Fed officials signal rates may head to 'restrictive' levels

"The Federal Reserve is offering a further glimpse into its thinking on interest rates with the release of the minutes of its latest policy setting meeting I'm Ben Thomas with a look With inflation at its highest in four decades fed officials agreed they might have to raise interest rates to levels that would weaken the economy in their effort to tame it All believed the fed should raise its key rate expeditiously to a level which neither stimulates or restrains growth which officials have put at about 2.4% Many also agreed they could assess the effects of their rate hikes and adjust depending on the economy's health The minute suggests there may be a sharp debate about how quickly to tighten credit after the fed's next two meetings those are in June and July and most of the fed officials see half point increases as likely appropriate The economy has shown signs of slowing and stocks have dropped sharply since the May meeting Ben Thomas Washington

A Full Defense of '2000 Mules' With Dinesh D'Souza

"Is taking the world by storm. The number 2000 mules dot com into the dinesh d'souza film research done by true the vote. We just had an unbelievable event. With dinesh here in Phoenix, Arizona. It was like 2000 people for 2000 mules, and with us right now to kind of give an update on how the film is doing. And also kind of go through some of these ridiculous fact checks that have emerged is the great dinesh d'souza dinesh welcome back to the program. Charlie always a pleasure and was really fun to be in Arizona and I mean the level of energy. People were really fired up and they want to they want to see some real change come out of this. They want the movie to be the propeller, but only the first step of a lot of things that have to happen next. Well, you've been doing a great job and we're starting to see, I think, a change in how the media is covering this. You're starting to see kind of a validation almost, where they are covering it now in The Washington Post and The Daily Beast. Albeit they're doing it sloppily dishonestly and in a way to try to delegitimize the film. But I think it does the opposite. I think it actually further platforms the movie. Let's just talk more broadly than we can get into specifics. What's your reaction on how this movie is being covered by the mainstream media? Well, it seems to me that they went and do phases. And the first phase, they unleashed some fact checkers, PolitiFact Ali swensen, AP, a couple of other articles, and they tried to be dismissive. Like geo tracking doesn't really work and those kinds of things, which were kind of manifestly absurd. And I think even the left realized that's really not going to do the job. So now they've unleashed their bigger guns, Philip bump of The Washington Post. That's a big New York Times article that seemingly underway hasn't come out yet. And NPR tried to sort of get us on the issue of an ancillary murder that's discussed in the movie as if to say, you know, we lied about it. So there's sort of the second wave of liberal attack, much more detailed, tries to be more sophisticated. But I think it's not, it's really not landing a real glove on the movie either.

The Roe v Wade Thing Isn't a Winner...

"Seems to have kind of collaboratively agreed through coordination and I'm just looking, I'm looking at The Wall Street Journal, I have The New York Times here. The roe V wade thing isn't a winner. And what's so fascinating is how many moderate Republicans for years told me that we can't talk about reversing roe versus wade because people will lose their mind and that there will be protests in the streets and we'll lose voters. And what that shows and I want you to imagine for a second, I want to push your boundaries how much of our action, how much of our potential boldness is held hostage by the belief, the left is going to lose their mind and we're going to lose politically when in reality that might not be the case. How many big ambitious exciting ideas could we be implementing to better the American nation that we kind of stopped short because people say, oh, no, no. Bad things might happen. Now, for years, I was told by moderate Republicans. Charlie stopped talking about abortion. Stop talking. We're going to lose voters. It's going to be cataclysmic, and unite the left. Well, I'm reading The New York Times, just weeks after the leak. And it is nowhere to be found. Now this was not the case with Floyd a palooza. During Floyd a palooza, it was everywhere. Nonstop, racial reconciliation reconciliation, 16, 19 project promotions The New York Times. Rob and D'angelo, white fragility, ibram X kendi, tahani see Coates. Nonstop drum beat of promotion and profiling of stories, promotion, and platforming is a better word to use than profiling. Nonstop. I'm expecting, but I'm not seeing where in The New York Times is woman in Arkansas, dreads that one day she can't have an abortion.

