Are We the Last Humans? AI Expert Joe Allen Weighs In
"We the last humans? That's a great question. Joe Allen, so I'm just reading some notes here. You suggest that we're staring down the barrel of two different and divergent transhumanist futures. What do you mean? So I think that it's put really well by people like James polos or Mary Harrington. I can't recommend their writing enough. Very, very intelligent. And they are much more fatalistic about this in some ways than I or certainly Steve. Steve Bannon comes out very strong on the point that we just got to stop this. We have to, if not, smash up the machines halt their progress. Polos and Harrington, I think are more fatalistic and what they describe really in essence is a situation in which we in the west are have a choice between two types of worldly power, the kind of Borg that you see represented by people like Google or Facebook or Microsoft, the sort of corporate politically correct Borg that is set up as a sort of police state over the rest of us, or an emperor model, which Musk represents. He's much more of a Caesar Augustus type character. And so it really is a choice, though, not between transhumanism or not transhumanism, is the style of transhumanism because the future that Musk foresees and is actively crafting with his billions is one in which we do create a godlike artificial general intelligence system

An AI Primer for Bitcoiners
"Crypto remains fairly quiet this week. In the land of 2022, clean up, the FTX estate came out with new info suggesting that they'd recovered $7.3 billion worth of assets, and were actively considering restarting the exchange. Meanwhile, Ethereum successfully completed its chapella set of upgrades, which, among other things, allows for the withdrawal of staked eth. I'm likely going to hit on both of those topics on the weekly recap on Saturday. For today though, I wanted to do a bit of a one O one episode that connects the dots between a number of the things I've been thinking about recently. If you saw that announcement for the breakdown network and Bitcoin builders, you probably noticed me talking about AI as another big picture power shift with fairly dramatic implications. What I want to do today is give a pretty rudimentary background on the AI space, but with a bit of a lens of Bitcoin and crypto industry folks in terms of why they might care and what they potentially have to contribute to the conversation. First, let's talk about what we mean when we say AI. For many years, people involved in the industry were careful to use really clear and precise language. Over the last year are honestly even less though, AI has come to be used as a blanket term for these big swaths of software that are effectively in the business of simulating or replicating human intelligence processes. It's sort of functions as a linguistic super category to cover a whole lot of things, including deep learning, machine learning, natural language processing, and more. The type of AI that has exploded into consumer consciousness recently is what people refer to as generative AI. Put simply, generative AI is a type of AI that can create new content, including things like images, text, audio code, and videos. Within generative AI, there are two types of tools that have really captured mainstream attention more than even the others. One of these is text to image AI. These are models that generate images from natural language descriptions. So for example, you can prompt one of these generators with a description such as selfie stick photos, Shakespeare, and the lord Chamberlain's men in the globe theater in 1596 in London, smiling faces. Happy, crowd in the background. Victorian clothes. And it produces, well, a selfie stick photo of Shakespeare in the lord Chamberlain's men in the globe theater in 1596 in London with smiling faces and a happy crowd in the background wearing Victorian clothes. And yes, this is a prompt I actually recently used. Now, these types of models have been around for just a couple of years. Some of the best known are dal E by OpenAI, a company which we'll talk more about throughout the show, stable diffusion, which comes from startup stability AI, which takes a slightly different technical approach in which released its code publicly and mid journey, which is the service that I use most often.

Hey, listen, before I tell you what they are, I didn't take time to thank officer Tatum. Officer Tatum, thank you for allowing me to be on the program Sean McConnell's in my ear. I got loot that's got my back. Who's got the phones there, Sean? All right, Suzanne has got the phones and we got forgotten man out there. All right, so two things that should not be in the gay rush of a lifelong politician and a former vice president. That is a classic Corvette. And classify document. This speaks of two types of corruption. The Corvette, the classic Corvette that's in his garage at a very nice home, speaks of a man that in my opinion, launder from the taxpayer has been corrupt all his freaking line. How does this guy become a multi millionaire multi multi multi millionaire? On a salary of what? I don't know what it was when he got into the Senate, but what is it now? A 180 hundred and 80 grand or something like that in the Senate. I'm not sure what the salary is for the VP, but I think that's maybe a couple of hundred grand or something to that effect. This guy is a multi millionaire ten times over. Ten times over. Nice Corvette, so he's got his Corvette. He's got his classified documents. It speaks to a guy that was that was robbing you when he was in the Senate and it speaks to a guy that continued to rob you when he was the vice president and these non skulls that the view that you should not be watching the view.

