"Welcome in on a Tuesday morning September 20th pretty nice 76° right now in sunny, not quite as humid today. A nice day with heights in the upper 80s. Good morning, I'm Deborah Feinstein. And I'm Mark Lewis with the top local stories we're following this hour. New this morning, a second person has died following a home invasion in hyattsville. Lieutenant Zack nemser says hyattsville police received a call of a home burglary in progress on 30th avenue just after midnight this morning. They arrived at the scene and located a male deceased inside the residence. About the same time, approximately two blocks away a vehicle was stopped with a male suffering from a gunshot wound. That man, a 23 year old was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he died. Police say the other person who died was the suspect in the home invasion. Police believe this was a targeted incident and that there's no threat to the public and investigation continues. Police say he killed women, then used a shopping cart to dump their bodies. The man police have dubbed the shopping cart killer is facing indictment and a new charge. Last week the judge and Harrison burg had forwarded Anthony Eugene Robinson's case to the grand jury on two counts of first degree murder and two counts of hiding the bodies of Beth Redman and tanita Smith. Now the grand jury there has added the count of aggravated murder for killing more than one person within three years. If convicted on that count, he could be sentenced to life in prison with no chance of ever getting out, Robinson's also suspected but not yet charged in the deaths of two women in fairfax county and one in D.C.. Nia law can stay in W T news. It would be a big change for drivers in the district. The full D.C. council meets today to consider a ban on turning right on red. The argument for the change centers around safety, D.C. council member Mary che. Many pedestrians have experienced nearly being hit or have been hit when cars turn right at red lights. The bill would make no turn on red the law for drivers across the district, starting in 2025, it would also allow bike riders to treat a stop sign as a yield sign. The bill was approved by the council's transportation committee, though some opponents did speak out during a public hearing. There should be a study that actually addresses whether eliminating right turn on red would reduce accidents. This bill appears to be based on inadequate statistical investigation. Nick alley WTO P news. School systems in Northern Virginia are reviewing new proposed state policies issued by the young administration that would change the rights of LGBTQ students in schools. And parents are weighing in on the rules that will likely face legal challenges. New guidance from the state would prohibit schools from encouraging teachers from concealing information from parents about a student's gender discussions. Lara stokes says the proposed changes are provoking fear among transgender parents like her. I think we're all worried about whether our kids are going to be traumatized at school, whether they're going to be fully but Ian prior head of the group fight for schools says the new state guidance has restoring parents rights. So the biggest thing that this does is say that parents need to be informed of these kind of issues with their children. School systems are required to develop policies consistent with the new state guidelines. News. Up ahead on WTO after traffic and weather. Kelly Shackelford on the Separation of Church and State

"This idea of separation of church and state is not that they are these two blocks that never do me. It's going back and I want to explain that one a little more for folks so that they can, you know, for those who have been indoctrinated saying, oh, you can't have a cross on public property. You can't pray at a school board meeting. In terms that now can lighten them a little bit more. How does this lemon overturning, but this candy case helped them? Yeah, separation, I mean, number one, it's not in the word separation of church and state or nowhere in the constitution. And most people think it's in there. It's not. The first clause of the First Amendment says, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. And in other words, we are not going to establish a national church that everyone has a support. That's what they came from from the Church of England. That is it. I mean, that's all that's in there. So there's nothing about separation of church saint. It's not about it's about not having an established church. Which I don't think we're in danger of the denominational differences and all the diversity out there on that. There is no way we would ever have. We can't even have two bad discharges in the same room. There's first and second, can't even come together, right?

