Karine Jean-Pierre Celebrates the Slight Drop in Gas Prices

"We went out of here talking about the recession, the state of the economy. Do you know now 61, according to the experts, 61% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. 61%. Talk about fiddling while Rome burns. Yesterday, Jean Pierre bragging karine Jean Pierre bragging about how Joe Biden is now rescuing the economy. Now, you got to hear this. This is astounding. Gas prices are coming down a little bit. Not a lot. A little bit. Check this out. An update on where we are currently with gas prices. We have now been falling for almost 7 straight weeks. As of this morning, gas prices have dropped 81 cents per gallon since their peak and June, as you'll see from the chart to my left here. That means American families who, with two cars, are saving $80 a month, a drivers can now find gas for three 9 $9 or less around half of all gas stations across the country and average gasoline prices have come below 3.99 in 19 states. Plumes war is still putting pressure on global oil supply, but President Biden is taking historic action to mitigate its impacts it's the same shell game they did with the job they're doing with the jobs numbers. You shut the country down and millions and millions of people don't work and when they rejoin the workforce because the country is finally opened again, you take credit for the job growth.

"Getting it right? Saban Jimbo are you team Sabin? Are you team Jimbo? There's probably some truth lying in the middle somewhere 855-242-7285 plus. Don't forget, we're going to ask you your first concert when you call. And anytime the regular callers of ball call in, that means I'm doing something right. So we're going to talk to Jim and Tuscaloosa Jim. Thanks for calling the show, Jim. What was your first concert, brother? You're doing something right or not, man, because I got some for you. I hope you can go on the web and put on your safety belt, whatever you have to do because I got shot. Here's what I want to know, man. Did Paul give you a new car or two new cars to do what you're doing? Did he pay you very well to do this? Well, I mean, Paul didn't pay me ESPN takes good care of me. I'm thankful to have a great time. I thought Paul might personally have done this because he's smart enough to do this. What's going on? I'll tell you what, I feel you know what's going on. If you don't already know, but I just wanted to I know ESPN is not that smart. But here's the thing, man. After you've been out for the rest of this week, they'll be people sleeping out lining up around the studio Monday morning to welcome Paul back. Frankly, saying, please, Paul, get back in the studio and stop this craziness insanity. I mean, good night. I don't want to show you the worst host, but you are the worst I've ever heard. Oh, really? Thank you so much. You're talking about music. I mean, I lived a sheltered life. I've never been to concert. Could you give me some tickets? Yeah, I could get you some tickets, but not after your mean to me, Jim. Why would I get your tickets now? If you know anything about me on the show, I'm a straight shooter. I'm guarantee you. No, go ahead and go ahead. Well, I mean, I'm from Spain. I'm saying you're doing the biggest favorite to find on you could possibly do because they won't be able to people who can't stand up. Well, loving next week when he comes back. Wow. And that's what you're doing for the show. So I'm giving you a pulse. I'm giving you applause, man, but what you've done, or what you'd be doing this week. Well, you know what, Jim. The good shit that you know, you can check me out on Spain and Fitz two Monday through Friday. I mean, really? If you want, you can also check me out on any of the digital platforms. You know what I mean? That's all you're doing is giving your self centered musical life. I mean, let's face it. That's what you're doing. Oh, my self centered music. I'm asking everybody else. Listen, this is crazy what you're doing. You're a goofball. I'm sorry. It's just the truth. Because you can't say you're sorry unless you're actually sorry, Jim, I don't know what you're doing here. I'm sorry that you are this way. That's what I'm sorry about. You're sorry that I'm this way? Well, I will tell you what Michelle has gotten this bag where they had to get you in here. That's what I'm sorry about. Well, tell you what, why don't you go ahead and let me know where your show is and I'll come listen to it anytime you want. Okay. Calm down 5 shows in the last 12 years. I could do a show if I wanted to, but I don't want to it's too much work. Sure. Oh, it's too much. It is too much work doing a show. I wish you well. I'm down to you, Paul. If he doesn't pay you a big check, but what you're doing for him, something's wrong. I'm tell you something wrong. You seem like a nice guy in spite of your good news. You seem like an ice guy. Jim, I appreciate you call my friend. And you know what else? You'll get tons of cars calling in because I'm hated on this show. Well, look, I don't hate your brother. I'm just gonna tell you. I know. I know you. I appreciate you. I will always remind everybody that doesn't like my work. Number one, not everybody can be for everybody. So then it's up to you. You ought to be getting a big check at the end of this week. Well, I'll get you my address, Jim, you go ahead and send it to me because it sounds like you got me. I wouldn't be sending no kick, but I think sign about you. Okay, well, I appreciate your call. Thank you so much, Jim. It's an honor pleasure and privilege to talk to you. Just remember y'all. Important note here. I grew up a fat kid that played classical music. There's nothing that y'all can say that's worse to me than 6th grade girls said, so like, I'm good. Like, I can handle the feedback. Jim may not be for everybody. That's okay. We can't all be here for everybody. I'm Anne's on the line. Man, I'm getting all the Paul regular callers. Let's go. I'm in, what do you got? Thanks for calling the show. Good afternoon, good afternoon. I tell you that dudes couldn't snap two fingers if you had one. You know, you're talking about concerts. Now Montgomery used to have a great weather still have radio stations, but we used to start the radio station that owned a sister station in Birmingham and Jacksonville, Florida. And they back in the 50s and the 60s and 70s, they had to shower of stars or the big band shows or whatever. They'd bring 7 or 8 national acts and at once. And you know, they play 6, 7 songs in areas just pretty cool. I guess now I've been going concerts and little jam sessions in parking lots forever. But I guess the first national act would go back to that say like 68, 69, it would have been people like Paul Revere raiders, rash roots, crazy world of Arthur Brown, maybe some iron butterfly in there, Joe south, Tony Joe white. Different things and but yeah, now when I turned about 15, we started going to our picking our own shows and that's a lot of it. A lot of bands came in out of Montgomery. We didn't we didn't have the zeppelins in the hooves, but we totally had the. Other acts, the black oak Arkansas, blue of Chicago, you know, Jay Giles band. More Tucker. Lots of folks. Killer bands. And yeah, when I got a little older and started about 15, and I guess the first major show I ever traveled to would have been in bota Colorado, the row in stones, Kansas, Peter tasch in 89. That's amazing. We're giving off a whole era of concerts, by the way, that are just incredible, man. They're incredible. Oh, and nothing but talent and you're talking about the band Perry earlier. I tell you what, those kids, when I first heard them, I thought they were one of the more amazing new younger artists coming up that I had heard.

