Wilson, Lockett help Seahawks rally for 26-23 win over 49ers

"Turn it. Hand called his time inside. The ten inside the five touchdown seahawks back. It's up five. Doesn't matter alex collins is gonna punch it in for you anyway. Steve ray will. Kiro with the call outs. Columns ran for eight yards on a yard score. Russell wilson threw two fourth quarter. Touchdown passes the tyler lockett the seahawks rally twenty six twenty three win over the niners They end twelve and four. The seahawks four game winning streak But they are locked in at the number three seed. because of the saints packers winning the seahawks will host the rival rams in the wildcard round next week and mark. How good you feel about the seahawks. After today's game i would. I'm concerned about their offense. It's almost like a flip inverse relation to where they were earlier in the year. Where the offense was we watched it through the air. We had russell wilson pegged as a potential mvp because of how they were allowing him to play and how decay metcalf antilock. We're playing and the defense was all the concern. I mean lock it today. Set a seattle seahawks record for receptions in a season decay metcalf set a franchise record for yardage in a season but a lot of that has to do with the compiled numbers from earlier on this team. At one hundred and nine yards the start of the fourth quarter. They couldn't run the ball and it took a very typical seahawks. Finish the tyler lockett touchdowns and the alex collins dash for a score. I mean they came up late in a game where i would put this a little bit into divisional game against cal shanahan. Who robert sala. Who thought again. It's been weeks in a row. Coaching lights out. I'll made things real tough for seattle seattle things tough for the niners in the opposite way just sort of a typical nfc west beatdown and this niners team. They keep flashing to the box up in the sky where like star players not in the game. I mean they're doing with nobody and seattle. They work themselves out of a funk to some degree. do i trust them

Bill Barnwell on Bears versus Packers

"Watching bears and packers and aaron rodgers to the surprise of literally. Nobody just decimated the bears and mitch trubisky forty one to twenty five so i wanna turn this conversation to the horse race. The mvp conversation because there really hasn't been a wire-to-wire front runner. This whole time. We've seen the pendulum kind of swing. Russell wilson kyle murray. Was there for hot. Second mahomes obviously and aaron rodgers who remains squarely in the thick of it after an off season full of drama around jordan. Love being drafted at quarterback and yet there is aaron rodgers just dominating again robert tanya and guys at touchdown to robert tanya made aaron rodgers the eleventh. Qb in nfl. History to pass for more than fifty thousand yards the second-fastest so where are you on. The whole rogers ram vp. Okay so i. I'm inclined to pick. Patrick mahomes by choice right now. And i think the only thing separating those two with russell wilson third is that one disastrous game. Rogers had against the bucks earlier this season. And i think if you're going to make a case for rodgers. Mvp to start with the idea that he's doing more with less and mahomes has to work with. And wilson has to work with the homes of course has a dominant group of receivers with Terry travis kelsey leading the way. Russell wilson has decay metcalf and tyler lockett and we talked about this before the season. Rogers has devante adams and a lot of question marks. Rogers has injuries and opt-outs affecting his receiving corps from week to week and on top of that. The guys who are extra showing up are posting the second highest drop rate for any quarterback in the league and yet when you put rodgers back there even against a very good defense which the bears are. There are stretches this year. He looks absolutely untouchable. The bears had no answers for him on sunday night. So the other

I wanna finish this show by thanking from the bottom of my heart everyone in this great country of ours who worked the polls one week ago today and counted votes and are still counting votes to this day. The people who have been doing this remarkable work on behalf of our democracy are getting smeared right. Now there's no other way to say it. They're getting smeared. they are getting smeared by people who say that. The results of their counting bet was in their benefit. Thumbs up the results of their counting. That's not to their benefit. Well we need to check things out. We need to look at things. We need to look at things that are not being at all backed up with any viable proof. Will it exist at some point. Maybe so at what point will we have to see how about now. How about now. This great country is all about voting. We talked about it for weeks. I talked about on nfl network. And i fell dot com slash votes. I gave you different spots to learn how to register to vote because your vote counts your vote. Now if your vote doesn't wind up for somebody specific. It's being questioned without any hard evidence. And i was very proud to watch all of the people on board of elections. All the people were counting votes. Didn't matter what party affiliation they had and you're seeing some people whose party affiliations matched that of the current president. Who are saying what they did is going to hold up and should hold up and we should hold it up worldwide as something. We're proud of and not cast into doubt because a certain result wasn't the way that the man in charge can accept. That is what's happening now. And i wanna thank again. Everyone out there who adjudicated our election in this crazy time professionally and on behalf of democracy eyesafe. Thank you and. I'm not falling for any banana in a voting tailpipe. "In Monday night Football. The Rams beat the Bears 24 to 10 in Los Angeles. The first place Seahawks wasted a record setting Sunday night performance. Details recall those bills warts Tyler Lockett was absolutely spectacular. Last night, 15 grabs 200 yards, equaling the franchise best by Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Largent. Even with block it's career performance, the Seahawks lost for the first time this season. 37 34 over time. There's just things that we've gotta constantly work on being able to maintain the lead and not give it up. Now. The Hawks could be missing starting corner Shaquille Griffin for Sunday's home game against San Francisco. He's dealing with a concussion and hamstring issue.

"NFL network, we aired a piece of your poem being read by many of your colleagues across the NFL on the issues of social justice, and I'd love to give you the floor on that tyler and how everything is going about getting your message and the conversation out in the conversation a continuing. While I'm thankful that the NFL game in opportunity they came to me with an amazing idea and asked if I'd be willing to write a teasing and you know, I'd take the opportunity. thought it was a really great piece. I got a lot of great feedback from a lot of people especially from back home or people I talk to my family about it and Thanks for that a lot of people in a league came across to WanNa be a part of the video and just the way that it was displayed. The way that it went I thought it was really amazing. I thought that got our point across with everything that it was during that video that we wanted to present each and every person just with everything that's going on i. think we have the cigarette out role what it is that you feel. Are Part is this to be able to make a difference because not everybody's GonNa have the same. we all play different parts in the body in every part is GonNa be significant to being able to bring promote change, and so I think that for me, I'm trying to find my part and I'm continuing in the final way to be able to present the message that I wanna to be able to display in a be able to not only raise the gap, but to eliminate that gap to where we can all be seen as one. Yeah. Reality versus perception is the poem that U.. Penn, and everyone should go NFL dot com to see the reading of it included Aaron Donald Saquon Adrian, Peterson and more really was. Very. Moving and just beautiful tyler really was I'm glad to hear that you got the reaction that you got what about next steps before again, we get to the football and and everything else. What about next steps? Here. For you well, I mean there's a lot of different stuff that you could take. But like I said, a lot of people are just coming up with a lot of different ways in a lot of people are coming up with documentaries and just different things like that to be able to get the point across I. Think for me it's being able to use you know my performance and arts to be able to get it across different ways. Whether it's poetry whether it's me standing up being able to speak whether it's being able to like I said bridge the gap I think is just if not, just one step that's going to make everything, right it's going to be multiple steps be taken, but everybody just has to continue to move in the same direction. So for me even you know if I have people that arc occasion, then I'll hang out around or that I know like if they come to me and they ask questions and they WANNA know like I'm able to present it to him but I try to talk to people who WanNa Learn WanNa know more want to understand rather than people Who just don't want to talk about their all or who's just blind to the fact of what's actually going on. So I, try to do the best that I can and talk to people and they give them information and knowledge to tell them to why certain TV show or certain movies such as like Detroit or even just mercy your thirteen documentary on like try to get them to see a lot of the best they can understand what it's like that we go through if they've never even tried to pay attention to it. Kind of lock it here on the rich Eisen show let us move to your football team and the offense that appears so explosive the conversation has been about the Hashtag. Cook that at the offense is different. Is it different this year tyler do anything differently. I mean I think we're just taking more chances than we usually have done I think that the best part about us right now we're playing aggressive and or not allowing defense to determine what we do at offense where we're going to beat a one to push buttons of defense and I think that's one of the best things about what we're doing this year. I think we got a lot of great players on our team to make plays and so and matter what teams do what against us we have a lot of great different provisions that can be able to make highlights. and. So just being able to have the opportunity to go out there and play and see what teams trying to do. They're trying to take away way. Light matchups in Split coverage and a whole benefit. So normally, I know you WanNa talk about anything that goes on internally. But have you reviewed film of Decay Metcalfe's I would be touchdown and if so how much crap has he received or how much do you think he will receive a few of yet to go over that film session. Tyler Lockett, we already went over to film sessions stuff but. It was just you know casual conversation that just you know make sure you just play all the way through you know went into the whistle is blown wait and see in the end zone. But you know ultimately like we trust the came, we weren't worried about that play at all. a lot of people might really highlight that playing make it look more significant than it really was but I mean we wanted to win the game west not doing throwing the ball and he scored the last touchdown so in working out so it's more so of a learning experience rather than a history lesson and so I, think for us. Grateful that we were able to get the win and we know that it's a learning experience, not only for him. But for all of us, you need to learn by experience, and then you can learn about going through it and so for us in the room, a lot of percents as a unit, we just learned about it as we went through together. But the thing about us is we pick each other up and we continue to play. We don't dwell off of one mistake we don't do a lot of. wind bad play we just continue to play and we continue to fight and that's what makes us as a team. So special in terms of what's special to tyler you know. a third round draft choice where you had to really prove yourself and then make the most of your opportunity is something that would describe your quarterback as well as you. I'm wondering if you have any inspiration from what you saw Russell did with his opportunity and what you've blossomed into four him with him what you're experiencing together right now tyler. Yeah well I think I think it's just a power of who doing this for a while you're playing a game. A lot of people have a goal of being able to get to the NFL, and that's what the goal is always being ever since they were little kids but once they get to the NFL, what's the goal? Now you've already accomplished a very thing that you set out to accomplish that he but you have to continue to be willing to set goals. For yourself will continue to be willing to stay true to why you decided to play this game in the first place and I think that's what separates a lot of guys are staying or league and a Lotta guys who just end up being in the league. There's so many distractions that come with being an NFL that some people get swayed by those distractions. And they never reach their full potential of who they could became in the league and so I think when you look in rush I we have our reasons why we play and that's what motivates assess what inspires us when we don't feel like practicing or don't feel like going into a game like the very foundation the root of why we do it. Always allows us to fail and trying to be better every single step but away as we play and really it's just about being given an opportunity. Once you're given that opportunity is on you you can't look at it and say, well, I gotTa play my car tried I gotta hope this person is hurt this part all you just go do what you do. You know if you focus on your gift, you'll get for make room for you. That's just what's been happening the more you perfect it the more that you master it. So doors that'll be open to you, but you gotta be faithful before you could become a little much more. I love that answer Tyler Lockett and I'm when I say that I don't.