The Makings of a Conservative Majority With Newt Gingrich

"This. I think social media is also helping us a lot where a lot of black and Hispanic voters otherwise would have been just kind of listening to propaganda radio or television, but they're exposed to new and exciting voices like Candace Owens or Brandon Tatum, where they're getting the other side of the story for the first time, maybe 20 or 30 years ago. It wouldn't have been as possible. And also, unfortunately, the dominance of Democrats destroying these cities. It's now 50 years, 60 years. They've had their turn, and there is that kind of narrative that is seeping in, such as look at Detroit before and after Democrat rule. I mean, in certain, you've seen those pictures where almost Nagasaki has done better post atomic bomb than Detroit under Democrat rule. And then finally, and I love your thoughts on this. I think Republicans are doing better at candidate selection and asking for the vote. It's almost like there's this new sense of confidence thanks to president Trump where we're going to go and ask for the vote, such candidates like Herschel Walker and others. What are your thoughts on all that? Well, I think first of all, I think you're right on and I think you put your finger on a very fascinating part of this. Kevin McCarthy set out in 2020 to recruit candidates and people thought the House Republicans would lose 25 seats. They gained 15. That's a swing of 40 from what the experts thought would happen. Well, the 15 they gained every single one of them was either a woman or a minority and in some cases, as with two Korean American women in Southern California, a woman and a minority. And McCarthy talks constantly about base broadening and he talks about this opportunity to expand the brand, not just to focus in a narrow way on the old base. All of this was made possible by two things. One was Trump's effectiveness in communicating and in delivering the fact is you look at the price of gasoline two 35, I think, when Trump left office, you look at the price of gasoline now, you look at the price of food when Trump left office, you look at the price of food now. You look at the border getting controlled under Trump. You look at the chaos and the border now. You look at the crime rate under Trump. And Trump, I think, by now, would have very aggressively gone after these George Soros elected district attorneys who are refusing to prosecute

Can California Win the Water War?

"What is the future for Californians? If Gavin Newsom continues the way he's going, these Democrats are still running the government in California. Is there going to be a significant drought in California that the Californians should be worried about or is it the government is incompetent and we will resolve this as a people in California, you know, where do we stand with this? Well, it's hard to know where it's going to go. I mean, what we're doing is we're state officials through inaction are putting us at the mercy of mother nature, right? So we're just so if we get some rainy years, we'll be fine. And if the drought becomes intense and that the state has had droughts and floods and droughts and floods throughout its entire history, when Leland Stanford went to the inaugurated year to take a boat to the capital, there were we've had massive floods before before we damned all the rivers. There were massive flood events and we've always had drought event. Long-standing drought. So it's really just really just largely an infrastructure issue. And we have the state has a $97.5 billion budget surplus, which is that's pretty unbelievable, which certainly just means the government is collecting more money from people. It's taking too much money. But certainly, if you look at this in context, if we used a lot of some of that money towards building some of these infrastructure projects, we could solve it because you saw you store more water in the rainy year. So you have it in the dry years. I mean, there's a reason Southern California gets a third of the states rainfall, and it has, it's a better shape than the Northern California, which gets two thirds, obviously, two thirds of the rainfall, because Southern California, the metropolitan water district and the water district of San Diego have built more storage facilities and they plan to head. Now, there are some things that everyone likes, like Orange County, is the master of water recycling, and that's a good thing. There are a lot of things like that. We can do. I advocate doing all sorts of things. We store more water, build diesel, recycle water, conserve, do everything, but we're losing California has been overdrawing from the Colorado River. So we're having to pull back. So yeah, we're looking at a future of scarcity and if the state that's just going to be higher prices, rationing, it's going to be bad for poor people for everyone. It's going to be bad for business development and fewer people are going to want to come here.

