"Mouth is always let me see. What's real time. Here we go come on. Admit that the raiders are really good now that they'd beating the ravens in the steelers very little. I'm good to admit two weeks into the season. It's an impressive win. Can we just can we stop with that. Everything in the nfl coverage these days is so overstated. Every result is not into the world even though every result is treated that way including on this network. Not this show. The the raiders had a good win to have a short week. Derek carr played. Well even know. I don't even know what's going to happen to him next week. he's injured. Apparently they go to pittsburgh they win. We don't have good. Pittsburgh is even though they'd be buffalo. The previous we just. Can't we just slow to roll a little bit. The raiders had a hell of a win. Yesterday let's see what happens in week. Three let me go to derek carr for a second as you mentioned. He's got a bad ankle and nobody knows if he's gonna play but let me go to what he's done for two weeks. Nobody thinks derek. Carr is a great quarterback the other week in the fourth quarter that was against the ravens in the fourth quarter and the overtime in just that amount of time he for two hundred. Sixty seven yards and two touchdowns. Yesterday he threw for three hundred eighty two yards and two touchdowns his pastor eight hundred seventeen yards and two gigs. That leads all the football. I mean okay. Tom brady is the greatest thing anybody's ever seen. But what is derek carr exactly doing. I would like to root for the raiders. I have some trouble. Mike with the way that they left oakland high and dry like that. Yeah they got a couple of nice wins they do. Although we know in hindsight you look at the steelers and you look at the saints and you say buddy fall down the second. Those teams miami. So we all read people who fall down to the declaration. Worse played call from saturday. Florida's two point attempt or auburn's fourth-down fade. Well i mean the two point attempt. Tony did just wanted to slow dance in the quarterback of the running back into an alabama line. That that. that's not gonna work. You do need to two point. Conversion near the fourth down play for auburn at penn state three minutes to play down eight from the one. You try fade. Really you try fate. You're not passing university. You go into a fate but you do have tank on that team. Who would rush twenty three times for one hundred and two yards and two touchdowns but you wanna go to a fate. Every coach in college football wants to call the fate and they do and it's stupid because the kids playing quarterback aren't good enough. They're not skilled enough. They don't have that yet. And the receivers are all gonna play on sunday. Stop calling the fayed. Costs up more creative. These coaches can't be that lazy so so let me just say about both of these plays. They're both awful. They're both deal way. Okay florida can't decide who is going to take the ball. That's not going to work. And a fade. When everybody falls down that is also not going to worry evaporated. Before they started the larger issue. On saturday mike is the teams that have been dominant in college. Football in recent years are apparently not dominant alabama. Almost lost clemson struggles to score ohio. State has lost once. And i believe was in trouble with asshole white. Yeah oklahoma sugar-beet nebraska by a lot more than that and notre dame is in a tight one every single time in the fourth quarter. Ucla wide hope for the fresno state at home you beat lsu and you lose to fresno state. What tony tony close games. If these dopes keep calling for the fayed something that requires the precision of great skilled pro. Not college kids on sunday and they keep calling it and it keeps not working even when they stand up with through with your issues. We're going to take one last break but still to come. Where does too is injury. Leave the dolphins and we'll aaron rodgers. Get the packers in the win column tonight. You better believe he will. If that doesn't happen as we narrows about -rageous.

"All three phases where they start together and we just continue finishing second half key twenty four for thirty three two hundred sixty seven yards three touchdowns and there was one thing that we're showing here this morning if you're watching on. Espn news and something that you may have seen. If you're watching the game yesterday just take me inside the mind of a wide receiver a quarterback special connection. They have when trubisky came off the field. Drive after dr alan robinson was right there pounding his shoulder pads just trying to pump them up. I understand you can't manufacture this stuff all the time but when your quarterback is reeling and you see something like that can that have long ranging reverberating effects or is that a. Thanks for showing up today now. Let's do it tomorrow. Type deal no. That just shows the relationship allen robinson obviously has relationship with mitch trubisky and that just goes to show you that the team may have not been down on him as much as the coaches asher. Robinson certainly knows that he's a guy who can get him to football. Where nick foles on the other hand probably struggle to get alan the football at times and so when you look at it from a receiver standpoint. You always want to make sure you put your arms around the quarterback not just selfishly for the football but to make him no no matter what you're behind him you're with him now. People would say that's calling the game where people that was watching the game and say. Oh he's happy and he's getting the football. He's buttering him up. no he. He knows what his team making new and he probably has full confidence in his ability. Even though outsiders we look at it and say mitch. Trubisky can't play dead and a cowboy movie after he knows because he played he plays with him. He's seeing every. Scc everyday in practice a go into their next game about the vikings is just interesting i know that they the bears look better against the lions. I know that they played against the texas team. That was actually just depleted in weapons. I feel so bad for deshaun watson. Not only because he lost the andrea hopkins at the beginning of the year. Because the ineptitude a bill. O'brien but we've asked for now. No brandin cooks. He didn't play david. Johnson he didn't play. Who is the shawn watson. you've been working with zubin. I know you said no excuses but damn who was he working with their and his team. How much confidence do you have in this bears team against the vikings considering how good dalvin cook and these guys are playing. We got a lot of confidence. Ju got a lot of confidence. Because they know each other's division rival teach twice a year maybe even sometimes if they can get into the playoffs. They'll play each other three times a year. So you got to have confidence in this football team moving forward it you look at the bear. They got the vikings at six and seven. They play the jags. I think the jags one and twelve in any finish up with the green bay packers depending on what a packers are at depend on that week. Seventeen game with the packers somehow finished strong enough in new orleans fallen offsetting. The packers got the home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Maybe week seventeen is a gimme game. Aaron rodgers is rested up. You finally get your glimpse of jordan love in the huddle and now they could. Minnesota can take advantage of that situation. So it's one of those deals where chicago mitch. Trubisky just needs to do what he did yesterday in they need to play defense and figure out how it's going to inform in the end and we mentioned obviously not just mitch trubisky but the situation with jalen hurts and doug peterson. We'll dig into that next when we ask carson wentz his biggest supporter at espn what he thought of jail and hurts his performance yesterday. G sanjiv willin subic podcast. The college football season is rolling along. And so is the latest season of your favorite. Dr pepper obsessed college football town. That's right we're talking about fans ville so brace yourself for all the on the field football drama and off the field dr pepper flavor. Your eyes and taste buds can handle..