Fantasy Football Forecast: One BIG THING you should know for every Week 2 matchup

"I sit out the way New Orleans versus Las Vegas raters. We saw New Orleans showcase really really solid, really great defensive performance against Tom. Brady and the buccaneers They were pretty on disappointed as a team, lot of penalties on their defensive side of the front. The saints rebel to take advantage of that. La Raiders played against the Carolina Panthers last week and gave up thirty points. It's very possible that New Orleans doesn't look as Resi as they did against a really solid defensive front in Tampa. Bay and they might have their way with a raiders team that is still kind of pretty young and trying to get their footing and all this stuff. They don't they had an injury to majority of their wide receivers in the last game. So Dan, Waller seems to be their only solid option. At the receiving side of things that might mean there in Waller's uptick in target's share and my means, he gets an ends on this year or this week maybe something good happens for him I'm buying all the stock now I'm Kamara right now for this game, this should be Alvin Kamara. KAMERA's two touchdown, a hundred yards from scrimmage plus game. This is this is the one I wouldn't see why would be any otherwise and to be quite frank. I think that a lot of players on seem to have a really big game and this would be a really fun game to see trae Kwan Smith. I'm going to bring them up again. This'll be a fun game Trey Smith. Look to be a solid. Relieving game just for brevity and sake of saving saints, fans of fantasy fans alike, some worry as to what the saints offense can look like without Michael Thomas Soaking up a lot of the defensive pressure. All right. So Fancy implications all over the place you know Josh Jacobs. This could be a really good test to see just how much they believe in Josh Jacobs as a pass catcher because I don't know how much he's going to be able to do in the run game considering New Orleans is when had and still does on one of the better run defenses in all the football. I think the best game. Pound for pound this week has to be the night game on NBC, where New England is playing against Seattle that they're going to be playing in Seattle New England the we have a kind of banged up cam and she says it's the there's no hamstring issue but. Of Most people are saying that he does, Kinda. Have a little bit of a hamstring thing going on and we'll see how that affects him with all read option stuff and what we saw from last Sunday's performance maybe we started to see cam throw a little bit more, and then we can really see just what this doing his offense really has to offer for them sure that bill will have them ready for whatever and we saw sea hawks offense that basically let Russell Wilson do what people have been asking. Them to let Russell. Wilson do for basically the majority of the back half of the dense. You know twenty seventeen was to let Russ Cook and Cook did Russell Wilson? Do He only missed four passes? He had A. Great amount of yardage great touchdown passes de que look. Nice at times he did have some drops of course, Tyler Lockett looked really good. Chris Carson looked amazing. In the past game. We had some really good screens run in for touchdowns. They got tight ends involved the plethora tight ends at the seahawks own and their defense was literally flying around all over the place. Now, there are a lot of garbage time touchdown stuff in that Falcons game that I'm not GonNa hold against the defense when it mattered. Jamal Adams and of course. Everybody else in that defense just looked phenomenal. They just looked physical. They looked like they were flying around and making plays they look very formidable as team very formidable. So. That is a game as the May have a lot of implemented implications on things so KEEP IN MIND I think one of the better secondaries in the League is New England's granted they played against. The, dolphins but they did not allow that many receptions or receiving yards at all for either receiver on the dolphins and Tyler Lockett, and care very athletic fast guys but. It's going to be tough. Is GonNa be a tough about we'll see what happens. They may have to change up the strategy of leading Russ Cook for this game in particular and work through the old tried and true run the ball and try to make something happen later on in the game. But for US Russell Wilson owners like myself I hope they just let him throw the ball a little bit more that'd be nice. That would be fun I think we'd all like to enjoy that. So moving on towards another game I think the Baltimore Game at four, twenty, five eastern standard time on CBS is going to be a good one, Baltimore versus Houston. This game can go I think Houston is a team that kid look Jacqueline Hyde and they've been jekyll and Hyde ever since the Shawn Watson is come on that team and. Not Sage. It's the Sean played bad last Thursday. But he definitely did not look comfortable one hundred percent of the time and you just was trying to make plays. His offensive line wasn't there fully stout at all and when it was time to just throw throw throw things Kinda got out of hand for Houston Houston can't be a team that gets to behind too quickly or else it is going to be nightmarish for the offensive line. And it's going to be a bad day for Shawn Watson even though he can make miracles happen at will while Samour's in perfect position to take on a team that showcase bad tackling display. So this is a team. So if this is the time where you want to be like, okay JK Dobbins, he didn't have that many targets but hey, he got two touchdowns in is the time to test out the JK Dobbins is going to be. The album? Kamara. To Marketing Rooms Mark Ingram. So we'll see what happens here Lamar he this seem doesn't tackle well, Lamar could have himself a anywhere closer to forty to fifty yards rushing easily against this team if he wants it, and of course, Mark Andrews is a guy who I would think would eat very well against the Houston team that allowed drivers Kelsey to get like five catches in the first half with ease marched up and down the field with ease Look to see how David Johnson looks in his second bout. David Johnson had a nice surprise of a Comeback Week one performance that a lot of people were speculating was possible and he delivered for the most part. So that was encouraging for many people to go ahead and see so I wouldn't. Put it past him to do it once again. That's really really against the I think that Brandin cooks is still a bit. So that would not be. Great for folks owners. And I would be looking at anybody who has. Willie snead Willie snead was all over the place last week and it was almost to a shocking amount of how much willie snead was dependent on and I said Willie snead. That was not who I meant to say I meant to say will fuller will fuller will around the field for the Texans last week and I would like to see him continue that stretch because that would be. Pretty awesome to be completely honest. I. Would like to see a will fuller healthy and showcasing that he is here to stay in this league and thus it would not make me feel nearly as bad for short.

