If mike williams who's in the final year of his rookie deal if he has some issues. Josh palmer doesn't have a whole lot of like capital competition there now. They guys last year in jalen guyton and tyron johnson came out and made a splash. But you look at that wide receiver depth chart if mike williams goes down. There's not a whole lot there so you got tyron. Johnson and jalen guyton. Joe read k. J. hill josh palmer is going to have an opportunity to go in there and make an impact and he's got justin herbert throwing him the football so if mike williams has some issues. There's somebody i'm going to be very interested in as well and when it comes to brown with washington fixed ula fits is going to go out there. And he's going to throw the ball down the field. Unfortunately you know you have mclaren. You have curtis samuel. The question is can diane brown come in there and beat out kelvin harmon and antonio gandhi golden for snaps and. That's something that remains to be seen but there is certainly an opportunity for him to be one of their top three receivers by any point midway through season authority. Months is not as bad as the rotator cuff right like so the labor can be fixed and then you know at some point. Let's get caught up here on all the moves that the raiders have made from pretty much the end of february. Because it's going to start there with how this figures out with their salary cap. They just traded trent brown as everybody knows. So with trent brown. Now going back to the patriots and the patriots. Giving the raiders a fifth round. Pick the raiders. Also gave up a seventh round. Twenty twenty two pick to the patriots that means that they freed up about fourteen million dollars cap space now with the moves earlier in the month when they got rid of tyrel williams and then also richie incognito lamarcus joyner. Those are names. That put the raiders under a little bit more right now. They're looking at a number of about one hundred and eighty million. That could change though. We're still waiting to hear when that may happen and how much more room they could get. But right now. I went over to spot track Shaken bacon that the raiders could do with other players. of course. we've all heard by now. That gave jackson is probably going to be released from the raiders. But that has not made been made official yet but at this point. All i've heard is that gave jackson is likely to be released as well That would free up some more. Money for the raiders. So that the raiders. Also move on from gave jackson marcus mariota. They could be under the cab by about forty five million or so By the time everything shakes out so that is going to free up some money to sign him other names. Maybe they look at the defensive back market. Maybe they bring back. Richie incognito was well a lower price than what they had him on a for acts. So that's been talked about as well but there is still some maneuvers. Made by the raiders. But i wanted to get everybody here. Caught up on how much space the raiders will have a just a cap right now projected at about one ninety two. That would be about thirty six million dollars worth of cap space and again if the market's mariota's mood on that's ten point seven million so that would free up more room so as we continue to look here. Who have mill predates you guys. Thank you what this offseason has. Been kind of interesting for you. I've seen on twitter that you got to go back home. You did some things with high school. That's where you're from and louisiana originally so what was it like for you to get back to the roots and go visit the school and some of the students is. They're coming out a process or you know just not really walking away from the game kinda getting my mind off football kinda giving back in you know given the other kids knowledge and so would expect to you know if they wanted to get to the next level and also the process against that makes level on. You know greek guy. You know trying to earn his hobby out to me. He started a seven hundred. But we never really had that in area and that's what started me. That's what got me on readout to going to college. So far seven seventeen so going back and being able to show my face in in home by the and talk to the young kids that was. That was a great opportunity. So being that you're now coming off your first year here in the nfl. We just recently heard general manager. Mike mayock talk about the process what it was like for the rookies twenty twenty coming in adjusting with covert and everything else off. Season wasn't what it normally would be. So what was it like for you. Because he particularly addressed this and something i want to get to is that. He said it was really hard for you to try to convert from the outside to playing nickel and swith covert and everything else hanging over this season. What was the process like for you as a rookie and learning when there was no offseason technology sales so for me you know like you saved. Fold plan going from being been in college to play outside going to leave in london. Everything about the inside for his feats of passage transit was a lot of stuff grunt gaps. It was a lot of stuff that i had to learn. not having. ot as you know. I didn't wanna put you know making as it is for myself. But i can tell that you know not having in because cold it kinda. Give us the back you know on out. I'm honestly glad everything you know. So oh come into practice every day you know i just. I just treated prizes. Like i was in the game. You i got each and every day so it's a at each and every day by making mistakes mistakes of short after years of progress on that no care if i can hop in. I just want to ask if you had to. Give yourself a letter grade for your rookie year. What grade would you give yourself on myself else. You know i will get my own. I was d. You know. Because i would see a d. because i didn't perform the way they Splinter in ice pegged myself to. You know. Because i was kind of hard on myself but i gotta get my little credit. I came in came in every day. Might tell you know. And i kinda saw and a team that defense on a progression you know as the season went on so far as you know because i was i was supposed to be a guy. Come in and play because i love the game of football. They begging you to play early but unfortunately didn't have the bill on former from out for your own to if there's something that you you took away from this rookie or what would that be. What did you learn about your first year in the nfl that you learned that you weren't expecting you know prepared for in the big leagues. Some goes guten. When when i i think i'd take someone day about the number twenty one years and the first thing they told me you cannot rush. Greece is his process. Somebody's going to be some days. Wanna be best going to be good but each and every day you you try to get better and you try to reach out to. The older guys decided to learn some things. Because you come in and as as young may everything. He's not you know. So what i did was not like i just came to work every day and try to learn from from the From the older guys you the authorities are so you said you gave yourself a d. Because he put in the effort and we know that this is a very young defense. A lot of guys Not a lot of veterans on the team in fact with respect to the defensive players. Where do you think that this team could really get the biggest help on defense coming into two thousand twenty one. Oh there's something. I don't really know yet here of all i can say also on the back in you only can control. We can't control that we can control. This is making the ball given the also and derek call back the ball in demand position to win. You know so. That's all his own as of now. You know that's that's not. I could see that can help us next season. There is some talk last year. Utah shaima derek. Goddard had right around forty yards and no touchdowns in every game. Forty three thirty nine. Thirty eight yards the texans released. Jj watt the yeah. The pouncey twins retired they twins. Okay the patsy brothers twins retired florida. They were so good they were triplets. There you go Trevor lawrence is going to have left shoulder surgery and he's gonna be out four to five months so he's going to have a different off-season than other rookies chris. Does that bother you with trevor lawrence. I mean it's not as throwing shoulder but just the lack of offseason work and we saw just killed everybody this past off season right but anyway does this shoulder surgery bother you when you look at lawrence. And the jaguars passing game. I think that kind of thing would probably be more of an issue. This year when defenses. Have their normal off-season offense won't have such a An edge early on in the season like they did this year. But you know we'll see what that means doesn't mean he's not throwing all until training camp or does he get some work in but i'm not too concerned right now right. Who could be cut while.
