But you're ever coy bro. That bro game was so crazy. like fun we can relive it man like so many times like wish. I'd go back to school basketball great. Yeah definitely definitely so. I wanna talk a little bit about that because back then of course you were a major inspiration from me on the court. Because i was like tyler. Fast his drew. I want be like so today. You know in your industry in just for everyday life. Who inspires you. The most man. Deputy would probably say There's a either make here In dallas and there was john he owns his own Vintage re-selling store here in dallas hit japanese street. Wear like will behind fashion. He's not like tweet. Six twenty seven so he didn't have the same as me but he's updated allow the same interesting but like his work ethic and his getting this is. It's like insane so like to see like the people mad the release What he has really Great conversations with him on right now definitely. He's biggest reason for me to say hi and saying like How he's making things happen and you know he has this Conditional himself where it's just like. The show must go on know gaza. What's happening. they're about to open a new store here in dallas actually on downtown and regardless of this whole quarantine like. He's still in the store. You know gonna build outs for it so you know. The show must go on yell. So regards to what's going on. He makes it happen regardless of. Who's on his team. That's not going to happen. He's gonna make you know. So i think that's the biggest reason from me right now Because it's something. I want to attain. You know when they have my own store. So deftly john yoshio follow him. "But he's definitely been killing it And one more. I think would probably be a designer name. Luigi has a brand called group. They've been really popping right now. All thousand athletes have been rented. I'm not sure if you've seen the bulla. He's he's really cool. So there's a lot of like Friends i have now who are in fashion to Looking to the cloud with very soon to as well So definitely be looking out for that. And i think that's it right now. I kind of like. I really have to establish myself a little bit more franken start looking to collapse but hopefully they'll be soon come definitely so i wanna talk about this too we talked about some of the cringe things that people have worn through the years so today what do you think is the thing that drives trends right now. I would definitely say social media. And that can be good and bad. Because i feel like social media time people portraying something But they don't actually live in real life and that's why i'm really adamant about Being able to know how to portray my life into social media without making it look like something that is not when it's really like reality So i think that sometimes over think it but still. I think i'd still want kind of work on that. And figure that out but he i think social media is a big part of Influence know people see are wearing ask like absence wearing and things like that so that definitely and changed trends so easily. Honesty dated today so There are some really influential people in flash at beliefs who had liquid style that single handedly could influence bashing trends like that. And i think that's a lot cooler to be able to do than like social media so Yeah i can push me is probably the biggest component right now trains. I like that answer. That's pretty true these kinds of things as big as they were ten years ago. The lots of things are changing around really quickly small. I kinda wanda dive back. And two i guess are touted again. I wanna talk basketball. What are some of your early memories playing basketball with me. Oh man back to swatter out in the concrete court man with the one single goal during lunchtime man can't be those jordan out there who can with us that oh yeah to alison craig times. Some serious games man on man. That's really the earliest times. I remember is john that mon carpi court. I don't know if he's still a lie so after the other day. But i'm not. That goal is lear. That would suck. Yeah some real memories. On i go alone. Wow i as i think back then You know i was by the time. I was in sixth grade. I was something like. I don't know five six seven all you grabbing her own be grabbing rim. I would close in sixth grade six grade. Where'd she really really. Grabbing that touching italy's yeah both times are pretty wild and i really wanna talk about now. I guess the end of our basketball career because it started out..

