"File that I access for the catalog pages is a number 7 50 on brisnet dot com. It gives you the full pedigree page, just type in the horse's name or brood mayor, and you can just take a look who they're related to. And it's just an awesome awesome tool for those that are interested in exploring this and using this in their handicapping very much recommend doing so. Do you find that pedigree handicapping is more important when you're looking at horses trying grasp for the first time as opposed to a horse that's a first time starter racing at say 6 furlongs on the dirt or is it equal for both? It can be equal, I do like to look at the pedigrees a lot more when looking at turf just and but we feel them just looking at a standard 6 for long sprint I think pedigree can also be important just by looking at safe for example as the mayor thrown first out winners in the past. And they can be under they could be unturned. So I'm just kind of looking for horses that are related to other horses that one early wanted a particular distance, one of the one on a particular surface. So you can cover a whole lot of ground. All right, handicapper and analyst and writer, he does it all. Vance Hansen is with me here for the twins buyers triple play that is number 8 wild guess who is his selection in race ten at Tampa that's the second leg of this edition of the triple play this morning. The final leg will go out to the West Coast. We'll go from Florida to California and we'll go to del mar race 9, which is the great one. Hollywood Derby, Milan and 8th on the turf 11 horses signed on. Number 9 wit coming in for Todd pletcher is the 7 to two morning line favorite does wit get it done or is there another option in here for you, Vance? I'm going another option and a number one Cabo spirit has been very good for him nearly all year on the turf in Southern California. He's won a couple of stakes full of Hoya del mar Twilight Derby last time out at San Anita good second and the cinema back in June. The only real knock on his recent form was a 5th place finish in the del mar Derby and you kind of look at his running lines Cabo spirits fell way behind the pace much more than usual that day. Swung very, very wide when he was the lightest of all turning for home and just kind of blunted his late kick I thought. So that was an excusable racy bounce back and turn in a really nice stretch run in the twilight Derby state a little bit closer to the pace that day and then Joe bravo got him to the wire just by a half length in the twilight Derby. So I do like the form of Cabo spirit. I like the fact that he handles delmar pretty well. This is a very difficult race to decipher I think in this case there's been a lot of grass traces of trip is going to be very important. If compost spirit can work out the trip, I think you can continue his good form here in 5 to one I think is a pretty fair price given his odds have been much shorter throughout most of the year so far. Yeah and a couple of his main competitors celestial city for suge McGee here. I mentioned wit the 7 to two morning line favorite for Todd pletcher coming from the east coast. Cabo spirit does have that home field advantage over them, which I think going east to west is sometimes tougher than horses going west to east. Would you agree? I agree. And that goes back historically, many decades. I mean, you've often seen very great horses go out west and just don't want to you just don't learn to lick for whatever reason. Think of a horse like Seattle slew or a Kelso. So yeah, California has always been pretty tough on east coast horses. It's probably not as pronounced bias as it was, perhaps, some days gone by, but yeah, I think it can sometimes be a lot more difficult. Yeah, there's no doubt about it. Vance Hansen here for this week's twins byers triple play, just to recap Vance's three selections in race number 7 at Tampa Bay downs he will go with number 6 white hot gold odds of 9 to two in race number ten at Tampa. He'll take number 8 while guests also at 9 to two and then in the 9th of del mar, the great one Hollywood

"That horse is a was supposed to be like a monster on the dirt at the beginning of his career. They've tried them on grass now and he's really taken to it. So looking forward to a big effort from him for Michael poley and Vinny viola saint Elias stable. Which horse Larry is the most highly regarded of the locally based runners. Would it be number one Cabo spirit? I think Kabul is period of the hour so that wind and the Twilight Derby for sure and George pop up the dromos had a great meet here and he and Joe bravo, what a team they've become. They've been winning races right and left at San and even del mar. So I would think Cabo spirit, especially with that nice inside draw, should be able to get a good trip and it's going to be probably one of those patented Joe bravo rides where he just kind of waits and then on the turn he makes with that explosive movie loves to try to make that move kind of early and catch people off guard and anticipate maybe a move like that with Cabo spirit. There have been some amazing horses to win that how they would Derby over the years, including raging bull back in 2018, California chrome in 2014 seek again the year before that, he had court vision showing up Johar, we're going to see who adds their name to that list later today. And again, you'll hear Larry's call of those races coming up at delmar this afternoon. Larry, how about the races tomorrow? The grade one matriarch, the grade three Cecil B. DeMille. How about those races? It's good to have these old Hollywood park races like the Hollywood Derby and the matriarch still around. We all miss Hollywood park and it's great that del mar has kept these races alive. As far as far as the matriarch goes, we're going to get a chance to see regal glory at our favorite distance of a mile again. It didn't work last time out because she ran against modern games and the boys in the breeders cup mileage just wasn't the best race for her, but hopefully she can bounce back. Jose Ortiz writes her all the time today with Jose not here at delmar. We're going to get flavian Pratt on regal glory. So that should be a really interesting thing with the new jockey and pizza Bianca's in there. A breeders cup winner for trainer increased off Le Mans just another guy shipping in from the east coast. So a ton of east coast shippers all weekend long and looking forward to calling them and seeing how they compare to the west coasters. Yeah, that's the signature event. Again, tomorrow, the Cecil B. DeMille is race number 5 on the Sunday program. That one's one mile on the turf course and it is for the two year old boys and another highly contentious race here too. Yeah, for sure. A really nice group going to post in the Cecil B. DeMille a big field in a really competitive one horses coming a lot of them just coming off of maiden wins. The interesting or speedboat beach in there. I'm still trying to figure him out. He broke his maiden on the dirt at del