"All to the green bay packers thirty one to twenty four and this was the game that we thought would go handling the packers that's the worst part of it all because the chiefs map more andy reid steve spagnolo and the defense was able to stick with green bay but a couple of mistakes at the end of the game or toward the end of the game sean mccoy's fumbled comes to mind andy reid will come under probably a bit of criticism for pundit the ball away to the green bay packers with a tired defense who simply could not get the ball back four thousand three at the forty yard line aindi read obsta punt i think of all the stories that go into this game and there's a lot of them including some progress on the defensive side of the football the one that people will be talking about the most was why read opted to punt a late in the game and give the ball back to the backers yes big question i thought it was too down territory there for the chiefs it's time and place who's the quarterback you're playing who's the guy that you're playing you know if it's even matt stafford coupon at aaron rodgers tom brady only few you don't the the packers have gone sixty seventy four yards earlier in the game to put up touchdowns the seventy five yards there jones to score a touchdown the last they were all long touchdown drives except mccoy basically handed them a touchdown with that fumble but he trusts his defense it i'll be honest with you they have stepped up tweaks fourteen now in the last two weeks five sacks on rogers tonight nine last week fourteen billion eleven the whole year before denver game they got fourteen sacks in the last two games defense stepped up met moore was serviceable i thought he'd be reed's play calling in the first half was on point he was helping it wasn't long throws it was a game plan for matt moore it was perfect you you let the guys do the work you have speed like mccoy hardman people talk about matt moore you know two touchdown passes we two hundred sixty seven yards you take thirty that off it was a push pass it was it was little little less than a foot that passed the michael hartmann was quick quick passes but they count s. touchdown passes i don't believe they should they count is touchdown passes matt moore's fine matt moore did the job what you expect the backup quarterback to do i thought the defense played well in in situations the mccoy fumble really hurt the team in andy reid not electing to go for it on fourth down it was the killer because aaron rodgers shown that ability to pick up that first day on be club just what he does this what the good quarterbacks do and i guarantee of mahomes flipside this is another team there's going to be other teams going forward not the punit because of patrick mahomes on that other side line that is the voice of j. dusty lichens producing this bad boy arrowhead pride posts game show presented by seven street casino where it's at you can call us nine one three five seven six seven six ten or get at us on the protein house eat with a purpose flying six nine three zero six we'll start with the phone calls a kevin in south texas what's going on i just like to say i thought the defense played really wilted jake the the biggest thing like you said is shawn mccoy yeah carrying up carrying the ball again like a loaf of bread and then in honestly travis see you know being week with his hands i mean that that to me is the biggest sector in this game today i'll listen off there it's a good point and the kabala shawn mccoy is this some this is something that he does where he doesn't keep it high in tight he holds the ball like that it's something he's been doing for most if not all of his career and the worst part about this game is that fumble was not knocked out of his hands he simply dropped it like you would a loaf of bread he dropped because he's looking ahead the vision tried to make that cut what he goes inside he's looking down the field instead of worrying about ball security but yeah he holds that ball a little bit too loose leads the way matter time the book is out on the chief she the ball out didn't matter in this situation he drops the football but definitely disappointing eighty read you know hesitant to put back out there right he ended up getting benched second part of that call the defensive effort if if you wanna look toward a bright side of this game and i'm sure we'll be breaking down each and every part of it the defense looked really good and they looked like they truly were building off last game and that's progress because i looked at this game and i'll admit i i set it on the pre game show i didn't expect this defensive at effort and i understand you give up thirty one points but there was signs of progress that the defense can hold their own in the one thing about this defenses keep this in mind green bay i was given up a lot of yards per carry the run defense has not been spectacular this year and here's the thing any read you look at the box score again it's the i'm the old shady mccoy nine carries forty yards only eighty eight yards rushing for the chiefs they could have been more and i thought it would more thought it would definitely break the hundred yard barrier heaven got more the quarterback and i'll be honest with you the mixed the run pass worked in the first half because that touchdown mccall harmon got it was purely because you were showing the ability to run the football play action matt moore look good on the play action early on because you had that thread of the run with the past and it worked for a touchdown to mccall horsemen but here's the thing about these injuries chris jones frank clark kendall fuller those are going to start hurting him not only that the