Chiefs vs. Chargers: Kansas City Defense Looking Weak Ahead of Sunday's Game

"All right folks will this next game that we've got Is going to be against our division rivals. The kansas talk Yeah so let's take a look at a couple of games for them. Their first game of the season was against the cleveland browns. That's who they played in the playoffs last year Let's see patrick. Mahomes put up over three hundred and thirty yards three touchdowns in that game Tyreek hill almost got two hundred yards. Goodness gracious On that game with a touchdown. And travis kelsey seventy six yards with two touchdowns so clearly we know who favor targets are guys from that game tyreek hill and travis kelsey They were pretty comparable as far as their stats go. Cleveland was able to put up a four hundred fifty seven yards. That's a big difference I think the big thing here is the rushing yards in this game in the next game. They they've put up very few rushing yards and they put up seventy two their week. One game against the browns. They put up sixty two week. Two against the ravens. So i'll and then the ravens put up to fifty and the browns put up one hundred fifty three so just looking at this and how close these games are this. Kansas city chiefs team is defense. Isn't what he was no. You can clearly see that. And i'm looking at these stance here. It looks like against baltimore. Game tyreek hill only got fourteen yards leagues. What happened here. So they've they've shut them down. While i think that's you know we put this in here to just show the fact that if we can lockdown kelsey and hill and just moderately. Stop the run. I think we're going to have a good chance and we just need to score touchdowns like you're gonna have to score thirty to beat these

"Of course there's nothing else to root former right so like i'm kinda into them now and even. Though i picked the ravens the ravens are a very very good team. They were yesterday. The bengals beat them up and they're building. That was that was actually. Even though i was dead wrong about the pick now is awesome to watch wasn't to watch and joe borough throws over four hundred yards in tamar chases like all of a sudden. He had over two hundred yards receiving yesterday and he setting all sorts of records for his first seven games as an nfl football part. The interesting thing is like why is it. That other rookies in other cities never get hurt like they just they just go out there and they go now. Joe berga hurt last year but yeah jamora chases unbelievable he surpassed anquan boldin back in two thousand and three heads yards. It is i seven career games. A player that was six hundred and twenty one for anquan boulder back in two thousand and three jabbar chase eclipse. That he has seven hundred fifty four yards in his seven games amaze me anyway back to the jets. They have cincinnati and they have to go to indianapolis now if you're watching de last night. Yeah they're getting back their shape. Yup and of course wants his plan while notwithstanding the fumble last night but they are playing well odd. Their defense is playing well and then they go to buff and then they have buffalo at home and then comes miami and miami. I don't know what to tell you. They had two games they probably should have won the last two times out and they lost to actually looked a little bit better but there were moments of these games to a guys and he just makes really bad decisions and it ends up costing the miami that they should have won the game yesterday. Should one game against the falcons going away but to really bad mistakes by him ultimately cost his team the game. Even though the falcons had come back in the fourth quarter to win the game but then comes houston and philadelphia. So i mean there are games on here that they may be able to win but i think by the time they go to houston. Yeah it's going to be david. Smells tyrod taylor would that. We'll be back under center for the houston. Texans yeah i mean houston is maybe a game that they can win and they kept it tight for like five minutes in that game against arizona and ended up getting blown out but i mean i just have no faith that until i see it and i don't know i don't even know how long zach wilson is going to be out. I mean that's another part of it you heard. Pcl was the original diagnosis. For zach wilson. So i'm not sure if that's what was the original diagnosis. I thought i saw. Pci initial thing right..

Sam Darnold's Time Is Coming

"I'm gonna start with arguably my most controversial take of the day sam darnold. What's the heartache. And if he is he gonna go sir. Not darnold in slinging. Sam darnold three year career. He's never finished inside of the top. Twenty five at the quarterback position. He's also never thrown for over thirty one hundred yards or twenty touchdowns in a year his career completion percentage sits at fifty nine percent in addition if we look at last year specifically. It's his worst year of his career. Twenty two hundred yards through the air nine touchdowns and eleven interceptions in twelve games. If your take is that sam darnold is bad like you. Just prove that. He's bad like. I don't know where you're going with this but darnold is bad. You're trying to say is gonna finish outside of qb. Thirty two sam darnold careers. Been absolutely terrible. Nobody is going to argue that including myself. It would be pretty easy for somebody to up his career as of bust in move on and in fact. Almost everybody is already done that rightfully so sam. I am one of the few people that still truly believes in you. I'm here to tell you why showtime darnold is going to finish the season as a top twelve quarterback showtime where nicknames coming from you top twelve top twelve quarterback darnold the prospect in darnold product have been polar opposite so far. But let's remember that he was a number three overall pick in the two thousand eighteen draft. He went ahead of josh allen and lamar jackson. The reason he was drafted ahead of them is because scouts were drooling over his size his arm strength and his playmaking ability on the day of the two thousand eighteen draft dane brugge a well-known senior analyst for nfl draft scout listed darnold as the clear number one quarterback in the draft. Obviously that hasn't been the case but the point that i'm trying to make is a talent was there and i know space jam to just came out and unless the monster stolas talents. I'm confident in saying that. Those talents are still in that

"I think he is the best Sophomore in the state But as far as other newcomers. I you know there was a couple of the ones i thought. You know. peers clarkson certainly Impress me this year coming on it as a sophomore quarterback at at bosko through for five hundred thirty six yards nine touchdowns zero interceptions completed. Seventy three percent of his passes also ran for over two hundred yards and a touchdown. So can't pierce clarkson's a guy that really impressed me. And other break-up guys. I saw ben. Florentine was a guy that came on for for servite at d. Line every game. I was watched him play. He made a sack. I think against bosco against modern day and santa margarita. He was always in the backfield. Making big plays ben flooring team and then of course i mentioned kingston the number twenty seven linebacker freshman for saint john bosco. He was another one. That i was impressed. Me but who was your newcomer of the year sky in the in the eternity one was a very tough one for me I kept weighing back and forth. You know. I didn't co this one. But i have a lot of automations but i ended up with pierce clarkson okay and so basically for what he said. I made like if he you know basically if i think if boston wins and he has you know maybe a couple of you know bigger plays he ends up being the mvp. I know he shared duty with with hauser of but it just seems like with his dual threat of building. He just seemed to be you know eight. I'll like we had said we talked about. How at ease you know he would roll out to offer. Run huge step back re connecting. He was nine of ten. You know up until This modern day game. He was nine of ten infers. Last with five touchdown passes so you know that that should be interesting to see where they go With with this system but as far as the rest of my newcomers you know there's you know obviously mccain was right there you know the thing with matteo yes he you know he makes playbill for me..

Exploring And engaging autism With Doctor Todd Peter Levine.

