Cyber Monday deals abound

"The clark deals crew has been working literally around the clock for a much longer period than historically. The clark deals team would work with most of the effort prior years being black friday week through cyber monday but this year not like prior years. The sales spread out the entire month of november bleeding into all the way into this. Friday is cyber monday for most retailers has become cyber week and it can be overwhelming. It's obviously overwhelming for our deals. Team can be overwhelming for you as a consumer with every E mail message. You get or text you might get from retailer you've done business with in the past or do currently screaming. How great their deals are so it really requires action not reaction on your part to plan out number one that you don't overspend and number two that you are getting real deals not non deals and so i know that if you are among the more than one third people somewhere roughly a little more than a third whom look at shopping during the month of december for christmas as more chore than joy. This is even harder for you to think through this way. But i'm more concerned about people who get really excited by deal deal and spend money. That is really more than your wallet is designed for and so that's why back to basics. I want you to think about coming up with a budget. Not too late even if you've already been clicking and buying black friday week and now in cyber week you're like oh look at this. Do you look at that one. Go ahead and assess what you've already spent and how that fits into what you really can't afford to spend through this. Christmas selling cycle second win. They're things you're interested in. Just take the time to write down the offers for example like Historically have been the top draws in the friday and now cyber week deals and they get really really confusing so no this the real deals come with. Tv's and various forms of electroncs that our current technology not state of the art. The very best doorbuster kind of deals are those that are off brands or More minor brands an example Sam's club has a hot item today where they're selling a seventy five inch. Tv four k whole bit from philips philips is not a premiere brand in the united states anymore and it's five hundred and ninety nine dollars. There was a cheaper roku. Tv seventy five inch with best. Buy for four nine thousand nine that when sold out five nine thousand nine for seventy five inch. tv really really great. But it's Yes you'd call that a second tier brand and then when you look at the first tier brands samsung. Lg sony the tv's. That are the best deals for black friday. Cyber monday in this week of cyber week our. Tv's that may be Last season's models or models that they had oversupply of or they made specifically as value additions for retailers. To sell this week and there are great. Great great deals especially when you step down to the second tier or third tier brands. Listen this when if you want a jain normal. Tv best buy has an eighty five inch imagine eighty five inch tv. A high sense. Four k nine hundred ninety nine dollars. I mean that's ridiculous and they have an l g eighty six inch for fourteen forty nine so there are a variety of really really great deals on. Tv's and for people looking at more reasonable sizes like looking from thirty two inch. Tv's that right now are seventy nine dollars and up Sixty five inch. Tv's cheap is two hundred fifty dollars and there are great. Great deals available and avoid with electronic spying state-of-the-art because today's state of the art is much more money than current technology and we'll be current six months from now or whatever at a fraction of the price that state of the art is right now

How Can I Make My Pothos Plant Look Fuller?

"Katie says. My friend gave me her post plan because she was moving in. Couldn't take it with her. The leaves are green but the roots are all over the place and they're growing on top of the soil. I should i cover over the roots and second of all. How can i make the plant look fatter and fuller okay mark. I'm gonna try to help. Her post is a good indoor plant some times when it's in too much shade in enter your wall and so on it'll be just green other times and buy some cultivar changes. There's a beautiful marbled combination of medium dark green and a creamy white. So it's it's a wonderful plan. I have several of them. Growing right now. I even take cuttings from it and grow it outdoors in a shady spot in the summertime. Frost of course has taken care of that because definitely a tropical plant now from there that If she can add to the depth of the soil in the pot and not have to disturb things that would be perfectly okay The the plant probably well almost has to have roots to go down below what are showing on the surface but it wouldn't hurt to cover over. Oh let's just say like a most certainly no more than two inches deep but an inch would do it just to cover the roots. Now i take. I take anything in my hand. Be printers or pocket knife when it gets spreadeagled up too far i go back up under or a long stem. That's hanging down or crawling out to the side. And i get just below one of the leaves that are doing this thing and cut it off And i can go clear around the plant. I have one those. This is not kidding. Same pot summer outdoors winter in the bathroom with some eastern light that has been in that hunt for twenty five years and need to see it gets pretty sprightly at times so when i take it back out in the spring i cut it back up in this case fairly hard because it's hanging plant and then over the course of summer it'll grow another foot down. I may or may not prune it when i bring it in but certainly it will have lost a few leaves indoors and so in the winter i trimmed again and all i do is watered at rascal once a week and I don't even. I don't even give it a nod other than his beauty hanging from the ceiling on a hook in that particular situation so Shoot can prune it hard It won't respond quickly. So when you prune you'll think lord i might have come close to it no do not prune on 'em Above or toward the plant base. That is behind the last Well leaf node or leaf but It's it's going to be killed that one stem. It won't kill the plant. But i go. I go after it with almost vengeance when it's necessary and like i say twenty five years in the same spot. I think i fertilize it. Maybe six or eight years ago very lightly with an african violet food and it just keeps on keeping on so she has a good plan if she will keep it. Watered and i said mine in particular is once a week. No more no less. Well there's been less. I've forgotten time or two but at the same time the perseveres beyond my help and she's got a good keeper so Treated as you need to enjoy it.

Choosing and Decorating your Christmas Tree

"Don't know about you. But i used to be caught in the traditional decorations verses pretty designer ish tree quagmire and once had a condo as a single gal and i got a metallic green intentionally. Not real looking. Dr seuss looking skinny tree from my place that was decorated in brightly. Dr seuss ish colors. I was single. And i could do what i wanted fast. Forward a husband child later. And we started accumulating homemade and keepsake type ornaments. Each year we get a metal ornament with our family portrait on it so in eighteen years will literally have a tree called memory lane but these handmade and photo ornaments. Don't necessarily go with the aesthetic vision. I have each year. We have our ornaments stored in bins by color. So each year we can change up the look or mix two colors or whatever we choose without hauling all the bins. Only those we want because they're labeled my answer to this conundrum of looks verses homemade ornaments was to have both so my tiny twelve inch wide by five foot. Tall grinch tree goes upstairs with all the kid ornaments. My childhood ornaments are photo ornaments and the wool animal ornaments. That my son loves downstairs. It's the more aesthetically pleasing and real freshly cut christmas tree. We get the best of both worlds and we managed to do it without a lot of space. Size and proportion is tricky to judge. If you're going to cut down your own tree because large trees look small when sitting out in a field take you're measuring tape and measure the height of your ceiling and then subtract the height of your star for the top and then subtract the height of your tree stand and then allow for at least two inches of breathing room in between the top of the star and the ceiling. Next measure your maximum width allowing for ample space to walk around and take these measurements with you to the field. When buying or cutting the tree better homes and gardens has a great article titled how to choose the best live christmas tree which linked to in the podcast notes. The douglas fir is a long lasting cut tree that holds its needles well with a pyramid shape and bluish green color. It's one of the most popular types of christmas trees available in most regions. They're lush and full with compact branches and a strong evergreen sent for heavy ornaments. They recommend a frazier for. It's also very fragrant with by color. Needles deep green on top and silvery white below. This tree is more cone shaped so it would fit well in a smaller room or tucked in a tight corner. If you have a collection of heavy ornaments or lots of lights in garland. The frazier is a good choice with its sturdy branches. If you're all about the sent choose a grand a for with shiny by color needles. Bright green on top white striped underneath the grand for has needles that are softer to the touch than some other popular furs which gives the tree a fine textured appearance. This species is possibly the most fragrant among all the first boasting a strong spicy sent. The noble for has well spaced branches covered with upwardly curved blue green needles and aren't as quickly as some of the others though it stiff branches can support plenty of ornaments and lights noble. I have a similar pyramid-shaped. Douglas firs but better homes and gardens. Thinks they haven't even more classic. Christmas tree appearance with an almost layered look to the branches. If neat and tidy is your thing a scotch pine might be the one for you with a conical shape piney sent an excellent needle retention the soft green needle. Stay on the branches. Even if the tree gets dry so you won't be left with a lot of clean up if you forget to water it for a day or two. They often have slightly crooked trunks. Which can be a plus. If you like a tree with a little personality of fresh green color and tiered branching structure make eastern white pine contender. It's long thin. Needles result in a more texture is christmas tree and it's also a popular choice for read this the writers especially love a white pine for a minimalist christmas tree. Look they're flexible. Branches aren't the best for supporting heavy ornaments. But you can still deck them out with garland and lights.

