He's been up to bat more than eleven thousand times and at the start of this particular game. He has seven hundred and fourteen home runs. Seven hundred and fourteen is a very important number this moment on april eighth nineteen seventy four. It is the most home runs ever hit by a single major league baseball player but two players have reached. That number hank. Aaron is tied with the legendary babe ruth. They've each hit seven hundred fourteen home runs and tonight. Aaron will hit number seven fifteen. The atmosphere should be celebratory and it is but in the clubhouse before the game things are unusually quiet. The braves have decided not to let the press inside. Aaron has been hounded by reporters for months and not just by reporters. He's also received close to a million pieces of mail. A third of them negative. Some of the letters have included death threats from white fans who don't want to see a black man take babe ruth's record people have written that they're going to sneak into the stands with a gun and take matters into their own hands so while aaron knows that this might be the most important baseball game of his life. There's also a real possibility that it could be his last

From Public Defender To Stanley Cup Champion

"So joe for those who might not follow the nhl super closely. Can you just give us a sense of what jon cooper has accomplished during his as a coach in the nhl. Definitely jon cooper is the longest tenured coach shell. He's on an eight th anniversary of his hiring on this week. The winningest coach in franchise history for the lightning. And i think he's highly regarded as one of the better coaches in the league and probably a candidate coach team. Canada at the next olympics are positions and olympics for the trump player so deadly highly regarded coach but up until this past season. He hasn't won the big one and that was kind of the big question surrounding it. And how would you describe his personality. Well he's a players go. She's a really fun personality. Like you quotes wedding crashers. Upper seventy six. No excuses public champion. You uses a champion. The only person you have to answer to when you go home at night is really yourself. The national media loves him because he is a great world this charismatic. You're going to get knocked down. There's no question people are going to push down. Because ultimately they want to see it fail if you think maybe teams on trips to like field of dreams when he was in earlier years coaching. He's all about the different sides and binding guys together on the ice and that if you get is connected as a group and the for each other and very process over outcome kind of guy and so you definitely has that charisma that makes them unique. I think the players like that. We'll show you recently. Wrote about how jon cooper has followed perhaps the most unconventional path of any stanley cup winning coach. So take us back to the late. Nineteen ninety s. What was john. Cooper's lifelike at that time he was living in a condo east lansing area couple remains but he was just trying to figure out where you wanted to be in his life. What he wanted to do for work. He was good ball. Charismatic lawyer but his heart wasn't in it always always wondering when is the fulfillment. When are you going to sit there and wake up every day and say. I can't wait to go do what i'm gonna do. He was defender district court in lansing michigan about a thousand dollars a month. You know we're going for indigent clients. He was working on. du is having divorces. You've got a two person law. Office him in a paralegal. He's still didn't know i guess. Were taken at that point. And you got in touch with the judge. Who worked with jon cooper back. Then what did he say about cooper skills in the courtroom and you just notice and how clients clients listen to prosecutors respected him i think is the kind of ability that transcends coaching the ability to persuade players to adopt your system or just believe the approach. So you know. He's he's a good salesman. He always says convincing players. Convincing a jury and i don't think he knew then that it would be kind of the key to him. Maybe starting coaching career. So how did jon cooper go from being this lowly paid lawyer and a former lacrosse player. Who had only played a year of club hockey in college to being high school hockey coach. Well the run in his son playful lansing catholic high school and they needed a coach and so he knew of john skills on the ice and new of his charisma and then he is asked to one day in the building. I saw the coach. would you be interested. He looks at me and goes. Dc the stack of resumes. I have he says. I'll tell you one thing you coach kids high school hockey team and i will take your resume from here. We put it here. Just this exactly. That was his first kind of foray into coaching hockey. Was nine thousand nine hundred nine hundred thousand lansing catholic cougars hockey team and that was seventeen. You actually talked to some of the players on that lansing catholic team. What did they tell you about jon. Cooper the high school coach. I think what's interesting knees. They remember the first meeting in the cafeteria where he's using himself to like twenty kids and parents and those us have just nervous as they were and are waiting to hear whereas the hockey background. Who did he coach before. Because one of the red wings was he part of this huge talk about law school in wall street and this guy another guys were in the nhl players. Even highly college players inducted himself would be anywhere high in coaching world. A reflection of guys play together. I think they'll be the first ones to tell you. None of them really on the track to make the national hockey league but they were such a joy to be around the competed their butts off just line. Who an awkward gesture. The of funny kid and team talked about like there was a hill just a mile from the school that the workouts outside the big hill. The he must've just saw he was driving around and he made us run up this hill with do bear calls and stuff. That is the source. I've ever been my life like. I could not long like off chris. Monrovia now works the red wings. Illitch family talked about how they had this practice where they had no on the ice and they're doing push ups and sit ups and kristin ross. Who served in the military students in afghanistan he goes. I went through the army for seven years. And i went through a lot of work out a lot of hellish days. Afghans dead. That's one of those days that i think back much. It's not as bad as back. And what else did you learn about his coaching philosophy back. Then you know like what were the things that were important to him that he really emphasized to the team. Making guys feel connected or part of it no matter if you were the best player on this team or like the thirteenth forward and i think jeff swan is appropriate examples. Like i wasn't the most natural coordinated like county out now who put me not aligned with the two players. Mike sack out with the most gifted athlete. That are high school in you. The team is better holding. Some of its part. They wanted them to play. Have have meaning and swan. Storing the biggest fools that season the most for player that year. So you know. He's told everyone the most improved player really halls like a special place for him. Something he takes lightly. It was a really really nice compliment. They talked about the hard hat that they gave out. After every win which was an all white instruction half that was something that the player of the game whether at block shot or a big hit or in ceremony the post game. We'll get this production. How they put their name and a sharpie but it was more of a. What did you do to help the team. Really recognizing layers who maybe didn't shop scores sheep but who are just dedicated themselves to helping the team. These success those are moments that came together that they remember forever and become an integral part of their story on a way to winning out like the championship. Well this sort of ragtag bunch of guys did win an unlikely state regional championship in almost mighty ducks kind of way and joe as you talks to all these guys who played for jon. Cooper what connections. Were you able to make between cooper the coach of the lansing catholic cougars and cooper the coach of the stanley. Cup champion tampa bay. Lightning guesswork me. Talking to guys. That new men who've now that he hasn't changed much in terms of his personality he had kind of style which coach's house you through professional level versus coaching. high school. Kids a lot of the same kind of tenants but he had then he still uses today. Kerry that floss with me all the way through the nhl in onto the honestly. It doesn't really change. Human beings are human beings and everybody needs to be motivated. It's just finding the right way to motivate. Rose stood up in my living room and watch the game and cheer tampa. You're welcome. you're welcome for started. His rise

Apple Was Third Largest Seller of Tablets in India in 2020

"More growth for apple in india this time on the tablet front macrumors has new numbers from idc show ipad growing. Its market share there by thirteen percent year over year. It's kind of a good news. Bad news story. The growth was enough to put apple and third in terms of tablets per india. The bad news the top two players lenovo and samsung saw their shipments grow more than one hundred fifty percent each compared to two thousand nineteen macrumors says. That's because they sell cheaper low end tablets compared to apple's ipad line. I said it was good news bad news but it can be spun back to good news. Third-place means there's room to grow which is the kind of thing. Investors like to hear.

Final Lap Weekly Fantasy Update

"Rowdy dragging here back again with this week's final weekly fantasy update the daytona road course. What an awesome race. The finish really mixed things up. I think these road courses are really gonna flip the fantasy upside down this year. So let's move onto the stage winners. We have first and second stage sweep done by. Who's good job. loosen the win. Who's looks like he felt a little short term. Gators three took that with two hundred and forty two points. Now the final weekly had two hundred and seventy two players to start the season it bumped up to three hundred and forty three players so a whole bunch of people had joined us. But now we're back down to two hundred sixteen players so i'm thinking there was a consolidation period where nascar just dumped. Everyone who had goose eggs for the first brace the second race or both races and Either that or toby was pushing some buttons and deleted everybody in any event if you have played with us before all you have to log back in and make your picks in. You're good to go however you're going to have to join the league now. Okay so moving right along. Let's take a look at homestead miami speedway. I got three drivers free to take a look at starting with the number. Five kyle larson. It is time for him to show what he can do in the five car. He has for that hendra team and another guy to look at. Is the number eight tyler. Rettig he had a good first race here last year he got a fourth place finish and he scored a segment points in both segments. Were dirt track. Racers excel especially the rim writers. Tyler riddick and kyle larson both loved to ride the rim and the last guy will take a look at the number eleven car denny hamlin. He's superb at this track. He's got three wins here. Last year. he racked up stage points in both segments as well some looking for denny to have a good day on

Jarmo Kekalainen on the Dubois-Laine Deal

"Always good when a major newsmaker joins the podcast. He is yarmouk kick elaine general manager of the columbus. Blue jackets Jahmil thanks so much for doing this. And i'm always curious about how deals come together. And maybe more specifically when deals and you know we know that there are other teams out. There obviously interested in pierre. Luke dubois in your mind. When was this trade over. Like at what point did you say. Okay i'm done. He's going to winnipeg jets by you. Gotta do your due diligence around the league and see what the interest level is and what type of options we have available. And we did that. We recommend order and you might make have to make a couple rounds a call system. Make sure that everybody who's interested. Got their opportunity to give their best shot and we did that as well. So it took a little while but You know we came to the conclusion there. After the last game that dubois played that we wanna do this sooner rather than later so we were pretty busy on friday working on that than saturday morning. We we were ready. And and now. We have patrick line and ross lubbock here. One thing that became clear to us on the outside. Is that you and kevin chevrolet off had discussed this for awhile that you kind of both knew that if you wanted to do this there was going to be the opportunity to do it. I'm curious caramel. How'd you guys known that you were each other's potential trade partners. If you needed to be we we had a good dialogue for a while and this is probably the best match right from the start. But as i said we had to do our diligence. And make sure that we've done our homework on every opportunity that might be out there and after we'd done that we return to talks with winnipeg several times and and wanted to make sure that all parts of the trade work for us as far as cap goes cash involved there other parts of the deal that we had to iron out once. We actually does hurdles. We were ready to pull the trigger on both sides. You describe what. It was like thursday night for us. I know what a incredibly competitive person. You are a lot of things. What was it like watching that. And can you talk about your discussions after the game that night. Internally internal talks always internal talks for me and a very serious about that but you know there are certain values that We have within our organization within our team in our locker room and we have a very demanding head coach who never compromised. Those values would never want him to compromise those values and i support him honor percent when he he does his coach in enforcing those values and it came to a point. Where were that wasn't a level of commitment to those values that was given by fearless dubois and that's why he was bent and i support the coach hundred percent on on that decision. Like i said after that. I think there's a little more urgency on our part to get this done and we're happy to move on with the two players that we like even if the trade hadn't occurred on saturday morning to the organization had pure luke dubois played his last game with the blue jackets. And what. I'm sort of getting at was anyway that he would have played saturday afternoon. No no you wasn't gonna play saturday but after that. It's the coach's decision on on all. He wants to handle the player. And there's no need to get into that but There's always a second chances and opportunities to redeem yourself as a player if you make a mistake or don't live up to the values that we hold strong ear but you have to show through your hard work in practice and and how you conduct your business in the locker room and within the team and I'm sure then. Our coach will always give him every player a second chance or an opportunity to show that. He's ready to live