mar and broke the track record that day in Bob Baffert took him off the dirt. He's running now three consecutive times on turf after this race. So he knows something we don't about speedboat beach on paper. He sure looks like he's a better dirt horse, but bob is sticking to the grass with speedboat beach and trying to turn for the first time. So we'll see how he does in there. Yeah, going to be a fantastic weekend. As I mentioned, all that great stakes action coming up in Southern California and then Larry heads east will be a Monmouth or his home base of New Jersey for a very short time and then he heads down to Florida for the championship meet working with fan dual TV. Larry, that's been something that you've done quite a bit of over the past year, year and a half or so. And I know a lot of people really enjoy your insight and analysis and some of the stories you're able to tell on there. What have you enjoyed most about that gig? I think it's the storytelling part. Luckily been in this game a long time and been at a lot of different places and with that you have a lot of stories to tell and I enjoy doing that more than the handicapping end of things. Although it's nice, every once in a while come up with a winner that pays a decent price because that's something as a race caller. You don't get that in that feeling. So I do enjoy that. I mean, race calling to me is still my number one thing, but the opportunity to kind of spread out a little bit and do some different things like this has been it's been a good time. And I'm looking forward to doing that at Gulfstream this winter. And we'll see where we go from there. It's sort of it's sort of been fun to go to keeneland and all these different places. In fact, I think I'm going to also get a chance to cover the Louisiana Derby at fairgrounds for them this year and then the bluegrass. So it'll be great to go to all these different places. You know, Kurt Becker always used to tell me that working doing the race coverage with us on HR N, whether it was The Kentucky Derby or any of the Derby prep races or Triple Crown races, even the breeders cup was a huge help to him when he would call races at keenland because he was getting familiar with those horses. So is it like that for you too? We're working with FanDuel TV. You're seeing so many of these horses in the program every day. You get to know them and their connections, that when you do get a chance to call them, it's beneficial to you. Yes, absolutely. And I told the FanDuel TV people send me to as many Derby prep races as you can. I want to see these horses and I want to see them in person as much as possible because when the first Saturday in May comes along, I want to know these guys like the back of my hand and it's better to just see them and be a part of the whole week of talking about these horses rather than looking at a set of past performances, Derby, we can say, okay, I've never seen these horses before. I want to know them. I want to know them well and same thing goes for the breeders cup. I mean, when do you get to breeders a couple of weeks that's the familiarity factor when I was calling it nyra would be so familiar with those horses. Now I'm more familiar with the West Coast horses and it's definitely beneficial to be at these races and see these horses before they have to call them. Yeah, the prep starts long before game day for Larry Coleman's Kurt Becker and all the great announcers that we have in the sport today. There's no doubt about it. Larry, listen man, appreciate the visit. As always, enjoy closing weekend. We'll look forward to hearing your calls and look forward to watching you on FanDuel TV later this winter. Sounds good. We'll talk to you soon. All right, Larry call us here. And when I come back, I'll

"Dave, the not taking anything too seriously part of me says we've all been pretty pissed off after rides from certain jockeys, none of us enough to make terroristic threats toward them and the entire jockey colony. Yeah, when I heard that story, I wondered if you were the one calling in those threats. So listen, and Churchill is doing the right thing by really not elaborating on this because it's an ongoing investigation. I would love to know exactly what happened with this. Because it just seems so odd on the face of it that there would be a terroristic threat against the jockeys at presque isle downs. It certainly doesn't sound like something when you think of the word terrorist and certain people, you have different visions that come in your head. You don't think of the jockeys at press guile downs as what would be a target for them. So I wonder somebody was obviously upset. And I wonder what this is and if they, if they have any way of tracking this person or these people down, but obviously doing the right thing and calling the races off and I joke about it, but it's really not that it could be a scary situation. So glad glad everybody is okay. All right, let's get back out to some stakes races where they've got three graded stakes on the San Anita card tomorrow and race number 7 is the grade two Twilight Derby three year olds going a mile and an 8th on the turf. We've got a nice field of 9 going to post here, Dave. Morning line favorite is the 9 war at sea coming off a third place finish in the grade two del mar Derby in his most recent start. Yeah, I changed my mind during the last break. I originally picked war at sea in here. I thought the race off the layoff last time was very credible, great to competition, ran against some good wins, finished third beaten a length. And I think improving just a little bit on that gives warrant see a huge chance. But the figs don't stand out. And the 5 to two prices, it's fine. I told myself I wanted a horse in here that was ice three to one or 7 at two and were at sea is close to that. Number 8 speaking scout has been running kind of at secondary tracks recently and not necessarily winning, but running kind of competitive races. The last one at Hawthorne would be very competitive with this group and I very much am in the camp of Graham motion, I think he's an excellent conditioner often spots his horses really well. I like that speaking about Hernandez. But again, I'm not that pumped up about the three to one price and a horse that I just don't think towers over this group. Handy dandy number four, Hernandez decides not to ride this Peter Miller gelding who he won on last time out is stepping up in this spot. I think the figs on handy dandy fit with this group, but at 6 to one, I just can't resist perfect flight. And I understand the last two races, the two best races of his career came on dirt, and this is a turf race. But I think the Hoya back on August 7th when he was beaten by number 5 Cabo spirit. I think that was really good and the two races since all albeit on dirt against lesser are quick heat. I think perfect flight might just be getting good right now. And at 6 to one, I'm going to give him a shot. Well, I'm going to go a little bit off the rails here with