"All right, well, I mean, since you told us defense doesn't matter, we should be able to address this side of the ball in about 12 seconds. Way to put words in my mouth. I know. You knew exactly how I was going to do it. Come on, you set yourself up perfectly for it. When you look at New Orleans defensively, they give up less than 20 points per game last year and well under a hundred yards rushing both were the fourth fewest in the National Football League. In each of their last 5 games, the saints defense was stingy, hell teams under 21 points, and obviously shut out Tom Brady at home for the first time in his career. The saints reaped the benefits in the win column going four in one during that stretch. But so much of New Orleans success defensively was attributed to being elite and preventing touchdowns in the red zone. That number pane probably not sustainable this year. They're obviously is a lot of continuity and pieces to like. But what do you look at from this saint's defense going forward? I mean, I think Dennis Allen's an elite defensive mind. Don't know what that means as a head coach. I think the hope is that with more on his plate now, New Orleans doesn't take a step back defensively. And you think about what's gone on here. It's all about continuity. That's the theme. So Dennis Allen promoted Ryan Nielsen and Chris Richard from within as co defensive coordinators. I like the top line talent here. Some questions about depth, that linebacker passed tomorrow Davis and on the interior of the defensive line. It'll be interesting to see if there's a reunion with Malcolm Brown. I know he was just cut. But the starting 11 has serious juice. Top 5 leaders in pressure rate return, defensive line in general has just real horses. You look at cam Jordan. The guy's just missed a reliable. He's a Hall of Famer for sure. He's missed two games and 11 seasons. Great out the fourth best defensive end in the league over the last 5 seasons. You have David on yamada. Real force inside 5th and pressure rate contract year for him. Shy tuttle graded out the tenth best run stopping defensive tackle among big fellows with at least 450 snaps. Also in a contract here. Mark is Davenport had his best season last year on more than 15% of defensive snaps Davenport had a pressure or a run stop would be nice to have him for a full season. He has missed 17 games in four years. So hopefully cam Jordan can kind of wear off on him and he can complete a season. Then you have paint and Turner. The 28th pick last year only played a 144 snaps as a rookie, but super productive snaps. He created a pressure or run stop on 14% of snaps. So I would expect to see an increase in snap rate for Turner. That's a really nice defensive line. We know Marshawn Lattimore is really confident. He sent out a tweet recently and sinuated they'll be dominant again. And the tweet happened to come around the same time that Aaron Rodgers was criticizing his receivers for not being reliable after a joint scrimmage. The scrimmage was against the saints defense. So it was interesting to kind of see the timing of that. There's always two sides of a story. There's one account. There's another account and then somewhere in the middle, there's always the truth. Exactly. You mentioned the secondary. I think it's solid again. Lattimore did have a bounce back season last year graded out tenth among corners with at least 400 snaps. Still gives up too many touchdowns. Paulson and debo was the third round rookie got thrown into the fire, the first game. He struggled mightily early. Did finish the season with 5 straight games with a positive coverage grade. So that's something to think about as we head into year two. Marcus may, tyron Matthew at safety were great value signings, both of their contracts combined are less than what Jamal Adams is making. Rumor has it. The chemistry between Matthew and May is growing rapidly throughout camp. To me, you look at may, so underrated. Three elite seasons from 2018 to 2021 before getting injured last season. You have Gardner Johnson who's going to man the slot. You look at how Dennis Allen plays his defense. They're either in dime or nickel in 83% of snaps. That secondary depth is important. They brought back Bradley Roby and PJ Williams. They went out and drafted a lot they tailor a corner from Tennessee with the 49th pick. There are some pieces there. And I'm just hearing in camp that the secondary has been very good. This is to me a fun defense. They're aggressive, lots of personalities. They're going to talk to you a little bit. Play lots of man coverage. They let you know that your mom and your sister are pretty ugly. That's just their vibe. I'm glad you said, I'm glad you sanitized some of the language at C dig procedure gardener Johnson has been known to use out there on the football field. Thank you. Yes, yes. This was the number one defense in first down efficiency allowed in early down success rate aloud. Now it would be nice if the saints limited the explosive passes better. There were 20th in that regard. But giving up chunks kind of goes with the territory of being this aggressive and coverage. But I think for the saints to be elite defensively. Marshawn Lattimore is projecting. Regression can't hit. The saints only allowed touchdowns on 43% of red zone trips. That was 7% better than the second best defense. Saints are also going to see an uptick in schedule of offenses faced. In terms of yards per play, the saints face a top 5 schedule of offenses. This season compared to a bottom ten schedule last season. But this is very, very much an interesting team. This was a bion team all summer. Again, going over 7 and a half wins. It's now why we're at 8 and a half, partly because of the continuity, partly because of the buy in partly because the NFC looks like there's room for a team that's kind of middling to make a leap. There are no doubt if the apple cart is going to be upset in the NFC south this year. The New Orleans scenes could be the team leading that particular charge. You can follow pain on Twitter at pain insider, I'm Todd fuhrman, you of course can follow me there, but most importantly, follow the podcast at bet the board pod, you'll of course see plenty of news updates, schedule alerts and what have you and all the details to get into the bet the board football

