"Been able to do. 12 pitch outside two balls, two strikes. About that played World Series that year, and obviously we know the history. These two teams in that 2017 World Series. Taylor homered in the World Series. Just headache really productive year. This is a guy that also remember started as a shortstop. He plays all over the place now center field. Left field, Second day shortstop Really kind of an under the radar super utility guy. Two balls, two strikes. Climbs back into face, Jake Odorizzi. Already given up two home runs here in the first 22 on the way low and outside, backhanded full count and singing, with Kiki Hernandez leaving for the Red Sox. I think it's put more importance on Chris Taylor's role. Yeah, There's no question That's a great point. Kiki Hernandez, especially his versatility, really good defensively, anywhere you.

"Named megan re pino who just quite simply hates this country she and most of if not all of her Teammates on the us women's national team routine routinely kneel during the playing of the national anthem Or the presentation of our great colors the stars and the stripes. She has publicly advocated for support of this position By supporting the originator of it from five years ago quarterback colin kaepernick an avowed communist supporter. A castro fan who believes that the united states is a systemically racist country. Sodas meghan repeal no so do her teammates on the us women's national team. Now they played a game in the qualifiers for the For these olympics and again not having watched a single kick all i can do is look at scoreboard. They lost badly three. Nothing to switzerland or sweden or somebody. I don't care whoever they are. I cheered for them because they were beating up on people who hate my country even though they were wearing the colors that represent my country. You see. I believe in the mathematical equation of a negative. Negative is a positive if a negative anti-american Like meghan were. Pinot is speaking ill of my country. I am going to be negative towards her and root for her opponent. And that makes me a proponent of my country. Because i don't want anti americans representing america so mega on the soccer team. It was pretty much guaranteed because of the best team on the planet or have been for the last ten years or so that they were going to win a gold medal and then during the gold medal presentation at the tokyo olympics would probably have taken in the or d'amato and other some sort of a protest to tell the world that america is oppressive toward minorities or toward gay people or toward whatever their their agenda is the follow up to that loss to switzerland or sweden was a game in the quarterfinal round. Podcast Excerpt from Led Zeppelin - "Achilles Last Stand"

"So in september of nineteen seventy five robert plant still in a wheelchair joined jimmy page in southern california to write some new songs bass player john. Paul jones and drummer. John bonham would join them not long after once. They finished rehearsing most of the material in california. The band then relocated to music land studios in munich germany to record the album in november. The challenge was that the rolling stones had already booked the same studio for december. Which left led zeppelin with about two weeks to record the whole album. Jimmy page who not only played all of the guitar parts but also wrote virtually all of the music and produced. The album was working eighteen to twenty hours a day on it in the end they ran out of time. And jimmy had to ask mick jagger for two more days. In the studio to finish up jagger gave him the two days and jimmy page almost by himself recorded all of the overdubbed seven songs worth in one single night. And then jimmy. An engineer keith. Harwood mixed the whole album. The next day the album would be named presence and it was released in march of nineteen. Seventy six robert plant described this struggle to make the presence album as our stand against everything our stand against the elements against chance. We were literally fighting against existence itself. Unlike every other led zeppelin album. There are almost no acoustic instruments on presence at all. No keyboards no mandolins or recorders. No acoustic ballads. This is an album dominated by jimmy page's electric guitar wizardry and achilles last stand may be the pinnacle of his guitar playing and arranging genius achilles. Last stand is the first track on the album opening the record with a slow fade in on jimmy. Page's guitar played on his legendary gibson. Les paul nicknamed number one. The part is doubled and then panned left and right almost imperceptibly in the background there. You can hear john. Bonham hit a few notes on a symbol and with one hit of a snare drum into the song.

Gun Violence in America: Newark

"For decades newark new jersey was listed among the country's most dangerous large city. Going to begin with that breaking news in newark. Police are confirming. This was a targeted shooting. Deadly shootings in newark. In less than two days the city of about two hundred and seventy thousand six just on the other side of the hudson river from new york and had the nation's third worst murder rate for large cities in two thousand thirteen or almost fifty consecutive years newark had been in the top ten most violent city. List's akilah arouses the president of the newer community street team. A group that works to reduce crime through community outreach cheryl says by the nineteen sixties newark and particularly its communities of color suffered under the weight of poverty discrimination and violence and it was made worse when crack. Cocaine hit the street. In the nineteen eighty. All of us agree that the gravest domestic threat facing our nation today is drug eighties. With the crack epidemic hit urban communities across the country it decimated newark as it decimated most black neighborhoods across country. Trauma was allowed to fester in ripple and and so we saw the impact of of those policies around the world drugs and world violence drugs or menacing our society they're threatening our values and undercutting our institutions how it impacted like kind of young black men and also communities of color all across the country newark was no not excluded from that but starting in two thousand fourteen things began to change newark new jersey tonight. Tatting a big drop in crime and cheryl says with the election of mayor razz baraka. The city took a new approach immediately. Started the work on building out. This complementary strategy to policing the newark community street team as he at the same time started to doing some reform within the police department. The raka broad public safety under one umbrella police fire and other safety groups under a newly created department of public safety. A move to the city says help simplify operations and reduce costs but it would take more than that to see lasting change. There has been progress helped. In part by a legal settlement in two thousand sixteen the city of newark reached an agreement with the department of justice following an investigation into newark. Police