number two. Go Joe one. 12 to one on the morning line for Paula and Jose valdivia junior. Gojo one has never raced on turf. He's by Britannica out of a more than ready mayor. Anytime I see the words more than ready in the breeding lines, I think why are we not running this horse on the turf? It seems like the more than ready is all handled the turf. Of course, some a little bit better than others. I do know this. If gojo one can run on the turf, he is a wired a wire threat in a race that does not have a lot of speed. He's run very well as last few starts on the dirt, going around two turns. He's now going to try the turf around two turns, a little longer distance. But it looks like he's working well coming into it. And if he runs to his breeding, he's going to have a shot at a pretty big price, so go Joe one for me at 12 to one. I'm going to try to light up the board in the grade two Twilight Derby. Let's jump forward all the way to the tenth and final race on tomorrow's card at San Anita. It's the grade three autumn miss for three year old Phillies going a mile on the turf. We've got a big field of 12 going to post here, Dave, where ginned up. Well, I think that morning line maker nailed it on Cairo memories. I said to myself, I think this source should be plus one 60, 8 to 5. And that's exactly what the morning line is. If you think Cairo memories, towers over this field, and it's going to kind of run a B plus race off of a long layoff that that is absolutely reasonable to me. Cairo memories is three for three at Santa Anita, two for three at the distance, has the top figs, has speed and makes a great deal of sense in here. But if you think that Cairo memories might run a B minus or to race off the layoff. And the only time we've seen Cairo memories off a layoff, she didn't run very well back in March at Santa Anita. Then you have to ask yourself, well, who else? And I didn't find a ton that I really was excited about. Number two, I guess we can throw out the last one had some major, major traffic issues. And then you go back to the route races, and they're pretty good. They fit their fine. I'm not excited. Number three, hammy's ready.

"12, pretty good group. There was some nice horses in there. Not to visit deer. What do I talk about? Who was the Chad horse with the long one name? I forget. But anyways, you know, Thor's just won a grade three and got a pretty decent speed figure. Lower than some of the competition, yes. But not even in the zip code of being 50 to one. So I don't know if I heard from many people it wasn't in here. Like I guess it added up or whatever. So it was just befuddling, I guess, that the horse was that priced, and then wins at odds of 9 to one. Mason kind of sat the stocking trip behind smooth like straight, took the lead, did kind of exactly what I think you want to do against smooth light straight, which is just head him. And then out fight him, because he'll sit and fight you, but it does seem like he'll let you keep your head in front. It has to be, look, he's obviously an extremely talented horse and he's had a very good career. Like, very, very good career, smooth like straight, he's made, $1.42 million, which he might be right at one 5 now after that. Third place finish in this race. What do you make? 60 grand. Yeah, he's a little under. But it has to be frustrating, even though he's had great success like to always, I mean, he's had the lead, this is kind of an impressive impressive stat. He's not always been on the lead at the start, but he has had to lead at the stretch call in 8 straight races and all of those 8 races are grade twos or great ones. And the one that was 9 races ago where he didn't have it, he was a half length behind and he ended up getting beat ahead in a grade one Hollywood Derby. By domestic spending. And prior to that, Twilight Derby, he had the lead mid stretch and one. So 9 out of ten is last races. He's had the lead at the stretch call. And a number of them he's had lead by a length or length and a half length three and a half. Half, half. And then it's just second and next second and a third and a second and a half second ahead. Second a half is second a half. This time, third, a neck. Like it's crazy. And it can't be, I just don't think it can be an ability thing. I don't think you can consistently get beat by that tiny of a margin based solely on ability. It has to be like something, it has to be something in his head where he's just like, no, I'm just going to come with you. Like, we're having fun. We're running right together. And then the jocks like pushing him away. And he was like, no, I don't want to go past his horse. He's nice guy. Let me stay back here, neck back. It just has to be something else. I just don't know how he could consistently fall ahead or a neck short. But he does. And, you know, like I said, all the admiration to him and the connections. He's an awesome horse. But it is a fascinating study of this, but Cheryl spite with the big win. It's a grade one win, obviously good for Tampa Bay. The Tampa Bay stakes makes us proud. Especially after class causeway, we had a rough weekend with Tampa Bay shippers going elsewhere, but good to see that one get a win and shiro spite a very, very nice win in the maker's mark mile. Real quick before we leave you for the day. As I said, I'm recording early Sunday. So if anything happens Sunday, I just missed it. Sorry, so we'll catch up with that. We'll catch up with that on Tuesday's show with any Sunday news that happened. Then I'll talk about going to Gulfstream and pompano and all that kind of stuff, but the pop thing is going to be weird because it's like it's such a great card. So I feel like there's gonna be like a fun buzz in the air and then you realize it's like the end. But last thing I want to mention, sorry, was the count fleet stakes. The count fleet sprint at Oak Lawn and Jackie's warrior over a sloppy sealed track broke sharply got the lead, opened up, able to hold off late run from let's get lucky. Kind of look for just a split second like they were going to actually come and make it close there, but able to find enough and I get the win, the workman like victory for him in his first start back, picks up a workman like $300,000. Bob's edge, I think, just up against it from a task deal standpoint. I ended up going off at 8 to 5. And I did come with his run just not as potent as normal. I'm sure the track condition probably. Some of that and the fact that he was just chasing a very, very good horse. Another part of it because he was beat by two very, very big long shots who finished second, third. So Jackie's warrior back in the sprint division. I'm kind of curious how it's going to play out this year. Obviously, doctor scheifele didn't really go fire out in the Middle East. At least to his best ability. But flight line, of course, I mean, he's a different, he's in a different zone, but is he, is he kind of a true sprinter? Are we going? I mean, I guess he is. But are we going to see him in like 6 for long races?.