Here's of course talk about the them so if you played hitman one or two already you know exactly what you're getting with three there's nothing new or groundbreaking here just honestly though that's perfectly fine for those who like this style of game. As the high quality of level design carries forward. You might not get a wholly original concept or sequel hit ansari. What you will get is the same intricate set of levels. It's a franchise that has has come and gone and has at various different reboots and it seems like re in recent years. It's really coming to. It's the most recent iterations hitman year when they were rolling them out as episodes that was really really popular with people really likes them. I've always tried to get into them. And i've heard something about them just never quite connected with me and i think that's just more to do with that's less to do with the game's not being good games and more to do with him just being somehow like just incompatible with my own tastes gators off you no matter how but i feel i feel like that but not like in a big way is a big disconnect some like. I know. there's a game here that i would really enjoy. If i could just get into it. So i feel like this with this new hitman. Three is the perfect opportunity for me to give it like one more. I'm really gonna try. I'm really going to try to get into. I'm excited about it. I think my wife my About her favorite. Pop the assassin's creed. Games sneaking around us astern people. I think that question might lead into diego's question he wrote into patriots dot com slash. Kind of funny games says hi guys. First time longtime reviews for main three are out and largely positive. My question is simple as someone who never played one of these. Is it worth starting with three or their changes to the mechanics so minimal that maybe i should start with cheaper option of hitman to grabs me from their. Thanks much love. This is a big question. Not just the hitman to the back levels legacy stuff but is hit. Hit me in three a great jumping off point if you've never played before right. This is what you were talking about with club. We and we and we see this every time a big new game series brings out a game right like like one of the most commonly asked questions i've heard in the last year is like where do you start with for example the yakuza games. Many of the right should you. Can you start with like a dragon. You wanna stop zero. Always different ways to get into it. And so i'd every game is different right and every every series is different understand. Why the questions coming from right especially. Since i saw recently that i owe think tweeted something about it. Meant three being the the concluding chapter in a hitman. Trilogy edgy when i when i hear that that makes me a bit nervous like you wouldn't for example to just jump into light. Return of the jet is the first hours from the emerson right. Still be a great movie but a lot of stuff wouldn't make sense and you'd be a bit lost because you know it's picking up story threads been percolating through the previous two films. You would be like who's this guy share. What's going on. And on. I wanna you don't wanna have that feeling but i feel like these days especially we've really games when like years between games. It's it kind of behooves game developers to make sure each new game can function both as the continuation of what's come before legacy players but can also be on boarding can be an entry point for people like you as a game developer or published. You really know helping self if you say oh yeah. This is really only accessible to people who have already played hitman. Because you never gonna grow your your fan vice that what you've got to You you've you've got to have each game be an accessory. An accessible new entry point. And i was very glad to see. Patrick clinic. Asked the same questions anything's into similar position to me intrigued to try. The new one has spent a of time with hitman before. Certainly no up unlike the balaji in the lower. What's happening with like agent. Forty seven's store. I couldn't tell you a single fucking thing about agent forty seven and now he's a ball dude with a barcode on his on the back now and that's nice people is the. Is there much mortar. No probably any of it. But i was very glad to see this morning that apparently a lot of people had replied to patrick and the consensus. Yet you can just jump into say hitman three and whatever problems with like not knowing what's going on so that's what i'm gonna do. I also do have. The hitman wanted to legacy editions. That came whatever deluxe super duper pack. The i got so. I might try those as well but i'm just going to jump into three because that's going to be the one that is most optimized for next gen and like you know it's gonna it's gonna it's gonna have the most valuable learnings from one and two right and i think it's you and me. Gary have a very similar hitman story. Where i remember getting that i hitman. Ips two and bringing it home in popping it. It'd be like oh. This isn't what i thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be more like a metal gear at the time and so i fell off and so every man. That's come but let's talk specifically about this trilogy hitman one and two i pop on. I usually play the first map in the first couple mission. Maybe i into a couple of maybe one more. And i'm like i get it. I see what this game's doing it's not for me like something about it doesn't click and i'm right there with you of like. I know that there is a game there that i could get into but i've struggled to do it and so hit me three. I m coming in very much. And i've played on part of the review on. Ps i love you so far. I'm three missions into the six maps or whatever so there you go it. Was this idea that i'm playing it. I like it. But i don't and i don't and it's the hold up for me is in the over the you know. There's the individual individual maps with your targets and their intricate plots. And what to do. They're right over over. That is layered this the end of the trilogy story. That's happening right. And i think even for me starting at never having beaten hitman one or two but starting those games they do a great job of like. Here's what's happened in the previous games here. Who's these other two players. You're with our this is what's going on. Go for it.

Early signing day: Latest on the nation's top 25 college football recruits

"It's signing day part one in college football with the early signing period. now which. I'm sure coaches love because they championship games and bowl games. All that other stuff. It is obviously been a very busy time for the uc coaching staff. And a big reason why is putting together a twenty three players signing class or recruiting class. I should say for the the class of two thousand and twenty one during the early signing period we are obviously huge fans of bear journal. Dot com chad. Brendel comes on this show all the time. He'll be with us tomorrow at three forty five but because it is sunday i wanted to bring in brent young who also covers. Uc's sports and pretty heavy recruiting emphasis for bearcat journal dot com. He is on twitter at. Excuse me at be young sports and He's with us this afternoon. I appreciate the time. What should i what what stands out most about this. This particular group of players the bearcats have inked You know what really stands out to me. The most i often travel on. It's just kind of the debt that that numerous positions the the high level of talent. It might not have the the top players like you know. You have last year with with prater and jean thomas and jane thompson. The four stars really really kind of flooding the top of the list. But what was really shown and this one is just the death and the amount of talent that they're able to bring in not really clear that you would expect kind of just be headliners for each class but just the amount of players that are highly rated at each physician. You're going to have numerous players. They're going to have big impact next year special teams but more further down the line right. Give me one or two players. That if i look at this bunch and i'm trying to find a kid who's gonna make an immediate impact year one or two stands out. You don't have to go with i. Brian threats i think first off. He's one of the seven early enroll. East coming in is going to be a player out of you. Know w kaufmann there and the clubs. They're gonna come in and be a player that wants to get on the field no matter what so. You're going to see him on special teams quite a lot. You're going to see him trying really find his role on the defensive side. You know obviously defense is going to have a humorous players that are going to have to be funneled out and figured out who's going to be replacing all the seniors that are currently on the roster. So yeah i think threats comes in. He has a knack for the ball defensively. He has the ability to make big plays. You know you play offense as well as the high school level but really defensively special teams where. I'm expecting him to kind of have almost an immediate impact and then outside of that You know give me. Give me an office alive because it seems. Recently we have causes there possibly had numerous true freshman. Kind break that that that you know. Talk to on the depth chart. And i think that you look at a player like luke collins where who could step in at the tackle position is one of the better fruits that program history for the bearcats. And i think he's gonna have a chance to really kinda shy know now. Land is gonna have a chance to really shine but and then of course you look at the depth as i've constantly mentioned it's going to be hard for some of these players really crack the rotation because now you see we've been able to turn you know one as one bs and constant we have players available at each position. So really specialties. Would be the place to watch out for. Maybe i'd a toxic to watch out for who could have an impact on kickoff teams kickoff return team things of that sort. There are seven kids from the greater cincinnati area around up the kids from from From from from this class from the greater cincinnati area. yeah. I talked about Gmc defensive player of the year. It of seems like that's been that the bearcats have been able to do is bring in big time defensive players from the great cincinnati area and that first off. He has a fantastic a phenomenal nickname. And it's the godfather dante. I mean better. Carry that with him and he'd better have it all the way throughout his playing career. Whether it is in the nfl anywhere he goes. Dante corleones the godfather of course from rain high school. He's going to be a cog in the middle. You shake his hand and he just completely engulfs your hand. It makes you feel small just a bowling ball of a player. And he kinda of exact situation as i say of the death i mean. He's he's the second lowest rated player in this entire recruiting class. But you've accused. Gmc defensive player of the year. you get sacks. he's going to be a big shopper. Upfront i mean forced. You gotta mentioned the land fickle. That really great story about him is is of course he. He sat down at the dinner table with his father. And he said you know data. I think i'm gonna be a bearcat and and we've said no. I don't accept that i need a little bit more. You know force behind that. And that's you know he said okay came back days later and i'm sure he fought as much force as possible and You know land is going to be a player. That i think is surprised. Because he's got the talent that his dad has of leeward hours another great flare out of princeton. I mean you just keep on going up and down the list and then of course you know you got ice. Jarman is a good outside player. And i already talked about mouth glenn. This is just going to be another one of those. The state of cincinnati is what they call it and and keeping hometown heroes around the greater cincinnati area. They're all gonna big impact on the team. All right look. I'm not gonna ask you to be an expert on every recruiting class in the country but there are folks at twenty. Four seven are relentless. Put this class up against other competitors in the put this class up against their competitors among a group of five schools. And then tell me where would stack up or how would stack up to even some of the schools that we frequently talk about them. Trying to recruit among power five schools. Right you know first off forty second in the country. You might know that at that and think okay. That seems like a high number but you break it down. This is pop. G five recruiting class top class in the afc. You know an average of eighty five point one that is second behind what last year. The eighty five point three Just just the amount of average ratings throughout the entire class you know the groups that break higher than what auburn has brought in this year. What virginia tech has brought in what you know an iowa state who is magically better than the bearcats in the college football playoff hole which. I'm sure you've completely broke down but higher than in iowa state hires than a ucla arizona state tcu. So you know there was about twenty power five twenty to twenty five power. Five software says up bearcats actually had a higher national rank. Nance so you're looking at you. Know one of the best britain the best group of five but one of the better entire classes and the and the nation he look at next year. Obviously a really early start but this is a fantastic roof. And they're going to be you know like i said it's going to be a couple years down the line. You're gonna start calling out these players by name and say wow. This is a big time player from that twenty. Twenty one

