When Dr. Steven Notley Realized He Discovered Biblical Site Bethsaida
"Deal. My guess is doctor Steve notley, who has discovered biblical Beth saga. And again, we always have to frame this so people can understand how amazing this is. We did not know where one of the major cities mentioned in the New Testament in the gospels where Jesus is there all the time in Peter and Andrew it's a fishing village. We didn't know where it was. We know now where all these other places are, but only recently have we have you, sir, determined that this place, which we didn't look at until recently, this place is where it all happened. When did you know that you had it right? Second season, 2017, we excavated. We were digging down through the layers through crusader, Byzantine, and went down to the Roman layers, which was New Testament period. And we found a Roman bathhouse, which was people were shocked. But it actually fits the description. Josephus talks about Beth zeta being made into a Roman polis by Herod Phillip, who was the son of Harry the great. Who was evil? Yes. And his son, again, Philip, took this little village and transformed it and made it into a small city of bolus. And this is the first evidence of urbanization in the region, but this is after the apostles era. Yes. Probably 30 around 30, something like that. 30, 31, something along that AD. AD, sorry. Oh, so it's right at the time of sort of transitioning time that Jesus is there. Jesus they're right as that transformation is starting to take

Something the assumption is the members of the orchestra. No what the diversity equity and inclusion so there have been some questions will. Who is the person here. Jared Dudley Joining Jason Kidd's Coaching Staff With Dallas Mavericks
"Dudley has agreed to become an assistant coach with the mavericks. The forward spent the last. Two seasons with the lakers. And lebron wasn't thrilled about seeing him. Depart lebron tweeted quote congrats to my guy if this is true which it probably is but face palm. Emoji man leap. I'm getting good at reading. Lebron's tweets if i do say so myself shannon. Are you surprised by how hard we're onto this no Because a lot of times you look at the bubble. You never saw lebron without jared dudley. Anthony davis around when you see them out a group setting was normally. They're duds now what they call the dude anyways. Get so for me. I'm not surprised. Lebron lebron lebron geico's two guys. He understands they're gonna be tired that they leave and is always it's hard but that doesn't make it it. It's the right thing for a deadly to do at this point in time scale but that doesn't make it any easier on

LeBron James Reacts to Amassing Zero Votes for NBA's Best Player
"So we see this tweet from NBA Central 10 Scouts and executives voted on the best players heading into the 2021 2022 season. Yanez five votes, Kevin Durant five votes and LeBron James zero votes, and I guess this poll was done. Via ESPN, and LeBron sees it. And LeBron, of course, has to respond to it. Now let me remind you This was a few weeks back. Where the trade did go down with Russell Westbrook. And then the Lakers also acquired Carmelo Anthony LeBron James took to Twitter and you may not remember this tweet because he posted and then quickly deleted it and LeBron James said. Keep talking about my squad. Our age is the way he plays. He stays injured. We're past our time in this league, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Do me one favor, please. And I mean, please keep that same narrative energy. When it begins. That's all I ask. Thank you. I think he meant negative energy, but he he wrote narrative energy. Or maybe they're supposed to be a comma or period somewhere in that place. But you get the point. LeBron James, and I don't have a problem with him using this as motivation, right? Sometimes you use things as motivation. And you go. Yeah, that's not authentic. Like. Does anyone seriously believe that the Lakers don't have a shot to get to the NBA Finals this year? Especially with how I just laid it out. The Lakers just won a championship two years ago. Right? So now I'm going to say after one season later. Headed into them. It would be two seasons later. Oh, yeah. LeBron and Anthony Davis. No shot to win a championship like give me a break. And today LeBron sees this poll done by ESPN and he goes. Thank you. As if I didn't need more fuel if I didn't need more gas to fuel me. And then hashtag. Wash King.
Terry Rozier Agrees to Four-Year, $97 Million Extension With Charlotte Hornets
"Getting paid in a major way. I was not expecting Terry to get the Supermax contract extension, but he did. $97 million over the next four years for Terry Rozier with the Charlotte Hornets. Terry had a great run at Louisville still holds the record for most points, scored in a season by a sophomore and had a great run in Boston. It was fun watching him play not only get a lot of minutes for a good team that was in contention, but the Celtics that was a great run they had, and he was a big factor in that. He goes to Charlotte. I think in his first year little underwhelming, they paid him a lot of money and then kind of quietly in his second season with the Hornets this past year, I had a really good year averaged 20 points per game shot 45% from three and I think it didn't get as much attention because the rookie on his team Lamelo ball ended up winning. Uh, the The rookie of the year, But yeah, Terry getting paid in a major way. That's uh,

Which is where hassle gets most of his action. He's appeared in just five games in the past two seasons. Just one This past season, But the 41 year old would become just the fifth player to spend an entire career of at least 19 years with one franchise. Dirk Nowitzki spent all 21 in Dallas, Kobe Bryant spent 20 with the Lakers. Tim Duncan 19 seasons with the Spurs and John Stockton, 19 with the Utah Jazz SportsCenter all night,
Is Ted Lasso Kid Friendly?
"Have you been watching. Ted lasso season to happen watching washington lasso season. Too rough set up. They've taken it way down. I think they were too popular with evangelical christians and traditional catholic so they decided to drive us away. I can't believe is that. I don't know if that's the case i mean i think it's it's i am still enjoying it. I don't know if it's If you know quite quite it's a slightly different Show in the second season. 'cause it's not like purely optimistic and upbeat there you have kind of a. You have mean guy coached coach lead tasso right the Oh you've got a very dark turn to the roy character. You got more f bombs. Kurt schlichter extra told me he's got too much profanity for him. And he swears like a sailor. Anna colonel you've got a lot more sexuality. I could no longer recommended for a family and i think that i think is oh. The writer's room. The show runner got too much positive feedback from people like me. I don't want those people watching my show all rough it up so much that you won't watch it anymore. I mean there is if there's a fair amount of cursing in the first season guys right can't has always been one with the the s bombs. I mean i. I would not eleven and nine year old girl sunny. Yeah i mean it's yeah it's it's it's it's i think it's kinda funny because it you know unusual to see a footballer of that sort cursing at Little girls instead of You know the the grownups that he's usually around but it's it's just a i. I can understand what you're saying. I see what you're saying