Oh, here we go. U.S. attorneys recommend 36 month sentence for rhyme, in a November 24th court filing new U.S. attorneys recommended a 36 month sentence for suspended veterinarian, doctor Kristian rain, and further described his role in a horse doping case involving more than two dozen individuals, the proposed length of sentencing, mirrors what was outlined during Ryan's guilty plea hearing during a hearing rather August 3rd. The length of the sentence will ultimately be determined by U.S. district judge Mary cave moscoso in another court hearing in the southern district of New York scheduled for January 5th, according to a filed letter to viscosi from U.S. attorney Damien Williams, quote, Ryan actively marketed, sold and administered SG F 1000 and alleged performance enhancing drug for the non medical purpose of illicitly improving racehorse performance. That is Ryan dope horses in an effort to scam others through a prolific fraud. Rhine through his veterinary practice further illegally distributed the prescription drug clenbuterol, providing it to trainers in bulk to administer to their horses without issuing valid prescriptions for that drug or otherwise administering that drug due to a medical need. During his plea change to guilty this summer, Ryan implicated trainer Jason service, and in Williams letter to vice gosu filed Wednesday, the attorney described some of the interactions between the veterinarian and trainer. Services maintained the rather a plea of not guilty, while others such as Ryan and trainer Jorge Navarro have changed their pleas to guilty. That wraps up this.

"Big money. We talk about racing day from across the pond, especially right now as we're only a week away from the breeders cup and we're seeing a whole bunch of invaders coming from Europe. But this is across two ponds to get over to Saudi Arabia and boy, they are just offering money ungodly sums of money for the 2022 festival there. And of course, the signature event, the third running of the now group one Saudi cup is set for February 26th, 2022. Well, opening day out at Churchill downs is this Sunday and they've got two stakes to bring in their fall meet. The first of which is the $200,000 rags to riches stakes for two year old Phillies, going a mile in a 16th on the main track, a short, but sweet field of 5 set to go to post Dave, where janda. I think you can argue for all 5 of them. I think it's a really, really good competitive race albeit a small field. I ended up with number 5 dressed only horse here to beat winners and has done so in big fields. Now, the obvious knock is no dirt form, but I'm gonna assume a win at Arlington park in a race rained off the turf and a win at Kentucky downs on the turf that dress is gonna be okay on the dirt and I like what I see in terms of running against really big fields. Speed to be somewhat close, but kick to go buy in the lane. It's a wide open race. Who did you go with? So I went to number four ya giri for a ride for sat and Tyler gather. I thought she looked really good in her debut when at Churchill downs last time. And that's not saying a whole lot. She crushed the field. She won by 7 lengths she beat a name dame jovial who actually ran a pretty good race finishing second in a tough maiden special Wayne event yesterday out at keeneland. So I think you're Gary is affiliated to be reckoned with. She's by shackleford out of a medalia. I like shackleford a little bit more for sprints. And I like medallia doro more for routes. So really hard to say whether she's bred to be better sprinting or routing or middle distances. I think it's just one of those kind of wait and sees when you have that breeding that you Gary has. But she's done nothing wrong so far. She retains the top rider in Kentucky and Tyler gaffe Leone. And the biggest question mark that I have is how she will handle Churchill downs, all of her works came at either turf way or keenly, so to my knowledge, she's never raised she's never been to Churchill downs. We'll see if she's as good at Churchill as she was or rather, I'm sorry. She wanted Churchill. We'll see a getting back to Churchill. If that she appreciates that, now getting back to a surface that she already knows, I apologize for what I was saying that I'm looking at one thing and thinking another. Okay, dressed for Dave, you Gary for me in the rags to riches reached 5 on the opening day card this Sunday at Churchill downs. Their other stake race on Sunday, all the way ahead to raise ten. It's the counterpart to the rags to riches. Phillies ran in the rags to riches. The boys get to run in the street sense. It's not just restricted to colts and geldings. It's for two year olds going a mile in a 16th on the main track, $200,000 on the line, but a much bigger field, 9 of them set to go the mile in a 16th. I'm really curious to see if you have a strong opinion in here. I kind of found nocks on everyone and tepidly end up with kiss the sky who I just think is the most consistent always fires solid, maybe not spectacular, finished second last time. It's the favorite in a stakes race at Kentucky downs like the one guntown. I really want to like guntown. But what happened last time, a well beaten 6th in a grade three event. Maybe it was the pace of the race. I don't know. We just, we never got any run from guntown or number four red danger. I'm not sure what to expect a mile in a 16th on the dirt after we've seen three turf tries and a good Saratoga dirt going 5 and a half furlongs wasn't read dangerous best race. I ended up with kiss the sky, but more because there's no one else I'm really pumped up about. Okay, so I thought it was a race you could go a few different ways as well. Kiss the sky. It's certainly one of the ones that has a chance. He is not run poorly in three career tries. I'm going to stick with a horse who is just one for one, and that is just to the outside of kiss the sky. Number 6 howling time a son of not this time out of an arch mayor. Now, not this times I consider not this time kind of a super sire type. Same. Similar to what I would categorize into mischief. Now obviously he's not as accomplished as a stallion as into mischief yet and maybe he never will be. But when I say supersizers that you can't pigeonhole the knot this times or the intermission into, well, these are routers, or these are sprinters, or these are dirt horses. Are these are turf horses? I think you can get some from anything from the progeny of not this time. On the damn side, though, when I see arch in the breeding, I think running forever. And I think that howling time will appreciate the extra distance, he was good, maybe just winning on talent alone, breaking his maiden at 6 furlongs last time out coming from 6 lengths back and running wide on the turn to win going away. I think he'll be better as the distances increase. We'll see if Joe talamo can get him into a good spot and if howling time is in fact better routing than he has been sprinting. If he's at least as good as a routing as he was in that sprint debut, he is going to have a chance to win. I think he has a chance to be even better as a router. So howling time for me kiss the sky for Dave in these street sense stakes, say that 5 times fast, $200,000 on the line mile in a 16th on the main track at Churchill race ten on their Sunday opening day card. Final race we're going to look out way out west at Santa Anita and it's the final race on their Sunday car, the grade two, $200,000 Twilight Derby..