"Federal student loans that are known as fell loans. So many of these loans are managed by banks or even state agencies, not the federal government. And Biden's original plan allowed fell borrowers to consolidate these old loans into new federal loans and qualify for cancellation. And these states argue, if a lot of these loans go away, it'll hurt the fell loan managers, financially, and the states they're in. Okay, so what is the education department say about this? Well, first they say President Biden does have the authority to cancel these debts, and that's thanks to a law that Congress passed after the attacks of 9 11. But this other issue about banks and state agencies suffering financial harm by losing all of these old federal loans. Well, it did something really unusual yesterday. It quietly changed the language on its website to suddenly exclude many of these borrowers from debt relief. We know there are about 4 million of them with these kinds of loans, administration officials told me many of them will still qualify, but that around 800,000 fell borrowers as of yesterday will not now qualify. And the department didn't clearly explain why they'd done it. Though I spoke with multiple legal experts who all said it's pretty clear the department was worried it was not on solid legal footing here. Okay, so let's jump now to the other lawsuit we mentioned earlier this week. This one from an individual borrower claiming harm. Yeah, his name is Frank garrison. He's an attorney in Indiana, and according to his complaint, he says he should qualify for debt relief automatically. And that's important, Leila, because Indiana is one of the handful of states that has said it will tax this debt relief as income. And garrison says he doesn't want to pay that tax because he doesn't want this relief now because he's only about four years away from having all of his student loans erased under the public service loan forgiveness program. And that relief would not be taxable. So he's asking the court to block the Ed department from canceling anyone's debts. Okay, so what does the Biden administration say about all this? Well, just a few hours after the suit was filed, White House spokesman emailed me and said anyone who does not want that relief can choose to opt out. And yesterday, then the judge in the case refused garrison's request to stop debt relief from proceeding because he wrote this opt out, which appears to be new, means garrison can not be irreparably harmed by the plan. I will say though Layla, we are all but sure to see more of these legal challenges as these conservative groups and politicians continue to sort of tweak their arguments and the Ed department keeps gently tweaking its plan. NPR's Corey Turner, who covers education thanks, Corey. You're welcome. Brazilians are facing a stark choice in this Sunday's election. Global news 24 hours a day on air and on Bloomberg quicktake, powered by more than 2700 journalists and analysts in more than 120 countries, and neand gars, this is Bloomberg, Alex. Thanks, Leanne. So we have the story today that the world's largest investment banks are bracing themselves for billions of dollars in fines from none other than simple text messages. Here to discuss why this is all happening now is Bloomberg news reporter Charlie wells, so Charlie, can you talk us through how we arrived here from some bankers texting, sending text messages to billions of dollars in fines. Yeah, sure, Alex, well, this really goes back to kind of a fundamental principle in banking, and it is that bankers need to keep records of the deals they do, the trades they make, and the way that they court clients. Now this was easy in the days of, say, letters, fax machines, even email, but encrypted messaging has made it even easier for the likes of, say, managing directors to just shoot off messages and not necessarily keep track of them in the way that they should. Well, that is exactly what U.S. regulators said that JPMorgan was doing in extracting a $200 million fine from the bank in December. Now, the bank had to admit that among other things, one manager texted more than a hundred colleagues and dozens of outsiders racking up more than 2400 messages. That is a rare admission, and it was also just the first step because regulators continued a large sweep through the banking sector in snarling many banks, including HSBC, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup. That is a lot of text messages. It's like being in a group chat with Leigh Anne garris, and why are banks talking about these fines now? Yes, so, you know, that JPMorgan fine was extracted in December, the industry wide probe started and has been continuing over the course of months. And now what the big question has really been over those months has been will the fines that other banks potentially face reach that $200 million figure that JPMorgan faced, and in the past few weeks in earnings statements from banks, the answer seems to be yes. So Credit Suisse's CFO said recently that they are now anticipating a $200 million charge. This is an he has said that this is expected across the industry and similar points have been made estimates now look like about ten banks in total could face $200 billion in fines for these messages. WhatsApp is so widely used, particularly in our part of the world, perhaps a little bit less so in the U.S.. Can penalties like this actually do much to change the way bankers communicate? Yeah, Alex, that's a really good question. And this is about what's up. This is about private messaging. This is about text messaging as well. I think that there will probably be a chilling effect here, right? In some of these investigations, banks have literally asked people to hand over their personal phones. I don't think anyone wants that happening, but we do know that hybrid work is here to stay. These messaging platforms, as you say, are so efficient. And I think Deutsche Bank provides a kind of interesting model, so 5 years ago they tried to ban WhatsApp on company phones, recently they've been working on software that could allow, you know, WhatsApp and other messaging platforms to be on company phones, but to be archived properly. So it probably is not black and white going forward. Okay, really interesting story. Thanks so much for taking us through all the detail of it Bloomberg's Charlie Wales there with the latest on that story about the investigation into WhatsApp messages among bankers, really interesting one to watch as that story rolls on. Coming up next on the program, we will be talking about the London rush with Charles capel who'll be taking us through all

How Attorney Marina Medvin Beat the System in a January 6 Case
"Guys, Marina madman is a heroine of mine. She is a nationally recognized criminal defense lawyer. She's been doing terrific work in defending some of the January 6 protesters. And I'm delighted to welcome her back to the podcast. Marina, good to see you again. How are you doing? You must be feeling not too bad because of the outcome in the case of Jenny kud. Say a little bit about the case and then let's talk about what the judge said and how you basically, well, kind of beat the system with this one. Well, thank you very much for having me on and once again. And yes, we're very happy with the outcome in the Jenny cut case. We do believe there was an equitable outcome all things considered. The bank probably the most fair outcome would have been a $50 fine, but that's besides the point, as far as these cases are concerned, it is a fair outcome. The Jenny cut case was interesting because we relied on a lot of independent conservative media reports of the Portland cases and the Seattle cases to piece together dismissals that take place in Portland and Seattle. And to review briefs that were filed in those jurisdictions by the DoJ and how the DoJ characterized the conduct of antifa and BLM on those days. And we use the government's own words against them. We looked at how much praise they gave to the protesters in Portland and praised to the protesters and Seattle, and we compare that to the disparaging remarks made about the protesters in D.C. in January 6th, the conservative protesters. And we were able to show a true disparity between the two types of cases. And as far as how the individuals were being treated, you had individuals committing felonies, victimizing police officers causing injuries, and the DoJ dismissing those charges against those individuals without explanation. We can only presume with political motivation because there is no explanation for why.

What's the Cost of Standing for Biblical Truth?
"Ask John Macarthur Jack cibs and these other pastors, are your ties and offerings going up almost every single one of them will say yes. Is your attendance going up every single one will say yes. What is the LA times say about you? Oh, they hate me. That's the cost. The cost of standing for biblical truth is not that your ties and offerings will go down. No, the lord will bless you in this moment. In fact, he's equipping his church with a harvest at this time to be prepared for the battles ahead. No, no, no. The cost, the only cost at the time is that you might have disagreement, and you might have bad names thrown at you. Now for some pastors, that's a big deal. In fact, most pastors are intimidated and get into a posture of retreat. The second type of pastor is the pastor that is cowardly or weak. I'm not going to say any names here at this conference. You guys can all fill it in. But these are the passwords that say, hey, we're not talked about these issues here at our church. I don't care about the future of the country. I don't really care about what's going to happen to America, not my role. I'm just going to preach the gospel and that's it. I'm all for preaching the gospel, everybody. But if we don't stand for liberty, we're going to be preaching the gospel and we're all going to be having a prison ministry pretty soon. And that's not an exaggeration.

