At first I was thinking who's around me. And I felt myself stumbled a little bit after the stiff arm. And that was thinking, who do I pitch it to that? I was just trying to, you know, keep the ball alive. It's when I stayed up, I just turned the jets on and the rest was history. Derek Carr was 20 of 38 for 231 yards and three touchdowns. The Bengals Buccaneers game in Tampa matched two division leaders led by two marquee quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Joe burrow. Nope, I said it in the off season. There's a great show that you should watch on ESPN on 8 a.m. it's called get up and you could really get educated and I'm the only one everybody else in America is gonna pay Baker Mayfield and there's things to like about baker, but we know that this is the varsity level racks. You know what as well as anybody. And Baker Mayfield by NFL standards is short and slow. He's going to get hurt. It's just physics, it's math. You can not pay him. You're much better off having someone like case Keenum or colt McCoy at a much more reasonable number. I was the one guy that I felt like the browns were going to be better, but I was, oh, I never thought they were had a high ceiling because Kevin Stefanski was always going to have to scheme passing lane for him. He does a great job with the boots, the rollouts, and he's a very accurate passer. He's very tough, but he's going to keep getting hurt Rex because he can't outrun people..

"On with more pass catchers as we continue with more sketchers a quick note to clean up the bucks in. Kyle did tell me that. Mike evans ran fifty routes in week one. Okay thirty-six for antonio brown so while antonio brown was far more efficient. That's the reason why i still have. V fourteen routes. What is it about forty percent more than antonio brown. Yeah that to me is a notable figure. I agree that factors into why haven't ranked ahead of brown for at least one more week. Here's a really interesting player though. Matthew tyler boyd who i know is one of your favorite players value is wide receiver. Coming into the was one. I have a wide receiver forty-six this weekend at wide receiver. Thirty six. it's a good matchup better matchup against the bears and it was. I don't know they had. They had the vikings defense for the most part last week. But i think it's probably a slightly better match against the bears and it was against the vikings but there were a couple of indicators last week that had my raider up a little bit on taylor boy what do you think would you see. I think about how you attack. The bears defense i think about what the rams did with cooper cut my little cooper cup also slot player right. Tyler boyd works out of the slot here. I think i'm not scared of the bears defense. And i think they'll be successful throwing out of the slot again. They're going to be paying a lot of attention to march in this one and and they will definitely fair on both of those tyler boyd. Last week three catches thirty two yards just four targets. Now i went back and looked at this. And i think it's unfair in some regards because they had a much different quarterback situation for the last stretch of last year. But if my memory is correct one touchdown in this final. Eight games are sorry last. Seven games last year plus opening week this year. and that's probably the reason why like the volumes. Got to be really good for tyler boyd. Because just touched on equity no-doubt. That's part of the reason why when he was being rated in the preseason he was outside the top thirty of wide receivers he was still a top fifteen fantasy wide receiver in all the games he played with. Joe borough all the full games that he played with with joe borough last year and it's not working them crazy crazy. I've met thirty six right But i do have significantly higher than you daniel. Both of you guys have him in the mid forties again. Some specific numbers here matthew stafford when ten thirteen hundred twenty five yards and a touchdown when throwing to the slot against the bears last week my expectation endless came in the one. The one big cooper cup play but still tyler board this week if you're looking if you're looking for a wide receiver in the thirty to forty range. I like tyler boyd. Yeah the only thing. I'll say about tyler. Boyden cooper cup is you're right. They both play from the slot. But there are like very different tires flyers right so and i know you said that but just to reaffirm like so. I'm a little bit less optimistic on teller boyd. I've got him at wide receiver forty six and maybe what that means is that if he's ranked outside the top forty consistently matthew the fantasy value. Maybe it's just sort of gone evaporate if it would have been a bad call by a lot of victory lapping that when i take an l. We'll see because. I was in on tyler. Boy this preseason. There's no question about that. I was big in on him. So we'll see so far off to a bad start. Yeah so he did as you know he. He's been effectiveness lot. He's still playing a lot. They're still gonna play a wide receiver sets would be. Perhaps there's just much more upside with bullets marchese. And of course t higgins devante. Smith had a great week last week for the eagles. Here's a target in the middle of the field that beats coverage routinely it will never be double coverage of its zone. He can find pockets to get open. He'll pick up lots of targets. He did that plenty of times. I believe he had fifteen. Pr points in six of ten games with borough last year. I can double check that. When i am done talking