"His wheelhouse from here on what What options are are out there. The planning forward and and and you know the there's still some three year old company exclusive exclusive opportunities. Yeah i believe that goes to the state at the end of keenum which is only a mile. I think it's called the bryan station or the following day this the twilight that's called the twilight derby at central nita which is a mile eight which i think probably the way we'll lean 'cause you know we'll never get he'll get some turf out there and it's the just want and of course You know that's a race that some to some years in proximity to the breeders cup you know with breeders cup adele. Del mar this year. Not the case but It's interesting that you know to go out. There does he. I know aggressive to be thinking about you. Know what what. A breeders cup Opportunity might you know might be but you do. Have you do have the hollywood derby as well. Right in november. The november delmar meet after breeders. Cup maybe if you're you're out west you make a you make et cetera runs. No i think that's right. I think if he ran well at simpson that would probably keep him out there and running back at the end of them are well and the nice to this one is. This is just mentioned. Saul bringing the source and the medicaid only Something we haven't been used to Much of late You know just Just not just the matica name without Without added Partners yeah this is so this is so bill and like i said they brought him over. You're really looking for firm earth But i think the most developing. I think he's going to be fun horse even more so next year. And i can't i i guess i remember i don't i having trouble remembering the that two year old campaign you know and and and what And what went on although. I'm sure i'm sure we saw a. He came over late in the year. And like i say he kept catching softer and But he ran very well at pimlico. I think we've probably ran one time too. Many last year we ended up going out to california. And i think that pointed probably had had enough. He'd had a long season and it was probably one race too many. You know i'm looking. It's funny i it's funny. What races graham. When when you when you go and look at horses form and after after the virginia derby win and then looking back at that. Kent the top. Finishers out of the kent. Yes this time was just second The other day at in that dueling grounds derby Chasing pavel medco's horse and like the king ran a of steak a good steak race the other day some where what was said yesterday. That was this weekend in the saranac. There you go absolutely it was third Saranac so that. The format of that can't is excellent. Yeah that's interesting. I mean. I hadn't actually that closely. So that's That's pretty solid credentials. Right they're very much And i don't even know what the while that other horse that 007 ran against you. Plow wooten asset and When i looked at the race. I thought You don't want this horse Sources okay And it was great. It was actually a great day down there and it was a terrific meet at colonial overall but you also one with tune in the old nelson and And that seemed not wanna save you know a foregone conclusion because you know so many things go wrong but Tuned look look very very tough in that spot and then came through. Yeah mean look. She benefited from a great ride from zeh And she really came to self down there. I thought her allowing trace is pretty impressive. Things didn't go quite how expected in the In the race on but you need to every day she got left a little bit of the start. Which just happen to before. But jose didn't panic and i thought she one really nicely and You know to get hurt stakes. When she needed a bagpipe win she was well over you. What What's out there for her. So she'll come back logically in the all along laurel which is a nice thing that Good timing so. I think that that makes sense. Well and Certainly can't move onto other topics without mentioning invincible gals. Excellent effort and You know to me. Vicky oliver's philly flippant. Was you know they've actually took tons of money. Ended up going favored but invincible. Gal you have to be pleased with that effort. Yeah please in a little frustrated at the same time you know. I'd love to get her a stakes when She's just been knocking on the door. She's always right there. I thought that was probably one of the best races the other day. Going a little further than she's been before so that opens up At opens up new options. For what What's her what. And again i don't have i don't have everything close by Mike ryan right and jeff brown and and and jerry hanley then j hanley there. You go nice fulfilling. I think again. We'll probably probably look to run her one more time. Maybe in the pin of qinglin and then we'll give it the winter off and get some sun giving some time to develop. I think she again. I think he's another one. That could be very useful next year. Well and before we talk about saratoga and some other Some other spots including some woodbine the stakes runners. I just got a terrific note that That nick sent. And i hadn't thought about this but Eight third consecutive. Virginia derby in in the odd years Just howard in the seventeen. That was run at at Laurel and then english be and nasa nickel. That's my attention that's Kind of cool. It's become my right. It's very nice. I and you know you got for you. Given your stock. Your typical stock is having colonial a as an option. And with those purses. it's gotta be you know a condition book now that You know you frame. Yeah no doubt. I mean you can. There's several things you can count on having a really good course and there's something to be said for that the person who are very strong and you know it's a it's a day trip throat so it it really works for us and you know. It's not a coincidence success. Well and i just Pulled it up five yet. Five wins at the meat and You know when when you're when you're going up against You know some Some salt the veteran horsemen like hammy smith. That stuff to win a training title. But you you you had Seventeen starters and five wins. That's a nice meet. Yeah no the great meat for kind of compensated. A little bit frossard sogo which was pretty dismal. Well we'll get to that The the speaking of english bay english me one.