Saturday at the 2020 Masters

"Saturday at the masters in dustin. Johnson is running away. He carries a four shot lead into the final round sunday. Following a seven under sixty five saturday he was masterful tying jordan speiss fifty four hole record chasing johnson on the leaderboard are sung j. M abraham answer and cameron smith all four shots back while justin thomas and dylan 'fratelli sit five shots back following his round saturday. I called up with dustin johnson. Seven hundred sixty five news. Dustin johnson to sixteen under through three rounds. What did you do well saturday. And what if anything would you like to do. Better sunday I did everything while today. Adrover very nicely head. A bunch of fairways Hit a lot of greens and felt like i. I gave myself good chances on your on almost every hole. and so. that's kind of what you gotta do here. In the conditions. Not a lot of wind you know. Courses is fairly soft so you can be aggressive and Strike in a very nicely today And so you know tomorrow. We'll have to go out and do a lot of the same if i to win. Tied jordan speeds fifty four hole record. What's the balance between staying aggressive and not being dumb Well for me. It all depends on you know. Flag positions numbers Forgot a good number. And and i like the flag is a play aggressive but Like i said the course right now is is very receptive so you know i know the guys behind me are going to be trying to chase down south. You know you can't play you know there's a there's definitely a fine line of being too conservative and too aggressive but you just have to pick and choose my spots second last year. How did that impact your motivation. This time around. I mean yeah it was. I've played well last year. I played while the last couple years so obviously this one tournament that that i definitely want to win and you know. It means a lot to me. A- grew up so close to here and so it is something that i really look forward to until tomorrow is going to be a. It's gonna be a lot of funding. I'm gonna try to enjoy myself as much as i can and Hopefully hopefully outcomes good tomorrow afternoon. You heard dustin johnson say right there how badly he wants to win the masters. It's the dream of every player in the field in this eighty. Four th edition for more analysis on the third round and what to expect sunday. Let's bring in the voice of masters digital jimmy roberts. Dustin carries a four shot lead into sunday following a seven hundred sixty five saturday. He was masterful. Tying jordan speiss fifty four hole record assess his performance on saturday. A great it was basically as good as you could get You know you said it. He tied the fifty four hole scoring record. It is a different time of year. But i don't think it really matters. I mean the thing that sticks out to me is that you know through fifty four holes. He's got two bogeys which is unimaginable. On this golf course and they were in consecutive holes. Fourteen and fifteen in the second round. And when you stop to think about it he bogeyed the second easiest hole on the course which means that by all rights. He should probably expect to birdie the fifteen th hole. You give him two more strokes and he's just farther ahead of the pack. But i will just say this. I was here in nineteen ninety six and i covered that masters where greg norman had six stroke lead and nick faldo came back to win it so i mean this course can do things to you i mean. I think that there were extenuating circumstances that year. Norman had some physical difficulties. That didn't manifest until the final day and faldo played effortlessly. I think he shot sixty seven It's gonna take that for somebody to beat him tomorrow Somebody's going to have to play really really well. And he's going to have to stumble. What is it about this golf. Course that suits his game so well. Well i mean at this point really. He's the number one player in the world and he's as they like to say in europe he's on form so you know. He's a finely tuned engine right now and He's not even close to the red line. So i mean he is just got it all going on right now. I mean he's you know. I always say that you know. These are the best golfers in the world on on a week to week basis. You know you shouldn't be surprised if somebody you've never heard of comes up and wins a tournament because they are all remarkably talented. But he's the best of all of them right now and he is playing really well You know we've talked about this over the last couple of days. He you know he's long and straight which is tough to beat and then a couple of years ago. He decided that in order to get better you had to work on his wedge game so he went and did that he's become a terrific putter and he's completely unflappable. He i think. And i think that's the most important thing i think he's a guy who just does not get undone by much. I just asked him a few moments ago. what's the balance between maintaining the aggression. That got you here without going too far. Yeah i'd i'd be curious to know what he said but in all honesty. I've never seen him loses. Temper made him. I've never seen him hot. I've never seen him running hot. I'd seen him disappointed disappointed. And you're not going to be able to see this on the podcasts. But you know it's just kind of an shucks wish i hadn't tripled that whole crazy when i do. Something you know like that He's really he's a talented man. Who's in stride right now and You know he's done a lot He's one everything but tons of majors. I mean he's tiger tiger woods. He's one in to start his career. He's won thirteen consecutive seasons to start his career. Only tiger woods is done that and he tied him tiger actually one in his first fourteen seasons. But i mean he just consistently wins you know and it's hard to beat talent you know and worth work ethic when you match those two things together. It's very difficult. Let's look at the leaderboard. That is chasing dustin johnson song j. m. abraham answer cameron smith all four shots back. Justin thomas and dylan for tally. Five shots back if you were going to pick one to catch him. I don't think there's any question. The person who watches is Is justin thomas. But the way sunday m is playing and things are different now than they used to be. You know it's been forty one years since a first timer has one here that was fuzzy zeller nineteen seventy-nine. You know i was with the jack nicklaus this morning doing something and He talks. Jack came here and he didn't win for the first five times that he played here. But this is a course more than any other course were experiences necessary. But look you've got answer and in two players who were here for the first time in their you know right nipping at his heels Sebastian munoz too. So i i do think that must not be worth as much as it has been in the past given the level of talent and work of these guys but you know you give me a guy who has the experience and a guy who doesn't of equal talent and at the same spot in their game. I'm gonna take the guy with experience at this place every single time. Rory mcilroy and brooks koepka. Both superstars both at eight. Under after three rounds. How plausible is it that they might contend on sunday. I think it's entirely plausible. I mean i think that you know mcelroy's trending in the right direction after that seventy five in the first round which was disastrous for him. Just can't seem to get out of his own way sometimes but he's got a game. That's ideally suited for this place. He hits it high far and straight. His natural shot is right to left You know he's been number one in the world he's not undone by these big situations. Generally i think he's going to be a very interesting guy to watch tomorrow. But in all honesty there's so much daylight between dustin johnson and the rest of the field at this point and it's not the daylight of four strokes. It's the daylight of four strokes with the number one player on the one side of that daylight. Who's playing well. And i mean. I think it's gonna take dustin johnson shooting seventy two or three tomorrow. I mean i suppose it could happen. You know greg. Norman shot seventy six. Nick faldo shot sixty seven That lead had evaporated by the tenth. Tentpole the eleventh hole So you never know. But i would be. I would be shocked. But i remember being augusta national in in One thousand nine hundred ninety six and remember all the stories that we were doing. And i did a story for. Espn that night. And i said you know it would be shocking if greg norman didn't win but if he doesn't it will be one of the biggest stories and we won't soon forget it and here. We are all these years later. Talking about it at augusta national right now.