"Will there be any discipline from the Texans? Well, drew, what happened today was the Texans settled with the 30 woman who alleged essentially that deshaun Watson acted inappropriately and they settled with Tony busby the attorney who issued a statement and here's the bottom line. The Texans did not want this to be a prolonged situation. You see what they had to say. This is not an admission of any wrongdoing, but instead a clear stand against any form of sexual assault and misconduct. We hope that today's resolution will provide some form of closure to the parties involved. Our fans in the Houston community at large is an organization will now turn our focus to the future and doing what we can do to ensure respect for all. And I think really that was the idea of this all along from the Texan standpoint, the Texans feel like the league has looked into their behavior and their activity over the last 16 months and they don't believe that the league has found anything. The Texans have been in contact with the league and I think the Texans felt comfortable that if they move forward here that they would essentially be turning the page and not having this hang over the organization this season. They watched what unfolded between Tony busby and deshaun Watson last season and the Texans wanted no part of that this season and so today they reached a settlement with 30 of the victims who alleged that those incidents from deshaun Watson. So Adam, then where do we stand on the Watson rolling currently? Look, everybody right now is waiting for the judge Sue L Robinson to make her decision. She received the post hearing briefs this week. She's got other cases. She's busy, while everybody around the NFL waits for a decision on deshaun Watson and how much discipline there will be. That's not how the judge is operating. She's going to move at her own pace according to her own schedule. I don't think she really cares that training camp opens in a couple of weeks that the football season is getting underway that the preseasons getting ready to get started. She wants to make sure that she comes to a fair thorough complete decision in this particular case, though I do think that there's a sense we could potentially get something the end of next week. Maybe the week after, but again, there's no track record with this judge, so nobody knows exactly how she's going to rule. Well, chef, those buzz words of fair and thorough come to the forefront and are most paramount in a circumstance is important as this one. Coming up next on NFL live. Here were chief's opponent. Next Wednesday on ABC, the chef. Steph Curry hosting, we know he's got range to further prove taking on this latest role of award show hosts. And speaking of playmakers, tyron Matthews signed a three year $28 million contract with the saints this off season chiefs. Now I have to replace the defender who made an impact all over the field. Just more than half of his snaps last season came at safety. Saw significant time as a slot corner and linebacker. Raiders tight end Darren Waller had this to say about not having to face Matthew twice a year. That dude's like a lion out there, you know? There's not many people who can replicate that level of raising everybody's intensity level and energy level and just a collective confidence. So I wonder who's going to be that for them now because there's few people, if any who can do it the way that he does. And I feel like he just gave them an identity. I mean, high praise coming from a superstar. So Mike, how big of an impact is it for the chiefs, not having Matthew any longer? Not much at all. One of the big challenges when you're in a front office is you have to assess when a good player is declining at a young player is ascending. They sign Justin Reed, who's 25 years old from the Houston Texans, who played a little bit more traditional free safety. And I think a younger ascending Justin Reed is not really far behind if at all from a 30 year old sort of declining honey badger. Now, honey badger does bring a lot of that intensity and intangibles. But I think they did a really good job of replacing tyro Matthew with just a degree. And then you factor and they had two first round pick guys that they used offensively Trent mcduffie who plays a very competitive man to man at corner one of my favorite players in the draft Jordan and then George Carlos and what Carlos what's interesting to me is because of Frank Clark and because of Chris Jones, he's going to get a lot of one on one matchup. So he'll have plenty of opportunities as well. So this chief defense is going to look different. I don't think it's going to be worse. And no doubt, Mike, Justin Reed is a player that the chiefs targeted from the outset of free agency and there was a time that they once went out and signed tyron Matthew away from the Houston Texans in an effort to upgrade their defense and it helped result in a Super Bowl title and now once again, when they felt that they saw a little bit of a decline in the way that Matthew tackle but not the intangibles that he brought once again, they dipped back into the Houston Texans organization and signed a standout young safety and Justin Reed who brings some of those same intangibles and they believe he's going to fit in great on that defense. You mentioned the other moves. So this team made a conscientious effort in a division where the offensive talent was upgraded across the board in Los Angeles, Denver, Las Vegas, to improve its defense and the chiefs believe that they've done that this off season. I mean, let's pick up right there. Mike, I mean, it's a ridiculously loaded offensive side of the ball and the AFC west. And the chiefs defense are facing tough quarterback after a tough quarterback. Even outside of the division. So how does this defense content? Yeah, and that's really you see on this graphic here. That is a big concern. I had the privilege of working for coach Parcells for four years, guys. He always talked about hitting yardage, and I think where the chiefs actually are going to be hurt defensively is the loss of Tyree kill. And what I mean by that is the field position flipped a lot easier when you were so explosive on offense. Now they still have Valdez scantly and sky more. But because this offense won't be as prolific, the chief's defense is going to be more of a full field defense. And that will wear down and draw you make a great point when you're talking about Justin Herbert and Derek Carr, quarterbacks are going to be facing throughout the season. That's really going to be a tall order. So I think this defense will be good, but it is going to be a formidable challenge. And for chargers fans out there, stay tuned for the Herbert and chargers love coming a little bit later on in the show. So you part with a pair of seasoned leaders in that locker room and Hitchens and Matthew, then you bring in some youngsters, some youth in karloff and mcduffie. It'll be interesting to see how that translates

