And let's get more on the conditions out there from storm team four's Chad Merrill. Indeed, we have the heaviest rain right now producing one to two inch per hour rain rates, which will quickly pond water on roadways between montrose and top a Hanukkah also north of the border into Charles county and saint Mary's county where flooding is occurring right now as a matter of fact that we just got to report that maple road is closed and several locations due to high water. We have that flash flood warning in saint Mary's county until later this morning, moderate rain continues east of Washington all the way towards Annapolis and Baltimore and those flash flood warnings continue until 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. this afternoon. Starting to see some light rain starting to fill back into the nation's capital, a couple of sprinkles being reported at Reagan national, light to moderate rain, north and west and the Hagerstown will move across the nation's capital here later this morning into the afternoon and we don't expect The Rain to end until 9 o'clock to midnight tonight. It won't be as heavy as The Rain that we saw earlier this morning, but it will still aggravate existing flooding conditions. So keep that in mind for the afternoon, the flood watch will likely get extended past 2 o'clock. Overnight, we will have cloudy skies after about 9 o'clock to midnight, temperatures dropping back to 70°. We stay in the 70s all day today, so not much of a temperature change. Sunday and Monday, gorgeous, mostly sunny, lower humidity, temperatures in the low 80s back to heat and humidity upper 90s on Tuesday and then showers and storms on Wednesday. AXS to Deploy Biometric Amazon One Palm Readers at Entertainment Venues

"This is part of the show where I'd like to talk about future tech. Can it tell you what's going on? So I'm sure you've heard about the payment system called Amazon, one that allows you to buy things in stores where you just wave your hand over a scanner. It's pretty simple. You hold the palm of your hand with two inches above a biometric reader. And then what's the system verifies your ID? It charges the payment card that you have on file for whatever you're buying. And so you don't have any more checkout lines being using some Amazon whole foods stores. It's expanded. But it's expanding to this. Why bring it up to you? Stadiums and arenas? That's right. Um, no more tickets to get inside concerts or sporting events. Amazon's taking over everything, aren't they? You just scan the palm of your hand. It's being used for a company called Excess in Denver, Colorado at one of the kiosk at the Red Rocks and theater. Anyone coming to an event can enroll one or both. Palms just takes a minute and then you can just scan your palm at a reader to enter. Um, the Amazon. One system could they say, create a unique pump signature? All that other stuff, But Big Tech already knows a lot about us. I know a lot of people are worried about this, but the palm print is just one more thing. You know, Palm lines tell a lot about you. But your browser history? Mm says everything.

In anybody living there is really been struggling with all that flash flooding and all the Excess water. It's been so spotty, right? This year's been, I think gardeners say that every year it's a crazy year for garden, but not according either end, not according to the almanac. It's always able to be predicted, and you know exactly what's going to happen every year. What time it's going to rain every day. Yeah, exactly. Um so, so that weather missed you. Just you know those storms pop up and sometimes you benefit and sometimes you don't so everybody's facing some, You know different challenges. I'm seeing a lot of Lines that are still fairly dormant, some dead patches due to the crazy weather. Um, you know, so I think we're seeing different kind of insects is related to that, usually for us. We don't see a lot of insect problems because our lawns usually receive sufficient moisture. And so it's It's just a time that we're going to have to really help our lawns recover and get them ready for. You know, if you're lucky enough for the winter ahead where you have, you know, greener on for some people have We have agreed. Our lines of the winner here is maybe going dormant as things cool off a bit. So just kind of helping airlines recover from the stress is whatever you were suffering.

