Sell Me Your Climate Bombs
"Okay. So there are countless outdated old refrigerant tanks scattered around the country and Tim and Gabe say that the problem is you cannot just dump these tanks in the trash you wanted to take it to a dump, their knocking ticket they'll say, no, no that stuff's like hazardous material we don't want here. Material. The only thing you're allowed to dump, there is the empty tank when it's all gone. So you're really stuck it sits there on your shelf you have no use for and it's eventually going to leak through these cylinders cans into the atmosphere. If you're a professional like an auto mechanic or an H. back installer or if you're just one of those tinkers who hangs out at autozone, you might have one of these bad band canisters and. You could pay to safely dump the chemical out, but only a few places in the US will even do it and it's expensive. That's why they're canisters of this stuff just sitting in old garages rusting away and leaking leaking a greenhouse gas that is thousands of times more potent than carbon dioxide and getting rid of refrigerant is one of the most important things we can do to address climate change according to a leading climate solutions organization called drawdown. which is why Tim, and Gabe have come all the way to the gas station in middle of Nowhere Illinois to meet a man in a red jeep renegade named Geoffrey. Geoffrey. Geoffrey is standing next to a two foot tall canister refrigerant that people might recognize by its common name Freon. Jim In fact recognizes the brand name Dupont igloo. So what does this is? igloo Freon twelve. So where did you What did you find the material? Jeffrey says a friend gave it to him years ago Kim asks him if he was in the Business Jeffrey no but my friend was he said he got the refrigerant because he figured maybe he'd use it in the systems of antique cars that he was thinking about rebuilding, but he never got around to it. Nineteen years. Business on shelf shop. How did you hear US oft up on my facebook one day At this out of the blue, a facebook ad popped up that said, we pay good money for old refrigerant Jeffrey. I have some of that answered the Ad, and now here we are Tim and Gabe take a sample from Geoffrey. They do a couple of calculations where they add up the weight of all the refrigerant and have Geoffrey signs informs you're signing here that your. This is your material. Now you're handing over to us. You're also a test saying that it was sourced within the United States and not the US government or a native American tribe. Correct correct. Okay. And then gables out a wad of bills and starts flowing them one by one into Jeffrey's hand. Material. So. Shop. The Money. Except for the signing of the receipt and everything, it feels almost like a drug deal cash transaction in this dusty remote middle of nowhere. Tim wouldn't tell US exactly how much changed hands but he said it was in the low hundreds and yet this is Tim Gabes legitimate business. Their company is called trade water and they make pickups like this of all sizes from a one pound can the size of a spray paint bottle tweet forty, thousand pound job they did a while back where they vacuumed the refrigerant out of an old industrial cooling system after a bit of Chitchat Tim and Gabe wrap up with Geoffrey Geoffrey tells them. If he hears anyone else with spare refrigerants, he'll send them their way. Right on. Jeffrey how is that? That was painless was. Is If you find anymore you know where to call welcome you John Here In Europe somebody's got one of the. Transaction. Takes care. Did you hear that Tim just said we'll take good care of it for you. Yeah. Well, me and my how to Save Planet Co host we're listening in on this deal. Of course, we're on facetime with them and my co host name is Hannah Elizabeth Johnson. She's a scientist and she and I asked him and Gabe about that particular comment and you said we'll take good care of this for you. Because you you aren't GonNa take good care of it. You'RE GONNA destroyed. Exactly. Probably not We, don't really. We don't really talk about that very much. Yeah. They transfer all the gas from the little tank they collect into a huge tank that looks kind of like a missile and then they drive that missile looking tank to a fancy destruction facility. Essentially, an incinerator permited hazardous waste. Rotary, King Incinerator. So you burn it we burn you burn. Your like setting it on fire and we are. Do you see gas in flames? Is that what it looks like? We don't generally watch it being burned. View, it's see to their view window flame. Yeah. A big bright flame incinerating refrigerants at this special facility actually neutralizes most of the dangerous stuff ninety, nine, point, nine, nine percent of the bad stuff doesn't go out into the atmosphere time bomb diffused, which if you're trying to address global warming, this is a fantastic thing right after all this is Tim and Gabes mission. So, why don't they tell their customers about it? Well Gabe says, their customers aren't always on board with that mission. In fact, a lot of them don't even believe global warming is real. This is A. Farce that's been pulled by the EPA or a U.. N. and so people will hang up and say I'm not going to sell to you. I'm GonNa find someone else who's GonNa use this the way it was meant to be used. Now some people are really attached to their to their refrigerant. So now generally. Advertised we're gonNA destroy because we just never know somebody that will make people uninterested in the deal. That's interesting because it seems like. Is My co host I oughta it's all over your website, right? Like your website makes it pretty clear why you're doing this and if people are finding you through facebook ads they. Already know are you on the trade water website? Yeah. So. When we do these transactions, we actually use a different name doing business. Call refrigerant finders. Go to refrigerant finders website. You will see a different framing of what we do. The homepage of the treated water website has the words reducing the world's carbon footprint in big letters huge font over background of leafy Green Fernley. The refrigerant find a website there no leaves there's no mention of climate change. It just says we buy your old refrigerant and has pictures of men in work boots carrying around rest canisters.