Russell Wilson New Orleans Houston Willie Snead Willie Snead Tyler Lockett Willie Snead Russ Cook Shawn Watson Alvin Kamara Raiders Josh Jacobs La Raiders Brady New England Tampa Waller Seattle Trae Kwan Smith Chris Carson

"You know what if I just go watch TV then it'll go away may because then if it goes away when you wash that you're going to think that you always have to watch it in order for it to go away then you got to be a teacher stop bothering me and sometimes you have to take a step back to be able to see it in a different type of Lynn strong-minded to wear now when you go to work you're carrying Zaidi now when you're in the car you're carrying exotic now when you're at the movies you're carrying anxiety now when you play you're carrying in a one thing they ran and so those lab results revealed noticeably younger smoother and more energetic looking skin and so they call it the brighter entire affect to learn more about called errors the good and to support the funding mess Ri podcasts punch over to called Dera lab dot com forward slash finding mastery and the good stuff is you'll get twenty percents off your purchase when you use that link or enter the code finding mastery were doing that work for you twenty percents off best of all you can try it percent risk-free if you don't love it they will refund you in full and finding masters also brought to you by Roka no matter what I'm doing throughout the day whatever my plans are Roca Sunglasses are my Go-to they've done a great job of combining style and versatility to create sunglasses that work for any setting whether precising headed to work or hanging on the weekends and when it comes to versatility they even have prescription sunglasses so if you wear glasses these prescription glasses our game changer meaning that you can wear glasses and work out at the same time and then I'll slip off your face plus they have a hometown program that allows you to pick four pairs and try them at home so that you can find the one that fits right for your face one way to support finding mastery and Rocca is by heading over to rope Gotcha dot com forward slash finding mastery and Roca's spelt are okay a so it's a Roka dot com slash finding mastery and they're gonNA offer twenty percents off any purchase when you use that link that's Roca are okay A. dot com forward slash finding mastery. Now let's a jump right back into the conversation the SEGA moment deconstructed because I'm nodding my head and anxiety is not a fear of something good wrong but an excessive fear that something could go wrong so having a thought like hey something bad might happen totally cool that's going to be a few alive definitely the passiveness of it kicks up what's called the automatic nervous system right we've got two channels sympathetic comparison that so when you when you use the strong minded imagination that somebody might have and all of a sudden you're ruminating or thinking excessively about something could go wrong our system called the sympathetic nerve system kicks on because it's hard to tell if the image is going to happen the brain right is going to happen or is it just my imagination so the brain will he's not stupid award but for the most part errors on the side of readiness ready to tiger so those who have strong minds strong images the broncos Oh okay well shit let's meet the demand and so heart rate comes up breathing starts to change vessel constriction blood starts move differently you know the reason we get cotton mouth is because we don't need to digest food if the Sabertooth chasing us so that's why cotton mouth like that system will works and how do you create space in those moments that's a question to you I think the way that I create based on a lot of those moments is one of the things I do is I write in a journal so sometimes I write in a journal in when I write it I kinda like honest with myself in every single way in every aspect every intention every motive like every reason behind what I think and I put it on a piece of paper so I could be able to take away the power because I think the key is being able to know how you have to take away their power so for me you can be able to pause all stars so like if you have all these crazy thoughts in your head you can say with those dogs are so like if you have fearful thoughts just say fear panic trembling like you know in now you're starting to take way all of that stuff because now the thing about your imagination is it takes you to a place but you have control over your imagination as so when I'm thinking about stuff like that I'm trying to find like what ways best worked for me sometimes you can think about like what's the worst that can happen and I'll tell myself every bad thing that I don't want to happen and control my breathing my thinking through the whole thing the worst things that I was afraid of happening didn't happen when I said it could happen you're actually using to release stress not gic research based approaches one is when you name an emotion or state at the fuses the state okay rumbling it's not quite naming an emotion but fear yeah you know anxiousness worry naming the physiological state will also kind of defuse it a bit as well and the second is it's an inoculation to the worst thing that could happen so when you imagine the worst case scenario which sounds it sounds like it's not a recommended thought but if you're if you're heading down that path to say where hold on now what's the worst thing that can happen and then you see it could deal with that that's the second part of cheese that's the worst thing I can manage so then you come back to where you are and you're like Oh okay well whatever and so I can deal with it you know I think this thought that I wanted to see if you could chin check this a little bit but I think one of the most powerful thoughts we can have as humans is that no matter what I have the ability to adjust to it yeah no matter what happens it's a fundamental belief that you half but you have to earn this belief you have to go through difficult things to get that beliefs statement right which is I can deal with difficult experiences ah I'd love to just short form answer like do you think that that is one of the more powerful thoughts no I think it is I think that is a powerful thought and I also think that exactly has to do with your mind wandering so you don't have to argue with your own thoughts sometimes we get so caught up in argument with our own head that we forget that we're in control a thought only has power we give it power and there's so many thoughts go into our head but there's only one thought that makes it to where it allows us to choose whether we react or respond and so I think the more that you become powerful and college of knowing that you control your mind that you have a sound mind then it allows you to be able to be more peaceful and not to worry about those things is going to happen otherwise you're going to be ready every single day every second of your life you're going to be like I'm ready for what's going to happen and there's nothing that's happening because you're the only one in the house and you're watching TV it's like it's not quite the ready okay so all right why Jesus for you that come from and so I it he is your mentor he is the mentor for you right like there's you say God Jesus but I know that there are different for you and so is Jesus the One Yeah Jesus my Lord and Savior you know I'm a Christian or believe everything that the Bible says and you know like when I was growing up I went to a Catholic church you saw two boy understand all those different types of things and then you know different types of just like some of the different stuff just be an altar boy you know like as a Catholic like you know you pray to marry you know different stuff like that and then I would go to a non denominational wishes I got older and I started learning all these days about God and stuff and I really wanted to be able to change I really wanted to be able to be like everything he created me to be a lot of that was because I put myself in a box because when you feel like you did some things in your past that you had no idea about because you were so messed up then all of a sudden you start wanting to say well now I can do this and if I could focus on this I know I could be forgiven and I could be happy something lighter brighter more aspirational as opposed is something destructive or whatever yeah like this was when I was younger like in high school you know when you think about those things that you're like whoa like the Bible says like if you do this stuff you'll be put the debt ethanol Old Testament but now Jesus died for us like we're able to live you know because he made Hamill Nuno's NBC so that we might become the righteousness of God so when I was younger now is learning about God and stuff specially in the youth group like if I I started taking it so serious to where I'll put myself in a box and I didn't allow myself to fully like enjoy life or be myself because everybody has this type of light dot process when it comes eleven for God like or you can't go to the club can't do this or you can't listen to secular music not I mean SOS starts to make you think well what can I do if I can't if I'm supposed to read how much supposed to pray how much like there were questions that I had that other people didn't have which was like you know when people say I can hear change falling spirit my question would be like can you really here don't because if you can't i WanNa hear them I love this question so I grew up Catholic spoon spoon fed if you will we had priests monsignors and Lots of folks in the home you know our family was was dedicated and my mom worked at the Church dad was heavily involved and I remember try like having lots of questions and I had the same type of question like I could never here God I didn't know what that meant and so and I still I don't think I have and I listen a lot I used to talk a lot that's what prayer was talking and asking and then so then I flipped probably about twenty years ago to listening way more them I'm still not hearing it and Oh maybe I'm being too analytical about it but anyways my wife and I go to a a three day mind from this retreat nothing it was last year her sixteen hours silence meditation whole time listening listening listening and she you know at the end of the retreat she leans over she says I heard what I heard it lilos she said hammer it's or whatever but she says I heard God i what look like excited for it that's why now you yeah and so I won't I won't go into what she heard but it was it was game changing for her so have you had what have you had that or do you have on a regular basis man I had a game changing moment in my life because I always wanted to make sure I believed the right thing wanted to make sure that you know everybody has all these other types of beliefs and I didn't WanNa be don't WanNa believe in it wrong thing at the end of my life and so one of the things I said I really had interesting moment where it was it was a guy I remember in college he was like a Muslim so he would talk about a lot of this stuff this dingoes a man who went from Christianity to Muslim I think as I listened to it in our member I went to sleep that night because I was just like you know Oh God I WanNa make sure I believe you know the right thing like I don't WanNa be driven the wrong way and then find out at the end and literally when sleep I sleep paralysis and it was something that you couldn't wake couldn't couldn't move but you are wait I was awake by like I'm seeing is right now as I'm talking grandma fall and I hurry up and turn it over to where the brightness on so I turned the flashlight on try to wake myself up and as soon as I said that like I woke up so this was all a dream this was I don't even remember waking up on my eyes already open and it was just like everything I saw wasn't there anymore okay so hold on help me understand was this a dream or was this were you actually in prowess is actually paralysis okay so you were awake conscious yes but you can't move but you just described that you pick up your phone literally had it twice that day because the next time I had it I was I was up and then I heard my alarm clock go I mean I heard my alarm system go out the only way for me the only way I woke up or got out of that situation was when I caught on Jesus as so for me it made me realize that you don't have to go looking anymore and when I stopped look in I started to.

