"Your fingertips with the pr and mobile app. Download today available in the apple app store and on google play. It was like the good old days at the bristol motor speedway saturday night with drivers fighting mad on pit road. After the checkered flag fell as the opening round of the cup series playoff ended with fireworks between chase elliott and kevin harvick. It cost both a chance to go to victory lane the to climb from their cars to confront each other immediately. I couldn't hear him. He had his helmet on and stuff. But you know. I'm twenty five at least take my helmet off to have a conversation with him and he's forty years old so nothing. New elliott also said it was nothing new harvick did a maneuver that forced him into an unscheduled pit. Stop as they battled for the lead. He gets tired of racing with you. You know he runs on your left side and sometimes it cuts down. That's a move that he pulls often now whether he did it then on purpose or not doesn't matter it's happened enough to me against him. That enough was enough. And i'm not gonna put up with it anymore. Certainly may off with harvick. Trying to hold off teammate. Kyle larson elliott. Came back onto the track aiming to make sure harvick didn't win. I just told him it was chicken what he did. I mean the guy hangs on my right roof indoor every week and we're racing for the lead at bristol and you throw a temper tantrum like that. God dang i wanna rip. Somebody's head off right now. Harvick would eventually wind up the runner up to larson who grabbed his first ever cup win at bristol. Real stay close to kevin and chase was obviously upset with the contact and was just making things kind of tough on him and it kept me in the game and you're able to make some moves on their late so yeah fundraiser have always wanted to win here. So qualifying finally do it. Finishing third william byron fought his way from below the cutoff. Line to making the round of twelve beating out eric. Merola and tyler rettig by only two points kurt. Busch missed the cut. By six and michael mcdowell by forty nine. Hi this is doug rice when the pr in crew visits las vegas we stay at the south point hotel and casino bright now. They're giving away a five thousand dollar. Vip race package for the spring of twenty twenty. Two las vegas nascar weekend. It or at south point four hundred dot com and you know there.

"There are fourteen drivers tyler. Rettig basically his racing. He's got to be you know keeping these guys out of victory lane if nothing else. He can't allow them to win that race because automatically he's he just got himself kicked out so him riding around and trying to be smart is not something he can do. But he's gotta make sure when we come down to that white flag that he is in that pack going for the ease of the wind or the blot to keep somebody else from winning are. Let's go around the horn alexis winter and at that winter is not if that winters new obviously then that means we've got another person in the playoffs. Who do you like. And austin dillon. I said before. I think he has got something to prove after michigan I think you know the tensions are probably pretty strong in the cr shop of the past few weeks. And he you know him and tyler rennick both feel like they have something to prove not only Within the nascar grabs but within their own company garage stall. So i'm picking often dylan. Jeff hammond. i'm gonna go what i said earlier. I think it could be william byron. I think william would like to go back to back. I know rudy fuego would like to be able to get a win at daytona. So i look for these guys to be strong as well as the rest of the hendrick motorsports. But i like william byron willy. Be all right brad. Gillan i will take a first time for two thousand twenty one winner but it's going to be denny hamlin. I think he's the one that grabs the trophy on saturday night. You sounded like you were selecting a jeopardy category. There were five hundred all right. So that that's our picks. I wanna use the last minute of this show to say some. That's kind of laying on my heart. So i'm going to get rid of it here There's a lot of news out there and some of it's really disturbing and we've all watched the events unfold recently afghanistan and i just want to say this to all of the men and women who served their thank you for your service. We appreciate it. Whatever unfolded that's not on you. So thank you again for representing this country and our flag and doing the very very best that you could have had a chance over my career to meet a lot of people who did multiple terms there. We appreciate you and your loved by. At least me and i think most of the race fans in this country feel about same ways. Thanks a lot everybody stays safe out there. Okay and we'll be back next monday breaking down all the mayhem from daytona..

"With them. We see austin dillon. We see tyler rettig. We see eric jones. We see so many of these teams that are chevy based teams that are having great runs and having solid daniel schorr and track house race. And you see these guys. They're having just solid. And that's the chevy camp so you know we talk hendrick but it's chevy at the same time and again here. We see in some shots of race. Like i think that gives there especially with kyle recently but to your point it feels to me is if until you have somebody besides kyle busch winning and crystal real chris. Sale finishing second is impressive. But until you have somebody winning regularly it is still a hundred discussion. Look if we if we just sat down and look at if you just sit down over the last the last six races six or seven races and just look at stats of laps led how many times their cars have finished in the top five. How many times records finished in the top ten. How many laps they've led. How many quality passes you can go through all those stats. Okay but if you put them over here this is the table is going to cave in under the hendrick weight of what they done and this side's not over under everybody else nobody's been able to penetrate that on a consistent basis and that that for me is the big telltale side is they just do it week and week out and nobody even though you get to reveal that slides in there and run second even though you get around blaney or you get somebody will pop up in there. Oh yeah but third. Is we embarrassing. But fourth is whatever it may be. So they're still there. Those four drivers are capable win each and every way yet at hendrick motorsports right now no question. of course. A lot of discussion Let's talk to an expanding series driver. I think we've got austin syndrome. Both races at road america hill. Join us when we come back after the break here on nascar. American motor mounts..