Jake and his wife nikki where the place we rented has a bunch of Pear trees and we noticed that the pears were dropping. You know it's sort of like apples. Early ones drop and the friday night. I came home to dinner. They had made. And one of the things they made was baked pairs. And these were the dropped pairs. It came down and they weren't more than maybe two inches or maybe three and i was so surprised. I sorta figured well. They were hard and and really unusable but they had they had cut them down through the stem and the seeds. The long way opened them up. They put him in a in a big baking pan and put on now. Oh butter and some honey and put them in the oven. Three fifty for about I think they figured it was about forty minutes and all because they kept baking them and they were absolutely fantastic. They were you know big pairs and i would never have thought. Those little hard pairs would would be edible at all but they turned out to be absolutely delicious and they topped it off. with maple syrup and a little brown sugar of course and that helped but they were absolutely delicious terrific. I did that one year. And i actually could do it again. Now because tapani. The place. Where i where i lived. I mean literally off the huge development behind me and all around me and all that but it used to be an orchard out there and yell it's bay and so there are a lot of very old and Vestigial i guess is apple trees and a lot of them look like a cross between crab apple something else. Small hard little apples long story short. Exactly what you said you know bake them in butter a lot of people sarah sugar and they're delicious

The outside 10 inches a little bit grip ear a little bit softer. It's sort of a dual zone, A multi zone tread tire. They introduced this back in 2013. It's worked very well here at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and today, Doug, They'll have 10 sets of tires and one thing we will not see that you do see sometimes in other tracks to tire four tire, uh You get a chance to put on tires. You got to go forward, and we even saw a great example of tire management yesterday in the Xfinity race. On the last stop. All the teams came in, put on scuff or used tires, but they only had about 10 laps on them. So it was a lot better option than sticking with the tires they already had. And that update brought to you by Goodyear, the official tire of NASCAR drive beyond what's possible. Goodyear. More driven. And of course, we're here at Atlanta Motor Speedway today. A little bit later on will be revealing our Meiko paint scheme of the race. Whether UPDATE we had the briefest of showers come through doused the speedway, but mother Nature took care of it. NASCAR cranked up their track drying vehicles didn't have to put them out on the track. But for maybe a minute or two at the most, and the place is completely race ready and dry, and we're being bathed in sunshine here today at Atlanta Motor Speedway. And now it's progressive tales from the road presented by progressive insurance. We asked drivers if you could take a road trip with anyone living or dead, famous or not. Who would you want to go with? Eric Jones is thinking presidential. I'm gonna say Ronald Reagan. I would love to talk about him because he had two totally different lives right? So what exactly is it. I mean assuming from the name that there is an led display here Give us some details. What exactly are we getting with this new upgraded switch. The main thing is the seven inch screen which in contrast to the regular switches six point two inch lcd screen so the screening look better right right. Oh let is normally known for more colors more black blacks and wider whites. I guess and it's just more contrast with lead that's usually what most of our high end smartphones are using. Now right exactly yes. So this will be great for people who mostly play handheld. It also comes with a wide adjustable. Stand which you might remember. Did You Know Females Have a Prostate? Sex Educator Deborah Sundahl Explains

"Let's talk about the clitoral orgasm versus the g spot orgasm. How would you describe them. We'll first of all g-spot is the female prostate that female prostate surrounds. The re throw canal. It starts at the outside opening of the body. And it's thirty two ducks. Glands are sprinkled along the eureka three canal about two inches so therefore because you're re throw canal and the vaginal canal share the same wall that means you can easily access prostate through the roof of the vagina. "Well wait to get to that when we introduce her. Please put your hands together for mary. Katharine ham. thank you how that's reeling. That's thrilling to hear an audience. After it's been a while i know right Have you heard of lawn. Shrimp i i think. I have vaguely heard that term. The fact that they're so small changed my take on it. I was initially horrified. And then then the fact that they're little they're they're not bothering me as much as the initial description interest. because i. i know you're getting a lot of bug talk. Tony artists yard is full of cicadas. So we actually. I'm not sensitive to them. I grew up in the south. I've i've seen them my whole life. Listen to the my whole life. They don't gross me out the gross everybody out. I kind of think people are being a little drama queen about them but they are all over the place right now and they're large. They're like two inches right there to two inches or so and they have a pencil eraser. It's like it's like a whole doesn't pencil racers. Well that sounds like a nightmare. But how big when. I i said lawn. Shrimp how big were you thinking. I was thinking half a sucato. Okay you know. I was thinking like like looks like a crowd. Crawdads crawling across your lawn. That would be pretty gross. And that's sort of what right that would be upsetting. You know what i learned from aforementioned greg potato bugs in spanish are called baby heads. Those are gross. Bugs does are gross. Bugs they're all gross. Except recently someone posted a dragonfly on some social media and its little head and little face looked surprisingly cute and i was like oh no i will not be swayed by bug propaganda. I won't so the thing that i hinted at before. America catherine is that you are with child. I am i am pregnant. Pregnant an all gaul. When you've been sick. I've had by my calculations to good days really. I felt like. I had a day to good days since easter. That's that's a run. It's not. It's not good. So i kind of like hit the end of my positive thinking powers. Yesterday i tried to refocus today for this podcast. Jaycee Horn's Rise to the NFL