"This is what I'm about in this is what I have to like to let child listen to show you guys and I'm not worried about which I'm not worried about which I feel I'm not worried about it they're gonNA they were not reassured you killing everybody out here in practice and so I was like no I wanna Rishard I want to reassure and then when the first two games in really go well I was just like see that's why and now all of a sudden you've got to live up to which your dad is dead and if you don't live up to any of that type of height then you feel like you're a failure but in this case like the I was and I just decided to be myself and just do the work now worrying about the results like that was my biggest thing don't worry about the results the results are going to be with the results are going to be but the worst change who taught you that that's something that I really just learned when you said just learned Wendy so I really learned that about myself weeks ago because when I was Kansas state it didn't matter what type of game that I had I was just went back to work it didn't matter if people praised me I went back to work it didn't matter told me I wasn't good enough or I wasn't going to be able to beat this defensive back that was about the army I just went back to work even when I beat them even when I prove that he couldn't guard me I just went back to work and that's the thing that I realized was the result was never bigger than a word and when when and now in my life I started to see that I'm so based on results and how things start to look that I forget the very thing got media which was the word when you first came into the seahawks I remember conversations with the coaches like Liam he's one of the top recruits here and he's doing he's at practice before everyone else he stays later on the jugs I don't know if you're on truck pre right so like the idea that you were doing the extra work with something that you came in with yeah and so fits what you're talking about right like you're you're connected to the process and hard work more than hard work for you it's smart work smart hard work and then what got in the way I think that they got in a way was just it was people like you know when you first come here I mean you listen to the stuff that a lot of people say in the NFL is different people view it as a business and a lot of people don't understand how it works when I drafted they're like I remember one of the first things gas it was like they don't need you he told auto rookies at you know they don't need you is a privilege to be here and you gotta prove that you belong on his team and stuff like debt you know think about college you're not GonNa get kicked off the team you're not gonNA get cut air by Primoz makes the team I mean you got a scholarship they allow you to be a walk on but here it was just like okay so I gotta prove myself and so now my going out here and I'm playing not only in trying to prove myself but now I'm nervous because I don't know what it's like to be cut announce scared to be cut and now like I started realizing like I did have anxiety earlier owned by just never knew what it was because I found ways to cope with in and controls uh-huh how're you doing I was doing an unhealthy way for the most part but when I started to realize was like that might have been in things that I did that helped me I but like down the road like now I'm near three years four years five years I realize like you can't get caught up in a lot of that type of stuff but when you focus on the business aspect of anything you start to realize that you can't control anything you start to let everything tell a story you look at the plays or the I try to give me the ball are they must be trying to give it to somebody else because they make more money oh so now they just want me to be a decoy they don't want me to be able to help out so don't get the stats and now you look at everybody else and people in two hundred yards one hundred and fifty yards now people are talking about you saying that you're not as good as they thought you were going to be because you can live up to her but they don't understand was going on every single day at the facility or they don't understand the road at your given on the team to be able to help make a team successful a so now you're dealing with all of these other thoughts in your head and you didn't confuse yourself because you can't even believe your thoughts because now you're trying to please everybody else as well as try to please this business to be able to show them that you belong when the key about being successful in his business is knowing that belong in knowing that you don't have to prove it to anybody but just to believe it within yourself that thought like it triggers a thought for me what comes first successor confidence it's what comes first belonging or knowing you belong or actually fitting in and belonging and obviously the the relationship in the narrative that you have with yourself is what's that it's that up and it's if the narrative if the storyline is about business and success I love your point that you start interpreting whatever it was taking place as a threat to your success and the narrative would support that and sounds like that would kick for you oh yeah definitely I think for me like when I think about now like anxiety I started to realize it was a monster that are created with their myself in a lot of it is because I was so good at being in control and I knew I was strong like minded type of person in the worst thing that could happen to somebody that strong-minded have a panic attack because literally you think everything thoroughly you try to figure out why you had it if you do this maybe you could prevent it from happening and you start to figure out all of these different types of things instead of just looking at it for what it was in Danny light this only happened because of this and now when you start going places you start over analyzing you start over thinking you start checking like I'm checking my breath I'm Chad getting my thoughts I'm checking my heart make sure okay making sure that I'm okay the worst part about panic attacks is the fear of future panic attack Oh yeah definitely not so do you WanNa talk about panic attacks yeah we can young can yet so you had one yeah and then obviously you're talking about it and and then the checking of it is the worst part of it so how did you work your way through that because you know it's not many people have panic attacks but many people have anxiety he ends some of the things I do is crippling for people and some of it is kind of garden variety stuff which is kind of a high level if you will just unsettling but for some people it's really ebeling you know and so you know walk us through what you learn that mean I learned a whole lot man like the biggest thing is you learn is good he's not a bad thing uncontrolled Zayed's what becomes a bad thing when we are about to perform on a big stage when we're about to take it test or we're about to do something we've never done before we have this nervousness inside of an truth is but that's a control type of anxiety and sometimes we don't even realize it that was exiled until we start to figure out like what's going on with me now like I'm over hyperventilating like things are happening too much my mind racing if you're late to the game low awareness it's like it feels like you open your eyes like what party a Mayan exactly this is overwhelming yeah yet right if you have high awareness you catch it sooner yeah and so you are what you're describing as well as that you became overly aware right hyper vigilant to the fact that something might trigger a panic experienced out of control feeling Nah I mean man it definitely is yeah I think the biggest thing and it was one of the things that you kind of taught me was a panic attack can kill you but the thing about it is you can't tell the difference between a panic attack in the heart attack inaugural Bang Bang so if you never had it before you know you get sweaty you know your pause might start getting much easier ears start ringing you start getting a little dizzy your heart my start beating a little bit too fast or yeah mouth and now you're at the point where you like oh my gosh and my brother die because you don't know what death is like as so dentists like after you have that especially being a strong minded person like we say now you're over analyzing everything now you're overly focusing now you're overly thinking now you're overly trying and now when it comes to like focus on your breath because that's what breezy back to the now you're over thinking your whole breath taking because you can't even focus because your whole imagination is like just wandering everywhere and the key is to be able to have a sound mind to be able to bring it back to what's going on right now and that's the biggest thing that you know that I've learned was because at the ended a day you know like you said a panic attack is like an alarm clock is trying to wake you up and let you know that you need to deal with this before something bad really happens and you have to be able to south you can talk to people about it but don't get to the point where you need them to be right there so like the thing that I learned is the key is being able to create space and everything that you do you create spacing of thought so you don't take it serious you I mean tyler you know I'm the I'm hearing you right now knowing that you've done an incredible work to be able to create even say what you just said but the thought about creating space for me that is what masters is about and it's about creating space between the frames that are taking place that everyone else might be seeing but you're playing in the space between and the space between thoughts is really an old thought its zen thought and not many people talk about that because it done the investigation around it in the easiest way I can describe it as you know let's say you're playing a video game and it's a card game right and when you're sitting in the car the cockpit of the car and and you're trying to navigate the course it's happening fast you'll see the corners the cars are coming up on your really quickly and it's hard the CNN perspective but if you could watch from a helicopter perspective now you've got space that makes all the difference in being able to see like oh I got corners coming up I got cars got traffic I got this that and the other well let me just kind of relaxed and navigate through this 'cause I see what's happening yeah the space between non definitely like that's that's truly like the biggest thing because when you think about anything and everything alive everything becomes overwhelming if you focus your attention on one thing and you know what thing about it is like I had to tell myself if this is the only thing I'm dealing with I'm having a great life you know just like football something that I'm going through and it's not be in good to me right now like I have a great life because it means everything else is going right this is the only it's a different type of view and so even when it comes to create a space like you start to learn that a Lotta people fear anxiety is because they have that type of panic relation the ship with it they haven't tried to alter their relationship to be able to come to grips with it to where it's like look you're not a bad thing you're teaching me how to be so to be better it had to be able to take things to a deeper level and to accept it for what it is but when you don't create space what is happening is your source auto's things that you're doing has in common is and so now there is no balance okay quick break to talk about her new partner called Dera bob so why are we partnered with a skincare brand because I genuinely believe that this is important skin is important and I love the Caldera lab their product is called the good and it's specifically tailored.