"The playoff hunt as we're counting down the weeks sixteen races in we got that means ten races to go before the regular season comes to an end at twenty six. A you look at other organizations. I think you know. I think a lot of people are surprised. First of all that michael mcdowell is still hanging in the top sixteen. I mean as soon as he wanted daytona people are going. How how far does he. What does he have to stay in to make the playoffs. still thirty. that'd be. He's having the season of his life. He really is and i think it's exactly what you said. I think getting at win. What winning the daytona five hundred did for. That team is one of those unspoken things and it it has really propelled them for this year. In in you know we talk about teams that that were surprised. Have not one yet. And i think think certainly richard childress racing. I would expect them to challenge or lease to get a win before this up before the playoffs began. And also get asi. I'm kurt busch in ross chastain. Another couple drivers that. I would take matt venedetto. You know he. Is there anyone that wants to win more. So these are some people that i'm really looking at that. I would expect score that win. In congratulations to michael mcdowell. You know he's showing. This wasn't just some crazy fluky thing. He's he's hanging in there with the big boys. Yeah he really is Holly mentioned the richard childress racing guys. And you and i were talking during the break. Read tyler rettig has been red hot. i mean. He was hanging around twentieth twenty-first standing just a few weeks ago. Sit there thirteenth right now. He's been really on a roll. And i think it's kinda gone really very quietly. Well that's absolutely right. They've had speed in their cars though. I mean you saw that last year after the after the return from the pandemic they were quick. And i think that you know now that you've had have the combined engine program between hendrick engines. C are that it's benefitted not only hendrick motorsports but other chevrolet teams as well and i think reading is going is probably going to win a race. I would pick him as the most likely race winner so far this year. Who hasn't won one yet and that includes any hamlin and kevin harvick. Wow interesting You know it's interesting. Perception is interesting. Holly when you look at it you got two guys next each other. In the standings the perception is one is having an unbelievable season and the other one is disappointing bubble. Wallace twenty-first daniels wars twenty-second both of them and brand new cars. And yet i think that the perception because of the bubba michael jordan relationship twenty one twenty. Three eleven team and everything. That was all the hype that was going into that people expected. Bubbas is going to be great. Need above us in our goal is to win a couple of races this year. Yeah daynuss wars brand new team. The track house racing team it only. Yeah pit bull comes on. Late is a is a partner that team. He's running twenty-second but every time. He has a great run. It's like wow. They're doing fantastic and it's like the preseason perception is interesting how these guys are running almost identical in the season seven mediocre season. That's a really good point. You know i. I saw baba just before the all star race on pit road. And you know he. He seem ready to go. See pompton everything and then they had you know. It didn't turn out as well as he. He obviously would like it. But i think you bring up a good point both of these essentially will they are brand new teams and our expectations for them. And i often. I believe that neither of them daniel or bubba gets the respect. They deserve in terms of how competitive they are. I mean it is a hard thing to win with a team. That has just come together. Everything is new. It's not that they aren't driving. Well enough. I think it's a combination of everything and you keep waiting for to click. But that's a very good point. People keep talking about how daniel is doing so well and you know. I think both of them deserve a little bit of a break in terms of what they're having to do. It's not an easy situation at all. However they expectations remain high for both of them. Both internally i'm sure as as well as the fans and everyone else expect how do you see re i think part of it is that that you see things on comparative level and it's relative because last year Daniel was running around in the back had no speed at all and this year he shown promise. And that team has shown promise You know. I think they're certainly better funded on the other hand. Bubba is running in points and in races about where he ran with richard. Petty motorsports last year In that same general ballpark. So you see him as not having improved and you see daniels having improved a lot simply because of the relative positions versus last year. Two guys real quickly hal. That really surprised when when you look. They're standing in the points. Ryan newman sit in twenty-third. Right now is at an extremely disappointing year. And we of course i hate to kick him. While he's down eric. Merola i mean this poor guy. He needs to get on a different side of bad. He needs to put his shoes on a different order. Something that something's gotta change for that guy. He cannot get out of his own way. At this point we'll keep in mind is from tampa and it took a while for For the tampa sports seemed to get really super great so we have a being there from there as well. We have a little bit of history of things of supposed bad luck but air you know. I thought he ran very well in the all star race in at least in the open and i think you know it's not a question of whether he can do it. I think it's just putting it all together and you're right. I mean it's almost amazing. The different things that have come up that have kind of warranted. Whatever good day he should have had. But i think he's another person that you could look at as a real reasonable expectation to win. Possibly if they can get things going. And you know he can get the right horseshoe than i. I really think he could i. It's been a horribly for him. I i feel really bad for him. Go ahead give us a goal. Lightning go lightning. I i think it's it's it's an organizational problem as much as anything else i mean when you're riding around in the middle of the pack your in more jeopardy than you are when you're running up front and i think there have been two races this year. Where all four stewart. Haas cars have failed to finish on the lead lap. So you know that being the case I think it's a systemic problem that they're trying to work out right now trying to As we said recover some of the gains that they had last year..

"Is there any doubt with three second place finishes in a row then back to back wins at charlotte and sonoma's kyle. Larson is the hottest driver in nascar with three victories. This year. Larsen is only one checkered flag away already. From tying his best season ever two thousand seventeen when he won four times for chip ganassi. Feel like we could go to any race. Track be good. There is still times. I think until seventeen were. Yeah we wanna law ran up front but there is still racist. We were dis- average but seems like this year we've been strong every race track. Definitely feel like. I'm a better driver than i was in two thousand seventeen but you are team is is also extremely good right now so for sure. I think all of us on the five car in in everybody sports that matters is copying right now. Hendrick motorsports has now won seven of the opening. Sixteen cup races all four. Final Lap Weekly Fantasy Update

"Rowdy dragging here back again with this week's final weekly fantasy update the daytona road course. What an awesome race. The finish really mixed things up. I think these road courses are really gonna flip the fantasy upside down this year. So let's move onto the stage winners. We have first and second stage sweep done by. Who's good job. loosen the win. Who's looks like he felt a little short term. Gators three took that with two hundred and forty two points. Now the final weekly had two hundred and seventy two players to start the season it bumped up to three hundred and forty three players so a whole bunch of people had joined us. But now we're back down to two hundred sixteen players so i'm thinking there was a consolidation period where nascar just dumped. Everyone who had goose eggs for the first brace the second race or both races and Either that or toby was pushing some buttons and deleted everybody in any event if you have played with us before all you have to log back in and make your picks in. You're good to go however you're going to have to join the league now. Okay so moving right along. Let's take a look at homestead miami speedway. I got three drivers free to take a look at starting with the number. Five kyle larson. It is time for him to show what he can do in the five car. He did not race year last year and two years ago he blew motor up here so it is important for him to shine in the five car this weekend in show what it is. He has for that hendra team and another guy to look at. Is the number eight tyler. Rettig he had a good first race here last year he got a fourth place finish and he scored a segment points in both segments. Were dirt track. Racers excel especially the rim writers. Tyler riddick and kyle larson both loved to ride the rim and the last guy will take a look at the number eleven car denny hamlin. He's superb at this track. He's got three wins here. Last year. he racked up stage points in both segments as well some looking for denny to have a good day on

"Yeah, it was fun to see and he's he's done that. We talked about that earlier. How since we come back from your comeback to racing? Bubble has been running his best that he's run and under all this pressure, so It was great to see the. The rejection of hate by the drivers in by team members I thought that was awesome, led to an incredible race team Emma those guys. I mean they they decide. They're gonNA work. ARE THEY GONNA? Do whatever it takes. They line up they. They just showed incredible speed I. Think by far. They had the fastest cars on racetrack. In in obviously riding winning the race, but but the speed the pence showed I thought was incredible a Ryan extremely patients that back. There saved his fuel then that that last lap. I mean good. Lord I didn't know who will race. It was so close. Record across start finish line I. Acknowledge that back that they came with that was incredible. created really good racing. From town, they dropped the green flag racing and it was just a lot of fun to watch yeah. I felt like the this organization showed a lot of control in the race in Stage one stage two, but if you, if we pay attention to who won those stages Tyler rettig. He drives up there and win. Stage one, we know. He came into this race seventeenth in points. We talked about it on the show in the past of how he's one of the guys we think might be able to sneak into this playoff if he doesn't. Even he might win a race and not have to sneak into it, but getting those points a stage points are critical to that guy. Moving forward so an incredible moment for him in the race, and also in Stage two. There was. There was more piscotty control they get toward the front of the feel, control the race front, but then you had a late charge from stenhouse, working with Kyle Busch, and instead house wildly crosses the finish line, and gets the stage win, and takes even more critical playoff points from that penske organization. didn't stage three everything got so shook up with strategy, a lot of teams such different strategies and everybody needed to save. Nobody wanted to leave the race because nobody can make an own fuel, so that really took the race out of the hands of the Pissy cars. But that speed you mentioned Jeff. That's what prevail in in my mind at the end. That final restart. That was great organization on the outside with Harvick Butcher, and I felt like that bang. They've won the race with this perfect start is great organization on the outside line. They have won this race. But that twelve car, it's just too fast. And he had aggression of stenhouse pushing him to victory. That combination just couldn't be and Yeah, it was wild to see him coming across line every which way up sideways bones thing we were missing with somebody upside down the race coming across that finish line you have. Line shot at errol backwards. He was like back in the state of the finish line, so you mentioned Ryan Blade guys listen if you're going to within the play track, you have to be anyone in rivaling those of the to go back to Tattoo last year. WHO's in the picture? The eleven twelve go back to the Daytona five hundred this year. WHO's in the picture? The Eleven and twelve Italian this year I thought the.