Can I Move a Blue Spruce Now?
"We have a blue spruce growing in our garden. It's about two feet tall is it okay to move it now or should I wait until next spring? either. At two foot is just about a prime time. Now in that you have likely not root, Prune that plant or or or young plant Take. A sufficient amount of route with it whether you do it in this fall or next spring I'm inclined on spruce to say go ahead and get it done now if it was pine. Just for General Information I. Wait Until Spring, and move it just before gross starts that there's just a difference in in the tolerance for handling etc But as a spruce goes, I would say anytime now through into the Thanksgiving toward Christmas time because the plant is essentially done making food for this year. So it would it should move without too much problem and or early. March. Through into the very early part of April would be another good time in the spring. So if if football schedules yet you down this fall, you've got spring to work with when there isn't a football game to be watched and any special care once you have that that blue spruce transplanted will yes and let's just say that Theoretically you could go out and dig it and move it. Now today if you did you need to water today, you plan it next day and then wait a week and water heavily again so that you've water three times in that first week. Now then. assuming fall is anywhere near normal. We will have rains we will have cooling all of which slows down growth, but the soil is still warm and we're after route growth on that transplant embiid spruce as we're speaking of or other plants. So you need to water not to the point of drowning by any means, but I would say that every ten to fourteen days in this case, a bucket of water sprinkling handful of water would would be sufficient clear into the period past Thanksgiving because the soil as far as the plant is concerned is still warm. It's probably fifty five or sixty degrees at this point good for growth good for growth good for transplant. Just don't let them go dry.

A US Unit of Measurement Is Being Retired
"So we all know that the imperial system is a mess compared to the metric, and technically here in the US we use U s customary units which are similar to the British imperial system in that both have things like yards, pounds and gallons, but at least historically, the size of each of those measurements was slightly different in the two systems in the nineteen sixties the UK and the US, agreed to make their yards and pounds the same by scaling them against the and kilogram. This change didn't make too much of a difference for the UK but. US customary units varied enough that we were left with two distinct systems for linear measurement within the US customary unit system, the international system in the US surveyors system. Now, practically, this hasn't meant much for most people I. Mean you might not even be aware that there are technically two different measurements for feats like foot twelve inches we have two different standards here in the US and they differ by about one hundred of a foot or point one, two, six, seven, two inches per mile. So it's not all that much but for long lengths, it does add up. Over. A million feet, there would be a difference of two whole feats. And one group of people who really have to be concerned with this surveyors. Quoting The New York Times most states mandate the use of the old US survey foot for their state coordinate systems, which allows surveyors to take into account. Earth's curvature in their measurements. A few states mandate the use of the new international foot. A handful do not specify which of the two feet should be used. Arizona for example, is an international foot state but when employees with the Federal Aviation Administration or the US Army Corps of Engineers or the park service measure there they use the. US survey foot other problems crop up when surveyors measure from one state to the next unaware that the two states use different feats. In some cases large projects, employees, international surveying firms whose employees are unaware that America has two feet. Some surveying computer software will not recognize the existence of two feet and even hand calculators usually default to the international foots and quotes. Michael Dennis and Arizona based Surveyor geodesy with the national geodetic survey had to put up with this confusion and errors for years. Recently. He decided to suggest retiring the US survey foot and going to a one foot only system. He and his colleagues at the national genetic survey were already working on recalibrating coordinates of the National Spatial Reference System. So the timing seemed right to make a small but radical proposal. Displaying. Crumbling about patriotism in history, it was ultimately will receive an as of January first two, thousand, twenty, three, the US survey foot will be no longer. According to the National Institute of Standards, and Technology we will only have the international foot. Or. Really since there will only be one just the foot.

It turns out there unwanted visitor was a canoe Katie sometimes called a raccoon dog. To learn more about these unusual critters we talked by email to Jennifer Andrew, a member of the carnivore team at Zuid Lanta she helps take care of zoo, Atlanta's to to NUKII or and Loki. Zoo, Atlanta is just one of two zoos in the United States that houses to not the other is the Oklahoma City Zoo. Indra explained to new key our dogs genetically and morphological logically speaking they get the nickname raccoon dog primarily because of their similar coloring and coat patterns. The only other true similarity raccoons is that they occupy the same niche as raccoons do in nature even though they live on different partners. To NUKII range in size from about one point, five to two feet long that's about point four, five, two point, nine meters with a tail adding another six inches or one point, five meters they weigh anywhere from eight to twenty, two pounds around three and a half to ten kilos therefore can be golden great or reddish brown but their shoulders, legs, and the tips of their tails are blocked and their facial markings are similar to a raccoons including the black mask around the eyes. They're originally from eastern Asia including Japan, which is where the word to new key comes from, and where the animal is a cultural icon images of have appeared in everything from folklore and literature to anime and advertising the mythological versions sometimes called Buckeye Nukii, our spirit creatures, tricksters, and shape shifter's that love gold and are often depicted with a big belly and a particularly large scrotum. Many modern Japanese businesses, displays statues of to represent prosperity and good luck. To not the animals, not the spirits where brought the northern and Eastern Europe due to fur-farming back in the nineteen twenties it's believed some new key managed to escape and began to live and breathe in that region. The HABITAT, they're most comfortable living in would typically be described as forested everything from deciduous trees to evergreens, but they can live in urban and coastal areas they like living near water. When they're in the wild Turkey to picky about meals as forager's they'll eat anything from frogs, birds, and rats to berries and carrion that is vet animals to not have been known to forage in garbage cans or pick over roadkill areas inhabited by humans. But do life is a little different, not only art Niki given different food to eat including kibble hard boiled eggs, veggies and fish. But because they're naturally forager's and a non foraging, setting their caregivers look for ways to make feeding time a little more challenging. Andrew said, we like to scatter their diet throughout their habitats to encourage natural foraging behaviors. They also enjoy interacting with problem-solving enrichment devices that encourage behaviors such as biting, chewing, ripping shredding, smelling digging, and dragging.