but i think there is potential for tyler boyd. To have one of his best seasons ever with the bengals catching those easy short passes building up his numbers. Npr and finishing not as a number three receiver. Adam but as a number two top twenty one at that. I'll tell you what is in the his first. Nine games with borough. Borough got hurt in the tenth game. Tyler boyd was sixteenth per game. Sixteen per game in full. Pr twenty per game in non pr and boyd. I'll just get the tenth game in where we're borough played. You know half yeah. He was on pace for twelve hundred yards. I believe in those ten games. Sorry eleven thirty six in those ten years. He's only ninety. Four games borough at twenty one fantasy points or more boyd at at least eighteen. Npr this is the this is one of my favourite round six seven picks to tape going t boy going. I don't think i don't well you don't of him around six but where i'm happy to take. Yeah but you don't have to because on cbs. He's ninety four so bs see where he is in fantasy prose consensus. Stupid beat writer speculation hop performances at camp where in preseason games whatever we are making changes for what we think actually matters. Check all that out in the draft. Let's begin with a risers from the last seven days. Antonio brown is up about five spots across the industry up to seventy four th overall on underdog from seventy ninth. I've been lower than leoni and silva on antonio brown. Because i think he's legit their third third-best wide receiver at this point in his career. And i think the team the bucks actually function better with a true burner in that number three wide receiver role not antonio brown but we do have the roommate narrative working here. Tom brady absolutely loves antonio brown low story into when he's on. The field targets per outrun is out of control so they're standalone value here which i get plus the upside. If one of godwin's or mike evans were to go down still as his adp climbs. I prefer deebo samuel. Coralline sutton tyler. Boyd levinsky chenault michael gallup. I prefer those guys over antonio brown personally. But i wouldn't know. Kill anyone for taking him in that range. Next reiser is aj dylan and this has been one of my favorites all summer. I was just taking. Aj dillon every time in the tenth eleventh twelfth round just easy pick in these wide receiver heavy builds that i like to make and you know. They're standalone value in asia in asia dylan for sure very good talent. Massive upside if something were to happen to aaron jones he's up to ninety fifth overall on underdog now but we are still ahead of. Adp on aj dylan still love it. Speaking of guys that we've been on who are now creeping up. higher tower. Boyd is up five to seven spots. Michael gallup is up four to six spots across the industry. I still like tyler boyd. A lot that slot role in the bengals offense is going to see a ton of volume. I think at edp. Tyler boyd is the best bengals receiver to take now. Although marceca's adp is sinking a decent amount. Like i prefer jr chase in the middle of the fifth verse. Boyd early seventh. But i think it's close as for michael gallup so he was a no brainer when he was going into eighth or ninth round now that he's going as early as the sixth and mostly seventh. You know it's tougher for me on michael gallup. I was encouraged that in the latest. Preseason game dal gallup was moved into the slot on six of his ten snaps the only way he pays off this adp spike if he moves around more. I just feared that when the chips are down for dallas gallup is going to play the role. He played last year boundary wide receiver running clear out routes. And i love gallup. But you know cd. Lambs better amari. Cooper is better and so there's definitely some risks there as his. Adp spikes last riser. I'm gonna talk about as marquess away so much. Marquez calloway buzz. He's up like fifty spots in the last seven days up to one hundred and thirty eighth on. Nfc hundred and forty third on underdog. I think it's fine but again. I'm not convinced any of calloway. trae smith. Deontay harris is going to emerge. And i think this offense is going to be slow as i talked about with thornton and bad again. They're going to try to rely on coaching offensive line. Defense to try to squeeze out like nine wins and that's great. It's just not great for fantasy. So i think calloway's a fine flyer. I'm just not too excited about it. Let's get to the followers and speaking of the saints. The biggest faller. This week is michael. Thomas we've talked a ton about this already talked so many times about it. I don't wanna spend a lot of time. He's now down in. The nineties sometimes follows even into the hundreds in drafts again. Understand your format if you have. Irr if it's best ball where it's hard to make the next round and then you have time really top heavy payouts and it makes a difference at this point though in most formats. I think. Michael thomas is just a headache i would let someone else deal with. Dak prescott is down about five spots across industry. I personally don't think back has nearly the same ceiling as the patrick mahomes. Cuyler murray josh allen lamar jackson's he just doesn't run enough for that and last year. I know everybody's extrapolating dak stats from last year the game environments that dak got himself in the game flows. Were so absurd. Dow's was down literally twenty to thirty points for most of those games. The defense will be better this year. So you know. I think dax attempts are going to go down and can't just extrapolate last