"We don't even have a bank account. Yeah. Like, you take care of those bills. I'll take care of these bills. We tried doing a journal account for a while, but there could never equally keep money in it because the nature of our work we were never employed at the same time. So it was just like, take care, I want my separate Friends, 'cause I also would have this thing early in the relationship at this point we've been together next month will be ten years. So I know it's a long time, but early on, I always wanted to have my friends because I didn't want to be that girl who gets lost in her boyfriend. And then when that relationship ends, she ain't got nobody around. And so I was kind of like that. I was like, if you go away, I need to have my community and my safety net. So I always wanted to have my friends away from him. I need to be able to talk about him. You know, just have people. And so when other couples aren't like that, I really bought that. And then also, I just know so many people where I don't really know their partner. You know? Yeah. That person's fine. Maybe they have to like, but I don't know them well enough. And now I'm in a situation. I'm in a situation. Where like I'm paying for people? No, no, no, no. I want you to random ass man here. Who don't say nothing, or it's weird or boring, or all. For all of the above. The times where I'm like, oh, I want Andy there are times where I don't know anybody in the other person, which is like a wedding. If I know people at the wedding and then it's more like, you know, Andy's definitely come to a wedding that was more of a college reunion. And he's got to say that he's like, all right, do you guys have fun? Those are the words. Then there are other weddings where it's like, we've literally just talked to each other at the table. It's like without you here, I would be. Yeah. So I think it depends, but then, but I agree it's like, I don't know, because my email did not say significant others welcome. It was like we're doing a dinner celebration I have reserved the patio. Now I didn't say I didn't go in deep and say like, this is a seated event. We have max 22 people. I didn't say that. Because what I also thought would happen was that the people would then ask if they could bring the partner then I could do the whole explanation of like, hey, I only had this many seats. This is about a specific experience that happened to you. This wasn't just like a hypothetical. You rented a patio. You invited friends and then people brought partners. It hasn't happened yet. But we are coming. And I said, we were not invited. But I can't do that. So now here, but it's funny because Andy factored in the partner. Already, with certain couples. And why? And that's made me tweet it. I'm sitting at home and I was like, why would you do that? And he's like, Naomi, you're the weird one. He's like, people? Most times you invite somebody to something your brain their partner. But I agree, a party, like a backyard moment, a come as you are..

"Today. I'm going to do something a little different for this installment of your next dive normally tried to take you to a dive destination where we talk about the trip from a number of different perspectives. The travel the lodging the dive operator. Oh yeah the diving. Now we've been around the world. But today i'm going to focus on one particular dive that is almost in our backyard. It is one of the most iconic dives here in new england and that is the wreck of the chester. Polling off gloucester mass. The chester polling was a coastal tanker. That sank in a brutal storm on january tenth. Nineteen seventy seven. The tanker had just left everett massachusetts and was bound for newington new hampshire. That information is pretty consistent in the research but there is other conflicting information about where she had been. And what cargo she delivered for example some documentation said she had previously delivered kerosene to new jersey while others indicated that the heating oil was delivered to everett mass. I would suspect that delivery to everett mass to be more likely always interesting when you Doing research to get this type of inconsistency now the chester polling was bill in nineteen thirty four at mariners harbor new york by united dry docks incorporated it was originally in the plattsburgh sacconi somewhere along the line at also known as the mobile albany before getting renamed as the chester polling at the time of its sinking it was owned by the motor vessel polling brothers and that was number one inc. I wasn't able to find who was actually named after but obviously some member of the family. So that's a little bit of history about the ship now on january tenth. Nineteen seventy seven capital captain. Bert charles burgess was in command. The forecast for that day was for thirty five mile an hour winds along with fifteen to twenty foot seas. the chester polling chester. A polling left. Everett are left everett at six thirty. A m well as we all know. Forecast can be wrong. The winds built up to fifty miles per hour and to seize goddess highs. Thirty feet facing the mounting sees captain. Burge's tried to get more stability by adding more ballast but at ten thirty a m a thirty foot waves smashed into the tanker and broke it in half the captain called for abandoning the ship. Six of the seven members of the crew were saved. I believe it was the cook jail. Derosa from providence rhode island who perished the sir. The stern section of the chester polling came to rest off easter point gloucester originally in about seventy five feet of water with the bow section sinking about four miles off of eastern point in about one hundred ninety feet of water subsequent winter. Storms move the stern section to its present location about eight hundred yards off of eastern point about ninety five feet of water. I think the bottom might be a little bit deeper than that. However the stern section of the chester polling is what some folks call hollywood wreck sitting upright and is probably the most popular wreck dive off. Cape ann as that areas known. Now i- i dove the chester polling way back in july two thousand and five. It was my fortieth dive and a double dip on. The polling was part of my advanced open water class. These dyes would constitute my deep and wreck advanced. Open water dives. At that time. I was still diving in a seven. Millimeter wetsuit with the appropriate gloves and hood. I use the standard aluminum. Eighty tank with nighthawks. Thirty two. I can still remember the anxiety that had doing. The first real wreck dive in the northeast but once in the water what an amazing dive the visibility that day was thirty feet and my max step was at eighty five. Even though it was july the water temperature on iraq was fifty degrees. It was incredible to move along the deck and reach the mid mid ship section where. The tanker broken half absolutely mesmerizing but with an aluminum. Eighty you don't get much bottom time and after about fifteen minutes we headed back to the up line and after are appropriate safety. Stop we climb back aboard the boat and got ready to do it again. Total dive time was twenty six minutes the second dive that day was just as spectacular and pretty much the same profile. Let me just say in a wetsuit. It can get pretty chilly. I didn't go back to the chester polling until august. Two thousand nine and that was my last trip there. It was my two hundred and forty ninth dive but this time i did it in a dry suit and hope to get some good video of iraq. I still dove aluminum. Eighty the dive was just as i remembered and just as exciting visibility again was thirty feet. And my max. Depth was eighty two with and the bottom temperature. That day was forty eight degrees still very cold but so much better in a dry suit again however with an aluminum eighty. You just. Don't get much bottom time especially if your task loading like shooting video so my recommendation is that if you are planning to die the polling you might want to consider a little bit bigger tank something like a steal one hundred or going to doubles. I know that i wouldn't consider going back with anything less than a steel one hundred tank. How do you get to the chester polling back. Then we use cape and divers but they closed up several years ago and recently the dive boat cape and diver to was purchased by several guys from boston. An air now operating regularly chart regular charters again became an diverse to is a forty five foot. us coastguard registered dive vessel. It is spacious and right now with limited divers on board you get plenty of room to get ready and dive but you don't get a lot of but you don't get a lot of time because you don't have a lot of time to get ready because the is only a few minutes from the dock so be prepared one thing. Different about northeast wreck diving. Is that as a diver. You need to bring all your gear that includes tanks weights everything. It's not like diving at a resort. Don't get caught short by not being prepared with all your own stuff now. Here's an interesting element. That i discovered during my research. It appears that in nineteen sixties. The chester polling was length lengthened. By maybe twenty six or so feet. That doesn't sound like much. But at the time of her sinking her length with two hundred and eighty two feet so that lengthening was about ten percent of the original ship's length could this have been a contributing factor for the ship splitting in half. I wonder so if you happen to be in the area of cape ban in gloucester massachusetts. You might wanna look up cape and diver to and head out for a double dip on the chester a

The MLB, the Atlantic League and Moving the Mound Experiment

"I wrote about moving back in mid march and that was before it was officially announced that the atlantic could be doing that this year. I think that announcement came. I don't know maybe th in the weeks or months after that article came out and this was something that they had talked about doing in twenty nineteen that they were going to implement a two foot move in the mound and the atlantic league at midseason. And that didn't end up happening in the sense that i got when i was working on my piece earlier. This year is that basically. They were worried about players. You know having workman's comp concerns or or having injuries occur and basically that players would not be happy with this change and that there would be a lot of objections and so they didn't end up doing it that year and then they did this year but only half of the distance just a one foot move and even so hit did not go over well so tell us a little bit about what you learned about how players responded to this both when it was announced if they were even aware of it at that time and since it went into effect earlier this month. Yes so it's more than a handful of players. Mostly pitchers are a feel for what it's like to be in this league. Vins experimenting in a way. That in run countermeasure you. Your career aspirations your individual performance and also your health because there's a lot of sixty one foot now and we don't know about regarded to where it goes to your body and your arm health whatnot. And i think it's fair to say that the players are not overly pleased with how the week has shifted when it comes to the sixty one foot mount self. All the pictures basically agree that had been able to adjust and it wasn't a big deal anymore. Now you know. They did mention like similar. Soffer tossing teammates have issues like there are actual effects on each quality men quality. And what have you so. I don't wanna make it sound like there's no difference whatsoever. Just they were overcome those despite some let's say less than i he'll scheduling and logistical aspects to it but what players are really stressed about. Is that yes. The weakest mobis

Who Will Pay To Protect Tech Giants From Rising Seas?