"As though The White House is aggressively working to protect all these people. The 700% increase, for example, a non citizen processing and care, while simultaneously kind of sticking it to the American taxpayers. I mean, it feels like the priorities are all kind of all over the place. If you look at what Americans are dealing with right now in terms of higher energy prices, the prices of the gas pumps being in an all time high and there's no desire, no will for whatever reason to get any of this under control. I've actually proposed a lot of different things. And yet you have no willingness from Biden and company to deal with the reality, which is why I led this podcast saying reality bites. And The New York Times is admitting it. We're going to get to that in just a second because it's a great headline. I really want to share with you. "Study yourself. It will provide you with all the books you need. I recently read this in rereading when things fall apart by pema chodron. I think I've read the book 5 times over the last 20 years, and every time I read it, new stuff pops up. And this one popped off the page for me today. Study yourself will provide you with all the books you need. It's interesting because I have stopped reading so many books. It's been since pretty much March 2020. When COVID hit, I don't know what happened. I just stopped reading so much. I used to read a ton. And I felt like I was full. I don't know if you've ever felt that way. Where I couldn't take in any more. Now, listen. I am seeing this very humbly. I certainly have a lot to learn, but I wasn't feeling the need to fill myself. With the books, the types of books that I was reading, a lot of the books on, you know, spirituality, self help, science of the nervous system, the microbiome, leadership, you know, all of it. I just felt like I couldn't take any more in that there was just, there was enough for me to unpack within me. And then I know that my teacher, Scott McBride has said, his teacher, Trump Arun Boucher. Said to him, no more books. No more books. And it really is just symbolic, right? I mean, I still read. I don't read as much. I don't feel the need. To consume books as much. Hopefully, I mean, I'd like to read again a lot, but right now I feel like I'm still studying myself. And so reading this this morning, from Hema, you know, she says, study yourself provides all the books you need. There are two things to study. She said, she suggested. The wisdom of how we cause ourselves to suffer. There's a wisdom in how we cause ourselves to suffer. And, you know, a lot of that is what I talk about here on daily whispers. It's how we get in our own way. How we hold back, how we shut down, how we judge, how we play small, all those things, it's how we cause ourselves to suffer, so studying that, which hopefully I can help you point you in different directions on how to continue to study yourself in that way. And then the second way is to study the wisdom of just how vast, joyful and uncomplicated our minds are. So it's the two sides of the same coin. It's how we cause ourselves to suffer. And it's how uncomplicated, brilliant, intelligent, clear, we all ready are. It's so simple. But yet, it takes a lifetime. And some say many lifetimes. So it's both studying our neuroses. And our unbiased, unconditional truth. And how do we do that? We look. We look, we become familiar with, we dance with, we surf, we meditate, we just pause, we become still, we look directly at. We become honest with ourselves. And we blanketed it all with loving kindness. Gentleness, humor. Humor is huge. So, that's it. That's all I have for you today, study yourself. Both how you suffer and cause yourself to suffer, and also how simple, open, clear, and uncomplicated, you already are. And in that, in that study, it will provide you with all the books you need. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love uncovering new simple ways to wake up, show up. And shine. Thank you for listening. Thank you for being here. And thank you for engaging with me in any way you feel you're ready to do. You can email me, you can reach out to me on social media. You can leave a review on this podcast. You could also share this with a friend and this is how we are able to touch more and more people because let me tell you, and you know this. We are suffering. As a whole, and so when we can all be part of the solution, it's how we start to shift ourselves out of this. This mental health crisis that we're in. And so my part here are these simple daily whispers. Your part may look completely different, but this is how we help each other, find our own truth, trust our own intelligence, and it's how we walk each other.

They're not things that go away. And one of the fastest way to have resentment is to have needs and don't ask for them. And then you get resentful very fast. Then they're done that. I don't want to do that anymore. Yeah, yeah. And I think my work, I think my practice would be to pay attention and take initiative when you when I see you at a 6 or 7. And of course, there's going to be days that I don't notice, right? But actually set the intention to. And then whether it's Logan or something else to help you, you know, give you what I think you need. As much as I can. And then that's the dance, right? That's the scratching of each other's backs, and I think that not only releases resentment, but also builds trust. And safety and you know. Yeah, safety feeling safe. You know, nothing makes you feel less. Nothing makes you feel more alone than feeling like you need something and then the other person not being aware of it. And then just talking about themselves in their life and then you slowly start to drift and then you feel like you're by yourself. Yeah. Also, been there done that and I'm not doing that again. "Listen to podcasts. Redefine your work life today. Basically, because if you give me a checklist, or if you say, okay, you take her, but here's how I want you to do it. Then it's going to be hard for me because I'm going to feel like you're nagging or controlling or you're not letting me have my own experience. Now, of course, if it's raining outside and I take her with the album, I would have to do the basics or if she hasn't eaten. This is what you need to feed her. But if you grab instead of hold, if you say you need to do it this way, period, then I get irritated because now you're stripping the experience from me. So like if I take her, I'm taking her and I'm gonna you should trust it, I'm at the steering wheel. You can't go do yoga and still be at the steering wheel at the same time. You know what I'm saying? My revelation was this one of the things that's really triggering for me is and probably because I used to do this a lot is hijack space, meaning take people hostage by going into a space explosive or lots of high energy as you call it going in too hot the way you go into Logan's room sometimes. Kick the door down like I'm S.W.A.T.. And she cries because she's just waiting for an app and you're like, okay, let's not exaggerate. That's not exaggerate. A lot of times because and this isn't just with life because you let things get to a ten. When you enter a room, there's always panic. Not I shouldn't say always, but there's panic. And then that triggers me and I'm like, you know, you're hijacking my space and then I get panicky and now with two people running around like the sky is falling and so the revelation I.