"Need that on the internet go to four vo mo four foresaw is powerfully awesomely. Talented horse His run that he had their the twilight derby the hollywood derby and the matthews brothers mile. Mathis brothers mile was insane. Very very good. Didn't run the world cup very well but came right back to win. The del mar mile in the city of hope mile went to the bench again. so clearly. there's something going on or some kind issues but You know when he's on his game. He's pretty tough now. He's gonna have to beat horses. Likes mood like straight like hit. The road who are in you know full form. I know hit the road. We haven't seen in a coupla months but certainly not layoff. I mean you know a long lay-off of any kind. I mean what an probably gave him What two months off looks like. Yeah april night. Came back to work in twenty th probably was in there for a couple of weeks before the first work so yeah it makes sense. Give him two months off and bring him back for a lead up to. I'm sure the breeders cup Is where you know. Dan would probably love to see this horse Breach cup mile right. That del mar. Why not is this race of winning. You're in. I didn't even look. It doesn't say maybe it is. Maybe it's not though but either way it's obviously a prestigious race. I gotta think road going to be primed and ready to go really. Didn't fire his best at keelan. There you know whether or not that was a You know oh the east coast. Horses are better or what i you know. That's up for you guys to decide but does mood like straight of course coming off defeat last time out even though he ran great just as honest as they come. I mean this horse just almost always in the hunt. He's also always short price Trying to next shares is one. That i i love this force for some weird reason. I always find him You know he's. He's often a price because usually over his head but even when they drop him down to like one hundred he didn't really run all that much so he i just don't think he's quite there anymore you know. Could he jump up and run big. I don't think you could beat. It would literally take all the top three to not show up. well For him to win. I think neptune storm is certainly capable of winning an ice race like this but i mean i don't know if those top three or when they're on their game they're really tough and i think there are better. The next shares is so But i think mo- fours a you know is going to be pretty tough. He just i just think him at his best is really really outstanding That being said you know he's i mean he's done well. A delmarva dumber hasn't necessarily been his his best place. He took a couple of losses. There i think three in a row in twenty nineteen granted. The couple more second place finishes and he was kind of still becoming. He was young. Who's zoos. I dare starts like three four and five of his career so i just think he's different horse now so he's he's going to be tough there but fundraise. I really excited. The the del mar mile did want to mention too before we leave the The woodbine queen's plate car coming up on sunday the dance smartly part of the undercard as well. I mean would buy when they put on a good card. It's it's usually pretty damn good card and a dance. Smartly stakes grade to event chad since One up there with Twaddell said hey said at well Who's been would buy before. Christoph climate Sending up a mountain makina and You know couple of the local guys coming in but the queen's played a mile and a quarter now. It's you know it's rare. You get to run into restricted race for a million bucks and so you know the plate. Trial didn't have all that much participation. This year is horse field. But there's thirteen here. You know play trial run for one. Hundred fifty thousand a as is often the case. Woodbine oaks winner is showing up money for row for the the various cards have Some serious representation in this race and kevin has four. Is that right. See four more. Sid has some tino. Has one gram ocean sends up dance. Some oh who was Just beaten last time. But i guess my overall thoughts on this race so i what i most interested in. Is the gail cox owner title forces. Who's just very lightly raced. I try to get steaks winners. Got beat by a couple of these and kinda just had an even finish but man this horses just so lightly raised and good connections the speed figures fit and is twelve to one in the morning line. I just really interesting. This is one of those races where at least to me on paper. I don't see anybody that like jumps out Riptide rocks effort. It would buy last time. Did kind of jump out from a speed figure standpoint but it was a six furlong race. This is a mile quarter. It's a lot different. And so i just didn't see it. Certainly the oaks winner is going to get some attention. I think there's just a lotta horses that look kind of the same to me in terms of abilities and so i just want to kind of find someone in that range whose prices not being accordingly and. That's that's where. I make my stand obviously still want away their chances. And and what have you but I just thought it was kinda one of those racist that looked Ripe for. I don't even want to say something goofy to happen. Because i don't think that any of the horses are all that like discountable. I just think there's not that much top to bottom difference which to me is gonna always lend me towards the ones that are the bigger prices because you know pretty obvious right way. I always think it's funny when attrac- handicap will say this is a really really wide open race and that's why i landed on the six five favorite way. What first of all. If there's a sixty five favorite probably shouldn't call it a wide open race unless you think it is and then you should be one hundred percent against that horse else. Think that's funny. You know think it's one thing to say who you think is going to win but like is that should be your play. I also think jessica who i work with you know. Of course i'm biased. 