"Lauren in our episode last week you told us about facebook how the company has built its headquarters on the waterfront and at sea levels rise it and the cities around it will need to build defences to keep the water back and the big question in that story was was a fair amount for facebook to pay for those defenses. And today we're talking about whether buildings should happen at all in areas vulnerable to climate change. And it's a story that involves another tech giant google. Yes and for google. The situation is a little different. And i should say google is among npr's financial supporters. Yep disclosure Yeah they recently bought a lot of property in sunnyvale with plans to build a major expansion on it. it's actually more than seventy properties close to the shoreline worth almost three billion dollars. Whoa okay that's a lot and what's there now. Yeah this neighborhood. It's known as moffett park. It's really an office park right now. There's lots of these low rise office buildings with lots of big parking. Lots what google wants to build is different. It'll be offices of course but also housing which isn't in moffett park right now and it's it's not for employees necessarily. It'll be on the market for anyone. They're also envisioning green spaces and bike paths basically walkable neighborhoods. That's the direction. A lot of cities are going in. Right yeah. I mean getting people out of their cars and moving away from the suburban model. Yeah and changing. Our land use is a key strategy for dealing with climate change and cutting carbon emissions but climate change is also a problem for this neighborhood because sea levels are rising and rising increasingly. Fast right okay. So how soon will that encroaching water be a problem fairly quickly. I mean there's already been about eight inches of sea level rise over the last century. By mid century san francisco bay could see about a foot to two feet and by the end of the century. It could be as much as seven feet. If humans don't substantially cut emissions so basically every high tide is getting higher and the risk of flooding is greater if there's a storm or wins that create bigger

"Sometimes life just throws you a curve ball. An unexpected event happens that totally changes your outlook on life. It could be the death of a loved one. A natural disaster. A big break in your career today story is about one of those moments amplified to the max. Something's worth shatteringly. Strange happens to two men in pascagoula mississippi that not only changes their outlook. It completely ruined the rest of their lives. It's october eleventh. Nineteen seventy three in forty. Two year old. Charlie hickson in nineteen year old calvin parker or fishing on the pascagoula river despite the age difference or super close family friends. Charlie's always been kind of a father figure to calvin and today they're celebrating. Calvin recently got engaged and to help pay for the wedding. He started to work as a welder. The shipyard were charlie's a- format by nine pm. The sun has set in. They're about ready to pack up but before they go home they try out one last fishing spot appear by the old shopping or shipyard and that's when things get weird as charlie reaches into his tackle box for a piece of bait. Here's this zipping. Sound coming from behind him. It's loud enough. That he and calvin both turn around and they see this vehicle in the distance. That has these blue flashing lights at first. Calvin some cops are poking around his car. But the lights start to get closer and calvin realizes it can't be the police. He's never seen any squad car. That's the size of a yacht and floats in mid air. Yeah whatever this vehicle is is now about seventy feet away hovering two feet off the ground. And it's huge about thirty feet long charlie. In calvin stare at this thing in total confusion. They have absolutely no idea what to do or what to make of it and before they can formulate a plan a super bright light shoots out of the. I guess you'd call it a ship. The lights coming from a door on the side of the ship which is opening and something is coming out of it

The Ins and Outs of ETF Tickers

"Do i have to do to hold a ticker so in order for a client of an exchange reserve a ticker they simply need to reach out to the exchange and make the request. It's pretty simple and straightforward if the tickers available. We reserve it for them. If it's already reserved by another exchange we place ourselves on the wait list in anticipation of a potentially becoming available or we can reach out to the exchange that hasn't reserved and ask it. S them if they'd be willing to release it. So is this like go. Daddy though pay. Should i do i pay in. Plunk down like twenty bucks. Then i get to sit on the url. No no you actually don't need to pay anything in order to reserve tickers. The exchange doesn't look at that as revenue line. Nobody really owns tickers to be honest with you. I mean just by way of background in. This is going way back when i started my career at the new york stock exchange in corporate listings. There was literally one guy. He said very small office with a huge ledger. I'm thinking it was maybe two feet by three feet and size. It was leather bound. And you'd walk in there and you'd have to bring a piece of paper actually in triplicate and reserve sticker it was very manual at the time exchanges eventually utilized other software technology but it was all individual exchanges fast forward to today. There's this concept of the inter market symbol reservation authority israel and it is all under the regulation regen a mess national market system plan and filed with the sec. So it's much more much much. More specific relates to the ability to be able to reserve tickers in. For how long so. So essentially each exchange has the opportunity to preserve up to fifteen hundred symbols and as symbols reserved for twenty four months and if that extent has used that an apply to a listing than they actually lose that reservation and it goes to the next person the next exchange on the wait list.