"Money to count on I know. We've got two game 7s in the Stanley Cup playoffs Saturday and ESPN and on the app, the ruins are in Carolina to take on the hurricanes at four 30 eastern, and then the kings and oilers square off it. Rogers place in Edmonton at ten eastern. There's nothing better than these two words in sports and they are game 7 and these are on the ice. Are we got some breaking news here on NFL live and for that we go to Adam Schefter for the latest out of New Orleans. Oh, Shay wide receiver Jarvis Landry who is released earlier. This all season by the Cleveland Browns now plans to sign with the New Orleans Saints he announced the news on social media. If you go back and remember, shortly after he was cut, one of the first teams that he was in contact with was the New Orleans Saints, the saints and the chiefs out of the gate were most interested. And in the end it comes back to the New Orleans Saints who continue to work financial magic with their salary cap situation and squeeze in players like Jarvis landy like tyron Matthew and crystal lavi, their first round draft pick who signed earlier today. All right, Adam, thank you. And you mentioned there, tyron Matthew, who already hit the bird, good old Twitter, sent this out to Jarvis Landry. Let's do it like old time soldier because these two were teammates back in 2011 at LSU and here's to hoping that the saints can replicate that same kind of success those two had down in the Bayou. All right, let's go back to the NFL schedule here because week one will feature the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys. The cowboys won the NFC east last year, but the last time we saw deck and company on the field, they were basically stumbling through the last seconds of a playoff game against the niners. Tom Brady is also never lost to the cowboys in his entire career. Is that streak really gonna end in week one? We will find out. The cowboys opened the 2022 season with two consecutive home games for the first time since 2001, but they won't be easy as the Buccaneers and bangles will be coming to AT&T Stadium. The good news though for Dallas is that they have the easiest strength of schedule this season based on their opponents win percentage last year. In the previous ten years, the team entering the season with the easiest schedule has made the playoffs 7 times with four of those teams making it to the conference championship game and so Mina can the cowboys capitalize on this easy slate that they have as we look ahead. I think they can. The easy slate is in part because they are in the NFC east, they also get to play the AFC south. But I also think that this roster is capable of winning. They did take a bit of a step back this year. You got to say that to anyone who doesn't believe the cap is real in the off season and there are some question marks. I mean, right tackle. I don't know, cornerback and not so sure about that. But here's the thing, Shay. If dak Prescott returns to form and plays like he did in the first few weeks of last season, they should win the division because he is the best quarterback, but that has to happen because the rest of the roster has lost ground relative to some of the other teams. Mina, I would say you can say two things can be true. The cowboys roster might have gotten worse, but their team actually got better. I feel like they had too many miles to feed in that receiver room last year with Amari Cooper Michael Gallup and also CD lamb. So now having gotten rid of Amari Cooper, it's going to allow them to get back to what their identities should be and that should be relying on the running game and have the big play passing ability with those other receivers. Doc did play out of his mind at the beginning of last year, but he started to falter off because I felt like they had too many expectations for their wide receivers to be the ones leading the team to victory. Well, now they've got CD lamb. They've got Michael Gallup coming back off of injury. They added James Washington and Jalen tober, but there's not the same type of onus to throw those guys the football because they're not making the money that Amari Cooper was making last year. So although the cowboys roster might look like it's not as good, they still have ballers, shot callers, and a guys with a whole lot of dollars in that locker room and they can win. What are we talking about here? We're doing all this discussion about personnel and stuff. This is going to be the same old cowboys that we've seen every year almost, where they just start. They start off. People buy into them and then later on in season, they just fold up. So until the cowboys proved me wrong, that's the story I'm sticking to. I'm telling you that NFC eastman, they haven't seen back to back champions since 2003, 2004. It has been a difficult place to win. And back to back years. All right, schedule release in the NFL is basically like Super Bowl Sunday, for NFL teams and their social media departments. If you didn't see yesterday, it was a treat. Shout out to all the creativity. And in some cases, all the pettiness that was on display across the NFL last night. I've been working on a top secret mission of putting together the giant schedule and you never know who might be trying to get their hands on it. Hey. Come on. Here's what I heard. I don't want to hear you talking about the schedule. They call me the plumber. The least of my house. Oh, I love it. I haven't seen the script. What's happening? Check, check, check, check, fire the easy. Come on, I almost get your to go. I remember my nickname Matty ice because I have an undeniable passion for ice sculpting. Detroit of his old training. Right now we're gonna share with you. Intelligent options, the Detroit Lions will be using to increase win ability throughout the 2022 season. What does this all mean?.