Midnight Patriot, nation welcome to NFL. Mid Nitrates it is you boy spartan here with the the ever ever pot and flaming premix A good to have you as D to ultra. Sports nerds. In specifically football cards. On the end on the. Patriot staff. Phoenix tonight decided that we were actually GonNa do kind of a deep dive into what is pissing us off most about NFL and. Most pro sports in general to be quite honest. But we're GONNA focus on the NFL in this particular case because. Both Phoenix, myself have. A long history of both fandom and and. Playing Sports, we have a unique appreciation of what it takes. More it doesn't and how it is devolved into the into this shit show that it is. Just, we're just GONNA go from there. So Phoenix you had you had some thoughts that you wanted to start with go ahead. Well specifically. I I have a major gripe with the NFL in general. Being more politicized. And the. Let's End Racism. Okay, I get my left. Black lives matter. No sorry. They do and I agree with the message just not the manor which is being delivered. We've said that before on the organization go ahead. Exactly. All of a sudden you know we have a organization. That's Through much. Yup You can't do this. You know we have this. AFOREMENTIONED SCAMMED EMMA GOING ON. You can't do this. You can't do this. Well Yeah you can't. Okay. And then we have the social unrest of the nation being thrown into. A sporting. Venues. that. For All intents purposes let's call it. What is it's an escape. It allows us the viewer. Fan. That three four hours. Sunday evening Monday night whatever that. It gives us that escape from eager live love get up go to work and deal with people you come home you deal with cranky wife and kids don't listen dog that Shit's in your shoes. You've taken that away. And now have made it. Well we got to get on board with this. Well, we're relevant to. We're a large. Organization we goner? A multitude of platforms. That we have viewership. There any given? Day that we have competition So now we're going to. Paint messages in the end. We're going to have. Athletes will we're going to kneel to show solidarity. I got a huge problem with that and for our listeners I'm sure you have your own platforms as well. The American flag comes I stand for Gore country you back your country everything else second berry period. That's my thought on that. That's the way it is. Unfortunately when. The NFL NBA MLB hockey underwater basket weaving has become politicized in what we have to show solidarity with this. I have a question. Are you showing solidarity four? Message. Or are you As the NFL did let's put. The name of a known fell one on a helmet. Let's. Let's praise this guy because shot back when a an. Amplifier point in accused rapists. Is someone with a warning active warrants? For Rape Yes. So here in my eternal gripe with this, that will probably go down in flames just like the rest of them. Why are we? In fact. Standing behind. Someone. WHO BREAKS THE LAW? WHO does walk. Yes. They didn't listen. They got shot in the back whatever. House we say. Extenuating circumstances came to be that this ended up how that was. We have to stand behind this person as a form of. Instead of. Waiting, for all the facts that come out be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. And then move forward from there. Well. That's the real question. Isn't it is is you know? All we've seen is what has been allowed to be released. Okay I mean look I think in his thing I agree with everything you just said save one thing. Okay. I don't think demand deserve to be shot seven times point blank in the back now. Having said that. He has an active warrant for his arrest, what he should not have done to prevent that whole situation was to surrender. Get handcuffed and be taken into to engage whatever process there is. Okay, you don't fight cops in the street if you do. You mess with the bull, you get the horns. Okay. He's admitted he was armed. He's admitted he was going for a different arm- armament. Okay. And what do we expect the COPS to die? I don't think so you know I'm. In the eyes of them, that's probably what they're saying. Well. Preserved by life fuck yours. Well exactly. The COP Exactly and and my my attitude would be y is either one wrong as far as you know, one one has a duty to behave professionally the other has a duty to follow the law. Or face the consequences you know it would have saved him from getting shot in the back if he had stopped if he turned around if he'd Toronto. Surrendered Okay Understand that I understand the Warren has has since been vacated, but that's beside the point. When a COP's his I warrant for your arrest I mean you're supposed to do is say what am I being arrested for? Okay I'll go peacefully ears might whereas my lawyer yeah. Instead, of no fuck you fight you tooth and nail, and if get away up the war still there, but you don't have me. Right. Exactly. Exactly and you know I got I got I got a I. got a interject because you know. My personal opinion is if you probably agree Is this. Cancer of case. started. It may have it may have had other sources. Okay. But its primary. Protagonist, in growth factor was Colin. Kaepernick a few years ago and I don't say that in a flattering manner. Okay. I've said it before the my opinion that Colin Kaepernick is the biggest fraud on the planet as pertains to the NFL. At least Ryan leaves when he signed what Leash Langley, when he signed, he knew he was shit approved the wish she had any faded off politely into the sunset because he saw a gay. young just tell the story as I. Recall it and you you you feel free to chime in when you. When when you when you if I'm off base okay. A lot of people don't remember this but you and I as King's football and many things in life have a have a memory quite a bit longer than than your average goldfish. Okay? I remember watching the first incidents of Cabernet court on code kneeling and he wasn't fucking Neil. He had just had an argument with his with with the head coach and I don't think it was Kelly. It may have been horrible. But he had the yard, the head, the argument with Joe it was horrible wasn't horrible yet. So out of you probably saw the clip to you can't find it now because it's Youtube everywhere else. He had he had A. Verbal altercation with Harbhajan and I can only assume in what we were told. You know later was that harbaugh. told him. No you're not starting a colon Cabernet got very unprofessional and like the diva quarterback that he is. Turn Turnhill stomped over to the bench slammed his helmet down in plop disaster down on the bench now by sheer and toll coincidence. Anthem had just started. The anthem it just started when that HAP-. ACI. I know you remember this is I think you and I talked about this at the time that it happened because we were mocking him because when I weren't weren't quarterbacks when we played the game and we know what divas they are even princesses, they are this. If you remember and I know you do espn headlines a couple of days. Later words were that Colin Kaepernick was going to be fine. Substantially for multiple instances of unprofessional conduct conduct deleterious to the team. Leading up to the altercation with harbaugh that happened where he plops his ass on the bench you remember that ideas that. Dakhla and it was it was post practice I. Believe I want a That later that week that a reporter asked him. About the state of the fines and Based on his lip based on. Let's just call it what it was temper Tantrum. Okay. And that's when Cabernet sold all this bullshit about he was doing it in protest etcetera etcetera and he played the race card, which we all know the press eats up hook line and sinker and never ever questioned. Ever On. Me It came across and partner Jackie No, you're good. The the instance of which we are discussing out my first thought on that was yes it's a temper tantrum and I'm about to be busted for having a temper tantrum. So allow me to make up some juicy. To Garner more attention to the fact that. This is happening to be Gimme Gimme. GimMe and I lost my starting spot. Well, that's the that's the point I'm making. He played the race card to avoid fight. For on professional conduct and he was he was outright given a past. I don't think he ever actually even actually got find something that was overlooked too is that is that nick is not a person of color is really not us he is a multi-racial okay and part of that find that he was going to get for unprofessional conduct was calling somebody else on the field the N. Word back can't say here because quite frankly it's feds even and number two I don't WanNa get show you monetize but that said that was part of that that was part of the fine to be levied. The fine was vacated. Okay. Because he was successful, you successfully played the race card and got out. Okay and this whole shift started this snowball at that point. as we as we all know you know he was he was basically the the the face man for chip. Kelly's offense that you know while short term short term effective was absolutely not sustainable. Okay. We all know that. And you combine that with the fact that the guy had. Just over just under a shooting just over sixty percent for completion rate. Even in that offense at his best day, he was a mediocre quarterback surrounded by a bunch of very talented people. Okay. So now it has become the fact that you know this whole narrative has has escalated by people that that know nothing about the actual game because. Football is simple. It's not easy, but it's simple. Is. The ultimate meritocracy. Okay talent hard work equals success. Okay there's a lot of guys. We can probably point him out on the field you and I. There's a lot of guys that that. That just simply outworked their competition to get where they are I'll give you. I'll give you one prime example and right now they call him the goat Tom. De. Tom. Brady was drafted was I can remember he was drafted. He was I. Don't think he was Mr irrelevant. But he was real close. He was the very bottom. Yes. Six he was very close to the very end of end of the draft in and he is he outworked is is competition. Now granted drew bledsoe. If people can remember back set for was not a very good quarterback anyways. He was only borderline better than Ryan Leaf and he went down Tom Brady took over in the rest as they say district but. No? One ever questioned, Tom? Brady's work ethic in those dynasty years in in in New England. Okay. Because he outworked he, he worked his ass off. Yes he was talented. Yes. He's physically gifted but that plus hardwork dedication to his craft turned into in the in the the hardware for the hand so to speak. and. anyways back to my point about Cabernet. All, these people talking about how Catherine doesn't have a job because he's bad for business or half rights, they're only half rice. Now I posted this to the page I know you read you probably it is I. Think I read this week we went to this is from ESPN DOT COM itself. Okay. ESPN DOT. com. The actual date this was published as March twentieth two, thousand seventeen. By their staff writer Kevin Seaford. and. I am just going to read it. I'm. GonNa. I'M GONNA. Try to read the whole thing. I'm trying Doug only try to read the parts that are relevant. But those those listening. If you go to our face, a bitch facebook dot com slash midnight patriots. You'll be able to find this article and we shared it the title of it is calling Kabir Knicks based problem performance. Politics. Day It starts off real simple. So Don't over think why Colin Kaepernick is still a free age simply put years have passed since he was ineffective quarterback he's twenty nine years old has succeeded in an unsustainable scheme as part of a well populated group of former starters who also remain available at as this week began now getting that was march twenty, twenty, seventeen. So they were in free agents. Okay. Let's. Let's move on here. It's blamed Colin Kaepernick's unemployment on his protest is to misread the way NFL teams make personnel decisions. that. I don't think there's any more true statement on Earth. Do you I? MEAN THAT'S Yeah. So it goes on protests where does say at any type of business that if you have lackluster performance, did you are guaranteed two hundred million dollar job? Number One and two I was GONNA say there have been divas troublemakers in the NFL before? Okay and Kim's and? Lewis Terrell on. You know. List goes on and on. And let's not forget the NFL is the lead cut an outright banned ray rice running back from the Ravens for domestic violence. Okay. Before he was convicted. Suspended A. Peterson for disciplining his child. Yeah for banking hit saw. Yeah. Okay for spanking his own child. Okay. So now they put criminals names on their helmet. so by but I digress I digress let's get back to the article. Just to just to go just to go. Teams are swayed I by players potential or lack thereof to help them win protest or not kapernick would be under contract. Now, if he had demonstrable if he had played demonstrably better in recent years. Let's look closer at where capper nick is as a quarterback and why that has left him sitting in a group that also includes fellow free agents, Jay Cutler Josh mccown Ryan Fitzpatrick and Robert Griffin the third. Again keep in mind. This is from shelvin teachings of this is three years ago. Okay. But. It goes on to some of the reason I liked this 'cause this is based on facts not just you know a bunch of race baiting bullshit. Kapernick grid NFL success came as part of the San Francisco Forty niners read Options Skiing Twenty, twelve to twenty four. In those three years, he rushed for Fifteen, hundred, seventy, eight yards which okay. I will give credit that impressive gudgeon impressive number. For. More than any other quarterback with the exception of Rush Russell Wilson Cam Newton so let's just call it what it is. He was third rushing quarterback against. It breath. Okay. I will not fall the net. His. Success. He threw more than twice as many touchdown passes interceptions helped him compile eighth best time quarterback rating in the NFL seventy point to over that period. But even then capper nick was one of the lease most. Least Accurate quarterbacks is sixty point one completion percentage ranked twenty third in the NFL and has percentage of off target throws judged on video by espn stats and information ranked eighteen. So. Based on just the stats alone he was a middle of the pack quarterback middle of the pack. Does that mean that he's better than half the other guys absolutely does that mean that that you know the drama he brings? Outweighs his skills is still setting the money in the monetary investment probably. Okay I agree or disagree just on that statement there. I would agree that yeah, he's a middle of the road quarterback. He had some skill. At. That position. That offense. You're right. Would it work somewhere else probably not but that's Changing teams, you learned their offensive scheme you learn what they do best blend yourself into that and you become part of the team not a one man show. that. I, mean you'd have to agree that most had coaches that have half a brain would go sixty, four, sixty point one completion percentage. even if you're even if you're going to do A. A bootleg offense even if you're going to do a boot offense. Play I can. Still going to have to be better than sixty point one. Periods I mean just entered discussion. Quarter, you're talking college level quarterback. Even if you're on a naked, do either one side, you're still depending on receivers tied ends backs to be open at some point that you can actually say, Hey, he's opened easel bewitched of the two weevils need a cheese her who exactly exactly union able to identify and hit those targets or at least give your guys in a position to succeed you know. I'd like to. Bring to Light I. Not Very long after capital started his quest masqueraded by some of justice whatever you WANNA call it only because he got in my mind and correct me if I'm wrong, he got busted out period. That's just the way it is you through Tantrum he got his ass busted will now I gotta cover with this to cover that with this, and then all of a sudden we have one big lie that snowball into the entire solstice thing that's going on currently. You're. Going to look they had to go. He ended up in Washington. In front of US rest. Explaining his side of everything that goes on great. Denver Broncos of whom I am a fan. I it. Does not get into that because. Pirate about that right. That's ultimate digression. Go ahead, John. elway. It had in fact offer Catholic before your contract. said. Hey. COMPLA-. Can come down because it wasn't enough money. Wait a minute. Let's look at your stats a sixty sixty point something or other completion percentage. Yes. You had fifteen hundred yards rushing, which as we've discussed is pretty phenomenal quarterback save. Russell. Cam. Newton. Maybe rg three hundred healthy. That's stretching it buttle throw it in there. Anyway. I. Really. Wanted to see if capital could be plugged into that offense and sell. Well, that's the that's the real trick. Isn't it? I mean? End and let's be clear. He turned it down because the salary was too low, not the money. Or maybe remember correctly, he turned it down because John elway wanted to load the one at the loaded up with incentives and say, okay, you exceed this mark you get ex you this you get what we go to the playoffs and when you get Z. Experience Cetera so wasn't of excellent. Yeah. But exactly to perform at your very best as cut your in the NFL, they don't take ship nothing while the that's when the NFL stands for not for lofts. That and let's be honest. It was not only. Did he had he had to meet performance criteria he had to me behavior criteria, EXAC? elway and the broncos weren't going to stand for this s J. W. S. J. W. Crap. That he's pulling. So let's go back to the article real quick. It'll it'll. It'll really start driving the point home. Okay. So I believe he started kneeling rating was two fifteen. So. Article Goes On. The issues that we were just talking about the increasing. Or decreasing completion percentage decreasing accuracy except sets. Those issues intensified in Twenty fifteen and twenty sixteen amid forty nine ers. Coaching turmoil in talent drain since the start of the twenty fifth season Kapernick ranks get this. Last in the NFL thirty five all five passers in off target percentage is off target twenty, two point six percent of the time which when she is the least accurate quarterback in the. League. As of the twenty. Fifteen. It goes on. Is Complete. Complete is completion percentage ranks number thirty, two at fifty, nine point one. He was still one of the NFL's most productive Shink quarterbacks, ranking number four total yardage over all those years but it didn't mitigate his passing deterioration and this is in my mind. This is the absolute most important line in the yard or ear and an adult. There is no more important attribute for quarterback accuracy especially for a free agent who is shopping himself teams with various schemes. In, the long term a quarterbacks running ability is considered a complimentary skill and one that is story. Fade with age or because of injuries, scrambling ability and arms drank are secondary to whether you can hit the target. That analysis backed up by numbers essentially wreck stay shit out of this current narrative will Cohen Governor never draw. Back. Dinners. Any beds no sorry. Have a fucking job because he sucks. Sex At what he does also, there's a theory going around the going around that it was right about twenty, nine, hundred he met his I don't know if she's still has girlfriend whatever evidently these ideas about radical justice one I'd ever definitely his girlfriend is, is some sort of radical s j w as well, and he was too stupid to either a lever to the side or be not listen door and just agree to disagree on stuff but then again. Go ahead exactly what it is. Power Pussy with exactly exactly and you quite frankly I can't fault them for that because you know that's ninety percent of marriages happen. We'll just we'll just leave at this point. Is that right there? That's You were saying regarding his ability to suck. But it started then I mean he the guy the guy got lazy. He got loud. Through the race card to cover his shit then he couldn't back up his mouth with performance. You know do you your ears? Rocco's fat okay. Let's talk about just a second. Let's talk about Shannon Sharpe just for ten seconds or for a few seconds. Okay. Shannon Sharpe. Is An arrogant prick agree or disagree now When I hang on, hang on that said. Shannon Sharpe liked to run his mouth about a lot of stuff at a lot of different times also true. Yes. Yes. Shannon Sharpe never failed toback his mouth up with his physical actions on field. Also. True. Unless I'm Clinton mistake, it have you seen the. I know he's A. He's a beast. His and by that, I, mean his physique and his skill level we're just unprecedented but you know I do I think running your mouth there's unprofessional Mind that you buy then back it up on the field nut so much. I mean. Go ahead. If I if I remember correctly now, remember this because there is significant events happened in my life sixteen nineteen. broncos are in the midst of the run to Super Bowl thirty two. Tonight game. In Kansas City in Kansas. City. I can remember. Watching a few days later because of recovering from surgery on. Shannon. Sharpe was literally being drug halfway across the field for most of the game by his helmet because he was talking some serious Shit Oh. Yeah. I. Remember Correctly Dr Thomas. If. If I get an incorrect Thomas Yeah. So. So pissed off the guy, he knocking, Kane insane composure in his professionalism in the game. You got what? I think. Say He lit it up. He was like Yeah. That's ten to twelve for. The Gargantuan One, twenty, one, twenty, six, and what two touchdowns. Yeah he was a month. So. All of a sudden sanders our. Love the Guy I've actually met him. Helvin individual. Love Tall. But he can copious amounts of Shit Oh. Yeah. Oh yeah that that man can back his mouth up. Oh Yeah. We have an and. He. End Let's let's break that down from an NFL perspective. So I'm a personnel manager. Okay and I have Shannon Sharpe as a free agent. His name comes across the wire I go holy Fuck Ball sharps available, and I already know that a he's allowed mouth be he likes to talk shit and sees extremely opinionated man but D-. The Guy Backs should have on the field I picked up the phone. I pick up the phone and say Hello Mr Shannon. Trump's lawyer her agent. This is me at the I would like to pay your your plant, a lot of money obscene amount of money to come help us when football game sets. Ended up with the. Exactly for whatever he was with the Ravens what three years. Say but he wanted them for four super bowl with their to. The argument that Colin Kaepernick doesn't have a job because Hashtag grace is complete an utter bullshit. Bullshit and the the fact that Roger Goodell has bought into this Shit Hook Line and sinker is even worse. Okay. You would think that that to be the commissioner of of a National League or National Professional Sports League that race in what eight to ten billion dollars. A year in gross revenue. You have. You'd have to have an IQ above your shoe size. Goodell even that these people that that they're they're professing to support. Social Justice. Wise. He realized that the vast majority of them do not watch the Games couldn't tell you five players in the league and doesn't even know couldn't name five teams lot I mean. She probably I mean. Look at some of the fan base. Did Not tell you the difference three, four, three defense. Yeah don't try to get him to describe the Tampa to. Exactly or various offensive formation. You're the simultaneous simultaneous possession roll which you and I can quote by heart understand completely. Exactly. Our guys we've got another segment coming up right after this brief break. Stay tuned. Midnight Patriot nations spartan with a shameless plug for our new gear shop shop. Dot. MIDNIGHT PATRIOTS DOT COM. T shirts, hats, hoodies, mugs, phone cases, and just about everything else in between we got you covered whether you're looking to embrace your insomnia, show your patriotism or make a liberals headaches blowed. Really, Shop Dot Midnight Patriots, Dot Com, and now back to the show. You know that's that said. I made a prediction in in midnight moment the last night moment and I want to run around wanted to run that by. Not. Only understand that the business portion of the of the game, but also the game itself. So this is going to the business portion now. One. Of the things that you and I both know is that owners very rarely. SAY WHAT THEY THINK Or say or reveal their plans in advance. Okay. I've noticed that the owners have remained. Suspiciously quiet. About the social justice campaign that's currently going on I do disagree with that. I mean like I said, I think Jerry Jones is really the only one that's actually made any sort of statement and it wasn't a very long. I ever Jones ever quiet. What that's that's my point. And say instead of instead of. Me thinks he protests too much. Me think she says nothing for more sinister Okay so I wanted to run this by this is my theory. Okay. Now we've confirmed the the the Monday night compal atrocity from last night. US. Or Susani from two nights ago that. We've confirmed that the viewership was down approximately twenty nine percent. Across the board in that double header. So if we take the two games Monday and the overall ratings of of being down for Sunday you're talking an average of of a twenty percent downer. It's one fifth of the audience of the television audience told the NFL the PISS off. Okay. Considering the the significant financial investment ESPN has for for the right. To. Monday night football. Let's just let's just call that loss unsustainable. Okay. So I am going to ask you to engage your owner brain for just a minute. Okay. So We're GONNA fast forward to the week after the Super Bowl's okay where things are notably notably quite Rosalie quiet. The coaching carousel began and things like that since. Day. Except that, there's going to be a rumor. Going to be a rumor. That the NFL that the owners are considering locking out the players because they want to renegotiate the contracts. And this will come as a surprise to dumb asses in the AT ESPN released. They're going to feign surprise. Okay. And we're going to start hearing things like while the coaches are not gonNa make anymore are putting hiring decisions are the owners are going to. Put a hiring decisions on pause for just We're going to review a few things and Blah Blah Blah. While then we're going to get to Russia's started free agency. And we'RE GONNA. Find out and it's probably going to be one of the one of the What's The guy's name? Remember his name. One of the reporters Schefter Adam schefter because he always breaks up he's. Probably. GonNa be schefter becomes. We have confirmed reports, the owners who are going to lock out the players affected nine am tomorrow or whatever. Okay. Now what's going to end up happening is this. The overall I would say, the overall revenue is going to decline somewhere in the area of twenty percent across the before the Lee across the. Across the season. Okay. Now again does just a prediction it might be higher. I hope it's higher until they stop dish this personally but. This is what's going to happen. You're going to get a massive ratings ratings cut. Even in the Super Bowl. Which means revenue is going to be down roughly thirty percents. Okay. What they're gonNA say is this is an unprecedented drop in revenue and the the losses are unsustainable. They're going to have to renegotiate the contracts. The players are GONNA have to take less money and this time the the ownership is going to be able to show concrete. The because of the drop in television revenue in Jersey sales and everything else. That they're going to have to renegotiate the contract. They're going to vote on removing Goodell as the commission. You're actually they're gonNA, they're gonNA end up forcing him out but the way it's GonNa play out this players are to get locked out. There's going to be a review of the deal of the of the current Labor Labor Agreement. The new agreement is GONNA. Have a significantly lower. Revenue Pool total that that the players are going to get. And they're going to have conduct they're going to have enhanced conduct policy which include the jewel stand for the national anthem. You will not hiding locker room for it. And you're going to we're going to not endorse anyone as far as any sort of political failure, your ideology on the field, and if you do not only will your contract be terminated but you'll be you'll be on the breadline by your suspended for a year. Now maybe the suspended for year won't come to pass but. Engage your own our brain for just a second and then look at the strike years that came up and you tell me how how how. Or how far I'll fight on that. Will. Allow me to. Dive into this plan I mean. Here we go. I am an owner of a NFL team. Meaning I have had to. Put Out. Let's use an arbitrary figure five hundred million dollars cash right upfront. Chooses five hundred. Half a billion. Cool. I'm. Glad. Yeah. Five hundred million dollars up front in order to gain my team have somewhere to play. The voted on passed and approved by the NFL. As either an expansion team whatever then. To, Cherry pick the other teams around here so I can build my team. In hopes that a I get a return on investment. That said if I'm going to dump five, hundred, million dollars out. A team equipment place play contracts that are stretched for X. number of years. This mice guaranteed this much at a signing bonus this much. Not. including the money paid to the team from the NFL for reaching a wildcard round, a divisional round championship round, and ultimately the Super Bowl. There are incentives paid to the teams by the NFL for attaining postseason plum. Yeah So that said with everything that goes on here. Currently we're martyring. Convicted felons we are. Using the NFL. As a soapbox. As an owner. would. Say? Okay. I can understand. The Point I understand where you're coming from I understand yes. Shit doesn't like this doesn't need to happen. It does there's nothing I can physically do about it personally except point out to you that you're not them. You are a multimillionaire more working your way to that point because of your talent, your skill and your ability play the game price. You as a athlete. well-fed well trained. Best shape, your ever loving life you have a house bigger than anything you've ever grew up in, you've got cars for days all these other things but. You need to remember that you are entertainer You're not a politician. So, that said. When to go into your point? After the Super Bowl. Until they actually have one right. That two weeks later, when everything's died down in the in the winter sprayed is over and losers or duck griping and the coaches players have made their way to their respective all. Wherever. That may be they're probably their private castles. Yes don't don't live in a castle guarded by you know dogs bigger than. Most people's. Cars. Were we will probably see as you said. Well you know revenue was down. Because of viewership is down across the board anywhere between currently twenty twenty, two percent to encroaching upon thirty percent. For Games you know TV, rights merchandise sales are going to be down. People are actively boycotting across those media and they're actually making their voice known by not watching. All of a sudden if we were to take thirty two current teams. And we look at. All the owners in this how much money they have? Now if we were to take thirty percent of total investment apart. As a conglomerate figure. We're talking a loss of probably and I would strong. Guess. Somewhere in the neighborhood of anywhere between two and two point, five, billion dollars while even go you want all you can go one better I think since the economy has basically picked up I mean you gotta remember the day to ten billion was during the Obama Konami which was one of the worst economies history. Okay. So that said you gotta figure that now it's probably going to be between ten and twelve. So if you have a twenty percent revenue law, if you have a almost thirty percent, you're talking about three billion dollars. That's a three billion dollar loss. So even if even if you spread that across thirty two teams, you're talking about what? Three hundred, million dollar loss per franchised. and. So and a lot of the smaller market. Good. So again, as an owner with Joan, arbitrary figure of five, hundred, million dollars starting I just lost seventy five percent of your or yeah of my revenue that I put into have an NFL team. Well, exactly. Well Number One and number two what anybody thinks that now? Okay. We all understand the cats at the revenue sharing For Those of us that are initiated, understand understand the the the reason for revenue. Okay. That's that's a given. Okay. Even still a thirty percent cut to that revenue devastates small-market teams devastate. Okay that's. Cleveland Cleveland Cambe that's Detroit. Well, I think Detroit is a bit bigger, but I catch meaning. into. Jacksonville. Flow? Buffalo Alright. That unders. Anyway. They're too big but no I hear you here's here's here's the thing the smaller market teams are going to move may if this continues maybe on the verge of bankruptcy and and if you really don't think that the NFL owners will lock out the players to avoid that. I just think everybody's so naive that they shouldn't even be a football fan you can. Football I in my opinion, these played the players and Adele are cutting the owners throats and I don't think the owners appreciate it number one and number two I. Think the owners are more in touch with their demographic their fan base style people want to believe i. don't say that they like their fan base because obviously as the executive class billionaires general ended the tend to hate working people or at least have a disdain for them. Okay. But the point being is that it's unsustainable model for them to go forward to continue this crap. Of K, it's it's absolutely ludicrous. So I think about beat that horse to death did you have anything to add on just on that? Final thought regarding that as an owner is a businessman I yeah exactly. Exactly. His businesses to? Yes he owns the team but as a business owner, you're always looking to. CRUISER BOTTLE BLONDE Increase but also you know they've got, they've got a commitment. You know what I mean I mean the bottom line is there are associated with raising revenue to pay Patrick mahomes half a billion dollars over the next. Seven years. Of. The point the point is this is that there are costs associated developing that revenue and win the players behavior or when when the when the the players union in the League encourages behavior that is deleterious to to that mission. Then what are the owners supposed to do? Gordon exactly. They locked the doors take resigning before we open this and then players you're GONNA WE'RE GONNA have to do a big restructure here. Sorry. You know this is this is not you? Not You know you're not this side of the world you guys are on the upper echelon. Of money you have succeeded in. On yourself up by your bootstrap for lack of terminology, you have made it playing a game that you love passion for three enforce your point duty not only are they a privileged class? Okay. Let I verified this I verify this last night. I made a statement that that. The NFL, the people on the NFL minimum as in rookies that that you know what we're undrafted free agents, right that are somehow made the squad, which is more powerful MAZAFA. A No experience. Rookie. Signed as a free agent this year in the League makes a minimum of six hundred, thousand dollars. Six hundred, ten, thousand dollars I then went to the Department of Labor's website guess what the average household income for Americans is as twenty twenty. Sixty, one, thousand, three, hundred. Yes. They working person would take ten eleven years to make. They're making six months show and this is not this is not an insult. I'm only going to use the label for for effect. Hacks in the NFL make ten times. The average working family does and they dare fucking lecture us about what our values should be faulk them. Big F what. Exactly. With a with capitalize all letters with with several exclamation points at the end. So that said I. Underlined and and I tell us is never. That's that said, I I wanNA give credit where it's due also understand that you know. What did I just go off on the NFL to you know to to to the end up with surprise we'll tell you why because You know even in the worst of situations, even even in the darkest night, there are rays of sunshine out gather are rays of light and I want to heap praise on two particular players, and these are the only two players. That I'm aware of have done this if any of you out there. Needed to midnight Patriot nation are aware of more please let us know. So we can give them their just desserts in their props. I want to give particular a credit to a hundred in the way of of the of the Pittsburgh steelers. Mr Villanueva is a former army ranger That said he made a big splash stirred shit storm by doing the right thing. I'm not going to get into the to the criminal that that the that the steelers. We're trying to honor Norma GonNa try to justify it didn't happen there but. Mr Vienna wave. Did something very classy He caped over the criminals name and he chose to honor sergeant first class all when cash. Now I believe I'm saying that correctly cut me some slack by brute if I if I. A brutalized his name that is not the intention. To say how I believe it's spelled. But sergeant first, class all, when. Cash. who was killed in Afghanistan? And I I, WANNA. I WANNA take. The chance to really You know he preys on on Mr Villain away for for going against the grain and for honoring in a true fallen hero on instead of instead of the criminal. So. Well on on that. The next one and probably the biggest honors of the latest give to the Jaguars tight tyler effort. I think I'm saying his name correctly also I don't think it's effort at the. But again, please forgive me if I've Jaguars fans if wrecked his name to. That being said that were I for also You know went against the grain he chose to honor the life of David Dorn David Dorn for those of you that that don't know was retired police officer. I believe it was Saint Louis. He. police chief Sir about that. He was retired police chief and he. was acting on behalf of a friend to go and check is Friends Pawn Shop. And he was gunned down he was killed Doing doing that by a felon in possession of firearm each shot this this legitimate euro From behind in the back of the head, which was incredibly cowardly act. ADORNS widow. was featured at the Republican National Convention. So those be the she told the heart wrenching story and As much as I am I gotTa tell you broaden orphee side, but he loved me misty. I was just her story about David's life was very touching and the impact on her family were simply crush. So I wanNA other drove I drove home the point. Your choice exact life exactly as what makes you? Exactly you know people people come from from bad situations and rise to great heights in as far as I know. This is the only country in the world that that can happen. Where you can make what you want of your own life. Okay. The biggest prison that we have in this country, the prison in our own minds. So A. Big Praise to do Mr Bean away and Mr for will done. I still have the continue my. My boycott because of my standards but you gentlemen have shown that there is a a ray of light in darkness. So Phoenix where you have anything to add or have we beat this to death. By by Pres for. There are people in the NFL that are serving of. Respect for me for one. Not because of their wallet or their house or their cars. But they chose stand for the national anthem. As. SOMEONE WHO Leaves in their country. Leaves in the American dream all though little hard to attain sometimes. The anthem regardless of anybody's political stance. The gentleman across the nation. And the NFL NBA MLB. I stand with you guys choose to stand in honour your country. That is. The way it is your will said. Anybody else wants that is your choice. I. Respect your choice I don't like it but I do respect it. But I stand with the gentleman who chooses stanton honor the country, the greatest country on this earth. Gives them every opportunity to excel in anything that they choose to? Like professional football or professional athletics exactly. I think it. I think it's worth mentioning here. I know we said we beat the source of, but I wanNA bring up another topic to. Weird Midnight Patriots all of us. May disagree with with what someone says, but we would fight to our desk to protect their their right to say those words. That being said I think one of the other things that the public is piss pot tired of is the privileged wealthy assholes. Being able to have different sets of rules at their workplace than we do. In the Corporate World in William and most smaller companies you do not have. You do not have freedom of speech. Okay. You will be shown the door if you bring up politics religion, etc etc. Okay. With social justice causes or otherwise. They can show you the door. Okay and I don't think I don't think it's Ok these. Use Their their platform on the field or in any way while a uniform to promote their agenda. Okay. Now, I think you and I would agree with this if the NFL Players Association wants to get together and host either a live event or televised event. when they are not playing and they're out of uniform. And they want to tackle these issues donate money to causes give away money whatever I think that would be a perfectly acceptable display. That's fine. Okay. But I think the reason they don't is they know that the cause is a loser. Okay. They're not willing to risk their own money you know to they're not willing to put their money with their mouths are in order to have their protests but but you know somehow everybody else should just shut up and and honor was they're trying to do and I think that that is excellent. You know policy at its finest end. America's PISS POT tired of turning channel I. think that's a big factor as well. As your thoughts unfortunately mean here to. Drive your point. I could see. "Second player on the double team. On Yokich. But you know, Paul Millsap is one of the Nuggets best three point shooters. If you're going to leave him wide open, you're playing with a little bit of a little bit of poison. Michael Smith, the referee overturned that call. So it's Utah basketball. Go bear has it on a shovel pass off the angles of the three? That was no good. One hand rebound comes down in Holyoke removes it right to left here to start the third quarter. Why would you put a smaller player and Morgan on the whole damn Not sure, I'm not sure because the other the other part of that is Nicole Yokich is working against smaller players on offensive rebound opportunities. Like when he just got right there. On Morgan, a rookie.