"This is when this is the brand messaging podcast. Wait what really okay today. I'm here with todd. Peter levin he happens to not be a serial killer. Actually we can make it four words. It could be a doctor. Todd peter levin Like would you like fava beans with that. Now we're now we're really going. Its silence of the. Todd's thing in all seriousness. Though because we we are going to start joking. Not todd for a while. I didn't talk to him for a while. But dr todd. Peter levin is here with me today again. This is loren wise and the title of today's episode is exploring in engaging autism with dr todd. Peter levin todd tatas is. We're not doing this. Dr stuff are we know. Please don't please call todd. Thank thanks so much for having me. No i go by todd all over the place professionally and personally so i appreciate that. That's cool and it's a little bit more laid back okay. So we met. Let's just breaking the ice or breaking back the history here. We met nine thousand nine hundred eighty five correct. That can't camp frank a day in west. Brookfield massachusetts in a yeah. It was. That was the summer that we both turned. Eleven that we're both i. Would i remember it myself. Because i can't speak for you. Awkward lanky looking for socialization may be interested in girls and Stumbling miserably over ourselves but a great place to do that. I thought you know camping canoeing. Linda cabin it was awesome. I look back. And i found one of those photos that my wife saw it was like bothers is really short shorts. Unlike not only was it. An awkward timing was nineteen eighty five. Yeah and don't forget. Don't forget the tall socks socks pulled up to your knees with stripes. You know along the top part of it. That was a big move for me. Absolutely now i before we dig into him and and he's here for autism. He is a doctor. We're going to talk about the otherness. Podcast his podcast. It's in the process of production. But were you there and this is not a rumor. A boat blew up one summer. I was there when it happened. I didn't see it but lightning struck the lake and struck the boat and there was an explosion. Was that we in the same camp that year was that a year before a year later. Do you remember that it might know because that is definitely something i remember and my because you were there a few summers before me. And then i what happened was are overlapping. Ear was the first year. I was there in the last year. You were there. So there wasn't a boat explosion but was something almost as exciting. The you know the the fireworks on the fourth of july someone you know had a roman candle you know the the the basically the two that shoots balls at out and nailed someone in the face. Where the counselors. And i have no idea. Yeah that was. That was the excitement of eighty five. I think maybe was. I don't know if it was summer. But that was the most explosive in terms of flames. And and that sort of thing. I do remember. I hadn't picked up the drums at that point but there was a cabin. I think two or one up from ours and it was a guy with the way i remember. It was a white drum set and a whole bunch of us were inside and he was drumming. And i don't know again a month necessarily gonna say it was camp david. I remember just being in awe of this. This guy in this drum said and loud and rock and roll and i don't know maybe it was that summer camp and start for me. Yeah no i do remember it. It was yeah two cabins down. I guess it was empty and the guy had a drum set and he reminded me of sort of every eighties rocker. You would have any developing eighties rocker. I remember long blonde hair. You know terminator sunglasses. Some sort of cutoff t shirt. And he's a good guy too. So yeah i remember standing watching him and or hearing from like you know two hundred yards away or more because it was loud of course so and here's a little bit more of the irony. I'm always the one in most of my podcasts. When i talk to people about podcast say you know what dig in. Don't go into crazy stories too often. Don't talk about things that people can't necessarily relate to you. But i rarely have guests much less guests that i haven't really seen and the better part of thirty five years so i'm breaking my own rule here but the leading a little bit forward here we you added me on facebook and i guess i just accepted and didn't even put two and two together a little back before we connected in the fall right so that was going back a few years. I remember the name loren wiseman and you know as as we caught up you sort of picked up. I do remember quite a few things over the years. So i remembered hearing the name. See well reading the name seeing the photo in. Of course i wasn't gonna put two and two together and say that was definitely the kid i went to camp with but i said hey in the spirit of connectedness let's do it and then what transpired from there was reading about your work in authentic messaging brand messaging and sort of putting important things out there in ways that are about the about the authenticity authority. Not about kind of gone with the fads and stuff too. So that moment. are those your post. Plus my transition in life from where i was living in rhode island to cenex were important. Wants to and as podcast idea came to me with a group of friends from college a few months earlier i reached out and the results were

The ghost is probably the spirit of Robert. Smedley, trying to find his way home now travel last six hundred fifty miles. I mentioned to San. Francisco's old hunters point shipyard originally. Originally built on six hundred thirty eight acres of Waterfront. Our story began so the dawn of July first nineteen, forty six, when the able day atomic airburst over tiny Bikini atoll took place over one hundred US military ships surrounded the island of all the vessels. It was light aircraft carrier. US Independence that the government decided to toe into hunters point shipyard intent on finding a way to decontaminate it. They also wanted to determine the potency of the radioactive contamination I. They tried sandblasting. We're left with tons of radioactive sand that had to be packed in of dump some thirty miles off the San Francisco coast next they brought in cats and dogs monitor effects radioactive poisoning on them, then placing the dead contaminated animals into barrels to be dumped into the Pacific. Finally, prisoner volunteers from nearby San Quentin prison were made to clean the ship when they died. You can only guess what happened to their remains. But that's ancient history, the grounds that made up the old shipyard or be decontaminated as soldier real estate investors, one investor reported that when crews were brought out to transient build foundations for his apartment complexes. They stopped short when they approached the side, it was overrun by cats and dogs, and a group of men, wearing vintage prisoner uniforms shuttle days later they were brought in again and found the lots and question deserted. Could the animals have been the spirits of the cats and dogs sacrificed and all those years ago, and what about the group of men were they go? So the volunteers as note of interest the US US independence began to sink before being decontaminated and. And was towed three hundred twenty eight miles out to sea at skull. How Does Night Vision Work?

"Night-vision seems like a pretty cool idea right. I mean you see it all the time in movies. Some secret agent type straps on a pair of goggles sneaks into a look jury is super villain compound and mows down enemies under the cover of darkness or the Predator. Stocks Arnold Schwarzenegger killing his platoon. One by one by one and as you're watching all this you may occasionally ask yourself. Hey do those goofy looking goggles really work? Well the answer is yes absolutely with a good night vision device or Envy D. You can see a person standing over two hundred yards or one hundred and eighty three meters away on a moonlit cloudy night and whether we're talking goggles scopes or cameras. Most of these devices rely on one or two types of night vision image enhancement. That's the green looking one and thermal imaging. Which is the bluish-gray Stuff. They both produce results but work in different ways. Thermal imaging captures the upper portion of the infrared light spectrum objects amid the as heat rather than reflecting it as light hotter objects such as the bodies of secret agents emit more of this light than cooler objects like buildings trees. Or you know dead bodies. And that's what you're seeing when you use thermal imaging essentially a measure of temperature from negative four degrees Fahrenheit two three thousand six hundred degrees Fahrenheit the magic or well you know. The science starts at the Lens which focuses the infrared light emitted by the objects in view and uses a phased array of infrared detector to create a temperature pattern called a thermographic which is translated first into electric impulses and then into data for the display where it appears as various colors. Depending on the intensity of the infrared. Then there's image enhancement. This collects tiny amounts of light including the lower portion of the infrared light spectrum and amplifies zip devices using this approach rely on an image intensified tube to collect amplify light both the infrared kind and the visible stuff image enhancers us a photo cathode to convert photons into electrons and high voltage to amplify those electrons in a micro channel plate or an MCP before they hit a screen. That's coated with foster's here's the crazy part. These electrons maintain their position. In relation to the micro channel. They passed through which provides a perfect image. Since the electrons stay in the same alignment as the original photons. When they hit the screen they're energy sites. The Fos- fers releasing photons. Those phosphorus create the green image. You see when you look through a night vision scope