Wet Notes - 5-21-21

"This is wet notes here on scuba shock. Radio for friday may twenty one two thousand and twenty one first up. Today's news from the history of diving museum down in. I'll mirada florida about a month ago. On april twenty first to be precise. They opened up a new exhibit at the museum. This new exhibit is called diving in pop culture and it runs through december two thousand and twenty one the exhibit showcases. The underwater world portrayed in advertising entertainment and mainstream culture. The museum says that there is something for everyone. They have the regulator that was used in star wars. I think i read somewhere that a been an old decor that was used for darth vader's heavy breathing. They also have stuff from jaws men of honor and of course see hunt. Yes it's still alive. This is not a virtual So you'll have to get down to i'll miranda before december thirty first to catch diving in pop culture. Pick or it didn't happen. That's the tagline used by light. I'm sure to have my acolyte. Olympus t g six rig when i head down on a couple of days well i just saw that. They are running a contest for people to design their new pick or it didn't happen shirt. The design winner will get five hundred dollars worth who i like year. That's pretty nice. I hope you also get a teacher now. The contest opened on may first and runs until june sixth. So he's not a lot of time. The designs must be underwater photos or have underwater theme. And you must incorporate pick or it didn't happen into the design. No other words are allowed. You cannot use the ike light logo or any other copyrighted material the entry form on the lake blog so you have to search for light contest to find the link. I wasn't able to get to directly from their main websites. Who just do a little bit of searching there so fire up your creative juices and enter the pick or it didn't happen. T shirt design contest from michael. Light is reef. Well this is very interesting. Hope reef is an initiative that is being sponsored by shiba. The cat food brand hope reef is in sulawesi indonesia and they are planning to restore one hundred eighty five thousand square meters of reef spells out hope and apparently you can spot the letters on google earth. The purpose beyond restoration is to drive awareness and show how positive change can happen in our lifetime. Hope was unveiled on may fifth. Two thousand twenty one but it actually started two years ago is using something called restare technology that incorporates centimeter wide steel stars that the corals can attach to hope reef has its own youtube channel and you can check out the short one minute and thirty eight second video called the film that grows coral. It's called the film that grows coral because all advertising revenues from the film support the hope reef. Just go out there and search hope brief. Take a look diving with a purpose. That's exactly what a team of divers started last week. According to an associated press article. That i read this team of five to ten. Divers started a massive six month effort to clean up lake. Tahoe out in california. Their plan is to cover seventy two miles of shoreline and their goal is to conduct three dives each week to a depth of about twenty five feet. The team will be running this dive schedule from now through november. The operation is being sponsored by a nonprofit called. Clean up the lake. It was founded by a guy named colin west who is a diver and a filmmaker. The ultimate cost of this endeavor is two hundred and fifty thousand dollars on that i dive. They pulled two hundred pounds of trash from lake tahoe and tagged twenty larger items for subsequent removal. It's amazing that people still use our lakes rivers and oceans as garbage dumps. Good luck to this team for making a difference and diving with a purpose in case you missed it. Psi pci the gurus scoop scuba cylinder inspection. Recently posted a short article on died news wire. They needed to dispel a couple of rumors. Flying around out there about scuba tanks. One was about old luxury tanks. But that's not what i want to talk about here. Apparently there is a really bad rumor going around that beginning in two thousand and twenty one. Steel cylinders are exempt from ota cleaning requirements. What how did that one start. That is just unsafe and dangerous. Cg a or the compressed gas association states oh to cleaning is required for anything above twenty three point five percent over to please please please make sure you get your tanks properly serviced and cleaned for. Oh two as necessary thanked. Psi pci and finally. Here's some news from vermont. The remote business magazine recently reported there has been an appeal of the vermont agency of natural resources permit to sink the one hundred and fifty two foot ferry and the adirondack. as an artificial reef in lake champlain. The vermont national resource council via in the lake champlain committee. Lc has appealed to permit the vn rc's policy and water program director. John grove been. Doesn't think that this sinking is for the benefit of the people of vermont as it only serves a small group of divers. Laurie fisher the executive director of el-sisi stated that lake champlain is not a dumping ground. She feels the pcb's and other contaminates from the ferry will impact their drinking. Water she indicated that lake champlain. Already has one hundred racks and doesn't need the mvp honor adirondack on the bottom certainly an interesting perspective wondering how this will turn out.

So Hot Right Now: Why We Love the Chile Pepper

"This might sound like a just so story. But why is the chili pepper hub and said that we spoke to marazul procedure. She's a chef and culinary historian and she wrote an incredibly beautiful book called peppers of the americas which traces chili peppers all the way back to their south american origin so their forebears of today's peppers and tomatoes split off from sister about two feet median years ago in south america myself suspect then millions of years ago peppers looked and smelled like a tasty snack to the animals in the region. Which was the problem. Because the chili peppers precious seeds would get destroyed in most animal guts and chili peppers. Want to have baby chili peppers and tilles developed a defence strategy. It devilish non-poisonous thing In the form of facing which is an alkaloid said it's painful to most animals. They spots they avoided them but burst. Didn't birds have this amazing ability to not feel the heat sensation. Because they don't have the same heat receptors in their mouths or their skin. The way we do joining the chili. Chorus is denise coon. He's the chili pepper researcher at new mexico state university home to the one and only chili pepper institute and so they can eat lots and lots of these tiny little berries and pass it through their digestive system unharmed and grows into a new plant whereas s mammals. We can feel the heat and it passes through desk system and actually our our system destroys the seeds so it can't grow into a new plant. And that's kinda why we think that the chili pepper plant evolved caps and wants to keep mammals from eating them but then look at. What do denise told us. Chili peppers are the only plants in the world that produce kept sason and because chile's are making kept space and to protect their precious needs. They put most of that protection right around those seeds.

"How did you guys come about finding your position. Who were the experts. That kinda helped guide this statement. Well you know. I need for is what we feel very strongly. Is i think you to advocate for those patients who really don't have advocates for them right in the sense that like you know this. Is this the example. That i gave in our first weapon or of the month And basically imagine that we have a million people who had no dissection in both aren't in both armpits on the right and the left and so now you know they are fortunate enough to be receiving the is saination. And let's just say. There is a ninety nine percent chance that you know. The patients will not develop dima so there's one percent left right but that one percent of a million is ten thousand people. So it's like who's going to advocate for that ten tenth out for those ten thousand people and you know and and the thing is it's just a matter of conservative course of action prudent care so there is not much more of a difference in terms of an injection in arm or the lake. So i think that one of the concerns in the healthcare community is that it's just not team to to offer an injection in the arm in the leg by in terms of you know skill a it doesn't take any more Skill really to put the injection just about two feet lower than you know we are normally given in the arm and so basically our position is it just came about from you know just knowing that there are two main things from the injection rate. We know for sure that well publicized side effect is increased squally and live not enlargement right and so we know that with increased swelling and you know known enlargement. There is a higher risk for developing email. Because you're creating such a higher lymphatic burden and so that's one thing. The second thing we know about is that there are is a big concern. In terms of mimic game You know positive mammographies and breast cancer. Scans so so really. We just want to make sure that we argued for beaches where they won't develop a higher olympic risk and where they won't necessarily have to go through the concern of thinking that potentially they have a positive can if it just so happens that their skin is within this timeframe soon after their code injections and so it's just prudent course of action really that is guiding us and we just wanna make sure that we you know do what is in the best interest of our patients

Paperbark Maple: The Perfect Tree For Small Spots

"I found a plant. That i've known for a long time. I know younger ones of it. But i was. I was in a different situation last weekend. And i came across a more mature paperbark. Maple now i i. I have a client friend who has one that somebody teen feet. This one would be twenty twenty two feet now. That last four feet is not just in i. it's in width. Also paperbark maple is well named it has Bark like sycamore in the sense of peeling off. it's different colors as such and it's it's a bi colored plant even without considering the leaves. The leaf is a try type leaf for little little center stem and three leaflets. On each the twigs then are a well. I don't know dark. Brown glossy Anywhere for the first two possibly three years. then they start to what's called exploit. The bark literally peels off and within the fourth and fifth year. The the pretty brown is on out on the newer tips and it's then just simply shedding its outer skin and as it sheds at outer skin it makes it attractive darn near all year round. I i walked around the corner on a fairly sizable building. And the guy said. That's that that is a paperwork maple. He's how'd you know from from sixty feet. I could tell because the bark. I said then i have to look at the buds just to be sure but Quite a remarkable treat twenty to thirty feet it makes a wonderful vents small tree for smaller properties and so on and then of course interesting in its exfoliating season as well as a light shade now. Maples says the the norway maple in particular is known to kill lawns. it has a tremendous amount of routes. They're fairly close to the surface and they they will cause the area around them to be barren of grass anyhow Quite easily this tree. As i have seen them in the past and it fair sites and the one i'm talking about seeing the date has oh i don't know eight and a half nine inch trunk diameter at about twenty two feet or so so it's it is not even starting to kill the grass wonderful small trie for small lawns. And you're always talking about looking for ways to have a four season plant. Absolutely is a four season planet is now the the fall color is not the very greatest hits. It's an orangey. it's attractive enough by all means but it's not like a sugar maple that flames or looks like flame in the forest. But it's still very very pretty and then it has nice looking structure and then the the papery bark is from the ground right on up through the top except for the first two years of the foliage or of of the bark on the twigs. And that's that cinnamon dark brown Just absolutely an attractive tree for small spots.