"Sure games are already somewhat worthless as it is, but That That's a tough situation. Exactly. You know, for example, the bears. Obviously they have a high profile quarterback competition that they're said to have here And how do you evaluate that? If there's no game, it becomes more like college football where AH lot of team have these quarterback competitions in August, but they don't actually play games and it's very common to see The first week or two of the season. Actually, the quarterback's gotta split time or Suddenly whom the starter is the second week on DH. I don't know if that's going to end up being how it bears thing plays out, but it'll certainly be interesting lot of health and safety issues to work out there. But as far as I can tell right now, they do expect to start training camp on July 28th I would you have some breaking news from the world of baseball and concerning the White Sox? This just came out a couple of moments ago. I already hear from this statement from the White Sox is part of Major League Baseball returned to play Health protocol. Chicago White Sox players staff in front ofthis members received covert 19 testing of these two players have tested positive. Both individuals who tested positive Zwart asymptomatic and have been isolated in Chicago and are currently being monitored by a White Sox medical staff. Contact tracing for both was conducted. Both individuals would receive follow up testing in the coming days. They will return to activities once they have recorded consecutive negative tests and passed appropriate covert 19 protocols. So A couple of White Sox players we can throw in there as well. And you know, there are some teams that are releasing names, their sums that that are not respecting respecting privacy. Even now, this one hits a little bit closer to home. Yeah, And I knew we were going to get these role soon from the lights axing from not terribly surprised this skin out, So I'm on the phone with you. But Um Hi. That's the way it's working. It's essentially it's up to the players, Tio Give the team permission to release their names. So we've seen some of that You can understand the privacy and then the hip of law they're in, you know, going on here, but I also think it it does the servants one of players Are willing to put their name on it out there because I think it does help the public kind of understand the magnitude of the situation. Um, but look I said it a few minutes ago. You just You have so many players here working out. Coming from all different areas of the country, and they got to Chicago this week to report to camp. It's not surprising that two players have tested positive for the White Sox and maybe we'll find out who they are not but Hopefully everything the White Sox and Major League baseball doing right now the protocols will keep the rest of the players safe. Then we may get the schedule azaleas tomorrow as well. For this crazy 60 games sprint to the finish to sow more. Baseball was probably coming our way later later on tonight or tomorrow as well. And I appreciate you taking a little time here on your Sunday Go out, Enjoy it, and we'll see you around soon. Hopefully socially distance, of course. Of course you soon and thanks Adam Adam Hogue, who was our bears insider here. W g. N also covering the White Sox for NBC Sports Chicago these days and appreciate him taking a few moments, But yeah, if you just Just tuned in again about three or four minutes ago. The White Sox say that a couple of their players have tested positive. Both were asymptomatic contact tracing was employed at that point. So those that they were around have been notified. These guys are being quarantined in Chicago will be followed up by the White Sox medical staff, and they cannot return to the building until they have consecutive negative test. So these guys are getting tested often just to make sure that Since there is such a big cluster that you don't get this thing to spread throughout a team. We've seen it already going through a couple of teams and you hope Teo get out ahead of this year, at least to prevent it from Spreading any further anymore. Details come about that. We will certainly inform you of that. We're gonna take a quick time out more coming up here on the Sunday morning show and emails or sitting in for the great Dean Richards here today on 7 20 W g N helpful hardware folks.