Dr. Phil McGraw Talks Transitioning Out of the Pandemic

"What practical advice do you have for people. because i. i think that you're right. I think that people were under the delusion that it was gonna be pandemic one minute no pandemic the next minute life was going to go back to normal. We were all gonna be okay. We were going to put it in the rear view mirror and much like that convertible we were just gonna fly off into the sunset. Well i'm glad you re say that. Because i described the circumstance and failed to answer your question. I need to answer your question. It's like what advice. Can you give the people in. I believe in successive approximations. It's kind of like if people have a tremendous fear of snakes. You start out by getting them really relaxed and then give the least threatening symbol of the snake you possibly can and see if they can handle that and then they can then you move to the next approximation of a snake and then the next and if they get anxious you back up a little bit you you move by successive approximations until they can not recklessly but safely be in the presence of the snake without running through late last window to escape and i think that's what needs to happen here. Don't expect yourself to leap tall buildings in a single bound. What you need to do is say okay. Well what can i feel comfortable doing. start with. Maybe it's interacting with people that i know their history and know their pattern. So maybe it starts with having a couple or a few couples over and you interact where you need it to track at the high school and you walk around together some. I know several businesses in. La where they're starting to go to work two days a week. They started ease back into it. I've talked to so many of them. Personally they said the rewards that have come from that have overwhelmed the anxiety they had about going in the first day. Everybody was looking at each other like they don't know what to say. And it's like wow. This has been crazy. You can only say that like ten times and then it's like what are we talking about now but you start out with something. You're comfortable with handling. Then you move to the next level then you move to the next

Working From Home: Get Your Hybrid Schedule Right

"Of organizations are moving people back into physical offices at least part of the time but there is a lot more flexibility now than in the past so this can be a great opportunity to consider how you work best and what might make your work life balance possible. This episode was inspired by a question. I am getting a lot. these days. People note that their organizations want them to work in the office three days per week and at home two days per week. So which days would they like to work from home on some level. This isn't quite the right question. True flexibility means working from home when it works. Best for you which could change week to week this week. Your kid has a special lunch at school on wednesday so it would be good to work from home that day so you can dart over and back without losing too much work time or maybe you look at the traffic tuesday morning and see that there's a gigantic star on the bridge. You have to take to get to the office rather than sit in a solid hour of traffic. You decide that. That is a good day to work from home. But i know a lot of teams like to coordinate in-office coverage or when would be best for meetings and many people like to create a weekly rhythm that they can plan on. So i understand the impulse to designate. Which days will be worked from home days. That just leaves the question which days my first bit of advice don't automatically pick fridays. This is probably the most common choice and pre pandemic. it was basically the only day. Many places would allow people to work from home but friday tends to end earlier anyways so if it helps your work life balance to be home earlier you will automatically do that on fridays. You want to find different days where your work life balance could be improved. If you've an awful commute my choice would be to work from home. On tuesdays and thursdays this can make a bad commute more bearable. Because you never have to do it twice in a row.

Does the 4-Day-Week Really Work?

"I have been such a fan of the day workweek for ever. The quality of life improvement working for longer days instead of five regular days. Were you have three days away from the office versus two days away from the office and i say office i mean from work. I think is incredible and you may have heard. They've been a lot of news. Reports about how iceland. His experimented with four day workweeks. And they believe it's been a massive success that they've actually had higher productivity it companies in iceland by doing the four day week instead of the five day week and i hope that as employers have seen that flexibility still gets the job done and retaining workers is becoming harder and harder thing. They giving people more flexibility in their lives and four ten hour days. Let's stay instead of five eight hour days. It's the same number of hours at work but when you think about that thing. That was all corporate speak Five years ago or whatever work life balance and companies would say. But they didn't mean it but when you have somebody who's got three days threefold as they can do whatever i think about the people who work in jobs where they work Three longer days on and then they have three days off places that are seven day places. How much they love the three and three in this case. We're talking about four on three off. I mean it's something that. I hope that the bosses at various places will see the wisdom of in even for themselves. Having more time with family with friends. It will be a fuller life a better career doing that. And i think people are better workers when they have more downtime. Like that