What Would the Playback Be for Eliminating Large Portions of the Population?
"To eliminate a large portion of the population? What's so incredible to me is how close we are in historical terms, meaning not so far away from the intentional attempt to eliminate entire races of people. This is not just done by the national socialist Workers Party in the 1930s and 1940s in Germany, despicably and evil. But it's also attempt to be done by Mao Zedong and Joseph Stalin. If the 20th century told us anything, it told us a couple things as Alexander social needs and famously wrote in the gulag archipelago. He said that all of this was thanks to ideology. Now, Alexander social needs an reflected in the gulag archipelago, which I encourage you to read. He went into a deep reflection saying, what did I personally do that might have contributed to this great evil? It's very profound. And actually, that book was largely responsible for the downfall of the Soviet Union. There's another great book by Victor frankel, which is called man's search for meaning by writing that book he ended up starting a whole new psychological kind of school of thoughts called logo therapy. The will to meaning. Usually you have the will to power the will to pleasure. He says that we as humans have a moral obligation to have a will to meaning. Viktor frankl famously said in man's search for meaning there are only two types of people, the decent. And the indecent. We are so close to the committed and attempted elimination of entire groups of people. Why is it that anytime anyone says that the government might be trying to do that again, they're called a conspiracy theorist and you're not even allowed to talk about it. It's a very

"I know that I'm in my spontaneous arousal. I know I'm in the mood. Would you then ask me and say, what can I do for you? Yeah, I would prefer that might make you in the mood. Because what I would prefer is communication. So let your forcing me to communicate my need to, which we know is hard for me. So that would be good. So if you're like, hey, listen, don't take this personally, but I'm exhausted. I really don't want to be intimate tonight. I would be like, oh, no problem, and then if I was horny, I would take care of that myself and there would be no issue. It's all good. If you're in a communicating and I'm all worked up and I'm flirting and being, you know, getting excited and I'm giving you a massage and everything and then have no expectation and then it doesn't happen. Now, you know, I'm the loner with a boner in the corner. I'm Korean Smurf. You know what I'm talking about? The blue walls. And so then anger was resentment builds and all that shit that you know the flapping fish in bed. So yeah, it's communication. It's hints. And I think if you told me in advance, I wouldn't take it personally. Well, but that's tricky, though, and I feel like we've gotten into this dance a couple times, where it's like, just tell me in advance. And again, I think because of now I'm understanding this form of desire, I can't tell you at 5 p.m. if I'm going to be in the mood at 9 p.m.. That's literally not possible. So I could tell you at 5 p.m., no fucking way. But at 9 p.m., if, you know, I'm getting a good massage, and I just happen to get aroused and I will. So that's also tricky. Like being able to plan for sex is not something I don't think that somebody in my category can't even do. Well, this is why this is all really difficult. Totally. You know, it's their dance, it's that there is no color by number is right way to do this. It's a feeling, it's some flirting. It's getting to know your partners. You know, sometimes you're right. Sometimes you're wrong. Right. And also, by the way, sex doesn't always have to be like this. Sex can also be quickies and, you know,.

"But it's more often that it's a massage where I really do believe that there's no expectation. Because once I feel like there's an expectation that the massage will lead to sex, that's actually gonna hinder I feel my desire because now we're locked into that. It's something I should do. So how do you, if you're a couple who's busy, maybe you have a child, tight schedules, how do you not expect to have sex? So you basically just focusing on creating this. 'cause I think this is where a lot of couples get into fights, right? I think the responsive person just wants to space and if sex happens great if that doesn't happen, that's fine. The spontaneous person is now depending on it because sex is hard to come by because people are busy and because you get a schedule at all that stuff, you know? Well, so this is the hard part of the conversation because and there's going to be a lot of feelings attached to what I'm about to say. But wait, by the way, I'm actually not even talking about me. I'm dead serious. I'm talking about a couple clients. I know. And yes, they are male. Yeah, no. I mean, I don't say when I say there's going to be feelings. I don't necessarily mean you. I feel like anybody who listens to this is going to be feelings attached to this, but we all know, right? I'm not saying anything nobody's heard that women are trained, like growing up from society. I mean, our idea of sexuality is to be pleasurable to somebody else. Right. Right. It's not about us and our pleasure. It's about how can we please somebody else? Our entire existence is here to soothe the man's ego. Which is why we do things like have sex, and we don't want to. Because we're basically told from day one that that's our job, right?.

Age and lowering testosterone and all that. And also it takes me a lot more to get around, get it up, all that. And so now that I've kind of I'll never know what it's like to be a woman, but now that I've kind of, if I can imagine myself when I'm on those days where I don't feel like having sex, genuinely, I'd rather watch the Golden Girls or eat spaghetti. If I was to say, okay, but I need to have sex with my partner. I need to force myself. I need to get it up. What's wrong with me? I could see how damaging that can be. I could see how God, I mean, just just thinking about that. I could see how I could start to build resentment or feel not enjoy sex? Yeah. Suddenly, sex becomes a chore sex become something I would be afraid of. Once you start pressuring me, I'd be like, oh, fuck, here we go. I get all that now, you know? And again, I'm not a woman. I'm sure it's actually more stressed more difficult because I'm also not experiencing a society's pressure and all of that. But just, you know, the few days during a month that I actually don't want to have sex as really been kind of insightful for me on what it could possibly be like. Yeah, and I don't say this to be dramatic, but actually to be on a very honest about it. I would say in my lifetime, if I had to put some kind of crazy number on it, I would say 50 50 or maybe 60 40% of the time that I've had sex, it's probably.