Captain Carter Is the Crux of Marvel’s ‘What if…?’ Animated Series
"Know you are at this article unlash slash on my lincoln in the show notes The title is captain. Carter's crux of marvel's what if animated series and will return in future seasons. So this is what. I was alluding to earlier. When i was like. You know the choice to make this exit. One is kind of unfortunate but it also seems like it was necessary because she is a pivotal character. Can you talk a little bit about that. Oil learned. yeah you know. They didn't really dig into the specifics of it too much but they used her as this. You know launching points on to create a universe because it's not only. Is this the first story that we've seen As far as the marvel cinematic universe chronological. Timeline is concern You know it's obviously will will learn soon that the attorneys have been around for a lot longer. But captain america is still the first injure and now captain carter is the first adventure. So there's that but apparently there will be something that will see as time goes on that makes captain more important to the kind of stories that they're telling in. What if because not only will she obviously come back in some capacity when you consider the end of this episode. And the fact that we've seen her you know in a shot with doctor strange and that shot with you know the presumed new avengers but they said that She will also be returning in future seasons of marvel's what if and they're already working on a second season in the show show she'll have a story that will continue much in the same way that captain america story continued once he was brought back from being frozen for all that time
Andrew Rannells: From Book of Mormon to Modern Love
"So like many people remember seeing seeing the tonys in two thousand eleven and soon after you popped up on girls. Hbo and have gone onto this largely tv and film career. Was that the plan all along. Did you want to transition eventually to tv while you were doing theater and doing the show. No not exactly. I mean i had wanted to be on broadway since i was a kid. And my dream had always been beyond broadway and to be a leading man on broadway and i the opportunity to replace a couple of shows than when i did that a couple times. I was like really like to do a new one. That would be nice. So i took some some time to focus on just trying to find new musicals that that i could come into to new york with and debut on broadway and it happened that it was the book of mormon every few years. There's a broadway show. That sort of attracts the attention of the west coast. It happened with rent in. It happened with certainly with hamilton and the book of mormon was also one of their shows. And if i'm being totally honest. I'd film two seasons of girls and then had done a pilot with ryan murphy for show called the new normal that was picked up and was going to be on. Nbc and i was still doing the book of mormon. While i was doing all of that i was still in the show. I didn't know that. Yeah and i was able to continue to do it. And then it got picked up. And then i had to move. I had to move to los angeles and it was an opportunity. That was too good to not pass up and it was not necessarily. The tv stuff was not necessarily always on my radar. I really just wanted to do theater
Dallas Cowboys to Be on HBO's 'Hard Knocks' for Third Time
"In hard knocks with the Dallas Cowboys as they report to camp tomorrow, by the way, so this is their third time. The Cowboys first appeared on hard knocks in 2002 and finished with a five and 11 record that season. Yeah, Uh, they then appeared a second time in 2008. And they missed the postseason with a nine in seven record. With an uber talented team that was done in partly because of locker room turmoil. Now it is the second season. Under a really a new head coach Mike McCarthy. I mean, last year was his first year with the team. And you know he had injured quarterback last year in Dak Prescott. We saw that just gruesome ankle dislocation injury, which was rough, and, um, There you go. They're gonna be on it for a third time. So you said there are things that we are not

Marc Jacobs Runway Sets Bergdorf Goodman as Exclusive Retail Partner
"Jacobs is partnering with bergdorf goodman as the designers exclusive retail partner. So marc jacobs skipped the past two seasons of showing a collection which is significant. He presented his fall collection at the new york public library and projected the runway show on the building of bergdorf goodman on fifth avenue simultaneously which is pretty dope. It marks the beginning of a partnership between the designer and a store. Just a new iteration with that. Because he's been a part of that store for a long time bergdorf goodman will be the exclusive retailer to sell his runway collection. This fall it will be in stores and online and october jacobs said that the store has been a supporter of his since the mid nineteen ninety s the bergdorf goodman fashion director. Linda fargo said quote. I think we've had him at bergdorf since the mid nineteen ninety s. And as far as i'm concerned he's as much a part of the fabric of the store as the main floor chandelier adorable compliment to be compared to a lamp. I may add like you all sparkley. You are part of this building. The collection will not be available in jacob's own stores. That's this significant like they are the exclusive partner. His stores will only feature his contemporary. The marc jacobs line his street. Where line haven or his off price
Interview With Mae Martin From the Series 'Feel Good'
"We treat yourself. I always guests introduce themselves are now remembering we. Did this. live the live episode. We did it live at the london. Podcast festival yeah. I feel like this is more the the true the true essence of the now. We're getting that's exact now. It's like now we're going to get one but like let's do the real one. Yeah now do the real shot I'm martin i'm a comedian and other often. I'm having a pretty good pretty time in life. It's a nice day. Yeah yeah he's talking to you. I'm going to be talking to you too. You gotta show. You've show that's great. Thanks that's probably. I'm sure there's probably a high crossover between people who listen to your chest. Podcast in and watch your show. That feels like i think you're right. I just straight up black dot just to yeah just a one to one that ven diagram is just a circle. I think and i remember the last time we talked you. Were like so. What have you got going on. And i couldn't. I can say it had been. I wasn't allowed to set but since then done two seasons. Yeah and actually because the second season is just coming out. Now we're like came out last week or something like that timing. I watched it. But i have but i love the first season and i'm very excited to find out what continues to happen. Thanks yeah it's it's it's a rocky road but i think it's a satisfying ending because that's it now. I'm not going to do a third one bedroom. Yeah that's it. We only have just. Yeah just like a love story with the proper ending. That's wonderful. yeah so mean financially not wonderful. But i don't know that's stupid but creatively. It's you know it's cool. Because i think if you if you were to keep just throwing throwing problems at one couple you'd have to like every at the beginning of every season you have to undo all the personal growth that those characters made just eternally and i wanted them to actually grow and then leave them in a pretty good place.

"Again they are dummies. Like i do believe that you could get one over on them You certainly could. These would be the type of people that i think they want to be there. Yeah no it's not like they heard it was to handle and we're like well. I'm a leaving. Yeah but they're all reacting no kids not to to handle. Oh yeah someone says. This is not what we signed up for. Larussa says is signed up for dick and melinda goes. No morning boehner. Yeah and then. And then. that's when lana drops the bomb that they can't even have self-gratification that is i think we're everyone really loses it Which was part of the rules last season. Lana says welcome to your long hot sexless summer. I'm but again. This is like a three week thing. If even i think last year we also speculated that this was not actually three weeks. Yeah that's true. It's eight days or whatever and they're telling us three weeks. I think they could be lying. The we did anybody last year. Get dinged for a not being master of their own domain now because they are willing participants they didn't have to be doing stuff on their own. Yeah i think that that would be probably very embarrassing to then like try to end up getting outed four. Okay well all right. Peter you're be pedal would be. Peter wouldn't it's like everybody's like oh. What did he do like. Well peter tapes. Well that's like. I feel it would have been you know last season haley. And francesca just to lose the the group money out of spite and maybe would have just been easier for them to Have some solo. Fine jar okay. Well for spike concept. Do you have for spite. Okay all right anything else from episode number one of too hot to handle season two now. I think we've beat. This episode was a lot of fun. It's incredible so curson. Where where are we going from here. How are you going to tackle the rest of this. Yes so obviously. People are hearing this on wednesday. The twenty third of june one the show has premiere episodes. Two three and four are going to be covered. We're gonna record on friday. June twenty fifth as we're going to record that it's going to be myself Who was advocating and haley. Strong talk about the rest of batch one. Yes okay and talk about all the philophical boys all the philophical boys that back. Reuniting the dream team from the finale coverage last year then june thirty one show. You're going to talk about the rest of this week. Yeah the rest of this week is just one more show okay. Then on the following week when the last six episodes drop so we're gonna record an episode on the first three of those within the first about forty eight hours of those being online. We're gonna record. We haven't set the specific time but it will be happening either. June thirtieth or july first it will be recorded and then going to wrap up the series. The season probably june july third. We'll be when we record the final podcast on the last three episodes. If i can keep up. I'd love to be back on a panel with along the way i mean. If you decide to keep up you have an open invitation really comes down to like how into the show is the first lady of podcasting going to be. This is something that she'll put on at nighttime and watch a lawsuit she gets it like. I hate these people so much. I can't watch this But other times tire yeah. She's might be a little bit more like she wants them but he's willing to look at them. What's your prediction on her reaction to these people. I think she wants to hate watching. Judge them okay. I can't believe they're doing this all this rump. -i puppy going on. That's my.