"I need your help. We have a new driver. We have a young man with a permit in the house. And a couple of weeks ago, you gave somebody else some great advice about keeping the car running for a number of miles and being nice to it. And I used that to get the new driver to stop a bad habit before I got too far. And so I wanted to call up and get some more good ideas. Yeah, sure. All right, like what? Well, we have two 5 speed cars. Yeah. So I think he's using the quest too much. And when we stop at a stoplight, he takes the car out of gear and puts it in neutral. He shouldn't. He should? Yes. Yeah. I should. Yeah, you should too. He probably learned that. They're going to live this down. And drivers in. Wait. Do I ever read they only hit automatics? Wait, do you have are these two new drivers, male female one? One new driver for two new cars. Please don't wish me. A one to male a female driver. He. It's a he. So we got a 17 year old he. And we got a mother who's 15 years older than that. Okay. And you've got two 5 speed Japanese cars. Yes? Yeah. Yeah. So anyway. Yeah. Takes his foot off, puts his foot in the clutch and takes it out of gear when he's at a traffic light. And what would you do in the air traffic light? Leave it in first with your foot on the clutch? Yeah. That's not good, because when you're doing it, yeah. I keep listening to you. And I thought you said to not use a question. Well, this is a complicated issue because evidently, every time we say something, someone hears it and takes it out of context, or doesn't hear the whole thing. For example, a couple of weeks ago, someone called and asked us if they ought to put. If he ought to put the car into neutral, when he came to a stoplight and he had an automatic transmission. Our answer to him was no, leave it in drive. So if it's an automatic transmission, you'll leave it in drive. If it, however, is a manual transmission as you have it. As you have in these two cars, you should put it in neutral because sitting there with your foot on the clutch isn't good for the clutch. Well, it isn't bad for the clutch per se. It's bad for the clutch release bearing. Right, a piece of the clutch is being worn out when you have your foot on the clutch. The only time the clutch is not being worn out is when your foot is off of it. Okay. So whether you're moving or stopped, what's your son's name? We want to give a round of applause to mull for beating out his mother. Yeah, get away ball. You.