"Give more than a gift. I don't know. I think that's I think that might be a dangerous statement. I think that arousal we're talking arousal only. I don't necessarily think that arousal. I don't know. I'm not a man. I would think that arousal would not always lead to erection. Am I wrong? I don't think it always does, but once it does, yeah, like once it starts because it's about blood flow. So once you start to get excited, you know turning back. No, yeah, we can't, we can't cut off that blood flow mentally. We can't see a stop. I mean, unless we physically like jumping cold water or something, that's gonna make it stop. But we can't mentally cut something off. Like when you are able to think of baseball right like think of baseball, think of your grandmother or think of all those tricks that you hear teenagers to last longer, yeah, but you can't like, you know, when you cut off your urine stream yeah. We can't do that with directions. So the way that you cut off that cut off, the way you get rid of the direction is to release instantly goes down. Well, so this is why I was saying it might be dangerous conversation because based on this research, there are 15% of women who do fall into spontaneous arousal category. Sure, sure. I mean, so I don't know, it's like we're talking I feel like it's like arousals one thing and erection is another. I feel like arousal might be more to me, I'm thinking font based. I'm thinking emotional based, whether it's man or woman, it doesn't matter. Like, I don't know, to me, that's what I think of arousal I think of that. And then going back to what I was first saying about societally the patriarchal structure that we live in that we're socialized with because women, she says, aren't often exposed to what is more typical of female sexual desire, right? So if there's only 15%, there's, you know, I'm bad at math. What is that 85?.

They give you an eye and you're like, oh, I want to have sex right now. It's spontaneous, right? It doesn't need to be, it doesn't need to come after anything. It doesn't need to be kind of warmed up for you. It can just pop into your mind and if you want to have sex. You're sitting in home room class and for no apparent fantasizing. You get a boner. And so you take your textbook and you put in between your legs, hoping no one will notice or the teacher won't call on you to stand up and read. Is this a personal experience? No, this is what I've heard about. So that's spontaneous. And you know, I also wonder with the totality of a second, I wonder how much of spontaneous desire has to do with biology. Well, so they say, she says, 75% of men are members of the spontaneous group. And only 15% of women. Right. So there must be some biology and that's although she does talk about same sex couples struggling with similar dynamics. So maybe it's socialized. Honestly. Yeah. I mean, I'm trying to think so from a male point of view, I know that when we get excited, it's almost like, I mean, I guess the best way to describe it is you have to sneeze. And then if you don't let it out if you don't sneeze, you get very frustrated. This is where that whole blue balls things comes from. I've never had blue balls. I don't know what I don't know if it's a real thing or a myth. I guess it is a real thing. I think the discomfort of it is a real thing. I don't know, sex that doesn't want. Well, because I tend to bring it into the locker room. I tend to get immature graphic, raw, so it's more about desire, I think than it is about sex actually. Okay. Yeah, so let's do it. So Vanessa read an article that kind of blew her way and then she afforded to me. And I thought it was really interesting. For those who don't remember 2018, beto o'rourke came out of virtually nowhere in El Paso member of Congress and managed to excite enough Democrats that he came to within two and a half percentage points of Ted Cruz, our biggest conservative rockstar. That was 2018. This is three years later. What's different now? Well, one thing he's running for governor and not for the Senate, the other thing is three years of time passing. The questions become, does he still have the same kind of moths to a flame drawing power for Democrats that he had three years ago? I think the short answer to that is yes. Democrats are naturally thrilled by the notion of having a rockstar like beto, run for governor. But you know what other kind of group beto energizes? Conservative voters. Who for three years have had a good solid memory of how crazy he is on the Second Amendment. In deeply wrong he is on boarders and the economy. He is saddled with the albatross of Joe Biden in this gubernatorial race. And so in taking calls on the fly about it, this very morning, I found two types of voters who were stoked that beto is running. Democrats ready to vote for him? Republicans ready to vote against him, so the key question is going to be which is the larger group. I think beto finishes closer to Greg Abbott, presuming he's the nominee. He does have competition. He finishes closer to Abbott than any other Democrat would have, but do I think beto is going to be the next governor of Texas? I decidedly do

The Ruling Class Has Become So Disconnected From the 'Muscular' Class
"So there's two types of economic classes in America. And by the way, one is not necessarily better than the other, right? There's the muscular class, and then there's the zoom and Skype class, right? So I'm part of the zoom in Skype class, okay? That doesn't make me a better person. It just so happens. I was able to keep on doing my work in the midst of the lockdown without having to lift boxes or wear a mask all day long. But the people that actually run the country, which I think never got the credit they deserved quite honestly during the pandemic, are the people that worked at the Amazon fulfillment centers. The people that are police officers, the people that are our firefighters, the people that actually drove trucks and instead, you saw this growing disconnect of the people in charge, have this arrogance and this attitude almost as top down revolution like, oh, you work with your hands, you don't have a doctorate from Harvard, your DOM and your stupid, right? And so but we saw this bubbling up in a variety of different ways. And for those of us that look at the stuff really closely and are worried about these trends, we said, this is not sustainable. You can't declare war on the people that actually make your country run and act as if there won't be a backlash against that, right? It's like a steep on serving me food serfs and servants. And we'd always make jokes about it, you know when Nancy Pelosi would be out in Napa Valley and all of her donor Friends were maskless, right? And every single person serving food outdoors were wearing masks, right? And we saw that whether Obama's birthday party in Martha's Vineyard where, you know, we had to kind of watch all the videos of people that had to wear masks or masks, but they were a sophisticated vaccinated crowd. And we saw that some people call double standards or hypocrisy, it's not. It's hierarchy. It's people in charge I think they're actually better than you. So hypocrisy is like if you actually believe the rule or you say it and you do something else, these are people that actually think they're at a different level of