"Touchdowns until Raheem the dream Moster no forty niner has ever run for more than two hundred yards in a playoff game he beat Colin Capper next record of one hundred eighty one yards it's also the single highest rushing total in forty Niners single game history right right right no it's a conference no in a conference championship game in the history of football yes No players ever run for two hundred and twenty yards the only guy whoever crested two hundred was in nineteen sixty fours AFL conference championship when Keith Lincoln of the San Diego Chargers refer to six poly keep Lincoln and then one more nobody in a half of football as ever run for a hundred fifty yards and three touchdowns in a playoff game until right he mostly so Wierd Dickerson still holds the record with two forty eight for a playoff game I think comprehensively can see where he most which was the most glamorous in spectacular post season rushing performance also so very happy for that guy and like Harvey Keitel said in pulp fiction Murphy if I'm Curt with you it's because time is a factor some moving on now to understand the vine if you guys a call to somebody stayed the vice because I got to honor the other side of the ball for the forty Niners bang bang defensive minor gang these guys are out there just rain and holy hell on any given quarterback in any given front line you want to bring in these guys have been doing it all season manhandling today we given some love in the home baby list the niner defense shot now Rogers in the first half again the fear in his eyes the lost boys in the shopping mall and Macy's where's my mom he looked terrified out there I don't give you some numbers might has is so what if I told you on Friday March nine is to be a twenty seven zip at half time you to say god yes I'll take it here you go three sacks one for Nikki boasts a B. "Kirk cousins is may he lacks the skills necessary to win big games in the postseason prove me wrong yeah less than two hundred yards passing against the saints the saints imploded in front of our eyes I couldn't believe it I wasn't even planning on watching that game I thought for sure the only game that I would have to watch on Sunday sea hawks and eagles I thought for sure that would determine who the forty Niners are going to play in the next round and instead I got one of the most entertaining games I've seen quite a long time and I saw a saints team who I held an extremely high regard because well I saw what they did to the forty Niners even in a losing effort held them in high regard and they just didn't look like they showed up to the Superdome that's the worst game I've seen drew Brees play in a very long time I'm sure there was some bad games in there I'm sure I missed them avoid national stays big time game I saw my soldier breeze in that environment he was nearly perfect any was setting NFL records in the saints offense was a well oiled machine and yes you have to give credit to the Minnesota defense it is very good it is very good their secondary is in shambles they have like three quarterbacks that are out there safety play has fallen off I'm not a big Anthony Barr guy in general middle linebacker but he has his value but that defensive line if the forty Niners are the best in the NFC well I'll point to the subtest it's wearing purple so give them credit for slowing down drew Brees but at some point you got to put it on the saints you got a look at the same to say what what happened what are you doing where where'd you go we expected one thing we did not get and somehow now we're supposed to change your opinion on Kirk cousins because drew Brees had a bad game it's not how it works Kirk cousins did exactly what Kirk cousins always does with the cabbie out that he made a really good throw it over time and over time it wouldn't have happened had the saints not had their head so far up their rear ends that they're still looking to pull it out and Alvin Kamara not forgotten how to line up had they not Reese fumbles drew Brees never fumbles had Michael Thomas not been a no show Hey Jerry cook not got locked down again credit to the Vikings defense they did some good things there and Mike Zimmer not called an absolutely perfect defensive game every coverage was perfect you know how hard that is to do to call a perfect game as a coordinator but we're supposed to change your opinion on Kirk cousins because he was the better quarterback in a game where an all time great absolutely imploded which had nothing to do with Kirk I know what Kirk cousins is the tiger stripes are well defined he didn't do anything that was out of the ordinary except with an in New Orleans and the only reason that they were one is because the saints handed them the game that offense a performance was on par with what they usually do and you can expect that offense a performance to be the exact same when they come to Levi stadium and that is not a good enough offense of performance to win it is a regressive scheme heaven semansky might be a really good offense of corner he does some really interesting stuff it's been really fun getting to watch some of it he does get to do it all that often because Mike Zimmer's always in his head set telling him to run the damn ball ball for running the ball I watch Kyle Shanahan teams you have to be running the ball it's old school power football I'm into it but it's also basic it's also not pragmatic it's not taking what the defense is giving you hi all Shanahan's running the ball to set up the past he's passing the ball to set up the run everything is a layer it is four dimensional chess the Vikings they're just running it for the sake of running it that's a wasted possession to wasted play and then you have a quarterback who in most of the time on third and long or third and unreasonable can't escape the pocket can't do anything of the pocket isn't clean and holds on to the ball for a really long time that is a recipe for failure when you play the forty Niners defense if the forty Niners defense is even playing average if the forty Niners defense gets back to anything like they were they will feast on that Dalvin cook will get his yard yeah but it is a predictable straightforward regressive offense that Minnesota runs in the forty Niners have the speed and versatility and skill up front to destroy it if they come right on the flip side of that you have Ginni grapple and my turn on Jimmy has been pretty significant but let's not forget what we thought about Jimmy coming into the year at least what I thought about you becoming into the he was he was a risk he was a liability you didn't know what the hell he was gonna do on any given play it was feast or famine and good Jimmy and bad Jimmy fighting it out they were the two Jimmy's on the shoulders one says draw pick the other one says throw one of the best throws you'll ever see in your life and they were just constantly at war well good Jimmy's when an apple bad Jimmy we don't hear all that much anymore it somewhere in the back of our minds don't we all feel like man that could turn or building it up first playoff game ever for Jimmy arrival well Kerr cousins he just won a playoff game he has all the experience of the world because he won one is now one and one in his career by the way Jimmy grovel he's never done it before he couldn't possibly match the poise and confidence of Kirk cousins imagine he's gonna show up because it's the playoffs it's a whole different kind of pressure I don't subscribe to it you know why because I was in Seattle in week seventeen I was in New Orleans last month no they aren't literally playoff games you could have fooled me those games had everything on the line no the season one of and it had they lost it wasn't real do or die it wasn't real winner go home but damn there were moments when you could convince me it was there really were that was stressful and those were to those those two games are grapple as best games straight up he was absolutely outstanding he wasn't the best quarterback on the field in in Seattle but he was awesome he was absolutely awesome and the only not that you can have on the guy is that well he didn't throw it perfectly he didn't leave his receivers one hundred percent perfectly on that throw I mean I was really net tech and when I was looking for bad stuff to talk about with Jimmy grapple after that Seattle game he was nails goes down to the Superdome in New Orleans and the saints are given on the business they let it half time how the hell they pull that off rob Lowe was nails in Kyle Shanahan basically said the same thing today in his press conference he was he was he was going on about I'm not concerned about parabolas number one thing I'm not concerned about it being his first playoff game I can't blame can't blame whatsoever Jimmy grapple might not have played a playoff game yet but he's been in big leverage high stress moments and those are the moments he thrives because he has that little extra something that Kirk cousins lacks he has the ability to go off schedule Kyle Shanahan might actually hate it passing him loves the schedule he spends all week look just laboring sweating grinding yelling sleeping on the couch in his office coming up with the perfect game plan and sometimes grapple messes that up let's be real he would sometimes prefer Kirk cousins who will never deviate from the script but you know what like Mike Tyson said everyone's got a plan until you get punched in the mouth and playoff football that's basically just two dudes throwing haymakers at each other it each other's jaw that's how play football goes we seen it first hand this year first time in awhile we've recognized it but we know playoff football when we seen it go Rapallo has the ability to get it done that's why he just wins doesn't make sense most of the time but all he does is win because when the going gets tough he gets going and what's her cousin's doing those moments fades and that's why he always loses and one game where he made one good throwing otherwise with the exact same Kirk cousins we've always seen one game where the other quarterback found a way to be worse than him it doesn't change anything tiger doesn't change its stripes we know the stripes on both of these guys all right we're gonna talk to Jay catch instead of cambiar dot com a little bit later on in the hour west Goldberg of the bay area news group about the war years just after the top of the hour your calls and texts as well it away KMB are is the number my wrong on Kirk cousins and I might in my down playing his ability to much are you nervous about these Minnesota Vikings