump digs has talked about the fact that he's really focused on getting interceptions when he gets his head bubble ball about letting go through missing the kennedys candidate. Looks like somebody who could be a part of that. And i think we may have slept on him a little bit just because the circumstances. That's one of the reasons why. I think that corner backward is looking a lot better than it used to. No question about it candidate is a candidate has been one of those guys that's been talked about by a lot of folks who've been watching out there camping. Yeah forgotten man because of kobe. Nineteen restrictions but also. I mean really because of the fact that we didn't really see a whole lot from him up until that point right. I mean he's still been kind of a developmental piece in the nfl and in his early portion of his career but but as far as secondary players go he's been one of the main bright spots there in that secondary without question another guy in that secondary that i would say has been a standout as far as trayvon digs. Looks every bit of the player that the cowboys took and then some the interviews that he has done in spoken about his mentality really impressed me because not only is he not impressed by anybody..

"The two games that they played giants and a did see him and i remember couple different plays where he was able to hold his own against guys like dexter lawrence and you know what i look at that and i say that's pretty solid guy right there so i probably put him over negates but i want when negates okay and i'm going to stick to it in this but that's definitely somebody that i would have to probably reconsider. That's the center position we have gates in there. Now the tackles. I know we're jumping around a little bit here but it's ok. What would tyron. Smith dallas left tackle and lane johnson the philadelphia eagles. Right tackle now. Tyran smith is injured a lot. He played about a hundred hundred fifty. Maybe snaps something along those lines two games last year and he usually plays around eight hundred. Eight hundred fifty snaps misses. A game or two here is dinged up. Plays through injury. He sat back injuries for awhile man and when i think of him i think he's like thirty five thirty six years old. He's only thirty years old. He's just been in the league forever since two thousand eleven. He's pretty he's pretty young still but he's so beat up. There's so much mileage on him. But i look at the upside and you'll look at the other tackles in the division right. Nobody really jumps out all that much at you. I mean you had washington draft samuel cosmi. They just got rid of their two tackles from last year jurong christian. They got rid of morgan moses. So they have a bunch of new guys. Brought in charles leno from the bears and i think he's a solid player but tyron smith is top five upside if he can string together a healthy enough season so i wanted to put him on this team and i think he's earned that through all of his solid play. But it's just one of those things that you think about near like. This is a a player that may not be able to see the field all that often. Because he's really struggled with injuries. But that's why. I picked a swing tackle. That makes it the fifteenth. I picked a swing tackle. That will go over a little bit so just in case tired smith gets hurt. This player can step it all right so that right tackle lane johnson. One of the best right tackles in the nfl. he just. He's an absolute stud. He's entering his age thirty one season but he's one of the most athletic tackles in the national football league. Still i mean. He came out of oklahoma. Was the fourth pick back in twenty thirteen but he can still kick out in the space he gets still locate drives through people's faces and i watch a lot of them because you know what the giants play him twice a year when he's not dinged up that a little bit lash early played four hundred and five snaps but you can see how he gets an edge. You could see how it turns his body. You could see how we seals. You could see how we could drive off the minor scrimmage. You could see how he can do up to the second level and locate smaller defenders. Knocked them out of the way. I mean he's just an absolute stud and that was an easy choice for me at right tackle there because the giants we're not going with the right tackle bear. I thought lyle collins coming off of his serious injury from last year where he didn't even play did not play a snap. That's somebody to consider. But since fleeing johnson's in this division i went with lane. Johnson and i didn't allow the swing tackle position because tyron smith is really injury. Prone lau collins coming off a series injury. So i wanted to go with a little bit more of a stable player in terms of health. Knock on wood. Because the swing tackle. That i did choose a swing of lyman. I should say is andrew thomas. I mean enter. Thomas look as much as i would love to sit here and say you know. He had a great rookie season. He didn't his first. Half of the season was horrendous. Up until i would say the philadelphia game was bad. Tampa bay was much better. Stabilized a lot and then they faced vance joseph and the arizona. Cardinals was not great but neither was the entire offense of line. Felt like they were just totally out-schemed remember. They had a coaching change. A little bit earlier googly. Emma was their coach. There was a lot of turmoil going on rob sale. We hope is going to stabilize this office of line lease. That's what i hope and then the baltimore game also not great. I would say but you had a lot of good reps there you see. There was a confidence about him and he wasn't making those same terrible egregious errors that he was making early in the season. So had him as a swing tackle mostly for insurance tyron smith to be honest. I mean again lau. Cons is a better player than andrew. Thomas right now but inter thomas twenty two years old. He's going to develop. And i think what we saw from him. The upside that we saw from him elite in the year or something to kind of hope that he can take into twenty one build upon it with teaching and the tutelage fraud sale and joe judge and then we could see the player that we hoped he could be when we selected him