South African president appoints judge to oversee weapons-for-Russia inquiry
"The South African president Cyril ramaphosa has appointed a judge to oversee an inquiry into allegations the country supplied arms to Russia. The U.S. ambassador to South Africa claims weapons and ammunition were loaded onto a Russian flagged cargo ship that secretly docked at a naval base near Cape Town in December last year, ambassador Ruben brickett indicated that the allegations were based on U.S. intelligence and that he would bet his life on the accuracy of his claim. The container carrying ship named lady R is already under U.S. sanctions for being tied to a company that has transported weapons to aid the Russian war effort in Ukraine, South Africa has denied there was any government sanctioned deal to provide weapons to Russia, although it hasn't categorically ruled out that an unofficial transaction took place involving another entity. The South African president's office says the panel has 6 weeks to complete its investigations and another two weeks from then to provide a report to ramaphosa. I am Lawrence Brooks

Turkey's Erdogan turns away reform-minded challenger to win another term
"In Istanbul, residents are reacting to the news that Turkish president Recep Tayyip has won a third term in office over one secured more than 52% of the vote in Sunday's presidential runoff against kemal khali, two weeks after he falls short of securing an outright victory in the first round. We won, we won, says one resident. Erdoğan is a fighter, we finally won. But not everyone in the Turkish capital is celebrating. One resident says our expectation was to have new blood to have someone new come. However, this did not happen. I am disappointed. That is what I can tell you. Sam Altman's Crypto Project Worldcoin Raises $115M
"We love talking about WorldCoin. It's really surging into the headlines in recent weeks, largely around the hype and interest relating to artificial intelligence, AI. Now, word of this raise had been leaked a little bit. According to sources, this is going to be in the works and enough. Today, they announced that they've raised $115 million in a funding round led by Blockchain Capital and involving A16Z, Bain, Capital Crypto and others. Let's talk about WorldCoin. I think this is less a bet on the value of another coin and more a bet on the importance of systems that may counteract the rise of AI. That's very much a big part of what is being announced here by Blockchain Capital in a post written by Spencer Bogart. He talks about this proof of personhood concept as being the real secret sauce behind this project as the AI rises up. I'm going to toss this one straight to Jen for her initial thoughts. WorldCoin certainly been in the news quite a bit of late. What do you make of its most recent back end? $115 million. This is crazy. I feel like we haven't spoken about a raise this big. In at least a year, maybe we have all the days just kind of blend together for me. But Zach, you're right. I think about two weeks ago, we spoke about this new product that they launched that offered up a solution for authenticating humans in the age of AI through this biometric retina scanning orb. I think it's really interesting how they've been able to pull their narrative together. Now they're offering a solution to an issue that we've been discussing as AI accelerates faster and faster. They also have this crypto wallet that's part of their product that's supposed to be this really stripped down, much simpler way to hold your coins and store your assets. I think that they've developed a really interesting narrative, especially given what's going on in the news right now with wallets and AI. They have some big backers here. They have A16Z. I think I saw Bank Capital there. I think that they probably were able to craft a really compelling story, get that in front of VCs and raise this money. I think it's a strong and good bet for VCs who are waiting out the bear

Rejecting the "Spirit of Timidity" With Eric Metaxas
"Do you feel as if the church is getting more courageous or less courageous over the last year, year and a half? Well, Romans 8 28, all things work together for good for those that love the lord and call according to his purposes. What does it mean? It means that as things get more and more and more obviously horrible and openly satanic, the good news is that's what it takes to wake up some people who otherwise would continue to sleep forever and have been asleep forever. When you see things getting this bad, fill in the dots. I mean, fill in the blanks. You know what those things are everywhere we look. It's disaster. It is open evil. That is finally waking some people up. And the reason I keep saying that I wrote the book letter to the American church is to reason with the person who isn't already there to say like, what do you say to this? Most people who read the book they get convicted, they realize, you know what? I just hadn't heard this. I live in an America where we don't, we don't mix faith in politics and I didn't understand I had this preposterous inoculation against the idea of it. And I avoid people like Charlie Kirk and Eric, I've avoided you because you've gotten too political. They're completely theologically wrong. If you can persuade them, wait a minute. Can you take another look at this? Often they're convicted. And then they say, what can I do? And the first thing I say is either give the book to your pastor and say, I want to talk to you about this in two weeks. And if they are not interested in it for the love of God, find another church. Do not continue going to and giving to a church that is looking the other way because you are being complicit in evil. Globalist atheist monsters are aggressively trying to take over this nation in the world, and if you look the other way, if you do nothing, all those who suffer are suffering because of your inaction and your silence, the church has to understand, we have unique responsibility and calling from God. It ought to be a privilege for us to do something about it.