"In charge of the operating budgets. And obviously, at that time, a lot happening with car of the future. And looking for looking through to the future of where super car is going in the next 5 years and beyond. So you're across every aspect to the marketing, the sales. With a full focus on the budget and the returns to the teams. And of course, looking at what the fans want and trying to deliver that to the fans and events and also through the media and MTV. So there's a lot of there's a lot of departments to cover and we've got now over 50 full time staff. So. It's a machine now. It really is. And there's a lot of opportunities there and really to look we've done so many things so well over the years. And V8 supercar at the moment I think has gone it's strongest group of managers in there. We've got as a series we're operating very well. But there's a lot of new opportunities there. So running the ship, but also trying to look for the new opportunities. Some of the events that Shane Howard was responsible for was the tamps full straight rice and the Sydney Olympic park circuit. In year three, we got his thoughts of the Sydney 500. I can imagine where here at Sydney talking and once again, the Friday crowd I haven't heard a figure, but it seems very healthy on the back of the first two years. Yes, no, I haven't done have the official numbers in front of me, but there was a really good crowd there today. I think we had something like 5000 kids here today, which is just absolutely fantastic for the community and here in western Sydney and it was just everyone having a lot of fun. No problems. It's been very smooth. Hardly hardly any calls over the radio, you know, you've got to quality event on your hands when the radios aren't going Berserk. So we're very happy today with today's attendance. We're pretty lucky with the weather. The car shows and just you look at the different elements of this event to have like a thousand of some of the best cars that you'll ever see on display, we've got the toaster ride to tamworth. We had 7 sports teams activating here with kids to get in interactive. We've got Disney. We've got Dan spans tonight with bliss and SO headlining tonight. And then, of course, tomorrow night, the big one with James rain noise works. John farnham and then hunters and collectors applying. So I mean, that's just an unbelievable lineup of entertainment that's over and above included in your prize of what is just one of the greatest motor sport products that you've ever seen. One thing that's fascinated me about this race meeting and I set it to you two years ago now, but it was highlighted and you mentioned it yourself. It was highlighted to me today when I walked in. Two years ago you said to me, greater western Sydney jumped at the chance of being in the family zone and only the roosters turned up from any other code that you invited. Today I walked through graduate, the wallabies and the AIU is there. Rugby league, the swift snip bowl, they've all worked out what this event can do with them and that partnership can do. Yes. I mean, this is a very large scale of N, any country in the world would like to have this in their backyard. It's generating fantastic economic benefit. Last year it had in excess of 17,000 interstate visitors coming here in 2000 internationals. I mean, these are big numbers. And it is just world class world's best practice. And just a great place. No trouble. It's just a fantastic experience. You couple that with last year's rise, which is seriously just talking to you now, I just goosebumps on my arms. It was one of the most exciting races you would ever see in your life. And I was listening to the commentary this morning when Mark gave and Neil crompton went out in those in the two new car of the future cars and gave them a bit of a test around here, and our communicating across the right is a new course neo hadn't been run on this circuit. And it was describing the car, how good the car was. And then he just says, this is going to be one of the greatest race circuits I've been building on, so it's just absolutely brilliant. And it is. It's got so much character. It's bumpy, there's off cambers. And the one thing I can guarantee with this, there will be drama. International racing is back on the supercars agenda. And we spoke to Shane Howard ten years ago now about New Zealand Hamilton falling over and supercars having to step in there. And what their plans were with the international model moving forward. It's not our plan to be promoters overseas. The tyranny of distance makes it very, very difficult. We stepped in as the promoter for the New Zealand when the private promoted there with partnership between Calvin and Steve Valletta had financial difficulties and couldn't continue with that with their agreement with the Hamilton city council. And given that the Hamilton city council would really come out and supported that event and invested in the event. We saw it as we're not fair weather Friends. Even though it wasn't our responsibility, we were there as the act think and the Ascension agreement to go there. We made a decision that to support the fan base. We got a very loyal fan base over there, support the Hamilton city council that we would invest in that event as the promoter. Very difficult to do. The remotely from Australia, we do have a team over there, but it's still difficult. That said it was a fantastic well round of 8. Unfortunately, the New Zealand economies very, very tough times over there. I believe it is improving and it's fantastic to see John case reelected in that country. I think he's a quality prime minister. And I think that country will progress and move forward. We would certainly our intent to always support the fan base over there. But at this point, in time, we don't have a secured option. How much of your how much of Martin's time has been trying to secure that New Zealand option? Because he is working very hard on so many options. Martin really hasn't been working on the New Zealand option. He's really been focused on in other areas and he's spending enormous amount of time out of the country. We have a large degree of interest from a number of countries. A very exciting times now with the option now with our ability under the new FIA sanction to be able to increase our international races by 6. So he's working very hard on that. That is a full-time full-time gig at the moment. So we haven't seen much of Martin.