enactments for the chiefs you think about the seventy two percent of the starters were playing twenty eight percent aren't but the inactive free clark chris jones eric fisher kindle fuller andrew wylie all starters and then greg snot and i told you beforehand enact is usually healthy there guys the of the world that's your neck it's usually it's full of those type of guys griffin was the only one the rest of them are legitimate starters in the national football league and that's why you see this inactive list is like whoa greg sonatas the only quote greg snot in that an activist i understand but you put yourself in a position to win the football game the good thing for the chiefs is aside from a homes and frank clark all those guys could possibly be back in the mix next week and what hurts the most is you had all the these guys missing like you're saying a pro bowlers guys that clearly would be starters for this team you almost want you almost stolen here at our stadium and a couple of mistakes had to you had to play a perfect night you had to be perfect tonight and there were a couple mistakes mccoy's fumble potentially that decision at the end of the game i in and you right there that's gonna be the most frustrating part i think for cheese what they'll be it's got to be really frustrating for the chiefs they just don't get blown out you know they lose by score it's the most lost three in a row at hero had stadium you're crazy it to those with pam homes this was a game the bat more game were they could have won the game homefield had the crowd behind mm-hmm aaron rodgers comes into this game three games under five hundred on the road much different court he's a great quarterback but he's been a hell of a lot better in lambofield than outside of it six nine three zero six protein house he with purpose text line call us nine one three five seven six seven sixteen reggie eidan man i'm i'm really pissed bro like real real ticked off right now i don't hate anything as much as i hate show mccoy the way he carries the got dorm ball coming through the line i understand that you an open field and that's just kinda what you do bro but like when you come into traffic before you break this at the kid i don't even hate fractions much eight sean mcquaid right now like like this is ridiculous dude and you and you danced almost forty years old you forty years hold on almost and football years and you can't the ball like this shot up to the defenseman they played with much more energy and they were much more effective the last two weeks man i'm really encouraged by that i'm really encouraged by the way matt moore played i thought he played well office play with everything played well you can tic tac andy reid fourth third-down called go for it i get it you know what i'm saying but but really mad if if mccoy doesn't cost that ball up right there man then we totally get another score out of there so i'm i'm really trying to not blow my top man but i'm i'm so mad could call reggie and here's the thing i mean yeah the defense stood up five sacks that shows up at again fourteen sex last two games but they are allowed three hundred passing game let a hundred eighteen yards on the ground not only that final drive that was man stuff was managed by the green bay packers we're going to line-up and we're going to run the football we're gonna limit aaron rodgers who could make throws he doesn't need to make much we're going to man up in the football down your throat they were backed up on the one yard line that's loud down there you did they may end up and they ran the football and the kansas city chiefs they did they got the job done i know and you look at thirty one points and and this wasn't aaron rodgers the beach you there was the running game at the end of the game not in rogers but you don't have franklin so you don't have chris jones you don't have kendall fuller thirty one points is almost it's almost something that you would sign up for and say okay with the playmakers the chiefs have we can maybe managed keep up the shawn mccoy fumble that reggie was talking about of course comes in the third quarter with the game tied at seventeen seventeen if he doesn't fumble the football there you don't know the chiefs have control this game because now you can score and green bay has to catch up this game ended up just catching up to the chiefs here's how the game ended five four first and ten at the green bay too jones up the middle jones guard jones right tackle jones right dan timeout chiefs jones up the middle timeout by the chiefs jamal williams left the green bay timeout kansas city chiefs jones right tackle two minute warning aaron rodgers short pass the game aaron rodgers kneels in rogers neal's era there's neil the okay here's the deal you didn't get it was aaron rodgers over there that was the running game for the green bay packers the finished out this game yeah i mean i understand that you're on in the fourth quarter of a game where at that point you're you're defenses legs are probably shot wasn't that off between the two i you had a chance andy reid beat himself justin what's up boys okay i got some good and ugly okay we had the ball and fourth yeah my pawn it but what happened last time they had the ball player he's fifty nine seconds so why would you want to trust the defense to make stop and then the good we didn't get thrown out with oakland but like this is all on eighty we don't trust to play crawl to get you yard like the defense was playing better tonight and so that probably went into andy reed's thinking but the caller although i i'd say it makes sense because the the jones play before that was a sixty seven yard touchdown and the packers scored on every.

