The Murder Case of Yvonne Layne: Searching for the Star Witnesses

"At this point. I've been in touch with david thorne for nearly two years. David has been in prison for twenty two years for allegedly murdering his ex girlfriend yvonne lane on march thirty first nineteen ninety nine since then david has adamantly proclaimed his innocence and the bizarre murder case and conviction has been featured on multiple news tv e programs and so for the past two years. I have been consumed like dwayne poelman. Warned would happen and so i decided to finally enlist the help of professional private investigators. John harden danny wexler and jason baldwin from the west memphis three and his organization proclaimed justice so back on the ground in ohio. We continued our search for chris. Campbell remember john. And danny thought rose and chris were the most key people in this entire investigation chris and his girlfriend rose. Were the star witnesses at trial. Twenty-three-year-old rose an twenty one year old. Chris both testified at trial. They said they saw joe at the carnation mall around closing. They said he told them he was in town for a job and they said that job was to kill a girl. The card joe allegedly wrote his phone number on for. Chris was presented at trial to prove that joe was there with them the native the murder and at this point. We don't really question that they were all there together but what happened while they were there is what we wonder about by trial three months after the murder some details of what they remembered changed from what they'd set in their initial statements and then a bit more change between those statements. The time they took the stand six months after that rose initially said joe was in white pants and a white track jacket by trial. The pants were black. Rose also said that. The knife that joe showed them was definitely not a pocket knife. She said it was an eight inch knife in a sheath by trial it was a pocket knife. We tried to find rose on our first trip because we had many questions about her statement. We wanted to know why it changed and also about something. She told police in her tape statement. Because i'm scared for my life. Because chris campbell for me if i said anything he met me. And that's why i've been scared. His oliver nagai as race. People do things when they're scared. Like sometimes people lie and we wondered. was it possible. She lied

"The Maison with Kevin Nation, they say that voices from your past can haunt. You had a voice from my past come back but it wasn't haunting. The other day. I was walking through the internet looking at an international website. That tells you all the albums that were released in Europe. And one of the album's was something I saw. And I know that's interesting. It was a live album from The Judds recorded in nineteen, eighty-five. It was a live radio broadcast. I thought to myself, I went to MC The Judds concert back in. Nineteen eighty-five in Norfolk, Virginia, when I was just a baby DJ, and I wonder if it was my concert. I think it's my concert. I wonder if I'm on there. I wonder if you can hear the MCB Club member the radio broadcast. It was broadcast live on country stations, Across America. Lo and behold, I find a clip of the first song called, one way rider on YouTube and well, the voice didn't sound quite familiar, but it was a twenty-three-year-old. Kevin has a baby DJ live on stage in throwing The Judds. The excitement. I felt realizing that something I did so many years ago that I'd totally forgotten had come back, isn't it? Funny how voices can haunt you? But not be haunting dead.

Catherine Bondonno of Edith Cowan University on Leafy Greens and Heart Disease

"Imagine if you could add years to your life and improve your chances of not dying from heart disease imagine if it only took one small change but first why is heart. Disease important is the cause of nearly eighteen million lives lost each year. The sad fact is that a large number of these deaths are preventable. Why because the development of the majority of risk factors for heart disease can be avoided. The good news is that we can reduce risk for heart disease through our diet. We have found that eating one cup per day or vegetables like lettuce. Beetroot and spinach can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease. We analyze data from over fifty. Three thousand participants of the danish died cancer and health. Study over a twenty three year period. We evaluated the died followed by participants focusing on vegetable nitrate intake against health outcomes related to the hot. We found that participants who followed a nitrate rich vegetable diet. Had about a two and a half millimeter. Mercury lower systolic blood pressure and a twelve to twenty six percent lower risk of heart disease compared to participants consuming less nitrate rich vegetables and other key finding was at one cup of leafy green vegetables was enough to reach the optimal levels of nitrate calculated at fifty nine milligrams per day. We did not see for the benefits in people who ate higher levels of nitrate rich vegetables. So eating just one cup of knighthood rich vegetables can therefore have a valuable impact on the health of your heart

