We don't have any slowing there at all. I'm looking at 6 82 out of benicia. Into Fairfield, once you get off the benicia bridge at a lightly traveled in that direction. While the creek interchange, though, still jammed up because we have a big rig that landed in a ditch northbound 6 80, approaching north main so the right lane is blocked in that direction. "Maybe you'll get the madden this week. Buffalo is at miami. I know steelers defense is really good. Joe disappointed by the bills. He i thought it was a bad performance. By the time you know they had a couple of turnovers on this is one of those ones. Ross where i am just. I'm not gonna overreact week. one. I don't wanna know what it means. The buffalo bills offense isn't great. But i mean i think it's i think it was just a week one kind of an egg. Lay out there and you know the the fortunate thing for the bills. The guys who you needed to come through kinda did for aladin have a great fantasy game. He threw for two seventy and a touchdown but he also ran for forty four yards to give you that little extra boost their so that was five stefan digs fourteen targets nine catches cole beasley thirteen targets eight catches stefan digs has now caught six or more passes in nineteen of his twenty games with the buffalo bills. He's scored double digit. Pbr points in all twenty games with the buffalo bills. Fortunately you're not panicking on those guys who you're counting on the news that we got last week. That was surprised with zach. Mosque being a healthy scratch. And it didn't really result in a huge game for devon single terry. The buffalo bills consider the run game. Just kind of name cillari part of their offense. I wonder if they'll increase that a little bit less this week. After josh allen dropped back to pass over fifty times But devin single terry had an okay game. Eleven for seventy two rushing free for eight receiving. I don't think he did anything that would suggest. They need to go back to moss. I know if moss is going to be active in week two flat tropical fantasy right now if you have a shallow bench of but single tarries more of an rb three. That was kind of the big surprise..

"After nine games about to if they were willing to part with two or three number ones to get out and get to shawn watson and they're telling you already that they never believed after after his rookie of the two was going to be a franchise. Because if you think one of those two cats two. Or jalen hurts our franchise quarterbacks you wouldn't even consider parting with three first round picks or five first round picks twos to to wants to twos and a starting player for shawn watson if you felt that one of those two or hurts. Were starting quarterbacks of those three teams. If the texans tomorrow called me up and said listen how about this. We'll take two one's tutus and either a starting player or third or fourth round. Pick you you let us give us our option. Who's the player or the third round pick. And if they offered me that. If i was denver miami or philly as much as i think that too and hurts could bring to the table. I would make the deal in a second if i was them. I don't know about the texans. But if i was willing to do that i would make the deal in two seconds flat. If the miami dolphins new watson for number one to number twos i would the trade would be over because they've got a really good team and now think about that. Patriots are going to be better. We know the buffalo bills or super bowl team. And you add to shawn watson to miami as much as i think two is going to and i think it's unfair for us to judge after nine starts but i'm just the way i can. Jim is i know. "Thing to come into my life so gratitude can work its magic and many many ways and but the greatest to me. The greatest benefit of all was that it's not about manifesting the stuff in your life. It's about the stuff it's about the shift that occurs in you. You become a calm person. You're less stressed you're happier. You are looking at your day through a prism of gratitude. So to me. That's the greatest miracle of all exactly exactly. I've seen this shift in my life as well. And i i totally agree with what you're saying and the fact that we in in my view amazing things are happening each and every day let's We are not trained to see them. We are trained Too much more to see the things that stress says that things that we feel threatened by one way or another or that might might make us feel bad In some sort of way and this balances things out so beautiful. Ian it makes us have a totally different view on the world. Exactly the the other thing. I wanted to share with you. That was another. A ha moment for me was that i love all gratitude practices. Don't take me wrong. And gratitude journals or a beautiful practice but one morning i was at a loss row thanking recipient and i actually i was staying at a hotel and i wrote a thank you to the to the housekeeper said oh sure. I'm grateful for her service. So i wrote in your housekeeper. Travel a great deal with my job. Thank you so much for all you do. I so appreciate coming back to a clean invited the end of the day so that night. I just happened to come back to the same hotel. And i opened the door and lo and behold there was a note from her to me saying dear miss sangita so she took the time to look for my name she said. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to be appreciative. Thank you so much. And i was stopped in my tracks again with another woosh and said unlike a gratitude journal which stays with a writer this actually touches the recipient and i thought maybe she was having a bad day and her was elevated so saw this beautiful like the wings of a butterfly that cause the typhoon at the end of the ocean. This is just a pay it forward kind of putting good energy and affecting the lives of you know and love it. I love it and There's this thing. I dunno if i'll be able to remember it correctly and that someone that feels appreciate. It will definitely do more than is expected. Yes and we we as human beings. We need feel appreciate that. We need to to to feel that we have meaning in what we're doing and people like you are amazing in in the sense that you you help other people see that. Their work is appreciated. And i do this. Also but they do i do it. I just spelled people. Or i. I ride i ride on either on facebook or i write emails but i should definitely start doing this as well and actually write a these kinds of. Thank you notes. Because i love the that. I can imagine how amazing it can be four for that personality they can actually take it home and As as the reminder yet and the other thing about the handwritten thank you know which again all these things jordan. I'm not an expert on. I discovered in my journey is the handwriting self. Is your unique fingerprint. Your handwriting is different from mine is different from my friend. Jennifer's and carries your energy as a result. So my friends. Because you know i was writing. Thank you notes every day. So you know. My friends received many of my ankles along the way. And they said elena when i open the mailbox and see your handwriting. I'm already enjoy so. There's something about handwriting that i may not understand fully. What i know makes a difference so again. i'm you can text. you can email. Those things are fabulous expressions as well. But there's something so beautiful about your handwriting. And i know that i've i've kept every single thanking i received from my nieces and nephews when the growing up they kept thanking us the received from me so i encourage people to i know some big digital age pencil. Pick up the phone and go back to handwriting. If you can. That's awesome that's awesome and by the way. Give us some ideas so you. You told us the story from the hotel room but i do whom can we. Can we send these distinction. Thank you notes. And which situations any of them. So they were as i'll give you some other mundane now situations for may so one of them. I actually broke down on the highway. there was row degree that came from a truck. I couldn't avoid hitting it. So i had two flat tires so of course on the side of the road and then of course the tow truck arrived and and then i was sent to the whatever tire center or whatever and what used to be a very negative. I would've perceived to be a very negative event in my life right instead. Became a source of lots of gratitude because first of all the day was beautiful. Second of all. I did not get really hurt. So i was lucky right and third of all. Everybody seemed to conspire to give me back on road in the nick of time. So the tow truck arrive pretty quickly. The tire center was right there. The manager of the tire center just stopped all the presses and got me back on the road and has said so. I was grateful for him and so i noticed his name tag right. "On his neck. In the days that followed. We heard a lot of American voices on the subject of policing, and we'd like to share one of the voices that stays with us. With many people. Noel King had this conversation one year ago in Minneapolis. Try to remember what it's like to be 17. Your whole life is ahead of you. Your feet Don't hurt. You can pretty much eat whatever you want, but the best thing about being 17. According to Shawn Richardson, who is 17 best part about being a 17 year old is more freedom. I'm able to go out more with my friends. I can do things solo freedom. Shawn is a junior in high school here in Minneapolis. School is fine. But what he really loves his track. He can run the 100 in 10.71 seconds flat. His friend timed it. The track season was canceled because of covert 19. But if he can run that time officially, he will have the school record. Distance running isn't his thing. Shawn is a sprinter. It's just kind of like I'll explain it. It's like Gathering energy and then just letting ago doesn't feel like freedom. It does it does. I feel like I don't have to worry about anything on the track. I mean, my mind goes empty dishes. You're just focused on that one thing that you want to do on the track winning Exact winning, running everything. I mean, I love everything about it. Now. Imagine what it's like to be state representative Ruth Richardson. She's Shawn's mom. He keeps getting bigger. He needs money to go on a date. He eats everything. Sandwich after sandwich. It can be Cereal bowl after cereal Bowl. It's just like whatever is in the house. It's there one moment and then you open the refrigerator and it's gone. Still, he's such a good kid for Mother's Day. He drew you a portrait. Now imagine what it's like to tell your kid that he can't do the thing He loves most in the world because it isn't safe. When Sean was young, he's got a lot of energy. He's a runner, and all he wants to do is be outside and I had to tell my little boy that you can't run in our neighborhood. If you're going to run I need you in a track uniform. And I need you running with other people, because even with that you could still be seen. As a threat. You know, he's got black friends. He's got