"Like them. I'm going to be a little bit more tentative. But i do feel like lord of the rings. I think that that could be adopted. Laying can figure it out When they kissed there were sitting so far apart like they had to lean in like two feet to get their faces to each other. Which i thought was funny. They used social distancing. And i think that's what probably not probably what dr fauci intended. Yeah if you sit six feet apart you're fine. So are you ready for the big party. Animal party. But just before that i would just need to mention that melinda and marv to have and yeah the for emily and yes a little clap little clap. It's the only time it's a good thing. Yeah okay they seem like a nice couple two. I stand yeah so who is not booth up yet. Right peter nathan kayla kayla larisa oliseh. Could you can you see a pair. You put these together. We're about laura and nathan. Oh he's not a brunette now. Now learned peter. Maybe this is a big age difference. They're not that it's the biggest but it would be the biggest age difference in the cast. She's the oldest at twenty eight and he's the youngest at twenty one o l as a twenty eight year old woman. I disavow that couple. I i wouldn't want to be in the same room as twenty one. I just feel like that. I could that i just feel like that. Even melinda her being with peter. But i feel like that larisa. I feel like that of anybody seems like that. She's looking for somebody. Who is it might be a little bit more of a grownup one. She's legally blonde like she has her life together. Yes yes she. Also legally horny with that. Also just legally blonde and legally illegally horny. Yeah no legally what that means. She likes burgers too much also to be awful once she was like. Oh my god. This is like the hottest ever but then as it's playing out of everyone is more attracted to other women than her. Yeah and she's another one not not too much personality. She's a ton of personality. I mean know. I guess she did say that. She signed up for dick later so i don't think you can have more personality than more personality. All right let's get to the big party. Carnival was my least favorite part of the episode. Because i feel like we get this on every single one of you shows like ooh everybody's drinking now. Oh truth or dare okay. Like pick a person and walk up and make out with them. Yeah i.

"Super spreader. Yeah i talked about the bedroom situation. Like very briefly Mostly just so that the women talk about how they wake up h word the hump people. Well i think that the humping is happening not even awake from melinda. It seemed like melinda was talking about like a nocturnal emission. Who does the impression. I should very Like many of the contestants very erotic dreams yes but the best part of that that allowed onto the handle i mean. Do you have control over that. I'm sure all of the men are having a similar situation by the week to. Yeah well i don't know that. Are we going to find out that. What's the air fresheners name. Lana lana islam. You can remember because it's anal backward. Okay for now. Never forget it now. But it's say like i actually we were detected during your sleep last night. This look at this footage. The deduction is two hundred and fifty dollars. Yeah look at way. Yeah i you can't really ding them for that. Like it's not their fault hand but i like how melinda brings it up and then the other women are like what i said. Only that happened to me only and not anybody else. It's like yes all experienced humanitarian. Says like it happens. Happens people What's ex carly and chase into each other that use a battle a chase for carly because we have to Battering rams of both chase and nathan have the hots for carly but chases way out in front that joe's carly seems to have almost no interest in an again nathan. I don't think i'm going to remember. Nathan is and weeks chase really goes for with carly chase over Nathan probably me to fix chain. They're they're very flirty. I like last year. We saw someone being like. Oh you've got sweat on your upper lip. Let me get rid of that and the good way to like go in for the cast. But this one just like oh. Your lips looked so soft. Oh your lips look so soft. Oh Which i guess is more normal. I don't know then. This came right after nathan. Did his strip tease on carly which she did not work and so chase Goes in for the kill here carly Says repeatedly sheet of felt like the chase could throw her around ca. I don't think she expected to throw herself around. Because she basically gets can cost a paging. Dr amanda rabinowitz people in this couple have cte now because he's got.

"Normal. And then she said she thinks about sex all day every day. that's all there's no really the secret meaning of the yes. That's all that's all she thinks about. She is room for nothing else. No what was your profession a model slash bartender. Okay but yeah so. She's really like a an absolute zero Yeah so she didn't really bring anything to the table. You know very attractive woman to be on the show but she didn't hit it off with anybody now says no personality. I think she's always been hot. Yeah then marvin from parallel marvin. Yeah marvin was. They treated kells the same way last season where he was the person who they had everybody and then wait. What's this like. The last person entered the royal rumble. And then here comes marvin. Yes but unlike kells. Marvin has hit it off with some women whereas cal's i don't think really. He was very standoffish. Like he was all about the money he was the accountant to ought to handle. Not like a tiktok accountant like real accountant. Yeah we're marvin has like a degree of charm. That was just like. Hey i'm hot on the alpha male and you know that i'm alive. I could have any woman. I one and i'm here to make money. That was killed last season. Which and how happy do you think he was with his five dollars. He made at the end of the day. Here here earned. It should have gone a bigger portion of the prize because he really like kept things under control last year. Marv says a he can dougie and stuff so he's impossible for him to come home from the club alone for him Yeah which i think probably has advantages and disadvantages like do you think. It's impossible in that like he always wants to take someone we always does or is it like a curse where like sometimes good native sleep and then it's like wow. I can't leave without a one. He could just not go to the club but what you expect him not to go to the club Is he going to do. I mean every single time he goes he has to like. Somebody's gonna follow him home like a stray cat. Honestly find.