"I see that we have molly on the line. Let's go ahead and patron hatcher in Mali good morning. How are you. I'm great. How are you doing always exciting for me to and and I thought that that was a wild episode last night. I'm sorry to didn't work out in your favor but I'd love to hear more about what was going on at the vocab tribe tribe and I know that Jeff probst talked about you as somebody that you have whiteboards of survivor and you're a huge fan of the show. So where ear did everything go wrong in your calculations so I knew going into the show that I was going to be perceive as a threat and Michael the beginning was kind of stay under the radar gets bill everybody not he's already via social so so I kind of wanted to surround myself with everyone else who is threats let other people kind of both make decisions and blow their own spots so that I would kind hi to you okay at first and then yet my who I wanted to play with for the long run which obviously didn't pan out the tribe. Have you pegged in terms of. You've got the dreaded poverty two point. Oh you've got all the guys wrapped around your finger when you were out there where you're saying boy oy really got all these guys wrapped around my finger or did they totally read the situation wrong. No of course I didn't think I had all the guys after my finger. Oh it was so crazy to be hearing that only after I got out with that was really the reason I kind of. I know that I think in throughout throughout the casting process I did identify with poverty identified here when she was on the show. I think they were both really competent and kind of our unfazed by the people who can can be negative around us and I think we bring a similar aura to the game but I did not participate that it was so funny reading Josh Hollywood Reporter interviews with like I guess Tommy Jason and Lauren All said from pre-game but they thought I was like poverty which was shocking to me a compliment. It is a compliment. I'm super flatter. I get it I just I was. I think this was an interesting casting phenomenal cast but I was into I I was like where is the like hot twenty year old woman like why why am I the one who's like seen smiling everywhere. There should be someone else but that is how it went and I I am glad I was happy with how I was presented. How went out I feel it goes really true to myself well. If you play again you have it'd be less charming. I didn't think I was eating charming. I'm being myself. I can give you some tips on how to be less. Charming and have people not be charmed by you. If you ever play again. I I WANNA know excellent. Will you watch the episode last night. What were some things that you saw. That really surprised you. If anything I think I was so built into like worst case scenario. This is going to be a total disaster. I am so embarrassed and I've been really holding this in for the past six months and I dissected. The episode started with that kind of morning. Are you between the morning snapped at me. From Nora. I was instantly relieved and felt so liberated that this was how they were showing it. This was it was out in starting and everyone would know so so i. I don't know if surprised is wasn't super surprised by anything I guess the amount of attention that was put onto onto surprise me because I think especially from from Jackson perspective. We weren't like this like power threesome that was always hanging out but we were hanging on alert group and I think what largely bonded us. What's made everyone from the tribe? Notice US and group is together with more of our attitudes and our actions because all three of us did feel comfortable and we were getting along with everyone on the tribe I and we were happy and having probably more social conversations and get to know your conversations than strategic conversations stations out there and I think that's kind of what group is all and was perceived as this like inflated sense of confidence so I think that was a little surprising because we really majority of my memories from the six days whereas a group and I think that wasn't shown quite as much at at the tribal council of the you were asked about or you the opportunity to respond to Jason's comments about how that he felt like that he was sort of ostracized from the group and you you said. You were offended by those remarks and that wasn't how you saw the situation. Was that actually how you felt or you're just trying to defuse use the situation in terms of the Jason Getting off. The Hook. I offended was was accurate. I was offended because what one of the things they did. Show is that I I was pretty closely jason out there. I liked him. He gives off the lawyer vibes like he lied about his profession but I didn't buy it and he was someone who I did want to work with. I think Jason probably of everyone on the tribe the most similar in just kind of our general attitudes and feelings feelings about survivor I like Jason I did approach him and I talked to a lot which wasn't shown and then when he and he told me an advanced advanced to tribal that he was planning on doing this idol strip thing pat tribal to get the target off. I was like that's really dumb. Are you doing that for television television because that's stupid and I don't like it when people do things for television. I think it's annoying so I think I was both offended offended. Let's say he would sit there and say like I've been in purgatory because he wasn't even good graces especially now knowing that he was very aware that he wasn't going home that I was like. He wasn't purgatory and no one everyone he he handled he was. He didn't additional like he was looking looking for Heidel. Everyone noticed no one liked it but that was about an hour and then he kind of freaked out and by two he handled it like a freaking wreaking champ and walked around with tail between his legs and apologize to every single person and didn't apologize but had one like hey like. Let's get to know each other relations with everyone and I think that set the tone for days three through six a lot more than him in purgatory me. Can you tell us a little bit about what it was like to live with Nora on the beach It was exactly like it seemed on television. how how do you it seems like it was a new adventure a minute yes. I think that's accurate she. I honestly had so personal issue with her. I had we didn't have any specific conflict other than that morning. When we woke up after raining all night and I I did sleep during the night is did the other seven or eight people other than Nora. Janet didn't sleep very much and then when she was speaking to me about that I just like this. Is I sleeping I. I'm I'm sorry that you were up all night working but it was nighttime and I think for me weaving with her was it was trying. 'cause I'm a very like rational calm person like I don't like to cause problems where there are none in. That's kind of what I felt. She did quite often out there and that was something that made me think she'd be a liability moving forward because you would be able to predict what she would be doing in the case of a tribe swap or merge and then also just someone who. I personally want want one. It's like Sh- she causing a problem on camp when there isn't any to me. It's like why would you do that. Why wouldn't you just like sit around and have fun and be working. If each other there ended up being I think seven votes in total that went against you at that tribal council who are some of the people that you felt the most betrayed by going in so first thing when I when when I got out I mean this also goes to show that I didn't feel specifically close with Jack in New Mall out there. I had no idea no idea who didn't vote for me. I honestly still thought that they didn't tell her about the vote because she wouldn't be trustworthy. You the information I I had truly idea but definitely the two people who is most I think most hurt by and then most thinking like wow I this is my fault. I should've reinforced his relationships more where Kellyanne Janet because I had good conversations with both of them and out there for multiple days and I think I in my head truly did want to work with them and knew Jack and Jamal wanted to work with them and I thought that we were. I thought we were good. I think if I had sat down with them and really solidified like hey. I actually really wanted you guys. We could be really a really powerful group of like rotational a little bit less emotional women. I think that could have been compelling thing for them. I also think it would have been to their advantage. Do you think that any of the NAP talk contributed to the target that was on the three some of you Jack Jamal the NAPA. Oh when Jamal said we're GONNA now. I never left I I spent so I don't think so I'm not sure that was from what I remember that because I was just the three of us talking and other people hurt but I think are generally relaxed attitude because we were not paranoid or worried came off to everyone else as a lot more complacent than we actually felt like I think we just felt kind of trustworthy and that the people we had been talking to we felt I don't know we trusted the people who were talking to you that they were going to do. They were kind of playing the similar game we wanted to or they wanted to play with people well who got along with 'cause we did. We got along with everyone. I can tell you hard spent the last few hours before tribal and it was as Janet and Lauren and Jamal and Dora and I all without and went like we're like on the raft and the water and Janet and I saw shark and it was like the scary kind of shark that kind of I could see janiking scared that I got scared but it was really cool and it was a it was a really cool fun final final moment and it wasn't just me relaxing. It was everyone because I think they were so worried about keeping at bay essentially so so I I don't I think the NAP was taken out of context show Jamal storing okay so did you have any suspicions about what Kelly had to say when she came back from the island of the idols I did not think she had an idol. No I was very I was thrown by her or crying because she was crying. It was you didn't see it for too long air but it ended up being it was kind of long we're all sitting there and she was crying and saying how how much she was sad about being away from us and how is like really nerve wracking and all these things and I didn't really identify with that and I think I was kind of hung up on the fact kind of similar to Jason Idle Strip search that is she crying. How do I feel about this like what's happening but I I generally believe I believe that I thought she was lying about what happened out there but I did not think she had an idol. Okay Molly as somebody who's studied the game. What's the thing that our listeners who one day see themselves playing this game. What something that you could not have accounted for more ahead of time as somebody who was trying to learn everything they could about the game so my advice. I wish someone gave me and that I would tell myself next time. would be one. Ask every person who you love in your life like why. Why would you want to get rid of you because I think one of the things is that I didn't realize that I I I didn't I don't think of myself as like a charming charming charming person in any way and I wasn't anticipating being seen as like such a social threat right off the bat so that's something that then when I got home all all my friends at sale near like molly. Obviously that's why you want to get rid of you like so I think the ready to hear things about yourself and just ask hey. What's wrong with me? Why would you want your enemy and the second piece is you need always think you're going getting voted out and you need to always be thinking why why would ever want is similar vein to the first piece like why would everyone want to get rid of the old times okay because in my mind. I was like why would they. I want to get rid of me. I'm I'm pleasant. I did do work around camp. I was I think that asset and the challenges and certainly stepped up so in my mind there is no reason eh but that's because I was thinking I was doing like the thinking bias of where you're thinking. It's easy to think about what you would like to hear all all right. Molly I gotta run..