"What's the problem? The problem is, I'd like to keep it, and she thinks that we should be practical and treat it in on something else. Testing with a backseat. Oh, yeah, that is. Yeah. How many in the family currently? Four. Four. We have two cars. Full. So I figured that I can drive my car. You can drive first, and then we need to go someplace with the kids. We take her car. What's her car? 82 Chevy caprice. Oh gee, you know, your face with the unenviable task of having to buy two new cars pretty soon. That's true. Yeah. This is a bad position to be in. You don't have to buy one at a time. This is a classic problem. You didn't and Tammy don't have this problem in a vacuum, you know? I mean, this is a problem that happens everywhere. Because men don't seem to understand that there is a 50 50 distribution of work and of responsibility. I mean, there are studies done all the time. And when they say, well, how much of the cooking do you do? Well, the husband is like, I cooked once in 1971. And now you're saying you will drive your car. Tammy will drive her car, and if you have to go any place that requires more than two will drive our current Tammy's car. And if the kids have to go someplace, we'll take Tammy's car. So all the lousy stuff gets to be Tammy. No, no, when they use it as a family, it's our car. And then it's our car, right, right? One solution is we should have three cars. That's what he wants to do. And I said, you're not. Well, he may be nuts, but it is a solution. True. Yeah. Now, Tammy, if you.

"Kong. I'm Kathleen Hays. And I'm Brian Curtis. Trading is underway in key markets around the region, such as Tokyo, Sydney and soul. We still have an hour to go before we get to the markets in Hong Kong and Shanghai. The futures there are up and the cash markets elsewhere are up. But sometimes it all changes once the cash markets open in Hong Kong and China, so we'll get a close. Look at that. What to expect with Doug Christner coming up in a few short moments, But for now, Kathleen and I will take a look at some of the top stories of the hour and Brian is, you know, markets are still digesting this story. China Making an unprecedented intervention in the global oil market, it's releasing crude from a strategic reserve for the first time ever. The aim to lower prices. Here's Bloomberg Steven Angle. Obviously, like many central banks, authorities in China very concerned by inflation and what we saw with the factory gate inflation pp in China in August, up to a 13 year high of 9.5%, there is growing inflation in China. China has been selling other commodities from its strategic reserves as well, including copper, aluminum and grains. In the past, Beijing really confirmed this kind of release the public release on crude is being seen by many as an attempt to maximize the impact of the move. We had another Chinese vice premier encouraging foreign investment in technology in China, Chinese Vice Premier Hu Jin ha reaffirmed the importance of foreign investment. We're also told the Chinese electric car maker neo may have to delay its planned Hong Kong listing. Let's get that story from Bloomberg's Rosalind Chen. Neo is already traded in the U. S. And in March, the company filed for a second listing in Hong Kong. But now sources tell us the offering isn't likely to debut before early next year. We're told new has received queries from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange about aspects of the listing structure. And the delay prompted neo to announce the sale of up to $2 billion of U. S listed shares were told. Deliberations over in Hong Kong listing are ongoing and neo could still decide not to proceed. Neo targets the premium end of China's E B market. The company is preparing to launch two new cars in 2022, as well as the already flagged 87 sedan. And to expand in the Chinese mass market. Neo will need more capital in Hong Kong and Rosalynn Chin Bloomberg Daybreak Asia. It looks like Ford Motor has had a very tough time trying to really break into the market in India, so it's just going to stop making cars there. The carmaker says Local assembly will stop immediately with two of its plans closing, it said about 4000 employees will be affected. Ford's moves come months after it dropped a plan to see most of its Indian operations to the local sport utility vehicle maker Mahindra and Mahindra for India has racked up more than $2 billion in losses during the past decade. It also wrote down the value its business by about $800 million in 2019. Ford said it will spread restructuring charges over several years. Booking 600 million this year 1.2 billion in 2022 the rest in subsequent years. Well, interesting. We had the billionaire investor Masayoshi Son favoring Indian companies over Chinese rivals Softbank investing four times more in India than China this year, so An interesting twist. All right, let's get over to Doug Christner. He's looking at markets in the Asia Pacific. Hey, we're turning mixed right now, With the cost Be down about 1/10 of 1% financials here leading the decline. We're also seeing a little bit of weakness among consumer discretionary shares in the soul session. On the other hand, if you look at what's happening in the Nikkei were positive by nearly a half of 1% financials and consumer discretionary names leading to the upside in Japan, Meantime, in Sydney, we've got the ASX 200 ahead by about a half of 1% consumer, discretionary and utility shares. I think there's a little bit of defensiveness in what we're seeing in some of the price action in Asia. We were talking earlier about the Delta variant. How the persistent to spread of this virus has basically created a little bit of a cloud over the outlook. And now a lot of questions about the timing of central bank tapering the is going to slow its pace of bond buying in Q four, although Christine Lagarde was very careful in avoiding the term, tapering And Raphael Bostic from the Atlanta Fed bank here in the states was talking about the possibility of asset are taping a tapering of asset buying happening sometime this year. That said. If you look at what's happening in the bond market, very little movement in yield terms of 10 year treasury at 1.30%. We're seeing continued weakness in crude oil. We were down about 1.7% in New York trading on word that China will for the first time release crude from those strategic reserves the state reserves. Obviously the goal is to alleviate some of the price pressure. Stephen was talking about. That the big print that we had in producer prices, the factory gate inflation reading and China yesterday, so we're at a 13 year high. That's pretty amazing. W T right now. 67 95 in the electronic session, Kathleen All right, Doug. Thank you so very much. Now we want to take another look at Global news. And for that we're.