Why Is There a Parthenon in Nashville?
"At first, no one expected the building to last. The Tennessee Centennial Exposition, which was something like a world's fair or Walt Disney world's epcot was held in Nashville in eighteen, ninety seven. It featured a full scale replica of the famous Parthenon from Greece the Plaster Parthenon. This plaster Parthenon which fit in with Nashville's ambition to be the Athens of the South housed an art exhibition over six months one point eight million people visited the exposition small when compared with the twenty, seven million, who turned out for the Chicago world's fair of Eighteen, ninety three, but huge for Nashville which, at the time had a population of one hundred thousand as a nineteen twenty one newspaper put it the general effect of the cream, colored staff structure with the brilliant colors, and the freeze and Gables, so overshadowed all the other buildings that when the exposition was over, the people demanded its preservation, and it became shrine to the residents and visitors of Nashville. But this shrine was not built for the long term by nineteen eighteen. The building had disintegrated so badly that it had to be closed for safety reasons, however, thanks to popular demand. The city decided to rebuild it. Isn't concrete structure in nineteen twenty. The Nashville Parthenon reopened to the public in nineteen thirty one. As with the Greek Parthenon, the columns on the Nashville structure are not completely straight, but have a slight convex curvature called emphasis. The corrects for an optical illusion that makes straight lines appear concave at a distance. The structure is also full friezes carvings, and includes a replica of the famous elgin marbles now known as the Parthenon Marbles. These marble structures were part of the original Parthenon, but were removed by the British earl of. And sold to the British Museum in Eighteen Sixteen, the entire transaction remains a point of dispute between Britain and Greece. And while the original Parthenon is in a ruin, the national version features the complete structure. A builders made educated guesses to fill in the parts. At the time of its reopening in one, thousand, nine, hundred, eighty, one, the only thing missing from this replica Parthenon was a statue of the Greek Goddess Fina. But after twenty years of small contributions from the public via a donation box at the site plus some private funding, there was enough money to commission a forty two foot. That's thirteen meter statue, the same size as the original. Tennessee sculptor Alan require to eight years to finish the mass of work, which was unveiled in nineteen ninety, and features a spear that was crafted with McDonald's flagpole is the sturdy core for twelve years. The statue stood in plain white gypsum cement, but in two thousand and two it was gilded in real gold, although some people have complained that the gilding makes Gaudy, it's actually more historically accurate. Injustice all that stuff that's going on, but we're GONNA talk about it from the standpoint of. How it has impacted us over the years you know and I I've been kind of by. Go on record and say pie is the impetus of this discussion because he and I. Were talking during another interview and I was like man. I want to address this, but I don't know what to say. I don't know if I can add to the conversation I, don't want to be another. metoo person just sort of piling on or seem opportunistic in any way, but at the same time you know like. You know and I you know I affected in the same way that many other people many other people. Are you know maybe more so than a lot of other people but I wanted to. You're pie. You were the encouragement to sort of just say let's just talk about. You know just just like go with the breeze and see where you see where the path leads, and I can kick it off with this sort of. The maybe maybe I'll start off with my my hesitation in why I was hesitant to come out until now and talk about this stuff, and what that looked like the main reason for that was like you and I discussed Pie. Was You know how do you? You know people like me in the in the tech industry people like me, I e African American males young that are nerdy that are in the. Swing it that t-ball. That's just too easy. Of course. Somebody had to swing at the T. Ball and. Why are you getting the? You're looking at the black motorcycle? I know you know this is. This constant under not constant I. don't even think like from that community I. Don't think it's malicious at all. I just think it's. More trying to be. I only want to say ignorant of it. Sam Darnold knows a thing or two about those back to English premier league, so we hit positive with most of the season done with exception of Liverpool they're. They're still to be decided. The top half of the table. Seven teams vying for five spots determine who will qualify for Champions League and Europa League which for those who don't know are the midseason European tournaments to be held next year. Roger Liverpool have clinched Champions League. Spot Manchester City has of course been banned from Champions League for Breaking Financial Fair play rules so that. That spot remains open despite city being second in the League. Right now. Arsenal