Darwin notebooks reported stolen from Cambridge library

"Of two of Charles Darwin's notebooks to police 20 years after they went missing. One of them contains his famous tree of life sketch, which demonstrated part of his thinking on the origin of species. Curator is now believe they were stolen. I've been speaking to Dr Jessica Gardner. She's university's library. And she told me first more about the notebooks. Well, these over really precious that the handwritten notebooks assed part of a much bigger archive. The university likely of Cambridge, holds the largest archive, the child, stolen manuscripts and books anywhere in the world. These two notebooks are part of sequence. That were written in 18 37 18 38 after Darwin had returned from Voyager's Neech, Miss people, then known as the transmutation of books, and they're part of his developing ideas, which lead 20 years later to the publication upon the origin of species on what's really significant about one of these two notebooks is that contains a seminal sketch. It's probably just about two inches tall, absolutely tiny doughnuts, The tree of life and this is the first sketch. But Darwin then went on to rework another sketches and writing as part is thinking, too. Warts on the speed on the origin of species s. So I'm looking at the picture of it s so it is just very small with the tree of life picture and then just some writing on the side, and I suppose it's also just the writing his own handwriting that is also so powerful. It really is. I mean, it's magical life. I've worked my whole career in the preservation of cultural heritage and Coming to Cambridge working the Darwin papers that was, you know, really a combination of a career for me, so I am absolutely devastated by what has happened. It's really, really special to see his handwriting. We hold over 1000 letters to and from Darwin and many other notebooks, drafts all of his of his books. But these two notebooks are very special. We have published the digital versions fully online, the Web site so anyone can see what is in contained in his own handwriting online, But we know that's not the same. Missy ritual objects, and that's what we want to cover for the world. I understand that you want your focus to be on recovering these items, but it will strike people as strange that for 20 years you were just relying on them. Not you personally, but Cambridge University was relying on them just to turn up. Well, today of you very clear. Our protocols are absolutely clear. That if anything like this happened again, and I've taken considerable measures to help ensure that it does not. We would report to the police immediately, as well as juniors wide scale searches. Left hadn't been ruled in as a possibility at the outset, and I don't want to apportion blame to my predecessors. But I do take responsibility today and that responsibility has led me to report to the police and to Move as openly as possible who his public appeal, which is wider possibles audience to reach the recovery. I mean, these note pads are worth millions of dollars, aren't they? So so that the likelihood off somebody coming forward would really be dependent on somebody being interested in restoring them to their original place? But you can argue, and you can imagine, can't you that there are going to be people who if they do have it and no now what? They're worse that it could go in a different direction. Well, there isn't No way These notebooks could be sold on the open market. And that's bean one of the ways in which we have spent time listening and gaining expertise. My colleagues in the international book Trade, So You know this is where there are examples where consciences of pricked or just some information that leads to the next bit of fact that we hope will lead to the recovery. They can't be sold on the open market there too well known their provinces to unknown. Darwin is highly collectible. We know that But I also travel hopefully, in the goodness that someone will hear this and think I know something. Let's try and return. That's the world could benefit from it in the public domain. Not Jessica Gardner, the librarian at Cambridge University.

Is Snow Good For Plants?

"Let's talk about snow for the plant new and discuss whether or not it's bad or good for plants. Yeah i was thinking about this. Because i had a question ellen from a listener who said. She didn't know whether she should plant this new plant because the snow and the winter cold might be hard on it and that got me to thinking that those are two different things the winter cold and snow. And maybe we should talk about whether snow just by itself is hard on plants. So that's what brought me to this topic. I think it's a really good topic because the answer might be counter intuitive to some people because the fact is that yes winter cold can be very hard on plants and sometimes snow can be depending on what kind of snow it is but snow actually is a great insulator for many plants and can help protect them against winter cold so i don't think that's something that most people understand. Yes you're absolutely right. I've had people say to me. What's the best protective mulch. I can put on the garden. And i usually respond a twelve inch snowfall because it keeps the temperature of the soil. Constant it it protects the rupaul's from heaving. Oh and this was interesting to me. Maybe you knew this. But i did not i read and hopefully this is true that as snow falls through the atmosphere it actually collects nitrogen and sulfur from the air and then kind of like delivers that to the ground. I'm going to say that only partially correct. Come because you're right. It does collect that as it falls through the air. And if that is one of the spring snowfalls or maybe. I don't know maybe you have. These snows more in the santa fe area. Then we do here. But in order for that nitrogen to be delivered into the soil. The snow has to melt fairly quickly after it falls. That is so interesting. Because in santa fe we get six inches in it melts twelve inches. And it's gone. It accepts in melting snows and melt so for you. That's no fall is what they call. Poor person's fertilizer for us here in the northeast where the snow typically stays. You know through the winter on the ground or at least say's first several days or a week or two Then all of that nitrogen that those flakes have picked up falling through. The air actually goes back into the air as the snow sits and so we only get the poor person's fertilizer when we have that you know freak two inches of snow in april and it melts right away. Well since our soil is much crappier out here than yours is. I would say that we need it. Well snow does contain. It's got nitrogen or not. It does contain a lot of airspaces snowfall. Which is why. Snow makes good insulator. I've never had as many beautiful fox gloves. As i had the year after we had a good two feet or more on the ground all winter long so it can be a great insulator for plants and of course the one way that snow might be detrimental to plants is when it's really really wet and heavy and either mashes plant down or break slim's off of shrubs or trees or that kind of thing or occasionally if it falls very wet and then it gets really cold and freezes into ice and again can break things. Yeah and that's more likely to happen in. If you've got like an early fall when the leaves are still on the trees in those leaves hold a lot of snow or if you have evergreens that are going to get way down and sometimes you see ann arbor vitae that gets covered with snow intellectually like split. And that's very sad. So what i do usually if i get a very heavy wet snow and i can see. The branches of trees are bending over. As i'll go up out there and knock some of it off actually discovered one other way in which snow is beneficial to plant. And i haven't thought about this but it makes sense when you think about it in a winter warm spell if you got a little bit of melting and there was no snow cover some plants actually say oh yeah it's time to start growing they'll sprout and then it gets cold again in that greenery dies off but if you have a nice snow blanket down and it warms up some of. It's going to melt but a lot of it's going to stay on the ground and protect that plant from sprouting too soon. Which i thought was kind of cool. Yeah snowfall moderates the possible heaving and thawing and freezing and and all of that back and forth temperature swings that seemed to be happening more and more in many areas. A snowfall

This Is a Great Time to Start a Compost Pile

"Well fred i know that With all the leaves down there people still raking some leaves as well It's a good time now to use that and the grass clippings in everything to get compost pile going well. Mark is a wonderful time. As a matter of fact i have been a theme. Well i've i've done that for probably forty years now as a spot that is ideal for it. it's Behind the fence and way from the the neighbors view i put in some farm wire. You will farm fence. It's about forty two inches high. And then i put. And i do it a bit lazy man's way but of the chipper grass clippings bland with leaves. I toot around dumped into this compost area. Now i usually put in. Let's say a bag or two of the clippings. Then i have some old compost material in the same pen. 'cause it's four by eight i will put some of the the worked down compost. That has all bacteria and fungi and so on in to get the others going and am amazed some well. Family kids Long time ago. I had put this pie altogether on a thursday. They were here for the weekend. And i took them out when they didn't understand what i was telling him and had them put their hand down into that pile of composting materials and where didn't burn them. They pulled their hands up. Pretty darn quick because it builds temperature when this is happening and it's You need at least a reasonable space for but when you use only green things will no meat no cheese anything of that nature and you put in the blend that is We'll call living tissue and dying tissue. It's almost ideal for composting. And then you kind of adulterated. A little bit with the older compost to keep it going and then. I don't bother to turn it as often as i should. I put it together in the fall. I dig it out and start using it in the spring because over. The course of the winter is pretty much composted and Therefore i call it the lazy man's way you can build three bends and keep moving material back and forth into bins. All of which is very good. I am well between age and a very bad back and a little laziness. I just do it. The lazy man's way.