year. So i think you know dax. Adp is likely dropping here because the shoulder concern. That's not why would job for me. That's silly to me. His shoulder is going to be fine. Jay glazer confirmed it. But i still think that if we don't get one of cuyler josh allen lamar jackson than waiting for the hurts tannahill trae lance justin fields types is better last fall ours rashad bateman and is a tough injury retry bateman is going to have core muscles surgery. Miss six to eight weeks. Obviously the context here is that he was already in the nfl's most run heavy offense with an inconsistent thrower and lamar jackson. That was already in issue now. We have this injury to rashad abatement. I think we can do better with our late. Round flyers than rashad bateman. I'm working on favorite flyers right now. We'll have some more ideas for you guys in the draft kit of who to take late as for what i'm watching going forward. I expect a lot of the preseason usage stuff to move the market miles. Gaskin is gonna take a huge hit. I was already out on miles. Gaskin for reasons. I'll discuss with civil later today. Trae lance justin feels are gonna rise. Unfortunately rundown more is going to rise. There's some antonio gibson concerns now. There's big trautmann concerns now. I'll talk to silva about all these in the next episode. Understand that in the eleven weeks that joe borough played weeks one through eleven guy ever sixteen point two fantasy points per game. he's wide receiver. Fourteen was wide receiver fourteen. And and you and you say. Okay maybe joe. Borough isn't as good as he was last year because he's recovering from the sale that the offensive line is bannon advantage. Amar chase maybe target chairs in there for tyler board but there's a wide along drop from wide receiver fourteen to wide receiver. Thirty eight. because. I don't think anything that you said about tyler boyd. This year is different than what he had last year. Right so tomorrow. As i get it but like like we still think there's going to be a ton of volume like if he's throwing forty times a game like there's going to be enough for all three of those guys so i think we. We agree that. Tyler boyd is a very good player and certainly joe borough and him had a connection last year. Joe borough if you go back to what he was doing college and you think last year he likes thrown to the slot whereas with whether it was just jefferson and lsu or tyler boy last year like he likes throwing the slot and so i don't a guy who led the team in red zone targets from borough last year i know jomar chase wasn't there but still like i don't know i just to me. I'm not ready to go. Amphay a guy. That's top twenty potential. Which i think he does. I mean he was wide receiver fourteen last year. Right under borough guy that that that the solid top twenty type guy at wide receiver thirty eight. Which is where he's going. I'm in. I didn't realize who's going that low in drafts..

What happens then. Well if you if you're offensive line good you're still going to be at least competitive and if you can bully other teams which is something the bengals so seldom do and i really want them to do it. It's very personal thing. I have to say but you know if the bengals when they were at their best in the years that we've talked about the glory years nineteen eighty eight and two thousand five and twenty fifteen. They bullied other teams up front. That to me is where you want to get back to was will the guy to do that. Maybe maybe not you have that discussion. You look at the tape and you decide whether or not he is the guy that there. But i think the overall point is what you want to do is do as much as you can to get that offensive line. Not just decent but powerful strengthen your team and then if you can do that everything else kind of flows from there and you don't have to draft a player quite the quality of jomar chase in that top five slot. They're all extremely successful High ceiling type of players boy may not have the same type of ceiling that the other two have just based on what you've seen from them Whether it's college or for higgins in his rookie season but His floor is pretty safe. You know three years in a row at least seventy six catches coming into this year so he should be able to do that and You know ninety catches as well within reach But you just have to wonder if boroughs going to lean on his buddy a little bit more knowing the relationship he has with jay's he's going to go a little bit more in the direction t higgins knowing what he did last year. So this is this to me. This is the type of team. It's like the steelers it's What team we're talking about yesterday. That also has the cowboys tower. The other one of these offenses you just wait out. The third guy and boy does definitely going to be the guy you know. So that's the fun part about it. Is that jason is gonna be the first one drafted most likely higgins is going to be the second one in my opinion being a little bit too underrated because of the addition of tomorrow's and then boy does also being underrated just based on what he's done and what israel should be so I love getting tyler boyd. "Just chain their offense completely is going to be difficult for markey's brown to be that type of fantasy wide receiver until one. If you guys each of you had to project the number of targets per game marquess brown would get this year. What number would that be six assists six to seven. I would say okay well. In those eight games last year he was averaging a tad more than seven per game. And i