How Pat Boone Offered His Life to Christ

"My guest. Today is mr pat. Boone pat boone. My friend welcome to this program. Lets me it's radio so feel free to talk and listen pat. I gotta tell you. I got to tell my audience just to set them up for what we're gonna discuss. I had the privilege we were in dallas together at the are a couple of weeks ago. my daughter and i had the joy of spending some time with you At that dinner there was a special dinner and Then album and i might producer. Were in the room The next day. I think it was two days later when you got a very special award and that got me thinking about you and your career and i said i want to have you on this program to talk about your career. Talk about anything you want. But that evening was so special pat. I was sitting there watching. They had put together a beautiful video. Package introducing you and your career before they brought you up on the stage and to be reminded of all the things that god has used you to do over the years. It was overwhelming. I said i want my audience especially younger folks. Who don't know you to know about this stuff. And then when you gave your speech i thought this is getting more ridiculous because it was one of the most moving beautiful speeches pat. It was amazing what you said. So we're going to put that on my youtube channel my personal youtube channel so people can watch it but let's just start there pat. How do you. i mean that that was. That was an amazing evening. What was your response. Or what were you feeling that evening to get this lifetime. Legend award well. It's ila mixture of feelings. Erica of course Happy that i was given being given an award and singled out amongst a lot of other people who i feel sure more worthy but very emotional because as you heard me say and i won't say at all is my life was getting underway in my late teens. I was asking god. This was personal just between me and him to use my life and some way that that would please him that would serve his purpose. We're up in the attic. You were sixteen years old or something like that. Yeah yeah about sixteen. I had claimed this raw unfinished attic. Full of kinda junk. That's everybody's excuse at my penthouse. Because my brother he was younger than me. We'd been sharing this double bid and our modest home in nashville for years and of course we were. We loved each other. We were brothers but each of us would like to head the bed and the privacy to himself when you hit sixteen. You're a man you want your own room so you head up to the attic. I understand so. I asked mom and dad if i could have the attic. And it's well. It's just an attic and i said yeah but there's room and i can put caught up there and it'll be my place and nick can have the double bed here downstairs and in the bedroom. So that's what we did. And i will say that being up there alone lot of the time i could study up there had light. It was raw. It was nobody people would have felt. Sorry for me. I guess but i enjoyed it because it was mine and i was. I had the privacy. So i used some of that time as a young christian to talk to god and just say i. I don't know where this road. I'll look out the window up this curving road out the window of the advocate. It went up the hill and around and around the bend and it was like a an assembly assembly or a parable to me about my life. My life is going around a bend. I don't know where i'm going. But god please use me in some way that will serve you and will bless all the people. It was a simple prayer. And i didn't know what i was asking but but i met it and i repeated it and and then i'd come down and have breakfast and go to school and I just never forgot that. I had pledged to myself. That what i didn't know what i didn't tell you i didn't mention that night because i'm the oldest of four kids and i've been blessed than many ways beyond my brother and two sisters. I love him and they love me. And we're very close. But i was singled out and i asked my mama since i was the first born. Did you ever do when. I read about little samuel. And and and his mom who he couldn't even have a child and god miraculously gave her the child then she raised him to heaven and and gave him to god. I said. Did you ever do anything like that with me. And she teared up. She'd never told me she said yes. On when you were just an infant Do before the lord and said he's yours lord using for your purposes. She never told me that until i asked her. As a you know in my fifties. I never knew she had taken her. First born son and like hannah and samuel just raised me up and said take him lord. He's yours so with all of my failings and faults and mistakes all through the years and i made plenty of people who know me know about him. God is blessed in us and directed my life and i've had that sense that That he had a purpose for me. Well it's it's just overwhelming and again you know for for people especially younger people tuning in who don't know when i mentioned to my cousin in greece Who i guess he's just seventy this year that That i had become friendly with you. He couldn't believe it. He thought pat boone. What he's in greece. But i mean the whole world of certain generations knows you knows that you were a recording star hitting every every bell that could be wrong top number one hits everything movies everything and of course younger people. Today they would. They would have no idea about that. So i said i wanna go over your career because you talked about this about giving your life to god having no idea. Let's be honest what what lies ahead. And what lay ahead for you. You met the queen of england twice. You met everybody. We can possibly think of Elvis you're friendly with all these people. Every bob hope whoever it is it is a staggering career. That you've had. And i just wanna go backwards and let me just ask you said you know the queen of england so you met the queen of england twice it's hedge. It's an embarrassment. It was because i met her twice. The second time was when i was deeply deeply embarrassed. the first time i was in college at at columbia university had transferred from north texas state to columbia was having hit records and my career was taking off an astonishing way so in college. You're having hit records and your careers taken off. So what nineteen twenty twenty one. Twenty two to twenty one as as i launched the first ever of of musical variety show for a guy my age at twenty one on On abc television. And then and i'm still in college. I'm taking classes every weekday and saturdays to at columbia university and siring four kids hiring for kids. That's is that the most delicate way you could put it pat boone siren where kids these lovely women that are now some of them grandmothers. Okay so

How To Save Your Nails After Shellac

"You know how. I used to be a massive like acrylic shellac. Gal like my. Now's whenever i've taken them off have always been still quite strong. It's quite strange that's fantastic. I reckon you're probably in the minority there but a lot of that comes down to your diet and nio health and also the technician that did now so you must have a good person. So basically i mean shellac. He's one of the more gentle foams back in the day when it was acrylics lakes and it was a falling down the nile. And all that sort of stuff you really left with paper-thin nails at the end. Jails have come a long way but they still going to damage the niobe no matter what anyone says says because it has to adhere to the nile. So it's going to kind of hang on there and stay somehow so essentially you're waiting for that part of the nail bed to grow out and you're fresh now from underneath to come through. It's a long process. It can be a vicious cycle because you go. Oh my way he can now comey both a nego. Get you niles don again. A few tapes. That i have are all collagen. So an injectable. We'll make a massive difference to your niles collagen when ingested works on the protein. So your hair skin and nails. Whenever i take it and i am religiously taking it twice a day at the moment my nails are so thick and grow so fast that i have to trim them so often. I'm like oh my nails a too long. So i definitely get onto an all collagen supplement. Now hod is absolutely do work but they need to be applied day. They're a labor of love. I always aaad now. I do not apply to every day. I do it every four days but it starts to get a bit monkey but basically whatever you're going gonna do. It is going to take effort and time to grow up and to love that nile. That's a beach flaky and dehydrated so some of my recommendations in terms of nail harness. The m'voula scientific penetrating nile haba nineteen ninety-five. It's really fantastic. Rpi has the natural now strengthen our which is also about twenty bucks and also the revived and al intensive strength which is thirty dollars so those three are really good. But you need to apply reapply. The next day take it off. Apply reapply the next day every second day until you now's a nice and stone also. Don't do what i've done. And just like put layer upon layer on nor after the second day you generally have to take it off and start again otherwise it starts to get real real