The Hills are Alive

"It was an ambitious project that though it failed would become part of the iconography of a decade in september nineteen ninety one the first term residents moved in to biosphere to a three acre volume built to be an artificial materially closed ecological system biosphere one being the earth itself a texas oil billionaire. Funded it to study. How people might one day be able to manage a self sustaining ecosystem for life on mars. It proved to be a lot harder in practice than it was on paper. The oxygen levels would drop too low. The crew didn't really know how to grow crops for food. Their pollinator soon died out and the ants moved in not just any aunts crazy ants. My name's moxy and this is your brain on facts. They go marching to by two. They're the subject of to cgi movies from nineteen ninety. Eight and a picnic wouldn't be complete without them today. We're talking about ants. This topic comes to you by popular demand to social media comments an email. That's a new record. So thanks to rachel. A prodigious and kate from strange animals podcast. We really should think about ants more often than we do considering how many of them there are. I've often enjoyed dropping the fact that the ant population is equal to the human population by weight. But is it. The claim comes from one thousand nine hundred ninety four book journey to the ants by harvard university professor and a german biologist. They based their estimate on the estimate of a british entomologist who calculated that the number of insects alive on earth at any given moment was one million trillion. If ants make up one percent of the insect world that's ten thousand trillion according to the book individual workers weigh on average between one two five milligrams according to the species when combined all ants in the world taken together way about as much as all human beings. So if you're going to play on a seesaw with a bunch of ants you would need about a million of them on the other end to balance you out assuming you weigh sixty two kilos or about one hundred and thirty seven pounds which i will tell you. I don't with around thirteen thousand ant species worldwide. There comes a lot of variety. They range from smallest less than one millimeter long to over fifty millimeters or two inches. That's the aptly named titanic mira gigante so weights vary too but experts seem to agree the average weight of an ant is less than ten milligrams but even among experts. No one really knows how many aunts there are in the world. A bbc documentary claims. There are not ten trillion ants but one hundred trillion though it still suggests that the total weight of the ants equals the total weight of humans. Even by the author's own math their calculations are wrong. If we estimate that the seven point two billion humans on the planet weigh a combined three hundred and thirty two billion kilos or three hundred sixty six million tons and ten thousand trillion aunts weighing an average of four milligrams. Each we get only forty billion kilos or forty four million tonnes or about nine pounds of human for every pound of ants even if we allow for the smaller human population in one thousand nine hundred eighty four and the smaller humans. It's still back of napkin. Math at best one expert does say that the numbers might have inaccurate at one time. Probably about two hundred and fifty years ago. We must also remember that. Humans are getting fatter all the time. We're not just increasing in population we're increasing in fatness. So i think we've left the ants behind another way to try to wrap your head around. How many aunts there are is to look at the biomass of them. One of my favourite weird history and animated rant youtube channels sam annella compared the biomass of several animals and visualized them as spheres literal animal planet's for example. If all the blue whales in the world could be mushed together like plato. They'd make a spheroid about one hundred and forty meters or four hundred and fifty feet across blue. Whales are huge but there aren't very many of them. In contrast the chicken planet is more than twice that size three hundred and thirty meters or eleven hundred feet across their small. But we've read a lot of them. The math was tricky enough. What with trying to come up with a density for each animal. But sam found order of

Uncommon Grit, with a Navy Seal Photographer

"Hey welcome back to another episode of this week photo on your host. Frederik van johnson. This is going to be an interesting interview as many of you know i'm a. Us air force veteran eight years. But nothing that i ever did in the air force and i was a combat photojournalist in the air force. But nothing that i ever did in the air force comes close to my guest. Today has done in the navy as a navy seal. We're going to talk about that. We're connected on many levels. He's like my brother now. You're my big brother. So we're we're gonna talk about photography. We're gonna talk about his experiences being a photographer being a navy seal photographer and getting some of the shots did some of us just dream about getting. We're also gonna talk about this thing right here uncommon grit so. This is a book that he just published. That has a bunch of the photos that he took on that journey throughout the years. We're going to talk about all that all it's coming up right now be was going on man how you doing good man. Thanks for having me appreciate it. You know it's like you know we work with the air force again. Yes exactly so. I tell you what you'd be going. Air force base is awesome and those guys we were talking about earlier. It's like all we do is we're on deployment. Also we wanted that. Damn cheese tortellini. Mr and then you go there or face and go and do donna facility and they got damn pop tarts got doughnuts breakfast sandwiches and mike. Wow we chose the wrong service. look us. life was hard for us back then. It's like god damn you guys ever get the steak exactly right. I don't understand it. Medium rare knitted always medium. I don't understand. I know like we show up. We're like hey what can we get for this really cool navy seal dive knife like wow a semi two inch plasma screen okay. Sold as greasy work work with air force the. Pj's fantastic and those their you know what they did there Just phenomenal people. So you know it was. Yeah it s great to scrape to her. She wanted to work with you on the other side with photography which is really and here. We are right. Who knew who i keep. This book is part of my permanent collection. Now so thanks again presented over amazing. So let's let's talk about first. Let's before we dive into the book piece of this. Give give give us kind of the overview of your journey from you know not knowing anything about photography publishing an amazing book like dream that you know i. It's it's really very very very unique. Journey is just the it started with Graduated seal training and ninety six class to await from there. It went to silting to Did a bunch of deployments was silting created. Seal team ten. So that shifted me over silty mate but there were talking about like liberia. Were afghanistan iraq. So it was like four. Five combat deployments before i got a break and when i got a break that's in the navy airforce auto the air force's rotation but the navy break is five and two so it's five years deploying two years at a advanced training command. Get your senses back together train and then get back out there For me it was ten years. But when i got out there i got sent out to military freefall school in arizona and it's joint commands. Were there with like army navy with that. You know that's where my journey began this two thousand and seven and you know actually even be out there teaching free like ours. I was already a navy seal for ten years. I had to be a basic wall. Which is your static. Line basic military freefall called basic static. Line jump master military freefall jump master and then when i got out there ended up being a military freefall instructor military. Freefall instructor examiner And so An accelerated freefall Accelerated freefall coach excessive rainfall instructor essen. Tna select basic all the calls for air and then a everything. Now you're jumping out of a c. One thirty at sixteen thousand feet with With new operators never jump before and you tap on the show them the jump out and my job was just hang with them and just with the mix. You don't screw up getting getting back straight whatever they need to do and make sure they poll and and go from there and then i I started doing video because video. And what you're gonna learn at military freefall because you can't see what you're doing because you're you're free some students are all over the place you know and so do the video but one morning It was really really early. I don't know what. I think we're trying to beat some weather pattern. That was coming in and we were like literally. The ramp is open on like like probably five. Am just as the sun is like creeping up and the whole desert was just like beautiful reds yellows oranges and i was like man. I should Somebody should take a picture of this is really cool and then i'm like oh i guess i should figure that out you know are and so. That's soy started. Just google unlike the went to dr google photography you know and then that started my journey and the number you know it just you learn and then i go to barnes and noble. As a matter of fact. I went to barnes and noble at my old seal team to dive log from my last a combat dives that i did and i went all the way to the back. Full of the paged. I put my semi kids over to the kids section. For The Love Of Begonias

"In our main segment today. Ellen i wanted to talk about begonias because this is you know in the fall i bring my begonia plants back from summer camp and into the house and in most i would say most rooms of my house that have a window there is at least one. Begonia and the range of sizes and types is so amazing and it occurred to me that if some of our listeners don't have a lot of experience with begonias we need to be a cheerleader for this planned and tell people all of the variety and the amazing qualities that so many of them. Have you know. I wasn't sure when you said you wanted to talk about begonias. I was pretty sure you were talking about indoor begonias but i also thought could we just save a moment sometime to talk about the hardy begonia. Because it's such a great perennial and so underused so just let's make sure we save time for that to absolutely well. Of course on my mind is the not hardy begonias in that. I grow many of them in pots and they go outside in the summertime an inside in the wintertime. Let's just kind of talk about the fact that there are so many you know i read that there are fifteen hundred species of begonia. That does not surprise me. And they're hugely varied from the little ones with tiny little demure flowers to some of those giant leave tropical rainforest hairy plants that scramble for yards. But i bet you have a favorite. Do you have a favorite whatever. I looked at ten minutes ago. Yeah i gotta say. I find the wrecks pagodas to be absolutely irresistible the foliage color. The fact that you don't even care if they flower because the patterns of color and the shape of the leaf. Just i just love rex begonias. It's interesting to me. That the leaves of at least i think the majority of begonias are asymmetrical this plant. That they don't have symmetrical leaves which often makes them more interesting and the wrecks pagonis as you say the color purples and blues and silver. Those are just wonderful plants for putting in say window boxes shade or you know as a container component in shade gardens You asked about my favorite's the one. That sort of immediately comes to mind as one that i find so intriguing is one that a friend gave me and it's called. The immense begonia and it is immense the stem on this begonia is a good two inches in diameter and it kind of winds around like a snake and then the the leaves are good six inches across and long. But the most amazing thing about it is to stems. And of both the go up to the leaves. And the underside of the leaves are covered with bright pink hairs. That almost look like thorns. And i would love to see a picture of the i do not know that begonia. But your description is making me desire it and it flowers in the wintertime. It's clearly triggered into flowering by long night short days And so starting. In about january it puts out lung fronts a bright pink flowers and when you have it in a window the wonderful thing is those those bright pink hairs get back lit when it comes in the window. It is stunning. It is huge. It is very heavy. I bet when. I brought it in my husband said. Why don't you let me help you with that. And i said you know the funny thing about this. Begonia is the plant is heavier than the pot. The clay pot was not as heavy as the actual plant. Because it's you know so massive.