"I'm James McCarthy as we wrap things up here from West Fargo. Hi. The West Fargo Packers. They controlled sets number one and set number 2, 25 17 and 25 18 in the Packers. They were down and set three. The Eagles were commanding a 21 16 lead before the wheels just fell off the wagon, essentially for the Eagles as the head of service air, And then there was a couple of four aces and five points from Mary Chanel miscue or to the way of Fargo, Davies and all of a sudden it was a night I'll run to end things this evening. Packers took set number 3 25 to 21, a heated BDC rivalry battle as now you're going to have the Packers leapfrogging up and over. The Eagles as you look In the standings in Fargo, Davies falls to two and one in the D C play. As for the West Fargo Packers, they arise 23 and one in EEC play there. 83 Overall Fargo, Davies's seven and three And you should have the Packers a half game ahead of the Eagles for second in the E. D. C as for right now. They are tied with the Davies Eagles will be tied for third with Shanley. At this very moment at two and one in the D. C plan. We'll see how the deacons do later on, and you can always tune into the needing all morning show tomorrow morning to figure out how The deacons and the Mustangs did as well and you can see how the E D. C is shaking. Out. As for our scoring this evening, you have an honorable mention. Now it's safer Sea apparel player of the game come in the way of the leader for the Fargo Davies Eagles enable Wild She had 18 kills this evening. She had two blocks. She did everything she could. To keep her team in it for the Fargo. Davies Eagles just was not quite enough. If she wasn't good enough offensive help. She got an ace from the way of Ellie Crans. There was seven kills in the block from Julie 11 or five Kills for Camille Derringer. A kill for Taylor. So France Kia, killing a block coming away Mia Miller in the late stages before the wheels fell off the wagon and Macy Wheeldon had a killing a block herself as well. But great job. Okay Davidson, the sophomore the barrel for Fargo, Davies doing A good job of getting A couple dozen digs in all reality this evening, keeping some volleys alive. Getting good passing, really was able to kind of hone in that offensive attack for Davies, but she just was not quite able to Keep everything straight away as there was a handful of Miscues where The Eagles just we're not quite able to Communicate what they needed to and then cost them a couple of points in a costume. A game in the E. D. C as well As for the U. S. Fargo Packers. They had Mary Schnell who really could be as well, an honorable mention for CIA payroll player of the game as you look, she had five kills four aces. Four of those issues were in the final time that she served this evening. She role of four inches and five points and was able to get her Packers not only back to tie it after being trailed by five but also leading. Ultimately, the victory. This evening. Alexis Olson had four kills herself. Ali Halverson with three kills Chloe Foul. Eight kills two blocks, two aces and aced the way of rain. Aafia Kaskey the eighth grade the barrel who did a phenomenal job all the evening of getting digs and setting up her team. For great passing and putting opportunities for everybody out there this evening and our CI apparel player of the game is going to come the way up. Nadia FIA cost. He did a phenomenal job all evening long. She had 12 kills. She really loved the offensive attack. She did a great job of being a presence.

Why Tesla Stock Jumped on Monday

"Robin our here today. We're gonna be talking a little bit about tesla stock tests approach with their sensor suite. Plaid delivery timelines. We've got wells fargo. Picking up coverage of tesla stock. Some news on charging and batteries. Nice start to the week. Four tesla's stock today after a relatively quiet news weekend finishing up four point four percent to six hundred and six dollars four cents that compared to the nasdaq up. One point four percent tussle dead tail off a little bit towards the end of the though falling about one percent in the last half an hour well as luck would have it alanis tweeting about bitcoin and does in the last half an hour about eighteen minutes before market close. He tweeted quote spoke with north american. Bitcoin miners they committed to publish current and planned renewable usage and ask miners worldwide to do so potentially promising and quote couple minutes after that he switched over to doj saying quote. If you'd like to help develop those please submit ideas on get hub and read it and quote so inevitably you see that you see out. Great yuan taking the stock again talking about cryptocurrency. Someone already tag me on twitter suggesting this and if you're just casually looking at the stock yes absolutely looks that way but again it is not that simple if we pull up the minute by minute. Chart here tweeted again. Eighteen minutes before close dessel was at about six hundred ten dollars per share at that point in time it had already dropped from six hundred and fourteen before john even tweeted that if we flip over to the nasdaq you can hardly tell the difference there in the last half an hour with how those look the nasdaq trails off there as well and continued to fall in the last eighteen minutes. Just like tesla did in fact tests actually dropped more in the ten minutes before ilan's tweet actually more than two times as much of a drop their as it did ten minutes after tweeden about cryptocurrency even though the nasdaq performed worse in that second block of ten minutes after alonzo tweet so just like before. Yes tempting to throw that in as the narrative you see the stock falling right when you on tweets. But it's just not that simple and this instance is definitely not evidence of that being the case