"We'll do some people thought that the panthers maybe should have taken a quarterback specifically justin fields with number eight pick. What is matt rule said about his decision to go with jesse horn. What does he like about this guy. One thing he did say as like jaycee lived this like he knows what it takes to be successful in the nfl. Because he saw his dad he lived at his dad was. Nfl player. great nfl player. he's grown up with it. His whole life play at the highest level. He's got thirty three inch charms. He's six one. Whatever he is ran for three jumped forty two inches. I mean he's a. He's a rare physical specimen who also has the pedigree that's hard to find. He loves jc horn. He loves the physical nature cockiness and the size the speed to match up with all the big receivers in this division but it also tells us something about what the panthers feel about. Sam darnold over justin fields. Right i mean darnold is a guy when they traded for him. They talked a lot about this like he could almost be in this draft from an age standpoint. He's only twenty. Three darnold turns twenty four june. He's younger than joe burrow. Who of course was in last year's draft but it's a risk and if just enfield's goes on to be an all pro guy and chicago and the bears answer quarterback. History will not look upon this panthers decision favorably again. Nothing to do j. c. more about darnold versus justin fields.

Early Spring Means 'Last Call' for Transplanting

"Now i know that this is the time of year when you say it's the last. Call for transplanting. Yes now by that. Meaning i. I'm looking at several things in my yard in the near area that are starting to put out leaf wise and or even flower wise. I would say that right now. You either have to get the transplant done. Sap like noon today or soon or wait until the new growth has hardened off with some sunlight some growth and so on. Because i think to move things when they're in full. Spring growth is is detrimental. Now i know it has been done in a commercial sense. You just have to do some things when you want to. Instead of when the plants best suited but I don't see any reason why why not i. I didn't do one of the things that's going to do this week. I have to fatten. sassy brilliant. Yellow chrysanthemums. I was going to move the monday Tuesday wednesday thirty now. We're at saturday. They're not done yet. I because they have only just started. Oh maybe an inch and a half to two inches of growth. I wouldn't hesitate to pop them out. Divide them down the middle etc and replant them but things that are coming on for example. I have peonies right now. That are oh at least ten inches and one plant is it features itself in good son and so on. It's almost knee-high already. Buds are setting. And then i have a japanese tree peony that has put out about. Oh three almost four inches a growth. The buds are starting to set. I would not even think about moving it at this point now i also have. Then what's a little little. It's a fern leafed peony that is Very very very fine. Textured leafs