Tyler Reddick on his impressive debut at Darlington

"Welcome to another edition of Nascar America at home at home for three of us at the race track for one of US have myself Steve. Jeff Burton Dale and the driver of the number eight. Catch Chevy for our CR tyler. Rettig straight off of what seventh-place good rundown demand by last lap. Air Jones had a problem there and was right on my tail and he was about to get that position from me but had to fight hard those last few laps and was able to close it out with some place. Finish dollar your fast all day long. And you know what? What was it about your car? Were you surprised at how good it was? And where do you think you were the strongest? And how are you able to get you know? Drive yourself up through the field. You had to pass a lot of cars all day long. Yeah I made a few mistakes on the first start and really didn't pass anybody and then after the second start that we had there I I really didn't get going at all. I was probably further back than what I started. And then all of a sudden I just start rolling the top one into pretty good runs close to the fence before it really got rub it in and we hope to make a lot of time up there but Yeah it was a tough day. I mean we just finally got tradition in the top five caught. Peace that Louis New Banner and We tried to fix that and get that off the car we had a control. Tyre and all the way back to twenty three. Start of the day add. Add to come to the front again or try to Best we got with seven so tyler junior. Now we're talking during the race about your line you and how you just mentioned it. Run highlight and wanted to a lot of people. Run the high line in the middle of the. You're running it on the exit until you actually use a lot of racetrack up kind of no man's land if if you got two or three inches too far out you're gonNA hit the wall. How are you so confident to run up there at such a young age? Well Great Valentine's in the simulator? We tire out of the tires. It Brad Miller of it actually didn't slow the car down that much and it actually felt really really good. I was really surprised that even worked in the simulator and obviously we all know de Hamlin makes a credible amount of time even more inexpensive expanding cars than than a cup car but with today star fall off that we saw that line came into play really early and I was almost scared like what Danny likes joke about is. I don't want to use it too much and show my hand but it was so Dang fast at times that it was it was it was hard not to run in it but we definitely for sure about halfway through the race made a few wrong adjustments and it allowed everybody else to catch up to us but I mean I got braces Darlington race. That long it's going to change more than I've ever experienced there an xfinity car so that was. It was definitely a challenge today.