Mitch McConnell Slams Biden's Afghanistan 'Disaster': 'These Guys Couldn't Organize a Two-Car Funeral'

"Senator mitch. Mcconnell called this one of the greatest foreign policy disasters in american history now have been multiple explosions suicide bombing attack on the afghan airport. Multiple soldiers injured here. In fact was mitch. Mcconnell the other day accurately assessing the state of affairs in afghanistan. Just as one of the greatest foreign policy disasters in american history. I think it's important to remember where we're much ago before the president's reckless decision to leave we only had twenty five hundred troops there. We have lots of single american personnel military personnel in a year the taliban barbarians or not in charge of the country. We're we're keeping the lid on and al qaeda was not there so the decision to pull out was gargantuan mistake in my opinion having made that decision You'd have to conclude. These guys gotten organized. A two car funeral. i mean. here's where we are. The president needs to forget about the august thirty first deadline. We need to send in enough american personnel military personnel to rescue our people and by the way they're more american soldiers there now than before. The president made the decision to leave.

Now they're pivoting to trying to say well the it's still a big airlift. We're getting a lot of people out of their senator mitch. Wow it's it's unbelievable. Kaley mcenaney pointed something out to jesse waters a theme. That i keep coming back to. We wouldn't be seeing this under the trump administration. We're eight months into a biden president. Jesse wrap your head around that we still have three years and four months left look when president trump was president. You didn't see crisis after crisis. You just didn't see it. I shudder to think about what it would have been. Like under joe biden. We've seen afghanistan blow up crime ministries. You named it all. What would have been like. Because i was in the white house when it was pretty scary times. We weren't sure if we'd have enough ventilators but we were able to produce it with the private sector. I watched president trump overseeing vaccine in record time produce. Four working therapeutics. Do you think joe biden could have done any of that. The answer is absolutely not. "Other than devon booker. Chris gonna turn it around game. They're going to show you what the what the guy hope. So do they look like shit. They looked terrible. But so did the refs all right so because we didn't episode not to long this is going to be a somewhat light episode overall. The first thing i wanted to talk about. Is this little ninja. Update that. I don't know if you've seen this. That came into the game two days ago where it talked about fixing some things and adding lag compensation so jeff hill. Who's from valve actually posts in this reddit thread. So i think we're going to do is just literally read what he said and then discuss it because it is interesting. So he says the two new cars are for a lag compensation feature were testing doda underscore lag underscore compensation underscore window is a convert on the server to allow for orders to be sent from the client and the past to be executed with this with a fast forwarding of hero on the server to catch up. It's intended to make lasts hitting have timing. That's consistent regardless of your pink to the server up to a limit the thinking here is that right now if you right. Click is drought a creep. Here's what happens with one hundred milliseconds of latency right. Click than the client sends the order to the server with one hundred millisecond pass server gets order draw begins to shoot ariza peer around four hundred milliseconds later. Total time click to aero appearing ends up being five hundred milliseconds. This feels a lot different than if you play in a hero demo locally with zero ping if you right click there. Essentially it goes down to four hundred milliseconds if you do that. So the conversation about does is you right. Click and does all that stuff again. But the client sends order the server with a hundred milliseconds service. The order drop against to shoot and up to one hundred milliseconds of pre shooting animation wind up and then the total time click to aero appearing is four hundred milliseconds just like in local. So they've essentially artificially taken out a hundred of those milliseconds via this feature. Which right have you felt the difference. Because i know a lotta pros have complained so guys remember you know. This neutral item What is it called the tier to the attack speed one. Where am i know what. I don't know it's it's the one shit if something's on cooldown you get double. Quicksilver amulet thank you. Oh that's too sorry. So quicksilver ambulante has the same kind of effect where on certain here especially like raith king from me is the most notable where you're right clicking and you actually end up doing the damage before the animation finishes so a lot of pros are complaining that that's it feels like every hero has quicksilver amulet and also affects the turn rates. I think right theoretically should affect everything by one hundred milliseconds. Yeah literally everything cooked so have you noticed it. Because i have not noticed the different. No yeah. I don't know if so the way you are primarily notice. This right is if you were playing in service with people with hyping if people have fifty milliseconds ping you're less likely to notice if twenty just.