Benjamin Netanyahu corruption trial to hear first witnesses

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has arrived in court as his much delayed corruption trial resumes in Jerusalem. The lead prosecutor will outline the case against him on the first witness is due to testify. Mr Netanyahu denies any wrongdoing. You Landon L is outside the courthouse. The country is very much split between those who are against him to say that he is really putting his political survival before the country's best interests, and then there are also those very much in favor. Mr Netanyahu, who believed that he should be allowed to stay in office, and we have seen this in the recent election. The country really divided into these two blocks. And so while Mr Netanyahu is in the court here, we're going to have this parallel and related process going on at the president's residence where he needs each off the political delegations representing the 13 parties that one seat on he's going to be asking them who do they recommend should be given the first chance to try to form a new government?

So is a must win having our backs against the wall, and just it was a big because we was able to get back to be having fun right there like we missed those moment. Talking about upsets. Let's go to the women's side of big 12 basketball because I think all other hoops seems they're probably upset. They have to play in the conference with the Baylor Lady Bears. Yeah i think so much of it is how you position yourself in referenced this hour so if you come as super like oh gotta make ten morecombe a because i heard on the podcast. One hundred this week. I might get a lead the my turn into versus sitting down and wanting to have conversations with people in like. We're talking about making a complicated. It's hard not to do that when you get started out. As part of your brain does not wanna call. Maybe he started out. So you find ways to all this fall group hard to follow or they're going to say no or a every. No one's answering so little things. I think are huge to really sit down. Take time care about. You're talking to and use a script like the kind of what i just went through. You settling like that. But you don't have to go hundred percent off every time. Yeah our stations are going to go with a go. I didn't do a ton of cold calling ever not a big fan of the phone But i would like..

"Working baseball games track meets. You know everything that i can sign up for. I was working And it allowed me to see you know the operation side. What goes into putting on a track meet from setting hurdles two blocks to you. Know how it's it's timed out to helping with basketball to help with football as kind of navigated through that. I kind of started to to trend more towards kind of two avenues and it was more of the the marketing side and the corporate partnerships side. And and that started to narrow it down so i decided to jump into that and start with an internship with the ucs sports marketing department Getting a little bit of understanding on how you get students out the games and it's Grown substantially obviously with ucf. It's now the largest undergraduate school in the country. I think they're pushing like sixty five. Seventy thousand undergrad. Which is jerry mason. But i got to be there to cool time. I i was there My freshman year. Sophomore you're sorry was the first year that they were building the on campus football stadium and the on campus basketball so really got to see you know that rise really from nothing and started to Be the really. I think Launching point of ucf athletic program to becoming a little bit more of a player In major football and basketball events so got to be on the ground floor..

"We're just running a little bit of the numbers here at the half USCs 17 of 28 from the field that 61%. The Trojans also have four offensive rebounds. So really 24 Possessions for the Trojans have ended in either made shot or miss shot. Trojans have turned it over 12 times. So if you think of that, that's 12 of the 36 possessions, then for us see that ended in eternal. That's a third. So really the turnover number is absurd for the Trojans right now, and it's the only reason that Washington State is in this game when you see a shooting as well as it is Taj Edie was TheStreet are of the first half 18 points for the senior grand transfer from Santa Clara, eight of 11 from the field, two of three from behind the arc. He also added an assist and a rebound. Was a team high plus nine in that first half Evan Mobley behind him eight points on three of six shooting for Evan had six rebounds, two blocks to steals for Evan. Otherwise, the points were scattered. Isaiah White had four He knocked down a three Ethan Anderson had four with three assists. I thought East Ethan was outstanding in seven minutes, but picked up two personal fouls. USC has some foul trouble as well to go with the turnover problems. Ethan Anderson, Max Akbank Polo Isaiah Mobley, all with two personals apiece. Isaiah movie. Mobley because of the foul trouble, played only nine minutes and had just two points in that half. Drew Peterson had four turnovers to lead the way for USC. In that category. He is filling up the statute has two points, four rebounds and three assists. So some good in that half for Peterson but has got to get control of the turnovers. Chavez Goodwin had a rough half was scoreless in 15 minutes and turned it over twice. No. Obama knocked down a late three for the Trojans. USC was four of six from 33 of six at the free throw line. The story for Washington state. They did not shoot the ball very well. 39%. That's right around with us. He holds every team, too. But just one of 11 for three for the Cougars after they had their best three point shooting percentage in years, they shot 59% against U C L. A. That was their best since 2016. One of 11 to start this game, but they have made up for it at the free throw line 10 of 13 there, they have not turned over much, just six times and to Shawn Jackson has been great. The freshman inside has 10 points. Isaac Montagne has seven for the kooks just two of six from the field and has not made a three yet, but again, the Trojans let him get to the line four times. He also had four assists of Montagne. Still making an impact, even though he has not found his shot yet wait for him to do it, Of course, down the stretch in the second half. The second half is coming up first the women of Troy reporting, then we'll get you set for half number two on the police. USC by 6 41 35 at the break on the Trojans media.