MLB will use experimental rule changes in 2021 minor-league season

"So think if. Somebody's baseball ideas. Major league baseball spring training. Well do it now. Almost into it's not quite as third weekend but yeah what they're doing is major league. Baseball's got every level of minor league baseball trying out rules. New rule changes that if they go well they might consider implementing it the major league level. So it's basically test time. Experimental rule changes so. Let's go through a few of them. Yes all of it though. Just just to preface it. Steve the backstory hairstyle. Nice is they want more balls in play. Okay how can they. How can they get more ball. That that's what i read today right and it's also increase the pace of play. That's always something that every league is concerned with given they're trying to attract the youth and the youth probably has less attention span than any generation in history but Let's go through some of the minor league ball rule changes and a couple in particular that we wanna talk about. But we'll go through them. Triple a ball. Which is where the ottawa. Lynx us to play you can have larger bases. They'll be eighteen square inches instead of the usual fifteen and so that means your distance between basis is a little shorter three inches this just in and they're hoping to increase stolen bases with that aa ball. They're going to ban extreme defensive shifts. The deal is you have to have at least four defenders on the infield and they have to be all of them with two feet on the infield dirt enable inaba step off. Rule pitchers are going to be cold for a balk of they. Don't completely disengage from the rubber before throwing to a base and that's designed to increase stolen bases as well you've also got an ball pitchers limited to pick off attempts per plate appearance and if the pitcher tries for a third pick off and the runner is safe. He'll be charged with a bach. Because they we all agree that that thr- over the first base after a while it's pretty damn tedious but the two changes that will be happening in low able will be automatic strike zone systems previously used in the atlantic league in the fall league and the league is also set to use additional timers to increase the pace of play as well including between the delivery pitches and those two big. Those two things could be really big if they work in minor league ball and eventually end up in major league. Paul and those to me are the two biggest ones to me. That's like is a massive change. Stephen baseball if you have a consistent computerized strike zone be no. You know what i mean. No doubt about it. I watch games last year. Where you know even the announcers right you. You'll see a game where where the party out noise calling that low on. You know what he's calling it a strike he's calling it a strike that low on but then i saw them where it was. Just so willy. Nilly you know what this guy was calling and batters get it. You know you're just you're strikes on a little bit these calling the low on us highway one. But i've seen them where it's just knows what they're doing and its way out of the frame that they put up there now. That's a huge change. That'll make a big difference a bit. That'll nothing with the speed of play. But you know. I think it's the most significant thing ever. Yeah yeah. Baseball needs to keep evolving. All sports. Do though

What Happened To Berlin After the Second World War?

"The end of world war two signaled and unsure future for the defeated germany. Between the alta and potsdam peace conferences it was decided to split germany into four allied zones the eastern part of the country going to the soviet union to control and the western parts going to the united states britain and eventually france west germany was technically the boondocks republik deutschland or federal republic of germany and east germany was the jewish democratic republic german democratic republic or gd are despite berlin sitting entirely in the eastern part of the country. And i constantly have to remind myself. That berlin was nowhere near the east west divide. The city was also divided into similar zones. The mere existence of west berlin a conspicuously capital city deep within the communist east germany quote stuck like a bone in the soviet throat according to soviet leader nikita khrushchev so tenuous where the relations between the east and west that russia began plotting to drive the us britain and france out of berlin for good in nineteen forty eight. A soviet blockade of west berlin was set up blocking off all rail and road access in an effort to starve the western allies out of the city. In one of the most dramatic standoffs in the history of the cold war the berlin blockade saw the us and its allies supplying their sectors of the city from the air known as the berlin airlift. The allied nations flew in more than two point. Three million tons of food fuel and other supplies over the course of a year until the soviets finally gave up an the blockade things. Were relatively calm for a while. But in the late nineteen fifties. The soviets noticed a trend. Developing people saw how life on the capitalist side was recovering faster than life on the communist side. Not to mention there were a lot fewer spies keeping tabs on regular folks on the western side and people began to emigrate. This was especially true of doctors. Scientists and skilled professionals resulting in a serious brain drain in the east got worse year. Over year khrushchev ordered the east german government to stop the flow of emigrants for good on the night of the twelfth nineteen sixty one in one night barbed wire barriers blockade and even some sections of brick and mortar wall were constructed. It was later reinforced multiple times to become an impenetrable twelve footer. Three point seven meter high concrete wall. Roughly one hundred miles or one hundred and sixty one kilometer. Long complete with no-man's-land. Landmines guard dogs guard towers and checkpoints the relatively fluid border which had until that point allowed some sixty thousand east germans to commute daily to good paying jobs in the west visit. Family and friends attend soccer games and so on was gone with no warning. Whatever side of the border you went to sleep on on august twelve. That was where you stayed for the next twenty eight years. This opposing structure didn't stop people from trying to make a great escape to the west. Roughly one hundred and seventy one people. Some of them defecting soviet soldiers lost their lives trying to cross the border but over five thousand more succeeded and some of them got really creative with it but the first person to cross that foreboding line just hopped over it when the wall was three days old much of it was not actually a wall at all but sections of barb wire fence though with soldiers and police to enforce it one of those was eighteen year old. Conrad shuman stationed at the corner of bernauer. Stresa and opener stresa. He might have been young but he could tell which way the wind was blowing. He wanted out of the gdr like now he pays his feet nervously while chain smoking and occasionally pushing down the barbed wire coil. It was only two feet high. While the other guards were distracted by a gathering crowd shuman swapped out his loaded. Submachine gun for an unloaded and therefore lighter one at four. Pm shoe inflict away. His cigarette took a running start and deathly leapt over the barrier dropping. His gun and just leaving it. As he was whisked into a waiting west german police car a west german journalist captured the leap to freedom in what would become one of the most famous images of the wall until nineteen eighty nine. The west loves shuman but many of the people he left behind considered him to be a lowly traitor even after he was reunited with his family after the fall of the wall a generation later many people still shunned him as a deserter. Shuman was the first soldier from the national people's army to escape. But it's estimated that twenty seven hundred east. German soldiers and policemen followed his example. If someone had turned your home into a prison then you should treat it like a prison and start digging a tunnel in nineteen sixty four thirty students from west berlin spent several months digging a four hundred and seventy six foot or one hundred and forty five meter long tunnel tell people in the east escape one assumes they had to crawl to freedom because the tunnel was only about three feet high less than forty eight hours after it was finished the stasi the german border patrol discovered it but not before fifty seven men women and children had managed to escape. Which i assume is why. It's referred to as tunnel fifty seven

The Changing Seasons of Our Lives

"Just because you've done something for ken years or twenty years and it's been god the whole time that doesn't mean that god can't suddenly get done with it. I want you to go in a different direction. So i'm just going to tell you a story. Maybe help you understand a little bit about what you don't watch far one. It's time for a change in your life first of all. Let me say when something is changing in your life when it's obvious that there's a change maybe there's a change at your workplace and there's nothing you can do about it. You don't like it but they're changing something and it's gonna affect you. You can either sit there and be unhappy or you can go along with the change. Well i heard this one time. And i think it's very good when something is changing. The first thing you need to do is change your mind about the change. Say because if you're like. I don't like this and i'm not going to be happy with this. If it's going to change anyway then you might as well change your mind and say get used to this. It's going to be okay. you know. Things are changing in our lives all the time. I mean there's how many of you have had really good relationships at some point. Had a friend that you saw a lot for maybe ten fifteen. Twenty years ninety. Don't ever see him even people. There's certain people that are right for our lives and certain seasons and it doesn't mean it's bad when are no longer in your life is just time for a new season in. Maybe sometimes you've been helping somebody for a long long time and that's over god doesn't want you helping them anymore. Wants him to stand on their own. Two feet we had that situation with my brother. He lived with us for about four years. And we've got him all nice and healthy and he got off the drugs. He was addicted to and got his life. Straightened out working for the ministry and my brother was the of guy that he did. he did. Okay as long as somebody was kind of making them do what was right watching over him but he didn't do too good when he was on his own. Well he was a grown man and to be honest. I didn't want to take care of the rest of my life. I didn't think that was would even be good for him. And so the time came when it was time to stop helping him and that's hard to do. Sometimes and to be honest he didn't do very well. We stopped helping him. But i couldn't just keep taking care of him his whole life just so you can't give your whole life up to help somebody else. Stand on their feet. Who won't do their part. God wants us to help people but he never wants us to do so much far somebody else that they never ended up having to do anything for themselves.