"You know, obviously, this is a team and a program that really watched my whole life growing up and, you know, I didn't even go back to Hurricane Katrina, right? And, you know, in the same team back, I believe they were playing against the focus. And I mean, it was just so electric building, you know, and I remember doing some blocking a punt and you know, I just remember, you know, how proud our community was, you know, and so I'm looking forward to being, you know, a reflection of that, you know, trying to play as hard as I can and, you know, so I can make that city, you know, as proud as I can make it. You were in the building that night? Turn, did you say that? No, no, no. We're in the city. I was in the building that night, sitting next to Marshall faulk of all people, mister New Orleans, right? I remember that night like it was yesterday. I'm getting goosebumps even recalling a tyrant. Where Vic fumbled out of bounds in that first series. And when the ball was initially on the ground and the shrieks and the excitement and the yells and the cheers that I heard was the loudest I've ever heard. And I'm like, I can't get any that's the loudest I've ever heard of building in my entire life. Then the ball rolled out of bounds. And then I thought nothing will ever get louder in the history of the Superdome. And I made a mental note to say, you know, remember that moment because that was incredible. And we'll see how things play out from here on out. And then I think it was either the next nap or two snaps later and Steve gleason blocked that punt. And I didn't think a building could be louder and then that happened. That was insane, tyron. Absolutely. Absolutely, man. That's thanks man for you, man. Like I said, you know, this happened to go back to a silly that a city that really celebrates people as cultures, sports, and so, you know, more than anything in this business, you know, even just trying to take the feeling when, you know, not just for yourself and your teammates but for the fans too. So just looking forward last to hopefully, you know, bringing those kind of moments and memories, you know, back to the Bayou. Tyron Matthew here on the rich eisen show. Let's get to the community. Portion of this conversation because you're so terrific at that. And we've had many conversations about how you've always maintained a presence in Louisiana. In this town. And now your presence is there too. What are your what plans might you have? What do you thinking about on advancing the ball on that front tyrant? Yeah, absolutely, man. Obviously, you know, you know, me and my foundation foundation really have spent really the last, you know, 6, 7 years, just doing as much as we can, trying to be a resource, you know, to all the kids and, you know, I'm really hoping and looking forward to really, you know, taking the next step, right? You know, hopefully, you know, one of my biggest dreams is to hopefully, you know, bring a school to New Orleans, a school of second chance in school that cheetah's kids, you know, to homes and just how to, you know, the ability to use certain tools to, you know, in the real world. So I think for me and my foundation, that's the next big dream, you know, for us is to hopefully bring a school there that can really impact the kids and really shape and mold them, you know, in the right way. So I think that's the next big dream, you know, but you know, I think from a day to today standpoint, you know, much a month, you know, we're still going to keep up, you know, with all our mentorship programs, you know, we still want to be an impact, you know, for families, you know, during the holiday season and, you know, obviously with kids get back to school, you know, I'm also looking forward to bringing my camp back to Louisiana. This year. So kids have been really looking forward to that. So I mean, it's a lot, you know, on the plate right now, a lot that we're looking forward to. And there's more so happy answer to get back to Louisiana, you know, with some great people so we can really be able to impact on forward. Might we see you in Baton Rouge more? Turn? Yeah, I think it's only right, man. You know, you know, I spent as much time as I can. You know, in Baton Rouge, really this past all season, you know, obviously approach house, you know, he's a defensive coordinator over there now and me and him, you know, go back to Kansas City together and he's such a great coach. So he's such a good deal to be around as well. So, but yeah, man, it's always good to get back to back Android that, you know, I'm hoping that I can, you know, talk to the team more and be around those guys more because there's so much talent, you know, in that Tiger's building right now that those guys that have to tap into, you know? Can you help Brian Kelly with his dance moves a little bit, tyron? Can you do everybody a favor on that front? I would say that BT has cooler than people give them credit for, man. You know, so he's a cool dude, man, he's definitely a bright line. He's smart. But yeah, man, you know, I'm not a great dancer either, right? Yeah, man, but you know, that's why I never Gritty and nothing like that, man. You know, Justin, you have to stand on those young boys. I guess you have to know your limits, right?.

"Air raid and we saw a lot of that ten personnel, but quietly this offense was actually better running the ball and throwing to tight ends that first year. And I think they need to go back to that in a lot of ways. This is not a team that can roll out four wide receivers. This is a team that drafted Trey McBride who I thought was the best tight end in the draft, and of course, has Zach Ertz as well and has a good running back situation. I think they need to radically rethink their offense if they expect to compete this season. I mean, this is a good point, I mean, I would say, do they view Hollywood as a bonafide number one? Because I don't know if they do. Now, I know they traded a first round pick form so you would think that. But I don't know if they view him as the same scheme changer that Deandre Hopkins is. Last year, Kyler was 8 and two as they're starting quarterback with Deandre Hopkins. He was one in four without him. So how does cliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray in a must win year contracts online all that stuff? How do they build an offense without that bona FIDE number one scheme changing kind of dominant receiver? Because I do not believe that's Hollywood Brown and I don't believe it's rendezvous more, so if they go to a 12 offense, you're also playing to what I would say is not your quarterback strength. That's interesting. Amina, when you think about Hollywood Brown and the way that you look at him is he a bona FIDE number one, I realize maybe some of that's left to be figured out, but right now yeah. I mean, he certainly not a number one in the sense that Hopkins was one of the most versatile and sure handed notably the contrast there, receivers in the NFL. He completely tilts the field in a way that Hollywood Brown doesn't. However, Hollywood brings so unique attributes to this offense, in addition to his speed, you can use him to stretch the field