Unpacking the Royals With Alex Clark and Jobob
"A lot of topics that I want to cover here. And it was funny. When we were in the break, we were talking about what we were going to start with first. And there's a ton of options on the table. And of course, Alex Clark said, I don't want to talk about the queen's court or the king's coronation. Because I don't know anything about the British stuff. And so I immediately thought then we're starting with the coronation. Of course. So Joe bob, why don't you fill us in? So King Charles is now King Charles. He's been crowned. He was the king already. And I think this is interesting too because my wife and I were just in London for like a week like two weeks ago and everybody was prepped with the coronation. Now the coronation is happening may 6th and isn't the coronation gonna be so grand. It was funny, all of our tour guides in London were saying, well, the king will walk down this road and the king will do this and I could I couldn't help but think the entire time and maybe this just makes me a patriot American who cares. I do not understand why anybody cares so much about the king of a foreign country and this whole idea of running society as a democracy. The idea of a monarch and king, I don't get it. Well, I mean, that part of it is really not the controversial part. I mean, you and I had a disagreement in the break. Yeah. I think there's a place for the royals and the monarchy as an institution in England. I think it's good when a country holds up these institutions that have history and tradition built into them that the people know and love and look up to. The queen was the great. There's a lot of people in this audience that think the queen was this globalist shill and she was actually working with the rockefellers and all this stuff. I don't know anything about this. All I'm saying, all I'm saying is that she comported herself with dignity, respect. She honored the church and the Church of England, the tradition that was handed down to her. She was a steward of she looked at her family as something to be protected and from the British tabloid press. Now, Joe bob comes at it from a different angle. You don't like it, do you very much? Oh. You know why? 'cause I'm an American. Okay, but here's what I don't understand. And I feel like there's a piece that I'm missing here. It seems to me like the English aren't that excited about this coronation and stuff either. Is that because they all hold a grudge against him for cheating on Princess Diana forever ago, or what's the problem? I think that well, Joe bob, what's your take? No, I don't know if I'd call myself an expert or anything. But when I was there, everybody was excited about it. That was

Disney updates lawsuit against DeSantis to add new events
"Disney has amended its free speech lawsuit against Florida governor Ron DeSantis. Those agreements would have given Disney control over design and construction at Disney World, the amended lawsuit says Disney is the only company affected by the new legislation. He chose to go to Ireland over taking a trip to attend the king's coronation, which is coming up this next week. And he said, they're going to be too close back to back. I don't think I'll have the energy to do both. I'll go to Ireland. He prioritized Ireland over going to Great Britain and seeing the king, which is at what? Once in a century type of event, I mean, Queen Elizabeth lasted a really, really long time. I don't think King Charles is going to last nearly as long. And the special relationship between the UK and the United States and all the things that go along with that and we're not going to have the president in attendance at the coronation of the king. "DoJ won a battle to get full testimony from pat cipollone and pat philbin to former White House counsel who had raised some sort of executive privilege objection. Now, Trump may well appeal that. But of course, the bigger development is that two weeks ago, Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel, which is a former federal prosecutor, a guy named Jack Smith, who now will take charge of the investigation, make the initial recommendation about whether to indict or not, but ultimately it comes back to Merrick Garland who has to make that sort of very difficult comes up down decision. So I've been talking to some people, including some lawyers, some people like you came out of the assistant U.S. attorney's office, but then some of the district in New York, who say that that doesn't really accomplish much of anything, because you just say it comes back to Merrick Garland anyway. So what did Merrick Carlin get done by appointing the special counsel? Merrick Garland got himself a heat shield. He got himself deflection and political insulation. And I don't necessarily say that as a bad thing. I think it now enables him to say, look, here's what the rules say, and we know Merrick Garland is very much a rules follower. The rules around special counsel say, if there's a conflict of interest, then you can bring in special counsel and Garland's argument is, well, when Donald Trump announced his candidacy, that took us into new territory where you could have a conflict of interest because then you have these likely opponent or one of his likely opponents Joe Biden's Department of Justice investigating Donald Trump. So that's the sort of rationale behind it, but then it says the special counsel has to run his big decisions, including whether to indict by the AG, but the AG must give quote great weight to what the special counsel wants to do. So Merrick Garland gives him an easier way to say, well, Jack Smith did his job, came to me and said, I do or do not want to indict. And unless there's some irregularity, which I think is unlikely Garland can say, well, then I followed what the law says. I gave his determination, quote, great weight, and I deferred to him. So it gives Garland a bit of insulation and it gives him a little bit of a heat shield. And also, as I understand it, I believe at least that the grand jury, they're trying to get the evidence from the January 6th committee, special committee in the House to be given over to the grand jury. They have access to all that, which is voluminous. It appears. Yeah, there's a lot of evidence there's been an interesting little back and forth where DoJ has been for this evidence for months, and the January 6th committee is being a little closed fisted. They've been parceling it out piece by piece. And they haven't given it all over. We know that because Merrick Garland made a public statement to days ago where in response to one of the questions he said something like we're hoping to get all of the evidence. So we could use it in our criminal investigation. It is all evidence that can be at least considered by DoJ. The indicators now though are now that the January 6th committee is wrapping up and its final week several committee members said