'cause i'm friends with her but she does a good job of that where you know she'll be talking about her top pick in the race. She makes three days in advance and she'll say the paddock. Like look at sixty five the sources and a top pick and so i'm you know she'll just go. I'm going to the number eleven. This one I think i think analyst need to do that like if you think racist wide open and you know granted you might you know you made you pick a few days before the you know. The action is different than thought. But that's every horse player out. There is doing that right like at least to the good ones aren't married to their picks two days before. I think we talked about that quite a bit. I think we talked about it with don even yesterday. Like you don't want to be going to the track like with your pixel written down and you're just going to stick to them no matter what because the odds board needs to dictate some of what you do if not all of what you do and so if you show up and you know i love this horse. Always four to five well in love with him got single and you loved him at three two one anyways. That's that's my message to leave you with. Don't go to the races with a predetermined plan of action. Now you want to be aware of everybody and you want to be you know handicapped and look and ready to roll. But i don't think you want to be married anything until you kinda see how you think things are going to shake out now. I know with pick fives and stuff. You can't tell the later legs but you certainly know the leg the first leg and you certainly know the willpower and second legs. He should have good idea at least in two of those four or five legs. That's what i'm going to end the week with. Is that right. they're big. Thanks to don lupo who had just mentioned for joining us this week. Thank you carry brian. Winning the jonathan sheppard this week. I thought that was one of the coolest stories that we thank you to michael him. Who joins us as well. We'll be back next week five brand-new shows oh. I should mention something before. I let you go. I'm going to take my vacation..

"Very good luck horse with a lot of talent. Any you know it's interesting because you look at you look at the schedule and there's probably a lesson here For you know for owners and that is you know you you to be patient and even with thirty thousand dollar purchase who missed his two year old season. you know. Look what you get now. I mean talk about what went on last year and a point of entry himself right was a late developer. I've shoghi explained a lot about him about his career. Sunday diner former. So you got a little bit of that but talk about his development and who broken. I got him started exactly. I mean You don't wanna rush one of them. And i think that That is the case with this horse. although he did train nicely allows fall He was almost ready to run in. November came up with astrid issue. We turn them out for the winterbottom back in in march Got him ready and he made his first start in june But yeah he was pretty much ready to run in november. I was hoping to run them at churchill november but he just came up with a very slight issue so we ended up just turning them out forget about him for the winter and then bring 'em back so it worked out good. Maybe it worked out dog for the better but He he He's a horse that we did like quite a bit. I mean we're we're looking forward to him coming back in. That's for sure. And any and i've got his entire work tab here in front of me which is really interesting. He got to the race track with you in october of last year. And as you mentioned you in poverty probably planning for You know that stars of tomorrow to card at the end of november and eventually by december after a couple of tries a couple of works at turf way he gets put away for five months and comes back at you know a much. I imagine a much more complete horse. You know an extra six months of development. You couldn't have expected him to to run like he did. Go and five and a half. He's not pedigrees. Certainly not a horse that you would have expected to win. I outgoing short. Well i'll tell you That's probably just tells us that. He's a good horse in god. Natural sprinter that's not what he's going to be real good at. He's going to be a distance and he'll he ran a mile the other day but he will going forward. He'll run much part in that. I believe but he was able to win five and a half time out because he's a good horse Just a naturally talented horse. But he's not a true friend or such But he was ready to run in june. And i wanted to run a church. Show where he was training and it just so happened that there were two maiden races on the grass on at five and a half and one mile and eight. And i didn't wanna start out at a mile and a first time outside that let's run them in the short rates and built from here but he was talented enough to get it done in that position i wrote him and he was very impressed with him Well this is exciting and happy. Happy for home wrecker To have a horse like this yeah. They're great people. We've won five grade one together Run not we've won five So that's We've had horses for them for a long long time but They've had some good horses in the past and It looks like they've got another one on their hands right now. The bushfire bushfire won three grade ones for home wrecker and myself and of course we had taylor's valentine more the house so Yeah they've been all modestly priced horses not expensive horses Yeah they've been they've been good Very very good flying for a long time. I love it. Well how how does the you know the rest of the season unfold For point me by well we'll we'll we'll run them. We'll run them in one of the tree grass stakes coming up. There's one at kentucky downs one douaumont. Then there's a few later on in the fall as well So when nominated him to all the appropriate rates even then we'll as we get a little closer will make a determination which one we should run them in next but I would assume he's gonna eat a rally belmont kentucky downs nice and maybe maybe the hollywood derby as a late season goal. I think so. I would think that would be on the on the cards for sure. Maybe the twilight derby we'll see. Yeah yeah. I mean we'll just take one race at a time point me by The secretariat slash. bruce d. and. The eddie i ask everybody else. most likely i imagine the last trip to darlington. Yeah shame really very beautiful track. And it's a shame that It's not gonna racing not going to continue at arlington The really should be something done to prevent it from happening. I don't know what that might be but Yeah i it's sad really it's It's a beautiful facility and Yeah i feel bad that The people in that area don't get won't be able to get to see it any longer through arlington. yeah no doubt now You came very close. We should note before. I ask you about anything coming up. W- should note that Came very close to a stakes. A weekend sweep because lady kate Coming off the the time away and it's been kind of an interrupted year. But the very nice lady