horizontally. So again, this is really a challenge for cliff Kingsbury more than anyone else. All right, let's get to the other breaking news of the day. That's tyron Matthew. And over the last three seasons, Matthew was held opposing quarterbacks to the 5th lowest passer rating among players that have been targeted at least a 125 times. Matthew has the best mark by a safety and he's one of two defensive backs to earn three first team all pro selections since 2015. That's a long with Jalen Ramsey. So he now signs with the saints he goes home, Dan, how do you feel about this signing? I love it for New Orleans. I think first of all, you'll see him play that very similar Malcolm Jenkins type of role where he could play linebacker, it'll be a blitzer, the playmate safety. I love that it allows other players on their defense to play to their ideal positions like Chauncey Gardner Johnson doesn't have to play safety. He then allows him to play inside of that nickel position. They got Marcus made from the New York Jets. The saints fundamentally meaning you know this, like defensively, they're about we want to rush for. We want to play that man to man sticky coverage underneath and they're too safety's really are instinct based vision based ball hawks because of the pressure in the coverage and I think that is what to Ron Matthew does absolutely at his best. And if that pass rush is as good as it has been in years past, this is going to be phenomenal for the saints defense. Nina, this team had a good couple of days in terms of signing and what did you think of their draft, notably you think about Chris O lobby, they really wanted to get a lobby on this team, obviously. Yeah, I think everything the saints have done from the off season to signing Matthew to their draft speaks to their confidence in Jameis Winston. To the fact that they believe they can win now, going back to the lava trade. You know, so we saw some other big wide receiver moves in this draft, the Lions trading out for Jameson Williams, the eagles trading, a first rounder for AJ Brown and then paying him notably, those teams did not trade 2023 first round picks. The saints did that to go up and get olave. That is a win now state of mind, whether it'll work, remains to be seen, but I think their intentions and their approach to this season are very clear and make a bit of sense when you consider as we've discussed the weekend end of C yeah, Adam, when you broke the news about the saints trading with the eagles when it came to the draft picks, you said that the saints really felt good about their chances. How would you add on to that now that you see this signing and then of course they're draft? Well, it's very evident. They obviously felt like they had to move up to stay in front of the Washington commanders and the Green Bay Packers to go get Chris a lobby because I think they felt that those two teams were zeroed in on a lobby. And if you just look at all these moves, Tyra Matt that on a cap strapped team, it's a situation where they believe that they're good enough to beat Tom Brady and the bucks this season, which is why they made the moves for the picks. This season because they believe that they can win the division this season and the honey badger is just more evidence of that. They're playing for now. And if it goes the other way, the Philadelphia Eagles would be the benefactors of it in the 2023 drip, but right now the saints feel like they're built to compete and win this upcoming season. This saints defensive line is dominated Tampa Bay over the last two years and that Tampa Bay offensive line was better than it is now. The saints season will come down to two things. How well Jameis Winston plays off the knee and without Sean Payton and is Trevor penning the legit left tackle that they believe him to be. I can not wait to see what Jameis Winston does this year. You guys, I feel like this could finally be the Jameis that we thought he would be years ago when he was drafted. And when we felt like he brought so much talent to the league, we got a lot more coming your way on NFL life this week. You guys, we're not going anywhere. "Like they're just bargain shopping. I do understand the Patriots. I do understand the patriot Sally cap. The Patriots salary cap is very much like the cash I have in my wallet. Like, oh, I have $20. I bought a coffee. That was $17. If I get two for sandwich, it's like, okay, now I'm done. There is no good news, everybody. We got tyron Matthew. And we were paying him $12 million a year. Like, oh, great. It just feels very, it feels very almost seems like it almost seems like the NFL salary cap is a credit card in college. That you can either go nuts with or be responsible with. And it seems like the Patriots are just super responsible. We don't want to do this. It could hurt us down the road. The part I don't get is, they have a quarterback on a rookie contract who's picked in the middle of the first round, which is the biggest asset you have. You have everybody else is like, Derek Carr. I don't know, $40 million a year extension, right? Every good team that they're competing against is paying somewhere between like 20 and 50 million for their quarterback. And the Pats have a quarterback probably making like three or four, and they're like. Two rich for our blood. I think I followed the salary cap guy on patriot Sally cap on Twitter. I like that one. And excellent. I think we're going to have a ton of money next year. Preseason. I don't like to be in the preseason talking about next year already. Two years. Back to the clippers. They didn't really from a salary standpoint, get crushed. The first two years. But this year's team, which went 42 and 40, Paul George played 31 games Kawhi played zero games. $166 million payroll. $83 million luxury tax bill. The team cost $249 million. I guess the bigger picture thing for the clippers, it wasn't just a gamble on winning the title. It was a gamble on trying to own basketball in LA. It was bombers belief that he could build an LA basketball team that could either rival or surpass the Lakers. Right down to the fact he's building this multi-billion dollar basketball arena in Inglewood because he doesn't want to be tied to Lakers in any way. He's going to, we're going to beat these guys. And they get Kawhi and they get Paul George, Kawhi made first team on VA last year. Paul George made 13. So two of the best 15 guys in the league. So I still think it's defensible. It's just kind of amazing how bad the luck was with the Kauai injury when it happened. To have somebody heard his ACL in round two of a playoff series that they're probably about to win. But then it's a 12 month injury and it brings it to the next so it's almost like you somehow lose two playoffs with the same injury, which is almost endeavor, I guess, has a little bit of this with Jamal Murray, but that to me, that gets into some weird clippers cursed shit, which I was writing about 2009 about pulling the team away from buffalo and all the weird shit that happened. This is among the weirdest thing that's happened to them. I love that you were a wonderful mix of in depth analysis and then just talking about curses..