packers chiefs steve spagnolo sean mccoy andy reid forty years two weeks two hundred sixty seven yards hundred eighteen yards twenty eight percent seventy two percent eighty eight yards fifty nine seconds seventy five yards sixty seven yard hundred yard forty yards forty yard two minute one yard

"One twenty four still lots of time left in this game Kansas city was turned away however on their ensuing drive and Green Bay took over they did so with a little bit more than five minutes left to go in the game and the Packers did an amazing job starting at their own two yard line of running out the remaining clock Kansas city did not see the ball again in this game has Green Bay hangs on in a terrific ball game tonight for thirty one to twenty four victory and Green Bay Packer is now sit at seven in one of the year the Kansas City Chiefs go to five and three that's our finals were once again thirty one to twenty four with more tonight's game go back to arrowhead rejoin John McCarthy and Brian greasy guys all right Scott thank you very much you know this was an entertaining ball gay we talk about the success that Aaron Rodgers had throwing the football because he was in total control twenty three of thirty three three hundred five yards he was sacked five times again he he always hit all good sex well times coming into this walking the five times tonight on the other side Matt Moore twenty four thirty six two hundred sixty seven yards and two touchdowns Rogers has these weapons that I don't know if he's had matured over the last several years these guys are maturing ready for us well there's no question I I think he has a something that's a little bit different in two backs that that have different skill sets in I don't know if defenses know quite yet how to treat Aaron Jones clearly sees Bagnoli did not have the right plan against Aaron Jones especially in the passing game so that's that is a a new weapon I think for for Aaron Rodgers and something that he's exploring along with Matt le Florida is certainly played out tonight well for Kansas city that's the first time that they've allow thirty or more points in consecutive games since two thousand thirteen they've lost three straight home games now they haven't faced cupcakes during these home games with three straight home games now they've got Minnesota coming up next week yeah which will not be wrapping easy game in it and I don't I would anticipate that Andy Reid based off of what happened tonight that he's going to put the pap homes back out there against Minnesota I think what it meant more proof tonight is he he can go out there be serviceable and he can win you a lot of football games they just ran into one better than them tonight yeah I think we mentioned his those numbers twenty four thirty six for two hundred sixty seven yards when they really did it use the short pass play for him he was most effective me Kelsey did not have a great game tonight either and if he has a better game moving forward that the weapons are there for him too I thought me Cole harbour was outstanding I think Kelsey could have made a lot more place first quarterback tonight starts time to select our geico drive of the game yeah I to me I'm a little quarterback and I just love the four minute drill and I love finishing the game on offense you take out any risk don't give the ball back to the other team so to me it was the Packers their last drive get the ball in the two yard line running it with seven straight times after Bryan Bulaga ran into the locker room right they had to bring Alex light in they get the final third down with the passport Aaron Jones to sealed the win that was to me to drive the game via five minutes and four seconds to finish the the ball game off the drive of the game sponsored by geico great news there's a quick way you could save money switch to geico go to geico dot com in fifteen minutes you could say fifty percent or more on car insurance now for the Packers moving forward there out in Los Angeles take on the Chargers next week in it it doesn't seem like they are going to be slowed up by anybody at least in the foreseeable future you know I think they need to keep building I think the scary thing about the Green Bay Packers is they weren't a very good football team to start the season right that first game against the Chicago Bears that was ugly they're getting better they have a coach that's are getting to know better Aaron Rodgers and Matt le for we saw a little bit of friction tonight in certain situations with I think it's healthy conflict for the two of them that relationship is developing and I think you're seeing their Rogers really blossom into an MVP Canada as the season goes on cheap to still sitting atop the division in the west the Packers because the to the Vikings of already won the Packers are game up over Minnesota that should a great match up down the road so that from a chief standpoint they're still in pretty good shape even though they've lost these games at home I think they came into this game hoping to to win these are two playoff teams yeah there's no question okay and I don't think that anybody's panicking because they know that they're gonna get Pat my homes back as good as Matt Moore play tonight if Pat malls was playing this game I think they have a chance to win and you disagree with that no I think you're absolutely right thank you catch yourself thinking man what kind of a shoot out with this have right and even more so because you figure the Rogers would've been able to keep up with him to work on a shoot out it would have been even more so if you think about the Superbowl this would be a heck of a match up for this or it might be it might be well I'll tell you the the interesting thing about this is that is Bryant said both these teams probably you're going to get better and better as the year goes on all right let's send it back to Scott grabbing our Westwood One studios got I thank you very much guys we come back we're gonna run down all the scores and highlights in today's NFL action this is Westwood One coverage of the National Football League diamond earrings diamond earrings actually even company.