First 'murder hornet' nest in U.S. destroyed with the use of technology

"Tiny technology is being used to track a huge problem. Yes, the Asian murder hornets and his 2020. We have to be worried about murder Hornets. Well, honey Kim Commandos show special Carline. We have Vikram I wre He's a PhD student at the University of Washington. And in July, he made the headlines and I actually watched the news report with him because he puts these low power lightweight, Ah wireless camera systems and he attached to the back of a live beetle to understand how to deploy a wireless vision in very small robots. Well, let me tell you about murder Hornets. They're about two inches long. I looked it up two inches long. How fast do you think these things go? Neuron to go 25 MPH these little murder awareness. So big room. Thank you so much for joining us. And let's talk about These little trackers that you're putting on these Hornets. How small, are they? Yes. So these these little trackers are about? Ah, a late six by 10 millimetres, they weigh a little more than a toothpick. Wow. So how exactly do they work? I mean, how do you attach it to the insect? Yeah. So we've actually tried a couple of different approaches for for attaching these little these all radio transmitters to the insects, But first a little note about how they work. Basically these things. They're sending out a radio signal periodically, for example, a couple times a second and the ideas that Buy, you know, listening to how strong that radio signals you can figure out how close you are to toothy. In fact, on the the goal was to be able to try to follow these things back to back to the nest. Now it's actually attach them on there. One of the purchase that I've used for working with some other insects before like beetles. Bumble bees a little drop of glue. Actually, super glue just works pretty well. For that. We found that in our in our first attempt when we're trying to tag one of these Hornets, they're actually a lot more active and some of the other animals I've worked with. And And you're doing this out in the field gets kind of tricky. And when they're moving around on, we put them on ice, Teo, you know to call them down. Make sure they don't. It'll move as much, but we still under getting a little bit of glue on one of one of the Hornets wings. So the other thing that we tried doing was just a little piece of dental floss, actually, um, we made a little news. Yeah. Yeah, it actually works really? Well, the you know, these animals have a There's three segments of their body, the head, the thorax and the abdomen and kind of joint between the lower too. There's uh, kind of skin your part where you could slip a little noose around and we were able to attach the tractor that way. Well, so, So how's the tracking going? I mean, so you put the transmitter on And it's doing my radio. Are you tracking them by like then by drone, or how exactly does that work? Yeah. So what we did was in the the hacking attempts that we've done. We've actually had a couple of people on the ground walking around with these tennis looking for, uh, basically looking for that signal, the same sort of approach that Uh, that has been used for, you know other types of wild by cracking applications. That's certainly something that I thought about mounting the same sort of thing on a grown really The only reason we didn't try. That was Just, you know, trying to get all this working in a short amount of time, but certainly doable, But basically we, uh you know, we attached the tag to the insect and released it to let it fly. And then we walk around and followed it back to back to its nest. And then So how long does the battery last cause it's gonna be teeny, tiny as well. Yeah, So that's actually one of the biggest calendars building anything. This small is you need some kind of power source and the battery and being one of the heaviest part of the whole thing. So the and you know exactly how long have battery lasts depends on a few different factors like, for example, how fast or how often it's transmitting. Um So, for example, the Ah The first, the first tracker that we used one of the ones that I built in the lab lasted about 12 hours when broadcasting appoints a second. Um, and so you know what? That's a long time. That's fact. That's fantastic. I mean, yeah, yeah, just a little little tiny thing. So So how is the tracking going so far? I mean, have you You were able to identify the nest and And have you have you had any other observations? Yeah. So on our second life tracking attempt So we found an excellent nest and that was eradicated this past weekend. I believe, um My expertise is more on the tech side, and I've been you know, through this whole effort. I've been working with folks at the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Um, a team of entomologists there, and so they went out and actually destroyed the hive.

Can I put mulch out in the Fall?

"And we had an email from Dana to Fred at plant talk radio, And Dana says I usually put mulch out in the spring like everyone else but I was unable to do so this year because of illness. Is there any harm in putting mulch on my beds this time of year and should I do it any differently? Well, I'm sorry for the oldest in the spring but that's understood and probably nothing long. Especially if the beds have been most before I recommend of course, we don't ever get more than two inches of depth and let's just say well most of the started off the year or two inches will probably biodegrade Downs by a half inch to an inch at this point. So we're I think some people actually put mulch down too soon in the spring while I'm still cold. Let's just say, I'm sorry. She missed the season. However, no reason not to do it at this point in time. We're I would even wait. Well not very long another couple months. Three weeks until the soil has cooled allowing plants to do more or less their natural think and then stop the advance of deep freezing and hard hard fast freezing with motor. No reason not to do it at this point in time. She can again do it again in the spring if she needs to but do stay with that as a joke about a two-inch covering. The only thing I wouldn't cover male there's more than one but I think I mentioned last week the mums can be caused to Decay roof rack the Chrome wise if the mulch is too deep around them and they stay wet in the wintertime. So I would not necessarily put the the most right smack up against moms and ask them that kind of thing but to most the bed in general and then not have it too heavy around the plant. It is just fine at this point in time and not really much lost. I would say Thursday. So if she doesn't want to do the whole job in-depth now you could do it now and again in the spring, but if well in my opinion, it's just a little too early to have to mulch at this point in time. Although it can be done and then be a little cautious about putting mulch down in the spring too

A Recipe From Deborah Madison

"This is Deborah Madison the author of an onion in my pocket, and the recipe I want to talk about is an Eggplant Gra ten with a golden. Dome Saffron recalled the custard. This has long been one of my favorite dishes. But when we made it at Greens, I used to add greer cheese to it to make it more substantial main course those who are concerns that that time people felt satisfied I've now taken the greer cheese out since it wasn't there in the original recipe, which is actually by Richard Only, and here's how it goes. So you're GONNA start with about two pounds or a bit more of a plant. All of oil, a small red onion finely diced upon clove of garlic minced a half a teaspoon of herbs vence or a tablespoon margin lease chopped. Two. And a half pounds of full tomatoes that are ripe that are peeled, seeded and chopped or two cups of crush canned tomatoes. Sea salt freshly ground pepper to eggs a cup of ricotta a quarter cup of milk a good pinch of saffron threads that have been crumbled and soaked in a tablespoon of very hot water and a half a cup of freshly grated. Parmigiano reggiano cheese, and finally ten large Basil Leaves tournant pieces. Okay. We're going to heat the oven to four hundred degrees Fahrenheit with and then cut the eggplants in half lengthwise. If you've got just one large eggplant, cut it in quarters, slice each quarter crosswise about a half an inch thick. Slices lightly with oil on both sides and then set them on a sheet pan and bake until the bottom sides have brown. About fifteen minutes. Turn them over and Brown. The second side, this often takes less time. So do check after about eight minutes. When the EGGPLANT is done, remove it from the oven and reduced the heat to three hundred fifty degrees. To, make the tomato sauce warm two tablespoons olive oil in a wide skillet when it's hot at the onion garlic and herb surpr- vence crush I between the fingers or the fresh. Marjoram Stir to the onion with the oil. Then reduce the heat too low and cook gently until the Union is soft twelve to fifteen minutes. Add. The chopped fresh or canned tomatoes raise the heat and cooks during occasionally until the liquid has cooked off and the sauces fairly thick. To make the custard, wisc the aches and stirring the Kota Melk sufferin and Parmigiano reggiano cheese season with a few pinches of salt and some short ground pepper. To assemble the Gratin, choose an earthenware casserole with two inch sides in eight cup capacity. Spread a cup of the sauce and the dish then set down the overlapping layers of a plant. Season it was salt and pepper scatter. Half the torn basil leaves over the surface. Then Dab about a quarter cup of sauce over those plants then make another layer of the remaining eggplant seasoned with salt and pepper add the torn basil and cover with the rest of the tomato sauce for the custard overall and bake until it is golden gently swelled and even Brown in places about forty minutes, we moved from the oven and let the croutons rest for about ten minutes before serving.