"It is my pleasure to welcome to the lead off spot. Leonard Ellerbe's, of course, the CEO of Mayweather Productions. It is here to talk about a big fight going on next Saturday. Davis Barrio Saturday. June 26. This is all going down at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. It's Javonte Tank Davis against Mario LS Tecca. Barrios Leonard. How are you, Man? Welcome to the show. Oh, great. Thank you for having me on today. I imagine you've been a busy guy man over the last couple of weeks talking about what Floyd wouldn't call so much boxing, but entertainment, right? It's not what it's all about. Almost definitely. And, uh, He had a great exhibition about, um, two weeks ago with Logan. Paul. Um they're C exhibition about the tremendous business did well over a million buys. Um, had a excellent Live gate and again, the fans were entertained. You know? Here it is. You have boys is an all time. Great. I'm one of the best fighters ever, if not the best fighter ever to lace them up taking on a, um, A Youtuber and Logan Paul. And again, I thought it was a very entertaining about Lloyd. He pressed the action from from early on and and and again, Logan Paul had made up his mind. He wanted no parts of exchange with Floyd Mayweather. So he was the bigger guy. Wait for it by like 50 plus towns on Friday night, Um, and again he was looking to grapple and to kind of what we call survive and and again, but it was very entertaining. See Floyd just attempting to, you know, create excitement, and and and again, the fans were entertained, who were in attendance and and and the millions of fans around the world who actually watched The exhibition about well and you're talking entertainment here. And when you go back to a lot of the great boxers in history, and Floyd, I think is one of them. And now you see it in in M M A game obviously is. Entertainment is certainly part of the build up to two selling those tickets, and I was one of those guys who turned it on. And now it's fun talking exhibition as an entertainment value sport because there are these exhibition fights that are going down there like not all that entertaining. I saw Lamar Odom was fighting like Aaron Carter a couple of weeks ago. Is this a whole new type of game for you or a whole new type of, uh, of fight? Building game for you and that you're trying to get entertainment value out of some of these fights. Whoa. Well, it sports is entertainment, You know, at the end at the end of the day, So what Boyd has been able to do he's been able to think outside the box. His entire career, especially when we were able to form my own promotional company. And that is one of the biggest reasons why he's been the the biggest attraction in the history of the sport. As far as generating revenue. He broke all the records. And, you know list goes on and on, but he's been able to do that, because he's been able to think outside the box and not just look at boxing. It's just not only a sport, but it's also a form of entertainment. Yeah, And I think we're seeing now. I guess the next step then are the question for you. Is this growing the fight game? Is this growing fans in the sport of boxing? Or do you think it's tainting what the sport itself means? Well, they in my In my opinion, it just brings more eyeballs to the sport and and people who people who have the negative things to say. That's just because they're not in the position to be able to pull off something like that. Here it is. Floyd has he came out of retirement for this exhibition about and it was The biggest event, the next biggest event in the last four years. And they always event being bigger than that. Was that Mike Tyson? Roy Jones, right. If you just think about that, for just one second, there hasn't been a pay per view about In the last four years in the entire sport. With the exception of the Tyson Jones about That even Did a million buys. The only thing that came close to that was the the theory. Wilder fight, right? You know when when they when they thought that the second fight, you know, But again, it just goes to show you that the incredible star power that boy has and what he's been able to bring to the sport. He still although retire, he's still the faith of the sport. You know, um, so again. I'm just very happy that when he when he goes out to do something and creates incredible interest, as as you see when he was able to just there's a million plus buys. With a youtuber doesn't hurt. It's incredible. It's incredible. You're right for a retired fighter to still be. The face of the sport is is pretty incredible. I don't think you can pinpoint any other sport where that is the case right now. Safer. Maybe maybe the NBA at one point after Michael, but even then we saw it passed along to some other athletes. We're talking, of course, the Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Productions, Let's talk a little bit about this fight going down next weekend. June 26 Devante Davis versus Barrios, two divisions. World champion Travanti Tank. David sets his sights on History and a title in a third weight class. What's the biggest challenge for him? Moving up to a third weight class against a fighter like barriers? Who's nine and O in the division? Oh, um, Barrios. He's incredibly a dangerous fighter. And, um Javonte is doing the unthinkable. You know his last fight a great Fight with Leo Santa Cruz. Um, and again, he javonte had a knockout that went viral around the world and again, So there's so many fans that are really dialed in and really excited to see him make this tremendous job.