"Eight hundred sixty yards. That's what two hundred sixty seven yards of offense a game some very good through three weeks nine of thirty six on third down so in an average game three three of twelve on third downs so the pessimist would say man. The offense isn't clicking. It's not gonNa Click and but if you believe the offense is going to get better if you believe I believe that Rogers after not playing the preseason and having a new coach and a new system for the first time as a starter he's just going to be on the uptick and now he's got the russ knocked off after missing the entirety of preseason one time due to a bad field one time because his back tightened up if using Rogers is going to continue to improve green bay a a golden opportunity on a short week consent undermanned Philly team when you play as tuttle first month. Is Anyone football to be four. No Green Bay would've loved up to be three in one and probably honestly when they look. They're scheduled new coach. Everything would've taken two and two and said he'll survive it if they can be foreign. Oh before the offense really gets going it speaks to their ability to have home field goal through Green Bay for the first time in a long time to have the type of season. We're talking about we're Rogers. It does not have to be the Indo be all for the packers to be a good football team. The most important thing for this team is the health Aaron Rodgers as long as he's healthy as long as he he's upright and they can protect them this team figure it out. The offense will get figured out. You can't tell me the best quarterback one of the best quarterback that we've seen play this game in a very long time can't figure out with Jimmy Graham. AM throwing the ball to someone. That's six six jump out at the gym. He is going to figure it out. It may take some time. They may have run the ball a little bit but because that defense is so good. They'll give him a lot of opportunity you you and I were talking before the show about who the identity of this offense is. Is it going to be a running team but is it can be Aaron Rodgers and everyone else what's the system. That's GONNA eventually come out of Aaron Rodgers and matlock floor but I guess it's okay to take some time to figure that out because their defense is keeping them in games yeah they. WanNa have multiple ways to build a win games right now. They're establishing the physicality county that offensive line pro football focus always has them rated as one to better offense of line but to me. I thought they were overrated because they weren't great. Run blocker offers that starts with an attitude that starts with how you're going to practice. The packers have changed up how they practice. They've been very finessed. Throughout the years no contact at practice the practices this is now are far more physical so it takes some time for that offense and what about perception look at Freddie Kitchens in his first year as the head coach compare to Matt Leflore. Thank God he had a defense because we were talking about those numbers for us an offense but you know what they'd be asked in June ruined as you're going to. Eh You want to change the play calling sure you should be calling place so there. He's very fortunate that he's able to get off to a slow start. Keep Riding at defense. Keep riding those turnovers keep building that run game because Aaron Rodgers in passing game to me. I believe be will be opened up as the season as as the season gets more mature. You're absolutely figure it out back here. Brian Westbrook the cowboys. He's one of eight teams to start the year undefeated while Jerry Jones lives for this hype. Others aren't buying it wholesale and fell writer. Bill Barnwell says the cowboys are GONNA the decline as the season goes along and as their schedule gets tougher the three teams. Dallas has played so far have combined for one win and eight losses brine mine. Are you buying the cowboys three now start. You know I am buying it and I win this to be anything other than three zero you play Washington..

"And I'm telling you right now that that's where it's at so. Himani and her Earl she's and I don't ever Beck uplift tons of the guys on it here. All right, folks. Take a look at this the ticks Brent. What do you see what his football lily ten people? Think is probably the strongest football club in the hillbilly football converse thing. So I think it's the port of logs, but LA is a very close. Second. The only team to beat the ten this year are the Portland logs beat them twice. A matter of fact, Ellie sitting right down thirteen to second place, technically second place in the western division of a hillbilly pinball conference by virtue of the fact that as we mentioned Portland has beaten him twice, but only comes this football game with a rushing offense fifteen hundred forty years Thornton clueless who seems to have picked up a little head of steam here in the latter. Half of the season eighteen rushing touchdowns two full MLS and he ever five point four yards per carry for the Milwaukee lions running the football. Of course is very own way. Touch touch with fifteen hundred sixty yards. Not a whole lot of difference between these two football players clueless and like touch in terms of their actually light-touch about twenty eight more yards than Thornton clueless. Thirteen touchdowns though for light is opposed to those eighteen clueless has and lake threats with foams clueless with two and the big picture is. Of course, the average yards per carry five point two for clueless. Four point seven for our win light-touch looking over here on the passing side of things you'll see quite a difference with the Milwaukee lines. Of course, we have here in Florida with the ninety five one five quarterback rating twenty two hundred sixty seven yards passing Twenty-one touchdown passes that he's got ten interceptions. By the way, he has been sacked twenty six times. That's going down a lot, man. I mean, that's that's, you know, go down gambling, man. That's the sack statistic fat. I see them. I see them. I denoted improperly. Time. Thank you didn't put them under touchdowns. That's great to be chill cruel about it. Ooh stood. Anyway, regulate ten thirty seven hundred eighty yards. You talking about hunter who interviewed. Are you did jacket on lies light we interviewed hundred last on Friday night? He was playing with ducks in his bathtub. I don't know what the hell he was doing. But hunters one of these guys he's all about business. He goes home and takes a bath in place with his rubber ducks and comes out here and throws touchdown passes. I guess it's good work. If you can get it thirty forty six touchdown passes forty six touchdown passes. He is behind. Well. Let me see he's behind the Greg evenly by a couple only been picked off seven times. He's only been sacked five times. And here again is what we've been stressing throughout the season of football. You can't really throw the football affectively. If you're on your back. That's exactly what's happened to Aaron in our offense with who's twenty six sacks at say rough rough road to home. Well, he's a quarterback rating of one thirty eight which is godly Taylor. Look at the defense for the LA tan that four hundred four thousand four eighty two yielded thirty one hundred thirty five passing and they've given up thirteen hundred forty seven yards rushing. They've recovered three fobel's. They've sacked quarterback thirty times they've picked the quarterback off twenty three times. That is a pretty damn good defensive unit. Put a Milwaukee lanes. They've sent the quarterback. Thank teen times. They picked the quarterback off seven times. They've allowed fifteen hundred twenty seven yards rushing. Thirty one fifty three passing similar statistics in terms of pass defense about effect almost almost exactly like, but the rest of the way and the work is class, and it has to do with allowing a lot of yards on the ground and not really being able to get those turnovers. You've got to force turnovers. You've got to get the ball into the hands of your offenses gay. Just wait for the fourth come around. And yeah, you're right attack. But it it means Secondly quarterback. It means picking the ball off as a lot of things. Look at the turnover ratio..