Ethiopia's Tigray Crisis: Fleeing for Fear of New Ethnic Conflict

"The BBC is heard fresh reports of ethnic cleansing integrate T grain forces are continuing to extend their control of the region, prompting the Ethiopian government to abandon a unilateral ceasefire. More fighting is now expected in the west of Tigre, an area close to the water with Sudan from where our Africa correspondent Andrew Harding reports. Doing nothing for a young man is struggling to swim across the fast flowing Brown River. He's escaping the conflict into great Safely across the 18 year old tells us he was chased by another ethnic group, The, Um Harris, whose malicious still control this corner of Western to be able to get them. They know you were two grand. They kill or arrest you, He says the militias are everywhere. Within hours, I meet another group of four teenagers who just made the same journey. Some armed soldiers come home to home and they registered their means, and they sold them to leave home. Militia militia and their militias. I'm harem. Alicia's Yes, I'm on a mission. They gave us two days to leave home to to get out of former because we are immigrants. Like many others, these youngsters are fleeing Ethiopia's fast changing war into gray, a war that seemed to be winding down. That could well be just getting started. Interview With Sudhanshu Sawlani of ING

"Show sudan shoe. Kick things off speaking today about applying artificial intelligence in an enterprise environment. You're one of those rare folks. That's actually been charged with deploying a in enlarging existing enterprise before we get into too many specifics. I'd love to get a sense from you as to what was the initial problem. Starting point where. Ai was even on the table. Why was it even something worth considering. What were you wrestling with. At the time when the challenge was is engaging activities that were performed by customer teams of customer. Lloyd thinks we call them and then these are the teams supporting the banking clients. Day in day out whenever the greatest questions and concerns about different types of it'd be over them would actually plans. We have to look lose. Some administrative dos expertise. That was the biggest problem and nobody should spend the time on these activities. They should really focus on more customer centric activities. And that's what we started with as a problem to really get rid of those disengaging administrative board and from what has support. He's so they could rather focus on activities that would matter the most clients got it. Got it okay. Cool and just to. I'm sensitive that you know. We'll get into as much detail as you're able to hear but this is already kind of painting a bit of a picture you know we've got some folks that are supporting your customers. They really should be spending their time focusing on the customer's problems. But what you're saying. Is that a lot of their interactions with customers are burdened with administrative tasks. I mean i'll throw out some representative examples. You can tell me if i'm on the right page. If you have any more specificity candidate would. I imagine my mind is okay. This customer wants to buy something or this customers asking about product or this customer wants to change a product or plan. In order for us to do that we've got a maybe search through some big byzantine system where we gotta put him on. Hold for fifteen minutes or maybe we have to submit a bunch of paperwork or submit a bunch of forms and then wait two days and then called them back. Because that's just how the process coach. So is it something like this but also even before that just to just to dive into it. Be focusing on emails or this us right so here. We're talking about the problem of receiving lots of emails in in support p mailboxes. Everyday and and be mindful of these support. Teams are not not exactly always the one holding the program prevent they want without him of course but they always have dependencies in that bank open support who held the Had them out so the first thing that starts when we receive an email from appliances registered this evening into a ticket and then assigned the Respective department