"tyler lockett" Discussed on Finding Mastery: Conversations with Michael Gervais

"Nine dollars with any purchase now this week's conversation is with Tyler Lockett an NFL national football league player who currently plays wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks and Tyler was drafted by the Hawks in the third round of the two thousand fifteen nfl draft before that he played college at Kansas State where he broke multiple records now this is the first time I've had a current member of the seahawks on the podcast and it was a special conversation tyler comes from strong athletic family elite athletes his father and his uncle playing the same sport and he walks us through how he dealt with family pressure of up to their legacy tyler has a very clear spiritual framework allowed him to work through these challenges and I I realized that many of you you might not ever aspire to play professional sports in some you might have a very different type of faith-based nomination that you're working from but this conversation and it's really about living with alignment and that's something available and I think important for all of us so this conversation is really about list ending to how Tyler's working and then to figure out how you might answer those same questions and more importantly what is the framework that allows you to explore your very best across multiple environments and conditions and for Tyler it's his connection to Jesus and that's a huge part of it and also his love for poetry he began performing on open mic poetry slams in high school and if you know tyler this is just part of how he works and he uses poetry to work through challenges he is also seen it inspires teammates through it and also give young people an opportunity to reflect on their own lives and that's why one of the reasons I wanted to celebrate Tyler's work is because he just released a new book called reflection and it's an amazing collection of original poetry by him addressing topics like identity sports and race and relationships in how to live with purpose and it's not just a poetry book it's got poetry inspired words if you will and then a workbook attached to it for each poem it's really nicely done I highly recommend checking the book out and with that let's jump right into the week's conversation with Tyler Lockett Tyler how are you I'm doing good advice Oh this is fun I haven't done this yet with sat down somebody who's on the team you're the first person on the team that sat down with to do so exactly sure how it's going to go but I'm looking forward to it yeah nom looking for a to a two man appreciate you let me be on the show and I'm just interested in the topics we talk about and just how it's going to get out there so you are so many folks don't follow football you know that part of the community a lot do but you're wide receiver on the Seattle seahawks and to make it really simple you're the one that catches the balls most often right okay so you did you grow up football yeah I grew up for his family so football basketball baseball ran track like I did it all dad's legend as well Dan uncle my dad was the best receiver Kansas State and my uncle was up there I think top five receivers at Kansas state as well as one of the best return owners so when I went up there Kinda had a big legacy the time to live up to what was that like so you it was a legacy school meaning that you had family there before and they're spotlights and there's also shadows right it when we think about legacy and sometimes the spotlight is great but sometimes it what you know and it's like a little too much for people and sometimes there's a shadow like you can't quite get the shadow from legacy and so for you what was that like a Kansas state offers got there wasn't really as bad I thought it was going to be a new that I had a good because my dad went there and my uncle went there the same coach Bill Snyder was still there Michael Smith who kind of helped coach my dad inaugural receiver he was there so I knew that everything was Kinda like set for me to be able to go to Kansas state was the first game that we had that I started to realize how big of a legacy that I was going to have to live up to because everybody kept saying oh he has a speed of his uncle yes the hands of his dad like he's in the middle of both of them so everybody was like really excited to see what is it he's GonNa bring to the table like what is it that he's GonNa do it become and the first time that I actually went out there and stepped on the field in the field of play everybody just scream in you would have thought scored a touchdown and it was literally just the entering into the game and at that moment I think that's when I started thinking like what are they gonna think of me if I don't live up to what I'm supposed to live up to the the first game I caught my first past everybody went crazy then are caught a return I took off at a really return and then I think I kind of fumbled and we oxted and so at that moment I was just Kinda like man like they might be lie he's not going to be anything we thought he was going to be an in the second game I dropped the punt then it was just kind of like my confidence Kinda just went down because I was just like man I don't know if I could be able to do this because everybody's probably looking at it like man we really he was gonNA have an exciting forty years but now we don't know what we're going to get out of this person at this moment that you're describing is for most people their greatest here's is not being good enough not belonging public ridicule and especially it's even more challenging when you're her father and uncle you know who you're still close with are trying to help you out as well right and what are they thinking I don't know but so you're describing something that's incredible ably challenging for people and let alone the normal pressures of trying to compete right okay so why do you if you go back to that first moment stepping on the field they're cheering and he had those thoughts about what if what if I can't live up to this this is called the imposter syndrome by the way right and what did you do with that thought in that moment if you can remember I think at that thought it was just Kinda hard for me to truly focus on what it was that I was doing like I knew what I was doing but it was almost like when you will make a play is Kinda like you're checking to see how everybody else fill and then when you didn't make a good play you check in a kind of everybody fill in instead of me staying in my right mind I started focusing on like what do they think of me you know what are they saying right now to one another or their cousin me out when they're out there the stands like those were the things that were kind of playing into my head because it was like oh he might not live up to this legacy and then what were you doing with those obviously you know that those thoughts aren't going to get away they were getting anyway so what literally what did you do with those thoughts the thing that really helped me out was because you know I'm a big believer in my faith in God so I remember I told my mom I was like man I'm transferring I'm leaving I'm about to go back home not go live up to this legacy like I just don't want it audits pressure and I remember took a walk out of my dorm room and I just walked all the way to the football complex in literally was just praying I was talking to guy in Kinda like I don't understand why stuff is going on you know like I wanted to rich and I decided to say you know what I'm leave it in your hands because at first I was going to do bad on purpose soccer shirt and then I was like you know what I'm GonNa just do what I can do and put it in your hands and when I did they was like shoo you go and play any to reassure that's why I didn't want to deal with this legacy and Blah Blah Blah but when I pray to God that day it was a story that came up into my head and it was when Jesus with the disciples and he said in Cyber said like Jesus which one of these people send was a him or like was parents and Jesus was like neither was does the will a guy might be displayed over his life in that moment everything made sense because at that moment is showed me that didn't have to worry about living up to the legacy in everybody had all these thoughts about always going to be because of his dad is going to be because of his uncle but the thing that Ns Doria showed me was that gal was going to say no those gains wasn't decided by this or that it was decided so the child could see with the first two games was like because now what out the do you're GonNa realize that this is something that only God could do and after that I had that mindset in the third game I scored as my first touchdown we played against the University of Miami and then after that I got put on kickoff return because the kickoff return was tired we played against Texas Tech and you know how that is Texas Tech Guy that crazy offense than we played against them they put me back in Iran back and then all of a sudden it was like okay stay back there then the next day we played I ran back and then at that moment. That's when I knew I didn't have the question anything anymore because I knew that story kind of gave me the confidence and guidance that I needed to achieve what I needed to achieve week and therein lies your framework right that is your spiritual framework psychological framework infused and if I play it back what I hear you saying is that basically I was trying in a secular way to live up to the shadow or the spotlight from my family and I needed the approach in that different approach is it sounds like what you did was you surrendered instead okay got let me hear what you got to say and then what happens had a revelation but you had a new idea which is okay let me start doing this for God as opposed to for a pre yeah because I mean when you really think at it think about it and you look at it all like everything was set up in a way to where the expectations from me was like through the roof like we're talking about teachers at no my dad we're talking about people that work at candidate than no my dad so when I'm walking places doing everything I'm literally seeing in the same just my dad and so you know how that's hard for people when they have to try to live up to what their parents did or what anybody family is done and they felt like if they're not a good enough then they won't be accepted or they feel like you know there'll be a laughing stock to everybody else is kind of like imagine Michael Jordan and then you gotta be his kids Michael Jordan and Mazda was more so my dad and uncle did because they were seen as the best to come through at Kansas state and who would ever thought that if I stayed true to who.

"Like it because there's nothing that I do that I don't like is to learn and to learn from people who have committed their life efforts towards mastery both master of craft and mastery of self and what we WANNA do is one understand the psychological framework they're working from which is a fancy way of thinking about how do they make sense of themselves and how did they make sense of events in the world around them and then we also went under net Ford Slash survey and all the questions are optional and I just WanNa make sure that if you have taken the time I just want to thank you it's greatly appreciated again that's finding mastery dot net ford slash survey okay athletic Greens long thing that I've noticed since I've started taking the product is that I just feel great after I've had a class and it sounds really cheesy to read I'd but it's true like if that's what happens for me is I take it in a few moments later it's I don't know it's like this I can notice that the stuff is working at the cellular level and it might be placebo I don't think so like I spent a lot of time with supplements and understanding like how oh I think in what I eat and eat and how that interfaces with you know me and I'd love to know if you're having a similar type experience if you haven't tried them out definitely give them a go check out their web page which is Athletic Greens dot com forward slash.