Scientists continue search for murder hornet nests

"Some more good news crew of Washington scientists have dismantled the first confirmed murder Hornets nest in the US. Remember Murder Hornets huge Predatory Hornets that basically became the mascot of twenty twenty when the first ones were found in Washington state earlier this year. Native. To Japan and typically called Asian giant Hornets. They're not nicknamed murder. Hornets because they murder people although people can die from allergic reactions to the painful stings. But rather because of the threat they pose to honeybees. In Japan, honeybees have developed defensive tactics over the years against the giant Hornets. But here in the US specifically in Washington where they've been found honeybees are defenceless and the Hornets therefore pose a substantial threat to the already decreasing honeybee population. So it's good news indeed that entomologists have been able to destroy a nest of the Hornets after a week long search near the Canadian border. The nest which the size of a basketball and containing a hundred to two hundred Hornets was located after attaching radios to three Hornets using dental floss which sounds more like technique out of a comic book. But at least we know that the Hornets won't have any plaque. The scientists wearing full body suits that looked like if SPACEX had to design a hazmat suit vacuum to the Hornets into canisters showing off the insects which can grow over two inches in length on social media they suspect. Hornets are after all used in a number of delicacies in Japan including skewered, pan-fried, jarred, and distilled.

How to Propagate Succulent

How to Propagate Succulent

"How to propagate succulents. Helen. succulents have been so popular of for the past several years and people love them. Is it easy to make more I think actually it's very easy to make more succulents. I think there are some of the easiest. Plants to propagate for several reasons. First of all, the very meaning of the word succulent indicates that there is a lot of moisture held in the leaf tissue. So taking a cutting of succulent plant, it's got some water reserves built up in that leaf tissue, which is going to sustain the cutting while it develops a new route system. Whereas if you're taking a cutting from a non succulent plant, it sometimes requires a little more hand holding and TLC you might have to missed it frequently, you might have to put it in some kind of tent where the humidity can be raised, but because succulents contained so much water in them to begin with. They have a head start on surviving that period of time that it takes to develop a root system. So I would say if you're interested in making more succulent goal for it, it is extremely rewarding. I think a lot of succulents. Certainly, some of them are propagated through seeds says many plants are but a lot of them in the places where they grow in the wild, they kind of spread around when either something bumps against the plant and piece breaks off and falls to the ground right or windy, and a piece breaks off and falls to the ground and roots right there. You know some distance away from the mother plant and then starts to grow. and. That's you know a wonderful way to think about propagating succulents which is. Breaking a piece off and putting it in some soil. Now, one thing to remember about starting cuttings of succulent plants is that unlike cuttings from other house plants, you don't WanNa, take the cutting and immediately stick it in soil you wanNA give that plant. Time to form a Callus over where that cut is, and again, this relates to how much water is held in the tissue of that cutting, you need to allow the plant to callous and that means sort of slightly hardened over the place where you cut that piece of the plant off and by doing that, you're making short a that it won't rot when it comes into contact with most moist soil. But you're also getting the plant to start creating a wound response just like if you cut your skin and your your skin, I makes a scab and then it makes new skin excuse me for saying the word scab but that's what it is. So when you cut a plant. That succulent it all needs to form a scab before it can start making routes from that spot. So you WanNa take your cutting and leave it out on your workbench on your table for two or three days. Take a look at it when that cut is no longer moist when it's a little bit hardened off, that's when you can put that cutting in soil and again think about you know that's what would naturally happen if a piece broke off the plant right and fell to the ground, it would I you know kind of he'll over there before even route start to form what type of soil do you propagate succulents in I? Know I have one bag of potting mix. By separate soils for CACTUS or African Violets, I use a lightweight soil less mix for all of my house plants except orchids some and I'll put those in Oregon bark but I like a lightweight potting mix for several reasons drains really well for succulents. That's great and it's also very lightweight. So if I have a large plant, even when it's fully saturated that soil, this mix is not going to be too heavy for me to move around or take down from a hanging position. What about you? I tend to use the CACTUS mixes. You know that they have a little more course drainage. You know I haven't ever done a comparison between doing it in cactus mixing, growing it in regular potting mix, and I'm sure that the regular potting mix woodwork I think what you don't want is a a potting mix. It stays really wet. You know that's kind of a heavy or maybe one that's very high peat. Moss. So sometimes you find them with the moisture retaining granules built in don't use that. That's not going to be a good idea that's not a mix that I like in general. I usually avoid those moisture crystals or whatever they are. So. You can cut off a piece of a succulent if the succulent is something tall like I've got some you four phobias that are sort of tall spires right and it's more the stem that you propagate on those not the leaves per se. And you can just cut a piece of the stem being you four. It bleeds White Sap Y.`all. So you WanNa put it on a piece of plastic or newspaper something while it as you say, kind of heals over and starts that response and then you can stick the stem about two inches down in a pot. And it routes quite well. Yeah and really requires very little from you and my guess is that pretty much no matter where you live if it's an indoor. I would think you'd have new growth from a succulent cutting within a month or two,

More Cheap TVs for Black Friday?