"That this is one of my areas of work, like knowing this area of, you know, not being Superwoman. Yeah. Is a struggle for me, not just with the baby, but just in life. Sure. I guess it's twofold. One, and you're human, and you're going to have your own responses, but I think one, if I get to a place of ten, because I haven't been able to catch myself at a 6. Trying to depersonalize it and know that it's not about you, right? This is all of my shit. And two, and this is something that I'm asking as a need, but also you are usually pretty good about doing, actually. Which is because you know me, you know when I'm at usually a 6 or 7, and you probably know it, actually, and I might, I might know it in my body, but I have an accepted that reality. Right. And so sometimes you'll say to me, hey, why don't you go do something? I'm going to take her for an hour. Yeah. And usually I push back. Because I have an accepted the fact that I met a 7 yet, or maybe I don't want to accept that fact yet. And so a lot of times I'll push back and it might almost be helpful for you to put language to it and say,.

"Do you feel so tell me about this? Why do you feel shame? Because you is it because she's too much right now and you don't, you don't want you need to be away from her and then so because you would need to be away from her that makes you feel like that's bad or you're being a bad parent or partly. I don't want her to feel like she's too much ever. I never wanted her to feel that way. Is that tied to your own story? Yeah. I mean, I think my own story, a lot of stories that people that I've worked with as clients, it's just like in her narrative, especially women that were too much, you know? And so I just, I don't want to give that to her. Yeah. And I think there's a difference between, you know, that her being quote unquote too much and her going through a phase of just screaming. As communication, you know? I think they're very different things. I know that it's easy to feel like, okay, I promised myself, I would never water her down. You know, I don't want that for her, but this is not. This is not you doing that because you need space because she's screaming in your ear, you know. Yeah, and then it's just, you know, I think what my coach JD said was pretty spot on, which is just, you know, this is the pattern that you see with me across everything, which is like this pushing myself to the point of. Like burnout, pushing myself to the point of being overwhelmed. And that's when I ask for help. In more of like a throw my hands up, fuck this, I need to get away from everything place. And I've been working on this. I think I started working on this, actually, when the baby was first born just if all of us have zero to ten, ten being our snapping moment. How do we figure out what our 6 or 7 is? And ask for help, then, or remove yourself and take care of yourself then. Before it gets to the ten. And how do I get myself into a 6 or 7? Ask for help and not feel the guilt of the shame and I want to ask you for help, right? So the feelings that I and I'm rambling about myself because I know just even based on clients and this retreat that I just read so many people can relate to this feeling of saying I need help means I'm saying that I can't do this. I'm inadequate. I'm needy.

"So all our case, one word live better. And I will see you in the lab. So most of the time we don't really know what our episodes are going to be about, we just start talking and see where it goes. Those tend to be the best conversations anyway. But today's episode, we kind of have an idea because it's very here and now it's something that we're going through. And that is parenting. The struggles of parenting, yeah, so where do you want to start? I think I want to start by just naming that today was a rough day. Yeah. Yeah. You know? I know. And I see it in you. I see you going through it. It's interesting because, you know, there's different parts of me. And I forget to, you know, because the big part of me is trying to fix things and try to be solution based and calm, be calm and let's just focus on how to fix. And I forget to recognize acknowledge, see how hard it is for you at times, you know? So right now, Logan is screaming constantly and Vanessa. Screaming, crying, but screeching. She's communicating through screeches. Yeah. And so it doesn't bother me as much, but Vanessa is more of a sensei. Is it sensitive? Yeah, I mean, she can hear a pen drop, you know, inside a bank vault. Yeah, I mean, you know, I think it's having to kind of honor my nervous system a little bit, you know? And she's screeching a lot. She's hasn't been feeling well the last two days. She's been very clingy. And why me? And she just wants me right now. The clinginess and the wanting to be held. It's a mom face right now. And so it doesn't feel like I can get a break as much as I would like. And so yeah, it's overwhelming and I think yesterday evening into today. I think I just kind of hit a breaking point and.