I mean, you know, there's not much of a home court advantage to speak of clearly, Um everybody is playing either in front of zero crowd are very small crowds. And, you know, I just don't think that you can You know, they're the only conclusion you can draw that that has some sort of impact. Which was not the case in the bubble, But there's you know, whatever psychological impact there is of being on the road of having hostile crowds were having a supportive crowd. All that once that's gone, Um and I think it's showing up. Understandings like Look across the standings. There's there aren't that many great teams? There's a lot of mediocrity. There's a lot of teams a little bit above are a little below 500. You know if it's exactly if you wanna look at the glass half full, you can say Well, there's a lot of teams that are still in it. That's fine, but I think the flattening of the standings You know, speculatively. It's impossible to prove, but it seems like that could be part of The lack of home court. And then, of course, the other obvious impact has been You know, two dozen games that have been postponed because of, you know, some combination of guys. Either being sick or being in contact tracing protocols. And you know, it's been disruptive that that's settled down over the last couple weeks, so Um, that's that's good news. And then we'll see what the second half this season hold. They still haven't given us that schedule. I was going to say if you told the commissioner of the NBA that we'd be sitting here in mid February, and it would have only had, uh, as you mentioned slightly above a handful of games postponed, but not a ton of them. I think they would have been pretty happy about it. Considering the state of the country. I know it's an everyday changing thing, but from where we started to where we are now, I think the NBA has actually done a pretty good job of staying ahead of the curve and keeping his many games scheduled and played as possible. Yeah. I mean, you know what people have to obviously realize with all of this is that No matter what your rules protocols guidelines, you know, however, you want to Set out the rules of engagement for a season. They're still subject to the conditions around them, and you know the virus is still raging. Fortunately, it's you know, infection rates have gone down in the last couple weeks across the country. But it's not an MBA problem. Of course, it z, you know, societal problem and writing to manage it about as well as they can. Um, you know, you can't eliminate the risks entirely. As long as you're playing, and so you manage it as well as you can. And I think you know to the extent that the MBA has Postpone a bunch of games. You know Carter, it's just because they erred on the side of caution is not that it was because those rosters were decimated by guys being sick. It was mostly a lot of guys. In contact tracing protocols, which is, you know, to the NBA's credit there that You know they don't. They don't have to pull those guys from competition. They're doing it to be on the safe side. And I think it's paid dividends for them. We mentioned no crowds, as some venues around the country are allowing some crowds in minimal at best, so far, but we are starting to see the pants be able to get back into the building, at least on a limited basis. But it opened up a can of worms down in Dallas because the Mavs had in the game that they're playing with no crowds chosen to not play the national anthem since the fans weren't there, But then the fans were allowed back in and someone noticed. Hey, they didn't play the national anthem and it became a huge story. Mark Cuban explained it as best. He did the NBA to go hardline stance and said, If we're gonna have our fans, we're gonna have the national anthem. Everybody's gonna play. Play it going forward from now on. It became a pretty big story should it have I don't know how to answer that, Jodi. I mean, you know, Yeah. We understand the politics in this country, and we understand how a story that is Potentially minor in scope can spin out of control. So I don't think it was actually that big of a story. To be honest, I mean, seems to me it came and went within a day or two. And we move on to the next thing as we always do. Um I don't think it was that big of a deal. Okay? Do you believe that we should play the national anthem before? Since I'm talking to you, You're Mr MBA. I'll just say NBA games, but I could say it for any of the major sporting events in this country. It's a tradition that's been around for a long period of time. Is it one in your opinion, it should continue. It's a policy decision for the league's to make. It's not for me to say. I mean, I don't Think it's necessary. I don't I don't think it has anything to do with the games. I got nothing to do with sport. I don't think we played anywhere else. Before people settle in, and people argue that well, you know, it's a massive gathering of people around a kind of community. Sore concerts, sore movies. So are you know all kinds of other, you know? Work today. New. We don't everything else with it, So it is a strange kind of association. But it is a tradition that's when the people are used to. And so if people you know, like doing that before the game to kind of bring everybody together You know, That's the argument that they make, um You know, I say, I don't see any real direct line between Playing the anthem and playing a sporting event. Um But You know it, Z kind of ingrained in tradition. How it back about Sy, our guest here on CBS Sports radio. Let's take him back onto the court. The hottest team in the NBA A and arguably the best team in the NBA right now is the Utah Jazz some cosmetic changes in the roster during the off season, But basically it's the same team coming back from last year, where they made some inroads in the playoffs but then got picked off. But this year they've been nothing short of spectacular and they're beating everybody, not just the lesser teams in the NBA. They're beating the best the best. How has Utah improved as much as it has? Well, part of it is is that you know they didn't finish last season. The whole, you know when they lost billion Bogdanovich, um during the during the layoff and then before the bubble To hand surgery. That was certainly a setback for them for when when they played in the bubble. Um It was my Connolly's first year last season with the team. After an entire career, Memphis Running things a certain way playing a certain way. It was a thing, just a hard transition, especially because you went to a team. Where there was already, you know. Star Garden Donovan Mitchell. Who had the ball in his hands a lot. And so I think the adjustment plus some injuries for Conley Just made for a tough first season, and he is Back to the incredibly, uh No, just just effective, productive. Player that he we. We always knew him to be in Memphis and part of that health part of its comfort level. Um And so that, you know that makes a big difference. You're adding a guy who while he's never been named to the All Star team was an all Star caliber talent. Everybody's known that And You know, while his Ross stats Don't show it. The advanced deaths indicate that he has been really critical to their wild success this season. And then they just, you know, they have a lot of really good, solid players cut Flashiest roster. of Donovan Mitchell. But It is really effective group and they Move the ball really? Well. They shoot threes at a really high clip. They make the meta.