"two day" Discussed on Blogging the Boys

"To all these podcast and everything you know. And you knew then that the cowboys had is for Taco Charlton. Either cowboys did not want. Tj What we knew that as much as we all tried to sort of convinced them that that was a bad idea. The Cowboys Really Really WanNa Talk Charlton. The whole world knew it. Now if you don't think the whole world knew that then you have to admit that the whole world and all the people on Mars all the people on Neptune and I forget is Pluto a planet. I know that it was on the fence. I know that there was debate at the very least but basically everybody in all the galaxies knew that the cowboys really really really wanted. Layton van direction two thousand eighteen. There was some some thought and some discussion from people online. That maybe they'd go derwin James but that fell more like a fantasy than anything so ultimately they drafted late in. It was what it was now last year again. No first-round pick so. It's obviously a very difficult to telegraph. What it's going to do in the second round because it's you know it's hard to predict the top forty or fifty pigs. Whatever the case may be But it was still very very very widely known that the cowboys were really interested interest in hill and again kind of like Derwin James the year before and kind of like T. J. Watt the year before that people tried to will something else into existence. A lot of people wanted Taylor rap. A lot of people wanted one thornhill but still the cowboys stuck with Tristan Hill. And you know. He was inactive more often than not last season so not exactly a great return on investment after year one. The names that are being thrown out. Now that's what I'm saying. It's worth paying attention to these names. Because that's it should be said that there has been a regime change you know and obviously there was on the coaching side of things but there has been a regime change in so. We're still trying to figure out the way Mike. Mccarthy and his draft process works as far as being the head coach of the Dallas cowboys but Kaleva Jason Lsu Edrich Edge rusher. That's a name to know C. J. Anderson cornerback out of the University of Florida. Probably not going to make it a seventeen overall but still a name to know. Aj Terrible quarterback Clinton on name to know Kenneth Murray Oklahoma linebacker a name to know these are the names that are being floated around and so you can kind of just put it together in one tiny little bag you know a bag of five or six names and kind of just reach your hand. In and depending on the circumstances depending on the way the I sixteen picks go assuming the cowboys don't trade back. It's probably going to be one of those names and all the names that have been kind of talked about and discussed and thrown out into the Kvant. Jason's probably my preferred pick personally. I just can't get C. J. Anderson. I don't think that you want to spend seventeen on. Aj terrel on Trayvon digs on Christian Fulton. I just you know I don't and you know if you're trading back that changes things certainly but you know a number of other directions. Kenneth Murray is a name that I think would cause a lot of panic for some guys fans at least according to twitter. But yeah so I just I don't. I don't see that as the best use of that resource and so if you can't get chased young but you can get clave on chase on the seventeenth round pick. You know that you can be happy about that. You know you can be pleased with that. You can feel like it was a draft. You know that you didn't hit out of the park at least in the immediate aftermath of it but you are responsible and that's sometimes really all the time in some sense is the most important thing but so pay attention to those names are also worth mentioning because we know the cowboys need to slot receiver. And there's a lot of names been connected to Devon Dover Neyla viscous Chenault etc but Jalen rigor who's a favorite of many from TCU. He was on the rap sheet and friends. Podcast ENWRAP report podcast of the show and he was asked Ian doing his homework. Kind of poking and prodding. Hey Jalen who are the teams? You've you've visited with the motion Jalen noted. He's he's talked a lot of teams. He's a highly sought after dude but the teams that Jaylen radio said he spoke to the most they Philadelphia Eagles which are forever according to our girls talking. Boys Co host mcmurray Philadelphia Eagles. The Las Vegas Writers who have basically every cowboys player that the cavs and the Dallas cowboys. That's right Jalen. Regular has spoken to The Dallas cowboys a lot. So pay attention to that because the cowboys need a slot receiver. I know there's talk about trading for one and others things floating around on twitter and whatnot but I pay attention because again there situations and there are situations but situations that befall the cowboys congenitally be somewhat telegraphed so pay attention to that also wanted to get into just a little bit here on Tuesdays episode. Joe McCoy New Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle was on the Dallas cowboys teams social channels and website. Did an interview with Shannon Gross. Shannon's great guy working for the cowboys website. And you know Joe McCoy we talked about. We played some clips a few weeks ago. Now I might have been a few months ago now. Time is kind of blended together but when he did an interview with. Espn's Marty Smith. We learned a little bit about him. Then but Joe McCoy against sat down with Shannon grows. You can watch the whole interview on the Cowboys Youtube Channel or are on their APP or their website. You know lots of ways for you to get back great content but Joe McCoy had a few things that I thought were interesting. First of all he said that the cowboys wanted to sign him last year. And when the Tampa Bay buccaneers not the Tampa Bay Tampa Bay buccaneers moved on from a Koi. There were a lot of you know you get that effect every time you know insert. Nfl veteran is released. Should the cowboys you know? That's the answer is generally no but in drill. Mccoy's case last year there were a lot of people are. We said let's go. Let's let's have the cowboys do this year. But Joe McCoy said that things couldn't work necessarily financially so he went and played for the Carolina Panthers but that he was pumped about it happening and kind of coming together here in two thousand twenty now. Joe McCoy spoke very highly of Mike McCarthy when he was on Marty Smith's podcast and again in talking to Shannon Gross. This exact quote more importantly man. I truly believe in coach McCarthy and what his plans I believe in my teammates and the opportunity I have to win. I'm coming down the final stretch of my career and haven't had the opportunity to make the playoffs. I believe that this team is the one that can really make some noise this year. Kind of a kind of an April sounding answer right. You know some some positivity in their spin going on there but it is worth mentioning that Joe McCoy has been in the NFL for a long time. And it's never made the playoffs. That's the Tampa Bay buccaneers affect So he still obviously got a lot left and he believes that he can offer to the cowboys. They can do some special things together now. Shannon asked McCoy if he knew any cowboys players prior to joining the team. Have you had any sort of past relationships with them? In Gerald said that he did know demarcus Lawrence surprised joining the cowboys. Here's what he said. The one person I had a relationship with was demarcus Lawrence. We met at the pro bowl. We stayed in contact. Obviously all the fans know how dominant a player he is and we had such a good time with the pro bowl. When I realized I had an opportunity to play for Dallas I reached out to him and he was really excited. And then once we confirmed they may have official. We got really excited. So we've been in touch in contact. I don't know if you guys know. I don't know how much he's posted letting you guys know. But he's grinding. He's really putting the work to have a big year. I'm excited about that. That's pretty cool. Shot Joe McCoy for letting US IN DEMOCRACY IS OFF SEASON PRACTICES AND WHATNOT. But the perhaps most interesting thing about Joe McCoy's interview with the cowboys website and he talked about his his Vegan Diet and stuff and his interview with Marty Smith but he noted that he has lost twenty pounds since the two thousand nine hundred and season ended. He talked about how he went on a ten day. Detox literally the day after the season ended with the Carolina Panthers and he lost twenty pounds and kind of just kept it up and then he noted that he's spoken to Bruce Smith. Michael Strahan Tony Gonzalez. Nfl Greats. Who later in their careers? Kind of slimmed down and he you know he talked about how he felt okay last year but that he felt heavy and he felt not the way he wanted to and wasn't moving exactly how he wanted to and he attributed to being too heavy so he wanted to slim down and he's lost twenty pounds. He said he's at two ninety five At least at the time of this interview and that hasn't been to ninety five cents his rookie year. So it's it's been a minute for drama Koi but pretty cool I wrote about this. You can check it out if yourself a blog on the boys DOT COM and again. There's an episode of the seven five. Oh coming your way later today on Tuesday and just episodes Galore again. If you're new around here thank you for joining us. Thank you for trusting us. We know that there are a lot of options. A lot of great options out there for Dallas cowboys content. And we appreciate you making us part of your rotation so. Let's have some fun this week. I'm feeling it. I'm feeling pretty good. It's going to be a fun. Fun Fun Week. I with the draft coming up so do me a favor. Have the absolute best Tuesday of all time. You know why because you deserve it. We see them in the. Outta my friends as always go cowboys and peace APP..