I guess more than food waste doesn't even know there's thirsty drunk people. Yeah if you have a drink he's gonna pour it on himself. Well i hope to never meet him then because if somebody took my drink imported out i'd be like listen. We've got a problem here. What do you think the casting for too hot to handle was like was it. Just scroll through Tiktok and instagram. They probably did some jock instagram scrolling. I think they probably turned on that global tender to move them all over the world. And then what do you think the interview process was like facetime a flow facetime basically like hey show us what you look like in a bathing suit Tell us like three dating stories. Yeah yeah i think the. I don't even think they went that far. Okay i think it was very very simple process. No all right. So how about the. Peter went up to camp. Send up a bottle of wine and then let's see what happens walking around. Yeah okay. i don't know who needs to hear this message. Yeah okay so. I think that were cross. The that one was easy to fix world. Peace solve said learn. Type is brunette banter. Vol's yes. I heard about the four bs earlier. This week On the love. I guess it just takes all types Yeah complete auto cross promotion yet. It's slow podcasts. Are being recorded on the same day for me but yeah that that's what she's looking for the three three bs that he has to be brunette has to be able to give good banter and then balls. Goodness actual account has followers. Okay good i got faked out. Yeah you i was like the first result when you look at him up. A fan page Oh but do you know what he did own now. What did he do. Yeah i'm not that excited about cheese or penguins. Penguins cute he also has cameo. How much do you think he charges. Kanye charge a lot. Twenty five bucks. Um where does it say zero salary cap. "That is what she said and died a little peek behind the curtain forever. And as we watched this show together on zoom so we could podcast. I think both of us had a reaction to a set of open legs of oh never heard anyone say that. Before no divert. People's they're an open book. Jessica not jessica emily. Emily not know what a buck is saying rocker. So emily is very excited to be there so we then we get a pair of guys chasing kamm who both ended up doing a lot of screen time. Yes so chase is a professional football player but what we find out over. The course of this episode is he plays in the canadian football league. Not the same. It is fully the actually. The sport itself is different with like the dimensions of the field cetera. And i've done wider field. Yes tell us about chase. I so he is on the montreal. Alouette yes and again so the cfl has very strict celery caps. So typically. if you're a canadian football player you don't really make that much money over leg if you just have a normal career. Average salary for montreal is eighty one thousand years so more than i thought. Some of the teams have an average salary forty k. And it's like yeah. I'm a professional athlete. But they make like minimum wage. Okay so chased more. He is on twitter. Kirsten how many twitter followers for at chase demore one thousand two hundred no to fifty seven. No two hundred fifty seven Yeah oh no. So.

"One hundred percent but i also think it will be. I think that this is going to be a more sexually active season than last year because again quarantine. Maybe these people have had less opportunity to lead the freak. Probably not as people. But i would think that people in general i mean no one from florida but like i think some of these people probably had to actually quarantine you think you're going to have to quarantine for fourteen days before the show started. Let you know what that's a long time for these people to be away from yeah was in season one the even though it aired for us during quarantine that i'm not sure when it was filmed it was certainly film. Pre cove it. yes it was. Yeah nathan is from england but lives in texas. He says that there are two fantasies. The girls have british guy and cowboy. So he's gonna do both. Is that true canada. Also i think that a british guy people are interested in cowboy. I think is more hit or miss. I think there's probably other fantasies out there. I don't know yes. he said. There are two fantasies british guy in cowboy with the number one Sexy male costume in canada sexy male costs down. You go to a bachelor party in. Canada stripper shows up at the door. What is he a mountie now. Oh no not a man. And he. Maybe i've i don't know i've never been at a bachelorette party where we had a male stripper We've heard stories i. I don't know if that's like as much of a thing here. I feel like that's just on. Tv it's us thing. And maybe i don't know Not as certainly not a cop maybe. A firefighter always a crowd pleaser. Yeah i think that that's probably the number one. Yeah okay. i don't know apparently though if you're english only to say either. Good morning or harry potter. yes do you think. The male exotic dance review was hit. Hard by cove it. Yeah probably think so tough. That's a tough industry and kobe. I you have to do a lot of zoom strip teases i'll maybe only fans came to prominence at a time where they might be able to get something else going on. I know there are zoom lake. Strip shows that you can purchase tickets to go to to support question work kirsten. How many of the contestants from too hot to handle to will happen only fans by the end of the season. Ooh i bet a bunch of them already. Do i guarantee you that several of them had one going and that's probably actually the motivation to go on. The show is to get more people to subscribe to their only fans because last season were how many. How much are they charging on cameo a while now they have a real way to monetize. Like i think that's the play. Spend all the money onto ought the handle and you are going to have a lot of success. you'll make it back on the fan fans on the back end. Yeah and that's like i a lot of rallies stars are going the onlyfans route because i just sexy makes good money. Yeah let's see. Yes so sharon. That was one of the guys we can remember that. From last season he already is on the only fans. Oh yeah according to this article from screen rant weird that screen rant is writing about onlyfans Yeah so yeah. I'm sure that you will easily make that money back up. Just like You know go rump puppy as long as you want in the too hot to handle house because investment i know harry from to handle season one also i think is only fans and i think he's like one of those only fans scammers where the pictures he posed only fans are like basically the same thing you get on instagram three. Yeah i. I would never do that on on mine. Got to create the original. It'd be original content. You gotta do that come on. That's you know. If you're gonna monetize you gotta do something. You don't have to do the full ozzy by sweet. Yeah yeah if you became a patron. And i just put out the same podcast that i was already putting the main. I mean a lot of patriots on podcast. Do that where they put the exact same podcast but no ads and it's like yeah you get them without ads on patriots on Okay should i do that. Honestly i mean maybe i think most of your patrons are like we want to support rob so we want to hear the ads the products. Okay well. I don't know if people are purchasing the products. Let's not get carried away. I mean. I think some people are purchasing the what it is. I feel like you're a beach body on demand influence her Yeah all right. Well let's get back to the show that people may or may not even want to hear about some nathan decides to compare carleen melinda's yeah. That was very forward. I thought i was like what's going on here and carly's like all things moving in his pants Already you who was he going for it. It was basically like he was like a sampling. Like the produce of. Let me see you n you at the same time. Yeah he's like okay. Well let's let's compare size shape muscular structure. Let's see how these compare. And i think that he declare a winner. I don't think he took him declare winner. Think that would've probably been a bad move more to instantly say who has a better bites but then it doesn't even matter because emily comes in and he instantly wanted to also sample her. But yeah and here comes emily. Where's emily from and lee. He's from the uk in the uk. But i don't think she specifies exactly where Let's see if we can find. Wikipedia has her from london part of london. Soul article about everything you need to know. Let's see in london an wherein london in some of her pictures. She kind of looks. Like austin from bbc n nine okay. Yeah here's emily she's a she's into everything she's greedy and she describes herself as a set of.