wolves Chelsea Menu Lester Tottenham Sheffield all in the mix. What are you expecting to see from the top of the table? When the race for Champions League qualification, which is a bit like football's march madness, it's big tournament in which the best teams in the world. You're rail, Madrid, your boss Alana's. Para Sanjay Man's by Munich's compete all. Big English teams won't be in that for brand reasons for competitive reasons for commercial reasons and is. And completely wide open at the bottom of the table. All say English football has some Incorr- ellegation, which is if you watch game of thrones? It's a bit like the moon door. Teams get flung through that in baseball, the worst teams every year like the Orioles in the mall in which is flung out of the major leagues, the mooted, and in that place. We had the Tulsa drillers around rook. Rook Express and that is, it's a searing. It is a haunting. It is a savage palm of the global football tradition, and you have six teams at the bottom who are fighting to avoid what can be economically devastating their revenue roughly hauls flung out. The Premier League is savage for the fan base. One Minute. You are watching your team. Take to the glamorous fields, Manchester United and Arsenal the next. Round Brentford Luton Barnsley barring a miracle the Jewish using Norwich canaries will disappear, but there's five teams Aston. Villa Bouma th what furred and West Ham amongst them, two of which will go with them for the big story line. Meena is Liverpool Football Club. American owned little football. Club owned by the Boston Red SOx owners, F S J and their yearning. They're dreaming of a return to greatness that was once titletown by when I was a kid growing up in Liverpool. Just six points away from lending the title that they have dreamed of then. That is the great storyline of the season. On that note. This Sunday. The team that you root for I'm sorry. I'm getting a producer this side you support. Everton, we'll be squaring off against Liverpool. They are twenty five points clear off the other teams in the League, and there's possibility they can clinch the title at Goodison Park Against Your beloved Everton on Sunday

In a heavily wooded area paths lead to five separate ammunition bunkers, and the basis littered with dozens of locomotives left rusty on their tracks. There are several aircraft and radar bunkers. "So I think it's really going to be a toss up in the top who gets who's third and fourth place spots between Tottenham Chelsea and arsenal and Manchester United. So I if you do your final four right now Anthony who do you have Mansi I Liverpool. Second Chelsea third third and menu for. Oh, so both London clubs out because of injuries and arsenal. Just still trying to get their shit together. Under new manager is above Tottenham online, though, don't work. Well, that's a I'm sure we'll provide from Tottenham Hotspur world won't be too pleased about that. But it's well, he'll be fine. But all right. Well, Anthony, I know on Twitter, which everyone should give them a follow. Very funny. Funny. Twitter handle, what are things that have been bothering unicycle world, usually say hot takes you have some strong opinions on things are there. Anything going on in the soccer world that's bothering you. What's going on, man? Tell me I'm your therapist little out like I'm your. I'm your punching bag. What in the soccer world has been just like eating at you. Okay. Well, there's two things from the same guy. He's a Madrid fan. I went to college with him. He's always been to Madrid guy always fun to watch the games with them. But he said something that just wrote me completely the wrong way. And honestly wanted to drive those. What what was it? He said that Sergio romo's. Never deserved the armband. They should strip it off of him right now. And I was like what four champions leagues, and he doesn't deserve the armband. This man is the captain of the Spanish national team, a new one on the lose the arm. It who is giving it to surge around was doesn't have the armband. And he's just like yelling at me about how it Spanish bias in Rama's has never been good. And I was just like, wow. I can't listen to this anymore. I'm going to have a melda. Wow. I mean Rama's as much as I you know, he's a very decisive divisive player blah Madrid. Like, he's one of those players if he's on your team, you love the hell out of them if not he's the villain, and you hate the shit out of him. So I can understand where some people feel that kind of animosity towards him. I totally get it by totally see what you're saying. Like who who who's the next man up? That doesn't you know? I couldn't see Luca Madrid at like five or however told his manning the armband, so do you think there's going to have to be a reworking in the midfield soon with those players getting up in age. I think one of them will actually leave in the summer, and is gonna let you guys see Martin Odaguard. So don't worry about on the that's on the deal Madrid other. Oh, I first reported here. So just just a quick heads up. All right. Well, Anthony, I wanted to appreciate your time. Make sure to go check out to foot talk. When's the next season of suburban hood rats coming out next season's wherever hood rats, March