because honestly the further I go into it the more convinced I am that the forty Niners are gonna roll talk me down talk me off this point eight await KNBR listening BR tonight on KNBR sports leader here you can cross the first project off your twenty twenty to do list early by painting your "Six what more could be when we need to say it's just it's amazing customers twenty Bester here sure I said Marshall it's not bad for running back ravens with their eight game this season with two hundred yards rushing that's the most of the season since nineteen seventy eight when the patriots and chiefs both that the ravens have three thousand seventy three yards rushing this season ninety three yards away from breaking the single season team record held by the patriots about nineteen seventy eight season ravens also match their franchise record with thirteen regular season wins but and they run the table in the post season even with home field advantage earlier on game night here on ESPN radio they're totally beatable they're absolutely beautiful they have no wide receivers this is a team that can't play from behind Lamar Jackson is an average thrower of the football when they play for my head and they can run and run and run some more then they look like a bully these unbeatable book who's a wide receiver on the scene they have Willie Snead their marquees brown they've Seth Roberts I'm sorry that's not though that's not a star studded group if this if you can get a ten to fourteen point lead on the ravens they're totally beatable and their pass rush I think is is something that comes and goes so I'm I'm not a believer in their pass rush I think Kansas city can beat him I think New England can beat him I think the forty Niners can beat him I as far as we'll any these teams beat them if they're run games dominating I mean totally dominate you have to be able to stop the run that's where it starts but if you get a lead I think they're totally beautiful John Harbaugh after the game you can't resist it Lamar Jackson set a franchise record with thirty six touchdown passes not bad for a what it's not bad for running back and I know everybody laughs about dental although this you Rachel the thing is I'm not sure that is not the best running back in the league even though he plays quarterback I look at him and it is a bad thing because I think they're being playful just because that was a narrative last season that's all everyone talked about in here he is doing both yeah maybe he's not the best quarterback as far as his arm is concerned but he's he's much better than we saw him last season able being able to use his arm so I think it's funny because he's walking the walk and talking the talk you know he wasn't having a successful season then it wouldn't the joke would have landed flat but I mean he can laugh all he wants because he's about to be the MVP there's no doubt in there's not even I don't even know who's maybe Russell Wilson's in second place you look very good today is gonna fall down the stretch a little bit but it's not even close the more Jackson is the MVP of the NFL ravens with her thirteenth regular season when matching a franchise record and a secure home field advantage throughout the AFC ravens will have that home field advantage and one thing we learned Sunday night the chiefs could still wind up with a first round bye for now walks into a slot left quickly busters the cheese three stores to lead sixteen no nothing retreating figure one and select for fourteen quick cascade choose to the bears field goal the touchdown when when the fox chiefs radio network the talk of course leading up to the Sunday night game in Chicago was the bears with Majid risky against the chief said the quarterback for the bears could have drafted Bedford homes leads the way for Kansas city to a twenty six to three win over those bears my home is two hundred fifty one yards passing two touchdowns no interceptions fifteen this season with multiple touchdown passes and zero interceptions after the game be it brushed off the what if scenario well I mean I think anyone that that goes about it and as a competitor wants to be the first guy but you know that you know there's a process to it and you do not everyone's good can be take first and ended up in a great situation in Kansas city situation where I wanted to be at a organization that does kind of taking me and then maybe the best player that I could be at this time and so I'm I'm I'm just excited that I'm here now and I was able to go out there and find a way to win a football game she's allowed three points on Sunday that allowed three points in each of the last two games else what three sacks right guard had one arm shell still caught up with them I just feel like which doesn't cause process right now you know a lot of you know in to see the you know a lot of stuff going on you know on the playoff stuff so is trying to keep it all in house trying to keep the focus on the task at hand every game of the championship game mentality and I'm just people you know we live in a bad spot early in the year which is given off and thought I was the unit is still going to be at this point we all came together it's real sucks combined to put under duress early in this game tell you tell me about your new TV what kind of impact see making a future hall of Famer you know it is it is a privilege younger myself also young five years you know compared to seventeen this young you know I mean and I'm just a guy like him a lot not as he brings in you don't experience it again to make it easier on all of us on now I do wish you congratulations because you do not want your season at the Pro Bowl dangerous January it's like fifteen on your side I got the best quarterback in the league you know on the best offense in the league in office it just covers are different so well and I feel like that's one of the things that came together you know it's just a whole team effort when offices aren't you know when a possession time of possession they want to forget on Jan first down conversions and you know just make it easier on a different like I said you know it's always so much work we can do we try to play forty played today I don't know but you know have trucks often that moving to change it you know everything's come together on holidays this is Frank hopefully this is the gift that keeps on giving about it happy holidays I love you all now we coming back home sense one game at a time she's winning in Chicago and Chicago despite the loss rocking out to a little lamb the last Christmas trees allowing fewer than ten points in three of their last four games for Kansas city their fourth twenty point when the season there most of the season since twenty thirteen sports center all night ESPN radio and what's the big question marks as we head toward the postseason who's going to come out of that NFC east division five for straight talk ready by straight talk wireless two contenders for the NFC east matching up on Sunday and it's our sports center all my game today this is the biggest of course with his career this is the latest in any season of the game with this much meaning to be played with his career press likes to play a physical style doesn't expect to make compromises telling me they want so between those lines that's the competition switch that comes on ready to go regarding the team castle in a simple as that from the field to the fans press with a friend so thanks let's look let's fires born in August it was out of accessible for awhile now and you can see the sense of belief each of these guys I believe it was the day tremendous guide exactly thirty shown is that he can play functionally this is a missing throws I mean I can't say I have pain or something my shoulder could be a maybe a lack of rest this week from those wasn't definitely how I was much shorter when anything else filling Fokker your go for two point conversion the aspect of that called the there's a lot of different things that can happen based on what they play and they play a particular from we can get to that place if they play another from a different place in that situation Jake and I got the ball number time to do is just need a little bit of a rest there so we came out one of them to do in the first few for the five division we can do he is one of our business is Michael Gallo one on one and take their shot at it I had an opportunity a little better job in both of our hands and right there to to make the playoffs wins close to center they can what does it mean and I think that's something that our team understands each week now you know starting a couple weeks ago every week with a playoff game otherwise we're going to hold a full week yeah our seasons not not done now we got another week left over there our team understands that we get it we get another division opponent on the road a chance to continue our season to be ready again say the least yes the lego now no one facing our feel like we want anything we gotta go prove it again and works out for and they're excited on sports radio ninety four W. I. P. in Philly as the eagles get the win over the cowboys seventy denying taking sole possession of the division for the first time this season and for the cowboys first week this season without at least a share of the NFC east lead ESPN analyst Ryan Clark they they learn what I thought they learn to what I knew they were in full with two hundred and fifty yards last week against the Los Angeles rams they would be the early only thirteen carries a now but seeing that has been playing by being killed by if you don't want to be on the sideline against these quarterback that would suspect all year this is the oversight by these called his name is ray this team is judging this team and I have no faith in the sink I think his coaching staff that they can get this thing done in any type of manner is accidentally because when they put their best foot forward it's not the foot that wins the game but to trust the eagles on the road it took them over time in a flawless fourth quarter and overtime of from Carson Wentz to beat the New York Giants manning is so going into the last week this is supposed to be the big game of the season for for the division championship against the top two teams and their sole sorry it still doesn't decide eagles win the division next week with a win at the giants or Dallas laws against Washington cowboys need both of those things happen they need to be Washington and have Philly to lose against the giants straight talk wireless everything for less only at Walmart a big missed opportunity in the Big.