Few Funerals Match President Andrew Jackson’s Fowl Send-Off

"Jackson was laid to rest at his tennessee home. The hermitage on sunday june eighth is funeral was attended by three thousand mourners. Who had come to pay their respects to the man they revered despite his many moral failings parades were even held in his honour. Presbyterian minister. Reverend william menefee norman's presided over the services. At least he was supposed to. Another mourner named paul had chosen. That particular moment to unleash a series of vulgarities offending everyone within earshot. It wasn't as though people hadn't heard them before. Jackson himself was known to curse up a storm when upset or frustrated however a funeral was no place for such sentiments even for a man as colorful as andrew jackson after several minutes of interruption. Paul was escorted from the service to another room. According to nor he had grown excited by the number of people gathered and couldn't help himself missy. Paul had grown up in the jackson home having been adopted in eighteen twenty seven and became like another child to rachel jackson andrews. Wife rachel died a year later in eighteen. Twenty eight paul was then left in the care of the rest of the family. After mr jackson's inauguration in eighteen twenty nine the president never forgot about him though and often asked how paul was doing in his letters home. Once jackson returned home after being president he spent much more time with young paul. Who picked up on every word that came out of the man's mouth. Eventually paul took to repeating everything he heard and oftentimes that included swearing like a soldier to anyone and everyone inside the house. It's not clear how long paul lived. After that in the wild they tend to have a life span of twenty three years in captivity however african grey parrots can live as old as sixty. That's right paul. Was the only parrot ever forced to leave a president's funeral for hurling offensive words the guests now. That's what i call foul language.