March three so wherever Notre okay? So make sure to check it out. It's kind of like some shit talk in some fun stuff. If you're a US men's national team fan, he has an interview with Zach Stephan. You may have heard of him. He's the future and one of your best friends. Right. Like, you grew up together went to high school. If you want to get a little background about that. Yeah. We actually. "I have a lot of people a lot of people are not right now. So that's fair included saying Reno please stay the F outta my locker room don't ever come back. So, you know, I'm not a Marino guy, if I'm being like the popular vote, which is not no I like him a lot. He can obviously handle talent as well. As a limited budget, which we would give him talent and a massive budget. So I'd love to see what he could do. And then just a weird candidate that I'd feel like nobody really wants to say, I think Eddie Hal is a fantastic coach what he's been doing with the minimum budget. He's had I would love to see him at a big club like Real Madrid. Granted I don't dunno could handle the pressure of it because it'd be when immediately get out, but I would love to see him just get a huge budget and just have Real Madrid. So he could just sell any player. Like, yeah. You can fit in my system. Let's do it. So for me, it's Eddie how're Podger. Tina, really, I honestly, that's really cool. Because I I'm also a big anyhow guy, and you know, what he's done for bore myth has been absolutely phenomenal. Like the budget. You've been saying. I think that's a little too big of a leap as much as I love the guy. I wanted him to come. I I wanted him to come to arsenal. I would have wouldn't have minded him being the successor to Wang her. But you know Emory. He's done a pretty pretty good. I won't say great. But started off pretty great. And now he's just kind of you know, even though the big win over Chelsea. I still see there's lots of flaws with this side. And I think a lot of transfers have to come in. But yeah, so what do you what are your end of the season expectations for Real Madrid and top four in the league, and maybe semi final Champions League. Would that be like a pretty good season with the departure of your coach in Rinaldo? Well, first of all, I'm a Madrid fans. If I don't get a trophy all of a sudden upset. Okay. Well that goes without saying. Yeah. That goes without saying, but yet top four I think for sure they get top floor. I mean, it's there's no excuse for them and not get top or I don't care for it onto let you look at the towns on the team. It's just compared to anyone. Below the top four in lollygag. It's not even close and championed league. I access a really good team. I actually think that's going to be a challenge for Madrid into other slacking little bit in I XE as all that you wanna prove themselves. They Jong just said he's going to be picking bars us it will see with the lifts gonna do. There's just we'll see what happened in Champions League. But it wouldn't surprise me to see Real Madrid semi final or maybe somehow sneak their way into the final to get really lucky draw on everyone just decides. Hey, we're row Madrid. We're gonna fuck everything else up. But when the Champions League. Yeah. I mean, I until it happens and you guys don't win. It's like betting against the patriots like until they don't win. You know, like I'm not going to bet against them in Real Madrid time after time. I mean, what was your thing you were like wasted? And you said like we're going to win five in a row seven in a row, and like so far you haven't. Well, how many did you say sorry one the first one three years ago? I said we're winning five I was listed. But I just want a bunch of money to because I bet on Real Madrid the win the Champions League at the beginning of the season was like feel myself. I was like five and a row row. Okay. Well, I mean, it's not the craziest bet the bet on them begin this season. But you know, it's it's a it's it's good. That's a good bad. So I'm happy for you. My my betting friend. Next question. Do you watch any Bundesliga? I do. Okay. So right now, I saw something the other day. It was like the ESPN SPIC or Bleacher report where I think Dorfman is six or seven points ahead..

And where we are now. So it's very exciting. Anthony, my first question is going to be since me and Martin don't really talk that much. You know, Lalita all the time. Even though we do our best to try to give the people what they want a lot of people. You know, love the Barcelona's Real Madrid's. Let it go severe is. That's all the names of the neck Indian probably half the league. Anyway. So tell me what's going on. I see your massive Real Madrid fan Madressa. So tell me what is going on with the club right now in the league. I know you guys are doing fine the Champions League qualified, and you did you you perform very well in the champion's league. But in the league, there seems have been some problems of injury problems. So if you want to elaborate on that. Well, I mean injury problems is just something that always happens at Madrid's at this point. I don't like using it as an excuse. I'm not Gareth Bill, but a Gareth bale out Tony cruises out Marcello kind of in and out. I mean, he's still getting back from injury..