The ocho starts you off just kind of a refresher a wakeup sort of thing. And then you get your big show throughout the day. A kind of around lunchtime just kind of depends where you're located. I know we have some people all over the United States of America and all over the world and speaking of our world. We hope that you are happy. Safe healthy practicing social distancing as these have been some some turbulent and some stressful times for our world but it is the week of the NFL draft and thankfully we have some some really interesting and fun stuff to talk about it in a big time puzzle to put together and hopefully we can have some fun doing that and doing it together. This week So again huge. Hello welcome aboard to all of our new subscribers and if you've been here for the whole ride well hey we love you just as much but anyway moving on with today's episode of the Ocho. Monday was kind of A. I WANNA say like a boring day or a day. But it's the week of the draft and so it's unless you're Yonathan Gateway and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Monday was a relatively chill day. It was the day that general managers and important personnel did their mock draft. Because the two thousand twenty. Nfl draft is going to happen. Virtually and there were apparently all sorts of snafus some bandwidth errors. I bet the EH. The speed test APP was was probably getting its fair share of exercise across across the Great United States. And so I mean look. There are a lot of people who have pointed out the logistics of the draft happening in a virtual sense in how difficult it's going to be. I am not an IT technician. I am not a genius in that department so I don't know how impossible is going to be but I know that when I watched the draft when I have my setup I've got I've got my computer I've got another computer in an external under I two TVs. I've got a lot going on but I'm not a general manager and so I have to imagine it's going to be very difficult and ESPN's. Dan had a tweet about one. General Manager apparently got kicked off of his Internet because his children were playing games on their IPAD. Kind kind of reminiscent of like when you're depending on your age now but when you were like fifteen right and You know somebody in your house like you know jumped on something and you were playing like an xbox game or something and it just kicked you out. That was terrible. That was that was pretty awful. And you know like the early days of Netflix. You know you'd get you'd buffering. You'd have those blurry scenes because somebody in your family was also trying to stream something so You know it is what it is no big deal. It's not like billions of dollars at stake when it comes to the NFL draft but anyway. So we'll see how that goes but when it comes to the cowboys obviously in the NFL draft and everybody's really focused on their first round draft seventeenth overall selection. There are so many people who don't even want to see them draft somebody. There's a huge group of people that are just start. What bump that. I don't need whoever it's going to be trade that piece for Jamal Adams. Let's go get him. I know that the girls talked Jamal Adams with Brian brought us on growth talk and boys. Gt Be Nation. But I don't think it's going to happen as as as much as I hate to say it. I will be fun. I know I kind of made the case myself on Monday but it just it feels like it's not going to happen and it should be. It should be said that this week in particular. It's so difficult to trust anything here and I don't want to say just ignore everything until the draft is over but this is the week where everybody is keeping their cards close to the vest and they normally do right. You just can't let even an inch of Information League Al. Because you've come this far you've got that's come so far. We've got so long to go. I think that's a line from hairspray. But anyway they've they've come this far and they are very very very close and so every. Nfl team kind of chill but jets general manager. Joe Douglas on Monday did say look. We want Jamal to be around. We wanted to be around for the future the jets etc J two. Yes I get it. I get it Joe. I get you like Jamal but you know what Jamal. He's got the Tattoo. We all saw the tattoo. He's from Dallas. We all know it. Let it happen. Let it be courting another great song right. Just let it happen. Although I don't think it will happen ultimately but you know hey you never know until that seventeenth overall pick has been spent just never know On Jamal Adams though it is worth mentioning that the QB's our brea wrote this on Monday. Quoting him exactly. Go CHECK IT OUT. The QB word last fall was that while he was annoyed with his name being connected to trade rumors he warmed considerably to the idea of going home to douse. Oh Yeah it's getting hot in here chat. Nellie warmed considerably also worth mentioning the NFL. Networks chain slater friend of the show. We were having some fun on the blog and the boys twitter and she responded saying you know just kind of felt doubtful and she felt bad about raining on the parade but that she thought that Jamal Adams would fit with the cowboys and if Jane said it let it let it happen. I mean look at this point. It has to happen right. I mean it's we've talked about it enough. We've thought about it enough. Do you know how many people have spent time on edits? Jamal Adams and a cowboys uniform are in. Do you really want all that to be in vain. Newark jets jumped on a podcast with the prime sports network on Monday and the hosts that I was interviewed by is a jets fan and Kinda talked about. How if the jets lead Jamal? Adams go for the seventeenth overall. Pick and that alone that there will be some vitriol coming his way from from the jets fans all twelve of them. But that's what I'm saying. It's just it seems unlikely. So as fun as it would be an hyped. We would all get about it. Let's let's start tempering expectations. Because I think we're going to have to. I think we're we're we don't Thursday could be a little bit more dramatic than it already but that's kind of what the NFL draft is. All about right. I mean having fine shaking things up and trying to get weird at least that's that's how. Nfl offices in general managers and personnel trying to handle. They're trying to you. Know not handle it actually. Nobody wants to be weird. Everybody wants to be boring. Get the players they want. Get in get out. And whatever every team started when the super bowl no big deal but there were some of the things that popped up on Monday ass and things of note and again we are now you know depending on when you listen to this about forty eight hours away from the two thousand twenty nfl draft and that means we've got an exciting. Oh Yeah it is getting hot in here. That's right. There are some names that are being connected to the cowboys. Some that you need to know because when it comes to the cowboys you know they're they're pick has generally been pretty telegraphed so when it comes to the cowboys look right now. You're hearing all sorts of stuff right so and so likes this player. So and so that player they really you know the Atlanta Falcons Really WanNA trade into the top five. And it's so hard to trust anything I get that I understand that. That's typically the way the NFL draft goes in this. Isn't you know a lock? Lock it in. Throw away the key type thing but it is very much worth noting that generally the last half decade the cowboys have had their first overall pick first overall the number one pick in the draft but their first draft selection and not even a first rounder because last year they didn't have one but the first pick the cowboys have made is generally very telegraph and has been for some time. This is something we've discussed for a while now but if you look back two thousand sixteen. I'm not going to Supremely Telegraph. Just because if you've got the fourth overall pick it's pretty. It's pretty easy to figure out what you're going to do you. Can you know generally the first kind of seventy eight pigs? Barring some sort of wild card or whatever can be telegraphed overall. There's obviously kind of swing point every NFL draft. You can always kind of figure out the first you know two or three picks and then it gets. You know you're GONNA have a team go one direction last year. Was Cleveland Pharrell. They're they're sort of. You know there are circumstances like that. I think this year the Detroit lions or one of those pivot points but so two thousand sixteen. A lot of people knew. Obviously that it was down to Zeke Elliot and Jalen Ramsey for the cowboys not gonNA hold that against him two thousand seventeen. If you've been around cowboys twitter you've been reading the boys DOT com. You've been listening.