white friends. It's like you can't do the same things that your white friends do. It's going to be viewed in a totally different way. And so of course, teenagers. They're going to defy their parents. But I remember having a conversation what shot after Had told him that he couldn't run and he had to fight me and he was he had been running. And he told me this story about how he was running. And this woman drove in front of him and just kind of block office space of where he was running. Left on her window and asked him Did you just steal from that store? Is that why you're running? Sean, How old were you? When that happened? I think I woz. Think, 15. Your kid? Yeah. And what is your thought? When a white woman asks you are you running Because you still something at that time? I didn't really take it like Oh, you know, I'm I'm African American and I'm running. I got stopped by a Caucasian woman and she asked me, you know, did you still say from the start? It was just kind of like, kind of shrug my shoulders and I was like, Oh, no, I didn't and just, you know, Finish my run, but like looking at it now, it's like That wasn't okay at all. You are 17 and the best part of being 17. Is freedom? Yes, for sure. When you look at friends of yours who are white? Do you feel like they have more freedom than you? Yes, for sure. But I feel like when I'm with them. It's almost like I feel like I'm really like one with them. I just feel like I'm more safe in a way. I feel like I'm more safe with more people around me than if I'm A lot. Do you? Envy their freedom. Mm hmm. Not really. It's a kind of yes. Not really kind of. Yes, it's not like he'd come out and tell his friends that it wouldn't change anything. So why focus on all this negative stuff? I mean, if I can't run in the neighborhood, it's like I can run on the track or something. You know, it's not the end of the world. It is the end of the world. It is the end of the world. Because If you can't run And our neighborhood. If you can't walk out Into the world and just be seen as a 17 year old boy who loves to run. There's something deeply wrong with that. John I definitely agree. Sure. Is your response to what your mom just said. There's nothing I can do about it. I mean, that's how it is how much you can really do. Talk to me about a world in which you feel completely free to do whatever you want. What are the things that you will not do in your neighborhood? Now that you would do if everybody knew your name, and you knew you were a great kid? Would go on more walks around my neighborhood. I would run around my neighborhood. You just want to be outside. Yes. Yes. Wanna be outside? Yeah. You know, people talk about how far We've come From being enslaved to be, you know, Reconstruction, the Civil Rights Act, You know, the Voting Rights Act. Regardless of all of that. We all just witnessed. Police officer Neal on the neck of a black man. And that Is a visual. Of everything that is wrong..

I want to know if I have any recourse there. Yeah. Absolutely. First of all. Did you tell your neighbor that the nails his nails are causing your tires or better yet, he's not cleaning his nails up off the ground. And you have gotten two flat tires. Have you informed them of this? I have not I You know the first time it happened. It wasn't 100% sure if that was source, But after it happening a second time and walking the property and picking up from nails and I asked the dealership to save the nail for me. Okay? Time. Yeah. So, um, I was gonna write him a letter. I just wanted to know if I had any type of Ugo. I would. I would argue, Yeah, Ugo. The only issue becomes he's not being given a right to cure, but I It's not a question. What's the question of curing? Uh, the second time, which means to do something about it first time out. All right. His duty is to clean up the street. So no nails air there. I would. Yeah, I go for small claims court and say you got two tires to worry about. I'd like my money and I suggest you clean up the nails. Because there's no question that Yeah. Go ahead by I just don't you know, you don't want have tension with your neighbors. And thankfully I have a tire and rim package, so I only had to pay a $50 deductible. Each occurrence from on Lee out $100. Okay, Really? You know, I'm gonna write a letter and just currently he would reimburse me for that amount. Okay, uh And you could do that. But the choice is gonna be worth $100. They have that kind of relationship that neighbor. Because exactly There's nothing worse than having a relationship with the bad neighbor now, probably an ax murderer. Come in your house a little bit worse, But yeah, that's a choice you have to make. But you know, if he's a decent guy, I would pay you. Would say, Hey, I'm sorry. I'll pay you. That was our fault. And I would tell the construction guys look what you did night. Have a house so with construction guys, and then he has the problem. Does he want to piss off his construction people? The tune of $100. But, yes, the law says that you can deal with it. How much Okay. Thank you. All right. I was gonna ask what kind of tires were talking about what kind of car but frankly, I don't care. Jose. Hello. Bye. So I took my car in to get a diagnosis for a sound that was making They diagnosed sound. They said. They knew the fix. They fixed the problem. Then they said, sounds still there. We can't let you drive the car. We have to fix the whole nother issue. That was another. So then the first issue was $800 2nd problem was $2000. And thank you