"For more information there, paulie was. Saying how 'bout we have a draft where two players all time to start your team? But you can't draft Michael Jordan. I was just thinking RJ baron Zion could end up together tonight. And what a combo that would be. So everyone in the room picks her two players and gives a reasoning Michael Jordan is off the board, now, can if somebody takes your player, then you not a draft just your reasoning of your place, any player all time, you're suing their healthy. You get them healthy. Okay phrasing. I'll let you start. All right. I was looking at things like confidence skies. It can hit the long range shots that leadership ability and could complement each other, and it would be very interesting to see I'm going with Kobe Bryant and Larry Bird as my two guys. Wow. Wow. I like it couple of killers. Wow. Mclovin. That would be wild. So I was thinking about everything to, I'm gonna put Steph curry and Akim Elisha, Juan together to cover all my bases keen can run up and down with curried until you down to bad. Yes, he can. Seton O'Connor junior the third. Did you have to go to me? I'm going to take. This is hardcore recency bias and I'm not really sure why anytime nah. I already said, I was just gonna throw out to random names anyway. Because every time I keep going through named them like well, this is good. This is bad. I'm gonna take Kevin Durant. And I'm gonna take LeBron James. Okay. I've heard of them Bali. My two players are Larry Bird and key Malaysiua Larry Bird would be a killer, nece, NBA Huby, like Kevin Durant because of his height and his three point shooting ability, I don't care about defense, and I came allies. One can do everything one of the more underrated players. He had seasons wherever it's twenty eight points a game fourteen rebounds a game four and a half blocks game. He would be uncomfortableness NBA. Yes, mclovin. Can I switch by guys can do we gotta go another go round here? No, I've, I've total buyers were more. No. The draft was over. Who did you take in the first place? I took Stephan Akeem. I want LeBron Bill Russell I just to go totally cut, right? I, I would take Larry legend in LeBron. I take burden LeBron. Two great unselfish players dangerous players. They're going to run and we're going to have fun. We apple some of the people not drafted. Magic Johnson criminal Jabbar. Tim Duncan Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Julius Erving, etc. I will taper Lynn. Yes. See. Yes, I would see, like Kareem is an interesting one to me because today is rape. But in today's NBA, I mean, it's kind of like, like, we've made months of content out of Todd having the hook shot. You know, it's kind of a joke now, I would I go fence, but I could take bird LeBron plan any era on a per cent. Yeah. Like it doesn't matter the air. Yeah. Like I can play. Yes, mclovin, they're both kind of threes. I we a lot of us complimented guys that are similar positions, aren't they? They're they're point forward. Great passers. "Think I ever thought that I would mention the sentence, but I think after what we saw last night in game for the Western Conference finals, the blazers and the Golden State Warriors. I think it's completely appropriate to say for a team that is going for its third straight championship and his into the finals for the fifth straight year. I do that. Since the Boston Celtics, a sixties in a completely different era, the NBA. This Golden State team might be the most under appreciated team NBA. And I think they know that they're playing off of that, which, which I completely understand you get it your human being. And we've been saying this all along, once Kevin Durant went down that these guys all understand, we've done this before without Kevin Durant. And you're gonna hear sound especially from Draymond green who's been playing unbelievably. Well, and I've loved hearing him talk after the game's about breaking down games. And he's one of the first of all them, saying, we need, Kevin Durant, in the finals, my opinion, they don't listen. I know people are saying, Milwaukee, I can beat them even straight up. I don't think so. I mean, they're forgetting even the stars. You have two players in triple double. Triple doubles case anybody doesn't know one nineteen one seventeen win four Golden State in overtime in this one, but two players Draymond green at a triple double. Steph curry had triple double. I mean ridiculous. But what their role players are doing is absolutely incredible. All we keep talking about. So we talk about Steph and clay, and Draymond maybe taking personal personal, that Ono. Kevin Durant gone. These guys can't win on what they're doing. You know, well is the role players players are taking a personal because we have been the one thing. Yeah. Member they did this without covered right now. They had different role players into different bench. That was really good for them. These guys must've taken that to heart as well, because a lot of them are also playing. It's not like the benches. Shrunk, no here, and all other just playing two or three guys playing six of the bench. It's crazy. And these guys are coming through. Yeah. Listen. We got a lot to get to have a deep dive on this game. We also have the entire disastrous mess. Oh of the Los Angeles lay are a rudder 'less mess, and it starts at the time. Absolutely. And we'll get into all of that. Plus a ton of football new. Some of it really bad in terms of injuries some of it interesting, and perhaps, most importantly, kids, we're gonna teach you up a little bit. We are just understand some one thing we'll get into this later when the NFL says to player team of mutually agreed to part ways it ain't ever mutual. Don't ever buy it. That is the biggest lie out there in all sports, because nobody walks away agrees to billions of dollars, just because that never happens. We'll get into that later. But we have to start with the Golden State Warriors doing it again, in overtime, one nine thousand nine hundred seventeen taking down the Portland trailblazers base sweep them out, and might they do it in a way, that is just remarkable. This was the third straight game where they fell behind by at least fifteen they were down seventeen points. And it just didn't matter poorly came out there and gave them their best shot for the third straight game and Golden State said, that's fine. Hold, my beer when it mattered most the players that you need to step up. Up stepped up and really the amazing to me about this team didn't have. Dell was the MVP of the finals, the first year. They won the championship in this incarnation. He wasn't there. Kevin Durant wasn't there. Boogie. Cousins hasn't been there and it was just we're good. They showed whatever that, that phrases championship medal over, you wanna talk about whatever that thing is whatever that it is they have it, and they showed it in three straight games, you mentioned it the double digit game two three and four seventeen eighteen seventeen. That was the lead. The Portland had last night, it was a seventeen point lead in the third quarter that ended up being in third quarter third quarter that ended up being eight point lead going into the fourth quarter and a tie ballgame with about four minutes ago as we'll get into through this game. But the question gets asked. Is it more Golden State when they come back more Portland, losing it? And like most of these situations, it's a little because Golden State knows how to come back. I mean when they were down. Seventeen what do they do? They going to twelve mile run, so Portland's at home trying to get a game here. No, listen. They're not gonna win the series when you down. Threes, if you're playing for pride grind hard and we've seen this team as we just mentioned up double digits. They've been they've been taking it to Golden State, so you're up. Seventeen next thing I know it's a twelve run for Golden State the right back in the game. So it's definitely I think that is on both sides of Golden State knowing how to play because they had the championship medal as as you as we always here, and let's be honest for, for Dame, Lillard and CJ McCollum. They're wearing out. Yeah. And you can understand why. Because everything is on them. Everything is on them. So while they sometimes shoot well early. Or we see the point total in them twenty eight twenty and twenty six last night. I believe it was but coming late when they when they needed when they're losing the lead need to get it back and order to close game. That's when they seem to be a little worn out. Yeah. Listen. You're right, Damian had twenty eight call him. Twenty six. But three pointing obviously, I think the way he has to work defensively against Steph curry, and Klay Thompson played a part of that you have to worry about the injuries only four of twelve from deep. But at the end of the day, this is about the war. You're saying, hey look we get it. We understand that what we need to do. We are capable of doing when we have to do it. And Steph curry, basically said, look, we've been here before this was him last night on sports center. Our first-quarter tonight, gave us an opportunity to stay in a couple of blows, and then Meyers Leonard letterhead the night, life. Dame CJ got loose a little bit, and they place. But we know forty eight fifty three minutes. Whatever it takes. There's still time for us to leave our input on a game. We never lose your composure of paying at all. You'll gotta buckle down and played a full game Mike to meet one of the most amazing qualities for any athlete is the ability to suck. And then turn find a way to get it, right. A couple of things that, that come to mind immediately. Russell wilson. In the NFC championship game against the Green Bay Packers few years ago, he was terrible for three and a half quarters. Then they got a sniff of life and low and behold, he was better. Tom Brady Super Bowl fifty one was awful through pick. Six against the falcons twenty eight to three they couldn't get into the end zone. But as soon as they come up with that strip sack when they were down twenty eight twelve with seven minutes ago it was like a, a switch was flipped and he was a better player. And we've seen this three straight games from the Golden State Warriors. The Portland trailblazers are taking it to him included in that second game in Golden State at oracle. They are up big they're moving, and they found a way to get that to me is the most impressive thing any athlete can do when you're not going well. And you're getting blown out and all of a sudden well we gotta we gotta do better boob. You turn it on. That's the most impressive thing. I think I've ever. Yeah. Again, seventeen down and then you're going to twelve mile run and players involves CJ McCollum really talked about that. We'll get to. But can we just take a quick moment here and just give it up for Meyers Leonard? Yes. Yes. I mean, if you're a casual basketball fan, I'm gonna say you're lying, if you say, oh, yeah. Meyers leonard. I remember him the first round pick in two thousand twelve out of Illinois, Illinois. Absolutely. This dude, all of a sudden got brook, Lopez in his glud and start knocking down threes, like going out of style. Five of eight from three point line, including a step back three seven one and stepping back. You are stepping back your studying wave. Never scored. If I got this correct. Yes, never scored twenty five in college and never scored twenty five been in the NBA since two thousand twelve head twenty five in the first Hazak ended up thirty points in this game. So why what a night for that now comes into law. So it's going to be forgotten, but it won't be forgotten in the Leonard household, exactly what it twenty five. I have never had twenty five before every finishes with thirty points game. Okay. And again eight three. This is crazy. The warriors, right. You think you're going to get thirty from Myers, man. Good luck. We'll see in game five. No, they just don't care. The warriors are cold blooded assassins when it comes to finding a way to close a game and Mike. They are now in the finals for the fifth straight. Eight year. Something that has not been done again since the Celtics went to ten straight in the fifties and sixties in completely different era completely. And let's throw in the caveat there that we all think the bulls would have done that in the nineties. Remember they wanted ninety one ninety two ninety three two year break as. Michael Jordan, went to play baseball and maybe love for other. And then came back, two years later, one free more, you got to believe he was there. They probably would have went to maybe at least five right eight, but you have potentially. It's exactly right. But it didn't happen. So you do you have to go back to the Celtics in the late fifties in the in the sixties when they went to ten straight. So that that's kind of where we are right now with this team. And I don't see him losing. I don't see him either by the way, we'll get to CJ McCollum had to say a little bit later because I think at some that perfect really did it really mean if the end of the day, this is about Draymond green, by the way, second straight, triple double. I wore your player ever to do that he. Steph, both had triple doubles that it never happened before an NBA postseason play two teammates triple double in the same game. But this is all about one more time going back to the finals and Draymond green has been feeling it since Kevin. Durant went out. He has been a wrecking ball. That was Steve Kerr's in game three and he was enjoying the moment after game four and going back to the finals. It was good luck today. Are you guys gonna fly down for the finals -absolutely? Okay. Today. I'll pay for the ticket moso let's get together after this is over. But I got about his flight to the finals. Hotel. No. I can do that given change with a reporter. But I mean, that's that listen. They can do whatever they want. He has been playing lights out. I've been loving hearing him talk after the game, even before the games of how he's been breaking things down. And talking about the, the they're playing how they've been doing it, especially with the role players you mentioned that triple double most. Triple doubles in a series clinching win, not shockingly. Magic Johnson has the most with eight and then Draymond with four LeBron with three. Yeah. I mean, the guy said he is the clue you have. And he even said we have four all world players on the team. And when he said that I thought he was going to mention himself, right? But he said Steph and clay, and Kevin Durant and boogie cousins, you know, and he said that, while to those guys are out, that's when he was talking about the other guys that are stepping up getting the job done, but he is playing some of the best ball you seen out of this guy and continue to say the way he plays you love me on your team. And you hate him when you're..