Don Johnson on His New Film 'Knives Out'

"This is popcorn where we tell you what's happening at the movies and there's a movie now that is a WHO Dunnit of sorts but to me. It's the most fun that I've had at the movies movies this year. It's called knives out. And one of the stars is my guest today. Don- Johnson here especially little torture chamber. We Ah the black inside the black kind event also. Well people confess when they sit in this chair. I'll tell you anything anything. Anything he wanted to unburden yourself on. This is a you know I'm I'm ready. I'm ready to just leave. Just push the button. Okay Yeah who did it. No I is a movie that actually begins with the murder but it's not like we know anything well. The interesting thing is is that in the first ten ten minutes you see the actual death actual murder you see and so without knowing without knowing what you're meant to see or what what what you know there. And then you spend the next COUPLA hours having a blast watching these incredibly beautifully flog people entitled I really it just Hilarious it's Christopher amherst character that murdered right and he's having his eighty fifth birthday and yes this all star cast including you. I looked at that movie into any one of these bastards could adopt. Yeah that cast. Is You know the the interesting thing that happened. Is that when we got together to make this movie. It all came together pretty fast and we we arrived in. We shot out of south side of Boston towards Wellesley in this in that house in a big mansion. Yeah and and We all had these new enormous trailers not more than two hundred yards away from the house. we never used them. All we did was as we go downstairs in the basement of this house and we'd picked a room a lot like this a lot more friendly but I had a little more humor to it not much but we would sit around and tell stories about the movies. We'd done it asked you know I'd asked Daniel Daniel Daniel Craig about you know what. Tell me about that stunt and tell me what you know about about this and that and he had asked me about things that that We had done Christopher plummer summer and and I've known Christopher for a long time we we held down a couple of barstools and in San Francisco. I'm not shocked. And that and Jamie Lee Curtis who plays. You're pissed. Oh she he's still see. Well I worked out pretty well because she plays my wife and the thing and I showed up for work she started bossing me around and I said okay. Why not and captain? America's your son Chris Evans. Yeah this normal. Sure everybody's just hanging out there that hey birthplaces and there's a lot of movies that I see sometimes where I think the actors actors are having a great time. But I'm not in this case it's red from what you guys were doing to the audience when we see I know it's infectious. It really is. Yeah and that's harder actually think you know the the the the extraordinary extraordinary thing about this We didn't have a table read. We didn't rehearse we just showed up on the first day and you no. It's not an uncomplicated. No people have to and so we showed up on the first day. And we we start to go and I and and I hit a I hit the tone that I think is right. and Lo and behold Jamie Lee tosses the ball back to me and Scott the same tone and then we started to roll and everybody else sort of you know did their thing and we kind of brought that sense of joy in and in the moment to the to the to the to the To two knives out and I think that that's what you feel. I think that that joy in that fun kind of ride is what you feel like. You're lifted up. But it has a very contemporary temporary kind of spin on it. Yeah you should explain Richard who is a bit of a rat bastard. Yeah well they're they're all horrible people there are they are but he. He is kind of the personification of the Great. I loved him because he doesn't do. Anything doesn't have a job. AUB doesn't do anything he just you know. He's the personification of entitled because he lives off of His wife in the family and all that stuff I sort of played him like a like a one of those country club sizes. Just kind of walking around with half a buzz on over time. It is whatever you want but yeah people you need to see this. And when they do they can thank us for it. I can thank you. You're welcome. You're welcome bureaus. It's a good time and then I have to bring this up too because it's so great is watchman on HBO. You know I've seen you do a lot of great things things right from the beginning. You know even Miami Vice where when people think of it now and they think of how you're dressed and the style that you had and the suits the cheese and the t shirts and the whole deal no socks yeah started a complete fashion trend but that was a really good show. Yeah I was a little ignoring by in the beginning when there's Oh it's just fluff at style over substance and I was going well not so fast you know we we managed to get had some you know a golden globe. And you're gone. What does that mean? It's true But yeah no I've I've been fortunate in that I've had some Some meaty parts get to play over the years and I just think I mean you'll show Abo thing is is is ah trip. Sorry to interrupt with that Help the the the the writer creator of Damon Lindelof was I think I gave him his first job on Nash Bridges. You don't quite remember no way I mean I know that I I saw now I see. Yeah Yeah and then he went on of course to To do lost and forgiving him. No no no. He's true they should. I should be getting away. From all guys Sean Ryan and Carlton Carlton Cues and all the I mean. So many people came out of that That little incubator. I had gone up there. Those shows Nash Bridges and Miami. I swear long running shows which you're playing cops and I remember hearing you do an interview once and said I'm done with that you know and here you are as sheriff drugged God. You Judge Judge for judge hanging around the hanging around. But there's something in that role on. I know I get killed if I say anything too much about it but you know we probably both would. Well you'd be specially killed but I don't know how you get killed yeah to do this. But it's such a wonderfully complex charming character Thank you might have many many other level the NFL. What's happening? Yeah well when I see an emmy nomination for that too in your future Oh bless your heart. Don't vote for the Emmy Okay. So it's useless. I think you know every listen every reality start somewhere with a rumor. Okay talk to John. You heard it here therefore I give you know I'm not getting it's make it happen. Yeah that is a lot of fun to do too because it was. I didn't have a character who can be sitting at a family dinner and get up and do Rogers and Hammerstein and make everybody feel. I WANNA be around this guy. It was just very ballsy and Fabulous to what you know. That's the way I felt about it because Damon column. He wrote me this beautiful letter and of course if you want an actor's attention you just write him a letter and tell him how great he is and you've got his undivided attention. I guaranteeing I don't care who it is. It's like Kryptonite right. You know. Start Bragging on an actor and telling them how great they are. They'll do anything and I fell victim to that. He came in. Yeah Yeah you're the God. And so he Lewis. Is this Lewis right walk on. I love it but he asked me to come in and he told me he kinda told me that story. The sort of long grades plans for for watching it. I don't think he wanted to scare me off so he didn't. He didn't tell me the whole thing but he told me enough and I and I kind of felt like well. I'm in on the joke and I like that. You know and and I also think that it's an interesting thing to have My fans wouldn't expect it no one expects and it's kind of A. "First half he was sixteen to twenty five for two hundred and three touchdowns that accurate yeah I think that's right you know that's that's a pretty good half would be double that that would be a game you know and so that's one of the things that I think you know our guys what they really focused on is winning they don't care about the other things but that's that's one half of football so sometimes when you look at that compared to some of the guys from the country you know you'd say well he he only threw for two hundred yards I only put one half of football you know JK Dobbins runs for ninety yards really put one half of football so but that's that's it's a good thing and and and I know that those guys are proud of the way they played in and so we and final question Sir third row there Dan Ryan what do you think it is about this team that's allowed you guys to just come out week in and week out with the same level of energy to be able to get on teams like this even in a week like this where maybe you had some unexpected adversity well I think that there's there's great leadership I think their coaching staff doing a good job we can we got a pair in these guys they were playing with an edge and you know we we have to continue to bring it each week and we have to challenge the guys to do that and we know what happens if if you don't know if if you don't bring it every week you know you can really see yourself a jammed up and so you know we have to make sure that they were bringing it each week but but again I think it goes back to our leadership and you know this is a team here it was fifty to fifty one last year and an absolute you know fight to the fourth quarter and I think our defense was tired of hearing about that for a year so those were fresh in their minds and I think we had a lot of respect for the steam coming into the game because of that game that we played last year and so we we started fast and I thought we played well throughout the game coach I'm sorry one more over here to the right place you alluded to it a little bit how was chase doing what's his state of mind right now yeah he's he's taken it day today and he knows that he has the support of his teammates and is going through a tough time but again it adversity you know reveals character and I can tell you right now he's a special young man that detained on his business the right way the world problem coach the I. comments of Ryan day we have a lot to react to with those comments about chase young will update you on that and some of the other things he said also big game going on LSU and Alabama will put you on that right now the let's get you home from the game traffic a service of white wine Ohio how are we doing in our traffic coming home from the game is smooth in both directions on three fifteen on the north side traffic is slow one seventy one south on that's what we have an injury accident at the cook road ramp their topic is fine on six seventy east bell between three fifteen and Neal Avenue watch for an accident on summit street just north of seventeenth Avenue traffic is a service of white flight of Ohio IBM Darling on newsradio six ten WTVM wait are you saying wings and burgers at the only things you try to glory days grill.