"Know what's best like possibly be we're handlooms pont definitely also teaches me that everything you do like try to do it to the best possible degree everything that lutron does. It's the best possible degree minutes clothing watches bags. They asked to beat the best possible detail down to the last detail on has to be perfect. So addition detail has definitely been instilled in me from working at l. v. so that helps me Conical especially in what. I wanna do in life so yeah I think that's kinda right now So now i want to get a little bit more into your craft. What's the difference for you between fashion and style style of courses. Just gonna be only unique to you. Feel like style is something that people don't have as much these days. A lot of people are just reaching for trends are just kinda thing would people wearing just like me also is not released by october faction really It's definitely what the trendy side of things dislike the high be shoes and like the crazy supreme jobs but i mean fashion is definitely evolving every day. Too so I think that it's kind of going through a another evolution right now so we should definitely look forward to that and but at the same time i definitely think that the boundaries have been broken fashion ten years ago to where it is now has definitely gone a lot better. Let's say that. Because every single time i look at these own pictures of nba players right to thousands man that those two on four. Yeah my goodness and the boxy looking shape bron james and this massive white suit that makes him look fifty times bigger than he is. I don't know what the times within or what rodriguez time so that brings me now. You know. I wanna talk about this. What's your favorite fashion era. Two thousand twelve to two thousand sixteen two thousand seventeen. That was really kind of like the baked through breakthrough straggler era so i was really cool to kind of see After that era high fashion houses like lieutant. You're lindskog Hopping Those trends like those the sneakers Bag your gene. So it's kinda crazy to see how black culture influence society so heavily to where These major houses have kinda by this little bit. So i think that was really cool to see. You know person like in our An ira so. I think that was really cool announced during the time where i really got into fashion. So that was really cool. And what life skills do you think makes you get your job. You talked about having a business degree. What kinds of things do you think really helps you out what you do now. Well i think that. I am very genuine person like authentic person so i think that i really helps create in trading relationships with people I like meeting people honestly really. I'm very people person like making relationships with people like l. abdul. Now let me go to know like a highly how they got to aren't and things like that the great place because you need lot important people against people So and not li while. "Because the last time you and i were in school together was ten years ago. You were confident but even though when people feel that they would make fun of things about you that would make fun of your lap. They would make fun of your nose anything and you were just your same self every day. Where does that confidence come from. Man honestly i think he'll scott giving like a shave sounds. I really can't give you an answer like where it came from. Because i think it shows like who i am you know Everyone goes through that. You know people picking on you and things like that. But i mean that's just life it's as much as sucks but as long as you cut yourself. You know knowing that no one's perfect that one person a rose perfect. I had a very good Foundation for my family so they instill Honestly i think a lot of conference from family to. I would say that to just because i think they still allow wisdom. You know the enemy as well. So yeah You just really have to be just mentally strong. Just which yourself South Had those blinders on you. Know that distract yourself in redes- focus on what's important You really don't ever have to try to be someone you're not you know in the world that only just makes things worse than life life even heart and so I think. I just never really got caught up in and to make fun of things like that because you know. It's really very muscular to the bigger bigger picture. You always somebody who kept the bigger picture in mind. I feel like so. What do you hope. Then you know when this life is over. What do you hope that people remember about you about your craft and about what you did You know when you're gone. What do you hope that people remember. Honestly i think i just. I just hope that i can inspire as many people closer possibly can on because i feel like an lifelock people get a lot of people get complacent you know. And don't live up to their potential or deuce Do you have one through with their passions like we only have one life you know and going into that like on. I think god like provide us with all the tools that we needed to be able to be successful. I feel really just had to kind of have that focus. Just have that drive. You know just little effort into it to try to attain that and I just want to inspire people to be able to do what they love. And at the same time. I want to provide the best product in and be able to show that what i i put in you..