"Let's sure you can have a perfect passer rating because you get a couple touchdowns and whatever seventy-one targets to Tyler Lockett and Russell Wilson had a perfect pass rate. Now, please remember when we talk about Tyler Lockett in this context, we're talking about fantasy football Tyler Lockett the player as evidenced by that passer rating. Has been everything and more that Seattle could have hoped for when they locked him up on the extension, but fifty seven receptions, I just don't know if the what that says under thousand yards fifty seven receptions, if he doesn't score you're in trouble. That's all that is. Yeah. And they don't wear the ball enough. He scored ten touchdowns this season on only fifty seven receptions. That's anomalous. That's not something. That's usually going to repeat five eleven one. Seventy you had Doug Baldwin miss a ton of the year. And when he was out there was not really himself for a lot of the year. And like you just mentioned Andy this team clearly went completely one eighty. They went away from Russell Wilson the passer. They ran the ball. They got back to the good old nineteen seventies and says Schottenheimer. Yeah, we're going to run the ball smash mouth. And there's. Not enough volume to trust here. And I'm not trusting the touchdowns because look every player we've talked about everyone receiver on last sudden this episode you want to know what they could do for you. They could be a dominant one to go out there and win your week. They can go out there and have a monster game. Tyler Lockett, never did. He literally did not have one game over twenty two points. I mean, his his seventeen point nine nine thousand nine he had a nineteen week. Yeah. It was nineteen most of the time. What would happen is he go out have a mediocre game? Catch one touchdown. So he's fine. Yeah. But around when you're talking about top fifteen wide receiver finishing ahead of other players who could go out there and dominate some games. Aide in hindsight Tyler Lockett was good player year. But you just can't trust that you can't project that Tyler Lockets, darling. Because of where you drafted him, and what he performed, you know, based on that drafting so for me, his consistency ranking was twenty one he finished his fifteen. I'd put him right around twenty one twenty one twenty two uncomfortable there whereas Baldwin Baldwin is behind him. No new. Oh, real. Yeah..

"So those are things to keep in mind about Tyler Lockett. He is an intriguing play when you play the Seahawks defense because if you play Tyler Lockett in the Seahawks defense in the same DFS lineup and then Tyler Lockett runs back a punt return or a kick return. You are going to get six points for that for Tyler Lockett in you get six points for the for the Seahawks defense. Now, the probability of that happening is extremely low a main. Let's you know, let's be real. But it's also the probability of you winning a big daily fantasy. Tournament is always it also extremely low. So, but you know, that's a way to be a little bit different. And it's also a way to maybe capital out. You know, you essentially double up on your points in a guy who also fits in with that correlation would be Chris Carson because look if the Seahawks get ahead of the Cowboys. They are going to be in more of those pass rich situations maybe rack up five or six sacks on Dak and they will be run run friendlier situations and the Cowboys showed some run defense cracks late in the years. It was kind of weird. I mean, they were consistently dominant against the run all year. And then all of a sudden week fifteen Marlin MAC runs all over them week seventeen saquon Barkley runs all over. Now. Those were both games those were both away games. And the Cowboys were great at home this year. So, you know, keep that in mind. I it's it's not necessary. -sarily a good forecast. Predictor of what is going to happen in this wild card round. But it does suggest that they're not as impenetrable in run defense as they were all season. And we know about Chris Carson Seahawks. Love to feed him the rock. He comes in with twenty plus touches in four straight games. He's playing at a really high level. He's mixed in some big catch games as well. Cowboys give up a lot of catches and receiving yards. Two opposing our bees. Reshad penny came back last week only played four snaps four touches enforce naps. And I think that he's probably just going to focus on kickoff. Returns lining up back there with Tyler Lockett in in the wildcard round, the number two back. Mike Davis is a little bit of a sleeper. He had a lot of passing game usage this season. And as I mentioned the Cowboys gave up a lot of catches two running backs as well if the Cowboys take. The lead in to me. This is the hardest game to predict on the entire loud card slate. It's it's like a one or two points spread. It's been kind of moving back and forth all week. And I just I don't know. I just don't know in my in my final column, I headed his twenty four twenty three game in favor of Dallas. But I I have no confidence in that whatsoever. I think with Chris Carson though, you can count on the volume it's not gonna be there as reliably with Mike Davis. But you know, that he's going to get some usage to project him at like seven to eleven touches in this game. And he's gonna play majority in the passing game. Russell Wilson is you know, maybe the most dangerous quarterback on the slate. Just in terms of you know, we know that he can be a difference maker. And if he falls behind like he can put a team on his back, and you know, wind up out scoring every quarterback on the entire slate. And I think it is ownership is going to be low. I think that a lot of people are going to go to Watson and luck. I think some people are going to go to Trubisky which will make sense, and we'll talk about in a little bit. I think some people will will look back, and I think it Russell Wilson will be very very reasonable in terms of his ownership percentage. I think you play him with Doug Baldwin out. Talk about David Moore cer- David Moore had an awesome game in the Seahawks week twelve upset of the Panthers. Was like a hero in that game. And he was actually a second his second straight one hundred yard game. And then I don't know what happened, but the bottom just fell out on David Moore I made from weeks thirteen through seventeen David Moore had thirty two yards on sixteen targets..

"I think from the beginning of this game. Even prior to its starting. There was something interesting going on with the chiefs defense because you see understand Keller KENDALL Fuller's hurt, but you would assume. Okay, Orlando Scandic and Steve Nelson going to be next man up so trenchermen Smith and various wards starting and then Ron Parker a healthy scratch. Those are abnormal things. You wonder if there was something more going on even at the beginning of this. And then obviously carried over into the night. Those guys weren't good enough. A lot of the players in the middle of this defense weren't good enough. And you can't let the hawks as one of the college said score thirty eight points season, high four hundred sixty seven yards for the Seahawks tonight in the end of the game was just throwing the ball up. I mean, that's Russell Wilson threw some balls up and said. Doug baldwin. Tyler Lockett, go beat a couple rookie corners, and they did dunk Baldwin entirely. Lockett are above average NFL receivers and. Good. I'm not trying to make excuses for the defense because the defense. There's no more excuses for the defense, and Bob Sutton, and so on and so forth, but it is a tough number to call a Trey Smith in various ward in their first game and say, hey deal with Doug Baldwin Tyler Lockett. These are good players with radical thrown the ball. Exactly. This is not an easy match up. And you make it makes you wonder if this was a message being sent you know, you see Ron Parker not playing you see Orlando scattered barely plane. They're trying to hold maybe trying to hold some guys accountable here and trying to say, you know, what if you won't do what we ask you to do or if you will pay attention during the week. We'll let these young guys get some reps and take their lumps wonder. It's a good point. Because there are about ten people on the text line. And you can always text us six nine three zero six is the text line is about ten people in a row somebody needs to be held accountable. Well, what does that even mean? That means guys shouldn't play guy shouldn't get snap sky shouldn't dress. The can't get the job done guys were held. Accountable tonight. And you know, what happened the defense still torch? What are you gonna do? I mean, you wanna say hold guys accountable. What are you going? Do Chris Jones and default in one room and say, okay, you guys can just enjoy yourself taking nap and then the other. You know, nine players whatever you have on the defense. That's who you gotta held accountable there. It's not like you can bench guys. And then there's going to be better players to put in there. Just as nobody else. You're right about that. Thanks for the phone call. We'll get to more five seven six seven six ten..