Quick-hit thoughts on the Patriots' win over the Bills

"Patriots sixteen to ten win over the bills in Orchard Park. The bills made this a game after a very slow start but there would be no magic when Barkley Barkley replaced an injured Josh Allen Greg who bravely locked up the Patriots in this kind of didn't see a lot of offense on display in Buffalo. No you asked you know going into this game. The bills make a statement or did the Patriots do Patriot. I guess it's both because the bills made a statement they made Tom Brady look worse than any has in in a long time. This was his lowest passer rating since two thousand six in a game. It's the most passes he's ever thrown in a game without getting to two hundred yards didn't even get close closely at one fifty. He was under fifty percent completion. They had seven drives where they went three and out they had only a couple apple more where where they got one first down they did nothing offensively and late in the game they were inside the five yard line with a chance to go up to scores and and they smartly kicked a field goal and I thought that was bill belichick saying this bills defense is is too good for us. We need to just go up six points. That's the kind of defense buffalo played but they get a special teams touchdown they knockout Josh Allen in the fourth quarter and they do a lot of things defensively on their own to get the Stop ATM in my tracks the decision fourth and goal to go for it because it feels like a patriots thing that they would go for it and since the moment but you're right they had that much faith the defense which they should be doing defense is incredible and the bills just weren't moving the ball. I mean you locked up New England but if someone had told me that you would have held Tom Brady eighty two three point eight yards per attend sub Gabbard so if you would have given up only sixteen points to this offense and if Frank Gore would have run for one hundred and nine yards at six point four yards spur Kerry I would have plucked up the bills. I would've thought they're going to find a way to they're not an explosive offense but find a way to get seventeen points. I mean the difference was the punt return touchdown. The Patriots scored the Patriots offense only scored ten bills offense scored ten and the Patriots Defense was very lucky to hold the bills to only ten because the bills did do a better job especially in the second half moving up and down the field but the situational defense that the Patriots have especially in the red zone with Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy and everything that they can do was really special today. You're tipping your tap. Your tipping your cap to a good bills defense and a well coached team. But how much of this does it raise any red flags for are you on the Patriots offense. It's a long season. I said going into this game. I didn't think their offense was nearly up to speed their offensive line. got pushed around. I think this the bills defense had a great plan for them. I mean yeah they have to be. They're going to be a different team in December one way or another whether they're better or worse. They're going to be totally different the fact that they we're able to sneak out a win was

"We could push him into phase I like to look. in front of seventy thousand people and I watch that game and looked a bit well I am returning kickoffs. the lions only had like two hundred yards of the eagles played very well yeah the in then at the end I don't know if you guys saw but. V. the eagles try to give time feel go ahead upon returning those upon return and they were turned it down like the ten yard line fifteen your lan whatever was a call for a block in the back it was a brutal is a bad call back lazily align with stand here they just kind of turned his back late in the guy kind of bumped into a red hold us like you got to be kidding me called that so I think that game was a little goofy and that the eagles were the better team in that game obviously they didn't win but when you have some like that happen and you give up a kick return which I think that was the first kickoff return this year it's just that many of them anymore lot of Madonna get returned it'll be interesting because. how does the young yesterday about Aaron Rodgers in how the Packers are winning but the offense isn't quite clicking just quite yet the running games good writers but okay but not what you expect Rogers for touch them yeah but the defense has been really really good and the eagles like I said they look better last week then the score would. would indicate and. this is one. I'm gonna be intrinsic that would be inclined to take the eagles in this game just because the eagles are desperate mother got her I think city eagles yeah like I think the Packers everybody wants to win games I think the eagles need to win this one you go to one and three you're in deep trouble and if you're the Packers and you lose this one somehow it's three in one do you still good gave you the no worries for does great of course but three and one is that's just fine so this is this kind of my want verse in need game where they've been pretty once it the eagles need this one of the band that the Packers don't need it for yeah I was just about to say I was getting for from my vote Packers will keep talking about that Phil Steele Greg Cosell would join us in the next hour war the lego shading as far as how many regular season games will in a full players play starting in twenty twenty that has begun and you will finally find out exactly how toll your favorite NBA player is what is it about the facts and more or next on the toll bridge Krueger and broke show we reschedule I like agarrar ski.

It's just a nothing nothing too crazy about it. But I did get apex trigger on it, man. And that thing is crispy. We were shooting two hundred yards with my pistol. So. It's crazy. And it was very, very accurate. Yeah. I was shoot you should have flat trigger. If you flat trigger guy. Yeah. So apex flat further flat trigger. Sometimes the better triggers, just don't offer a flat. But I do prefer flat trigger. It's just I get a little bit more control out of it, personally. That's what I like about gun. These days, you can really change change out, whatever you want to kind of fit your shooting style. But yeah, I prefer sheet steel I got a bunch of action target steel targets set up out back. I live right next door to Travis. So he's got the perfect spot to kinda shoot at 'cause like all the jump, you know, landings you know you can just shoot into them. Yeah. They're all that really tall dirt. So it's perfect backstops. So I just set up a couple of steel targets and Plunkett, those all day man, it's a good time. Do. That's. Yeah. Haskell's nightmare and windows, but also racket and lisp like imacs for Lisbon, you know, lily maximum windows is a joke. Leo laporte. The tech guy. Eight ask Leo v phone number Jim on the line from Windsor, Colorado. Jim. All right. Let's talk to you. Glad to talk to you. Welcome got an unusual problem. Always worries me when I hear that I live in the neighborhood of about fifty houses, and they're all within about a two hundred yard radios. And I'm looking to see if there's some kind of a wifi transmitter that I can set up at one of the houses that I could pick up wifi from my smartphone anywhere in the neighborhood. So you'd like to wire the neighborhood is this something you're doing with your neighbors. You just for you know, not wire the neighborhood. I wanna be able to use my smartphone. Unwired the neighborhood. I guess well, okay. I should explain why. Okay. We've got we've got four we've got irrigation systems. And we have four separate controllers and each one guy maybe fourteen fifteen zones, and we've the we love these WI fi systems, but they require cell coverage. So we walk around with our smartphones. And we can turn on any zone from anywhere in the neighborhood. So we can a monitor their action, you know, and make sure they're working properly. But the cells have to be on the WI fi. Well, the way our we have a system in place. Now that's becoming obsolete. And this one is connected through servers somewhere. We suspect out in your state to this. So that we can operate it using our smartphones, of course, through the the sailor system. What do you have what do you have a Racha? What is it that you're using? Well, that's what we're looking at getting rich. Yeah. It's a different brand. And they're actually fairly familiar with the Rach ios. Okay. Okay. Looking at putting in four separate Rach ios because they're you know, the the the controllers are located. We would buy four new ones Rach ios install them in four separate locations in the neighborhood. But we need to be able around anywhere, and and you know, have access to the various controllers. So do we need to set up a a router near each controller? Or that? Another were the pride. This is. I think a question for Recchia support. And there by the way, they're very good. My guess is that only that the Rach ios communicate with one another on their own network. And that if you can talk to any one of the Rach ios. Actually, there's a control unit if you could talk to the control unit the control unit, we'll talk to the separate units on their own private network. That's generally how this kind of thing works because they understand that there's going to be a control unit near your home. But that the sprinklers and the units are going to be spread out over a larger area that may not be able to connect via wifi. Yeah. That's the way our present system works. Yeah. Branch in provide. I guess we should find out. Yeah. Whoever provided it, but I I'm guessing here because the system I have is all within my WI fi pretty much, but I'm pretty sure that I only need to be within WI fi of the control unit, and then it controls the other devices itself, they have their own private network. That makes sense. And so wherever you're going to have that control center. That's the one that needs to be on your wifi. But as we walk around that I'm going to be farther..