And it's like dude like this is so ridiculous. So go look it up. We posted it on our social media. I'm not trying to plug our social media right now. I'm just I just want everyone to go read this article because Jesus Christ So much just gold just pure gold in this article that, you know, I've kind of like I used to love vice and then they've kind of gone a little too over political where used to be like, these are just tell the news. And I still think they do a good job on some things. But I don't know if they did this as a joke, if this is like supposed to be serious, but the whole time, I'm like crying, I work reading this. So take some time read about this dumb as douchebag. He wants to bring UK hooliganism, which has been like, I I don't know. This guy knows like that. Hooliganism has been essentially outlawed or like is not a thing anymore. In the UK because they essentially banned it because the officials just told all the firms like, yeah, we catch you like your band forever. Will you get a banned from the stadium? You are never allowed to come back. So like, how can you be a true die diehards like football fan? You can't even go to the games. So again, horrible idea. There's so many better ways to popularize popularize pop. Make it more popular, right? Is that the word I'm looking for. I don't if I can another thing that we were stirring, the pot. You know, we love the stir the pot here at lads. There is awesome Twee by this guy at debris. No with like an x instead of a you with Kevin O'Brien a-. Twitter handle photo, whatever and he said top five strikers in the Premier League history. And he put his top five as Tyrian re Shearer Aguayo, Rooney and drug bust. He said feel free to debate me. But I'm spot on. So we usually post these kind of things just, you know, stir the pot, obviously, this is not what we agree with completely. We me and more indirectly gre- with many of the spots on their we'd probably have arguments against probably guero. I probably won't say Rooney. Probably like guero would be an iffy for top five. Even though like, I definitely consider him in the contention for five bullet us know, let us, you know, messages comments a listener who your top five are in the Premier League. Top by Premier Li strikers, some of the other names, we put out there were like Cotone a-, Robin van Percy Suarez. I think should get a mention who else of and disarray. Yeah, there's a ton. There's some Michael Owen? There's a ton of number nine that definitely also shout out to everyone who was commenting Peter crouch. Awesome. I love crouch -i, he should get more recognition goddamn legend. So yeah, that was definitely, you know, something of contention in the social media world in one more thing. This is just my own personal gripe. This is American football gripe. Stan Kroenke, it's kind of crazy that you put money into a team, and they end up going to a championship. You know, when you put all your money into one thing and seeing passionate and feel as though that you could put together a team. The could go onto win championships and resources kinda crazy. That's that's my own personal soapbox. God damnit. Stan Kroenke weird haired fucker shout out to LA Rams. Stan Kroenke owner, obviously, the LA Rams and arsenal. Just what the fuck like I wanna root against the Rams now. But I can't root for the patriots. You've really put me in a fucking pickle here stand. God damn it. Well, that's all I got for you guys. "Hey, guys. Happy friday. We have a very different show for you today. Just an interview with Anthony show from two foot, talk recurring guest. He gives us some insight into Real Madrid. Like are they good? Or are they not, you know, it's been a reoccurring segment on the show have weeks still can't figure it out. So he gives them insight into that. Since me Martin don't really watch that much Lalita. So he helps out with that. We also talk about some Bundesliga we cover a little bit of Premier League in Anthony. You know, he's a mover. He's a shaker. He when I mean by that is he talked a lot of shit and social media, which I appreciate, you know, Scott some grievances. He lays out, but since me Martin won't be doing this episode together. I know sad. I just had a couple of things I wanted to bring up and terms of soccer headlines or things I've been seeing. Honestly, I'm just doing it mostly for this article. I saw so bear with me. So I saw on Twitter this article posted by vice UK this guy from Sirius XM retweeted saying this'll be saying this will be the stupidest shit, you'll see all day caught my attention. Obviously the title of this article is I want to import British football hooliganism into the US. Okay. That's a lot unpack there, but it goes on. So vice UK spoke with Derek Diablo Alvarez cool who founded the Miami Casuals implants to establish a joint US UK unit to get revenge against the Russians for what happened in Marseilles. Oh, holy shit. Okay. So this dude who's from Florida, obviously. So this guy's a forty and he's Florida, man. You know, we love talking about Florida in the podcast, essentially, he's watched green street hooligans a few too many times. And now he wants to bring violence to the US because he thinks it would be a benefit to US Okker. I this is so wrong in so many different ways. One. We just had fucking Martin Luther King day the other day, and I don't wanna be the guy to be like violence is not the answer. But for US men's soccer. Are you getting me? Man. So oh, it gets better. So apparently, he's called out like Millwall, which is like the notorious firm as what they call gangs over there in England for being like, hey, brother, like, what are you come down to south Florida? I never see you here. It's like. Who is this guy? Like he thinks that like the UK firms are gonna fly over and go like fight in Miami, this guy so fucking delusional this. Larry's and you see a picture is guys covering tattoos. Totally douchebag please read the article. I don't want to spoil anything for you guys..

"Relatively minor but still an inch or two with a temperature near just below freezing. Cam make for some slick roads here this afternoon and tonight, but this is just preliminary. But the main event here is Saturday, and it starts during the morning hours. Probably I don't think it'd between eight and ten AM. You will start to see it snow, and it will snow least through the afternoon and like we were talking yesterday. The question is how far north is the warm air push before it stops because it is going to stop basically, we're we're drawing that line around interstate eighty so anywhere north of there. We're talking one to two feet of snow so Cleveland here he Bradford and all will practically all of New York state northern New England. Are you going to be using a yardstick to figure out how much snow is on the ground? But you get down into Washington county, maybe an inch or two and a prolonged periods of rain mixed with some, sleet, netted, ends snow. So we really are in a battleground here in Pittsburgh. We're talking at the moment two to four inches. Most of that coming on the front end here during the day on Saturday, probably mixes with sleet and freezing rain by evening. But then during the night as the center of the low gets off to our east the cold air comes back in and it ends as snow and is pretty much done by Sunday morning. But really, I'm hearing you tell me because you're the man really really cold. Like bitter cold though, by yeah. Yeah. The temperature will fall all day on Sunday. So we'll start the day around twenty three degrees will actually drop into the teens and it's windy. So.