mean like he basically was at seven per game so yeah. Of course that you're talking about last six regular season plus plus two postseason. Yeah and you take those eight games. And dave already did the math but just to give you the numbers again. You take those eight games and just multiply by two and sixteen games. It was one hundred and fourteen target pace. It was thousand sixty eight yards and twelve touchdowns. He he is i. It's really weird. I look at him so similarly to mark andrews just obviously they played different positions but he's played thirty eight markets. Proudest played thirty games in his career. He has fewer than fifty yards in twenty of thirty games. He has fewer than thirty yards in twelve of thirty games more than a third less than thirty yards. He has fewer than ten yards in five games. But then in the postseason That's he's got three games in the postseason three. All three games eighty seven more yards and he averages eleven point nine yards per target in three postseason game seven point nine in the regular season. I don't know if that means nothing over his career seventh. Yes seven point nine in the regular season in thirty games. Eleven point nine in the postseason in three games. It's only three games. But he shows glimpses. I think of of what he can do. But it's hard to stay consistent with his raw numbers may be the top twenty four days predicting him to be. It's going to be like tyler lock. You have some big weeks where he's great. You know have some weeks where he just like. Why am i starting this guy. And that's the frustration of a clear like just. Aren't there insist the difference being obviously that everybody's going to continue to start tyler lockett when he goes through rough patches because he's capable of putting johnson a game. Yeah maybe maybe that was the first time people really finally started to get away from tyler lockett. I think it's a lot easier to get away from markey's battle. I like comparing the two. I like lock it better. Yeah i mean. And i get what you're saying that just the the ups and downs of of these types of receivers. I'm hoping they'll be a little bit more consistent than tyler lockett. Just maybe not necessarily the full year today. Total said laugh but the thing about markey's brown that is great is like you said adams. I do not have it ranked this way as of now but it is something. I'm considering in fact the next two bold predictions this one and the next one. I'm thinking about making those changes in making them. Actually reflect the my rankings. I think that's how bold predictions ultimately should be last six games of the regular season ad in the playoff games. That's eight games. Thirty seven catches five hundred and thirty four yards and six touchdowns the ravens brought him in a little bit. His average depth of target was a lot shorter. He ran more crossing route state. Use those crossing routes in the red zone and it clicked for him. He had a lot of good numbers. You basically take those numbers from the last eight games at double and you had a little bit six percent more on top of it. Because they're seventeen games and you projects out to over eleven hundred yards and twelve touchdowns sounds crazy. How could he get twelve touchdowns will if he's used the same way. I think the opportunity is there. We know the ribbons want to be more effective throwing the football. Certainly once they do that they're officiency will go up throwing the football. They have dressed in free agency with sammy. Watkins they had a rashad bateman. I still think brown is the best receiver in this offense. I still think he can make big plays. I'm hoping that in his magical third year things click for him. You can drop them as a number three receiver. But he's got a chance to sneak into the top twenty four in large part because of the schedule that they had to begin the season. It's great through the first nine weeks. It's the second half there toward the end. A little bit of the regular season. That i think you'd get a little nervous to use them. So right them out for the first eight nine weeks the season and then flip them if he can assuming he has the year that i think he's going to have the good news is you can draft him as a number four wide receiver. A.J. Green's injury on 'subpar' Bengals practice field will cost wide receiver up to two months
"Speaking of injuries unfortunately an M._r._i.. Has revealed that Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver A._J.. Green has torn ligaments in his left. Ankle is according affording to Schefter here. They are likely to sideline green six to eight weeks up really not a good situation and teammate Tyler Boyd questioned the turf. The team was practicing on when green was injured. It was terrible. I couldn't run any routes out there. I'm falling all over the ground man it was it was bad. It was rocks pebbles out there man it was somewhere we should have been just feel like the turf was old. You know it just wasn't we didn't get good traction in and out of her breaks. You know a lot of guys not just me was on the ground but I mean who wasn't up there that long but there's gotTa make a word man. We gotta get it well. The turf was that welcome stadium at the University of Dayton where the bengals are practicing coach you buy this well. I haven't seen the video really in this instance probably not but I will say that you know feel. Surfaces are very very important for player safety. You know whether it's a grass field you know what is the old school latch with Pittsburgh steelers.