"Keep till was somebody's very familiar. Join ataman. He's very physical defensive bear has been trash talking on one end of that for sure. Is this a match up that you'd think it keeps might get the upper hand or do you still think elemental have a good game? Impassively be a great performer on Sunday say Elon get to lease fifteen throws to him. I think he gets seventy catches. But I don't I'm not gonna say he's good. We'll see you till the lineup on him and shadow him one on one I probably in a couple of plays. I just hope they go to tone than they're in trouble. I no one's to go off on them. Because Brady knows how to tear up zone defense. So I think man to man is probably the way to go against the Brady team. And but I still think at Alinsky get the ball out. But I don't think it's gonna be like a hundred sixty yards to touch it'd be like seven catches for fifty yards and just be crucial catches for first downs. You know, what if the defense can flood zone only rush three or four players at Brady and get pressure and then put seven or eight guys zone. Would that be like, I know what you're saying? What if though I know you're seeing this zone, you'd think that is probably not the best of I've just seen it. Over and over again that Brady tears that apart. Brady knows what when to throw because he loves those short passes in the zone. Like he like short passes are perfect resume defense. Because they're just quake inaccurate. And they get first downs. That's what Brady loves to do. So if you push those guys off on the in the front right off the bat in man-to-man. Maybe he doesn't do those free passes right away. My question facing daily fantasy owners on Sunday. And I think we can both agree on this. The biggest question is the Todd Gurley conundrum. I that's the biggest question because he has the ability to be. An MVP of this game. He has ability to get two hundred yards rushing on his best day. Like, we all know that he can go off. But we also know that he is probably hurt. He hasn't been the same guy over the last six weeks. He was before. And. You have to kind of wrestle with that as a fantasy football daily fantasy football player this weekend ammo, aren't I going to play Todd Gurley in if I do my captain because we know that is a big commitment. And yes that is a risk. But the reward is great. If it works out, I'm playing him. But I'm not making my captain. There's too many questions it saved a play plan not safe enough to put him my captain. It's just too much risk for me. There's too many question marks. And I don't like question marks. I don't like the Riddler from Batman. Do you get any question you like playing that type of daily fantasy? Not really to be honest with you. But I mean, I understand why it's thing makes sense. Because if you have a guy that gays gives you all the points, you like men, I wish other people would have came up big time for me, and then he can make up for those kind of points. I get that the showdown mode. Yeah. Makes sense. And it's appropriate for a Super Bowl. Yeah. It makes a lot of sense. Just because I mean like you said like there's only one game..