"Just as much as i do. So i think growing up i had no like jealousy or anything you know because i think still at a young age. I was confident myself. Still not knowing where i was to go. But you know i never had any Knowledge towards my sister just being michelle. Because i'm sure. I was going to be okay in life soon. I was gonna figure it out. Get to somewhere. I would really want it to be so no. I will say i deny phil overshadowed fire. Well then take us through your everyday life. You talked about some of the things that you've been able to do louis vitton and your journey to get there but what do you wake up and do of course cove nineteen is happening right now so We'll briefly ignore that but what we normally So we're gonna retail it's It's kind of cool because you don't really have set schedule Because the store is open usually from like ten to like nine so paying day. if you're opening and closing condo change your situation for the day But i go to work definitely necessary. I'm opening So get there about an hour. Early about nine. Am restore opens Briefing richer manager And gloomy tons a great company because the really lousy beer saul so you really kinda like running your own business. It's not really. It's not really like a set way that you're supposed to sell of course they have certain things where you like one abide by. But they really you be yourself. So that's kinda something. I really loved about a v So basically my life is making relationships with clients in a way. It's not really more about product. But it's really bob making relationships with clients and really Helping them become like a livestock client brand and of course like selling a big part of that but i think that my job definitely helps me. make relationships with people in that people and that's definitely queued steppingstone in anyone's career is definitely be to network and I think that the network that have gained from their has probably helped me more in my career right now. Anything has so far on asleep I've met some amazing people. I've met some of my closest friends through The store just people coming in this Honestly been really crazy. Like i've met some really influential people in dallas. That have given me a lot of knowledge. Wisdom and I think that you know the time that i've been here so far year. Four months i've tickets is really this. Change the trajectory of buying entire life so My everyday life. Honestly i really can't. I wouldn't even say like is a set routine Especially besides club in nineteen set retain. 'cause it just something new every day that's kind of how much obvious But like outside of work. I'm actually learning so right now. i have a a song machine. So that's it's kind of like in this It's really helped a lot because kinda have a little more time on my hands. So i definitely want to start making things from scratch. Just like my next goal of making swim. My hands and So yeah that's kinda. What i'm doing right now. Just kind of like a different Space done what's before so desperately trying to grow and trying to put myself out of the box as usual hustle. Like when you put yourself out of your comfort zone in definitely helps you grow. So i've been doing right now. Those are excellent words to live by. I want to hear a little bit more about that later too. "It's definitely really encouraging being able to be behind on like that to excess racial and he's definitely teaching me a lot as i'm kind of within the brand kind of seeing how he moves and things like that so yeah definitely hope to attain a similar path. I don't want to be exact. Do exactly what he does. You know. But i think i do have Have gained a lot of wisdom and knowledge from him kind of the way. He's doing right now. So that's a good head space. Yeah yeah sometimes. It takes them people having to learn how to pave the way the rest of us come right through. Feel like you know as you've talked about being a little bit more outside of the box and not having to be what people expect people of color to be. I'm reminded of people like lebron james. You know who started the whole more than an athlete It all came from a saying of some ignorant news reporter saying that. Lebron james should just shut up and dribble and lebron. James is a massive brand himself and a huge businessman and creating shows. He's his own school missile. Yeah so i feel like in every single industry. You've got to have that one person that comes in and throws down the door for the rest of us and you know that might be yourself and a couple of different areas too. So i wanted to go back to our younger days again You know sometimes your mother she would drag us to your older sisters recitals. Did you ever feel like you were you know like overshadowed or anything like that never honestly My sister's a very talented person if anything. She only inspired me honestly to see her work. At the I was grown up around black women so They seen how they Do things is. I think that they're probably the hardest working people i've ever seen honesty in my life Mom's duffy hard working people over seen So if anything they definitely inspired me I want my sister to be successful..