"Rain up there three weeks ago, I think yeah, And when you get Ray and you get ice, a nice layer, and then you drop 6 to 10 Ft of snow on top of it. That is frightening Avalanche conditions, which is kind of remembering me reminding me of. I think it was 80. I want to save 82 up there in Alpine meadows when they have that the lodge that Yeah, right. So so that counter this big stories. How did the counter that I mean, is there Is there anything that you can do? Make fast, you know, to try toe. Try to make sure we don't have these massive and avalanches that want a pair. That's risky Patrol gets it. Yeah, they do. They control them. Yes, they blast him and stuff And it's just what happened. They're just think about mountains and this users like squad of Big Bear. There's a lot you know people are super into especially snowboarders, lion skiers. They like to go off piece, which is, you know, off the main runs, and that's where the best pal Pao is, they would say, And that's where the avalanches are in the ski. Poor ski resorts. Try to keep up, but they can't blast all the out of bounds area, So if you go to schooI, you got the backside of Siberia. That's Unreal skiing but incredibly days, so that that's there. It's almost like swatting mosquitoes. I think it's just so much of it. So what they're going to do is on the main runs. They're gonna blast and they're gonna you know, you know, they have sonic. I think they have it squats. Kind of cool. They have these. I hope I'm not getting this wrong. They're like Sonic. Heights that you see him up around the ridge. And they pop out. They created a sound wave that blows the avalanche out without having to, um, without having to. Yeah, I hope that I hope I think it's I think they're acoustic. Yeah, I think they are. I've never seen him work. So, but again, I think this story is going to be the sharing of outta you guys. They're really doing like my house and Tommy a public your house. You got rain, But would you get like an inch and a half two inches over three days? That's no big deal. Yeah. I haven't usually keep a murdering device in the side of the house. Haven't checked it yet. So I'll go. Look at it. Yeah, you joking? I just mean you really? Of course. Yeah. What measures You went for That one, didn't you? Yeah. It was a serious you have that. You got that too? A couple years. Got one. I'm looking at it right now. Waiting. Got Yeah. We got a little bit over too. Over to over two inches. Yeah, in the North Bay. So all right. Yeah, Yeah, yeah. Yeah, because you guys would. Normally I'm something like this would be four inches five inches from the big event. It was it was, it seemed like there was more wind and rain. But if it came down pretty good and pretty steady, I mean when it started Uh, a couple of days ago. I mean, we got about 14 straight hours of rain, which, when you think about it to light now, I think that was that total on that. Incident instance was about an inch in a third. So whether nerd over here is having weather. No, You know what? You know the bigot that's actually kind of cool. You stock just traded up because I think that Zion so I think the thing I worry about the most right now, you guys, It's just It's just deal with their so the covert thing. Everybody's whatever not on regular schedules, and so what we see when the weather gets good. Somebody's going to the coast. You saw that those Issues. We had last few weeks with families and you know it because even a small day it's giant up here and scary, and so we're seeing more people at the beach. If you want to go out surfing, and you can't believe the amount of people in the water global blah, So it is in this winter months of these swells, there's something swells rolling right now. The people just people kind of put themselves in a harm ways. Endlessly and that if you think about it, that's sort of that's really, you know, Million people live in San Francisco, and they can all almost walked to the beach to where the most dangerous beaches in the world which is ocean beaches. I think at one point I was just made the most dangerous speech in the country. Because of the currents and all that. So when they have to be a downer, but I was talking high school football and look what you did he work for you. Yeah. I want to know where you were gonna keep it real and we gotta let people know like is the residents hoping you're going to Tahoe and you're gonna do some backcountry stuff? Go with people. And just be careful because this where the avalanche risk is, do not go into the back country by yourself. Please don't do crack. I gotta get going. I like that. And also, you know, the snowboarders thing is when you know the tree Well, issues get melt around the tree and I have a small board a bit and I've had issues right. One time I skied a powdered, and that's kind of a loan. It was like 3 ft Deep and I went upside down and your feet are in the You know you're clipped in, right? I literally thought I mean, I was scary. I was really scared from like about Half a minute, but it seemed like a year. Yes, I was upside down was buried in snow and I couldn't get my feet out. So it's definitely snowboarder said You're actually right. You said you guys should all go with somebody else and just don't be. Don't be stupid. Just don't go off around just because I know it looks cool and you can shock your bro's an instagram it but it's It's going to get you in trouble. You're You know, one of my best friends on. I know Steve. No, Steve fairly well, but one of my best friends and you guys don't Borghi, His brother in law, it is. Rescue does rescue up there and stuff. So he's the guy. He's actually the guy. He's a little bit goofy, a great guy, but he'll do some crazy stuff. He's the guy that goes up there and drops the dynamite. And then hauls ass on the snowmobile down the mountain. All the physical challenge as the Avalanche is coming, my God, You know what you know about that. So let's say, let's say, what's your name again? Steve Okay, let's say, Stephen, I walk into a bar, right? And we're both single right. You walk into a bar, and there's ladies in there. What do you guys do, right? TV guy, Meteorologist right eye blast. Cornice is at the top of Siberia it squad with dynamite. That is like my own snowmobile. Think about Think about how that about how that goes. Yeah, that Z didn't go well for you. No, no. We never knows Taking the picture blasts who never does never been in Italy if I had a man job like that. Oh, my God! Help you close that work for you. Just a maggot blasting cornices going up there I'd be I don't know. I have I have the truck. I'd have the whole thing. It's just envy, Scheck said. So you've got the day I'm I would trade with Steve. If I would trade my feet right now. Trade with him right now, With all right, Al Bundy, give us some more. Your high school football exploits. Yeah, I just really good crack back block. I'm somebody you want to share. Yeah, well, I do. It's a matter of fact, you could crack that back then. You know that right? Do that. Not that was encouraged. Yes. Yeah, I would've been very, very good..