I mean hamburger here. Okay, here, right. Gary's out. It's gotta be tomorrow, but you will So I'm gonna say to Michael Green on this not necessarily on the offensive end, but on the defensive end, Burt, you're not going to stop LeBron completely. You got to dominate the point Where the paint you've got to be able to get in there and fishing to paint a mention Davis averaging over to our right at two blocks a game. The remaining police were to maintain the perimeter. They wanted only a small amount of police officers to enter the woods to minimize the risk. They decided that no one else was to enter. They needed a set number of officers only. That way. If they saw any movement at all, they would know immediately, it was not a fellow officer. In other words, they were prepared to shoot on sight. The two dogs and six officers entered the woods with flak jackets and loaded shotguns. A Visit with the Main Street Vegan, Victoria Moran

"I. WanNa start off by asking you. So your brand is main street Vegan. Why mainstream? Vegan? Well it's a story actually rip I went to a pita fundraiser late in two thousand ten and they showed videos and I've been seeing videos like this for forty years. It took me quite a while to get from. Vegetarian Vegan back in the day. So I've been around this movement for ever. And I've seen those videos about things that humans do to animals but that night, my heart was extra. And all I wanted to do was write a check for one hundred, thousand dollars in hand it to the pita founder Ingrid newkirk and say here, go fix something but the check would have bounced. So I got on the train thinking okay. What's the plan B. and I literally had inspiration I don't know how to explain this. You know you could say God you could say angels on what all I know is that it came to me very clearly okay you don't have one hundred, thousand K. spare but what you can do is make your. Next Book Main Street Vegan, we want it to be geared to the young woman that you were in Wheaton Illinois in nineteen eighty three when you finally stopped messing around and became a one hundred percent fulltime Vegan it needs to have forty short chapters with a recipe at the end of each one and I'm just kind of taking notes in my head of I could do this, I can do this. So my wonderful literary agent sold the proposal to torture Penguin and the editor called to say so happy to have you happy to have the book. But. We hate main street. You need to change the title and they'd bought it. So I had to do something and I'm coming up with these other titles and they were so boring. But I kept trying to write and then I had a begin miracle and I really do believe that this is the age of those believed that this is the time when all these other ridiculous diets are going to go. The way of the dinosaur plant based is going to be the only thing that sensible people are interested in and the idea that we are killing our fellow beings and destroying the planet is going to start to look like are you serious people really did that? So my Vegan Miracle That day. Was Walking up Broadway. We saw somebody so famous, you can recognize him from the back and that was Michael Moore Now, he had liked another book that I had written a weight loss book fit from within, and so I just handed my card to the woman who was with him and a few seconds. Later I hear Victoria there is Michael Moore, following me up Broadway and we started talking and then we started talking on the phone and on one of these phone conversations I said the book that I'm supposed to write should be called mainstreet Vegan publisher hates main street he said they're wrong. Let me talk to him talk to them so. In a three way call with an Academy Award winner my editor in me he convinced her she convinced the higher ups and when she called to say Main Street Vegan is your title everything else started to pop and I've been given my mission for the rest of my life. So why main street because this thing that we do whether we're coming from the health or the environment or the animals or whatever this is for everybody this is not some elitist thing. We don't have to be rich. We don't have to be leftover hippies or punk rockers. We can just be who we are eat reasonably and love more and to me that's Main Street That is mainstream nuts. you landed on something that just resonated and you knew of his right thing. And I grew up two blocks off main street in Kansas City Missouri. So that may have had something to do with it and mainstream Vegan was at your eighth or Ninth Book Because you've written. Now Than Books Right I've written thirteen. So Main Street Vegan would've been eleven. And