"Or a A, uh, qualify are prequalified. Investment account. Um, but some do and you always have to take them to consideration to when you're making your decision about whether to invest or not. What's the next one? Katie? We've got an email from Victorian Clearwater, who congratulations to her. They recently paid off their house, which she said it was a great feeling, and I'm sure it was. But now they have about $3000 every month that they're not spending They said. We're already maxing out our retirement accounts and they don't want to just leave it in there checking account. So where should she be Putting this extra $3000 that she has nothing to do with? Victoria. That's a great question. I'm so glad you have all this overhead now, and I'm sure if feels wonderful to pay off that house. Um there's a couple options and then we always say police can see us. Graham Capital. We can show you all of these different types of avenues to go to, but Just because you're maxing out. Your IRA still doesn't mean you can't still go into the market. There would just be a different tax qualification. You would just be opening up an individual brokerage account, or really, the tax qualification of it would be non qualified. That's basically showing the IRS that you're putting in cash into this investment vehicle and you would still be investing it in the same way as you would On your qualified or your IRA status, but the taxes would be different on it. Another opportunity or option would be Insurance, you know, leaving a legacy tax free, also having a face value. So if you needed a a tax free loan out of the policy after it matures with a period of time you have that ability to do it just in case a wedding or something else comes up in your retirement that you need a Extra little bit of money for it. But those are the two types of vehicles. I would think of right off the path. But I always encourage our clients and listeners. The police come see us. We'll show you all these investment vehicles start to have anything. Chief. The thought one thought I had on this question for Victoria is if you want to really focus or if you're already maxing out your retirement account, I would have to actually have the question of which entire retirement account, sir. You Maxine out. Maybe there could be a consideration if you've already paid taxes on certain funds. Well, maybe you want to put it into Iraq account or Roth IRA account instead of a traditional IRA account again, certainly a variation Victoria that you could consider there are a lot of benefits to Roth IRA accounts. The contribution limits are limited compared to a traditional IRA, But you know that you have the benefit of any dollar that's in a Roth IRA account. You're not going to pay taxes on again. Any interest do you receive or any games you have in that Roth IRA account. You're not going to get taxed. And when that money comes out of the Roth IRA account, you're not going to get taxed. So it's certainly great that you're already maximizing your retirement account contributions. Maybe you want to consider diverse ng diversifying out which retirement accounts you have. And and again, the tax benefits are different with a Roth IRA. But maybe that's something we can consider is diversifying your Roth IRA or Excuse me. Your retirement accounts, whether a traditional IRA or Roth IRA. We also got an email from Nick in south Tampa, he says. My wife just received an inheritance, and about half of it is in an R I A I r a. I'm not clear on what our tax obligation is going to be on that portion. Can you clarify that? Mhm. Well, first and foremost with any inherited assets. You want to see a tax accountant. You want to see an attorney who could certainly provide a good guidance on how to maybe maximize your state or efficiently transfer assets into an estate. But in this case, Nick, uh, the state looks like it's already been planned. And the distributions have already been made. So in regards to the I R A. There is a A investment account, uh, called an inherited IRA where you're able to take funds that worked was from an A rated R A Seiwert from an IRA say a parent. And it has been inherited two. You've been named beneficiary. You'd put these assets into an inherited IRA. Now the rules have recently changed over the last couple of years. For example, If you roll assets into and you create an inherited IRA account, you do get a stepped up cost spaces. But with that being said, when you take out distributions Was in an IRA, Uh, there will be taxable consequences. Now the question is, When do you have to take distributions? So the minimum requirement of distributions or the age of the IRA for an inherited IRA is based off of who you inherited? Off of, so say, if you inherited assets from IRA for someone who's already taking their require a minimum distributions, you could be rushed assured, you're going to be expected to take a distribution out of that respect of IRA accounts. Again. The tax laws have changed in regards is just recently. But this is something that you'd want to take into consideration the most important part to benefiting from an IRA. Is that the fact that that that Time that you receive the funds from the IRA. You're not paying taxes. You are only going to pay taxes as you take money out of the R race through these respective distributions, Keith Yeah. Gosh, I totally agree. I totally agree. First of August. See an accountant and an attorney and let them direct you of where to go because these rules have definitely changed since this year. Um, yeah, but you nailed around stash of what to do, Nick, if you and Nick if you need to see, uh, an accountant or.

How Canary Speech Differs From Traditional Word-Based Models
"Our technology compared compared to historic approach. Historically, it began with the evaluation of word based things, classic example of the British novelist Agatha Christie and her plight through Alzheimer's, it's nice if you have 40 years of data to do analysis on, but it's not a practical way of approaching this. And word based analysis is difficult to control for education level, use of words, multiple languages across nations, not the withstanding various use of language throughout a single nation alone. So it's, while ASR is a nice, solid stable dataset, it's not a very useful dataset for doing analysis on things like anxiety stress depression. It's roughly practical for Alzheimer's, but even there it's very difficult to control. Canary speeches approach was to use a primary data layer, which is in fact used for ASR and NLP. But we use the primary data layer nearly exclusively. And from those features and biomarkers, we construct and train models, algorithms, which are independent, both language and other elements. Fundamentally how the central nervous system dries the creation of speech. And that allows us then to use a very rich set of data in a minute, hundreds of thousands of data points are. Used. We extract features in real time compare that to previous models and model sets that we have used. And today we're doing that in a. Newly launched system that utilizes the highest level of security available. We recently completed an external audit for penetration, vulnerability cysts and are finishing up soc two type one in the next