"But. I don't disagree. The I ranked him thirty one and my rankings reflect the state of Doug Baldwin as he has been. But I'm the one who's always going to be a week late on on on a player. So it's kind of like Chris Carson are ranked in there because I don't really buy it that is hundred percent healthy Doug Baldwin. I'm not sure I buy until I see that he's consistent, but I will say this. He had four receptions and week nine last week five. So a little more targets going his way the last couple of weeks if he can get it into the end zone. All of a sudden we're talking about a different receivers. It feels likes to find you has trust issues. I think that's what we just learned. There could be trusted. By the way is Thursday night games. Right. Because it's the beginning of the week and people still have hoping their matchup like if you call something for Monday night football. First of all, you're usually making your call on Friday sherve you Sunday morning during fantasy football now. But also people are like, yeah. I know you said you expect it Odal sketched to catch three touchdowns. He only caught two. But whatever I still won my matchup for Thursday night, though. People get sour gr-. They. Call. There's there's nothing worse than when I put a Thursday night player. Either in the lover com comes out of Thursday. And then of course, it just doesn't go that way. And so then people. Being like, oh, you're already wrong. So when Doug Baldwin scores two touchdowns tonight. We can all sit pretty knowing that we mentioned that possibility and the possibility that he does not actually reach his season averages Tyler Lockett as been more explosive Seahawks wide receiver like a lot of the metrics target share and things of that nature like overall catches like or at least target chair probably suggests that Doug instead of your play. But lock it's just been better. He's been more productive has been. I mean, he's been very touched on dependent then but he's been bothering independent then not touchdown. What he's doing? I mean, he's scored one in seven of nine games this season. Right. Lock it has. And then you think about you know, they like to take some deep shots. They'll set up play action. They like to take some deep shots to Tyler Lockett Packers along the ninth highest deep completion percentage. So far this year. They're allowing a league high thirty two point four yards per deep completion this season. So when you connect against the Packers it goes a long long way. And so obviously Tyler Lockett who has lived off the deep ball so far this year comes kind of an interesting thing a little bit more of a boom bust wide receiver three I'm a twenty-seven interest. Like, so I've locked at twenty twenty-seven I have Baldwin at twenty nine, and I believe I avow scant Ling at twenty eight years valid scaling at twenty eight. I mean, they're all sort of right there. They're all sort of low in wide receiver threes. And so again, like you're asking me lock it versus Baldwin. It's close, but I have locked at one spot higher..

"True. You'll Riddick legare blunt as rave not been pro lift pass, rush, rushing off as the resident carry on truth er who believes the breakout is upon us, and we are here. I would still rather have David Johnson. I don't think he's going to break out to be a top five type of running back because of what Andy said. He's still going to split time rest of season. He might not be the goal line back, I think carry on Johnson could outscore David Johnson the rest of the way, but I would I would put the odds in the favor of David Johnson. He's still the bell cow workhorse and he's hyper. David Johnson is more talented than kerryon Johnson here is a great one from Twitter, Tyler on Twitter says, are you selling high on Odell Beckham, junior after the big week, I got a trade off her for him yesterday Emmanuel. Sanders in Tyler Lockett for Odell Beckham junior high. What do you think? No, no, no, no, no, no. That's not selling high. If you sell it on on selling high on auto. Beckham means trading them to a giants fan who's like, I knew it was the best one for the league and you go and you get Antonio Brown or something, you know, you know, I, yeah, I have some some thoughts here. I think we should discuss them together because Odell Beckham junior, like let me lay this out. Jason is the owner of Antonio Brown in our league of record? Yes. And I am though to about junior owner. The is also true and I also am the saquon Barkley owner. And so I have an interest to swap one of my giants out. You don't want all in on the giants often. I'm not as interested in being all in on giant. Now, what I do like about, I will say this for those of you that have that stack, which a lot of you do. I'm there's an advantage to being on a team that is going to be playing through to the end of the season. Like I look at that say they're playing through week seventeen. They're not changing the quarterback out. They've already come out and said that this Manning's team because they're playing for the number one, pick sure whatever. The thing is, and I told Jason this because he was concerned about the fact that look Odell is gonna have in dynasty league a new quarterback next year Odell Beckham junior was just paid a thousand truckloads of money. He is also the whiteness player in the NFL. He also has a coach that is sitting there, consoling him after every play and saying, it's going to be okay, Odell. He gets his no matter what that is. My true belief about junior and the stats Baird out. He's the fourth or third or fourth highest touches per game in the entire NFL. This past week, he had a very big game and the targets and the receptions, and those things are there. So to me, I don't think there's a lot of risk with a player like that. That is. So he's so he's paid so much. He demands so much. What do you guys think about that? And we're talking long term or just the Sawyer? I'm talking about both. I think he's great this. This is closer to what I expect from Oto Beckham move forward..

"Good luck. They healthy. Appreciate it. Well, that was awesome talking to our good friend and Tomahawk listener Tyler Lockett. What do we have up next? Go Tomahawk matchups of the week, Joey guy. Actually, it's a good week football, there's there are weeks and we're like, man, I don't wanna see any of these games. This is not one of those weeks. Joe, who's your who's your match? For the week? My matchup with the week is actually Tom Brady the bears defense. The bears defense was looking like the class of the NFL just about the whole season. And then all of a sudden last week they had a little bit of a slip up and they turned Brock Osweiler into Tom Brady, which was pretty interesting because we all know the history of Brock osweiler's career, and we saw him in Cleveland I end. So I'm not going to say he's the next time Brady, but the bears have a chance at redemption. They got an opportunity to prove that they're still one of the best defense in the league. If they can shut down a red hot, Tom Brady, and the New England defense, they may have to do it with a little bit of hobbled Khalil Mack, he's got an injury, but if he's able to get on there. On the field. He's able to go against a week, right? Tackle group that the patriots have. And even though Tom Brady always makes his offense in line look, really good Khalil. Mack has a chance to really cement his legacy. This season maybe become the defensive player of the year if he's able to harass and beat up and sack, Tom Brady a ton of times this week which if he plays, he will do, Tom Brady is gonna dice the Chicago defense like a Brazilian hibachi restaurant while Brazilian of resilient, zillion steakhouses where it's unlimited meets. Yeah. So we're gonna mix them autograph resilient, her body rachi. That's how much it's going to dice him up. It's not even gonna also if you could make Brock Osweiler look like a pro bowler Lynn adult. I don't wanna hear anything about your opportunities. You're going to have what Tom Brady he's going to baptize their souls on national television. All right. Well, who's your match up of the magic of the week? Said's versa ravens. We had Luke mccown on last week talking about the greatness that is drew Brees. You just broke the all time passing yards record. I think he's close to the t. record to I don't know how far away he is if he hasn't already gotten net, but he's facing the ravens defense. It was number one in the league and they are looking like the ravens defensive old. They'd had their lapses throughout season. But overall they've been really consistent. They sack mariota eleven times last week in the only way to get drew. Brees uncomfortable is putting pressure on the Browns did earlier this year. I think the ravens are going to do that too. That's my match up. I wanna see what breeze does against ravens defense. If you can kind of keep this hot streak going, which I was gonna pick one right now. I'd say the ravens wanna give him held this week, aren't hawk, what game are you looking forward to watching this weekend? And I'm gonna tell you what the game that I'm really looking forward to watching is Cowboys. Redskins NFC east old school match of Cowboys. All of a sudden came back from the dead. They gave their best Lazarus impression trying to save Jason GARRETT'S job, and they put forty on the board last week. They're going against the Redskins team who's hot also just whipped up on the Panthers who I've always been kind of a Panthers fan. I think they're one of the maybe overlooked teams in the NFL right now. So you got to teams that are playing really good. All of a sudden they're kind of surging in the NFC east and it'd be really fun to watch and see what happens. I think they're very balanced team. It could be a close when that comes on the wire. I like that matchup we talked about the Redskins last week, have an answer back. They got lack by the saints and Josh Norman actually play with the well..