"Allow allow him to go after mattie benedetta it to have a car that you could make time the bottom and the top team used the middle there at one point. We have a race go like that and not abused not abuse. The tires was great mood and rate here. This is probably what cost the race trying to laugh ryan newman which it just passing ryan newman's never easy thing ryan newman's fight for leave lab and his playoff live just that little bit of damage there from the ninth they're getting from the six on cds kerr made his car very tight as danny clear second-place there. It's his race chase matt d. down it. Look daddy was running right there at the bottom of the race track so disappointed voice far enough back. I'm not sure the ninety five sees it. I'm not sure that ninety five spotters sees it things. You learn over time. I don't think maddie had any idea the eleven was that he actually he moved up to take the lane away sounds. I just just with denny hamlin needs goes the bottom passes. The ninety five drives off so just for everybody watching did the fastest car in bristol sits on the poll gets in a wreck has a loose wheel gets a wave around gets a free pass restarts about eight the windsor as i mean it's a normal five five hundred. I mean if you just look at the results okay. Danny started. I saw i he must dominate an easy night but yeah that's what bristol's all about but we talk about when you have issues like that yet. It's tough to stay calm but when you have a fast race car like denny hamlin did and that eleven team knew they had it makes it just a little bit easier right a._j. Struggling then then that pressure starts getting a little amped up. You're on edge but it's like all right. We need to get back in the lab and once we do we can still go win this race yeah fast race car and a good race driver behind the wheel. That has a lot more maturity now can give you a lot of options to do things they did all the right things making the repairs to the car incoming back in making sure that all the lug nuts on that they needed to go win this race and i'm not gonna take anything away from him but a little lucky lucky. We're always asked asked what guys will come it up. It's time for shoutouts right after the break. Thank you all for showing up. I just wanna say let's go big orange ball out here doing it for you. "Is America's trucking network with run the way with day. All yeah. That's me, an RV. John man, judge une-. She's on the replay there in FOX, if she just had a good opening monologue backing Donald Trump. So you need to get some more info and some new material. That'd be good place to do it. Hopefully, maybe DVR did or whatever. But hey let's get back to the phones. I've got deady Bopper coming to hold onto the Boppard. Let me talk to Tyler he's been hold on longtime Tyler you wanted to respond to something. But the American Eagle is talking about. Yeah. I say pre brother. Yeah. And I mean great points on all, but one thing he mentioned, in particular that stood out the tax and accounting, the about usually three to four hundred individual tax returns per year. Probably around. I'm gonna get eighty two hundred small business returns and a picture, the it's sort of, like if you're in a classroom, everyone types attached. You get an A on that test. And well, the professor says, I'm going to lower your great just see because Johnny in the back made a D. And we can't have that. So everybody has to be on the same. I mean, the more you do the more the better you do. And I'm going to guess American Eagle has probably higher tax brackets, because it doesn't take huge amount of income to get there. I mean if somebody is single and they make I'm rounding here, but about thirty nine thousand or higher. That portion of income that they make about thirty nine thousand is taxed at twenty two percent and of course some higher, and that's just the federal and I mean you see small business owners shit. I mean they get hit with federal I mean they get hit with. I mean because for every employee, they pay social security Medicare taxes that, that hasn't with help from their checks. They have to pay that exact same amount. So there's a I mean amounts there, then you have federal unemployment stayed on employment. I mean some I mean, depending on the profession, I mean sales taxes and I mean it's all just I mean I mean local. I mean the city I'm in Ashley get two percent payroll fat. I mean all just just how. And I mean, the more successful you are the more. I mean the more you get hit. Well, hey, what what do you think? Tyler did you hear the latest story about the communists that runs the New York City that the Blasios now he wants to run a United States? He's out there trying to shake down small businesses. He wants everybody to pay all their employees, regardless of their part time or full time or whatever, give vacation time, they've served this and deserve that. I mean what do you think about that? Comrade out there ordering small businesses. A lot of business can't afford to do a lot of that. Oh my gosh. I have not heard at this point. But I mean the small businesses. I mean a lot of them right now we're getting kit. I mean, they're just getting over that. I mean, the teeth of ObamaCare that sunk in. I mean. That's right. That really hurt small businesses no doubt about that. Of course, the media won't portray that, but I can pay for fact. I mean they talk about all the time, the democrat politicians over there in Columbus Ohio, they're raising taxes sky high. Then they get their little special groups that have shaken down people that's going to get tickets for a bunch of different events and a new seven percent tax to fund their group. Of course, I think they're like nonprofit where they pay themselves. You know multiple one hundred thousand dollar big salaries and stuff. Call himself nonprofits or whatever, but they get all that money, right? Back into funding take care of them. But I mean yeah, the so the democratic politicians they have a way to taxes, span taxes span, and it's always the hard work in middle class, type people. Yes. And. Especially and the thing with Kentucky that I mean, we're I'll live. A week. There's a cap on sales tax. We're not going to see many communities and active. I mean how high on the other hand I mean. I know I think Cincinnati I haven't seen. I think Cincinnati was two point one or two point five percent on the payroll. I believe, and I mean, and of course Columbus. I mean, a lot of these bigger cities. I mean, many of which are democrat, Ron. It's getting harder and harder to with just all the taxes that are hitting it. I mean, small business owners. I mean they're just kidding. Right at right now. I mean, I've Meyer anybody who would step in. Not like run a small business. Well, I in, in somebody and of course, I think that some of the Democrats squawk about it the big wealthy millionaires are always campaign donors to the Democrats, sometimes put Republicans, too. But seemed like they get all the tax breaks the corporate welfare, but you very seldom ever see any real small businesses get the tax breaks. They used to get in the past. Right. And I mean I mean wealthy. I mean, we're hacked, I think back in the nineteen forty I mean they were taxed as high as one night in percents. I mean, once their income reached a certain level, that number. Yeah. Well, that's, that's probably why they shipped all their money overseas, as little tiny islands stuff like add tax havens as they call it so nuts. Very insightful. What you're saying. Well, that's why you know, Donald Trump actually said he wants to do some more tax relief in make it strictly aimed at the hard work and middle class. But course Pelosi and her crowd, they're congress. They got no stomach for that, because they need more and more money, and they wanna ship all that money, the sanctuary cities. Well, I don't know. There's stories you could probably look it up online, the communist governor out there in California, now wants to call it a vacation state for anybody who wants to kill babies come on out there, and they're gonna hook me up. And, you know, you give you get all the eagles could get free healthcare and bright free vacations. And you got another guy running for president deserve as you get a thousand dollars cash stuck in their pocket and they could go out and buy some more drugs or party or whatever the hell they want to use it. So I mean these Democrats are all about spending everybody else's money except their own. Yes. And I mean it. I mean and Trump's tax plan his original plan. I believe I think if I remember right. It was ten fifteen and twenty five percent with the four tax brackets. And I know that the ten percent is the lowest frac federal level. And I don't think it's been below ten percent since nineteen forty one so I mean, if that can continue to push things like that. I mean you mentioned like dollars French. I mean, in that, and universal basic income is a frightening thing. And it's becoming more and more accepted to those of you watching or listening and may not know what that is. That is. I mean, pretty much you get a check in the government, no matter what. And. One thousand dollars cash compliments, your democratic presidential candidate and stuff. And of course, it's all money. I mean, we're already into poorhouse anyhow, all that money to China, you know, Bama random country and he called Bush unpatriotic for running up the dead, then he turned around and ran up higher than all the presidents combined. Yes. And I mean that was a scary. Thing. And I mean you see, I mean more I mean, it's I mean we have to run out of money at some point. Hopefully it is, you know. Too soon all down the line. But I mean, I hate to say it, but, I mean, that means everybody's kids are going to be paying this thing. But, you know, these college kids, they go get an education nowadays. And I think it's only about the worth the papers written on because they got no idea what the hell's really going on behind the scene. I can't tell you how many young kids now that come out here, mostly women too, and I got two young daughters. But they think this fake Indian polka Hannah's warn is a greatest thing since sliced bread in. They don't know what she stands for anything like that. But I mean it she stands up there and lies and lies calls Trump everything under the sun. Of course. She's one of the ones that we're all bunch of. Hey, hey, seed Hicks out here, deplorables, and smelly WalMart shoppers, and blah, blah, blah. But, you know, these young favorite brainwashed by her phony rhetoric. I mean it's easy to do when you promise the farm and you know, you're not have to pay for college. Not available pay for healthcare, you're not going to be able to pay, you know thousand dollars in your pocket for this. And that I mean, no wonder they turn around and support somebody like the fake Indian. Yes. And I mean schools are I mean, I remember being not that can politics until I got into college right? I mean, and I wasn't even a Republican. Right. Why, why all the professors, it's like I mean so many of them. It's all the same thing, tolerance and open mindedness, and all this junk, and I mean, they actually try to use that. And of course, you prevent, I mean, I remember I was I actually was very big on that. Paying in different from odd and professors all quick shout them down. And I'm not. Well, that's what she call class warfare. And the Democrats. Well, let's let you fly because I take another break these other callers on here. So thanks for calling in, in talking man. Okay. Okay. Thanks. Thank you. Okay. Let's go ahead. David, we'll take a short break right, here America's trucking network. "Hopped onto Twitter and smoke of his family ties at a team and how he looks forward to come in Indy. Going. Michigan state on very excited to be on board. Fan. Obviously Jackson coast Bill. So I'm excited. My teammates. The rest of the day went as follows the colts selected USC cornerback marvel tell and tarleton state linebacker EJ speed in round five defensive and Gary green for Mississippi State in round six then route seven Utah tackle Jackson Barton and after trading defensive tackle Assan Ridgway to the eagles for Forty-six. Indianapolis ended entity trapped by choosing ole miss guard Giovane Patterson elsewhere players from colleges around the state heard their names called this afternoon. In round four Notre Dame cornerback join love was selected by the New York. Giants will Irish linebacker, drew. Tranquil was picked by the San Diego Chargers. And for the Indiana hoosiers guard west Martin was selected by the Washington Redskins. Rounding out that list were two more Notre Dame prospects as running back. Dexter williams. Went in the fifth round of the Green Bay Packers and tight end Allison Mack in round seven to the warlords saints. Don't forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook at sports talk for network getting into sports, I'm Jimmy cook. Now back to more, Indiana sports talk. Doc with Bob level. Welcome back, everyone talks racing with animal exander from f s one the call today on an exciting extended race at Talladega Adam sakes, joining us one a day for Tyler Rettig penalty in the pits for speeding is cars damaged. They put the duct tape on it. And the next thing, you know, he wins a hundred grand. Yeah. I mean, he he's, you know, this is probably the perfect way for him to get his first one at a year. Feel like he's a battler fire. He never gives up and today's you pointed out, I mean, they had their fair share of of issues and things that didn't go their way. Some of it self inflicted. Some of it is part of what you face it a place like Talladega. But you know, he there and got a couple of good breaks. And and was able to come back from all the disappointment adversity and get his first one of the year as I win at Talladega fun race to watch. I mean, let's face it. There's a lot going on. As you mentioned his first time. But this guy's he's racer. He knows how to be knows how to maneuver around this track. He knows how to get in victory lane and picks up some points now extend his lead in the Finnity series. Yeah, we came in as you said leading the points of his consistency had gotten him there. And you do get fifteen playoff points for of the regular season title, but he had one we hadn't really officially line. So into the playoffs. It was a foregone conclusion that was gonna happen. But by getting the wind today, you know, it it it solidifies what they've been doing. And now probably put them in a position that they can take more chances as we go forward. And you know, I just think overall Arshi are is is at good performance the last couple of years they just haven't been able to win races. I think about Daniel Hamrick who grow for them last year and. It was a big part of the equation at many opportunities, but couldn't finish. And I think even this year Tyler than in some situations where you felt like you had the best car didn't win. So for them to to close the deals today. I think is is big for house driver creates a lot of energy and excitement for that race team and the confidence now that they can close in probably makes them that much more dangerous as we go forward. This Saint Vincent sports performance hotline from Fox Sports one had the call of the expenditure race in Talladega and now qualifications over Austin Dillon. Eric Amarillo Clinton Moyer Brad Keselowski the top two rose. How about ask Austin Dillon's performance today to win that pole? Well, both he and his rookie teammate. I mentioned Daniel. In qualified up front and and this race. You know, you could have talked to me this weekend a year ago this weekend five years ago this weekend ten years ago. I would have said the Hugh lot unknowns. Talladega. They're always used the draft creates that you know, what I know it, and that's why we love this place so much, but I think with the aero platform. These teams are on the you know, lack of restrictor plate is now non-existent based on what they've gone to with this engine setup. These teams got a bigger curve ball to hit maybe they've ever hit. And what does that create? How will the cars react to does that favor? And ultimately, if we're going to have some some crashes because of the taekwando racing in the closing rate and all those things, you know, able to survive. So I think they're moving any many unknowns. I think there's a level of excitement for the fans, and if people like you, and I and I think there's a pretty high level of. Anxiety for the drivers and race teams as they go into this really not knowing what's going to fold do. You. Learn anything from what they did in the expanding de race that might help you with some of the things eighty well, I think you know, this is a rhythm track of. But so and there's an art them to drafting. And I think that that the cars right now. Because they were gonna place today. I just think the cars are going to react different tomorrow. And so I, you know, we we for years have come here, and you just didn't see much practice out teams because I didn't want to raise. About that last night. Practice more yesterday. The right. We see, and I just think that was to try to get their legs under them and figure out exactly what to expect in this race tomorrow. I I don't know if there's a way to go out there with thirty five thirty six guys and become but I do think that that guys will tread lightly early in this race to try to figure out how the cars going to react to good point. Which makes it kind of an interesting. It's always an interesting track to watch race anyway Ness. So now, you have this added drama where people are going to be a little cautious to begin with more cautious than than normally would be which sets up for what a trophy dash at the end something like that. Well, could very well be and I and I think history, you know, which show here and the trench that we get a late caution. And then you get a shootout. And you know, when you when you look at this thing big picture, and then you away from the end of this style racing. Set up the cars, and all that you start looking at the players and this year, so far it's been about Joe Gibbs racing and Team Penske, and they have combined to win every race so far this year and the first time events, and I think what you'll see tomorrow is the potential that changing Penske cars weren't great today in qualifying good practice and Brad Lasca, joy llegado or absolutely to the best at this style of racing and Ford is one seven and a row here. They drive Fords. But I think he had a long look at Stewart Haas, Eric, I'm all clip boyer's up there. Explore as we'll have speed. We mentioned the guys are CR. So I think tomorrow is is when the the run could come to an end for for Pinson gifts, and we could see another one of these organizations find their way lane. He's alexander. You did great work.