"Three. Welcome back to coast to coast AM Richard Sarad coming to you from coasts in-depth, Eric Toronto Canada affiliate in-depth radio. News talk ten ten Shelley nieces with us the author of the copper scroll project before we get to another one of these central characters in this amazing story, Jim Barfield. Let's to circle back for a moment to John allegro. Who was the first to sort of decipher the the message on the copper, scroll this incredible treasure map. So what happens? I mean. I mean, obviously, he's not able to to excavate what happens and why? So he wasn't able to excavate injuries on the Temple Mount. Which is a story that will keep you know, that will keep being forbidden ground for the next decades till now, but he does one of the second lines or the second locations in the copper, scroll describes the copper scroll begins in the fortress, which is in the valley of a core. And then it goes on and say in the sepulcher monument, so John regrow identified a site called hair, Kanye, which is somewhat similar to Masada, you know, more famous in Israel. But it's basically it's one of the Herati unfortunate says that is on the top of a mountain Judean desert that. Herod had built himself. You know in case the Jews ever rebelled against him. He could hide away and luxury on the top of the mountain until the rebellion was defeated. So here Konya with the location that had never been excavated. And it was one that John Allegra had identified that. It was probably the fortress in the valley of a core that that his translation was pointing to and so he did actually excavate at her Tanya. He excavated the top of the mountain. And like I said, he's not he wasn't an archaeologist. So he proved to not really have the patient, endurance. I think people had have magic archaeology is a little bit sexier than it actually is in reality, which is really hot long long days, you know, and and really just painstaking and so. He hurry the process, and he didn't he didn't excavate the site like a professional. What have or someone would have today? But he cleared buckets of sediment from from the top of the mountain before he left the site. You know, and he has media has pressed like he's kind of been promising something big and fast to those people that are there following him into his volunteers. And what he finds that actually at the base of her Konya were tunnels that had been filled in with two thousand years of sediment that had blown in or had you know, there's lots of flash floods in the area. And so it's pretty easy for those tunnels that have been filled in by debris over that to millennia. But he actually sees something in those tunnels because the copper scroll also mentioned the steps entering to the east and the tunnels were eastward facing. And this was the portrait of the valuable of. So he kinda puts all these clues together. And he thinks that the tunnel is might be waiting to copper's called treasurer. And he excavates he does take out this tons and tons of sediment. But eventually even for those two there were two tunnels two hundred yards apart eventually for both of those tunnels. He's gonna realize that it's dangerous. You know that the further down the tunnel and kind of imagine it cuts into the mountain in the same way entries into the Egyptian pyramids. Do. It's like at a thirty five degree angle down. So the further you go down and the Friday getting into the earth them are dangerous. It becomes that. It might collapse on top of you. And also just the less oxygen. You have the less light. And so that more dangerous, and so he actually abandoned the task. Later on. I let grow we'll be retired and he'll be living in England. And actually, a crazy crazy pilot airline pilot and American well read a Legros account and just be you know, mystified that allegro could have left those tunnels excavated in certain that he was onto to the right spot. And so he will frequent Israel and secretly dig out those tunnels for the process of fifteen years of process of a decade, really. And then he'll he'll Benchley that's up to the Israeli antiquities thirty of what he's doing that. He'll secretly and covertly get keep excavating the tunnels for years. How is it possible? How is it possible to secretly excavate something like that? This is a huge undertaking. Totally. So he was doing it all by himself, which is super dangerous. It is it's the it's the part of the day and desert. You know, there's nobody there's no communities there. There's no one living there, just you know, bedouin might realm that area, but otherwise he would whether or not, you know, he would be fine through Israel. You know, he's airline pilots. So he was able to take to get there pretty quickly, but he would rent a car drive the car as far as he could. And then after walk the rest of the way on foot for Konya is actually an Israel defense forces. It's it's a firing range they practice military exercises out there. So lots of times he would have to hide in the tunnel during the daytime to be out of sight, and then using lights and other things would dig at night. I it's kind of an insane story. His name was Bob Morgan eventually though, it's going to be harder for him to get oxygen. You know, it's harder for him to he realizes that. He can't do it alone. And he approaches the Israel. He approaches Hebrew University. And and finds an Israeli archaeologist named orange gut failed and Orrin got feld with young at the time. And just seems like it seems like something worth going to check out. And so he went and saw the tunnels, and he sees that along the, you know, these very unusual tunnels. I mean, what are they leading to? No, one can say, and he sees what? Bob Morgan's done. He sees what John Allegra started. And and there's little oil niches along the walls. I mean, just everything that would just sort of teas and archaeologists to want to know, what was it the end of that tunnel. He never said that he was digging. Archaeologist would never say that they're digging for copper scroll treasure that makes them look like a treasure hunter instead of an art gallery. So you never said the copper school related but own got filled. We'll spend the next eight Dixie then so over the course really of another. Ten years excavating those tunnels until he gets to the end and at the end, it was a dead end. So all of that time all of that work three different men all haunted by the copper scroll in their own way. Excavate they her cutting tunnels thinking that only the copper scroll treasure and made that end I've met with orange got Valdez friend at this point. And he he he says that he couldn't speak for days after Donald set ended. This is all starting to sound a little bit like the treasurer of oak island. Dead ends in it and so forth. But by the by what is the estimated value of the treasure that, we're talking about is Kennedy even be quantified. No, no, you really you. Can't you can't put a price tag on it, especially since we're talking about potential temple furniture and vessels. But just the precious metal alone. I mean, we're looking at gold around thirteen hundred dollars an ounce US, and we're talking about tie tons and tons my word. Okay. So when. When does this retired firefighter from Oklahoma City Jim Barfield, enter the the race for the copper scroll treasure. Right. So Jim Barfield is he's such a unique character. And I mean at this point I've been following his story for a decade of my life. And so at once, I think in the beginning, you know, I tried to write this story is an investigative journalist. But try to you know, following someone closely for ten years and not feeling, you know, like an attached cheerleader. And so yes, so he Jim Barfield as a retired arson investigator from Oklahoma. What makes them really interesting is that you know, he'll self deprecating lot and say that you know, he has no formal education and the only letters behind his name or to you know, that he's certified to drive a fire truck. But in reality, he's like someone that I've never known before in terms of just very self educated. His studied studied the Dead Sea scrolls in the firehouse whenever he was even just a young firemen and and killing time either on the buyer tracker. The fire house. He would be studying the Dead Sea scrolls, which you know, is not not a normal human story. But he, and so he was actually very bored by the copper scroll because you know, there's nine hundred other debts, you scroll menu scripts to study all of which either from the bible work ancient commentaries on the bible or ways that this sectarian sex lived at Combe run since super fascinating, an interesting, the copper schools, a dry ends, and Tori, so it didn't have any spiritual significance for him. And so he never really gave the copper scroll much thought. But over the course of time he started to do something he called the messiah time line. And so he would read the Dead Sea scrolls, and he would plot the date that it mentioned the Dead Sea scrolls talk about the foundation of their own community. We'll give other historical points. And so he. Plot them on a time line chronologically, and then he would read the bible, and he would do the same with the bible and with prophecies, and he was just trying to figure out if he could use his messiah timelines at that point out sort of events that would roll out like the destruction of Jerusalem and other things that the prophets were pointing towards and he met with VIN diesel Jones Bendel Jones is the the most famous in the most controversial of all of the copper scroll. Doozy's then have the perhaps the inspiration for Harrison Ford's character of Indiana Jones. Exactly, exactly. So Bendel Jones is a unique character in his on. Right. 'cause there's buck, but any sense passed away. But then they'll Jones. Search for copper scroll treasure for thirty years. And and so it was suggested to Jim to meet with Bendel John's to show him his messiah timelines just as a point of reference for the Dead Sea scrolls. Well, then they'll John's live eats and breathes, the copper scroll. So he actually didn't care much about them time line. He just kept telling him over and over how important the copper, scroll was and how actually that the copper scroll gave more history and more context than any of the other that cease girls, and and so really after that meeting. Jim Barfield went home, not with any particular interest in and the sites that vandal Johns had been looking at in Israel for coverage pro-tiger tiger. But just sort of reinvigorated to look at the copper, scroll, what's some intention and the way he tells the story is that he was just in his office. And and studying and he's the kind of. Man who happened to have an aerial map of Goran on his desk. And and he gets an English translation of the copper, scroll one of the more. Well known ones by Gabriel Garcia Martinez. He has a. A book with all these girls in English. And so so he's just looking at this very well accepted translation of the copper scroll. And he sees that the coppers girl again. According to to this translation in the valley under the ruins in the valley of a core. And. And so he just looks and he thinks that traditional and accepted place of the valley of a core. And looks for ruins in that area or thinks about ruins in that area and runner or most famous and the most connected to the Dead Sea scrolls there he just takes that first line as a preamble which everyone else had always taken that line as just referring to that. I a location and so what the just right off the bat and instinctively what he did that was different that will affect the rest of his research for a decade is that he took it as a preamble like all of the next locations listed in the school will be in the ruined which is in the valley. Of course. So it's important that I defy that ruin and he just thought to himself. I'm going to see if the archaeological remains of Koran match the rest of the locations listed in the car. Upper scroll. And that's where it began. In other words, all of the treasure is. Right there in Coomer where the scrolls were discovered. Exactly other people other scholars have thought, you know with passing reference only John allegro, actually. You know, really nailed down a couple of locations that he identified with Kumaon in the copper school certainly other scholarships thought there seems to be matches here because because the proximity the copper scroll just found steps away from combined. It's associated with all of the other Dead Sea scrolls authors and owners of the Dead Sea scrolls were the essence who lived at home run. And so I mean, it doesn't it's it's kind of a flash of the obvious in some ways. So really what Jim Barfield was doing. That was unique in new was giving a method and a rhyme and a reason to. How does Ron match the copper scroll? Exactly. And is it possible that all sixty of the locations are actually income Ron and buried underneath come Ryan, or at least on the edges around comb run because because the copper scroll never takes you anywhere else after it says in the ruined which is in the valley of core, all of the all of the identification are very specific. After that, you know after that, we're just talking about dry, cisterns and wells and ritual immersion pools. And so it never really indicates that you do need to go somewhere else the very next line. And this is one of my favorites. Just right off the bat, but the copper scroll begins it says pass under the steps leading to the east forty cubits. And so it was pretty easy for Jim Barfield to look at an aerial map and say are there steps facing east and? Courant? And so he just orients his math. So the cardinal directions of the compass, and he sees that there are steps heading east. And then he wonders what how can I find out if those eastward facing stairs are forty cubits long..