"Prime days over Black Fridays around the corner. But that doesn't mean the deals are over right. Amazon has already followed Prime Day with its holiday dash promotion promising continued great deals and other retailers haven't been shy about pitching promotions either. But when it does come to black Friday, which is just six weeks away historically, no product is pushed harder than TV deals. Amazon says it sold a record setting number of TV's on Prime Day, and you know what that means. You'll be seeing way more TV deals in the coming weeks. But you gotta wonder how much cheaper could they be then? I mean, walk into a target best buy or some other big box retailer now, and you can't miss him rows of large forty, three inch and fifty and set selling for two twenty, five to three hundred dollars. Amazon best-sellers even after primed have the same kind of price tags and if you WANNA smaller thirty, two inch TV, you're looking at around one hundred and fifty dollars. So wait a minute. How can a new TV sell for such a low figure when TVs to the right of these displays are usually offered for five hundred dollars to one thousand and even more. Well. Since most TV sales occur in the fourth quarter and you may be considering an upgrade real. Soon, let's explore the catch. What is it very simply cheap TV's don't have a picture that is good. Is the more expensive ones but. I don't think you care I. Don't think most people care I. Don't think most people would notice. I would venture to guess that the talking tech listener watching a three hundred dollar would think it's a pretty good image certainly as good as. They saw years ago for eight hundred dollars. The thousand dollar sets are amazing but I'll settle for the three hundred dollars set. Do you spend the two and a quarter on one of these sets or wait a few weeks or black Friday? I don't think the prices are going to be any different on that level on the mid range level they might be one, hundred, two, hundred dollars off which means get ready to stand in line get ready to camp out if they do that this year or have your finger ready to click that mouse on Friday morning or Thanksgiving evening let's see what best buy Walmart and target have in store for us. That'll be the issue, you know, about one or two inches is going to be a narrow band in some areas could pick up about two inches. And where you see that. Snowfall follow him out here right along I seventy that should be the biggest impact there. So are you still looking at the same forecasts for Saturday? Yeah. All eyes are of course on the weekend. Ray we've got another big storm that we are watching, and we could see a little bit of everything and all depends upon where the track of the storm is and how far north that rain snow line shifts, the right now parts of Indiana could be seeing a heavy band of snow could be talking about ice accumulation and could be talking about rain and everybody is also going to see some really strong winds. We're going to see wind gusts I twenty to thirty miles per hour. They're going to be picking up throughout the afternoon on Saturday into the evening could gust anywhere from thirty to thirty five miles per hour. And of course with snow and even the potential for some ice. We could be seeing reduced his abilities. And you know, some problems. Heading into Saturday throughout pretty much throughout the entire day. So of course, it we've got to fine. Tune the forecast as the days where on here. Okay. So just keep we'll keep an eye on that. But they're a little a little bit more snow in fact, two to three inches of snow in North Dakota even have a weather advisory out for that system. "It goes along. It would have been a nice segue with full could be, were. So the captain marvel the captain marvel trailer just came out a couple of days ago. That's Marvel's new, you know, big flagship movie. Gonna come out actually looks really cool. Eight hundred seventeen. The trailer I watch it hardly really good, pretty good, man. It's it's. It's honestly the movie set in the past. Nick fury still has hereon both is so you know, he's get hair and his eyes. Yeah. So it's in the path. Trailer. It's weird. Like all of this hair mind. And then obviously captain marvel who's played by breed Larson way. Please tell me Jerry Kroll wig. He looks like his name in Pulp Fiction. You know what I'm saying? What dude he looks like. All right. So do over Jerry. Oh yeah. You know how Jewish said he was gonna clean his life up during Pulp Fiction. It looks like this is what he did after cleaning his life. That'd be like, you know what? I'm gonna scalp superheroes. I'm going to come superhero scout and I'm gonna start this team. So basically it's it's Jules without an ipad. So anyways, so the trailer dropped. It was pretty cool. You know, there's about five months till the movie comes out. So some people were a couple of people are like, I don't know about the CGI didn't look super great, but there's a lot of time to clean that up and post. But it didn't take very long for Twitter to glomming onto the most ridiculous thing about the trailer. And that was that Samuel Jackson had more words like literally talked more in the trailer, then breezy Larson. So that was sexism. It was sexism because Sam Jackson, talk more now. I would now. What are we re Sex's a racist on this one, I dunno, white dudes, and we don't have to worry about the person named cheeses girl. Yeah, yeah. "Comic book movie, the only one that you're not and even more. I'm not one hundred percent. Sure I did. I think she's dead. She should be real dad, but it's kind of real that how many times Batman, how many times superman, how everybody dies. Wolverines back what. Enable said, no, he's really dead. Track. I'm gonna. I'm gonna try. That's why I stopped reading comics in the first place. Wait, I missed. I missed the fucking six months of comics. And then I go to go back and it's like, oh, this is an alternate universe. I'm so confused. I don't get it like, that's where I'm out with the movies now. I just don't get it. I was really enjoying it from you. It started me was first x. men movie. I think I was in Japan and I was on deployment and I was in Japan, and my first son was being born and I'm like, this is going to be gay, and you want to see it. And I was like, I just enjoyed a comic book movie. And then for not keeping up with them. Why? No, because it gets so confusing. I mean, pe- some people have lives that they have to deal with back in your right. Frigging me and west living up box. And we just say, once a week once a week, we'll record this podcast. I know that other than that, we're like Opie hear no evil. See everybody else going on to explain it. We all know. I'm just saying that's not what I'm saying what I'm saying. But like with Star Wars is a kid. It was like, boom, the first one came out and there was like three years where you just obsessed that was amazing. You're playing with toys and you're and you're reading these little. We didn't have the internet. So we had to wait for magazines or a blip on a TV show about what was coming up for the next one. Then in nineteen eighty four. I remember watching it and then I never won. Nineteen eighty empire comes out and he's like, people are waiting in lines again. You're like, oh my God, I'm in father. It was amazing. And then you're like, oh my God, I wonder where they're going to do the next one. And then it was amazing three years later. But you had these three your plots of speculation with no internet, I, I respect that. I respect that Star Wars. First one's good empire. Do you see that up? And I'm not, I realized I personally about him not enjoy empire as much enjoy the first one fucking I really don't. It doesn't do it. Okay. Sloop blasphemy, dude, it's it's the best, but I also don't think what I love. I love return to. I know I'm weird. I'd love that. And I know I'm the oddball, but I love return already told you. That's my favorite return of the Jedi. I mean, empires empires, an amazing movie for my favorite. We turn to get a rogue one. You finally get into war, see job empire gets you lay on that metal bikini, and that's just the beginning. It's like an Indiana Jones movies starts out with this incredible rescue mission, and then you're like, oh my God. That was, you're like, oh my God. For me just starting. The biggest thing I was older then, so I kinda was we all were, well, let's return dead. That's where I kind of because. Yeah, I know I want. I watched them all on. Well, the first time I watched Star Wars was at the drive in the second time was a buddy. Mine's dad got a laser. It's amazing that you like attend much. You mean because the traffic sucked. I was four. Still all this lighting is bad, and the music. School suck. It's, of course it's like mono speaker. Sir. "But God damn, I had two point. Oh, I got to catch up on some TV and movies while I was sick. The upside finally saw Infinity wars. What do you mean finally saw Infinity war. You hadn't seen that? Do. We've been talking about this for weeks and weeks that I haven't seen it finally got see it and I'll take so low. All right, you're, you're kicked off the freaking pod. Are you going to be? The only grown manage cried at that frigging show like I liked it, and I thought it was really good. It was good. It didn't blow me was good. It did not let me way not even like the first. The first vendors blew me away maybe because it was for the first time ever. All those amazing characters were in one think movie. The biggest thing with that movie, they'll do the last one in or if they would not have said that there's a second part. You wouldn't know what the fool like play it out, but I know, but like I kind of know. But at the same time, feel like it goes without saying, did you say two episodes like Infinity wars, one and two? And you know thing is going to do what he did, and then they got to come back. And even though you guys, you know, farted out the boiler about. Black Panther dying. I was still surprised at some of the people that died. Everybody can do the main character from gardens of galaxy, like, whoa, all of them all of them, but freaking rocket died. All of them know the green chicken die. Good morning died. He sacrificed her. She's she's the only one dead dead. I told you sick as those are now, maybe I need to give it my full attention, but she's the one who dead bed much. She's done. Oh my gosh, dude, I can. All right. So I'm going to say like I thoroughly enjoyed solo better. I'm not even joking crazy. Wait for it to show you think about what I'm saying you or super comics guy. I'm superstar. Worst guy to me solo it more gratifying. It was more back to the original three movies. It was fun. It just brought me to time in my childhood. That was great. And for you, Infinity wars was like this big culmination of the most awesome of awesomeness. If Star Wars, we'll get smart. They would just stop. Stop the can't nickel Disney's doing. They're gonna wanna shave until it's just ruined. Stop. You'll have so much love in their heart for the original three that they're letting you do this. But later they're going to. I like I like the side stories are liked rogue one. I liked solo a hate, seven, eight. I don't even wanna see knowing. But so it was great if those super underrated on Netflix watch it, it's about to be. Netflix, I'll watch it, but I'm not gonna pay. No in Philly, wars garbage. I. Oh my gosh. Did Star Wars lost permanently? Like I will not go to theater and give them manuals look. So retorted I can't believe is that exactly how he supposed to look? Looks like Josh Brolin looks like James head field from Talbot. We just threw down his headphones in a desert. Eight. I've done. I've gone. Let me go. Couldn't wait to bring minute, but I finally got to it. Thank. The only thing I watch. I'm Martin. I think it video was darn near perfect movie, dude. I know that was your regional assessment. That's why I was like, I can't wait. Gonna get to see this. Good. You waited so long you had so much hype that influenced you. In fact, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter you have zero tastes. So what do I care for me? The perfect only perfect marble and so far was gardens a galaxy one. To me that one was perfect. No became expected zero from it, and I was so I so loved it. I think deadpool one. The first Ed pool was amazing. Yeah, that was a perfect marvel movie made. I've, I've got no problem saying, like I said, dude, I teared up at the end of Finney work. If you don't get to when freaking Spiderman is going and be like, miss Restorick struck, I don't feel so good. I don't feel so good and he's freaking dying. I live man's arms. He was dying. He was waiting off inches from other realm. Nah, cheese. Did you know he's not dead? It's a bad thing about it..