"Back when i was You know in college. I actually went to usc to study study cells in petri jewish and there are you know i studied these lung cells. And there's two type along. Sales one is type. One cell that basically lines the long participates in gas exchange. Then there was the type to sell which like a stem cell that could turn into type one cells but it also helps secrete something called surfactant which keeps the lung moist. Well we studied how these cells behaved in a petri dish and we started to learn. Okay well when does this. One cell differentiate into another cell. How does this help behave well. When we started to change the nutrients in the medium. We started to behave different. We started to change the temperature. It's hard to shift its behavior. In terms of how rapidly divided which changed the light and it started to change so turns out what determines the behavior or the state of a cell is not actually the dna. But it's actually all the energetic environment that's around that terms how the cell behaves and that. Dna's constantly listening again moment to moment with all that energetic environment right and what controls that environment everything because you dna's constantly listening but to learn everything and there's an infant amount of things that affects ourselves is going to help you or me but there are actually seven main things. In the book sleep nutrition movement emotional stress mastery relationships in purpose our thoughts and mindset those seven things is the eighty twenty rule or the ninety ten rule as to whether or not you can be in the thrive state which gives you access to optimal health longevity performance. Or if your cells think you're in stress because you haven't mastered those seven things. They think that you're in actually stress dangerous state. That's when inflammation increases immunity decreases. That's when you have chronic symptoms. That's when you get chronic disease this totally supports the studies on jeopardy. Where they'll they'll notice that you know people in this particular part of the world live on average ten or fifteen or even twenty years longer than people in this part of the world. it must be the genetics. Then they'll do. They'll follow their offspring. That move to a different part of the world within one generation their life span matches the place that they live

How to Get a Great Podcast Coach
"I used to play a little bit. I don't know if you know this. But i used to play a bit. In the online business will actually have gone online business. we captive but he's podcasting software as service sas as we call. And what. I'm talking about when i say i used to play in the online business. World is that i used to be around people who've got online businesses but sell things that are a little bit less. I guess developmental. You know the sort of thing course. Mastermind of course coaching. And it's a nice space to live in but it's pretty hard to scale now look at any online business person who sells those things. The smart ones diversify into other more sustainable revenue channels in the mall. Suppose the mall. Blink could ones try to just keep filling the funnel of new clients all up selling to current clients like yourself. Maybe the you know work with someone they keep trying to sell you stuff and i talked last week about why. That might not be great for you. But last week. I talked about how to spot the red flags in podcast coach and really is a distinction between these two types of people. So i taught you about those those red flags. Okay but how do you start to identify a good podcast coach. Well let me give you my take on number one. This is what they do. Okay this is what they do the thing that they are selling to you. They do every day themselves so for some online business people. Coaching is aware to support their income or bridge. Financial gap is the lowest hanging fruit when it comes to making money because they've already got the scalable and saleable knowledge and all. They've got to do his package. It up into something. That's clearly positioned marketed and pretty easily understood him. Then by creating some content like a podcast on youtube channel and some blockbuster rank on google by creating that content that then positions demos just enough of an expert so that they can papa lead magnet on their website. That might sound like how. I started my podcast in just three minutes. Get my exact play about now. And then what they do. Is they warm you with some emails that they can make some sales. They can sell you on it okay. There's nothing wrong with that. That's how it works after all but as a podcast you don't want someone who uses coach into bolsa their revenue and to keep themselves afloat enough to do the thing that they really want to do. No no you need. A coach does coach in for a living someone who lives breathes and lives podcast in who focuses on maintaining their knowledge in industry and building quality deep depresses for their podcast. Coaching endeavors now. Suppose the easiest way to articulate. This is to just get yourself to answer this question. Ask yourself this. Would you rather work with podcasting expert. Who coaches or coach an expert who has decided to coach on podcasting. Because he's trendy.

Using AI vs Content Creators For Newsletter Content
"I am ben amazed and ensuring you have to in the past year. The advanced. That have happened within ai. And i met with a fabio and it was really impressive to me that they are creating content. Be a not people. Writing is a hundred percent. Ai created and that notion that you can create in that way versus staggering as second as you read it and you go through all of the different newsletters that they have. It is absolutely impressive. Yeah i mean. I think that the artificial intelligence ability to understand signals in data is obviously something that humans can't compete with looking at the data. You can collect out of a social media network. How many times somebody tweets who that person is. What is the responsiveness of their audience to that content those all create data signals. And you essentially package up that information to figure out what is the most interesting content on the flip side. There's another model which i mentioned earlier. Brian lead up from the sounds. Profitable podcast something that i follow which is following the ad tech in the podcast industry. Somebody's got to create the content themselves. And that's an example of a creator pouring blood sweat and tears over an industry that they want so at some point you have to have the subject matter experts to filter so the answer is probably we need both. We need creators to create content than than we need artificial intelligence to sort through all the crap to figure out what's good to deliver it to the right person and the artificial intelligence is also creating the content it gets reinforcement by who is clicking on. What and figuring out. What kind of content should be sorted at wax. that there is no editor at essentials. At bobbio there are people who run the business people sales etc but it is a i within creative entity so the machines are taking over and they're creating the content now is this I think that there's two types of content. There is a link roundup. Hey we've gone through the internet. We've we figured out what the biggest best links are. We're gonna package those up and send them in a newsletter and that provides value because we're filtering through all the crap to bring you our audience the content that you want. That's why you subscribe to the newsletter. The part that's the most interesting. You don't need a writer to

"I read a line the other day. That i keep thinking about its from wendell berries novel hannah coulter that. I have been quoting a lot from lately. Here's the line. People are living as if they think they're in a movie. They're all looking in one direction toward a better place and what they see is no thicker than a screen. What they see is no thicker than a screen. I'd love to know what wendell berry had mind when he wrote that or rather what the character. Hannah had in mind when she thought it. But i deeply resonated with it. Even though i can't fully explain why. And maybe that's part of what i'm noticing myself over the last several months i'm resonating with a lot of things and holding pieces and parts fragments and flotsam. I'm collecting but i'm not arranging. And i like the collecting collecting as good and necessary collecting as part of what i do. I collect stories. I collect ideas images. Conversations beauty poetry and quotes but collecting is not. Creating collecting is not making to speak plainly. Y'all it's been a minute since i've made stuff and that is true. With two small exceptions one exception is actually this podcast for four years. These ten to fifteen minute podcast episodes have kept me sane crafting something with a bit of a slant something to help create space for your soul and mind to take a breath before we make our next move. I've loved doing this. I will love continuing to do this. But it's not very much content every week. Second as maybe silly as it sounds posts on instagram. Or something that i have continued to create. I don't post every day. But i do post every week and those small squares photos images and captions are form of making for me these days. Sometimes it's the only form. I get do right privately. And of course that counts too but it's inconsistent at best and i hope you don't hear this as a complaint but just a statement of the fax in two thousand nine paul. Graham wrote an excellent essay called schedule managers schedule every now and then i pull it up to read to remind myself no. I'm not crazy. And i haven't lost my creative edge. I've just become accustomed to working in a manner that is directly opposite from how i'm wired now if you've never read the essay. Here's the gist. Paul graham writes that there are basically two types of schedules amaker schedule and a manager schedule. Here's a quote directly from essay. The manager schedule is for bosses. It's embodied in the traditional appointment book with each day cut into one hour intervals. You block off several hours for a single task if you need to but by default you change what. You're doing every hour when you use time that way. It's merely a practical problem to meet with. Someone finds an open slot in your schedule. Book them and you're done