"Different rules. Yeah it started in twenty twenty and then they're like yeah. This is based off of seinfeld episode But all right so here we are with a ten new people a feeling that we have more like couples out the gate than we did the start last season. Yeah it seems like are already paired off which is going much more difficult for them to not get physical. I do also just. I need to call attention again at the this show called Intercourse ropy pump. Being first two minutes of the show and i just think that needs to be on the record. Yeah because it's so many things that happened in this episode. We're very troubling to me. Yeah there was. The there many euphemisms that. I had not heard before this episode. So you are very firmly in the camp of to rump. be puppy. I think that that We we should not be saying. I don't say super hot superspreader. Don't say run. Be pump the It's possible that is that like a british colloquialism the rump panty. I watched a of slang is rhyming. Cockney yeah apparently it is british slang looking. I've they don't say that on love island. Well love island. I think is probably the classier of these shows right. Yeah i island two k. has like some lasting relationship. some marriages So it definitely has worked but there's also been ulmer tragedy with love island so it's hard to balance now here. The premise of the show is that they do try to couch. It in that there is a moral here of these people are just giving into their of carnal delights and that they need to learn to like you know it's not all about just the the tangible parts of a relationship. Well yeah it's basically like. Oh all you do is have casual relationships. You never like let anybody and you never have a meaningful relationship. So we're gonna do is we're gonna put i ten of the most sexed up individuals all in one place and tell them no. Sex sex is off the table and see if they are able to grow and develop and learn how to have a meaningful relationship. They're also you as per lassie's season. There's going to be a little workshops where they're they're gonna do challenges. I don't remember. I think there's like yoga. I don't know they did some weird stuff last season yoga or yoni. I think both i don't have yoga. And andy oni. Yeah so the exercise. I think we're the worst part of the show last season. Yeah they did it. I think they did a bad job with them. I think you have to just let these characters really shine. The problem is is that when you are looking for these super super sexy people. They don't always necessarily have the personality to back it up. It really depends on if they've always been sexy or if they became sexy later on. Because like if you start out not sexy you have to have a personality. But if you've always been hot you can just rely on your looks and you never have to do any better. Which is more likely to succumb to the temptation of the Too hot to handle island at tough. Because i feel like if you haven't always been hot and now you're with all these hop people you're like still made me feel like you're not that hot nearly coming god. I'm here and everyone so hot. I want to hook up with everyone. I don't know it's hard. It's hard to say Yeah we'll see. do you feel like. Is there a person here that you had to guess who is. Who is the late bloomer. In the group eater. Peter because his whole thing is oh. If you're confident the lender why is he so confident. And i think if he recognized himself as a hobby he wouldn't think that people are curious about why he is not an end. I didn't find that. Peter was somebody who i thought had that kind of self awareness to know whether or not that there was a point where he was not high than he is hot. I'm peter looked scared the whole time. Did you notice. He genuine fear in his eyes. I thought Yeah well i think the fear comes from that heat does not seem to be on anybody's radar. Yeah well he's the tiktok zone probably thought that he'd be on everybody's for you page and he's just not coming up like if there was a guy draft like in the episode of one tree hill that i watched this week I think that peter would certainly be taking fifth out of five. I'm trying to think react separate case to we shall we. Maybe just go through the cat. Go for it. Yeah let's go through the cast. So i'm i've got a lot and some people really were like who are they. What do they do well. Yeah at the end of the episode. You said that kayla purple kayla all right so kayla go through. Let's talk about them in the order that so we started on carleen melinda who both screen time. So yes melinda. I is a model from your. She needs to be adored. She needs compliments yes touched her hair touch. This woman's hair which honestly understandable i feel like people probably tried to get all up in that letter. Let let her hair being bite if you want. Smack her ass. She's interested in that that's she makes very clear from the jump. She's opened to it. She's open to carly says that she is a man eater and that she hates rules does not follow them and that she wants cheated on a boy with her ex in front of her boyfriend at a bar So a winner yet and she likes bald guys but there were no bald man in the cast according to the host of the show the narrator yes i think her name is desert who despite sounding remarkably like the woman who is the narrator on the circle is not the same person yes so for to to handle desert birch does the voice overs and the circles does michelle tell So yeah they do have similar voices yes and intonations and it's almost like though. I think that whoever is coaching the netflix's reality. Tv division voice over department like okay. This is exactly how we're doing it. This do voice over on our shows. I think they're probably getting very similar coat. Coaching very similar like examples of why they should sound like maybe they showed desert. Burge the circle. I'm more like we want you to do it. Like this Yeah i do think that the narrator on this had a little more leeway. I think she was doing more bits than they were doing on the circle. Yes i do think that there's a level of freedom with show too hot to handle where you can just really throw whatever the wall and see what sticks people i think. Really look at the circle as being having a little bit more integrity. Yes yes i would say too hot to handle openly has disdain for its contestants where the circle wants us to love. it's contestants. Yeah and i think the circle wants us to take it more seriously whereas other handles like this is our summer fund. Like we're having a fun summer I think the circle is also a little bit more. Where like oh we're learning. It's an experiment we're seeing. It's a social media. Experiment of what can social media teach us. This is very much. Like what could we try to teach these horrible people these people. They never even tried our relationship. They're just horrible. Celebs dongguan them. Yes yes case. The nathan comes in so they did a very interesting. They introduced people in a weird way where they brought in like you think maybe they bring it all the women than all the men or like alternate but no it was like women one man more women like they switched off last year too. I don't remember last job. It's been the lars larson year at least five years. Okay yeah it's not. It's not my fault that i don't remember. I remember like six contestants I bet the casting for this was actually a lot easier than in a normal year where it's like. Hey we wanna fill me on an island where we're going to see if you could potentially a resist temptation. It's like oh quarantine. i'll go.

And you're gonna you're gonna probably hear it a lot so a warning. Yes and the h word is herpes. Sorry sorry this is too hot to handle to where which to me. I think of it as like the number too hot to handle like fast and the furious two fast two furious. This would be a good test for the contestants onto hot. The handles where they get like a blank hot blank handle blank and then they put it in front of the t. o. T. o. T. w. well cans educated so he would get Yes okay but in criminology. And lord of the rings how is weird jump. Too far the i'd maybe i'm just built different but i just have no interest in someone doing a gall impression at anytime you. What year is this like this. This filmed recently and what he chose to do. Yeah so let's just get this all set up too ought to handle to. This is the show if you're just listening to the guests This is auto playing. Whatever you listen to last welcome aboard. We're talking about a show where the net netflix has sent a hot people who are very thirsty to an island and then they tell them they can't do anything and they trick them. Allegedly they think they're on a show called parties in paradise again. If parties imperatives was real. I would be lobbying to cover it for. Hp obviously they they called them. Super hot. Super spreaders also just seems in poor taste. We'll especially because.

"Be two seasons. Now we're the stats and the minutes aren't there And then you'll have a rough time getting one more big contract Relatively big, whereas if you bounce now We can call this up and position this as an anomaly. He was misused. We know what my client does. Somebody is hungry for your services. I would absolutely opt out and I would absolutely bound. Yeah, He's just He's just six years in. He's never going to high minutes. Guy, though. I mean is that the peak was last year with the Clippers almost 28 minutes and look what he did. He wants sixth Man of the year. Yeah. I mean, he got minutes and he wanted award. I love him, but he's got to leave LA not happening. Yeah. Tune in next time for another edition of in Bounds or out of bounds with Tiki and Tierney. He might be a pretty good fit. How about Portland? Yeah, No, It's a great call man, because they know impactful big. The problem is he's not I mean, he's not that traditional big. He's only 67 or so so he's not. He's not going to be that. I think offensive juggernaut. You don't need him to play offense that they need. Yeah, out in the front quarter. Little Yeah. Yeah, well, you know what I mean. So You know, you know, it's funny, The more I think about this, there's and I don't know if they want to do business with each other same conference, But maybe maybe what the Blazers should be doing and this would also help. The map. The maverick How about opposing Ghous for McCollum swap? You get a sniper next to don Cheech interesting and you get something who I know He's better than he played this year. You've got to play him at the four. Not the five and let him just roll with Dan getting double teamed all night. Yeah, No, that's that's an interesting Situate that that could work. Money's gotta sell as long as as long as he's healthy laws yourself. I think I think, if your point, but here's the thing Portland's got to do something, they had to do something, so whether it's radical or not, And this is pretty radical, especially as you just mentioned the same conference in Division two, right? Um, you know that that would make a lot of sense. I just don't know if it will get done. I mean, I don't know if it's going to get done either. Yeah, I'm just throwing things out on the radio man. True. Here's the beauty Take. Here's the beauty of what we do. If it doesn't get done, doesn't matter. Just threw something out there. Did we say that? You know, doesn't mean it's not smart. Did we say that? Yes, we did If it works, and I think that the money while I know that that McCollum's 100 left, and Jose is making 20 something here, so the numbers are somewhat negligible. Like there's not a mess of disparity where you'd have to. Maybe add in a big.