"That's crazy account for. That's what makes Kansas City even more dangerous than say someone like Tom Brady because Tom Brady is not gonna do anything off schedule. Drew Brees is going to do very little. Well, wait a minute Tom Brady just ran for thousand yard, and they stopped. I knew you sold it in the kneel down into the game instead of going back yard went forward because they wanna go thousand guys already. All right. But so here's the thing about the ravens that people need to understand since Lamar took over. I've never in this era of the NFL. I can't remember a team. Maybe t-boz Broncos that are running off like this first game. Lamar is the starter fifty three rushes two hundred sixty seven yards next game forty-three rushes two hundred and forty two yards next game forty nine for two seven they have just removed the forward pass from their offense. They are trusting an excellent defense a defense that has been great since from the start of the year. They had a small moment in the middle of the year where they soften a bit. Now, they're back to being great. And to say, we're just going to run it right at you. And I know the number say the chiefs run even sped in their past defense. I actually having watched every game disagree with that. I think it's teams are abandoning the Ron because the chiefs are up. So sure, but I didn't teams can run on Kansas City. I thought they might have been in the market for the player. The snacks Harrison when he was the market that I thought they would be on the market for. Player like that try to shore up their interior defensive line because you can run on Kansas City. Would you change that formula if it's working why would you change that of defenses so far having stopped? You maybe a one dimensional offense is is the only way that you're going to be the chief. It's great. But don't think about Baltimore. Great numbers. Great rushing attempts to fifty three forty three forty nine only way they got a chance if they rollout Cincinnati's defend because we didn't mention it. That's who they were going against Oakland's defense. Right. It lambs defense. Kency's defense is bad. It's still better than nerd defense. And they got the vendors of having their offense to build a fight form. These other teams they struggled defensively in their offenses aren't explosive. So when you get in these games, you get on shows like this, and it's all nice and patient, and then you get out there, and you feel Kansas City speed and you start to getting Zayed's and you start to rush. And then, you know, something next thing, you know, they got Lamar Jackson dropping back forgot the game plant. He's trying to throw the football. So you got to be able to. Keep your patients just like Dallas won that game thirteen to ten. This is not about drown pretty pitchers. This is about trying to get the job done trying to stay on the field for Baltimore's offense. And I just don't believe they'll be Kansas City is going to put too much pressure on and Lamar is alternately have to throw the ball. And there's a reason why they don't have him throwing right. Yeah. You brought up that Dallas game. Know, what point would you ever say? Okay, douse is gonna play the New Orleans Saints. The saints are gonna have seven sacks on that Prescott. What's the score gonna be saints are gonna win the turnover battle, right? Terrible penalty on a punt. And it's and it's thirteen ten. I mean that goes to your point about patients about sticking to the game plan. And if you drop down by touchdown, you get to the point where you're dropping back. Not. It's not how they're going to win. They're gonna win with that quarterback run of the run in the play action and running the football. And then obviously doing what they do as an offense running the ball. That's that's what it comes down..