"What am i going to do. Homage doria And there's so many avenues fashion that you can take to as well the styling. There's a retail. They're starting your own brand. There's reselling so there's like so many avenues that could take So i think that creating is what i love to do the most though like creating a actual things you know like a tangible things for people to see anti touch and I just think that creating closes. I wanted to do producing close So that's what. I kind of try to teach myself going forward and being a business. Major definitely helped a lot because i was definitely learning a lot about business as i was going forward with starting my own business. So that definitely was a positive So yeah so. I decided just to pop was like i'm gonna start my brand in-school kind of have a test run of kaz enclosed mall space of people who I had you have relationships with and do support me so why not see a how does so. That's what i did. I sourced basically everything through like out of the country. It was something. I've never done before to save a lot of money for it I actually in school. I've take a class called digital media. I did that purposely. Because the teachers use photoshop and things like that so let the class had make simple designs and so i actually created like a simple collection like four or five pieces that i made on a shirt that i made. That was pretty significant Actually sold had a rose on it And actually got rose from tumbler I'll even know like why. I decided got Cool but the name. I actually got some my sister. Mommy's always call my sister. Premadonna spo- a wide i know and then So i think just kind of stuck with me. Because as i grew older especially as i really I kind of started feel like that too. Because i just felt like my style outta the house i was. I was getting really comfortable myself at that point. So i just kinda like was like why. Not name brand so That's what i did. And i did the pop up. It was something everybody. I would do so soon. I was so nervous. I didn't think that so many things were happening. That could have gone wrong. Like of where it was supposed to be in was just so crazy how it came together in like at into this really created back on it like right now honestly is like that actually did that But i just think everyone who came supported me like so many more people who even thought would come showed up so that was really cool and definitely whole taught me so much going forward in. Yeah so that was definitely a great time of cars career. Probably the highlight of my 'cause career and death that to you know all of those people showing up for your own pop up event. What did that do you know. You're i guess you're self confidence people support you. But i guess you don't really know until like a you put something out there for people to support if that makes sense and so i got back from it was just like can't be scrapped. The feeling it's the best feeling ever because like you make something not out of just to make money off of but just because you wanna make something for the people like he wants something that people can wear everyday that people think looks cool that people just in love with. So it's just that feeling of support Kinda like keeps you going and It just makes me wanna go even harder..

"So this what you wanna do The motives has to be right. And it's something that you just have to all That you percent on set on in-depth about do it. 'cause you're not gonna be for reasons. Antionette really stuck with me. Because you know there's so many other great careers is being a doctor that you can impact communities and help other people in so. I think that was a turning point for me to realize you know. There's so many more avenues. Where i would succeed more in or be more interested in medicine so and my passions were fashion. It's always been since. I was in high school kind of or Of high school career. So you know you have to like take those components in life kind of piecing together in and make something happen. So that's kind of what i did. You took what you were given. Even though most people would have said it's way too late to be reconsidering. You still decided to go ahead and do what you needed to do. But of course. I know your mother so i wanna know how she was feeling when you would you do. Did you call her on the phone. Was it over christmas break or something. Because i had to like thousands of going into my senior year so i had to completely change. Everything changed my major. Had to so you know. I told her straight up. I was like mom. Dr like this is not something only to So of course you know. She was just to disappointment her face but she ultimately is always going to support me when i read to you. And she wants me to be happy. And she knows that there's a their careers in life that you can be successful in that she can and the help impact the community and still be tab have a reputable career so I think that she did a really good job. Is still making mutual like she was behind me a hundred percent..

"Nba two k. Against me you know. I still views man and i i used to spam it so then i i showed you lose done deal. Dwight howard was like coming around low. Yeah on was automatic back. So of course i want to go back. You know back to our childhoods and we were pretty good at school. The two of us though. Of course. I have to admit your always much better at math. I'm sure it's still that way today. Math is just for me but we went to different universities and since then your path has gone the more creative route so today. You're an artist right. Yeah you can say that. Tricia i have like a big goals and aspirations for myself so like When when it comes to titles. I try not to improve so i had turned on to the tidal myself. But like a few if anyone feel like they were a minority super cool new so thousands to hear that doing by not having title right now. You're just tyler doing your thing until the time is right right. So where did you go to school for. So starting off i went to school for business premed so actually aspiring doctor Which is super crazy. My father was a certain uncle. Doctor mommsen's The healthcare industries like very heavily influenced sending my family so kind of we all. I knew Especially come on a high school was basketball and and like the career in medicine teaching and things like that so Going to college off business. Premed i kinda more was leaning towards the business is more than medicine. Side as time went on Discount felt like medicine really wasn't my calling and it was kinda hard to discover that for myself because it's senseless so heavily a integrated in my family. It's kinda hard for me to like beyond myself. what i wanted to do so As time went on. I actually didn't decide on not becoming a doctor to my senior year of college last year. So actually actually had like overload like a whole credits just to be able to graduate on time just so i could get the business degree even though i was still business premed so but it was super cool. I was able to do that. did well that year too and i graduated so i was kinda my row in college. That's absolutely crazy though so in your senior year you decided this just. Isn't it for me like what finally drove you to say. Okay doctor. this isn't actually me. What happened man. who did i sit down with. I sat down somebody. It was either my uncle. Or i think it was I will just talk about life and he would always ask me because he's a doctor himself himself is are you sure. Which one do we always ask me like every time i for school or every time we talked. You know he'd always like ask me y'all do And every time. You asked me that i would like to think you know. Tell them no disappointed. because he's adopt Want immediate become dodger Not knowing my interest know really honest with my family. If i wanted to do but they kinda saw my interest will. It wasn't really medicine but Going forward you know. I had like one science less one or two scientists left to internet school which is super crazy so he sat me down. He was like you know. Net school is a total commitment to life commitment or coming because that's value. No twelve years realized in schooling to schooling..