"They're still in that situation so one of the things that they they did little kicking and screaming. is they got market insights. They they allow us to go out and do qualitative surveys with their customers. Finding out all sorts of of really good information in fact when of the things I learned in doing those interviews was that they were said. You know we got a tech problem and Becky's right there man. She does a great job and my question was well. When's the last time you talked to somebody? In Management has to be a year or so in fact. You're the first person we've talked to from the company so oh so gathering that and then doing quantitative allowed us to really develop the strategies and hone on how they were going to talk to their. They had like five different vertical markets. They were serving so they did it right. It took them a long time thirty years to actually go out and talk to customers and talk to the marketplace but they they finally did it it and it really helped them in developing their strategies and moving their company in diversifying where the revenue is coming from so potentially You know curbing any downturn in the market or a particular vertical having trouble so that that's I they did it right your turn my turn my second got it right. It was another example of one that could have gone south. Had they not done what they did. So this was an irrigation product company Who had by the way I saw that on your linked in why we're looking at your your resume I actually did work for them about a few years earlier. Yeah did some research interesting. Yeah so irrigation product company And for those engineers there. You're gonNA know this term. They were value engineering. A product for those who don't know that term value engineering is a term for when you ask your engineering design team to take cost out of a product and sometimes it's a good thing and sometimes it's a bad thing. In this case they had value engineered product into failure so they add value engineered to the point where in certain climates the product did not function improperly. It was an outdoor sprinkler. That would freeze up So I was brought in as part of a team to look at what had happened. And look at the reconciliation efforts and how replaced parts and change the design But also look at how we were going to recover from this so they they took a very interesting approach and saying do the research and then give us recommendations. And we'll we'll move forward based on that so. Here's an opportunity to go out and work with the marketplace again. Get out there and get some customer insights talk to the end users. Talk to the contractors in the field find out if the reconciliation reconciliation that recovery have been done properly early and then start a program a marketing campaign to regain high ground And we had new products coming out that we wanted to promote. We wanted to talk to the recovery. So they put together a full marketing platform Where we could again addressed the recovery properly and could promote these new products and created a large campaign that got all of our distribution partners involved and got them really excited reenergized about the brand so the once the recovery was done properly? It was really about okay. We we've said we're sorry we fix the problem now. Let's come out with some new products that we know you're going to love and we're going to support Ford and we're going to be there for you all right fantastic as a marketer. What do you think the the biggest challenges are? I mean I I look at when I start working with the company that they have developed personas. My my favorite line of all times as we don't have competition they follow us. We're the leaders in the marketplace and I've debated that over and over and over again with with with clients that you have competent. I don't Oh care if you're sitting out there by yourself. There's something else that is their perception as can be filled by something else so I see no competition lack of market look at research you know. I have a market research background. That is that the kind of thing. I'm always kicking and screaming about getting out there and talking to the marketplace certainly miss understanding understanding and usage of social media and and buyer personas. So those kind of things I see when I starting off that I just feel that Companies he's just don't have and that's the challenge for them even though they think they have it. I know job titles. Well that's that's not a persona right. So do you find some other things with the clients that you deal within the some other perspectives that you offer similar but but different different terms so my three three top ones that come out with over and over again is under planning or or no planning at all. They're just not spending enough time on their strategy. You know they're they're they're out there. They're swinging their spending money. But okay so what. What are the objectives here? What what are you? What are you going after so again? Hundred planning no planning. That is the first one I see time and time again The second one would be not setting success measures. So what is the success. Look like what is it. Good campaign look like and it's okay. It can be a soft goal can say look. This is a hearts and minds campaign. We're just looking to get some some positive. Pr here or can be a sales number but you need to set that number on the front end not the back end when you're looking at it goes so it. Was this a good campaign. Oh Yeah we we thought it was pretty good. It's not really good enough off. There needs to be some hard numbers hard objectives and criteria that was set before you even launched and then the third one is going to be for me post campaign wrap-ups and codifying the lessons that have been learned. You'RE GONNA mess up their beer campaigns. They're going to be less than optimal. It's GonNa happen sit down. Do The post mortem talk about what worked and talk about what was challenged and learn from it and codify that information. Next time around you can take the pieces that work really well and use them again and the pieces that were challenging. You can try a different way of doing it. implementation is kind of the biggest challenge and we can plan forever verb if it if it's poorly implemented and the ability to have I'll call it off ramps for lack of a better word. I can't think of another. Maybe the Jones Getting Timmy. But to be able to to to just on the fly with technology the way it is today we should be able to change change on on a dime. I mean literally on a dime and I think that's important for companies to really pay attention to the set those goals whether they're soft goals hard goals whatever they happen to be and really monitor them. I use the phrase people spend too much time working in their business than on their business and so while we spent some time. You know upfront planning planning once. We're in it. It's hard to get him to go back to the planning to see that things aren't working properly or set those goals. What is what is going to be so we can make adjustments as we go along right you need to be generals and maintain that position of being overlooking the battlefield? Not because they want they want to hop in the trenches with everybody else. Just get into the work to your point. They're working in their business is a not on it right right so tell me one. Tell me a story where it doesn't have to be your story but a story that that it didn't go quite as planned action. I have a story for you. That is my story so I'm going to take full credit for this mess. All right fine do I need another drink. You might the you know what I'm GonNa pour myself but one. How're you doing? Paul you ready for another. I'm just GONNA go straight on this and we go straight go straight. He wanted tonic water. Let me now. I'm good okay. So so First job out of Graduate School I am pretty sure my my shoes were still squeaking at that point. First job out of graduate school and What School Oh what school side out of Graduate School was George Washington University where I got my Masters International Studies Plug in universities now Undergrad was USC? George Washington Snoop for Grad School. So first job out of school living in Wallingford Connecticut Working Wallingford Connecticut chasing dollars so I was working on a line of imported glass where coming in from Mexico and I was working with a table where company at the time they were just they tableware in the Passo plates and dishes and utensils utensils flatware going into hospitality restaurants country clubs and they were just getting into glass where products for commercial use and I decided to initiate eight a special order program so we had standard stocking items that we had in the warehouse and I had heard about customers and talking to them and some of the distribution partners. We love this other item that you have. You don't have in stock. I thought okay. We can do a special order program getting product from Mexico to the US to the customer and it was an absolute absolute nightmare. Sales didn't like it. Marketing turns out and I didn't like it and it just didn't work for distribution or logistics mystics. So special order means. You don't have in stock you've gotTA bring it in you've got a handle it. He's got to be handled. I it's just outside your core competencies and it was such a learning lesson for May a of don't chase dollars. Stay with what you do stay with which have in stock right instead of trying to bring stuff in south of the border and cross it in time and get it to the the customer. Make sure the paperwork tried it was. It was a screw up that I tried to learn from well. We we learned from those groups Hopefully hopefully they happen earlier in our careers later in our careers. But that's how we learn I I tell the story that my first business as an entrepreneur twenty three and I was in the film business and it started a production company here in Orange County and my partners where at least twenty years older than me and they convinced me we could bring in La Hollywood to Orange County. And I was fully piss and vinegar and I thought it could happen well. It didn't America America almost all our work actually. All our work was in Los Angeles so it just didn't work and it was in and out in eight months but but a horrible from a marketing standpoint positioning and I didn't know enough at that point in time but that one lesson which was expensive it I learned a tremendous amount. And it's all good. I'm glad that happened earlier on I call in and so allowed me seven years later to To step out and start the new one another one just a real simple one was working on a campaign for air freight company and they were converting converting themselves to an overnight company going to compete with Fedex and ups and so we created this campaign and it was fantastic. It was beautiful. It was wonderful in the campaign. Launched in nothing phone. Didn't ring and then all of a sudden we started getting calls. Your phone disconnected like what and so what happened is nobody ever actually called the phone numbers. So this is a lesson out there. If you put a phone number in an ad or a post or anything house make sure you call it. I that it still working what had happened. Is Somebody on the other side of the building and accounting was looking at their receipts and said these numbers have have been used in years. I'M GONNA cancel literally in the same week that the campaign broke so it was a simple story. It was a disaster. We recovered quickly. We're able to get the same number back but just a simple lesson that you know that was. That was a scary moment because it was a huge campaign and it was pretty crazy. Why we're down to two minutes? It's unbelievable wow wow well all right. So let's Segue what do you think. The biggest challenges are for companies in two thousand twenty. Where we're probably what fifteen days away like that it's definitely going to be understanding your clients? Things are moving so fast..