"There's really only two types of annuities that have fees, variable annuities and some optional income writer So I just think there's so much more education that needs to have Been around this subject of annuities because people are being very missing misinformed by some of these people on TV and and and other radio shows. That's funny. You make me think of two things one I've challenged. I mean, we're on the same station that that Ramsey's on and I've challenged him. Viz, Mr Information. About life insurance, and I challenged him to a debate. I still Dave Ramsey, we respect you Your best selling author really appreciate your your words on helping people get out of debt. But we we we want to challenge him again will challenge you to a debate on a station that we're both on. It would be listen to by millions of people on New York's flagship W. O R. And he's yet to debate me Tom, Yet he does not take the challenge. Can you believe that? And he? He personally owns cash value life insurance. That's what's so funny. He tells people only buy term, but he owns cash value life insurance, and somebody asked him that one time and he said, Oh, it's because my wife wanted me to or something like that. One time he was caught, and I commend them because somebody somebody found out and they asked them. And he was honest, which was good, and I mean it's crazy. So if it's good for the rich, why wouldn't it be good for me? You know, um as with any insurance or annuity, you want to make sure you understand surrender charges risks. Expenses fees all that stuff. So do your own due diligence. Yeah. What would you recommend on due diligence? You mention internal fees you talk about Single premium it single premium immediate annuities that have no fees. Fixed annuities have no fees. The generally the red headed step child of the annuity world tends to be the variable nudity. That's one Has the most fees, but that's because generally, you can have your money grow in the market and have a death benefit or an income benefit. Um, what do you got to watch out for when buying an annuity? Well, I mean, I think.

We've discussed before psychological issues like low self esteem poor body image or something like anxiety or an eating disorder at can affect sexual performance ability to orgasm. There are medical issues. Like denia niceness and difficulty producing lubrication to name a few a at twenty t analysis identified some top factors in sexual dysfunction relationship problems stress mental health issues. Poor physical health. Genetic urinary issues. Such as pelvic pain a history of abortion a history of female genital mutilation sexual abuse being religious. Perhaps due to sexual shame and stigma so the nelson's found that things like communication positive body image exercise. Masturbation can help improve sexual dysfunction. Some people experience depression sadness shame irritability crying self-loathing etc after orgasm achieved consensual pleasurable sex things. Like post-coital trustees or coil destroyer. Some studies suggest over half of women have experienced post-coital foia or cd at least once in a recent survey found that it often is linked more to one realistic expectations than underlying medical condition. "Building hardware or software may find ourselves bearing and spending a lot of time doing that but other than building the actual business doing things that are being resources that will bring us the money because with moment. It means we're going to get to more. Customers can go faster but sometimes not always sometimes we bury our heads into the work that we love doing. And we forget the things that need to be done. And so julius talk highlights that key point there it really kind of brought that concept in my into my mind and also what julia really does is she helps business as enterpreneurs transform the business with the power manifestation and this new neutrally but one of the things that really struck a chord with me when she was talking while she said sometimes you just have to let your inspiration guide right for action and the thought that was very very powerful as listen because if you want to build a business that speaks to your heart then your expiration should really be your guide because it's by doing the thing that really resonates with your heart. You feel satisfied in the services in product that you quit customs so that was very beautiful. End engaging conversations with These girls and i learned a lot. I got a lot of introspective. And i am hoping for you. You're able to think as you listen to. This enabled areas in your business. We can improve from london to right. And if you've specific set of questions that we can use fuel free to send me a voice message. And i'll do my best to tailor. My questions towards those now is the theme for this week. And before i go into that. If you haven't heard any of those podcasts. I want to listen to them is a ton of volume that they drop. Listen for the key. Action points right. What if the biggest action points that i took from all of these was why is internet or customer that was david trojan and when talking to diedhiou on things that i really learned was you know. Don't be quick dismissed because you failed the first time round right done be dismiss and they came to make sure you've done all those steps along the way. Don't wait do them then. Julia emphasized own. Try not to spend all your time doing work. And i think that's really important. I can't highlight enough. Why not doing work. Time is very important. Sometimes you just need to find the one big thing that been you get that done. Everything else is irrelevant. And i think for us and enterpreneur business your time man has. It's very important that you spend doing the one thing that nobody else can do. Only you can do it in your bills right and that one big thing is going to be that too much to take you. Eighteen to twenty hours a day right so the theme for this week's episodes this week's episode is going to be fantastic customers in which find them and just to recap we had talked about it hopes dreams warriors we talked about your ideal customers with created a very specific. Avatar customer avatar. Intraday what you're going to be going to deepen that concept so that can stack the process of targeting them right. We can't target customers on two minutes. Ten we know the recently by things that demographic and say graphics densify them but now we need to speak to them a message to address them in crowd of ogle. This people in old is online noise before we can address them. There are two things. There are two types of ideal customers right first. One is the idea customer. Who has a problem and is urgent is n- east and urgent need for solution. Should i said so. They have a very specific problem and they want to solve the second type of ideal customer. They're happy they've solve the problem but now they want to retain more happiness or pleasure or more better results so for example one ideal customer we Used was built. We created an avatar deal was our customer officer. Bill is married with a wife and their first child has his business owner. His business a new start up just few months old six months old. They're looking for leads and so far. Their lead has been inconsistent. Some days the lead. Some months don't and this is warring and frustration right. We went into more details specifically about his one's desires and all those dreams that he has but for this particular problem here. We know that bills. I if i do customer. Because he has an urgent need right. He meant getting customer fields painfully. Because he can see the loss of his tail. He's feeling because his wife stopped working when he started his business at his wife was putting the child in are they agreed on all these happy and hope this stuff however business generating considerable and bill feels about through his pockets. 'cause he needs those sailed right so that's the first half ideal customer who has a problem in the second terrified. Customer could be who say bill in six months time now. He's generating consistent leads every single day. Now that is good but he may want more leads to expand now notice. That pain is in there. You may have even more time to spend wife and and child at everything however he still needs more result. He's still wants more to go his business so even though he's feeling the pain is through. It was the same thing but for two different reasons. The first reason was to get in cash at the wi fi of closing down visit. The second reason is to getting more customers so they can now grow and expand. It can hire more people so that business can vote and so bill can get more of his dream. Dreams hopes right so the first half idea customer really has warriors right the cigarette ideal customer has worries but now they're focusing on the dreams sorta enough focusing their hopes and dreams so those are the two types so before we can go about looking for ideal customer whatev- learned these these are the type of ideal of our ideal customer or customer officer and you want to create codes content in everything the more we can address the specific type of customer avatar the better because as we said our customers are going to be by for very specific reasons if you can speak to them directly we can improve our conversions create better odds and really speak through that noise speak to them directly right because the last thing we want is for them to say no thank you for your service is not for me so the call to action for you for today ease decide which of the two is your ideal customer then go about creating a message with that in mind and that is really eat for this episode so i hope you enjoyed that. I'm really glad that my job is done. I thank you so much for tuning in episode of virtual enterpreneur and is always talk to you on our next episode. How To Know If Your Breakup Is Real Or Fake
"This week i want to talk about how to know if you're break-up is real or fake yes. There are two different types of breakup real ones and fake ones. Hopefully yours is a fake one. Usually they're not. But you have a much better chance again. You're back if it is a fake bake break-up because of course they really don't want to break up with you. It is eight manipulation and there are two types of manipulative fake breakup. There are the good kind of the bad kind. I don't sound strange. The good manipulation and the bad manipulation so the goodman manipulation would be and you sheets women that have to do this with guys to wake them up where they feel like. They're being taken for granted the non appreciated and so they just okay. That's it it's over and they're hoping that he will miss them and realize what she brings their life and come running back and say no. Please don't break up with me. So that would be one example of fake break-up that is for good purposes to wake up so he'll see what he's going to lose what he's going to be missing out on if they're not together. The bad manipulation is if someone feels like they're losing control over you the feel powerless and they're trying to get that power back and so they do the fake break of the go go's over and they hope that you'll deny no. Don't go with me. please stop onto. I'll do anything. And then they have the power