"Trailer shopping you find one that's thirty two foot. And it's perfect for you. But then all of a sudden you're bouncing that ten to eleven thousand. Pound rating, and that's dry an embassy time, you get all your stuff in it. Water tank full. You're you're bouncing over twelve thousand now we're three quarter ton territory there. So let's make sure before you get the truck that we're matching it to the trailer. What about on the on the Diesel Motor? I've never owned a diesel vehicle before what kind of how long can I expect that motor last? And you're talking to three quarter ton. Yes, sir. Okay. You know, typically three fifty to four hundred I've I've personally had him that went over half a million. Thanks, a lot of good maintenance to do that. But you know, you're gonna pay nine thousand dollar premium just for the engine, and there are some advantages better field county when you're not telling more torque more power. Better resale value. I mean, there's a lot of pluses to it. But. You know, there's there's three quarter ton trucks right now in the Ford lines and the journal butters lions. I dunno ramps. Got there yet. But they're they're pushing eighty grant. Let's stop the land. But. Still if the one fifty will do it comfortably. You're going to get a better ride and drive and you're going to spend fewer dollars up front. All right. Sounds good. Thank you, sir. Our brother appreciate the call. Always let me know. I can help your Houston for all those vehicles. Let's go to San Antonio talk to Michelle, Michelle, welcome. Hello. Hi, michelle. What can I do for you? Question about some hybrid vehicles and give me a recommendation do my best. What what are you thinking about? Well, right now, I drive a Toyota Prius. But it doesn't really have the. Looking for. Carrying a hybrid right now Lincoln, m KC. Okay. The thing that I'm really looking for living in south Texas Air conditioning. Yeah. I don't blame you there. That's a that's a very good. I mean, that's a smart decision. Are you going to lease it or are you going to buy? Yeah. With the Lincoln certified one give you seven years warranty from the time when the car was new and one hundred thousand miles and that. Casey is super super nice one of my favorites in and one of the things I love about Lincoln. They don't charge for the hybrid engine. It's the same price as the gas. Now, if you're going used that's good news because the hybrid used and certified is not gonna be any more than one with a gas engine. So it carries over into the certified market. So you'd be I think that's a good decision. They drive great qualities good. Well it lasts as long as the Toyota. Probably not because Toyota's hybrid system is just hands down the best in the industry and has been for a dozen years. So the question becomes how are we going to keep this thing? We're gonna try to get two hundred thousand miles out of the battery system, you're probably not gonna do that with the Lincoln really good chance that with the Toyota, but how do you put a price on your comfort? And and that's the problem. So I drive both. Go ahead. Honda Accord hybrid. I'm the jury's still out for me. And it's great as Honda is with everything that they do. They never got their habits system right until the last year or two. And so with that said, we don't have the history there that we've got with the Toyota, and and and even with the Lincoln Lincoln it's been out for ten years or better. So it may be fine. I just I'm not gonna I'm not gonna give that stamp of approval until a little bit more time has passed. I will tell you what certainty the Toyota, we'll get you two hundred thousand or more, and I will tell you. I think that Lincoln with on the batteries. We'll get well past one hundred thousand I've got good diggers firm both in the San Antonio area, Michelle and their car pro USA..