"Im Angelo Ponzi Ponzi. Your host here at the Business Growth Cafe and thank you for joining us as an avid listener. Or even if you've just become a new one you know I'm a marketer. A fractional marketer in fact a CMO. And we'll I've had many internal marketers on the show before I've never had an independent marketer similar. Maybe not quite the the same on my show until now so today at the cafe of invited South Africa of African Marketing Group to talk war stories. The good the bad the ugly to hopefully provide some insights on what to do what not to do when it comes to planning your marketing strategies and tactics seth. Welcome thank. You glad you're here at what's GonNa be fun So usually what we do is to get things going. Why don't you tell the audience a little bit about yourself about your company? So I started avalon ever gone marking group back in two thousand nine. I spent the first half of my marketing career on the corporate side. Working with some big brands gained some great experiences. Just learning With some terrific mentors and then in two thousand nine. I decided to go out on my own To focus more on small and medium-sized businesses. Helping them organize and develop a strategy and then taking that strategy to market all right all right so yeah we we have some similar Kind of thoughts and directions. And we've we've known each other about but the year now or two years. Yeah about two years. Here's while and So I I think a severely fine what we've discussed We we did some pre gaming before this show because we wanted to come up with a strategy and and but before we start that I like to ask some questions of my guests so the first one is because you have a business and you're growing your business. What keeps you up at night thinking about that? I would say the one thing that is probably on my mind. The most is managing the the sales and project funnel bright managing sales sales activities and managing the work itself needs. It's kind of a moving target right. As the old saying goes it's feast or famine and just trying to keep enough enough business coming in and the projects going as they should is challenged form as always something that I'm I'm always. It's always on my mind right. Well I think I in in similar situations nations that you know that is the balance right how do you keep the pipeline full business coming in but is independence. We can Max out our time pretty quick and you can't ignore the the sales pipeline because eventually as as sometimes in marketing and especially in the fractional world. Those clients do and go away as they bring on full-time people and things like that. So I along with you. I'M GONNA go back and forth as we banter back but that is a a similar challenge for me. He as well. As how do you keep the pipeline phil do your networking. How do you keep things growing but also manage and make sure that works getting done For the clients that we do have the second question I like to ask is. What is the best business advice you've ever given and or receive? I'm going to quote you to pieces advice. Advice is by being given The first one these go back early early in my career fresh out of graduate school my first job Jim By the name of Jose Luis for Nellie who worked with vitro tro done in Mexico. So glasswork Lama and I was involved in a joint venture And it was a simple piece of advice telling me to that that you can't be be everything to everyone and as simple as that sounded it really focused in on on not trying to chase dollars statements staying with my core competencies and attracting going after a specific niche not trying to cover the entire waterfront. Because that's it's just too challenging. There's too many audience out there too. Many audiences is out there. You just need to stay with what you're good at as a corporation and then focusing on that audience who really cares about what you have to offer and then the second piece of advice is came from Chris Lytle who wrote the accidental salesperson. Which is a book? I'm very fond of and I actually got a chance to talk with him on the phone And that was that life is a lifelong learning seminar. And if you have that genuine curiosity and you're learning from people around you and you're learning from your experiences. You'll be a lifelong learner and it. It just makes it perfect for marketer. Right I'm trying to learn from everything I see around me. Yeah that's that's that's great advice. I mean it really is true. It's you know that that I mean we're not spring chickens right so there's been an evolution and in in marketing over the last ten or fifteen or twenty years and that we're that old but we have to constantly be learning because our clients aren't necessarily learning like we are to provide that council and it becomes very confusing confusing fusing I think at times when you're talking to a client. There's no I need to be on social media. Oh okay timeout. Why because no not because I mean I don't know about you but One of the things I've seen so many times when I'm looking at a new client or looking at their competitors. One of the things I do is go to their social channels finals and I would say a nominee be. I'll I'm going to put a stake in the ground. Eighty five percent of the time. Most of those channels are either not being used or being misused right. I was on one the other day and class all. Yeah we gotTA BE ON. I I forget what it was facebook or something like that and I and I looked and it was like you haven't posted since two thousand seventeen. Why do we need to be on that channel? Do you find that a and and summer when you're doing your work I do I do you. You really You hit the nail on the head in terms of social media if their social media strategy is to push sales messaging. It's a waste of time. It's not developing relationships. It's not developing engagement Choose pick pick the channels you want to operate in affectively and have something you want to say and be willing to be a a giving entity not in the sense that you're going to provide content that has value that you're not going to be boring. You're not going to be just pushing your sales messaging or your promotion of the week I think that's You know I think you might have said this already. Funnel and and I think that that's where a lot of clients get a little confused. is his about the the funnel right. I try to simplify the funnel. Got Too many layers. Forget to you know from awareness down to trial it just is just so many different steps they have. I have to go through and to get them to understand that that education. You're not going to buy so I I I have a client who is relatively the unknown and is like. Why are people buying? My answers has been for months because they don't know who you are it. We have to build that process. We can't go from. I launched today to make an a gazillion dollars. Tomorrow Right I often see people use the term. We want brand equity so you don't have brand awareness yet. You don't have brand identity you know. Brand equities up here right. That's the brass ring. You're going for where someone says. I want your product versus somebody else's because of who you are but to your point point if they don't know who you are and what you stand for the brand equity is just just out there in the district. You'RE NOT GONNA get it right right so I want to. I want to Segue a little bit and talk about brand awareness and brand equity and for those of you that are watching this on video you can see we have a actually about a about ten percent or fifteen percent of those bottles already. Gone Aviation Jin The Seth brought in and I want to tell tell story a little bit about that and your relationship with this gin and first of all thank you for bringing it is. I'm already I almost done with my first My first glass I I will have at least two My wife listened to a show with Another brand recently and I made a comment. That sounds like I drink a lot and I really don't but we're drinking today you talk about Aviation sure sure so My brother-in-law Actually Works Aviation Gin. And I. I mentioned I was going to be on the show and He's very proud of the product Yeah he's a big supporter of it and and For those who don't know this is Ryan Reynolds brand and so I wanted to give a shoutout to two Ryan and to my brother-in-law Jim mccloskey and it is. It is a nice. Janet is a smooth Jin in June that if you drink enough you will think you're Wade Wilson Aka deadpool but these be warned that Please don't do that because if you cut off your arm it will not grow back go so so Yeah it's it's a great product and they've gotten some great Great publicity recently right with the Palestinian ask. Yeah that's a brilliant I love. I love that I've been reading some articles on it and certainly had watched the original Peleton and then of course the the ad that that Ryan put out and it's just spectacular it's really strategic it's subtle but really funny if you really get into it and I've seen it several times now I do want to say I I. I actually have some alcohol beverage experience. I've had an opportunity opportunity to work with some vodkas. Some Wines and Tequila and I have to admit this is really good. I'm not a big Gin guy but I could definitely see this going into my bar because it's really smooth and a lot of the florals that typically turn me away on a gin this is. This is really really approachable and smooth so thank you thank you for that. Yeah that's going in your bar now. Well there you go okay no more. You can't have any more POLKA. I'm taking the rest of a with me all right. Well thank you for that. Thank you Ryan Brian. You are invited to come on this show anytime call in ten minutes just to talk about your gin. I love it and we'll stay away from all the movie stuff by by the way you got a new one out on Netflix. Today I'm looking forward to watching it tonight but let's Talk Jim. Let's talk alcoholic beverage. We talked about sharing some stories and some experiences experiences. So let's let's start off by You know something. We might get some relevance from or some insights from kind of a case study a little bit and and again just remind ourselves we only had about probably down to twenty minutes now or or probably fifteen minutes I and and so I i WanNa make sure we don't go too far down the rabbit hole. We got a lot of stuff I want to cover but while we start off with a story something that the audience can say. You know what I learned something from that. I'll let you go first so we talk and talk and more stories now can store okay. I'm going to start with a war story about a company that got it right and they almost got it wrong so that this is a good one company was a computer hardware manufacturer At one point one of their products as a brand I was working with one of their products started started flying off the shelf. I mean sales. Were just talking sticking up and it wasn't a terribly special. Product was one of our kind of more basic products and manufacturing the corporate very excited. And we've got A. We've got a ramp up our production of this product. Look we just can't keep on the shelves and this is a case where good business business intelligence Really helped out I and and my associates and sales before you at second and third shift to manufacturing to bring in more product product. Give us a little time to figure out why all of a sudden this product is just spiking when it hadn't in the past so little undercover work some discrete interviews we found out one of our competitors was having a manufacturing issue on the part they had the product they had that matched up against ours. So we were getting sales as a windfall because they could not produce and they were going to be back in stock and back in operating manufacturing in probably sixty ninety days. It's very much change our strategy. I said okay based on what we know here. Let's do this. Let's bring in enough product. Let's let's increase our manufacturing increase our inventory enough that we can cover. We've gotten orders unless Adelphi every new customer. We see coming in that we haven't seen before and let's reach out to them but we don't need to stock it to the Gills because it had we done that we might have ended up in a bad inventory position once our competitor was backing up backing operating manufacturing and producing that product. To get right. Well you you you said reach out to the customers and talk to them and and and I find so many times that I'll be talking to a new prospect or a new customer and it's like well when's when's the last time you actually talk to your customers and it's like well I you know I haven't for a while so my war story is a custom software company. This was about a year and a half ago. Oh and they wanted to reintroduce in and change their sales trajectory they were primarily getting their business through referrals and now they needed the change that eggs in one basket referral stop coming in and they were in trouble so about thirty year old company which was surprising. They're still in that situation so one of the things that they they did little kicking and screaming. is they got market insights. They they allow us to go out and do.