"My Dad's subscribes you should subscribe You get access to all of our shows we have so many podcasts available for you do you get at least one dollars podcast every single day you get to hear from two time superbowl champion Antonio Christus and you get to hear from the birthday boy himself my dad and it's kind of Nice being on a by you know what I mean this is a nice week for it to fall on the worst is like that week for by you know what I mean but it's a nice time of year we talked about a little bit the world series coming around like next week to get you know get everything in order to cool fronts are coming in get your house set up you know what I mean like this is the time no absolutely it's a perfect time of the year to do a little reset You know just make sure that your doctor on a row for the next part of the season and yeah I mean nothing better than having a world series on TV to watch and or maybe get away for a little bit so speaking of reset a Lotta people in week three when drew brees got hurt set up Cobb is GonNa be seven Oh at the by they're going to be seven opposite didn't happen there four and three I want to get you Thoughts on their next five games that includes the game on the road a New England and we will be there I know that some of you are going to be there if you're going to be there we're going to get into New England in the Boston area so I know we're going to fenway we've got some cool stuff plan so we'll definitely be around we can grab some brews and chill if you're going to be there if you have any Boston conditions certainly let us know anyway I want to look at the next five weeks I view through the packers of the cowboys nemesis but the reality is the first step is winning the division and that's the win against the Eagles was so important so next five weeks I want you to tell me winner loss capital I'm talking next five games so I was going to buy this their next game is on the road at the site of their last loss metlife stadium against the New York giants that's on Monday night football I'm sure tests and boog awesome cute comments for Jason Witten I hope Jason Win scores for those reasons but winterless I think that's a win you know I think cowboys are effective enough to go in there and take care of the giants no problem I don't see any problem there put some five and three I agree especially with the by Jason Great it's going to get to work we'll see if he's at the world series again this year he was there last year sat next Brad Paisley Incredible eighteen in game I will never forget I was doing a high school game that night I remember and I said we wrapped up because it was the top of the ninth and Jason Oh my gosh call but okay so that would put them at five and three after that at home against the Minnesota Vikings back on Sunday night football the game I don't WanNa WanNa be fluff on it but it does it does depend on which vikings team shows up and Kurkin Primetime as messed there's a lot of you know loose variables flying around I think that you know the Vikings are the plane really strong right now I think it's going to be a good litmus test for Dallas is on there said I do think Dallas will pull it out that's a great offense you're right I mean this was a great defensive showing for the Eagles we'll see if they can do that against carp okay that puts them at six and three then there at Detroit I think they drop one of those games and just because I said this before the season started football's weird you know like the football news of football is going to show up at one point and the Games that I said that that could happen with this was way back and I'm not trying to be I called it the way it did the world series but I said the jets and said the lions and the deadlines game just feels kind of weird to me I I don't know I just I feel that could be a game we're going to find out that Matt Stafford I went to Highland Park in case you didn't know that over the last what isn't that ten years died Hirsch exactly I just that one I'm willing to you know I I feel that although I don't like it but I do feel that I think the lines they lost against the packers last wasn't Monday night and reading the horrible loss and then they had another horrible loss yesterday with the Vikings so you know I mean they are there pretty solid in fact I took him on one of the spreads that we play but you know I'm really think they're sneaky good Stafford's on that when we play them you know I mean he I think that's a loss and I can see I can see the cowboys they just got this huge win Yeah and then you just go and you fall flat in Detroit yeah the three hundred you mentioned six hundred nine earlier I think you've ever seen eight mile I'm going to be on the road in New England then four days later at home against Buffalo on Thanksgiving I think they split those so I think they emerged from this five game streak at seven and five ultimately means but that's a game that the cowboys haven't won that game in a while you know what I mean like the last game like that to me ballpoint I think you know here's where I think if they lose to New England I think that they might even drop Buffalo stating laws but I think that if they win in New England which I think they will then I think a they managed to maintain their their composure and then come home and win.