"Priced hosting space in check compass out at compass mining dot. I o. and now onto the show. Thanks for coming on the show today appreciate you having. You're excited chat with you. For leonard being here as well looking forward to talking about this so i wanna start off kind of with a little. Bit of an open ended question. Can you give us sort of a ten thousand foot view of wear. The mining hardware market is right now compared to maybe where it was like two years ago when or year and a half ago i guess when this This bull run got started net. Definitely it's been allowed ride ever since the having so right after. The having the brand new miners all came from different manufacturers. This includes the estimate and the micro btm thirty series and in the beginning there these machines regard for. Let's say twenty five dollars per hash at basically you could get them very quickly. Everybody basically had asked them if they just reach out through the patron But as soon as the bull run started to kick in just a little bit in december we started to see everybody scrambling again hardware and future or selling out within days and we also started see announcements from public companies buying a tons and tons and tons of utah this overall just limited the amount of available hardware you the rest of the people after the institution about what we looked at marathon by over one hundred thousand units per delivery oliver. Twenty twenty one looked at Riot by over forty thousand units delivered over a similar time period after that. There really isn't much left over for like retail and other clients does. Yeah things like just looking back to rices of machines year and a half ago Kind of makes you wonder if like buying actual bitcoin were just buying a successful would have been a better investment hindsight there like right now i guess for the past year and a half ever since having the bull run got started at this current one. I guess We've heard talks about like this shortage where it's it's hard to find six or hard to find them at as cheap or as a large scale of order is some miners. Might want 'em but at the same time you have like. I mean you have us with pretty liquid supply basics in plenty of other large-scale mining operations. That definitely have access to a pretty large supply basic. So in you like like. Is this a shortage real or can you quantify a little bit like some of the nuance of how how the shortage is not like real right now on the market yeah sure so basically Six shortage is something that is very real so basically there is a. There is a shortage of chips apply worldwide and so this is directly with the foundries right Currency in its whole as a very small part of the market even though it basically consumes our lives today if you think about in the grand scheme of things compared to like cheap use phones ours in various other electronics the crypto currency mining community takes up approximately one percent of the total allocation of of Waivers chips from the foundries and so in the grand scheme of things were were were tiny and so that's why we never get priority especially if there's like a new iphone beautiful eastern new samsung of being released so with the chip supply shortage. Were like everybody's gonna be happy. Problems receiving allegations and also making sure that there have been quality especially for the generation minors since bit man and microbial started moving towards like seven nanometer. Eight nanometer chips. It it leaves a lot or margin of error so how compass basically gets Tapped into three three areas. That kind of assist us so that we don't feel the supply shah of as it were tapped into the secondary markets. Were tapped into uh seeking draft badgers and were also To large mining farms and what a lot of people don't really understand is a lot of these large mining farms have old existing equipment on the shelves while an also ditch orders with the manufatures right and so we work in tandem with them where we can purchase some of their future stuff that they like discard off a little bit of their future. Orders down also can sell the machines right off the shelf right and by doing enabled to alleviate A lot of the supply stress that are other editors have gotcha. That makes sense. I'm i'm curious like or even ask that. I should preface that. This might be a little bit of a bizarre question but like the chip shortage like you mentioned having serious effects on other like much larger markets than like bitcoin mining as manufacturing i'm like vehicle manufacturing for example and there's sort of this dynamic where used cars are just like insanely expensive and much higher demand now like relative to two new cars. Do sort do you ever like Could we ever see a similar dynamic in like basic market where like us asects just like our demand for them as sort of so much higher than an actual like new new generation essex or maybe just like a weird phenomenon unique to the market right now based on the shortage. No you're gonna see various somewhere Kind of marketplace's one because used a six lot cheaper than than new-generation while remaining extremely profitable Out and so a lot of people will forgo the new brand new like ferrari kind of s. nineteen zero and really look at 'em twenty s as even if you're at like seven or eight cents right now you could be profitable with on and you could buy two or three for the same cost of one brand new s in pro and so a lot of people especially in low power cost regions are scouring everywhere to try to get used as six and on top of that something that we've found really great successes if you purchase a used aces. That's already on site. And you have a quick turnaround time. The advantage of getting your minor online sooner versus waiting couple months getting a lower price and taking advantage of the difficulty drop it is something that real people really really like and especially with all the news From china right now. I think we're going to enter really like a golden era for basic. Why our bitcoin specifically because we've increased our price by so much and then the difficulty dropped basically to levels that we haven't seen since january and i think that not only is a supply being in short supply right now. The infrastructure side is also lagging behind. Nobody was expecting this massive bull run and so everybody was have slowly building their infrastructure as needed. Nobody bills out an extra hundred megawatts before they actually have the demand for right now now. Every is catching up. So we're gonna have a period of extremely high profitability for the next.