"Destroyed in anything you just fight under the rubble. It's right there. You're ready. It's all packed. So it's pretty good deal for seventy five bucks. So prepared with ground zero dot com. I, I see these weather anomalies like this and. It is twenty two season. I mean, in the springtime, we have the what we call the disruption that happens along the planes that is, is, we have warm air from the Gulf coming up, and then we have the cold air coming from the north, and it struggles together and creates all these violent storms. But, you know, it really gets gets under my skin. Whenever I'm watching whether reports and hearing about the weather reports in these weather anomaly spikes immediately. They are supposed to say that it's something to do with climate change. When we have this happen, all the time, we just have a few anomalies, occasionally certainly are worthy of talking about everything anymore, tornado Magadan, or, or Snowmageddon, or just put Magadan shark Magadan, shark NATO, just all these, you know, different types of ways of explaining just what we called fluke, catastrophes, or at least spikes in anomalous activity, and the weather. And so, in fact, I think I'll gore. Ask for a petition to be signed. Remember reporting a couple of days ago or maybe a week ago, maybe reported on the internet. But yeah, he was looking for petitions that we petition local TV and national TV weather reports to focus on how these anomalies that happen in the weather are part of climate change. And I heard that and it really bothered me. And the reason why is because of the political nature of what this climate change thing is. And I've been all my career since I've heard of climate change since two thousand six okay? I mean we've heard of climate problems, we've heard of ice age. We have all these things ever since we were young kids in pitcher and give it who don't pollute. I mean we, we were raised on being responsible. Ecological do-gooders. We've done that most of our lives, however, after two thousand six and. Inconvenient truth in two thousand seven we have the likes of Al Gore telling us that everything's falling apart and that, basically, the world's going to end in about what eight years that we were told eight years that we would face a huge climate crisis, and that was in two thousand seven the biggest hype of global warming. You know, fears, we had scientists, of course out gore saying that by twenty fifteen the planet would be facing something akin to an extinction level environmental catastrophe. Well being tire process of a scientific scare to all sorts of movements towards pressuring people into believing that anthropogenic global warming was indeed a reality, and that there needed to be some very drastic measures that needed to be carried out in order to avoid a major environmental catastrophe. When I first heard about this,.