"All due respect. Oh boy. I love it. Made me cringe and actually put my head down on my desk for a minute. Why? Come on you are still the fourth best roster from top to bottom in that division. There are plenty of holes on defense in the offensive line that's going to cause an issue for them. Casey still the class of the division, even though I'm a Bronco fan and it kills me to say that. Why do you say that? But why do you say that? Because again, the reason why I have the chiefs that even in the top 5 is because of mahomes and read and Kelsey in that offensive line. Defensively, I think missing tyron Matthew is going to be huge. Maybe they know better, I don't know. But mahomes is ripped our hearts out over here for quite some time. Right. And so until we're able to beat them, we've got to give them the respect there do. But ultimately, in January, when you're wrong, there are going to be some accountability taken on your own. I will be more than happy. And listen, I wanted to know, April 12th, I made this call on April 12th. Let's see what the draft says and let's see what happens during training camp. I might absolutely jump off all of this. And see and see what happens. But I like their plan to stick with car. And devonte Adams might be, let's call it a problem for you, you know? I think that's a problem for everybody there in Las Vegas. They'll be better, but they come to your senses. Okay, thanks very much. Better. And by the way, a team that was 7th overall and wound up or and wound up or they wound up more than better than 7th overall road. They wound up 5th overall. In the AFC last year. They were a top 5 team in the AFC last year, were they not? Correct. So I just bumped them up to three. That's all. I made him a division winner. That's all. I was about to say, it wasn't 7th overall, that last game, you know, they tied they could have been right around there. They wound up up some 5 seed and they went into Cincinnati and had the ball to try and win it. At the end. All that Cincinnati phone almost didn't happen. Yeah, Richard. Derek Carr spoke a little bit ago, said he only wanted to be a raider. Quote, I'm either going to be a raider or I'm going to be playing golf. I don't want to play anywhere else. Okay. By the way, he's now got the cash for a membership wherever he wants. If he'll be getting that top shot membership anytime soon. The one at the end. Also heard from a certain county in chiefs kingdom. Oh. During, I believe, let's get the timestamp during a break before Gabriel Iglesias joined this program. I received a text that Erica texted you. A certain Modern Family. It's a die hard chiefs fan. Took the screen grab, I believe the Sunday Night football Twitter account made of my top 5 picks and we greatly appreciate the social media friendship with our friends at NBC sports. Love that. You're on NBC sports. I love it. We're like this. We see each other. And he sent me that text via text. He sent that screen grip. He wrote underneath, is this true? Oh, did you send him the video? I wrote back. It is. And he wrote back three more words. How dare you? Not suck at eisen. No. How dare you? How dare you? Well. And again, I'm just right now, they might draft somebody in the first round at wide receiver who would be dynamic. We won't know until the fall, but we might say that's a good one. And then, you know, I just don't know, man. They were having trouble being consistent offensively with tyreek hill last year. Should I say you're in the top 5 at least? Because of mahomes and Kelsey and Andy. Right? So there's all of that. What's our final poll results over there, Christopher? Final poll results, guys. Quarterback under the most pressure, heading into the 2022 season. 39% dak Prescott. Hey. 28% Aaron Rodgers. 21% Russell Wilson, 11% Derek Carr. You can't, you can't accuse me of placing my thumb on the scale on that one because I chose Russell Wilson, and he finished third. Behind Aaron Rodgers, who you think as the most pressure right, I think so, yeah. Okay. And. TJ stack, duck wins. Of course. Because like I said, the thing about the cowboys is love is haters. Everyone's got an opinion. They usually move. And he pulled that. We want to put out a poll with putting mahomes in instead of Jack and see what the results are? Sure. Changes everything. No, no. It's too late. We'll do it tomorrow. We'll do tomorrow. What do you mean do it tomorrow? Do it today. I'm just a little bit. What do we care? It's our Twitter feed. We get to do what we do. All right, okay. What do you want me to say? Because TJ is no. No. Just put it out there. You need to attach. You can. Order in the drive-through. I feel about these poll questions anyway. You hate them. But you asked me about them, but then you also say you hate.

"To right. Cedric Wills in his second season, a first round pick last year, but Tonio, Treader Teller and Conklin you know, in in the Tonio and Treader. They have played every single snap in the last four years. Led guarded Centre combination. Yeah. And job Antonio last year Pro Bowl player. Really consistent performer Mayfield out of the shotgun on second eight. Harrison Bryant wide as a tight end will fill the other way left. He gets out of the back there with some space crawls down the left sideline jumps out of pounds at the 35 yard line. It's a first down Jerry is Sneed on the corner game a lot of room and finally gets to him, but not before a first down yardage for Chuck. Both backs for Cleveland. Both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are excellent receivers. Whether it's just a flat route like we saw from shut out of the backfield of the spring game or the Checkdown game. They're very important to what they do offensively trouble backfield right now, Cooper in motion of the left first it's him for the Browns on their own 35 take the snap. Mayfield gives the chub bouncing to the outside, turning the corner at the 40 and roughed out of bounds by Sneed at the 41 yard line again of six. Are the best run here in the first possession for Nick Chubb. Well, the Kansas City Chiefs today are going to be without their star defensive back Tyron Matthew. Who's the captain? Their leader can really do a lot of different things. He's got great instincts for the game. He was struck by Covid and some of the rules that involved Kobe warmed up today. He's not out there. One Thornhill is, but they're not the same defense without Matthew under center, Mayfield, executive four staggered I takes the snap play action pressure throws on the run near side a great catch. Is made by Cooper and Hooper stumbling inside Kansas City territory and.

"Issue none of that's happening and apparently not just with me but nobody. I mean you're a word about this not from. Espn off methyl network medic anywhere nowhere. None of these these outlets quoting ours able really get any news on this. If i add some certainly share. I passing along. I don't it's been very very quiet on avenue and that lens medley may be both sides are saying look. Let's not such anything up. It's not inflame it. It's work quietly Usually when that happens that means there's at least a mutual respect. There's a belief that something can get done because otherwise you start hearing it in the media users do i mean that's just the way this stuff works. Somebody leaks something right now. Nothing in so. I think qualities frustrating. Chief's fan wise guy outside. You should be. I'll tell you this. I do know that. The chiefs have an immense amount of respect for as a player and as an individual. They have a lot of value. Cram so i. I don't think this is a scenario where you know fans love him. Teammates love and but the team thinks maybe the rolls over value. I do not think. That's the case. I think kansas city has all lot of of admiration for tyron matthew and tyrod. There's been very open about the fact that he wants to stay there. So when you have that i do think eventually look the bridge is going to gap the gap will be and they'll figure this out and it's important that they figure this out because with orlando brown also on a one year deal and my understanding is talking to sources back. When this that trade went down they were fine with kind of letting it play out. Let new year plow both sides or cool with that revisit. The talks after i think the idea was always wallets. Tag will tyrod getting extension. Somebody's hitting the market. And if you're the chief you only have one of those guys get free agency. So it's imperative that they signed tyron matthew before we started getting down that road once you get into camp. We think it's still the possible happens all the time but then it becomes a little bit more of a okay really better happened now..