Mark, you you just had surgery. We all scattered Jewish shoes. You and I go. Oh, yeah. You just had five puncture wounds in your stomach, and you're up there Dunkin on a real I get work out. Now. I mean, it's. It was hysterical. Did you see do were you there for the three on three the adults game? I heard you picking up teams me against everybody. But it was like Silvio lives. There's video of it for three minutes. The video goes on not a single day. Tonight. Let's go to wild world right now. A cigarette while he's trying to dribble a basketball. I gotta find that. I gotta grab it. Okay. So played against the kids was me Carmen. And was it somebody else? Gal gadot? I don't know. I don't know. It was just an old guy day. I think I got hit with old guy. This is what happens to me every suit like you said every Super Bowl party. I'm so kind of worried about making sure everyone's get something something to drink and place to sit and everyone having a good time. And then I just I hit the accelerator in the second half. And then everyone leaves and I'm still there. And so car says to me, I'm the designated driver, even in my own house. I have to take them up stairs later. Froman bed. That's right. Did you not sleep in your boots? No, I didn't. I just I you know, what unusual I slept. I woke up and just my underwear. The bottom pajama bottoms and a t shirt I woke up this morning Joseph driveway under the basket. Was spectacular. Thank you very much. It was awesome. As always great group of people. A lot of fun. Isn't it? Is it very eclectic group too? Because it's from people from different. What I love. I love seeing Sylvia in the role of dad with the kids. I said the Mark at one point I go, did you ever think I'd be running around with a four and a two year on all the years, Mark? He's known me. I I met Mark in the eighties internet for ninety two reminiscent about some intern days. We were talking about the marching Greco coaches tree every intern who's in the business. About thirty of them. We went through that. But he's a great dad and both your kids Mason and brags were both teaming up on you like they like dad, we're not going to bed. We. You know, they're just like Punchdrunk. Candy more candy, crashing them. Yeah. You know when you were picking up. Yeah. That's the best thing for you to do is to not get involved in the basketball was stupid. I'm usually really stupid and do idiotic things. I made the right choice. By the way, usually really stupid. Yeah. I really am. I doing here next year will have a different sport to play when the game's over. No. I wanted to ask here. Just you know, how long it took me to get the basket down standing in two feet of snow. I know trying to crank that that basket down to a level where everyone could safely Deng. Plus the ball was a kid sidewall with one flap hanging, and it didn't have any air trying to dribble dunking with a smashed, pumpkin. Yeah. Basically what it was. But you know, as far as the game when I had to go back today to watch the commercials and part of the halftime show and most of the game. So I could talk about it because nobody paid attention to the game until the fourth quarter. That's actually sat down and actually focused focused on it. You know, I would I would sometimes leave conversations and be like, I kind of watch this thing, you know. Yeah. Well, the Super Bowl commercials you remember it used to? To be like, a huge thing. It's oh, it's really really taper off. Now, it's overkill in our society. It just you can't keep doing yourself every year. NFL commercial was the absolute best the NFL one hundred was spectacular. Jason Bateman is the elevator operator in the Hyundai commercial was good the Washington Post was that was really dynamic meaningful. Very who point. Yeah. It was great Gladys. Knight was spectacular. Adam LeVine was the biggest loser. He really was now. Maroon five rages for showing up did they get ripped because not everyone loves maroon five or were they were maroon five fans ripping you know, what I'm saying? I think they got ripped for showing up because other groups boycotted the event because of the cabernet thing and everything else, and we're protests against the NFL being hypocritical by honoring Martin Luther King at the opening ceremonies. And then, you know, so I don't even want to get into that. But yeah, and they have time show was lame. I it was it was cheesy. It was just the same old stuff. Gladys Knight's still thought was great. And like I said some of the commercials are good. But if you're. A football. Geek, you love Xs and os. If you played the game or coached the game, you appreciate it. If you're a football fan looking to entertain it was one of the worst Super Bowls have ever seen. I have seen every single Super Bowl from one to fifty three. Even like some of the fifty five to ten games of the Broncos got crushed in. But think about all the blow the blowouts had my attention because I appreciated the craziness of their. Very well played game. Now, people are like, hey, you know, the patriots beat the Rams the same way the bears. Did you've got to immerse yourself in the whole Belichick thing in how they just shut down. One of the most prolific offense is the read like eleventh best, but I have to tell you. It was just as much Jared Goff, and Sean McVeigh just being on handle the moment as well. As the patriot. And the one thing that I hope doesn't happen is that people now all of a sudden this is the world we live in there. Now going to say, well, Sean McVeigh's most overrated guy on the planet. Look two years ago. This team was in trouble last year. He turns it around and. You know, they they go to the postseason this year there in the Super Bowl. Yeah. They got outplayed and Al coach. But it doesn't mean that Sean McVeigh is bad for the Rams or isn't a really great quality leader of a football. His young hip. Swag approach is still intact. That's still a really good team Goff looked like a twelve year old kid who won a contest where he got to sit on the bench and where jersey and watch the fourth quarter. He was stunned. I mean, he had no idea what hit him in. He delivered in that moment against the saints in the NFC. He did not do that yesterday and the Super Bowl duck that could could have had for touchdown. And. Yeah, I mean there were there were so many instances there. But I I don't think Atlanta's a good host city. I just really wasn't feeling anything about the Super Bowl. The three were Super Bowls to me, and I'm including yesterday's Super Bowl five, which we always talk about colts Cowboys and Super Bowl thirty four which is ravens giants. I mean because right. Oh, I was just turnover ridden horrible game. The Trent Dilfer Ray Lewis Super Bowl that was a lot of defense or no offense, Mark lake lake. Let me read you some of these scores forty Niners. Fifty five Broncos ten Cowboys fifty two bills seventeen seventy nine hundred forty nine chargers. Twenty six. You know, there were. So there was that era of Super Bowls. That were that were dog games. They weren't good game. Low to me. But this still Eldar attention because we didn't know how it was gonna end until there's like an NBA game the fourth quarters all the counted. Seriously. The NBA revenue MBA. I'm just saying you don't have to watch the game the entire game. Boy, truly Ataman beard is wow. Out of control. If he shaved that he'd like shave two seconds off his forty time. I mean, it's just like eight is really. It's unbelievable. So you say beard right seem at DisneyWorld. Were there? They were there today. Right. It'll lightsaber fight. They're doing with mega around the roller coaster gonna Vom. Yeah. Yeah. Look at you as a Buffalo Bills fan. You just can't take it Kanye I'm so beat up I've given up I actually have given up. I I've just beat myself into the ground. I was so depressed and frustrated angry when the game was over. I went in the dining room and another sausage. Throat. I you know, I was I was good all night. I'm just gonna just binge because I'm so upset. Go to work on any of the desert. The desert Carmen was raving about it, the desserts, not only from Portillo's, but others, make desserts. And that was really I compared alleys chocolate chip cookies to these store bought chocolate. Chip cookie. They're really good. Aren't they actually those are her famous cookie? Dough cookie. I don't think any of them were leftover. What did you do with all the leftover food there were trays and traces at my house? Wow. All right over tonight. Absolutely. I will tell you this. There's not as much left as you think really all the beef sandwiches are gone. We had a lot of the talian sausage laughed. Your lobbying pasta was gone. Lasagna? You said there was no need for that. Yeah. People did. Wow. No. It was. The chicken paper pasta. Great great spread really good. All right now, we're in the doldrums here. Did you see the not too early power rankings for next season already chiefs six to one fatal random still on job? This is not the ESPN power right now. I want you to guess we could do that coming up next. Okay. Okay, marching Greco's in-studio more stories from last night as well. "However, its body is so tiny a two foot tall bar now is a gigantic barn. Now. They generally don't have bodies more than fifteen inches long. And and they way generally less than two pounds. The very light two pounds actually a very big bar now. So they're mostly feathers long way for human looking alien is alien. I mean, okay. Sure. Yeah. I mean, I guess it could be that's one of those things where you can kind of you know, if you're gonna say for another planet. I mean, everything's up for grabs. Is it a Thunderbird will? I I I didn't notice Thunderbird was that came up one of the witnesses witnessed I forgot as an American Indian legend is The Thunderbird, and there is American legends from this area straddling point pleasant. The do have tales of these giant birds the big enough to swoop down and carry a man and depictions and represented artifacts images do resemble Mossman. That's true. I guess this things about in the woods for hundreds of years. Most legend suggests that Maas man's Thunderbird. Excuse me, do have the ability to shape shift into human form, the believed to watch happenings in human life. According to the gong legend thunder verge of the ancestors of the human race in of the protect or protectors of humans. I guess. You know, it could be you know, Mosman could beat Thunderbird in the sense that Mosman could be fucking, you know, unicorn leprechaun or anything else that we don't know exists toxic mutants. That's my favorite theory that Mothman is a product of this, you know, munitions kind of dumped it the chemicals the chemicals stored out in that TNT area. You know, did they create some kind of monster? If you listen to the Tra noble, suck you learn that, unfortunately, the forest and streams around that nuclear meltdown site aren't full of of men or people who who can start fires with their minds or three headed bears or alligator people or wing, snakes or anything cool at all pretty certain that giant mutant creatures especially cool ones. Rising from toxic waste is only the stuff of comic book legend and not real life. So no, I don't think that's even possible. There are some who think you know, if we found that Maas man's in angel. I I guess weird. Very not helpful angel something it's a demon. If it's demons not a very terrorizing daemon. I mean, didn't actually hurt anybody. Some people think a strange identified flying machine like some kind of experimental government flying machine that threes the dumbest theory, probably like if they had a Mossman suit back in nineteen sixty six why don't they have way more advanced flying suits now that we know about, you know, technology's advancing an exponential rate ever since then interesting, I think actually, maybe the most credible promising theory..

"So I think it's really going to be a toss up in the top who gets who's third and fourth place spots between Tottenham Chelsea and arsenal and Manchester United. So I if you do your final four right now Anthony who do you have Mansi I Liverpool. Second Chelsea third third and menu for. Oh, so both London clubs out because of injuries and arsenal. Just still trying to get their shit together. Under new manager is above Tottenham online, though, don't work. Well, that's a I'm sure we'll provide from Tottenham Hotspur world won't be too pleased about that. But it's well, he'll be fine. But all right. Well, Anthony, I know on Twitter, which everyone should give them a follow. Very funny. Funny. Twitter handle, what are things that have been bothering unicycle world, usually say hot takes you have some strong opinions on things are there. Anything going on in the soccer world that's bothering you. What's going on, man? Tell me I'm your therapist little out like I'm your. I'm your punching bag. What in the soccer world has been just like eating at you. Okay. Well, there's two things from the same guy. He's a Madrid fan. I went to college with him. He's always been to Madrid guy always fun to watch the games with them. But he said something that just wrote me completely the wrong way. And honestly wanted to drive those. What what was it? He said that Sergio romo's. Never deserved the armband. They should strip it off of him right now. And I was like what four champions leagues, and he doesn't deserve the armband. This man is the captain of the Spanish national team, a new one on the lose the arm. It who is giving it to surge around was doesn't have the armband. And he's just like yelling at me about how it Spanish bias in Rama's has never been good. And I was just like, wow. I can't listen to this anymore. I'm going to have a melda. Wow. I mean Rama's as much as I you know, he's a very decisive divisive player blah Madrid. Like, he's one of those players if he's on your team, you love the hell out of them if not he's the villain, and you hate the shit out of him. So I can understand where some people feel that kind of animosity towards him. I totally get it by totally see what you're saying. Like who who who's the next man up? That doesn't you know? I couldn't see Luca Madrid at like five or however told his manning the armband, so do you think there's going to have to be a reworking in the midfield soon with those players getting up in age. I think one of them will actually leave in the summer, and is gonna let you guys see Martin Odaguard. So don't worry about on the that's on the deal Madrid other. Oh, I first reported here. So just just a quick heads up. All right. Well, Anthony, I wanted to appreciate your time. Make sure to go check out to foot talk. When's the next season of suburban hood rats coming out next season's wherever hood rats, March March three so wherever Notre okay? So make sure to check it out. It's kind of like some shit talk in some fun stuff. If you're a US men's national team fan, he has an interview with Zach Stephan. You may have heard of him. He's the future and one of your best friends. Right. Like, you grew up together went to high school. If you want to get a little background about that. Yeah. We actually. To elementary school together played club soccer pretty much. So we're in like middle school high school will then obviously he went to like the US men's national team and the academy's and I was supplied glove just hanging out in. So a good buddy of mine, I've a nun in fairly views, I guess almost twenty years now. But yeah, the future. I mean Zack Stephanie nothing. They'll meet I saw your comments. We'll have a chat later. He said he was re goalie the camp, which is a very bold statement, my friend, but yet we're actually going to be doing a fashion, a soccer fashion, episode woods XFL soon. So sounds sounds pretty hot sounds like. I mean, you could get steamy..