"And for the giants not to put any points on the board in the second half is wild. Don't let their defense off the hook. You know? I said that Thursday, I'm not sure their defense is any better than their offense. I think their defense is worse than their on. And the eagles just went through them in the second half Zakar attain. A big game. But that's kind of like Carson Wentz a season. The only thing predictable or reliable about this offense. Zachert I do like Josh Adams. I do think that he gives them something to cling to down the stretch. Absolutely. He was impressive. And he had a fifty seven yard touchdown called back on a holding. Penalty on the opening drive. That was a big call in the game. He looks good. I think he's going to keep that he's he's already taken over there leading Russian for the season with about three hundred yards. And I think he's gonna keep that job. The rest of the year. The eagles are five and six Redskins. Cowboys of course, tied atop NFC that six and five let's move on. Towns we feel it by Cyrus Jones of the ravens thirty brings it along the numbers for the forty. He's got a block, he's midfield. Sidelined forty. Ulta furry leg rice twenty. Seventy yard punt return for fires. Joan. Treason dusky. WBAL with the call. So I was Jones big return. But the ravens ahead for good. Gus Edwards a Lamar Jackson combined for a hundred eighty nine rushing yards as the ravens took care of the Oakland Raiders thirty four seventeen in Baltimore, Greg. You're bubbling all day watching L Jax. Hear little sounds from you from your cubicle area. Why because he's a fun player to watch. You know, the they came out in the first half almost trying to prove point that. Hey, Lamar Jackson can be a dropback passer. We can run a very conventional offense. There wasn't really any threat of Jackson running any fakes anything like that. And he made some throws. He also had two interceptions both of which were tipped. But we're not great throws. And then the second half you come out, and it was like all right enough of trying to prove a point. Let's try to win the game. And they basically ran the type of offense that they did a week ago. Thirteen play drive. Touchdown Gus Edwards and Lamar Jackson. Get it going on the ground. In Jackson makes them night rose seventeen played. Touchdown and those took up so much time that it was essentially over after that. And I found it very telling after the game that they asked John Harbaugh. Joe flacco gets his job back if he's healthy and John Harbaugh when out of his way, not to answer it. And I think this is Lamar Jackson's team. It wasn't perfect. But I think they want to ride this out and see what happens. I mean, John Harbaugh's name is being whispered about for the USC job this morning hours before they kicked off my one question with the ravens because no doubt Lamar Jackson is arguably the most electric player in the league outside of sikwan Barclay and last week they run for two hundred sixty seven yards this week. It's what two hundred and forty two. We're in the league. We're all we're talking about is forget the running back for the most part outside of four or five of them and throw the ball left, and right and defenses don't matter in the ravens are coming at this in a completely different way. Is that something that the next ravens coach or even Harbaugh is going to try to? Sustain long-term is this how you play offense with your quarterback rushing the ball twenty something times over God it, but you're right? Well, and I'd be concerned when you only rush they once in the first half, and he ended up with eleven overall, and ran it. Well in the second half, you need to have a better defense than the one that they've shown lately for this to work. They're not really playing game changing defense with a they have to do the Panthers formula where you need the quarterback to move the sticks on third downs, especially but it looks like Ozzie newsome's, rookie classes saving John Harbaugh's job. Even got Lamar Jackson gust the bus Orlando Brown's taken over the right tackle, you're starting to see Hayden. Hearst tight end. Now, this is a completely different offense. And I think you don't mess with a winning streak, you you have to keep places is the worst thing in the world..

"Sean Robinson. He was my number seven rated QB coming out of high school. I think he's in for a good year. And while the offense of line is young, you go back and look at the history of Patterson over the last ten years. Generally when he's got a young offense of line, he develops awhile and they end up better stance and they did the year before. So I know this guy can take a young offensive line and do well with it. Now the schedule, they do have to play Texas on the road, and they also have to play West Virginia on the road, but they get Oklahoma at home, which is big. And I think this is TCU team with the defense special teams and sneakily good offense. And there's no dominant team in the big twelve this year. So if they can run the table or get close to maybe one loss get to that big, twelve title game and winning. She's got a great shot at making the playoffs and win the division never gonna feel dumb, taking a bet on Gary Patterson. There's any coaches done more with less. Maybe Chris Peterson, but those two guys really establish themselves and Peterson's finally getting some recruits and he's shown that he can play with the big boys as he's prove. In some bowl games over the years, just really, really impressive. So I like that value. Let's let's switch to over unders season win, total bets. One that sort of jumped out at me and we can talk about a few of them, obviously, is UCLA under there's a lot of into it. There's not not just drinking, but there's chugging of the Kool aid out there in Westwood as a guy, I'm unconcerned with chip Kelly, go in there and sort of restoring that program. I know things don't happen overnight, and that's kind of what you talk about. You like under five and a half wins. Yeah. And you think of under five and a half. So UCLA basically has to win six to beach here and get to a bowl game. Now they've got a couple of things that really bothered me. First of all, chip Kelly was way ahead of the game when he went to work and you know the spread offense was new. The fast paced tempo was new and they were winning ten games every single year. He was there at least ten games while he doesn't have that advantage anymore effect. When you talk to coaches and this year talked over a hundred coaches, everybody's using that third linebacker spot as safety slash linebacker the deal with everybody running the spread and everybody running temple. So no longer that big advantage there. Also when he was at Oregon, they had the advantage of the facilities being better than everybody else. And now everybody's in a facility building thing, it's just a big race to be the biggest and best. The other two factors look at is experience level. You know, last year Josh Rosen was there. They lose him. They ran a pro style offense, moving to the spread offense of lines. To run new schemes. They got a true freshman most likely going to win the quarterback spot and overall UCLA roles in at number one hundred eighteen in my experience shirt. And let's keep in mind their defense last year while banged up on the defensive line gave up five point eight yards per carry. Two hundred sixty seven yards per game rush. Those are ridiculously bad totals. I don't think he's gonna sprinkle some very distant defensive front seven and get into all of a sudden become a dominant defensive front seven. And then the final factor when I look at UCLA the schedule actually right at the toughest schedule in the country out of north, they draw the top three teams, Washington, Oregon, and Stanford. They draw Oklahoma on the road. Fresno state while once team. Fresno state is one of the top teams in the mountain west. That's going to be difficult, especially with an experience for as no team and even the weakest team on their schedule Cincinnati as a potential of getting to a bowl..