"Arnold i g. She's what a beaten him in that game. I also think if they'd won that game. Bob sutton is still defensive coordinator and they would not have overhauled that defense. You probably wouldn't have tyron matthew. You probably would have kept before who has been a shelve himself. Set season like i think. There's a good chance it's achieves team will help a lot. Different frank clark's now right like who knows how different it looks. I actually think in a weird way. D- ford being offsides is the best thing that happened to them even though it costs them that too in a day. It's obviously at least cost the appearance you know. We can argue whether they would have won the game. I think the best happened in a it was at because it forced them to below that thing up defensively in gets back nola and sign tyron matthew and let d forego in a trade ins netting pick that got them want thornhill so i i know. That's a weird way of looking at it but i actually think in the long haul. They were better off. Because i think if they win that super bowl you're probably paying for. You're not firing. Bob sutton i defend wasn't go but you're not firing according to just won a super bowl. I really think this team in the long run with better off. Even though roy painful in the moment you know that's fascinating. I hadn't really considered that. I don't like to try to spend a lot of time thinking about the game or what would have happened if they you know most people. It's oh yeah. He doesn't jump off sides that she's going to the super bowl and they really have a good chance of probably winning it and now you bring that up looking back and i think you're right man lake. Maybe maybe it never happens. They the defense stinks. Maybe they have the year that they did win the super bowl. They have a down year. Because it's like oh yeah. This defense isn't good by the way they don't make the aggressive moves that they had like an and in you. You could even look at last year's super bowl loss if things work out this year and this offensive line is good as we think it can be. And the offense is unstoppable. Was we think it could be with mahomes. All the time in the run game improving and they win like two of the next three super bowls or something crazy like that. It might be a blessing in disguise that they got their butts by tampa bay. Yeah oh no question. And i record on this podcast and i think it. I think this is gonna be.

"Fox sports Radio Back? E don't know what song this is, but it's better in that garbage halftime show from the day off or whatever his name is. What's that guy's name? Day off till the weekend. Here's the thing about the weekend. That's kind of funny. Is he so many people have asked me. I disagree. So many people have asked me though. They're like, Why is he called the weekend? It was just one guy. It sounds more plural, which I don't I don't know that I've ever heard the name and thought like, Oh, that's like a group. I guess it kind of feels that way. Like Yeah. If you're gonna call anything like thus something like you think it's more of a group. I guess right? Yeah, I don't know. But I just s o. I remember hearing him back in 2000 and 70,008. It was like he was more like not everyone says like people are, like sellouts or mainstream. Whatever. 1007 2008, what does he like? 20. Like I'm just telling you guys in the locker room used to listen to him. And we started like Who is that? And they would say the weekend we were like, What is that? Is that a group like Is that a perfect palaces, persons? This guy? Back way back when he used to have stuff that we get out and guys used to listen to and talk about it. But he never went mainstream like another 45 years before you started to hear about him in a more like a legitimate fashion, But he's been on the scene for a while, like them much longer than most realize now, I heard there are reports and I can confirm that after Sunday night, he is going to refer to himself as the bad halftime show. No, no longer the weekend. It's the bad halftime show. I can't say. I did hear some criticism that the work wasn't enough like hip gyrations or there were more dance moves. I have a tradition. My tradition is I never watched the halftime show that that's what I'm because you got enough time to go running. They earn or do what you need to do. I don't even watch it. So I don't even know I just like, Look, this is what I like to do. But I like to criticize every single bumper song that comes back. I don't like to piss people off. That's what I do. Brady Quinn. That's my tradition. And that's what I do here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, I would like to veto something. Listen, listen, I deserve that applies. All right. I deserve that applies, And here's the other thing. I would like to veto something that Brady Quinn wanted to get into. He wanted to talk about these penalty complaints. This segment. I refused to do it. I'm teasing ahead to next segment. I will get into that 10 minutes from now because there's some conspiracy theories about those penalties out there. They're already Quinn. You know what I want to do? Live here from the farmers Insurance, Fox Sports Radio Studios call 1888 farmers and you could save a whole lot of something on auto insurance. I want to get into the real conversation. Tom Brady vs Tyron Matthew, What do you think of that? Let me say this to you know, Tom Brady is one of the best trash talkers in the NFL. He's great. Didn't know Did you know that That's his reputation amongst players Now? Does he curse is here's seen Philip. Oh, yeah, I remember when I came in as a rookie and one of my best friends in this whole world. Also got drafted and he said to me after you played the Patriots heroes, Man, you will never believe this. He's like you should hear how much Tom Brady talks trash. I was like what He's like, Yeah, He's like he will. Literally as you're walking by, make some snide comment or talk, trashed you under his breath, and you're kind of like, Look around Help you kind of just give this look and then look the other way. He's like he will say the most demeaning stuff to you. About not knowing who you are or used together, language and kind of talking down. He's like he's the low key one of the best trash doctors in the NFL. I was floored by that, but That's been his reputation for a long time. Well, it zit was the same thing with Larry Bird like they guys would say no, no, no, You don't