"We can't hear you. Right. So I have you seen. It. Yeah, we lost. We launched you hear you past ten fifteen seconds of nothing. Okay. All right. So people don't know west and Chris are huge, hip hop fans mostly like old school, hip hop fans. I grew up on it in the eighties, so I'm hoping maybe you guys are little aware of this story. Yeah, the beef between Kane Eminem. And have you heard both of the rats? Yes. Who's do you think was better better? I would. I have to go with Eminem. Kill show. Yeah, it wasn't as it didn't come off as aggressive like MGK's it, but definitely I thought it, it crushed it better. And kind of said, I, it sets up the whole like, hey, doesn't matter what you say, who's the king? I mean, like obviously a king, I'm eating know, agree to disagree, but dude, I thought an EMS was super weak and I thought rap devil was way better by m g k I just don't think I don't even understand why doodling machine gun Kelly. I don't know where a guy like that would even had some old school rap would wanna sack up against Eminem. Well, I mean, are you kidding me? It worked out for them points, podcasts. We were just. Just saying it was, I thought, maybe it's pretty big in the news in big the hip hop world. Did I just thought, dude, I thought Eminem's freaking reply was freaking slack. Eminem though I wouldn't have replied, anti-trump route was salvageable or new kamikaze album. It's good. I never been a big fan, a new kamikaze albums, really good. I liked the story now I got apple music. I'm not he Eminem is one of the few people that actually like I'm not Chris when it comes to being a Trump supporter, but Eminem pissed me off enough to where I I won't ever buy or add to Eminem's download count ever again. No, it was good. I, I never really liked him that much to begin with. I've listened to it a few times. Now I'll let you of his early songs and I was like, oh, this guy's getting. And then everything else owns just like everything else he's ever done and I'm like, I got nothing else. Yeah, no, abs- absolutely. I two or three are amazing, and I bought those also listen to them, but I'm just the first two. I don't really blow me away, but after that it kinda like it's okay. Ish make. I enjoyed it with the first two. I was just it was amazing after relapse. I thought it kind of fell off. It's like an eat. I'm gonna spit this wrap them and eat it and poop it out. I mean, eat it again, spit that same rip and then what poop it out needed yet. And he's like, I don't know to me, it just kind of fizzled out. What did he's a thousand times better than all the mumble rappers you got today? Dude, every better. That's why we're old old school five, even though I plan on going into mobile, although I and I don't even know if I consider it hip hop. It's more modern pop. I like Drake a lot. A lot. I knew I knew I'm probably gonna get vilified, but I really like it. I, I. I like it. I think childish. I know that I was. I was pretty sick, man. And I know we joke about me being Tuesday. Like it was like Friday through Monday. It was bad. So youngest girl in the house got sick, twelve hours bounced right back. My youngest son got sick. He was down about a day and a half. I was down forty stand. I couldn't even understand part though. Where like you tell us that the the seven year old girl in the house turned you onto Drake, because that's how I think listens Right now. now on the fourth day, I try to drink a beer like maybe this will cheer me up or settle my stomach. I got about halfway through barf data if it was like this is real bad man. If I can't even drink beer four days. So you guys know I asked you to roll twenty four in the last pod you guys did. I appreciate it and then I couldn't. I just couldn't make it for the next day. I was just just go on with the hope..

Yeah, we were doing that when we're doing that. No, no, it was deep state hashtag Project. Veritas has drawn Pash tag. I wasn't banging her his bro, saw pictures ever like bro. The chick you've been talking to us about wasn't banging really. He's all cover. All right. So what an as is me is that's what they're trying to cover up is the affair part and not the fact that they were basically breaking the law. Well, I don't want him this opportunity with this article real quick before we get to far and we are on Trump train. Yeah, this is one of my favorite anti-trump protests ever the love this guy. So sociology, professor, Mark j bird in southern or college of southern Nevada. I'm surprised it's sociology is an anti Trumper. So to protest, Trump brought a handgun to school. Oh my God, himself. A couple of weeks ago, we believe forget it's shot him. So I wrote it down for this week. I like MRs again. I love the fact that this guy, all right. So he went into one of the bathroom in the school and like he's in some sort of Quentin Tarantino movie. He tapes, one hundred dollars. Mirror and he writes for the Senator. And then what type of frigging social, Pat? What type of hand you know what type of handgun he shot himself with. Right? Twenty two. Sure. Yep. Yeah, twenty two, he shoots himself. Unlike the arms flash shoulder with a twenty two would just kind of like jamming yourself in the arm with a pencil, like with like medium amount of straight and and stumbles out there bleeding all over the place. And eventually basically falls over slash pass is out to where students have to call. You know, nine one one, four him probably like what happened because they didn't even hear the report of the twenty two in the back. Figured out this is part of the police found early black and white twenty two. The hills, a black and white twenty two. I don't. That's a good point. I don't know. Maybe like a custom pistol grip. If you're lasers, if you did that, you're. You know what I mean? Pearl handled twenty. It a laser sight on it. He's like, I'm not gonna miss. As he presses it into his bike that I swear to God. I didn't even read the four. I didn't know twenty two. But as soon as you said that, I'm like, of course used a Toni do anything else would us down because if a starving. He shoots himself like right, he just grazed themselves knocked out one of the freakin light Japan. He doesn't know a little bit about the firearms. You know what I mean? 'cause no, because when you say you say gone, wouldn't most people think of like nine million forty five days. You're thinking. I wanna say pistol, but these guys are you get one a mayor fifteen pistols like got a pistol grip. Sure. What could he go? All out man. I Cusi obviously if those fully semi autos a teenage cry for attention in a professor. Well, now he's investing one, nine. He's gone that attention because now for those of us that responsibly own handguns or even just have a modicum of, you know, awareness of handgun or just any type of firearm laws in the country. He broke so many and he's facing a good amount of time because he brought a weapon onto campus where that's a gun free zone. He can feel the weapon. He didn't have a permit for. Thought he fired a firearm within like city limits, fun. He broke no joke, five or six laws doing this. He's going now. He's a professor and he's old and it's probably as first time. So he might get off, dude, oh, he's coming. He's getting off the bubble is he could go to jail for five or six years. Easy on this is about as far as your last, but if that long, but the only never seems like what his he said to the one faculty member that's like cradle any MRIs, bleeding to death in.

Because that's again, I feel projecting your own insecurities on what other people are talking about, which is so much of what the left and the extreme, right? It's just another one of those vox writers and crap like that when we got cold anti-christian bigots. Because we offended somebody on the right. Only forty, seven percent or of spice law tape. Buyers are frigging men, forty, seven percents, almost half. Wow, that's because that's because he's whipped ask, dude, you're carrying it out to the car for their wife. No, no. I would say that that's pretty high considering there's like, why really would have thought. Forty, fifty different genders. So the fact that we seven percent of them are men is quite a bit. I just like first off, how do you really get those demographics? Like, are they literally going every time like man. Man, we'll do a lot of genuine, assuming then if they do that, let me tell you. It's just a guess on me, present these. No, we can't say more than fifty. 'cause everybody, here's where here's where a lot of that comes from at least like from Starbucks. So when you go to Starbucks do quite a bit, how do you pay? It's the car. It's the app. Right? And he registered that app, right? Yeah, I don't. As an African woman, I do not do well, Well, you. then you thrown up numbers. Well, I do know, but it has my name on it, but I could be like west said, I could be buying that from my girlfriend. I'm just saying it's doing data. I mean, the way you purchase things, they're keeping track of all that the analytics, what you post on Facebook and Snapchat and because people aren't stupid. Everybody knows it. If you're posting you and your fucking pumpkins on Facebook or Snapchat, are you kidding me? Do? Are you kidding me going Instagram and taivon? Yes l. it doesn't mean we're not getting just because like I believe it's there, but they are gay. So you're asking where the analytics come from, and I'm telling you people people give that. Listen, let's let's clear this upper quick. You can never go to Starbucks together. Yes. Who who pays. Her series. Yeah, because the apps registered in her name..

"Ever. We used to free diving get lobsters with permits, quote, unquote, and then we rip the tails off through the Rick and screaming live heads into the bucket and the tails in another bucket. And then we'd just grilled the tales like you don't have to pull off stir, there's a lot of wasted prepare it. You can bake it like legit, bake it, but you don't have to throw them alive in a boiling pot of water. We've always cooked them. I know that's how how it's usually done. I'm saying there are other ways that screams you don't have to get him stoned. Rickman half like takes away the if he like the juggernaut deadpool. Juggernaut. I'm going to repair now. No. Well, you wanna keep it food related. I got something here that just cracked me up. So keep it food reminding one this. This is one of the worst time time here. Do you know what time of year it is press. Pumpkin spice time can spice time and show is which is the world's worst right Rian. Right. Are you saying something negative about pumpkin spice because I'm not. Yep, it is now officially considered sexist to talk bad about pumpkin spice lot days because women like it and dudes candidate. They like it. I don't think real man like it. That's ridiculous. I don't mind. To say that that is six dollars. That's true. That's sexist. No, you drink that foofoo ass coffee at Starbucks all the time. This is just a different version, but mocha which is Charlotte. There's no difference. A hot chocolate was seen. It's a different foof flavor, pumpkin spice as gay. That's not the only the only do like can spice are dudes that would go get filmed with the other one hundred fifty guys and pretend like they're stupid. That's how they all get. Dude, here's the thing about pumpkin spice man is divided everywhere divided into camps. No people either love pumpkin spice, or they think it's so super cool to bag on the people that like pumpkin spice. It's essentially a frigging Meam at this point do if you'll love pretty much you just make fun of as just your pumpkin spice of beers. For basic white.