"Every fifteen minutes draft is over. Extravaganza has concluded the colts as you heard. Jimmy, talk about ten picks ten and. Defense defense defense wide receiver linebacker linebacker tackle center. You know, just kind of so rock you sin is. You know, he's he's a. A cornerback. You look at Ben Bana Agoo linebacker pairs Campbell wide receiver. Bobby oak reiki outside linebacker, Khari Willis, safety, marvel tell the third safety. He Jay speed inside linebacker, Jerry green inside LA outside. Linebacker Jackson, Barton tackle Giovane Patterson center. So I can figure that out they were heavily slanted toward the defensive side of the ball, which is good. I think the time we'll tell obviously, I don't think there is reason for people to be optimistic. Some particular needs seemed to be addressed. And we're going to talk with some people who know whole lot more about it than I do my colleagues here at hymns communications. Joe stays neck will join us coming up after the next scoreboard update. And in the eleven o'clock hour Kevin bullet from Indian excuse me from ten seventy two fan dot com. Will join us and talk about that. We are also it's it's a Saturday night. So we're gonna talk about racing and Talladega is worthy monster monster energy NASCAR Cup series. Folks, are the extended erase goes to Tyler Rettig about this. He gets a speeding piddly on pit road hits the wall and still wins heavily taped. Car and he wins in the dash for cash and picks up a hundred thousand dollars. So the man himself Adam Alexander who had the call in this race for f s one will join us at the bottom of the hour. And we'll talk about not only the Cup race. But we'll also talk about qualifications for tomorrow's. Gyco. Excuse me. Yeah. Gyco five hundred from from Talladega. And so on qualifications today. This one goes to. Despite fun day. Austin dillon. Wins the poll Eric alma Rolla on the outside of Rwandan. Clint Boyer Brad Keselowski. Daniel Henrich, Ricky Stenhouse junior. Ryan Blaney joy Lagaan who won it last year. Alex Bowman Kyle Larson. Chase Elliott's those are the top I live, and I tossed Elliott in there because I couldn't count was. So there you have it so adamant I we'll talk about will ramp up the expanded race in. We'll talk about what to expect tomorrow at Talladega. That's that's this our next hour. Kevin Bolinger as mentioned from ten seventy two fan dot com. Jeff, Rob Johnson, Peter dot com. If you're a basketball fan, and I know you are. Especially high school basketball, especially in our state. You know, this is the Utah. This is spring AAU circuit in it is massive. It's it's big. And. Catch up with one of the best covering this. And that's our own. Jeff Rabkin pig dot com. He's in Atlanta big tournament down there. We'll get his feel on some Indiana kids and kids that are being recruited by you and others because he probably has forgotten more about that than the rest of us. No big story, obviously, though is the NFL draft. And again the colts. I don't profess to be a draft expert. I also have never been general manager of an NFL team. So I have a certain level of faith in the people who do this that they know what they're doing. And. You bring in ten guys. That's that's just in sheer numbers is impressive. And I think we all understand too. That free agency is still out there and undrafted free agents will now be reporting the next thing. We'll talk about is the great number of those young men who get the opportunity to come in and compete for spots on a team. That's going to win a whole lot of games. And so, yeah, that's that's that's the next step in this. So it'll be setting would continue to talk about throughout the night. Looking ahead. You know, we have big race tomorrow. Obviously next week when it spent some time talking about high school baseball college baseball, Brad Huber our talking off air about how impressive. Our college baseball teams, are we have some really really good college. Baseball teams at all levels of competition in our state. So we'll talk about that. We'll come back talk with Joe stays neck about the NFL draft after Jimmy cooks scoreboard update on Indiana. Sports talk..