"I have a lot of people a lot of people are not right now. So that's fair included saying Reno please stay the F outta my locker room don't ever come back. So, you know, I'm not a Marino guy, if I'm being like the popular vote, which is not no I like him a lot. He can obviously handle talent as well. As a limited budget, which we would give him talent and a massive budget. So I'd love to see what he could do. And then just a weird candidate that I'd feel like nobody really wants to say, I think Eddie Hal is a fantastic coach what he's been doing with the minimum budget. He's had I would love to see him at a big club like Real Madrid. Granted I don't dunno could handle the pressure of it because it'd be when immediately get out, but I would love to see him just get a huge budget and just have Real Madrid. So he could just sell any player. Like, yeah. You can fit in my system. Let's do it. So for me, it's Eddie how're Podger. Tina, really, I honestly, that's really cool. Because I I'm also a big anyhow guy, and you know, what he's done for bore myth has been absolutely phenomenal. Like the budget. You've been saying. I think that's a little too big of a leap as much as I love the guy. I wanted him to come. I I wanted him to come to arsenal. I would have wouldn't have minded him being the successor to Wang her. But you know Emory. He's done a pretty pretty good. I won't say great. But started off pretty great. And now he's just kind of you know, even though the big win over Chelsea. I still see there's lots of flaws with this side. And I think a lot of transfers have to come in. But yeah, so what do you what are your end of the season expectations for Real Madrid and top four in the league, and maybe semi final Champions League. Would that be like a pretty good season with the departure of your coach in Rinaldo? Well, first of all, I'm a Madrid fans. If I don't get a trophy all of a sudden upset. Okay. Well that goes without saying. Yeah. That goes without saying, but yet top four I think for sure they get top floor. I mean, it's there's no excuse for them and not get top or I don't care for it onto let you look at the towns on the team. It's just compared to anyone. Below the top four in lollygag. It's not even close and championed league. I access a really good team. I actually think that's going to be a challenge for Madrid into other slacking little bit in I XE as all that you wanna prove themselves. They Jong just said he's going to be picking bars us it will see with the lifts gonna do. There's just we'll see what happened in Champions League. But it wouldn't surprise me to see Real Madrid semi final or maybe somehow sneak their way into the final to get really lucky draw on everyone just decides. Hey, we're row Madrid. We're gonna fuck everything else up. But when the Champions League. Yeah. I mean, I until it happens and you guys don't win. It's like betting against the patriots like until they don't win. You know, like I'm not going to bet against them in Real Madrid time after time. I mean, what was your thing you were like wasted? And you said like we're going to win five in a row seven in a row, and like so far you haven't. Well, how many did you say sorry one the first one three years ago? I said we're winning five I was listed. But I just want a bunch of money to because I bet on Real Madrid the win the Champions League at the beginning of the season was like feel myself. I was like five and a row row. Okay. Well, I mean, it's not the craziest bet the bet on them begin this season. But you know, it's it's a it's it's good. That's a good bad. So I'm happy for you. My my betting friend. Next question. Do you watch any Bundesliga? I do. Okay. So right now, I saw something the other day. It was like the ESPN SPIC or Bleacher report where I think Dorfman is six or seven points ahead..

"But regulations when filling in for him keilor now must just got hurt after filling in for Courtois who was hurt. So. Oh, yeah. It's been a little rough Benza just broke his finger Marianas hurt Vallejo's her yada, yada. But it's just the I feel like there's kind of an ego going on in the locker room with the whole Iskoe. So Laurie situation and most of the guys from the core group have been playing with this go and like they've been pretty successful over the past couple years. So having Laurie come in is kinda do all these changes, which they are changes that need to be made. I mean Rinaldo is gone sedan left. But I feel like he's kind of doing it not in the way he should since efforts. He was just kind of interim head coach. And then somehow got a four year contract every six games, but whatever so Madrid is there in third place. They just pizza via which was a great win. And I mean, they're they're not obviously the down season. But it's just funny saying that as they're still in third place in one their group in Champions League. But with Real Madrid. There's just a higher expectation. So right now, they're not looking too great to what we've seen the past will three years, obviously. Yeah. It's just so funny. Like if we're not like literally winning everything every years expectations for LeBron. It's like either championship are bust. You know? So that's that's actually really funny that like, oh, yeah. We're in third place. We're doing in the Champions League. But everyone thinks were we were not good. But what do you think needs to happen? Do you think in order to get till like maybe competing for league this year? I know Barcelona are messy on a whole 'nother level in my league right now him and Suarez. But do you do you think it's a managerial change? I mean, obviously, you're giving up Renaldo and all his goal scoring. And like that's a lot of goals to give up when you get rid of a player of his caliber, if we ever see it player that caliber again him and messy. So what do you think needs to happen? Or what would you want to happen at the club? Or what changes would you like to see? So what really needs to happen is like I mean, this is very got the mystic, but maybe bail, actually, stay healthy and Ben's Emma, and they'll let snap out of and be like, you know, it let's actually. Score on that BIC big rectangle thing on the end of the field. So that would be mystic me. But realistic money hungry me is saying yo go by freaking Cavani if he's upset go take your chances on P attack. Just go get us a goal score team aware it Cardi if he doesn't get his contract. I don't care. I need to go score. That's like the panicky Madrid of me. But the optimistic is like all right. Well, let's see all the rest of the season goes so Laurie to me I think we'll probably be done by the end of the season. Unless Iskoe destroyed up leaves in we pick up some great signings. Like, I'm talking some glaxy codename are like in bat base inings. Reassure with the plan is I love the goal score. Commands a can make an argument of why we're competing, but I mean Champions League is always in the Real Madrid DNA yet to watch out for them in there. And then lollygag I mean third-place I don't wanna say I'm happy with it. But if we go below top for an MD pretty upset. Okay. Who would be your ideal managerial candidate, obviously, you just had massive success with Saddam, but who would be your incoming coach. I'm going to assume not Marino. I'm going to go on a limb and say, you would not want bring you back at the club. So if you follow me on Twitter at show Asia, by the way with guests on the pineapple. If you follow me on Twitter, you can tell I'm not the biggest Marino fan..

So tell me what is going on with the club right now in the league. I know you guys are doing fine the Champions League qualified, and you did you you perform very well in the champion's league. But in the league, there seems have been some problems of injury problems. So if you want to elaborate on that. Well, I mean injury problems is just something that always happens at Madrid's at this point. I don't like using it as an excuse. I'm not Gareth Bill, but a Gareth bale out Tony cruises out Marcello kind of in and out. I mean, he's still getting back from injury..