"You know the other main you remember when you the GM is how much money you spend positions. Oh, okay. True. True. Now, operate with a salary cap. A man might be ready ready, and you can't afford them. That's the hardest part like so. I mean, you gotta pick and choose how much you wanna be able to spend the third place in the thing about it. Everybody that both of us pay, they are going to get paid a lot and some point, whatever they get to that end of the third year, which I think the two that I remember that they're years right now and they're gonna get paid up. I believe it the way that they're playing. And so that's the hardest part. That's why I'm glad I'm player right now. 'cause I don't have to worry about on who I need to keep in. What I gotta do is just like I go out there and play, make it fun. Like I've been doing as a kid. But when you get to that gym, but. Say that she got sleep ball and she got in trying to figure out. And when you when you end up paying one one position as real big, figure out what's going to be the short term in other positions like the, you wanna pay your db a lot, or do you want to pay alignment list or do you wanna pay alive? Yeah, bigger out our Tyler, John Snyder, Tyler Lockett is a free agent what contract you are. We can't. We can't do that. You said you're talking about being the GM which number talented, once we get the oil man, you know, serves it Pro Bowl the NFL. Where do we start the bidding at? You? Ain't got to tell us what number you want. Where do we start the negotiation at Tyler. I couldn't even tell you I, I'm just played. That's when my agent is fold. Oh, I do it. We gotta start it. Negotiation start at eight point five. We work from there. We start at eight point. Five, listen, you started there. I really that's more money than I ever had. Anything that I didn't have a win. It's a matter age saying, no, no, this is this is where we should be in the you'd be like, all right, who, but the thing though you gotta take your mind to like, and you decide to wait, you know, a lot of people bet on and it works out her cheaply. They do great. Only go get paid on that money and stuff like that. And then you got some people who decide to say, you know what? I wanna take that chance. I'm willing to take this because you know, I'm gonna be set my family going to be sick. You had a generational will on that type of stuff. And so I mean something that you you think about it, you just try to make the best decision, but at the same, you gotta ask yourself like, yeah, they're unlock millions, make a difference, but how much won't be enough for you? You know what? That's very true and I'll say this and I'll let you go man, but we do Johnson running back with the Cleveland Browns. He signed a contract this offseason that was five million. There was one point that was the leading receiver on the team. On a bunch of balls, bunch of yards. And people were like talking on Twitter, talking heads saying how he was stupid for taking that year before he had free agency. He's he could have gotten more of the Browns beat him, and it was exactly what you talked about that was life changing money for Duke in this situation. Any time to come back at the table. If you look seasons, played out, he hasn't gotten the touches that people expected them to because they had Carlos Hyde there. They drafted Nick Chubb a running back in. So the touches have been scared in adding sign that who's to say that his market would even be that because he hasn't even been able to show that in his contract years, though it was one of those things like you said, you can better yourself or in sometimes it's smart, take the bird in the hand, and I think that's what do get. And that's what you're talking about. Two on my team, no doubt if I'm your agent again, we're starting to bid that eight and a half. We're going for them. We're not selling it for nothing else, Tyler. We appreciate you joining out man. I know probably I'm guessing day you too. Man. Keep killing season..

"He ends up just going to other receivers. Usually he just doesn't try and push the envelope there. So I like communist game. I still love Toronto Allison, but I feel Cobb, I feel they both could be good options. Honestly, I feel though. Next one for me Royce Freeman against Kansas City. I have such mixed feelings on this. Yeah, I have him in the rare fantasy league last week. Thirteen carries fifty three yards and touchdown after Philip Lindsay, God ejected. And what we learned from that is not so much that they're competing against one another as much as they really just seem determined to divide them into some a true committee. And the guy is gonna get a certain split and they're going to roll with who seems to be reading the blocks best and that's good and had it's annoying because it's kind of like, wow, voice is not going to be the three guy. You probably envisioned when you got him. But at the same time, there also seems to be a floor built in. We're Philip Lindsay is not gonna just usurp him and get his job week seven and you're just gonna have this useless Royce Freeman, you have to cut or trade. So I'm in very, begrudgingly. Are you not worried about a game script on this one? I am for sure because the chiefs are probably going to be up. But at the same time, I still think, look, if they're trying to score, I still think there'll be red zone opportunities. He's going to be able to get. I would throw him at flex, but very, like, I'm not excited about it. Next guy, Tyler Lockett Seahawks at Arezzo China. You know, we talked about Brandon Marshall before lock. It is kind of emerged as the guy I think to go with in this in the Seahawks passing game. Now the the question is, will Doug Baldwin play this week because he's practicing today. He says he's ready to go. So that is kind of a factor here. I'm in on lock it, but it kind of depends on what happens with Doug Baldwin. Keep keep Baldwin status in mind on Saturday Sunday morning or whatever. See how that goes. I think if Baldwin's out he's a surefire start, if not, I'm a little less confident about it. Probably be out if Baldwin plays. I don't. I'm not worried about Baldwin even if he does play because so what happened with him in week, one was see kind of hurt that knee. He'd been dealing with another. Injury, hurt the other knee in the game, stayed in the game, and he should've came out, but he's a tough dude. He, I don't think he'd ever missed a game before that I could be wrong, but he had a very long stretch of never missing time. And I think remember they won't be trying to reactivate this or make anything worse in the game. I think they'll be very cautious with him. Yeah, that's fair. Aren't, you know, we're gonna do some star gazing. These are the star players keeping up at night. There's actually not that many this week. There's a lot of good matchups. We almost talked about his Crowell which is how deep we scraped the bottom of the barrel this week, the only person really. I think that caught her eye. This week was j. Colorado. I JJ. We're going to get the titans. He's been dealing with a back injury, poke in back. In fact, that's that just sounds found. So this is kind of more of an approach about how you pro- injured running backs in general, and just a good matchup. So my thinking here is he's gonna play in the questions paint tolerance, which is kind of like the last thing you wanna hear. I think the eagles are good enough deep enough that if they're winning by lot, they're probably not going to be a situation where they're gonna force them out there if they have to at the same time, my senses aja, even in a limited role, getting limited times, probably better than what you have on your bench. I'm still rolling with them. What do you think decay? Yeah..

"The Seahawks have signed Tyler Lockett, two, eight, three year contract extension, and you feel about that. I feel not nearly as good as if it had been. They've extended Earl, Thomas. Sure. Tyler Lockett is good. He had he had an off year last year largely because he was still recovering from the broken leg. That ended his twenty sixteen season. So I'm hopeful that you know he's going to return to full speed and be a useful contributor to them. He's a very good receiver. I think he's underrated since since that injury, you know, kind of like derailed his his progression, but you know, all pro kick returner rookie year. I'm I'm, I'm into it. And I haven't seen the numbers, but like three more years of Tyler Lockett. Sounds good to me. Sure. Certainly, they could use another receiver next and I've forgotten your history with Tyler Lockett. You didn't like the draft capital that they gave up for him? Well, given how good the Seahawks drafted over the years they didn't need the extra picks, obviously actually feel. I think that they are. They're just horrible in the first round and a half, and like they're actually pretty good in the third round and beyond. And so I think that there's just like, hey, we're awesome at drafting. Fifth rounders, seventh rounders though we gotta get rid of these first round pick so we can get more late round picks because that's where the good players are. But you remember they traded with third or fourth, fifth and sixth round pick and then Tyler Lockett, jury. So yeah, and they got him in the fourth round, right? Fifth, third around their third round pick though to be fair Washington US. Those picks on Matt Jones. Ari Quanzhou Damian swan and. To show injure k. y. s. h. e. n. it's another theme I haven't set out that before. So. The four guys who did not make much of an impact in Washington metro was pretty bad, so I don't think they must have much there. Yeah, no. And again, with with late round picks the Seahawks are always acquiring more of those from letting talented free agents walk and trading back out of the first round. So energy. But what the Seahawks are good at it. They trail the first round makes sense. It was awesome. And I mean, like I would rather have them trade back out of the first round, then trade a first rounder for who they believed to be the next superstar because that has gone considerably worse. Actually, I, it's hard to say considerably worse, like what's what was more damaging to the team like drafting or trading for Percy Harbin or trading back and eventually drafting Alamo legally, they're damaging in different ways. Loopy tolerance did not cost like they did not give him an enormous extension on the process as well. Yes, yes, that's true. And they also in draft in in trading back before drafting Malinche McDowell, they also acquired four more picks one of whom is they're starting running back entering the season. So. Anyway, this is this is life as the Seahawks fan. It's like I'm looking for silver linings left and right, very energetic time to be as the hawks fan. Let's finish up with this one through one trade in there and the guy who came out. Very surprising. Andrew luck. Andrew luck was traded, which I guess is not your radically out on the question but would seem exceedingly difficult to pull off, but maybe the colts like Jacoby percent. Andrew luck. Suddenly size doesn't want to be in Indianapolis and take quite Leonard situation. Perhaps Andrew luck was treated at the week, six deadline to and for what. I, I mean, like the this is just wishful film into this point. But like what I've wanted for years now is like trading him to the Jaguars like the way the colts organization is like that team deserves Blake Bortles, whereas a life the way that like I would like to see Andrew luck with an actual team around him, but it just seems highly unlikely that he would go to a division rival that they could like be torched by Jalen Ramsey and Andrew luck on both sides of the ball twice. Even though I like that fit very much. So where whose quarterback needy bike could the could the giants deal for Andrew luck after Eli manning suffers? He wouldn't. He'll he'll never get injured. Of course, he li- manning all-time great, never gets injured..