china seven twenty five dollars december january two two years ago eight cents three six today two new cars over one hundred thousand unit year and a half ago ten thousand foot over forty thousand units samsung iphone hundred megawatts past year and a half

How Software Is Eating the Car

"I saw an article on the i tripoli spectrum which is their magazine by robert charette how software is eating the car the trend toward self driving an electric vehicles ed hundreds of millions of lines of code two cars can the auto industry cope. Just put it in perspective. Hundreds of millions of lines of code. That's how many lines of code there are in windows. it's that it's on. that level of sophistication. I'm sure i've been talking about this all along. But it's kind of stunning and it's relevant right now because it according to analysts. The chip shortage global chip shortage is being felt everywhere but it's especially being felt in kars four point one million autos won't be made this year because they can't get the chips that's a lot. Ten years ago only only fancy cars had microprocessor control units. Today fancy fancy. Cars like the bmw. Seven series may contain one hundred fifty electronic control units pickup trucks like the ford f. One fifty one hundred fifty million lines of code as of twenty seventeen. Some forty percent of the cost of a new car can be attributed to semi conductors. The cost is doubled in ten years and they think by By the end of this decade. It'll be fifty percent. Each new car today has about six hundred dollars semi conductors. Three thousand chips in it. So it's no surprise. I mean your steering is controlled by a chip. The the doors windows the mirrors the seats the climate control of course the anti-theft system the kilos entry system even the steering column as a computer on.

The App That Sparked a Manhunt

"Hey amy how you doing. I'm good how are you. I'm good Thanks for taking a minute to last year i was renting a room in chicago. Ask you a landlord whose voice you just heard was amy. The apartment we lived in was on this beautiful tree lined street just so peaceful and calm and quiet full of beautiful trees and families than you can sleep with the windows open. It's a very beautiful community. But since i arrived there amy's attitude towards this has changed a little bit because of an app. She had called. Citizen fed her every detail of what was going wrong in the neighborhood. It turned out like one block from my front door. People are being robbed. People are being attacked. Women are being assaulted. And there are places. I would walk to that. I just stopped walking to like walking to the lake. Alone would never do that now. Started parking closer to work really. If i need a friend for dinner in the neighborhood kind of scared about walking home. It's changed things. A lot used to just walk around care. Free not scared or worried. But as soon as i started looking at that out i was scared to death. Citizen combines reports from police scanners with user submissions to create an interactive map of all the shifty. Things happening around you all the time. It's a map. And there's little signs on the map and you click on it and it tells you what's happening a fire or people at the armitage brown line with guns or whatever it might be it'll tell you everything that's gone on for. The last couple of days really changed the way. She thought about her neighborhood. That the end. When i was on it i mean there were a lot of carjackings going on so i was even nervous in my car. I would purposefully not drive close to the current front of me so that i could always get around it because people were getting kinda back in between two cars and then getting carjacked. It just made me really nervous.

This was right before i graduated college. I was going out with a couple of buddies of mine. And we just got back from penn stack and we are just driving down seventy five north just rocking out to music having fun windows down on all four sides and all of a sudden comes this random person it looked like they are driving a corvette day. Start tailgating me and my friend. We were literally the only ones out on the road. We're like the hey. Let's go mess with them. And i'm like heck. Yeah we're going. We're going to teach him a lesson. And of course i don't play nice when it comes to tailgaters. I really i really don't. I'm like the enforcer on the road. Because i teach them you know. Hey the closer you get the slower. I'm going to go. But i don't harm anyone. Of course. I just do that to tell them. Hey don't do this so anyway. We're like yeah. Let's let's mess with them for a bit. See what happens. Speed limits to seventy five on a highway. The guys tailgating me and my friend. The two other lanes are open. No excuse me. Three lanes were the only two cars on the highway. This point everywhere. Everyone else's six sixteen hundred feet back like way back there at this point. The car behind Switches lanes and we do the same thing we switch over to the right lane and he's tailgating us both keep switching lanes until we both go off the exit ramp. We go off the exit ramp and their tailgating and slowing down and we return to get off other road. We come face to face with the driver and it's not a guy but it's a woman so me and my friend at this point. Had the windows up in the music turned down to medium. We both realized we were just making a woman very upset and she was like in her

