Why Investing Isn't Quick, Easy Money With Financial Advisor Ramit Sethi

"Let me start off with what happened with my first investments. So here it is. It's around nine hundred ninety nine two thousand. Everybody thinks they're tech genius. You put money in any stock. It goes up twenty six percent the next day. So what do i do. I take my college scholarship money. And i put some of it in the stock market thinking. This is twenty percents guarantee and every day. It's going up and down but mostly was there massive euphoria. I wasn't focused. Yes yes everybody was. Everybody believed there are genius so in a bull market. Everybody believes their genius. And they all say the same phrase. This time it's different. It's such a funny phrase that in the investment world people make fun of it. It's a there mocked because it's never different it's actually the same thing bubbles expand But over time they mathematically cannot continue so here we have people making millions of dollars who would otherwise be working in a parking garage and they are giving stock tips out and telling everybody you gotta get into this j. d. s. You this you know all kinds of stuff. So i take my college scholarship money. Put it in the market. And i very quickly lose half the money because of the crash. Yeah or because of the crash and so what happens is i realized. Oh my god. I'm not as smart as i thought. It's not easy to become a millionaire through investing in two weeks and so here is where there was a pivotal moment one. I could have doubled down. And said i just picked the wrong stock. Let me pick another stock. This is very similar to what you here. with people. In the crypto world well my investment quote investment dropped fifty percent. But you know. I gotta do this coin or coins etc. What i chose to do is go different. Say you know what. I don't think i'm that smart about investing and i actually wanna learn how fundamental basic investing works so things like law low-cost long-term things like reading about john vogels philosophy etc. And i started to learn about it. And i realized you can spend your entire life trying to trade but traders hardly ever make money over the long term if we were gonna define trade timing the mark. Yeah it's like. I understand this stock it's undervalued. Yeah i'm gonna bikes. I know it's going. And i'm gonna do it short-term right so i'm going to create this narrative that ooh this stock look at the trading. Look at the chart and i'm going to try to make quick money in in four weeks. Everybody now know somebody who trades those people almost all lose

Are You and Your Business Protected Legally?

"About twenty six twenty seven years old teaching fitness classes. I'm a personal trainer. I am inc. I have my own business. I even have business insurance but at this stage most of what i was doing was related to fitness. Always doing personal training. I was teaching fitness classes. And i was teaching fitness professionals. How to teach fitness classes. I had a bunch of different workshops kickboxing workshop that eventually ended up being turbo kick. But i was also teaching this workshop called totally tubular in that work. I would teach people how to use exercise bands to do just about everything you can possibly imagine. I mean by the way fitness bands exercise to whatever. You wanna call it. That stuff is so effective. It is so good however is dangerous. Y'all it's crazy dangerous. So when i would teach these workshops i talked a lot about safety and precautions and how to check the band's before you do any exercise where you're pulling those rubber bands towards your face. I'm sure we've all seen the videos. Where one of those bands has snapped and giving somebody a nice healthy welt. Well i have been teaching. These workshops called totally tubular and a woman who had attended when my workshops taught at a local gym in southern california and she was teaching an exercise class where they were using the exercise bands while she was teaching this class. She had the bands wrapped around people's feet. See sat on the floor. Imagine this you wrap the band's under your feet and then you hold both the handles on both the right and left side. It's again anchored by the soles of your shoes. And you pull the band toward your face. A a seated row. Are you picturing this well. In this woman's class someone's band broke and when it snapped. It ripped the cornea off of one of her participants. I leaving her blind in that. I thankfully that fitness instructor was actually an employee of the facility. Where she was teaching that facility had legal liability insurance and they had set themselves up as a legal entity so that no one could be sued individually but there was a lawsuit and the damages. "The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals. The lord god had made one day he asked woman. Did god really say you must not eat of the fruit from any of the trees in the garden. The lord god asks the woman. What have you done. The serpent deceived me. She replied that's why eight. Then the lord god said to the serpent. Because you have done this you are cursed more than all animals domestic and wild. You'll crawl on your belly groveling in the dust as long as you live. And i will 'cause hostility between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring he will strike your head and you will strike his. It highlights the long standing relationship between mankind and a very particular wild beast one that has become a defining feature of the human experience. Reaction to Tesla's Q2 Earnings Report & Earnings Call