pay. When? One way you paid him $2000 a second time. I haven't paid yet not paid anything yet And they said it wasn't drivability. I took it in drive a belonged, they said after working on it's not drive a believers of the all the issues that they've seen now. And then A fix that issue And they said, Well, we touched drove it after we fix it. And, uh um uh, Another piece broke and it's going to cost another $1600. And you can't even drive it. We've had to tow your car. To where I Back to their shop. So I don't know if there's any legal recourse for me because I was misled on what they're getting. You know, there's plenty of real. There's plenty of legal resource. You have a least a good argument for fraud. I mean, it is possible that what they did it was a legit But, uh hey, you needed to fix a sound. Think about this scientific sound. We fix it. That's not the problem. I need another $2000 to fix another issue. We fixed it. It broke Now We need another $1600 to fix this issue. You have to get the car to a mechanic and you have to have them release the car. Now they may say we're not releasing until you pay us the money at that point. You have to contact a lawyer, a lemon law specialists and because and by the way, you'll get attorney's fees back because that's what they're doing is it's a criminal violation. This is way beyond just a scam. It's straight out criminal violation, and I suggest if nothing else, a lawyer letter from them. And if they're willing to go to court, keep in mind number one Attorneysfees, I think are going to fly triple damages may fly and I'm looking. It depends on the statute. Depending on the jurisdiction on you. On top of that there are sanctions and their regulatory agencies that regulate that oversee these kinds of matters with car repairs. Go to a lawyer. And just talk to someone matter fact got a handle on the law dot com. How One Block Got Through It
"Over the past five months small businesses in America have been undergoing a mass extinction event. Bars are closed restaurants or half empty and retail is shuttered. Full blocks are slipping away. I wanted a sense of how this is playing out in the city I live in. CHICAGO. Not The one off story of a beloved are not the frightening toll in national statistics I wanted the story of one block. So I went to seventy fifth street in the Chatham neighborhood in the heart of Chicago outside. This. Part of the South side is really pretty. There are huge street trees flowers on the steps of the bungalows brick two flats al capone used to live in one of them. Many corners have signs from block looks setting the rules of the road. No loud music no car repair watch out for children playing. Even middle class parts of the side commercial corridors have struggled. redlining big box stores, job loss and black flight have left them full of vacancies. There are signs for businesses that have been gone. So long their phone numbers don't have area codes signs for furniture stores, nurseries, food markets, stores that sold beepers. which is what has long made this stretch of seventy fifth street, just east of South, Michigan, Avenue Standout, and what makes it stand out? Even during the pandemic. There's a handful of hair salons and barbershops. There's a dentist and a daycare. There's a cycling Ju. We're one day I visit. The DJ is wheeling bikes onto the sidewalk for afternoon classes. A little bit nervous, south. Arm. Being. There is a cult favorite, vegetarian joint Zoll Veg, which always has a line inside and if famous barbecue joint limbs, which always has a line outside. Large To dry cleaners where the pressed uniforms of Chicago police and transit workers hang under plastic and a Taylor who says online ordering suits him just fine. To never going to stop because you combat it fit to perfect. You're going to need some ultra and that's why. There's a deli run by an ex COP. I went there cover in plain clothes they know who I was and I got to a fight. So, as may have started the fight, my gun thought of mine waste and me and a guy is literally fighting for this pistol. There's a bakery, a frame shop and Francis Cocktail Lounge. The Bar has been here since December thirty first nineteen, sixty five muhammed leads to drop by Michael Jordan too. So we are the Regal. Beagle. You don't know three's company. So a lot of people, it is the neighborhood where everybody knows your name and we're able to have people come out and have cocktails on the front. So that has really seemed to. Help us excuse me you got to mass. Need, you have on the bads. Jada Wilson turnball runs the place with her cousin who's mother founded it. If you can't tell, she used to be an assistant principal at a Chicago Public School can't you put on your mask plays. Thank you. So, much. Appreciate you. Working with children really got me ready for this. One reason I picked this stretch of seventy fifth street was because it seemed on paper like exactly the kind of place that would have struggled to get through the pandemic stretch of black owned family businesses in a city that has been hit hard by. COVID. Nineteen. But what I found was not what I expected. Mid July virtually every business on seventy fifth street had reopened after the initial shutdown. Some were just getting by, but many of them said in spite of everything that they were doing. Great. I'm Henry Bar and this is the final episode in our series on the future of the during and after covid nineteen. Today, on the show, one block on Chicago's south side tries to get through the storm.