They had done it on my own two feet. And it was a feeling that I had never been able to feel before. And in the book. I mean, you you will so say that you found it easy to write about shame. And not celebrate your achievements. It felt easier to somehow right not about all of the humiliating areas of my life, and certainly some of the trauma that I read about were, you know, really not easy to write about but emotional beyond belief. But I wondered if that was my identity, I wondered if I had used even inside my head even the stories that I knew but didn't talk about if somehow I held that is a red badge of courage that I saw myself as you see you were kind of a helpless victim that disallowed me. And it kept me from seeing the parts that they didn't like to see the parts that weren't a helpless victim. The parts that participated in the in the game of hurting. I needed. If I was going to look at the parts that were traumatic when I was a child, and I was helpless victim than a head to also look how I then participated in the destruction game. It was part of it. "Donovan Carolina at this time of year, isn't it? Yeah. For any time of the year. But yeah. And as Elliott just said, I the the boasts the highest total I have seen is that two feet of snow. Grayson county Virginia southwestern Virginia the bouncer southwestern Virginia, speaking of a lot of your listeners Villier with interstate eighty one. But they had tremendous problems there last night at overnight anybody people stranded on the I eighty one it's south western Virginia. Bristol area abbey did Virginia because again trucks could make it up a several of the grades the high high grades there as a result. Traffic backed up at a lot of people stuck there. How much power outage has blanketed that area about three hundred thousand people across the deep south of the southeast. Rebecca that this storm actually dropped a lot of freezing rain as far west as Arkansas but booth he'll deserve their significant power outages in that area. But the vote with a majority of them about half of the three hundred thousand total are here at North Carolina. That's just miserable for so many people because obviously, it's a very cold. They have no heat and for those of us in the north. We have the infrastructure. With the salt, trucks and plows to deal with it. But many places down there as you. Well know, Jim they they really are paralyzed when there's an inch of snow. That's right, especially for further south of the deep south specifically, but places like North Carolina 'bout Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh. I mean, they they have the equipment certainly the door wrote about but again Larry job. Would you talking, you know, two feet of snow in places? I mean, that's going to be a challenge anywhere and just tremendous amounts of moisture with this is as I say, it's still snowing here at the supreme rain, sleet thrown at places as well. So people are big told if at all possible, just stay home. And I think a lot of people have heeded that advice. It just have it left told obviously, many many schools businesses will be closed here today. I suspect probably even to tomorrow. Well, and the other thing is this storm was forecast. I mean this thing hit right on its four K. Cast. It isn't like it was a surprise, right? They they really did of. I think I think a far bullish job with this. I mean, they were talking about this a week ago and the storm had even formed off of the Pacific coast. And they said it was gonna move across the southern part of the country. Did Texas had a lot of flooding about PSA raid. There were tornadoes from this storm in the Tampa Bay area forty yesterday so tornado damage of the new port Richie area north of Tampa. So again. Yeah, they really I think a barbarous job forecasting. This storm at warning people that hey, get ready because it's coming. Well, we know what you're doing all day. Jim. Twain reports you'll be shoveling good luck down guys. You could use the exercise. Sure. We appreciate the update stay warm. Always a pleasure. Take care CBS is Jim Krasula in Greensboro, North.

"Maintain a two feet walk paths for pedestrians and on streets only on streets. Do you go thirty five miles per hour or less again, you obviously stay away from some prohibited. Areas like Alamo plaza lobby the main plaza market square the parks, including the creek ways and trails and on the river walk, and then the parking responsibility is also things that you need to consider. So once once you get off the scooter. Be good stewards of safety and put the vehicles or the scooters not along the pathways of pedestrian walkways. You know, move them out of the way make sure that they're standing up, but we encourage people to be stewards to to our safety programs. Within reason people love the fact that the Debbie's over here saying that, you know, we recommend going only thirty five miles an hour. You'll catch me half that fast. I'm just going to say that right now. But seriously, I don't wanna get hurt. Maybe maybe I'll work my way up towards that. We'll see. But you know, what we we've talked about all the rules and regulations, and that's important, right? Because you have to have rules in place. Right. But rules are always meant to be to be broken as they say. But this is a this can be a lot of fun and a way to experience in Antonio in a new way. So since you've read the scooter, and I haven't tell us about, you know, maybe somebody's first thing to do or where to go or something that's really fine that you found while doing on the scooter. So listening to the radio a lot of fun throw that out there, but Debbie go ahead. Sorry. You hop on a scooter, you know, you wanna tested a little bit. You know, as it are you can you stop it right away. You know? Yeah. So tested album don't tested on a safe area. Obviously and tested the brakes work test test that the the little knob that makes you go can move forward. And if it doesn't work for you than jump off and get on another one right because you don't want to write an unsafe scooter, so one of the places that you know, you can ride around in just depending on where you add. If you're at the Pearl, you know, just around the Pearl non and pedestrian pathways, obviously. But there are so many destinations that you can write you when you're in the downtown area. I mean, I could go spend an all day session with other wonderful areas. You can go see in San Antonio. I disagree. Then just be be cautious. I love the fact that you that you mentioned the make sure you get a working scooter because that would totally be me. I'm the guy that goes to the grocery store and always ends up with the Janke like car that's going to the right all the time. Anyway, glad you glad you brought that all testimony. Well, this is all good info. And again highly recommend you get out and do this. I am speaking to myself here, I need to psych myself up for this. But but go check it out. There's so many people that have enjoyed this. And enjoy the city in a new way. And you know what? Now that it's not three thousand degrees as long as it's not raining. Hope we will be. It'd be a good chance for you to get out there and explore San Antonio in a new way, if people wanna find more info out about center city about this where do they go? You can visit the San Antonio dot gov website under center city development, operations department backslash doctors vehicles. That's a good source of information for the doctor's vehicle program. What the vendors need to know that are trying to reach out to San Antonio for their vehicles to be dropped off. And also for pedestrian safety. There's a wonderful PowerPoint in there for that. You can look at and you can always call three one one, and they can direct you exactly where to go. Look for this information on the city website. But yes, the CD website would be the the place. That I would recommend people. And fun. Fact, Debbie wrote a scooter all the way here from downtown all we have twenty one. Okay. All right, Debbie. Thank you so much for coming in today. We appreciate it. Thank you..