"We're here we just got tesla's cute cute. Twenty-one earnings report and shareholder letter and wow the results are phenomenal. I'm extremely impressed with what has been able to accomplish in the second quarter. Uh going to quickly go through. The financial results will look at a couple of takeaways from the shareholder letter as well and then we are going to segue into the earnings call. Afterwards of there'll be a different link for that down in the show notes but we'll get this out before then so right off the bat. Let's just look at some of the numbers here. Shift over to excel and we can see how tesla's actual compared to the analyst consensus as well as the numbers that was forecasting so deliveries. No surprise there came in right as we expected them to as they usually do automotive sales. tesla significant beat here versus what i was expecting in versus what analysts were expecting a three percent above my levels two percent above the analysts consensus that was driven by Better actual average selling prices because as you can see here regulatory credits which we talked about. In the preview i've consistently been forecasting those two high this time forecast them to her forecast tula previously. This time forecast them. too high. as at five hundred million deaths reported three hundred fifty four million meaning non automotive sales excluding regulatory credits was way way higher than what i had expected meaning average selling prices. Were much better than what. I had predicted Same thing here. With energy tussle beating my expectations by twenty six percent. Animals consensus by thirty nine percents Driven by just greater They say greater recognition of mega pack sales as quarter. Scroll down here. We can see that. A tesla over about one point three gigawatt hours of energy storage. A second highest ever. I and significantly up quarter over quarter about three times. What tesla did in key one. I'm quite a bit higher than my expectation as well as analyst consensus so that drove a beat on the energy line and then the service and other line that also came in ahead of analysts expectations. About right where i was. Forecasting it at So tesla delivering a pretty big beat about a four percent beat on the top line number there with about twelve billion dollars in revenue up ninety eight percent year over year

How to Defy Sinful Desire

"By faith moses when he was grown up refused to be called the son of pharaoh's daughter choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of god rather than enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of christ greater wealth than the treasures of egypt for he was looking to the reward. Hebrews eleven twenty four to twenty six or boil it down to the essentials by faith moses left the fleeting pleasures of sin for he was looking to the reward. Faith is not content with fleeting pleasures. It is ravenous for joy. Joy that lasts forever. And the word of god says in your presence there is fullness of joy at your right hand are pleasures forevermore so sixteen eleven so faith will not be sidetrack into the deceitful pleasures of sin. It will not give up so easily in. Its quest for maximum joy. The role of god's word is to feed faiths appetite for god and in doing this it wanes my heart off of the deceptive taste of lust at first lust begins to trick me into feeling that i would really miss out on some great satisfaction. If i follow the path of purity. But then i take up the sword of the spirit and begin to fight.

Models for Combating Discouragement

"My flesh and my heart may fail. But god is the strength of my heart and my portion forever so seventy three twenty six literally. The verb is simply failed. Not may fail this. God besotted psalmist asef says my flesh and my heart fail. I am despondent. I am discouraged. But then immediately he fires a broadside against his despondency. But god is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. The psalmist does not yield to discourage but he battles unbeliev with attack in essence. He says in myself. I feel very weak and helpless and unable to cope. My body is shot and my heart is almost dead. But whatever the reason for this despondency i will not yield. I will trust god and not myself. He is my strength and my portion. The bible is replete with instances of sates struggling with soaking spirits. So nineteen seven says the law of the lord is perfect reviving the soul this clear admission that the soul of the saints sometimes needs to be revived and if it needs to be revived in a sense it was dead. That's the way it felt.

A Look at Farallon Industries

"Couple of months ago. I told you about a guy who dropped off some vintage scuba quip at the shop. One of the regulators was an old poseidon cyclone and that spurred me to segment on poseidon here on the show. I also mentioned that the cyclone was complete with a set of farallon gauges and that there were a pair of farah line fins that were unfortunately torn so they got me thinking about doing some additional research on fairlon and doing a segment here on the show. I gotta tell you. Researching on industries was a bit of a challenge. It was difficult for me to piece the information together. So some of this may be a little bit out of sequence. Let's start at the beginning. Or what i think is the beginning from my research. I believe it was somewhere around. Nineteen sixty nine. That guy named ralph osterhaudt was working on a diver propulsion vehicle or dp that he called the mark one. It seems that this was pretty successful. Product and the us navy decided to purchase two dp marquand from ralph and it appears that that's when he started foulon industries. Farallon is the name of a small group of islands about twenty six miles due west of san francisco. I wasn't familiar with the farallon islands but found out some interesting stuff about them from what i read. They were originally called the islands of the dead by native americans and then given the name farallon meaning cliffs by the spanish. I'm not exactly sure. Why ralph named is company farallon industries. Farallon was based in belmont california which is between san francisco in palo alto on the san francisco bay side. The address was listed as one three three three old country road. But when i google map data address it came up with one three three three county road now. I like to take a look at the street view at these locations to see what it looks like today and today one three three three county road in belmont california looks like a self storage facility. One of the ways that i researched founded on industries was to look back at old trademark registrations impacts when registering a trademark or patent near sometimes a description of the business on one of those registrations the businesses described as as a california corporation producing goods and services for skin and scuba divers equipment namely self-propelled vehicles for transporting scuba divers. Interestingly i saw a fair aligned dp up for auction just yesterday. I think one of their most famous patents was also in early one. It looks like it was around seventy one and that was the shock dart famous because of its uses a prop in nineteen seventy five blockbuster draws the shark dart is described in the patent as a compressed gas injector weapon including parts. Therefore you may also see these come up for auction from time to time and complete rig gets pretty pretty expensive now. There were a whole lot of patent issued to caroline industries in the nineteen seventies. It looks like it looks like there was another row involved with foulon who is also inventor and that was ralph sham champion in an old article that i read who's identified as the president of farah line industries and was listed on a number of different patents. So let's take a look at some of these products in one thousand nine hundred seventy four. It looks like they submitted a patent for a decompression indicating instrument and it said it was an analog computer then in one thousand nine hundred seventy five. They produced a pressure gauge and started to design fins over time. They introduced the farah thin the fahrenheit which was a rechargeable hand-held light and then in one thousand nine hundred seventy eight farallon industries was issued a patent for a pilot regulator that said it incorporated a novel valve assembly in the second stage in the form of a unique main diaphragm valve and a pilot valve assembly. Now i did try to trace. What actually happened to farrell on. There's some indication that it was acquired by a company called tacna. But if you look on the oceanic website they say that. Bob hollis took a big step forward with oceanic when he acquired foulon industries around nineteen seventy six giving oceanic full line of scuba equipment with an innovative line of instrumentation products. I'm not exactly sure when oceanic stop branding their products with the farallon logo. I did find a price list and catalog. from nineteen seventy eight. They're still showed a lot of the farallon. Products including their low profile pragmatic mask their patented molded mouthpiece swim snorkel. The farah light farah fins and all their instrumentation they were also still producing four versions of their diver propulsion vehicle. The mark to the mark sri mark for mark five. Interestingly in that cadillac. I did see that. Both the farallon. An oceanic logos were shown together. And oh by the way you could still get the shark dot and he came in two flavors the magnum supreme in the magnum super. Well i knew. When i started this research on farallon line industries that would be a little more challenging than some of the other companies that i've researched farah line. Industries wasn't around very long but it looks like they did some really interesting