Gary Patterson chip Kelly UCLA Sean Robinson Chris Peterson Oklahoma Oregon TCU Fresno Josh Rosen West Virginia Texas Westwood Stanford Cincinnati Washington Two hundred sixty seven yards eight yards ten years

"The defense had read and Jonathan Vilma and Mike rump and DJ Williams in Philip Buchanan in German McDougal is a team that was just absolutely stacked just stacked. And this is after Lewis left actually, which is interesting. But I mean, this is just absolutely stacked and they won their national, but your game. I mean, they gave up the only the averaged they averaged forty two points. Forty two point, seven points. This is the college football. This only happened in college really where you can average forty seven point two points and then average on their side to giving up points allowed. Nine point eight, nine point eight they were. They were averaging they were being their team teams by our thirty three points. Thirty three boy different point differential. So, I mean, that's why you have. They're not quite as as ranked as high as the next two teams because they played in the big east at that time actually did not quite have the schedule that they would have had now easy. But you do, you obviously did have two. They also had survive some late scares in their final three games against a Boston College, Virginia Tech into Brassica. Boston College Unitech in the Nebraska was not a saying what was quite the inferior opponent in the national chamber of game. So still number three. Number two. Florida, Gators twenty two thousand and eight Florida. Gators urban Meyers. This is obviously a team that reminder called the best ever played. The game obviously had a bias. But I mean, this is a player bore nineteen nineteen players from that team eventually drafted. Obviously, Tim Tibo one of the most decorated quarterbacks in college football history that offense to over six hundred points on offense. That season high-scoring total exit six hundred eleven point was high scoring total ever in the SEC and also they played eight of the nation's top thirty best defenses that season. So I mean, it's pretty say a lot if you're playing the year in the play all of Georgia Alber LSU. The team that touted NFL talent. Of course, we said seven, nine nineteen of them were drafted eventually Percy Harvard, Chris Rainey, Jeff, Dem's lose Murphy. David Nelson in defensely Carlos Dunlap Brennan spikes, Joe Haden all the master. Basically, that's your. That's your three levels of defense, lineman, linebacker and cornerback. So that's good there. As you know, this is the guy they were able to hold Sam Bradford, it's only fourteen points in James game. And then finally, the last one is the twenty to keep saying twenty two thousand five Texas longhorns as with the team that beat a UCLA USC obviously. When young was a young. Dog were underdog gets Halley favored USA team and young able to complete thirty or forty for two hundred sixty seven yards rushed for another two hundred yards and obviously had that dash for the touchdown with eighteen seconds to go or eight seconds ago was nineteen seconds. I said, eighteen nineteen seconds to go to win the game. All right. That's it. That's for today as we will come back for you on Monday. So everybody have a good weekend and we will talk to you later. Bye. You've been listening to the Golden State media concepts, football.

"two hundred sixty seven yards" Discussed on GSMC Football Podcast

"They got to figure that out on the different side obviously to have brit ripen who's looking like he's going to be coming back to in his senior season knew that quarterback to lead the team they're nice spring play two quarters in the spring game when fifteen for nineteen for two hundred sixty seven yards three touchdowns and but it's also going to be difficult for him as he loses cedrick wilson to the draft as he went in to set the boise state receiving record last year and with over fifteen hundred yards also they have guy named octavius evans he's pretty good too i wasn't filling him a nice nice deep threat for the broncos twenty two is texas so the longhorns definitely lost some guys over the last season they did lose six enter tom herman last year and his first year in austin looking back turning bounceback matter to have a bounce back year good could possibly do it like he did like georgia and miami did last year longhorns are gonna leave spring practice again without without a quarterback a number one quarterback sam elgar who might have a slight edge over over the junior sam bless she but definitely battled each other out bless you plus having some problems with a knee injury and shoulder while unger did go thirteen for twenty two with one hundred fifty one yards in the spring game the competition will continue over the summer and preseason camp according to cochairman so they're going to figure that out as they go along there in austin at twenty three is saying them with their new coach imbo fisher it's going to be quarterback next arkell who did throw very almost five hundred yards in that game against force in the big belt bowl but they'll be having kellerman also in there to battle him out in the in the for the starting job there monde the both mon for two touchdowns and that spring game.