more when the giants elected him with the fourth overall selection. Over guys like trista. Wharfs mci becton and federick wills. So that's where. I went with andrew. Thomas as swing. Linemen somebody who can be that insurance policy for tyron smith now interior office of line other than the center. This was easy for me again. Zack martin brennan. Sheriff left guard zack. Martin right guard brennan sheriff there exceptional guards to the better guards in the national football league. Zack martin he was hurt. Last year only played three hundred ninety seven snaps but they were starting to play him at right tackle. He could just kick wherever you need them. And since he came into the league in two thousand fourteen. He's been one of the best offense. Lineman i mean you have clinton nelson is probably the best guard right now in the national football league. Zack martin is up there when he is healthy. So you had to go with him at that point at the left guard and then right gore for brennan. Sheriff i mean that was another no brainer for me. I mean the giants guard right now. Shane lemieux will hernandez we'll hernandez played half the season and they both gave up over fifty pressures between him and twenty twenty alone only played half the season. So i mean that's not going to be a giant in terms of the guards. I think brandon brooks is a player that could certainly be considered but again hurt the entire twenty twenty season coming off of a devastating injury. Which seems like it's the theme of a lot of these offensive teams that we're going over to the nfc east. There's a lot of these big time players especially in the trenches that are coming off just terrible. Injuries and brandon brooks is one of brennan brooks when healthy is exceptional than the other washington. Football team. guard is eric. Flowers definitely not going to go with eric. Flowers wasn't gonna go in that direction especially when you have brennan. Sheriff choose from an and brandon brooks. Who would have been waiting in the wings. Despite the fact that he was coming off of serious injury but you know what the nfc east get eric flowers back because he spent that one season with the miami dolphins. No longer there. Obviously so zack. Martin brennan share nick gates as the interior offensive linemen. And that's the offense right there. And i wanted to kind of break. That down real quick though through my thoughts as to why i selected who i selected it turns out of the fifteen players not including two thirteen personnel of kyle rudolph they were four giants saquon. Barkley kenny golladay negates. Who's a question. Mark and andrew thomas as swing tackle. There were five cowboys. Three eagles and three washington football team players. Dallas Cowboys make handful of roster moves, activate Brown from IR
"Tyron Smith is now gone for the year it was announced on Friday two days ago Mike. McCarthy confirmed the report from NFL networks. Mike Fellow and Jane Slater Day before Mike McCarthy confirmed the tarrant Smith will undergo season ending surgery next week the cowboys are hopeful that he'll be back in two thousand and twenty one the Dallas cowboys already down there other offensive tackle in Lyle Collins Who Unlike Tyran Smith did not play a down this season. Also, it's worth mentioning that Travis Frederick. Retired shortly after Mike McCarthy took over as head coach his replacement if you want to call them that in Joe Looney. A sprained MC l. he is scheduled or slated I should say to miss the next two to three weeks just depends how that's going to go tyler beyond the cowboys fourth round rookie out of Wisconsin. Same place they got Travis. Frederick. Of course, seemingly is a much more stable option than anybody that's going to replace tarrant Smith or Lyle Collins but I bring all of this up to say that when my McCarthy. Signed his contract to be the head coach of the Dallas cowboys he did. So with likely knowledge that at the very least tired smitten, Lyle Collins would be playing for his football team and quite possibly unless you knew at the time that Travis Frederick was going to retire the Travis. Frederick. would be playing as well. So he's now down sixty percent of the offensive line he thought that he. Would have their many defensive players that are out Joe McCoy. One of the teams biggest off season signings is gone because he got hurt on the first day of practice and so this this team and where they are a month into the season is very different than the one Mike McCarthy sat down implant. That's all I'm saying it is definitely true that you have to adjust in the NFL. That's life things happen injuries happen with stuff happens that sports that's life like I said and so Mike McCarthy ultimately has to be held responsible for that because he's the head coach that's the hat that he wears, but it is worth saying and that's why I said now let's talk about some of these injuries and some of the roster moves the Dallas cowboys made ahead of this game on. Saturday day before this that you and I are talking day before game. Day the. Dallas. Cowboys made a handful of roster adjustments. It had been rumored all week long that Anthony. Browne would be returning from injured reserve and remember that injured reserve operates differently due to cove nineteen protocols and now nfl players only have to be on injured reserve for three weeks before they are eligible to return Anthony Brown. Is Eligible to return. It was speculated all week long that he would rejoin the cowboys they are in massive need of help in their secondary. So they officially Anthony Brown bag he is the first player that the Dallas cowboys have brought back off of injured reserve so far this season other candidates for this potential obviously include Sean Lee late and vanish. We'll see about cam irving things like that. But Anthony Brown I one. So the cowboys activated Anthony Brown. He is now part of the fifty three man roster, of course. So is Francis Bernard a fan favourite linebacker, undrafted free agent linebacker out of Utah many people, Francis, Bernard in the training camp portion of the year. Obviously no preseason he is. Now on the fifty three man roster, the cowboys have needed massive help in the linebacker. Department So far this season