"tyler rettig" Discussed on The Final Lap

"It's not super impressive. There will be overtime finish. And each one of the stages throughout the race. Which for whatever reason the shortest race of the season has four stages all the long races throughout the year. Only three. So that's weird to me, but stage one will be thirty lap stage. Tooth twenty laps stage. Three will be twenty laps and the final stage which had been ten laps last year will now move to fifteen laps in the final stage. Also green flag laps only will count. And of course, there's unlimited attempts to overtime in the final stage as long as the race restarts. Within two or less laps remaining. So as far as the cool technical aspects, we're going to see that are kind of preview of the gen seven car, you're not really going to see much, but you will see. A single piece carbon fibre splitter and pan as well as radiator duct in the hood, which should cool the engine temperatures will also affecting the aero dynamics of the race car as well. So that's what we're gonna be getting a preview on there. That sounds so exciting. Yeah. So you kind of expect a lot more because a few years ago, they at least tried different tyre compounds and people do and. Few of the things and they've been testing out some huge crazy new things like the whole drafting package. We have this year was tested in the also race last year and seems kinda underwhelming compared to what we've seen the last few years. Is there anything for Jeff Burton's team to exploit if he were to be? Well, that's a good question. I don't think so. Wow. Okay. I don't think. So. So all right. So all star race is going to be a snooze fest. And you heard it here. First. We didn't say that. But. Less cited. I could not be. Okay. So I think I think it needs a venue change. Honestly. Yes. And maybe a figure eight ooh. That'd be cool. Yes. And jump. You have to have a jump. Definitely a jump. That would be cool for IB Gordon could help fit these nascar's with a stadium super truck kind of chassis. So they could do jumps and require the minimum speed to be mock. Okay. That sounds interesting. See? You know in a few weeks. We're getting her NASCAR rumblings about maybe having the cars, go mock. Yeah. I don't think we're going to hear about that one. They seem to always get panicked when they hit two hundred miles an hour. Yeah. I I'm telling you they're going to be talking about it. Because I don't know, man. They get all our ideas from us, by the way. How ridiculous? I mean, we've been talking about Daytona book ending the season for years and years Dale, jR, mentions it and the internet goes nuts. Yeah. It's not really they knew if you've listened to this show for longtime. Oh, we've had that idea for ever. And this was before that has even been discussed like nobody was even rumoring that the final race would change. I think Dale juniors listening to us and stealing content for his own little podcast there his own little podcasts. So Jackie exactly would've miniscule show. How about a little recap, but the driver point standings after a rare off weekend in NASCAR. I I've Cup series. Brad Keselowski as two wins. Kevin Harvick at goose egg. They're in fourth. Denny hamlin. To Joey Logano won. And Kabua's has three leads the points by twenty Toby has the NSS. Yeah. The xfinity series just all its fifth and points, which is pretty impressive because it's kind of a weird bad luck start how awesome cinder sit in fourth. "Feed. But I guarantee you a lot of people are responding with photographs of the of the orange rolls in their cupboards. Warning. There's one one guy but somebody a Corey basis a sack of Sweet Sixteen powder. Doughnuts. That's a good. Call. The an atom Niemeier who's videography university. He says I have pop tarts almost every single morning, and I'm thirty and I'm not ashamed of that at all. And I'm getting a lot of anger. Because we did not include a Honey buns on the list, which is the big big embassy. Honey. Honey bonds are are good. They're good. But see again there are so many universal. Confectionary delightful items that I mean, look man Honey buns when we were on the farm when I was a kid. We would go to the Hoppy and on the way home from the farm, and I would get a chocolate milk, and I would get a honeybee variety. So I understand coach beards staunch advocacy that a pop tart is a breakfast. Only item. Yeah. But it can be universal. So just maybe I'm just a little more open to it being a desert than most. Because Damian wasn't having eight. Why are we talking about this Travis? This is coach beard at Texas Tech is what he had to say yesterday prior to coaching in his first four pop tart is not a desert breakfast. About what ready is brought to you by eight has sprinkles on top ageless male tonight, the ridiculously fast acting. Booster that go to WalMart and get you some ageless male tonight. Hey, did you see what have of that? He gets the prettiest race car. I've ever seen is a good transition one of the prettiest race car that I've ever seen was on the racetrack yesterday at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Look at Dolly Parton. Sponsoring decide thing extremely series champion Tyler Rettig and not only Dali owned the hood dollywood is on the quarter panel Dali's spa. Is on his own the car pirates, voyage, entertainment dinner, Dahlie, stampede dinner. All of this was all advertise this pink race car and normal race car. That will obviously sponsorship just worked because I had no idea that there was a Dali spa. Yeah. Do all about dollywood. Of course, you know, Dali's beautiful beautiful self on the hood of that car one of the greatest, quote she's ever had. And she is an American treasure. You will not find a celebrity that is more beloved genuinely loved than Dolly Parton, her grace because of her kindness. Certainly I mean her career speaks for itself. Spanning generations. But she had the greatest quote of all time that applies directly to the Martin McGee program that being about hair the higher the hair the closer to God. That is Marty and McGee motto if there ever were and my wife Erica McGee, she wrote as you know, it's Rhode musical grits musical performed at last night in Charlotte going to be in the Raleigh area tonight. One of the songs that she wrote is called, I hope Dolly Parton list forever. And they lead into that song with that quote, and quote and quote from this show. She says, I'm not offended when people call me, a dumb blonde because I know are not dumb. And I know I'm not blonde. What about? My wife saying dollywood when I met her in college. She was a singer dollar would. And she talked it all at once. In the hallway back backstage in Dali told my life. This is in the nineties in east, Tennessee. So my wife had a Perm, you know, she's five foot nothing, and she had a Perm that was as big as you went down to her six four back. Yeah. Dahlie, stopped in a hallway said, I love your hair. Now, my wife is like, I'm good. This is getting the Nobel hair prize. Dolly told her that because it was. Was a big moment. That's like when that's like the story. I told your daughter the other night McGee called me at home at seven thirty in the evening. Tell his daughter the Michael Jordan story, they laughed every bit as hard as we have every time, which by the way, I learned something this week. I learned this week. That I did not know my audience on the Dan lebatardshow earlier this week, right? Because they had this whole conversation about celebrities beside whom you've used the restaurant, and I told the the famous Bill France story that everyone in NASCAR thinks it's so funny because they know Bill France junior they know who he is. They know his impact the lebatardshow crew, and the grew and listenership viewership did not know quite as well and my joke. Didn't my story was not nearly as funny as it would have been right here on the mardi McGee program. The so know your audience know your audience, and the I heard that and I felt for you because I knew that. That that Bill Frist really big deal. And by the way, the most intimidating person that I was ever next to the bathroom was the intimidator was della her senior, and I think he could sense that in my mid twenties, I was terrified at the trough at the Darlington raceway, and he was standing next to me. And I think he kind of like leaned into just completely freak me out. And that was it completely there to this day. It gives me when I think about it. And that was just him. There aren't a whole lot of troughs anymore. No. The trough these days. I ran into a trough at a camp Randall stadium, it Wisconsin. Man doesn't really Trump's in the Dane dome. Yeah. It was it was a revelatory spring for me covering Carolina basketball went to the bathroom, and there was a whole trough. And it was like a stainless steel trout. "I wasn't even participating in those sports anymore. And I was like, wow, I'm sticking with the go card. This is what I find to be fun. This is what I want to be doing every day. And so that that's pretty much what it turned into doing that every day. All right. Let's jump back to the RC our stuff as we start to wrap up here. It was announced of course, select races. So I'm assuming you don't yet know or you can't tell us how many races you think that will be. It's it's a short schedule right now. And incorrect it's up in the air. It basically comes down to after the first one or two we can sell more sponsorship for some more will add some racist to our schedule. I know are CR would love to do that. And I certainly would be ecstatic to do so so we're gonna try to do that. However, the number one thing we're looking at is making sure that we don't take any sponsorship dollars in two thousand nineteen that could be used towards two thousand twenty our focus is trying to build a full season for two thousand twenty. That's our end goal. That's what we're shooting for. So if that means doing a racer to fewer in two thousand nineteen to have those partners for two thousand twenty then that's kind of what we're looking at. So the big focus is on next year. And this year is just going to be about how we can sell for next year. So looking at Tyler Rettig, I mean, of course, I'm assuming you've seen the first two races. I think some of us would argue that he's been in contention to probably win those races your relationship. With Tyler do you have assuming you know him. But do you have a relationship? And what do you think it's going to be like having teammate in the garage? I think it's great. Yeah. I I've known Tyler for a few years. He's really good friends with Spencer Gallagher. And so when I ran over a GM Tyler was always hanging out. So I know him I've I've hung out with him and gone to race mill bridge with him before. So yeah, we know each other pretty well. And I think he's going to be a great teammate. And he's the reigning champion. So I mean, he's he's the guy to learn stuff from and and bounce ideas off of so I think he's going to be really valuable for me in the races teammates with him in again. He's offer that fast start assuming that pumps you up even more to get in these cars. All yeah. I can see the cars are good. I can see the Tyler's good. I'm just ready to soak all that in and be like let me and put me in coach. All right. So as you wait to get to that to Texas, let's wrap it up with this question. What are you going to do between now in Texas? How are you preparing what you mentioned the simulators or anything? Else that you have to do before you go and and getting that race car on Friday at Texas Motor Speedway. Well, there is a lot to be done is a lot of simulator laughs at are going to be turned. Hopefully, I can feel adjusted to it by the time. I get there. But of course, with the testing policy, I won't have any tests before then like that so truly the first time that I actually strap into the race car and fire it up we'll be in Texas before I practice. So that that's always a little bit scary. When you think about the first time I'm going to sit in this will actually be like race weekend. Like, you gotta get fast. And you gotta get fast right now. But you got to throw it down and turn one you really do you really do especially turned three? You gotta throw it down into. It is a fast track there. So yeah, there's definitely gonna be a lot between now, and then simulator wise, but other than that I'm just going to be crossing my fingers that I figure everything out on race week. Cash. Thanks for being on the podcast and looking forward to seeing you in Texas and wherever else you end up the season. How about that sounds good? Thanks kelly..