"Call. The cops on your stop. My stuff keeping with keeping with a pot theme. So one thing I think everybody likes, then they might be in love with it or whatever, but everybody likes lobster. See if you go to Charlotte, North Carolina's legendary lobster pounds sees me. It's in Maine, the name of the woman who owns the places Charlotte. So they offer their lobsters to him. All right, so that you know you people usually get their lobster steamed boiled, but here you can get them baked to Charlotte Gill who owns the place. She decided a couple years ago that it just wasn't humane the way they were killing the lobsters, boiling them alive. Now it wasn't bothering her so much that she would stop running this lucrative business and making all this money, but don't bad about the wishy couple lobsters. So she said, I feel bad that when lots just come here, there's no exit strategy, which I disagree my plate is quite the exit. She said, so it's an, it's an a you where we live in a unique place and get the unique things, but it's all the expense of this little creature. So I've really been trying to figure out how to make it better. Again, this is for the lobsters that she's boiling alive and serving the people. So she decided that that a better way, if you're going to be boiled alive, you might as well be high. I. So she just happens to be. These happens to be a licensed medical marijuana care giver. So I don't know if she's, you know, I guess technically she's giving these lobsters care. We'll record when I was looking at what you're looking in. Maine, I guess I didn't know this, but pots legal, their recreational. Well, she, she decided to pay a law for that. She named Roscoe. She put an bought a few inches of water at the bottom, and she's turning blowing marijuana smoke through the water into the vox. And she says that this calm lobster for up to three weeks before she killed it. Now, I know. For dogs? Probably a pretty good chance. It's not stone. It's actually in a coma. Thinking about why even horses. A lot going once their once. They're high, they're pretty passive. They don't try to attack the lobsters there. Apparently don't mind almost band together and. She said that also shoot, she let everyone know that the THC and appears smoke gets cooked out. So even though the lobster is high, she promises you that you can't get high from from smoking at us. Can you? Can you got THC and like brownies and stuff, right. That's cooked. Yeah, that's true. And you still get high as edible, I mean, I've heard you don't. You don't boil brownies now. Here's the best part of the water by them. This is part of it where I'm almost like he's one of us. I, I like the fact that she's a capitalist and almost like man of the week type stuff. So she knows she acts like she really cares about all these lots that she's once again, boiling to death is served the people. She doesn't get them all high. You have to actually pay extra money to get your lobster high before you cook it do. She's not waiting on those things. She's just saying that. She's actually she's. The option on the menu to to get your lobster high before they kill it. So that like I mean, I don't know who's this really is appealing to see some like vegan hippies down. Shot opens a branch in Oregon gonna make million is packed full of frigging hippies Bill. They are, but I'm saying, but being hippies, these animal lovers can Can so. so. Right? That care so much about how the lot that tweet from there. I'm a vegan. I eat meat. Yes, we exist. And then of course you got hammered. I believe in God. Yes, we exist and it just kept going down the road. It comes full circle dude. I'm just saying this story started out so retarded that she's getting lobsters high, but she's charging even more retarded people her customers. Here's Bill. That makes us so stupid because I used to cook a lot of lobsters and we never boiled them alive.

"It had to do with the video without that I could see being. You can't. You cannot video tape. You didn't consent. It had nothing to do with like rape or anything like it was. It was video without Kazan is what it was so the, but he's up for got convicted of rape. I don't remember what they didn't say much on your other than he was like. I can't remember the number of charges like one hundred eighty charges. Because that's the same thing that really like if you stick your dick in a whole, that's that's on your own. That's like signing away. Let's sign a waiver when you put your dick and did that many people come out and say he up. He did this to me hashtag me too. Yeah. So men win. Again. They immediately come out and say I was I was tricked was right. No, no. I guarantee there's another hunting radar anyway. Thirty years. So he's running. There's another hundred fifty of the six hundred twenty like dick then talking about there's another five hundred. Anything. Nothing. They didn't wait thirty six years now, like immediately. That's no only only democratic operatives do that. When someone's nominated for Skoda. What's that clears up so much. That was last week we got little move on. It's still it's. You can see on the news right now because well, depending on which one you're listening to one was floods. One was frigging cavenaugh. The floods. Is you guys talk about that too? The hurricane that never was knows a Florida, Virginia, Virginia. It was definitely nothing like told you sprinkle. Yeah, it rains harder on a Tuesday Christmas, we should. We should. We Like like the the fry. fry, like we record right into hide him rope. This. I'm like down yet seen it now, but no brand now my son still up here. He hasn't. He can't go home. There's no one running water and they can't get through the road to get to login. So he's still stuck up here. So North Carolina and got they got Harvard clad. I left Lizanne two weeks ago. He will another another area that actually got hit pretty hard by Florence. Well was will see counties in Daytona Beach area and Saint John, and they've had a different set of problems other than just, you know, loss of power, loss of water. There's there's a silver lining, everything guys. I'm I'm off and then. Well, even better than that, because what they've been having washed up on those beaches is just. Metric tons of marijuana. All nice and sealed, and it's just been washing up on the beaches. There is now for stealing the couple of like, how do you still just washes up onto peach? Yeah, how's that does not mention? Yeah, but now it's all say it can lead to. Giant bungle. Been. I've been wrapped in five kilo bricks have been washing up the shores of Florida since hurricane Florence. Obviously, these are drug votes that have been capsized or freaking lost at sea. And so while you said. Harshly punching four. Well, they're already there. Now what I really like west already kind of talked about a one guy has already been arrested. You sixty two years old. They withheld his name, but he got, he got blessed with eleven pounds a week. This dude let him pounds a weed. You're probably going to jail for a long time. Man, that's like a tend to distribute not I'm not can to go go to. to. Intend. Now shriveling is is when you have it in separate little packages, I did. I don't know, eleven pounds printing lot. You're getting. You're getting more. That's not freaking the coming for the trailer park is partying. For a couple of the actually the story that I looked at had associated nine one one calls and one of the nine one one call a woman calling and said, hey, we're jungle heart park and a huge bonding drugs or something just washed up on the beach. And there are people like they're like fighting over it. So the one caller goes, how many people she said, there's like seven or eight people out here. They're all like huddling up against my dad's, trying to take it to the cops can come here and get it, but it's pretty much a brawl..

Yeah, he does not look a feminine. He actually looks like a dude is profit. Pretty broad shelter and big and I was into dudes. I wouldn't be into that dude. I mean. He's not an attractive man. He did a total of six hundred twenty hook goes, but hundred fifty of them. We're the ones that now. Now count and uploading. I could see six hundred twenty eight meets six hundred twenty videos, but only one hundred fifty tricked. The round. He's like only one hundred fifty made the cut because I could tell these new what was going on. I'm not gonna lie. When I first opened up, the article is hoping to read that he was actually married and dressing up on his wife's clothes, which would make Yvonne just a single dude. I don't get how they were tricked when they saw that. Did. Well, it does say wearing a wig and like a lot of shitload like inches away makeup, there is, no, I'm going to make it even easier for you. This is the part that I kind of wanted to bring to. Why mentioned the cop in the sticking your dick in a whole and not know what you're getting now? There, blindfolded. Oh my God. Never covered something like this on the part. Yeah, but it was a chick that was right, rape and chicks you could leave, right, Vic, fake. God early, you can currently is that many virgins around just like, oh, apparently this is this is what is why. Oh man. It feels like like bags of sand. It feels like communion wall. Father, tom. What are you? What are you doing here? I thought you got twenty years. They don't go away. That's true. They've never got the. They've only been catching that's a silver cross.