understand. Like Larry Bird is the biggest trash talker of them. All. Everyone just don't know, man. He's a humble guy just works hard once. No, no, no, no. He's when he walked into the locker room and the three point shoot out. He walked in all those guys were sitting in the locker room at all Star weekend and he walks in and he goes. So which one of you's finishing second, and that was the three point shootout where He shot the money bomb, put his finger up in the air and walked off and did it in his warmups wasn't even his jersey was in his warm ups. Yeah, it's the same thing. He a brilliant trash talker. Did you see though the sequence of how this all happened, though, with Tyrone Matthew Okay, That's what I That's what I wanted to ask because he got the penalty and I thought, Man, that's I thought Tom Brady ran up to him. But it was actually Matthew, who went up to Tom Brady. And I think that was their second interaction because the rush when they were going at it a little bit as well to. Well, there's a second one and really kind of all stem threw the interception. That wasn't it will give, you know and into that at the top of the next hour, but Get to your point. He was frustrated with the holding call. There's some words sent at that point time, but there was something that was said earlier in the game, and Brady was you could see him if you could read his lips saying, Like I'm gonna come after you. I think once they got down in the red Zone, the Antonio Brown touchdown that was literally like an isolated place where he's running a little, you know, pivot route, but it's like a pivot return. We came back inside and left Matthew in the dust. And that was where embraced Art Deco After Matthew and kind of say, I told you Which is awesome. He's 43 things that they're chasing down guys to be like, how about them apples? It's unbelievable, dude. I mean, I'm here for Every every single time they do it. I absolutely love the fact he's a 43 year old guys. They got that kind of competitive spirit to still talk that much trashed the younger players. Here's Here's the other. I remember thinking this is the time remember the image of they lost. He was in New England. They lost that Seattle in the regular season, and Richard Sherman ran up to him after the game was running his mouth and there was a bad, bro..

"Over six with one interception. CA Mera. The handoff cuts it back to the right now slashes left with 42. The 41 yard line. Nice run of seven yards. Be second down in three and they need to establish this running game here. Daniel Sorenson. This in on the stop for Kansas City and Chad. This is a defense. It wasn't exactly playing lights out for Kansas City coming into this know it all, but they've got 43 announcing the interception. Um, I got to be impressed with the thing that able to pull off outlets seven year old one by Camaro was the longest play since you've had all day, reads the throne. He completes his first two Camaro near side and he's got the first down, taking it up past the 40. The 45 yard line. Sorenson on the stop him Drew Brees first completion with 12 16 to go in the first half of the state's 1st 1st down as well. Maybe they can get something going here, and that's the thing. I mean, you down 14. Nothing. But you've got an offense that if they get in a rhythm here, maybe put something together. Tasting hills in the lineup was a wide receiver set out near side right running back the TVs, Murray and now he was going to come in motion. Far side left play action. Fake police is gonna throw the hill jungles it can hold on to the football. It's an incomplete pass. It'll be second down. Well defended by Kansas City that's luxurious need is it's making a Pro Bowl statement in this game has got an interception of sack and he was right there on that play the second attempt Taysom Hill. It's so interesting for guy who's used to handling the ball every play as a quarterback. Certainly has very poor ball security for a number 10 times this year, I was kind of surprised. We come to this game with that staff, 2nd and 10 cents 46 Yard line. They move left a riot all in black Today, with gold numerals and gold helmets Go snapping breeze has All right. Nobody there, swings it out on the left that balls juggled and incomplete, trying to hit Murray on the flap of that again while defense by Kansas City that was passing yo number 92 Tunnel passing Yo with your Prada, Villanova in the coverage there. So now third down, coming up in Long and 13 10 for New Orleans, there was not a sense Receiver who had a yard of separation from a cheese defender. Excellent, excellent job by the linebackers in secondary for the chief on now, third down and 10 quick snap breeze has time airs it out, Got a receiver there at the 15. It's caught inside the five and Emmanuel Sanders with a big catch. He had two strides on the defender. And the Saints are in business. First down and goal at the three yard line. Tyron Matthew beaten on the play, They caught the cheese defense. Just not ready for that quick snap. They were definitely organized. Guys weren't lined up. They were still in the process of communicating Drew Brees with the quick snapping and accurate ball down the sideline. Emmanuel Sanders, former Bronco No, you told me. All right, First down and goal Saints trailing 14. Nothing. Well, Kat Miller quarterback. He's in their hands on keeps it himself sweeping the right side needs to break a tackle on does. That's where the pylon Did he get it in the end zone, looking for a call the officials not going to give him a touchdown Markham inside the one yard line. You can't believe it. He thought he scored. Yeah, we're gonna take a look at the replay here. The second down and goal was able to stay in bounds reporting his number 74. I'm with taste of him on that he did. Get that pile on with his left foot. John Peyton's challenges. Yeah, I'm with Sean Payton, too. You threw that flag from the 15th about their goal line there Red flag. Showing his arms today. So Scott Novak, our referee talking with Sean Payton. I think that could reach Charles looks very challenging this week. Did you score challenging the ruling on the place running short of the goal? I'm not so as they take a look at this way will pause. 10 24 to go in the first half. Kansas City 14. New Orleans. Nothing more action from the field up next. You're listening. The compass speed networks. This is the NFL so serious. Spilled your drink Quick..