Any there at the end was nuts and they watered down the race trag ascertains. It's dirt racing man. You just don't know what you're going to have next and you're you're forced to figure something out quickly so tj spotted a good job at. Tell me where danny was. And i tried moving up but you know it takes such a different driving style to make that work. It's joey's twenty-seventh career cup series win if you can believe it. "At your Beck and call till 8 P.m. second hour of the show Got some good food stories, some covert stories. Debra's come up with a plethora of fun and entertaining stuff this so far, so it's January 21st 2021. And I've already got my favorite story of the year. I know it's early and this could be this could be surpassed quickly, but so far so good. Joining us from the Atlanta Journal Constitution Shoddy abou Side with a story that made me laugh made me cry. I don't want to preface it. Tell us what exactly you wrote about today on a J C, calm Hey. Good evening. Um, well, we got a news release today from the Gwinnett County Police Department. They said they'd arrested a 19 year old program ploy for stealing nearly for allegedly stealing nearly a million dollars in just over a two week period nearly of millet a cry so I want this to soak into the people driving home right now. Ah, Kroger employees 19 years old, he said. Yes, sir. Uh, 19 years old accused of stealing more than $980,000 over just to eat over a two week period that I saw that story. I was like, what in the world, So I'm asking you. What in the world what it how How do you even steal a million dollars in two weeks from Kroger? We're kind of wondering that ourselves, according to the cops he created returns for 40 created over 40 returns for non existent items on late December early January. Apparently, those returns ranged in price from between $75 to more than 87,000. So basically, he, I guess And and any retail outlet you can offer or put credit on a credit card like of Longoria returns is his bunny slippers because they didn't fit. Hey, gets a credit on his credit card. That's basically what they think he did was just Making up returns on these on these credit cards. Correct? The cop said. He worked in the fuel center, and then he put this money back on. I guess several of his personal credit cards so the fuel sounds like what do you spend in like? One of those charges was $87,000 like, what could you buy a Kroger for $87,000? That's a lot of rotisserie chickens. That's right. So how did he get busted and what's going now with legal wise with him? Well, he was arrested last week, and he actually bonded out the same day he was charged with one count account of death by taking Um, Apparently, the police said he was able to get away with this because the manager in charge of overseeing fraudulent transactions was out of town for that two week period. She was on vacation. Wow. So no one was minding the kitchen. So the chef went toe went to work. What? What did that? Do? We know what Trey Brown is the 19 Year Olds name. By the way. Do we know what trade use that money on that He stole from Kroger. We know he bought Well, According to police, he bought new shoes, new clothes about several guns, and he actually bought two new cars for himself. Goodness gracious, That's allegedly thank you through. Let it we're talking to Ah, shoddy Abu Sayyed from the Atlanta Journal Constitution with which means you've gotta admit, this is a pretty crazy story, right? I mean, you're Yeah, I was pretty. It was pretty bizarre when we saw her eyes kind of both shot because we get these stories all the time. But, you know for somebody so young Seo be accused of taking so much in such a short period of time. That was that was strange to us. Have you heard from Kroger? About what went down? We reached out. They kind of declined to comment. They think the Gwinnett police were working with him on the investigation, but the kind to comment on it something that's interesting. I guess one of those cars this kid's accused of buying with the Chevy Camaro. The police said He actually bought it and totaled it before he was arrested. Oh, my goodness. Gracious s so So part of me is like, you know, we always tell kids to go get a job like this kid got a job. I admire the hustle. But that's just that's just done Criminality right? He could have come out of college and pretty resourceful, resourceful but but greedy like I'm thinking about Superman three where you know, Richard, But I don't know if you're old enough to remember Super Man. Three shoddy, but Richard Pryor did a computer program that would take every half penny. Off of player employees checks and it was slowly you know, he would slowly build up wealth. Well, you don't like the long game. This guy was not interested in a long and stealing like 50 bucks a week. Almost a million dollars in two weeks. I got office space. We have the decimal in the wrong starts After one day, like $300,000, Michael Michael Bolton screwed up and it's this guy pulled a Michael Bolton. He screwed up. Are we going to hear from him? He's gonna be in court, shouting. What's the latest? We're not sure we're hoping to track him down and ask, you know kinda. What was going through his mind on what? What? What The long term goal was here. I want to know that too. If you get his contact info, you got my email Now I want this guy on my show. I'm not going back. I'll get him on the phone. I'm not condoning what he did, but I wanna I wanna pick his brain and maybe offer him some criminal advice Going forward, You know, like, Yeah. Alright, Shoddy. Tell the folks are you on social Media? Where? Where can they find your work? Oh, yeah, I'm on a J. C. Calm and in the Atlanta Journal Constitution and how long you been there, shouting? About two years now. Nice..