Everyone welcome back to another episode of fills philosophies this is a podcast about life and self-discovery arm interviewing friends and all kinds of people who've been doing stuff in life to hear their stories today. I'm interviewing my friend. Tyler mason so a little background for everyone back at home. I'm at tyler. Fifteen years ago and we were pretty inseparable. And so i moved away as i always do and lots of changed in the last few years. So tyler if you can remember. What's your favorite childhood memory with me man. So do probably you kinda like helping me discover just like games and just like honestly you like instill creativity in to me like at a young age. Just because like like helped me be myself especially we were Like elementary school going into like a full medical Together but like especially in high school was just like just being yourself like what your interests are like. Don't let that change you know Depending on how people to pick you up presenting your soil. So i think that's looking back on it. I think that's probably favorite memory. My favorite thing about our relationship is kinda you gotta help me bring out the out of my shell a young age so i think that was a stopping me on. That's really really special. I would have never known that at all and of course back at home. Tyler is the one who actually showed me how to play basketball. It all began with a sunday afternoon of playing. Nba live two thousand and five on xbox. And i've been all over. Nba two k. And everything else sense. Do you still play ball on much. They used to which is crazy when we're playing ball. I thought i would never stop but as you grow. Older things changed in the. I never stopped loving the game. I still watch in big game caused games all the time as much as i can. So kinda sucks right now because of going on so but I try to as much as i can. But yeah not as much but i love the game for sure. Yeah you know. These times are tough because of covid. Nineteen i was actually watching the nba that night And seeing those guys about to go out and play and suddenly they're called back into the locker room they're waving goodbye fans really weird time living in yeah it is but a death rate for two comeback around this weird. It's weird like we'd never been a time where next on sports becomes back. Yeah absolutely so. Of course i gotta ask who. You're rooting for these days. Because i remember one of your favorite players coming up was our guy. Derrick rose yes sir waist now i mean he's still killing so you know it's so great to see him back in action like doing things he to do when he was younger amd before the injuries. So that's always gonna hit home to me But now we're gonna shoot. I'm a die hard fan. So gotta stick with the home team. And i think that's where. I'm going to be forever now. So you know hallelujah identities they holler luca luka luka doncic yes sir so he's been doing really well this year so it's hopi he continues to take down that pass man super exciting kinda back to worry. Worry back in like two thousand tans on six. It was cool like seeing that again deal. Not that is hilarious to me. You know up watching basketball because you of course you introduce me to it. And i would play with the dallas mavericks and i remember the first time we ever played nba live. You're like fill that white button on the xbox controllers alley oops so i would abused that button over and over again and those of you who played. Nba two k. Against me you know. I still views man and i i used to spam so then i showed you and it was done deal. Dwight howard was like coming around low. Yeah on was automatic back. So of course i want to go back.