Optimal Living Daily
An Excerpt from the book Youve Got This: The Life Changing Power of Trusting Yourself by Margie Warrell
"An excerpt from the book. You've got this the life changing power trusting yourself by Margie. Worrell growing up on a small dairy farm in rural Australia. I learned early. That courage trump's confidence as I mustered up my courage learning to ride my first horse as he towered over me or at least felt that way that a couple of years later had trained the brave all over again as I mastered my second horse. A Wild Brumby. We won in a raffle. Who went from zero to one hundred miles per hour in five seconds flat? My lifelong lesson growth in comfort can't ride the same horse of course if you've ever wished he were confidence you're not alone. The biggest hurdle we ever have to face fairly stories. We spin ourselves about not having what it takes to achieve what we want mired in misgivings. Many people tiptoed timidly through much of their lives arriving safely. Life's end with a large gap between the life. They did live the life they could have lived if only they act themselves more and doubted themselves less. Of course we're all wired for caution cognitively bias to overestimate the risks. Underestimate ourselves man. Focus more on. What scares us like being rejected or exposed as a fraud than on. What inspires us? Little wonder one of the regrets of the dying is that they lived to safe and risks to little which begs the question. Is it confidence. We really need to forge meaningful careers and driving our lives or is it courage to take action amid or doubt fears and misgivings Bill Marriott. The legendary hotelier. Who took the business? His father had started as a nine seat root beer stand and turn it into the world's largest hotel empire believes it's the ladder during a fireside chat for Marriott headquarters. I asked him what he learned about building confidence. He threw his head back and laughed. I've learnt that don't have as much as people think I have. He chuckled ye confidence by doing and learning and making mistakes and fixing. Your mistakes is true. Confidence is inbuilt through. Knowing you can't fail is built through risking failure daring to act with very confidence. We wish we had and trusting ourselves that even if we fall short we'll figure it out and be okay. Martin Seligman a leader in the field of positive. Psychology said that positive self image by itself doesn't produce anything in cannot be sustained without action in other words. You can't think yourself confident rather a Soliman road quote a sustainable sense of security in oneself arises from positive and productive behavior and quote. Ask anyone who's ever done anything worthwhile. And they'll tell you that it wasn't confidence in their invincibility that fueled their endeavors rather their desire to do something trump. They're feared they'd fall short in their attempt or my case as an aspiring equestrian fall of my oars which by the way I did many times ensured their mission exceeded their fear compelling them break ranks from comfort. Time and time again sometimes. It was semi confident actions. Sometimes it was not in the gut knees shaking nervous action but always action as prime minister of New Zealand. Jason Arden said quote. If you sit and wait to feel like you're the most confident person in the room. You were probably going to be left by yourself and quote so too. It is for all of us. We cannot build the confidence. We like sitting safely on our couch. Waiting for a thunderbolt of unstoppable self-belief to strike us from above does not say confidence doesn't have its merits. However with the exception of cereal narcissists confidence waxes and wanes. Waiting until you feel confident you cannot fall short before you take a brave leap toward your bold. His aspirations in your work relationships and life Camino long long wait far more useful to focus their energy on cultivating courage or training. The brave as I did each time saddled up after a fall all those years ago after all. Courage is not dependent on being completely self-assured that you'll hit a bullseye. Every time rather as about daring to do something despite your misgivings or lack of mastery as research has repeatedly found people build confidence by adopting a growth mindset and wish they give themselves permission to get better as they go along first allows you first draft then a slightly less lousy second. Dina half decent third draft. No one writes bestseller first time. They put pen to paper. So if you've been waiting until you're one hundred percent confident you know exactly what you are doing or of achieved. Davinci like mastery before you set out. Consider the hidden tax of letting your doubts. Call the shots on your career on your relationships. On the value or adding or failing to add for others on ever unleashing your full brilliance on the world cheating behaviors proceeds changing self perception rather than dwelling on all the reasons why not to take action. Shift your focus onto your future desired outcome and then take some action any action toward it doesn't matter how small or insignificant your action is. It just matters that you reclaim the power you've previously given your doubts in fears then notice how you feel nervous. Perhaps but definitely more empowered because he realized that the ground beneath you didn't open up and actually it wasn't so bad after all and then tomorrow repeat and continue every day thereafter until whatever one scared you no longer does at which point. It'll be time to raise your size again by deliberating. Refocusing your attention onto what it is that you do want. It creates a subtle shifting your psychological state than by taking action toward it. You subconsciously affirmed for yourself your commitment to achieving it courage confidence life rewards action only by daring to defy your. Taos and act with the confidence. You wish you had. Can you ever realize how little reason you ever had to doubt yourself?