Activist Frank Nitty's Walk From Milwaukee Concludes At March On Washington

"By by taking taking a a look look at at yesterday's yesterday's march march on on Washington, Washington, which which was was held held here here in in Washington, Washington, D. D. C. C. Thousands Thousands of of people people came came to to the the National National Mall Mall to to participate participate in in the the action action known as the commitment march to protest police violence and racial injustice. So we figured we let you know Whether we talk shop Fact or skinny, light skinned about skin black lives matter black people. Face a symbolic tell Cohn Every time we walk, speak up. SAP. Job drive and, yes, brain. No, just there's a knee upon the neck of democracy, and our nation can only live so long without the oxygen of freedom. We just march 750 miles from Milwaukee was causing 24 days the gear because we're not going to stop until we get Chang That was the Reverend Al Sharpton, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Martin Luther King. The third and the final voice you heard was Frank's Ncba, better known as Frank Nitti. He is a Milwaukee activists who like he said, walked 750 miles from Wisconsin to Washington, D. C. And Frank Nitti, miss with us Now. Welcome. Thank you for joining us, man. That's amazing. I haven't watched any media or hurting any of anything. But I really never looking myself religions of myself or anything like that. I'm all about like the message and coming together. So how do you feel? I mean, as you say, you know, you walked A long way. How you feel you tired? Is your body tired? Um, actually, I feel amazing. Believe it or not, I don't know how it was like a very spiritual journey for some reason. Even the last day I had walked 40 miles that morning, and then the group walked 42 miles in the Washington D. C that later on that evening, and my body was so fine And so is that like, literally, The last 20 miles, and there was a lady that came up. She came out. She said she was looking for me for four hours, and she was crying. And she had her kids, whether she like you're doing what nobody else could do. You know, Um, you're doing it for my kids. And you know this is such a big thing. And you almost There's a little bit more to go and she was crying and everything. And I started crying and everything, but he gave me so much energy and I was able to walk from there in the last hour. It was just some of my legs are so sore, But other than that, I sat down. I couldn't like walking my feet for two hour the hour and a half once I said it, and now I find I'm ready for the world. Like I woke up this morning like like I hadn't walked for him for the last 24 days. But there were also some some ugly things that happened along the way. I understand that members of your group had many trials that some members of the group were arrested members you know, a member of the group was accused of shoplifting after she had bought like hundreds of dollars of supplies that you were shot at in Pennsylvania. So I was just wondering if you were expecting sort of vitriol to be directed at you. What was crazy Wass? As soon as we got into the state of Indiana, some I was like, Get out the road spoke. You know, and we laugh. We just laughed or whatever you know to me, but it was like You can kind of predict as soon as you cross the state line and take like 15 steps. You know, it was about two blocks, and someone has said that, you know, and we knew about the racism there with at the time I didn't know like Over the home of the K. K K like there's supposed to still operating at Knox, Indiana, and then, like the head of the Aryan Brotherhood, lives in Warsaw, Indiana, So we didn't know when I was like looking at the map and the role we were taking. I didn't particularly picked these places, but yeah, I was extremely rough being called the n word every Five blocks people through boots at us people threw food at us. The police were black and golf, gas stations and Indiana so that we couldn't get gas at them. Telling gas stations and businesses to close could say We were there to burn him down. The women can use the bathroom. We had someone brought us a portable toilet. So Indiana was like 100 degrees for two days. We are these like 30 Miles stretches where there was only one gas station and we weren't allowed to use it. And we're walking like 12 hours a day at that point, so we had to deal with racism, and we had to deal with the heat. And then we had to deal with the police actually spreading the rumors that we were doing these things and plus they were also telling us we can't go down the street or industry and we were. We would always go down whatever street we needed to go down. I would always tell him like no matter what You're not going to stop us from walking and actually established from from from getting the D. C.