And it's like dude like this is so ridiculous. So go look it up. We posted it on our social media. I'm not trying to plug our social media right now. I'm just I just want everyone to go read this article because Jesus Christ So much just gold just pure gold in this article that, you know, I've kind of like I used to love vice and then they've kind of gone a little too over political where used to be like, these are just tell the news. And I still think they do a good job on some things. But I don't know if they did this as a joke, if this is like supposed to be serious, but the whole time, I'm like crying, I work reading this. So take some time read about this dumb as douchebag. He wants to bring UK hooliganism, which has been like, I I don't know. This guy knows like that. Hooliganism has been essentially outlawed or like is not a thing anymore. In the UK because they essentially banned it because the officials just told all the firms like, yeah, we catch you like your band forever. Will you get a banned from the stadium? You are never allowed to come back. So like, how can you be a true die diehards like football fan? You can't even go to the games. So again, horrible idea. There's so many better ways to popularize popularize pop. Make it more popular, right? Is that the word I'm looking for. I don't if I can another thing that we were stirring, the pot. You know, we love the stir the pot here at lads. There is awesome Twee by this guy at debris. No with like an x instead of a you with Kevin O'Brien a-. Twitter handle photo, whatever and he said top five strikers in the Premier League history. And he put his top five as Tyrian re Shearer Aguayo, Rooney and drug bust. He said feel free to debate me. But I'm spot on. So we usually post these kind of things just, you know, stir the pot, obviously, this is not what we agree with completely. We me and more indirectly gre- with many of the spots on their we'd probably have arguments against probably guero. I probably won't say Rooney. Probably like guero would be an iffy for top five. Even though like, I definitely consider him in the contention for five bullet us know, let us, you know, messages comments a listener who your top five are in the Premier League. Top by Premier Li strikers, some of the other names, we put out there were like Cotone a-, Robin van Percy Suarez. I think should get a mention who else of and disarray. Yeah, there's a ton. There's some Michael Owen? There's a ton of number nine that definitely also shout out to everyone who was commenting Peter crouch. Awesome. I love crouch -i, he should get more recognition goddamn legend. So yeah, that was definitely, you know, something of contention in the social media world in one more thing. This is just my own personal gripe. This is American football gripe. Stan Kroenke, it's kind of crazy that you put money into a team, and they end up going to a championship. You know, when you put all your money into one thing and seeing passionate and feel as though that you could put together a team. The could go onto win championships and resources kinda crazy. That's that's my own personal soapbox. God damnit. Stan Kroenke weird haired fucker shout out to LA Rams. Stan Kroenke owner, obviously, the LA Rams and arsenal. "Hey, guys. Happy friday. We have a very different show for you today. Just an interview with Anthony show from two foot, talk recurring guest. He gives us some insight into Real Madrid. Like are they good? Or are they not, you know, it's been a reoccurring segment on the show have weeks still can't figure it out. So he gives them insight into that. Since me Martin don't really watch that much Lalita. So he helps out with that. We also talk about some Bundesliga we cover a little bit of Premier League in Anthony. You know, he's a mover. He's a shaker. He when I mean by that is he talked a lot of shit and social media, which I appreciate, you know, Scott some grievances. He lays out, but since me Martin won't be doing this episode together. I know sad. I just had a couple of things I wanted to bring up and terms of soccer headlines or things I've been seeing. Honestly, I'm just doing it mostly for this article. I saw so bear with me. So I saw on Twitter this article posted by vice UK this guy from Sirius XM retweeted saying this'll be saying this will be the stupidest shit, you'll see all day caught my attention. Obviously the title of this article is I want to import British football hooliganism into the US. Okay. That's a lot unpack there, but it goes on. So vice UK spoke with Derek Diablo Alvarez cool who founded the Miami Casuals implants to establish a joint US UK unit to get revenge against the Russians for what happened in Marseilles. Oh, holy shit. Okay. So this dude who's from Florida, obviously. So this guy's a forty and he's Florida, man. You know, we love talking about Florida in the podcast, essentially, he's watched green street hooligans a few too many times. And now he wants to bring violence to the US because he thinks it would be a benefit to US Okker. I this is so wrong in so many different ways. One. We just had fucking Martin Luther King day the other day, and I don't wanna be the guy to be like violence is not the answer. But for US men's soccer. Are you getting me? Man. So oh, it gets better. So apparently, he's called out like Millwall, which is like the notorious firm as what they call gangs over there in England for being like, hey, brother, like, what are you come down to south Florida? I never see you here. It's like. Who is this guy? Like he thinks that like the UK firms are gonna fly over and go like fight in Miami, this guy so fucking delusional this. Larry's and you see a picture is guys covering tattoos. Totally douchebag please read the article. I don't want to spoil anything for you guys..

"Times. Well, this is where they got you know, where they got all the service food and everything like that. And there's this employee with bare feet like just sitting one they probably shouldn't even be sitting. But they've got their feet up on the counter someone snapped a picture of it. It went viral and people went nuts. And this is a shop in Michigan. That's not the that's not the type of, you know, two foot lawns you want on. Subway for that's pretty nasty now measuring it out. You wanna foot long list is exactly the size of my foot? So they're sandwiches or with extra cheese. Oh, the behavior. The spokesperson for subway says the behavior this photo is inconsistent with a high standards of subway franchise owners, and what they're supposed to follow top priorities include food, safety and cleanliness and this is unacceptable. However, local media went to investigate and this subway employee was still back on the job. The shouldn't that be and then then the health department came out, but shouldn't that employee be fired? I wonder if they're related to the franchise franchisee owner, but here's the bigger problem. If you're raising people to be this way be that lazy or that that disgusting. And so on aware of what they do for a living. That's.

"I pump that shit right into my veins. I am so excited. See Josie Marino, commentate Chelsea. Are. You kidding me? Release gives like post-match like thoughts is just going to be like an if Chelsea loses. He'd be like, you know, I know a guy for the job who used the manage. Turns into Romo and just retires and then becomes a commentator, and he's just brilliant commenting and makes people not hate him. I would love that. I mean, I think he really needs some new PR does. So I think that'd be the perfect solution. All right onto our Instagram questions Atlanta's podcasts on Instagram make sure to give us a follow. First question comes from Chris Davis. He says do you think show? See we're really get rid of Murata for he. I mean, Chris we really homemade not. But it's it's a strong. Maybe right now. But it's like like one poison for another. I don't know like personality. But like, you know, what I'm trying to say like one shitty. Poisoned for another shitty poison. Yeah. It's like you're getting kicked in your left ball instead of you're right. You know? Yeah. That's that's sums it up brilliantly. It's still you. It's just a different kind of sock. Still getting kicks in the balls. All right question comes from shoop AJ, the host of two foot talk. "And I seen what I'd seen pieces that he didn't want to know of myself emitting places that he didn't ever want mitt to or look at I realized what I had accomplished in my life, so far and that. They had done it on my own two feet. And it was a feeling that I had never been able to feel before. And in the book. I mean, you you will so say that you found it easy to write about shame. And not celebrate your achievements. It felt easier to somehow right not about all of the humiliating areas of my life, and certainly some of the trauma that I read about were, you know, really not easy to write about but emotional beyond belief. But I wondered if that was my identity, I wondered if I had used even inside my head even the stories that I knew but didn't talk about if somehow I held that is a red badge of courage that I saw myself as you see you were kind of a helpless victim that disallowed me. And it kept me from seeing the parts that they didn't like to see the parts that weren't a helpless victim. The parts that participated in the in the game of hurting. I needed. If I was going to look at the parts that were traumatic when I was a child, and I was helpless victim than a head to also look how I then participated in the destruction game. It was part of it. I couldn't have half and not the other half. And it was an important piece to say. Yeah. Well, there you go there you have it. But it has given us the world is wonderful performer to you were talking about being on Broadway. I think that was the the glass menagerie you return to the stage and you returning to hit in London. Yes. Tell us about that. Well, I'm very excited about this. This sort of came about this offer came to me, just as I was beginning that end of this copy, edit I mean, literally, we were the tail end of trying to pull all the strings together in time up in a big bow. First of all I have always wanted to play the west beat and the old Vic is always seem terribly romantic to me. It's Arthur Miller's it's all my sons, which I've always thought was powerful powerful play. I thought. Wow, this works out perfectly because to be able to transition let this baby go and walk away from her which will be hard for me to do. Go back into my world of acting, and is probably the only thing other than my kids that could really totally draw me back out. So. I'm really looking forward to it. Jeremy's wonderful director, I really like his work, and I'll be here, which I'm very excited about and it'll be cold and wintry. We've already talked about that. I I love winter. Having lived on my life and California can't wait for it to be cold and three and depressing. I'll be so happy in tons of the movie work. What's coming up? I just don't know. I have had so much on my plate..
