I've got late in the game in the fourth quarter. Your offense has done nothing all day. You're getting more and more desperate. You're trying to make a play. Josh Rosen, hey, remember that guy? Josh Rosen. He's still the NFL. He was one for 6 passing. He also had an interception. It was a completely dominating win by the Dallas Cowboys. Turnovers Doom Saints in 30-20 NFC Divisional Playoffs Loss to Bucs
"Bill. I just want to dive into it here. Because there's a lot to get to after watching the bucks. Beat the saints. Thirty to twenty so new orleans had been in tampa bay twice this season in week. One about four hundred years ago and then again in november. So what was the difference in this game vs those other two. I really simple pablo the saints. Just didn't protect the football. In the two regular season games between these teams the saints won the turnover battle. Both times there are plus three in the week one victory and then one up in the rematch. Tom brady threw five picks across those two games. Only seven in his other fourteen games. That really felt like the saints had his number and they were gonna have to flip that to win in new orleans. Well they flipped. It didn't turn the ball over the saints coughed up. Four times including three interceptions drew brees. The bucks turned the first few takeaways and two touchdowns and use the fourth to wrap up the game and kneel down. It's virtually impossible to win a playoff game. That sort of margin the saints will just sloppy in this game. Mean breeze could have thrown four or five picks. He threw an awful interception under pressure for the first one and on the same page with alvin kamara on a scene route for the second interception. The third bounced off jared cook. Who also fumbled away a completion on a drive where the saints were looking at. Go up to scores. They lost the ball and proceeded to give up seventeen unanswered points to end their season. So clearly the bucks had a formula of sorts for stopping breeze in it seemed like every aspect of this game. But it's not just that they stopped him instead. They made him look straight up terrible really often and i'm wondering how did they do that to that degree. Well i really think that todd bowles bucks defense. Look the tape from last week's game against the bears look how drew brees was playing. Look at how pal those receivers were moving and just didn't think there was anybody in that lineup who could reliably win against man coverage or beat them down field with their speed. This was especially true. After the saints lost deonte harris who had two long punt returns early in this game to a neck injury the saints did get a long touchdown but it was not with brees on the field. It was the lone snap for one jameis winston who came in and use the same trick. Play the bears ran against them last week. For a long touchdown coming across his sanders they handed to them. First play seven nothing like oh what a crazy way to start the game and then it got worse and worse and worse than a two interceptions and a three-and-out and the Steelers had three turnovers just in the first quarter by the end of the game. The Steelers had five total turnovers Big Ben had yeah. He had five hundred yards passing. He had four touchdown passes. Oh, yeah, by the way, Big Ben also had four interceptions. Oh, that's not good. That's very very bad off and I just the Steelers played terrible. They didn't show up. They looked disorganized. They did not look on the same page. There was a play where Eric Ebron probably should have stopped in the window Big Ben thought he was dead. Eric Ebron kept going it's a guy open who ran the wrong route and miscommunicated with the quarterback. It was not good. It wasn't pretty and it's just it's insane to me how far the Steelers have fallen from where they once were dead at one point during this season. I made a video I talked about how I believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers were a playoff team. They were running the ball very well playing good defense. They had receivers making plays left and right. Do you have to Johnson Chase Claypool Juju Smith Schuster, the guy had good running backs, like everything was running a very very smoothly for Pittsburgh early on this year. And in the second half of the year, they fell apart. They couldn't run the ball effectively. They their playmaking receiver suddenly stopped making plays dropped passes like crazy Eric Ebron, Jack Johnson was a massive culprit. It just got worse and worse and worse and Chase Claypool emerged as a really good player, but it's like man, it was so disappointing to watch this really capable football team would fall apart and I just not to mention they had injuries on defense and made things even worse. They're they're probably the strength of their team their defense really got Kimpton fell apart as injuries piled up and the brown sorry the Steelers completely fell apart the Steelers just one point where a team I was very impressed with playing they were playing great football. I mean you can say well there were always signs. They weren't going very good. They're always overrated say what you want. They were playing fantastic football early on in the year and it just fell apart man. You've seen these last two weeks. How worried should pittsburgh actually big. There's reasons for legitimate concern here. I mean the defense will the problem at the end of the day they all. So i'm not stressed about the defense on the whole he's had some injuries that's going to be a legitimate concern but this is still a very good defense and they are prohibitive favorites still to win the afc north. But i think even before the last two games last two losses there were concerns about this offense. The steelers came into this game ranked thirtieth in rushing offense. Dvr a football outsiders efficiency statistic but roethlisberger was twenty ninth in the league in completion percentage on de passing becoming very erratic deep passer and the stairs basically happened left with an offense but almost exclusively consists of short passes trying to the ball. Out of rothlisberger hands quickly. That's help keep him healthy. Which is great but that offense has one explosive game. Since the start in november and sunday night was not the second we saw the offense struggle in the exact same ways even though they got james conner. They're starting running back back in the lineup. They lost multiple starting offensive linemen to run the seventeen times for forty seven yards. And we're at. The speaker tried to throw deep. He was one of five for nineteen yards with a touchdown and pick now. It's possible the steelers are tired after basically going fourteen weeks without a real by they've had their to buy weeks of course basically taken away due to covert concerns. I'm not sure whether they're up to the challenge and it feels like it is only clear that the measuring stick against which all contenders are evaluated has to be kansas city and the chiefs spill. The raiders held the ball for nearly eleven minutes longer and kansas city knows that they can hit the home runs. That are widely available. If they keep mahomes operate i think. The raiders passing defenses. You mention it may trending in the right direction. There's no doubt a lot of optimism out here around the raiders especially on the defensive side of the ball. This is a different beast that they're going to try and counter and with sammy watkins back amongst others. I just don't know where the raiders consistently find a way to get off the field. I agree with that. And i get it. You have to young corners in trayvon mullin in our net and people are thinking to themselves like. Hey we're trending in the right direction. We're starting to get some pressure. Would you look you play at the browns. The total is suppressed because of weather and wind. You're at the chargers. It's likely a a lost game. If two guys can hold onto football on the back corner fate and then the broncos last week and drew lock was clearly injured after taking a hit in the second quarter but you could have been trailing at halftime in that game so listen. I think the raiders are better than we all expected. You look at who they've lost to. It's it's the bills box and patriots. All pretty good teams obviously bucks in bills being very good patriots. Super Bowl XXXIX Recap: Patriots vs. Eagles
"The game we most fans remember. Andy Reid foremost is super bowl. Thirty nine and especially how the game finished up in the last six minutes. But let's set things up here just a little bit coming into Super Bowl all thirty nine. Both the Patriots and Eagles were the best teams in their conference. Both number one seeds both had tremendous seasons. The Patriots went fourteen and two that season season as they were looking for their third super bowl title in four years. Obviously Tom Brady was just beginning his run as the greatest quarterback of all time but he'd already established himself as a two time superbowl champion. And so the odds were stacked against the eagles a little bit in the Super Bowl although the eagles were far and away the best team team in the NFC that season having gone thirteen and three really they were essentially a one loss team. They lost to the Pittsburgh steelers in the middle of the season but they had clinched the number for one seat in the conference with two games left in the season and basically didn't play anybody in the final two games and that's why they went thirteen and three. The Eagles probably could have been a fifteen in one team if they'd actually played their starters in the final two games of the season but thirteen and three is nothing to sneeze at and it was certainly good enough to get them the number one seed in the playoffs The Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings rather handily in the NFC divisional round and then in the NFC championship game. As you heard me talk about on the last edition of BG and memories when we took a look back at the ten greatest moments in Eagles NFC championship game.