And i know every fake. That does get what he months closing his mind against. All that may tend to shake his purpose deem is vision and in addition to this we shall now see leaving act in a certain way of chapter ten the science of getting rich so now that we have milked into that chapter. You can see. It's really building from the previous chapters and these quite a lot of lessons there and this chapter was quite long. So what you gonna do. You're gonna keep my notes very short. And what i'm going to stop here. Is how some points in here relate to business today so this is what i have been learning in the world of business run that there are two types of business owners these those who build product i right and then try to find a customer. These is a business. I still. This is the product first enterpreneur or the put actress business owner and then there are those who find the customers and then build a final product for them sexually customers and these customers. I customer first business owners now it put first business owner and the customer first business owner a very different. And i'm gonna discussed the difference here but a very different from hearing on what the primary objectives One of them he's put up to i and the other one is a customer for. It is a customer. I in the out for us business owner one of the things that you'll notice these attend the lord into the cortex right and usually at the beginning enterpreneur or the business owner would know who the ideal customer would be the reason being because the efforts creating any number of products and then going to try and find someone more likely use the product right and so what tends to happen these come businesses that heavily invested in right and so and in terms of finding the customers takes hiring an external team try and find those customers and sell those products right in reach customs now this businesses do thrives as well as other types business then the other type business owner is the customer service business owner and these types of business owner vis business owner ten. Find the customer i right. And then exemple fish these ebay ebay was one of the few put off that sued as the website was up. I was lucky and the head for customer trying to use it right so the key difference here is that it was built around the customer so the put up to the business is already been built around the customer and these doesn't tend to have a lot of investment because as soon as fifth they're such rating on revenue growth and even if investments are made. There's already customer base bottom and because it has paying customers from day one it can be very very easily built and very good place to start and see the difference between product for customer business. First customer is if you read the book they one hundred doorstep by crease columbia as really difficult last name to pronounce. Hey you tried that. Look talk about these issues dot and grown. But they're only built by hundred dollars or less and this is true of many businesses today including feed marketing. But only if you know why did he is that you're doing and the reason why i want to talk a business first enterpreneur so the put up first enterpreneur classroom entrepreneur is because way the focus is. That's the result who come from right so when you focusing on the sale where the sales made that means week. Focus on the classroom. I that's where the sales and made right. That's where the money reads. And that's what makes business grew so it caught auction from today is ask us of what he's looking for that. Why it is that you want and to really try and strip out anything else and focus on the thing that you want the biggest lesson i've learned from my last mentoring. Business was a term sale generating activity. Ross you've built all the systems for tanning. At prospecting customer the goal becomes to focus on sales generating activities. That is a goal in the courtroom. Today focused on what. I have made episode very low. Thank you so much for tuning in today's episode. From whatever you are around the world i will talk to you.