"It's not snowing and Matt the floor. I thought really phrased this well when he joined Wisconsin's morning news and drive time with with Matt the floor and Larry McCarron on Thursday this week, take a listen about the floor, talking about the weather and the impact it's it's gonna have Or maybe won't have on this afternoon's game. These guys are professionals. Obviously, I do think you know, when you're not used to it. It can wake you up a little bit, but a lot of these guys that That are playing me may have come from cold weather climate so guys will be ready to adjust quickly. Yeah, You know, it's one of those situations where if we were expecting two inches of snow during the game Or if it was gonna be 10 degrees during the game, you could expect the weather to impact it and, quite frankly, impact both teams right. The Packers are more used to playing in weather conditions like that. But nobody likes playing in weather conditions like that the Packers or the Rams. It would be an advantage for Green Bay and we saw that happen against Tennessee a couple of weeks ago, and that's no game. But today's weather conditions. I just I don't think we're gonna have a huge effect. On this afternoon's game, something that will have an effect, though, in my opinion is the fact that as we bumped in with shout, they're gonna be 6000 fans in the stadium. And for the first time all season, I think there will be a tangible energy that will translate onto the field for the green and gold with years before talking about that. Absolutely. I think more people we can pack in the Lambo. The more energy that is brought with it, The more our guys will feed off that. So that is what I think is going to impact the game, not necessarily the weather. But the fans hooting and hollering and given that energy To the Packers for the first time all season when this game kicks off yet at 3 35 this afternoon Hey, Packers fans jump! Start your 2021 by making a commit.