Moussa Cisse is going to Memphis

"See say five star prospect originally in the class two thousand twenty one, but now I'm class. Two Thousand Twenty announced this afternoon that he is committed to the University of Memphis. Pippen Hardaway's Tigers over offers from Georgetown Georgia. Florida State Lsu and Kentucky for those unfamiliar. I guess you can on some level. Call him a quote local product because he did spend the past year at Lausanne collegiate school, which is seven miles from the Memphis. MEMPHIS campus, but he's not really a local product. He was born in West. Africa moved to New York, in two thousand, fifteen played at Saint Benedict's prep in New Jersey played at Christ King in New York, then relocated a Memphis, the plate laws and this past season led the links to a state title, one Mr Basketball and the state of Tennessee average eighteen point, four points, fifteen point, three rebounds, and a ridiculous nine point two blocks per game, and now we have college basketball season. He says he'll play for the Memphis Tigers. norlander break it down. What do you make a penny? Hardaway lending a five star center in two straight recruiting classes last time. It was James Wiseman this time Mussa. Break it down Oh. Yeah, here's what I got a question for you I. Mean Here's here's was Gary Perez? Is tweet on Wednesday afternoon breaking all caps course. This was an all caps breaking the way I don't i. You know what expected to go to Memphis. I. Don't know if all caps was warranted there. Can you take me inside the thought process versus not in a? Regular grammar versus going all caps in that moment, please. Young Mussa say follows exactly ten people on twitter. I am one of them, and so I wanted to make sure he he saw how much emphasis I put on his commitment. How do I just know that two four six years from now if and when Lucy say is? Able to earn a consistent NBA paycheck, and perhaps it's even a player of of importance in the NBA. Gary Parrish will never ever ever forget or forget to remind people that there was one point in time and Mussa CCA followed ten people on twitter. And he was one of them. I honestly don't even understand it. Because like he used to follow a lot of people on twitter, I noticed and. One of them was not me, and then suddenly he cut almost everybody, but added me I don't really even know the connection there, but. I want I knew he'd see the tweet. And once I knew each the tweet I wanted to I wanted him to experience in all. Caps tweet obviously as as faithful podcast, listeners will know. Also one Moussa, see say. was tutored by your own son so I think. That might also be an influence. Parish working behind the scenes to get it done for Memphis. You've gotta admire actually ironically enough this happening in a week where parish is not on his local radio show. The conspiracy only strengthens. Okay, so here's what here's my question for you. you say the six eleven likely one and done talent averaged. Eighteen point four points, fifteen point, three rebounds and nine point two blocks last season pick memphis over Georgetown. Tom Kriens Georgia bulldogs Kentucky and Lsu. My question is. Who the hell is this guy planning? Nine point two blocks a game what? I have not I have. It's private school basketball in the state of Tennessee so? Took it over people who look like my oldest son in some cases like the blogging. What after another like I don't know I never been to a laws and basketball game and I've never even actually met. Say although it is true, my son and Mussa. Were classmates in my son to tutor him in in certain classes I. I don't even know if say knows that. My son is his classmate. He might, but I don't know that I've never I've never even had a real conversation about Mussa with my son. Other than so, what kind of young man is he and was like really nice? Really Really Nice guy like you know doesn't walk around like some big time. Basketball player I the only other times. I would talk to myself about Moses. Like Hey, did you see that dunk? That was on instagram last night or something like that? Because like fans are crazy, and at one point, the two schools involved in the Memphis in. RECRUITMENT MOST HEAVILY WE'RE MEMPHIS IN KENTUCKY and I'm like it doesn't matter what happens I. will somebody connected to one of those fan? Bases will blame me for it if HE GOES TO MEMPHIS, Kentucky fans it'd be because I pushed into Memphis somehow through my son, and if he goes to Kentucky Memphis fans, it'd be like see parish eight says all the modern salads like I'm not even getting involved. The only time my son had ever been asked about Mussa as recruitment. That I witnessed was one of my friends recently asked him when they were over at the house, and my son's answer was he always talked about? Georgetown but I don't think he's going to go to Georgetown and that was the extent of it. So he was right. Maybe my son's got a future and being a recruiting analyst, right?