"So officially by the way we stop this. This was like think I was talking to leave the opposite of the path is a slippery slow. Okay. You can step off the path for ten minutes for one day for one week, but keep in mind the more you're the more time you spend. Slid. It's the slippery slope. So boom, unless if your whole mindset is to drink more just because it tastes good. No exercise, no this, but you're, you're, that's the wrong path. You're going in the wrong direction here. A foot on the slippery slope at that point. Yeah. And you, you could phasing. They're only that tastes good, boom, same reason, but you're not. You're saying your pizza. You're two feet are off to mock one foot on the path mocking working out. You're on the path. Okay. Real quick because we're getting crazy here. We got Menchaca chip, we got peanut butter chocolate, Dave Burkes favourite, Mench officers, my favorite. What's your favorite mint. Minute, but you mix them 'cause you're psycho well, and then now new to new flavors are out. Vanilla gorilla and we got a chocolate which is called the darkness. Whenever gorilla I was like, hey, no, we need to make it vanilla gorilla. And then he, he liked paused texting. And he's like, wait, seriously. And I was like, yes, and he made a little crazy looking vanilla grill a little white Grenet guerrilla. So anyways, vanilla gorilla is the name and the chocolate of course, is called darkness. And if you don't know, there are layers to both those comments. If you know about the darkness that know that one. And if you know if you know life when you can figure out the vanilla aroma. Yes, these are all impeccable things can impeccable that might not be the correct word, but they are impeccable things to stand. Keep you on the path. Plenty percent. Indeed, hundred percent also chocolate stores called Jaakko store. This.

"The nfl closing in potentially on fixing the catch will once and for all the owners have final say next week at least twenty four of them have to agree on any changes to any rules the catch ruled front and center in that discussion the competition committee unveiling its final proposal as introduced by our river on the senior vp of officiating who frankly created a lot of this mess by by applying a replace standard that maybe wasn't the one that was intended last year the requirements of the catch rule as proposed by the competition committee one you've gotta have control the football to you gotta have two feet or another body part down double death third this is the one that causes the problems this is the one that creates the issues the time element how long must you have the football in your possession and both feet on the ground before it becomes a catch if you get instantly blown up sir a defensive player in the ball comes out then it's not a catch so to complete the process there are three ways you can do it one take a third step to reach or extend for the line to gain which would be for a first down or for the goal just put the ball toward where you're trying to take it or the ability to perform such an act which is inherently subjective and i think could cause problems if they don't officiate it properly but i like the fact that there's objectivity that's been pushed onto this chris because we all know if a third step is taken and that would have made the dez bryant non catch from the playoffs a couple of years ago a catch and we all know when someone lunches or reaches or extends like jesse james did week fifteen of twenty seventeen against the patriots that steelers non catch would have been a catch so i like it i'm just concerned about that subjective catchall wiggle room and how it could be possibly misapplied when it's time to go with replay review i don't want replay review to continue to take away what we all think our catches on the field agreed with you there i mean they simplified the rule and just stop making a rocket science.

"A second foot was on the line i think in the vast majority of regular season games that would not have been a catch i think what happened on that play i mean this honestly i think what happened on that play was nfl in new york i think they said we cannot have another touchdown taken off the board on in favor of the patriots because everybody already believes were buys i i honestly think this i think they said we all we believe that everybody out there is believes that were biased in favor of the patriots because of what happened against the jets because of what happened against the bills and in particular because what happened with the jesse james catch and i think they changed what would otherwise have been the rule to say that that was a catch22 i don't think that was a catch22 under existing nfl rules jason martin agree or disagree tony agree said so on twitter as did a lot of other people i think that it should be a catch but i don't think based on the rule and the way it's been applied especially this season it was a cat so i was very surprised that had held up as a touchdown la you agree with both of us that that was not a catch based on the way that the nfl is applied the rule that talk about the corey clinic catch the touchdowns a great throw from nick falls should have been a touchdown if he caught it cleanly but he juggled it a little bit uh the ball moved it was not like put away and by the time he put the ball away his second foot was on the out of bounds line at the back of the end zone to you guys agree with me watching it why did you expect it to come off definitely i i was stunned when they they called it the place stand do you agree that the nfl basically just said hey we can't do this because there's already the.