"Point as well when you're whether it's last year now this year while you wait to get in the car when you're watching races from afar, are you watching it from a fan perspective just trying to be entertained, or is are still that little piece of driver in you where you're also watching it? And you're probably learning something at the same time. I mean, I'm enjoying it like a fan, but I'm definitely learning from it too. And I think every driver can agree when they watch a race especially series that they know they're going to compete in this year. You're heavily judging the drivers and sizing them up and trying to figure out. All right. This guy's doing that. This guy's weakness is this and kind of getting an idea of your competition and seeing where you think you can get an edge on them and where you can beat them. So I think if you're racing every race you're learning a whole lot more. And I wish that I was but you can still take away pieces from each race. Even if you're just watching them and still feel like going into Texas. I'm more prepared than I would have been had. I not watched any of the races this season before that. So what is something? I mean because again, I'm I'm probably watching the race. And I'm looking at it with one way when a driver like you was watching a race. What are you picking out? And what are you learning? What are you seeing different than maybe the rest of us? Probably a lot of things that I won't even think of. But one thing for sure is every track that they go to accept Indy and Darlington which are later on the schedule. Anyway, I've been to before either in a truck or even inexpensive car to. So for instance, it Atlanta, I know exactly what the different lines are. And where you can find that little bit of speed. And I may not be Kevin Harvick. But I I have at least a little idea of what I'm looking at. So you can watch the guys and see what their tendencies are, you know, one guy drives two straight into the corner. He's not getting enough of an arc someone's having trouble clip in the bottom this, right? They're scared to go up top. And usually it's driving style to tendency of driver. So if they're like that at Atlanta, they might be like that at other mile and a hatch or other places that you can run the top or you have to really dig on the bottom on that yellow line. So you start to pick up. Things from from each driver and start sizing them up. And so when you find yourself behind that guy running him down, you kind of know what to expect like, all right? I'm gonna I'm gonna hit the bottom better than him. 'cause I've seen him miss it a bunch of times. And that's right where I'm going to be able to pass him. You can also see their their driving styles is to how they manage a run. I mean, Atlanta's the best place to see it so much tire fall off. It's a really long run place. You see guys burn their tires up early. You see other guys? I mean, prime example was Tyler Rettig Arshi our car he managed his runs perfectly. I mean, he had so much speed on the long run after a bunch of lapse. I mean, he was running down Christopher. I think if that last caution hadn't come out it was gonna be a good race for the win there. So so you can kind of get an idea. And that tells you if you're behind Tyler Radic on the racetrack at a place where there's tire where he's probably gonna know exactly what he's doing. So you might not wanna blow by him and drive on. Because if you laps later, he's probably going to be coming back past you. So you just learn things about each guy. And part of the learning started last year for those twenty two races that I did. And so there's a good chunk of the competition that I already kind of know how to race around. But but all of these things become so important when you've got a limited schedule like I do this year you have to make the most of every race. So you really gotta go in prepared. No your competition because you can't afford to have one bad race that could be twenty percent of your season in that day or twenty five percent of your season that day. So you really have to make the most of it..