Dan has a <Speech_Male> certain way of building <Speech_Male> up. Which is very <Speech_Male> similar philosophy <Speech_Male> to the new <Speech_Male> product <Speech_Male> ceramics gio <Speech_Male> from dense. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> if <SpeakerChange> you ha- <Speech_Male> if i told it with <Speech_Male> then you could <Speech_Male> translate that <Speech_Male> to the dense play very very <Speech_Male> easily <Speech_Male> similarly. <Speech_Male> I'm using <Speech_Male> some of products <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> And they <Speech_Male> build up. Technique <Speech_Male> is very <Speech_Male> very similar to for <Speech_Male> example <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Three <Speech_Male> am phil tech <Speech_Male> very similar. <Speech_Male> So they'll or dc <Speech_Male> would also <Speech_Male> be <Speech_Male> broader and genial would <Speech_Male> also be a <SpeakerChange> similar build <Speech_Male> up technique. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> yeah it's <Speech_Male> at the end <Speech_Male> of it. At the end of the three <Speech_Male> days you'll be able <Speech_Male> to go home <Speech_Male> and do <Speech_Male> all <Speech_Male> of those exercises <Speech_Male> with products. You already <Speech_Male> have oil. <Speech_Male> You may decide <Speech_Male> that okay. <Speech_Male> I like this way of doing <Speech_Male> it differently. I'll throw <Speech_Male> out the products or <Speech_Male> use them. Op <Speech_Male> an embarrassment <Speech_Male> to a different way of <Speech_Male> doing it. So it's <Speech_Male> it's it's <Speech_Male> more of philosophy <Silence> course <SpeakerChange> in that way. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I love that actually <Speech_Male> because it <Speech_Male> isn't you know don't get <Speech_Male> me wrong. I think <Speech_Male> jason <Speech_Male> and i <Speech_Male> met you. <Speech_Male> It literally started <Speech_Male> the podcast because <Speech_Male> because we <Speech_Male> met at a cosmetic course <Speech_Male> so clearly. I mean <Speech_Male> i have. I have some affection <Speech_Male> for the way they do things <Speech_Male> but it is nice to be able to <Speech_Male> to show lots <Speech_Male> of because you know what <Speech_Male> there's a lot of good <Speech_Male> materials out there so it's <Speech_Male> saying you know there there's <Speech_Male> one material do this is <Speech_Male> is a little crazy so i kinda <Speech_Male> love that and i'm looking at <Speech_Male> it right now. I'm looking at the website. <Speech_Male> The dates <Speech_Male> or september nineteen <Speech_Male> nineteen th through <Speech_Male> the twenty first <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> So it's it's <Speech_Male> in scottsdale <Speech_Male> and it's <Speech_Male> I mean i'll call put a <Speech_Male> link to the <SpeakerChange> show in the <Speech_Male> show notes of the course. <Speech_Male> The <Speech_Male> then <SpeakerChange> i think <Speech_Male> i <Speech_Male> honestly. The weather's <Speech_Male> pretty much always <SpeakerChange> getting <Speech_Male> the elvis <Speech_Male> july. <Speech_Male> I think <SpeakerChange> sometimes <Speech_Male> it. Yeah <Speech_Male> no no. That's right <Speech_Male> well. And so the <Speech_Male> in. Unless <Speech_Male> i'm gonna invite you <Speech_Male> into the very dental facebook <Speech_Male> group too so if <Speech_Male> people have questions i can kind of <Speech_Male> hitch up there. I'm <Speech_Male> curious though that like <Speech_Male> i. It'll be interesting <Speech_Male> to see what the travel recommendations <Speech_Male> and all that <Speech_Male> stuff happened.

Aren't really ways words to describe it but in any case i didn't realize you had to go through but jason is really into gardening. His gardening is amazing. And it's worth looking at. But then you had i think did ricardo play piano. I think he did it. Yeah yeah. Ricardo wildly talented piano. He's really really good. And and Frank speier showed off his insane vinyl collection and his is insane audio. Set up in at how to do it. Yeah yeah i mean it's like like it was really interesting Way to kind of make these people put these people in a different contexts that you're used to seeing them in which i kinda kinda love jack. Hindsight predict he had he did where i mean. He did Breakfast so yeah. He did breakfast too. I saw that what else in one of the ones that i thought was interesting was i want to say did greg and jill do something together they did. They did exercise. Which high academic smoothie agreed said. Oh yeah that's what it was. It was the smooth told me. He told me it tastes nice. Okay yeah probably better out current i was gonna say i'll take i'll take your word for it and then The botchy ball which was kind of funny. So bob bob bob winded did botchy bus. I mean like it was. It was interesting to show what these people are like outside of their elmo. Darren's was my favorite. Because he did karate kid and just like the most daring thing ever like. I was well isn't it. Yeah the the only thing that would have surprised me last would be like if he'd been rock climbing with his son. That would have been the more. The more darren thing but like i love. I love that. Because all these people that i really enjoy tate listening to in in in kind of knowing i like knowing more about them but it is like it says interesting because we both have teenage kids.