"Oh you know i think that i'm thinking days it's usually well days because i don't have horny days or you'd be like what is this time of the week for me is i know people have time with the more polite i have a horny time with the week like it's my time with the week on certain days and i said later anyway point is great thing i joke about it a lot on this show because it's funny and we'll get silent you talk about it so it's funny but sex is great and it's one of the best parts of being in a committed relationship with somebody and i think that it should also be naturally aspirated and naturally motivated if you don't wanna fuck don't fuck wants to have sex half six it needs to be natural inorganic and you're not going to be on the same would rhythm as your partner sometimes they may want it and you don't sometimes they you may want it and they don't but it's just somewhere you literally meet in the middle as partners partners and just kind of make it work you know i think that if is becoming an extreme this interest lack of sexual interest there's a difference between not having sex and not wanting to have sex with the person if you guys are having sex it could be a lot of things time your schedules you know what i'm saying you could work opposite ships they could just happen like that but if you just like you're saying friend there are varying levels of like attraction chemistry between people but if you just don't wanna fuck your boyfriend of teen years maybe boy maybe may maybe it's may believe maybe it's may believe maybe get about this relationship once three literally get them dig.

"Russell even let's figure at least the end you walk away feeling field you know what i'm saying let's just fight just relieved so i think is something to think about think so lots of think of actually a lot too right because yeah you just can't see that's wrong stars at ain't there that's my but i think when we discuss mental health just like the ad said for talks basis not just like what happens to me much out but it's like when you put together everything you've been through how you navigating the world right now how much of it is reenacting from that wound or those wounds and how much of it is actually happening and i think what i've learned mental health is is taking the time to decipher that's what it is to me that's emotional health as intel emotional intelligence rather is like our remember let's talk about it being the pas but i i haven't internal pas but if i feel i'm gonna react at pause say israel is this real or is this this life on old story that you like time traveling back to because it made you think of it and you're not even being present right now it has nothing to do with this person or this conversation you have to check on you have to check yourself when you're time travelling and when you're present and make sure that you're always present into me that is the key to mental health so that you can make navigate spaces with a little more ease always immu challenge but it'll be a little more completely right you also get like eleven licks in amount of as an alternative i'm not saying that's not the way to go up to saying as an alternative we give them a seven ho licks.

"Of the conversation to like get her like she started talking about something else and she was drinking like an ice coffee and got low on the ice she was still like nursing are just like in the leg or that cup of coffee but i did it because i was so angry because for her to for her that for that in the mix it just let me know that she was she had an awareness beyond what was normal for our engagement in what we talked about in that space and the way that we interact with each other why are you even looking at him that way you can't be like their way to cause bitch that i hadn't either one of us walk and even though we cool we ain't that damn cooling did that which lets me know that's how you're seeing us and i took offense to it so when i hear stories like you just shared about your mom's experiences i'm completely like i'm completely understanding and i usually don't question it because i always can understand what that's like two fold what i'm saying not just as a black man but like so the ship hop into and you know i running flat out so it's a new day don i'm definitely feeling good so anybody going be disrespected me on certain levels period you know what i mean it's just a no tolerance policy for that so maybe i have maybe i too have a heightened sense of awareness starvation and maybe maybe i'm seeing things that don't exist but doubted like i mean that's the thing with the wurley living and sad to say but sometimes it's fucking hard to tell it is it's just hard to tell it's hard to tell you walking his appeal see it's hard to tell walk into the man and woman as game in is an immigrant because it's the microaggressions are nonstop and so it's like which part of this is my rainmaking making up because i'm tired fight.

"I know was getting people shoe shakes back in the day so they're little triggers that have like even you know no here someone's phone go off in the middle of the night you know like little thing so i'll return the wayne people someone's phone going off little triggers like face times beans a client or when their phone is turned over you know like all the time so are little things like that that i became slightly obsessive over because a i done this on new while it was happening in them be when you're in relationships where someone's doing that it becomes a thing where you start getting paranoid which is silly when i think back at them like why did you stay in these relationships you know like you i've put myself thang into yeah because hi but i'm hoping now i'm like friends soon as you feel that get the fuck out like doing right sometimes you gotta go stuff so then when you get because you gotta you gotta do it until you're tired of yourself you know and then hopefully you're tired of yourself enough to never put yourself through that again but i know those are all little things because even with people that are not with if i hear someone's phone i feel it in my body it'll be like a friend mike but it's the same alert sounds you know so i'll be like ooh girl you really it's like the traumas like on a cellular level we've talked about it being ptsd yes so you know and obviously these are not to make light of ptsd these are like more subtle versions of it but it's just so interesting how you can carry all these things and then my experiment it changes how you navigate and don't want to imagine me start dating the poor do just turned his phone over because maybe he just does adam adored show suits.

"Can create the ms not real but these people were physically affected like they were trembling they were overwhelmed and when he finally told them what happened you know they were fun they were like no there's some possible like i saw the people's faces like they swore and then they will confuse that maybe they've been tricked again like maybe he's saying this and it didn't really happen you know to confuse them but they just could not fathom for not one moment that they hid made all of this up that all the people they'd walked through street pass them had actually not been looking at a scar and not seen anything that they thought and they were walking with with this insecurity you know even their posture was different and they were like looking in people's faces waiting for the people to look at them differently in almost to the point that they were looking at them so hard that they created faces from the other people they projected what they think that other people like feeling from walking pass them isn't that something that's i mean deep and so that blew my mind i was like this is fucking fascinating i remember at tweeted about it tweet it about the experiment a lot of people were like whoa that's you know it makes you think about how much of your own yelp reviews on much of 'cause we're you know last week's episode we discussed the reviews people might be discussing as far as us but do you ever consider your what you review yourself as and not just from the stories of what you've been through but let's be real all human here we've done some shit's other people you know what i mean in different degrees different experiences we've been through member we have let the story go episode of things that have happened to you all that mixed in a bag and then you're literally walking through the world.