"And it just sort of hasn't really worked that relationship. And then he also talked about gal face really interesting on gamma face. He he said his his one regret kind of as captain of France is not being able to kind of get Mon face on side and work with face and how mom face when he when he took over as captain three years ago, which he wasn't expecting to do, but he did Tyco and kind of he thought among face was going to be as guy was going to his project and yet he's just by one match in three years. Because there were some differences about playing in Guadalupe and then on face did play there. And he said it was great. And he wanted to keep playing, and then there was some sort of bright down off to that. And they just never recovered that relationship with mom face. So you ended up in a situation where they were playing this final against Croatia. And you kind of wondering what could they have done differently? Well, if he does to players possibly it would have been different. But at the end of the day, you know, you look at the rankings should X number seven shorts. Number twelve. There's no nation in the world with two players ranked that high we've seen we've seen one singles plaque and often enough to win the Davis Cup in recent years. Think of Andy Murray was well supported and Delport turned twenty sixteen was famous one standout player fraction. Tina? So for Cratia to have to it was always going to be such a tough ask for France. But there are these question marks over whether Yannick Noah could have picked players differently over over his period. And also whether clay was the best surface. So there are these questions. But now, it was pretty adamant in impressed that I did all they could. And they were just beaten by the better team. What is not alone is a in on to maybe get the absolute best out of let's figure. Fouche and did his ten years Davis Cup, captain similar feelings about gamma fees and awful lot of fun. Nece him tons of owners. I think everyone likes the guy, but you know, real sort of frustration and dejection about not being able to find the figuring out, you know, find the key to unlock fees. You know, just to sort of you know, you will ski ski Foucher about gamma fac- get sort of phoned head scratch, kind of an expression which pretty much sums it up. Just as a final editorial thought on this funnel, ma'am. We haven't mentioned in this particular podcast because he wasn't required. Today is born a charge and good friend, Pat Cash who's one of our Kickstarter backers. Thank you, Pat. We love you. He says on Twitter to win away makes men from boys. All how's your first trip on our behalf thing? Really good. I mean, very tiring as I said, but a lot of fun. It's been. Yeah. It's been great to you know to experience the Davis Cup. My only my second ever Davis Cup Raba. I as you know covering it as a reporter, and yeah, it's been great matinees arrest. Davis. Rest we all need arrest. Even I have slightly hit the wall tonight. "The two players the The quarterback was. Either That this team and has made it that flyer happened with Muhammad Wilkerson before the contract was, a really good player. But that never materialized. Know, what, happened there obviously Sheldon I don't know yet. That Leonard Williams has. That, personality Adams nut can he do it for my safety positions The best case scenario But the made to step on the field at time knowing and believing they have the best player on the field in my mind that. Hasn't, happened so long no it was because it was, amazing in his prime and that's what we have. To remember this crime you put, them on anybody's. Gonna shut him down he was the true definition. Of a shutdown corner sometimes that phrase just thrown out and, just, as a shutdown no there were really. Well the shutdown corner I think the guy is Jamal Adams. With the, best shot I mean it, doesn't mean he's there but, I agree with you personality. Wise and talent wise he's probably. Got the best chance but if you, want to win. Championships it's best off if that guy gets your quarterback is if the guy's a quarterback you're gonna. Compete, every single year yes it's and and listen to the game. Change that tennis safety, we've seen, strong, well Chafee's mantle obviously plenty. Of company out there Scene safety you. Leaders we flew over, defense extent, you, know it's be interesting empowering Jumped in, Adam For last year Get in now that they have them and they've got to have him take that next step to the level of leader and playmaker. Evacuated Kim Jones when you look at the giants coming, into this year and I think. We all agree they're gonna win more. Than three, games in fact I think a hell of a lot more, than three games but they've tried to fix. This offensive line they spend a lot of money. On Nate shoulder they bring in will Hernandez. In the draft they bring back. Eli to you the biggest concern going into this season is what would this football team I. Think in my mind it's does the defense come together under James veterans He was a. Heck of a higher I'm Pat Shurmur highly respected around the league is Nasser Come. Together understanding the. Concepts understanding I do their job alone The concept players in terms of, learning can be make all of that, happened and, generate pass rush, because it's still has anything left Healthy which he has at the moment to, saquon healthy which is at the moment Shepardson from, offense proof depends to some You can't be a hot once and I sent it back asterisk of. Their best players on my such spent most of the. Vast majority of Washington Injured evan That line it wasn't, hole Case So the, offense I'm not in anyone's thing that's a given And. Has to be, a twenty five twenty eight point per game Sure Where does this stack? Up we know snakes that player on the outside PP, critic filled his contract going to trade him away for. Catholic so you get after the opposing quarterback, oppose it's. Well I think it can impose its. Well First quarter And I think that's part of why, Olivier Vernon maybe one of those most, important guys if you're making less a lot of guys that just need to. Be better I think that's obvious in the linebackers a, very different but Vernon missed a bunch. Of time last year I kinda if I'm picking a guy who, I, say hey I need, a big..