"Your host Kelly. Crandall? Welcome back to episode fifty no sixty two I'm already losing count. That's how far we've made it. How about that? Welcome back. Thanks for joining us. Again, I've hoped you been enjoying what you're hearing. Thanks for all the reviews in the ratings. I appreciate that. I saw some new ones on itunes this week. So welcome back without a great show today with the dot Kassala as the guest growl is gonna run racist rituals racing coming up in the extended series and the number twenty one Chevrolet. So we talk all about how that deal came together. He's only got a few races. He wouldn't tell us the exact number or where they're going to be other than Texas. But we dug into how that deal came together working with teammate Tyler Rettig what he's doing to prepare for his first start and hasn't been in the car or a car since homestead last fall, and it's actually been much longer. The caz will tell you on the podcast since he's been on a mile and a half track. So it's gonna be really interesting, and you're gonna hear all about how he's getting ready for. His first start. So that is coming up if you don't know caz. I've always thought he's he's a great young dryer, very personable energetic. Does great with the media. I feel like so this conversation is one of my favorites. Nothing. I haven't had a favorite on the pod for the record. But it's always fun. When you go back, and edit these, and I get to listen to them again, you know, maybe like a couple of days later after I recorded it, and, you know, listen to it and make notes and go, you know, really go back into the conversation was and with caz when I did that I really felt like, wow, this was just it was really good to to hear how committed he was how good he he was with his answers and really kind of dug into certain things, and I was really really impressed. So Kasza cast great job. I really enjoyed talking to him. I appreciate Jessica trippy over with fury or an works with Cavs or helping set it up we recorded this last week over at the fury Ray. Shop a chasm, of course, drove for them last year. Remember, they came in made a bang in the expenditure series. And he explains why he's not running for them. Again. That's also in the podcast. So again, fun fun conversation. Caz has a truck win remember in two thousand seventeen he drove for GM and he ended up in victory. Late at Daytona. When things got crazy there at the end. And I think there's a truck flipping I think flipped right over him. Or he saw it in his mirror so caz gras is coming up again. I just want to say, thanks for all the rating than reviews. I do. I do see them. I love it. I love how engaged you guys are with me on Twitter, more and more talking about the the podcast conversations and episodes. I really really enjoy it. I I have been any feedback. I know that Google has not updated episodes for some reason. I know there's a few other platforms who haven't done it in a while. They've they've been stuck. I think on episode fifty. I have somebody looking into it who is much better at that stuff than I am. I literally just know how to record a podcast and hit upload to my computer. So I have people looking into that. If anybody knows how to fix it. And what to be looking for that will help us try to figure out why the episodes have not been uploading to Google music and other places, please let me know that'd be a tremendous help as. Are like tell they're still on itunes. They're still on the web page there. So they're always you can always listen to them on the web. I believe they're still updating on Spotify, but Google music, and if you other places has not updated on so if you have a solution, please let me know..

"Jeff Burton thanks for being here. Let's add you good. I'm good. You know, I was just thinking the mayor Boyer come up with that. Yeah. That was Boyer. He there's a lot of things in my life that voyeur contributed to that. I regret and that's one of. Always wondered if you'd like that tag or not, I know it's cool sometimes and other times it's used against me bad way. Not a great time to be a politician, right? Yeah. Perhaps not the moniker. You wanna have hanging on you? If you're in Washington. But if you're a NASCAR Clint Boyer bestowed upon you, Jeff because of your views on many things. And so we talked a few weeks ago about maybe getting together and talking about state of NASCAR twenty nineteen season starts here in a couple of weeks where things stand going into this year. There was a big discussion about drivers bringing sponsorship to get rides. And it was interesting because when you and I I talked about this. It was in December who's right after Brett Moffitt was announced that he wasn't coming back to a Tory racing because somebody else was going to bring a little money, and there was all this outcry about what's this about the defending truck series champion is going to have a ride. And now as we sit here about a month later five weeks later, the discussion has changed to Brett Moffitt got Johnny solders ride and a genius racing. And the question now becomes what happens to Johnny solder. You know, how is that fair? Like, it's it's interesting to me how the debate is shifted with the same players involved. And yet, I don't. Know, if I think when we talked about it has this debate remained constant in some ways. I mean is this a new thing or is this truly something that's always been a part of NASCAR. It's always been a part of NASCAR. I think it's more prevalent now than it has been. But if you go back, and you think about and that we're talking we're talking about inexpensively and trucks. I mean, that's the level. We're talking about there's there's not many people at the Cup level that are buying their rides. Right. There's not many people not many drivers that are bringing all the sponsorship and making that happen. These tend to happen more in the lower levels. It's always been that way late model raisin and dirt racing at at the lower levels. And it's creeping up the ladder. And the reason is keep creeping up the ladder is because of the expense. Because we have you know, snow syncing hiding from it. We have less people watching on TV and sit in the seats today than we did fifteen years ago. Right. It's everybody knows that. So that creates an opportunity for you have. Less people watching you have the the accelerating cost. So it starts limit the number of corporate partners that feel like they're getting the benefit. They wanna get. So that opens the door for private funding. Let's say and opens the door for people that come in to that can attain sponsorship, or you know, I think that's that's one of the things that I think is misrepresented and all this is that just because you bring a sponsor doesn't mean that you're a rich kid with rich. Parents. There's a major distinction. Okay. So Jack Ingram owned his own race team. He drove for himself. He's in the hall of fame. Was he a rich kid that Baldas on rye because nobody else would would would have him was Tommy Houston 'cause he dove for himself. There's all these incidences of people that have brought sponsorship to programs that had been successful. Tyler Rettig won the championship this year. He brought sponsorship to junior motor sports. So there's one that is never talked about like, it's well, he's just a great driver. He's not you know, he he was able to taint sponsorship. So everyone has to have someone that believes in them in some cases, it can be your dad, and some cases it could be your ankle. Your grandfather, your your mother that can help you financially in other cases, you have a relationship with a corporation. They believe you they believe in the sport, they make an investment or could be a car owner. That says, you know, what I've got I have a sponsor I want you to drive my car can happen. Anyway, so talent openly wins out, you know, money will provide an opportunity, but. You bring in money provides that opportunity, it doesn't it doesn't guarantee. Success? You take a guy like tolerate that came in that helped provide funding. There's many many drivers that are having success today that brought funding that are still capable drivers..