Why are they without question that can Illo Alvarez should be the favorite? He is the favor. He has a long track record of big wins against a lot of quality. Opponents. He's faced many many top fighters is only laws entire career when he was twenty three years old got out. Doc by Mayweather junior. No shame. If you lose to a fire lifebuoy Mayweather at a time when he was still, you know, somewhat inexperienced at the top level. And ending of Jacobs has been a good fighter atop biter for a long time. Does not have the caliber victories or track record that that that can elaborate avarice has, you know, a lot of people look to the fact that can L O has two big fights against skin draw that most people thought he lost. But still got the draw the win that was last September. Whereas Danny Jacobson two thousand seventeen suffered a decision loss to go off can close by really good fight. But a loss, so people know Cannella better. He's got the better track record. He's got higher accomplishment and deservedly the favourite. But by no means at least to my mind into people that you talked to cover this for a living. Do they think this is any kind of blow out fight whatsoever? This highly competitive, at least on paper fight that that shakes up like a very entertaining fight and a fight that you know, is even if you think in Illinois was gonna win the fight. It's going to be probably a little. Bit tough getting there. What makes it competitive when you look at Daniel Jacobs. What is it about Daniel Jacobs other than a decision loss to triple g that makes us or should make us believe that this is going to be a competitive fight? Well, Jacobs has been a top fighter for a number of years. I mean, this is the guy that's got other wins on his record. But you know, when you won his vacant title this past October. He did so against undefeated fighter named Sergei. Devon chanko. Who did not have a lot of professional experience. He's only like thirteen or fourteen in all, but at a monstrous massive amateur career, no akin to but not as good as this. Loma chanko type thing, you know, three hundred plus amateur wins at the top level biting all the top fighters out of the former Soviet Union countries. I mean, a real real stud in the amateur and has proven himself to be a quality guy in the pro ranks, and Danny Jacobs defeated him in a in a good close fight in October to get that title. He has other wins of consequence. He did have a fight with Gluskin where a lot of people left the arena that night thinking that Danny Jacobs should add Andrey's that that that would obviously change the perception by a lot of people had he actually gotten the victory that a lot of people thought that he deserved. I mean, you spend five minutes watching Danny Jacobs fight and the style. Fights in the attributes that he brings he's physically larger than can allow duress. He can he can fight going backwards, which is not something a lot of guys especially at big can do he has excellent punching power. He was also a top amateur. You know, coming up through the USA ranks, you know, he didn't he was not an Olympian, but he was at the top level. Multiple New York, golden gloves championships, which is one of the toughest, you know, amateur routes to go. If you're in the amateur ranks, and he's just a really good fighter. Dan, Rafer righty? Online about look at what I started with. And look at what I ended up with not figured, well, that's non famous, well, what kind of car was it. Two thousand two hundred as sonata was grody. You know? I know. Yeah. Those cars aren't really impressive in and of themselves. What'd you do to it? Oh, I'm just had inside and outside. You I said have at it. You know, do what you do. He did a great job. There's nothing like a professionally detailed Hyundai sonata, Marcus. Oh, no. Anybody? You wanna talk about the weather because it's an old men do and I'm talking about me when I say old, man. But anyway, go ahead. I'm no, man. I wish I found myself. In a situation where I was living in southern California. Yes, I was sent to. Fairbanks Alaska in nineteen seventy eight. Something called the captain Bartlett in it looked like an old army fort, which the big logs all around it probably wasn't old army for. And when I walked in to the place. They had a little vestibule newspaper. Coldest winter in twenty three years. And, you know, being a young guy, and he five years old or whatever I saw, you know, who cares, right? But. It was cold there, Fairbanks Alaska, and it's supposed to be cold there. Yeah. But I mean, it was big time cold, and I just happened to be, you know, it was my tour de they're so sure sure. I would take my shower and I walked outside. I could touch my hair evenly dry. My hair was like crispy. Oh, yeah. You have to plug your cars. And so the radio doesn't freeze everywhere you go. I could sit and it would freeze the forage hit the ground. Holy crap. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I don't know if you heard Chris from Westchester if it's going to be as cold as they say it is with the wind chill tomorrow. You should be able to take a steaming Cup of water go outside throw it in the air. And it'll basically turned into steam as soon as as soon as you toss the water up. I think that's probably a pretty accurate. You know, that's wild. Yeah. Yeah. It I've talked. I've just share this with anybody who might be bored. Wants to listen to it. Okay. Well, is there any more of it found one hundred dollar Bill in the snow? That's nice. Yeah. You know, when you walk like hunch down you always looking right down the sidewalk in. I saw money there. And I look at dollar Bill. So I picked it up. And I looked around you know, and look around, right? There's no body for like can thousand miles. Well, I mean, you're you're in Alaska, you find a hundred dollar Bill. That's an excellent story anymore to it. Well, I spend it on liquor. You know, which? But you know, what this is that that call in it exactly the way I thought it was going to. Let's go to Joe in Michigan used to be in Toledo Ohio during and was there during what the the blizzard of the late seventies. Joe Gary, Jeff, by the way. You gave a great customer morning, Saturday before Easter rash. Spring early in the morning. Yeah. Absolutely. Well, you know, I it just. People focus as Christians you focus on Christmas so much when Easter is the reason for their religion, even existing. Yes. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And then the belief in him. Yeah. That's correct angry. So anyway, what what else you got? I I was in my third TV engineer. Toledo. Was located old hotel downtown Toledo. Yeah. FM station down. I won't name. Okay. Twenty four years old and. Central northern Michigan originally anyway where I am now. But. What is the secondary hobby? So Wayne local Detroit station gives me a heads up on this guy for twenty years. You know, sure. Back all these winter clothes tottered, fifty bucks cash. Can I go in Tuesday afternoon? I say I'll take you shift your shift Morrow and on the couch. Okay. Blue in about two in the morning, right? Went out and had a few cops. And sure. Boy by eight o'clock in the morning our transmitter site. It was just nasty. I mean, we ended up with two feet of snow easily. Well, I had to stay downtown. Catch the network recordings. We camped up there. Until Sunday night. So you're you're you're not on the air because the transmitters out, right? Yeah. Gotta do network storage. And I'm watching TV to our stuff. Well. Hey of a party for two or three nights at the local or county. Put us all up downtown, right? And this was a union job. I mean, I made money and Ryan, and there was drinking and debauchery and frivolity. Of course. And not only that Red Cross brought food, and I went out I hitchhiked. Coptic. Drove me to the local cop bar. I got two cases of beer. When you had a we're watching movies. I won't tell you what kind. VCR's and BTR's. Yeah. It was just a best three or four day blizzard. I I've ever. You enjoy blizzard very much. Didn't you? Very recently. It was very active winner skier and. I enjoyed everybody laughed station. You know? But I showed them all there you go. So so anyway, you're a survivor of of harsh winter. And and you seem to survive it pretty well. Or at least you did that. Now, it just makes me angry. Joe doesn't make me angry. It's an inconvenience now, I think I move past. The inconvenience Neil this year. It seems to get progressively worse. Every year. Yeah. Was terrible today. Get my car outta here. And getting a we have a lot of snow yesterday. So it is tough. That's why I have to keep reminding myself. How lucky I am by having a warm place to stay tonight. Thank you for a good. I in a good place to stay in the food to lay down, man. But oh, I know. I know it's the only thing that takes the edge off the anger your Joe. Thank you. Good show. Listen, you're breaking up. Saturday mornings immensely. Well, thank you for listening tonight as well. Kyle and cincy. Hello, you're on the nightcap. Hey, how's it going gone? Okay. Man. What's up? Talk about that. Bernie Sanders comment. You guys were talking about. Yeah. Yeah. I was talking about the footage of Bernie with his wife in the USSR nineteen Eighty-eight singing with the Russkies. This land is your land. They were on their honeymoon. That is where they honeymooned by the way. Well, it sounds with politics. Nowadays sounds like they're kind of trying to practice them, you know, communist or whatever it is. But no, that's the whole point. I was making Kyle the point I was making this was dug up by somebody who's involved in the Beddoe Aurore campaign to damage Bernie Sanders and the race isn't even officially on yet. And this is January of twenty nineteen. We're more than a year away from the first primary and the dirt has already started being flown. It's nothing. That's prizes. Me. I've known Bernie Sanders was a communist for years. Yeah. Look, I'll be honest with ya. I'm twenty two years old. And the politics thing hasn't really sunk in until about a year ago when I started really start following what's going on. Me being as young as I am. And I work fulltime job and. I don't live with mom your daddy. And it's it's crazy. What these kids and their socialist ideals, something should be handed to me. I you should. It a part of everybody else's. This is exactly what I was gonna talk about after the news, but we can get a head start right now with you Karl I was talking about the Camila Harris rollout as she announced her candidacy officially for president in her hometown of Oakland, California, and everything that she was saying was definitely geared to younger voters who've been invigorated by the likes of Alexandria, Casio Cortez. Who has an absolutely no idea what she's saying when she saying it, she has an agenda, but really nothing to back up that agenda, and it's all about her. It's all about it's all about class warfare. And it's all about dividing Americans even further than we already are. And and I.

"Grateful for what you have today. And I'm a firm believer that if you're not grateful for what you have. Now, you will not be able to reap the benefits of your future abundance. So you know, if you can't be thankful where you're at today, which is a stepping stone to something even better in your life. Then you're gonna it's gonna be difficult for you to have the demise. Mindset to be able to receive more abundant in the future recovered. This is our guest is new book is the gratitude effect, and in that book you point out that you can reframe your past. So you can be grateful for where you are today. Reframing the past is very difficult for most of us because most of us tend to remember the the things that went wrong in the past or how he behaved in the past or just bad things that happened in the past. That's a very difficult thing to do. But I get the I get the feeling if you can do that a lot of this other stuff will fall into place. Right. Absolutely. And and and on a personal basis. You know, I went I was married for twenty three years, and unfortunately, ended up having a divorce and very low time in my life, very very low time in my life and something that's I'm certainly not very proud of. But it was something that happened to me. And so you can either take that experience any. Experience in your life. That's negative like that. Whether it's death divorce, some kind of an abuse of some kind whatever it may be Ken, and you can either decide to make it a stepping stone or a stumbling block. So you make the choice. Bottom.