k came back running at ellis in that groupie doll and just gets nailed late by brad cox's Donald burto tap. It philly yeah Artillery ran feuds. She was kleenex Lady solid philly. She wanted to groupie doll last. Sure from coming off. Layoff this year and did not have a prep. She hasn't run since the first week of april We gave her a bit of time off at the farm after that race and She'd come back really really well. And raising the groupie doll was exceptional and I think she could have a good paul. Nice the spinster or what. She's going to stay moderately. You know distance wise or or the you go longer while the the model and the exchange rates churchill opening weekend so that's probably where she'll run there she she's she likes churchill tomorrow. It's her prefer distance since. I think of milo let sixteenth is our best since anywhere around there. Mylan eight might be stretching but Yeah suit would run at churchill next most likely all going well well and of course last year the unusual the unusual And and impossible to duplicate groupie doll to the las ran No no no lingerie end in september this year right right great one at churchill that you're the whole schedule was kind of Moved last year But the rates the rates of churchill's great tree. And i think that's probably good spot for her. Next eddie how about a quick snapshot of a couple of maidens that are coming up and that includes tomorrow at indiana itsy-bitsy betty and Then blondeau At ellis on. Saturday bitsy betty is make per start tomorrow at indiana. She's a daughter of intimacy of the. She's making her first star. She's four so we had her ready to run last fall and she came up with an issue so unfortunately we had turned it back out for a second time She had few different issues earlier in the year. but She's she's come good right now and She drew derail which is not ideal for a starter. But she's very nice and she'll run real well. Stacks went and Blondeau You got You got atom. "Eric's pick in this race smooth like straight If you look at what smooth lake straight has done this year. He has been very good narrow. Defeat in the kilroy mile off a pretty sizable layoff from his effort. In the math is brothers mile up. And since then graded stakes placed. He was third beaten a neck by domestic spending and colonel. Am domestic spending the best her force in the united states and that was in the turf classic. And that's when colonel liam and domestic spending dead heated in that very exciting turf classic churchill downs And then he finally came back on his first career grade one win. In the shoemaker mile last out smooth like straight is very talented horse. You go back even further into last year. He won the holly. Excuse me you want twilight derby and also the la hoya handicap at del mar so we know he likes to surface. We know he can win over here at the state level. I don't love any of the older horses in here. The one that i think is the best is say the word and he has the least amount of questions for me. United is very inconsistent. I liked award winners last win. But i don't really know how he's going to do on the cutback And for other horses like count again. Day are super inconsistent. And i'm not willing to go back to them in this spot. So i'm going to join eric on smooth like straight just because i think he is the best horse on talent however say the word closed really well in the shoemaker mile. Going way shorter than he wants to go. This is going to be erased. It is perfect for him up. Four the del mar handicap. I don't know that say the word is gonna win. But i think he's going to run a very big race in here. I would expect to see the same top two that we saw in the shoemaker mile with smooth like straight and say the word running one two in here so i like both of the i. I like both of the top two from that. Shoemaker mile likes mood like straight just a little bit more because he his I in my opinion just a little bit more talented and the final race of. We're going to preview for this weekend. Is the great to san clemente This is a mile on the turf. Del mar and it is also a prep for belmar oaks. Which is also run on. Pacific classic day might pick and here is going to be going global for trainer phil d'amato this philly has been very very good since coming over from europe and she has dominated has not lost over the turf course at santa anita. This is her first time running on a tour. Of course that's not santa anita but to very nice graded stakes wins in the honeymoon and providencia. You go back to china doll. Stakes is a listed race that even further back to the sweet life. Cutting back should be no problems. She won at a mile in that. China doll stakes. She is cutting back from a mile in eighth. But i'm not really too concerned about it. I think she's the best horse in here. There are other phillies. That i think are pretty solid in here but i'm not going to try to be going global in this race. It's very chalky weekend. Unfortunately you get these kind of weekends said. I'm just going to ride with it this weekend. Because i think all the favorite horses are the best horses in their particular races. And for eric in this rec- is going to go with madonna Who won a stake. Race on kentucky derby day back at santa anita the senorita stakes and she disappointed beaten by going global but she is cutting back to a mile in the spot so that could serve her well and with that being mentioned. That's it for our pixel this weekend for the stakes races. I'm now going to move onto giving out the two two year olds from medan. watch This week in the first one is a colt who won on the turf at first asking for trainer. Chad brown this sources. His name is portfolio company Son of kitten's joy. Out of wild again mayor. He broke his maiden by three quarters of a length in this race and the other horse. is a very impressive Two year old. Filly by gunrunner and If you know eric he loves the gunrunner babies. This philly was very good and breaking her debut she won by five and a half lengths In a five and a half furlong dirt race At saratoga so two races this weekend one of them was a mile and a sixteen turf. The other one was a five and a half furlong dirt with all that being mentioned. That's it for this weekend's episode. We will see next week when we talk about Three graded stakes at saratoga. On the thirty first of july those races looked to be very interesting including the return of the central quality. So we'll see for all that have a good one and if you do play these races..