Wet Notes - 7-18-21

"This is what notes here on scuba shack radio for sunday. July eighteenth two thousand and twenty one first up. Today is an update on the upcoming boston. Sea rovers clinic. Historically the clinic was held in the early part of march just before the start in the northeast dive season. The show actually happened in march. Two thousand twenty just before the country shut down it was probably the last scuba diving show before cove. It wasn't possible to conduct the clinic in march. Two thousand twenty one as we were still at a high point of covy nineteenth spread infections so the decision was made to move the show to the first weekend of october in two thousand twenty one fall in massachusetts. That should be pretty neat. Tickets are on sale now for the boston. Sea rovers to day clinic in danvers massachusetts. Right now the early bird special is still available. You can attend the daytime. Saturday and sunday clinic along with the saturday night. Film festival for seventy five dollars. You can pick and choose your options and that's a pretty good deal. Don't wait check out the boston. See your oversight for all the details and get your tickets now now. Here's something new to help you with your fish identification. It's something called name that fish dot com name. That fish dot com was created by a guy named jake easterling and he is the co founder of a company called scuba. School botox mission is to reduce the cost and time requirements to monitor coral reefs by using artificial intelligence autonomous underwater vehicles and citizen science. I guess and of course this work. Jake developed a database of fish and came up with the idea of taking people's underwater video footage and identifying fish in the video. If you go to the name net fish dot com website you can view short video on what the finished product looks like. Jake also has assured Tutorial on how to make a submission the site says it will accept dot m. p. four emo v dot j. peg in png files. Max file. Size is one hundred megabytes and must be at least seven hundred. Twenty p or higher processing time is one to five days the more fish more processing the rare species. The longer it takes to verify and if your quality isn't that good don't be don't need more time to process. There's a little bit of disconnect on pricing. Jake says into in his short tutorial that you can set any price you think is best but there's also a button that says it costs three ninety nine in any event. Why don't you just go out and take a look at name. That fish dot com. I recently hadn't really interesting email. Come across my desk a few days ago and it was from reef divers. If you're not familiar with reef divers they operate with the clearly came in resorts. Cobol coast on grand came and the little cayman beach resort and the beach resort. They're known for their valet diving. Well reef divers is expanding our operation in the caribbean to turks. Keiko's now they are partnering with east bay resort on south. Keiko's it looks like they plan to be up and running there by late. August east bay resort sits on a mile long beach and boasted. Every room has a beach view. To get south goes she'll need to fly into providence jalis and then you can take either a short air hop over or board the ferry. It's not that long of a ride resort officer an all inclusive option. That seems pretty good reef divers outstanding operator in the caymans so sure that you can look forward to superior valet service from nemo turkson. Keiko's as well so many places to go diving. What it dilemma. Just about every week. Get an update from michael light. Any contains various tips and tricks for better underwater photography plus they also provide some product updates but also in this email is some other interesting information last week. They introduced me to an organization called washed ashore and the articles title said using discarded plastic to save the ocean. Now washed ashore. It is a five. Oh one three or c three nonprofit arts and environmental education organization aimed at bringing to light the world's plastic pollution problem. Well how well washed ashore started by angela ponzi who is a lifelong lover of the ocean and after the death. Her husband from a brain tumor. She turned to the ocean for healing. What she also found was that the ocean needed healing as well so she turned her artistic talents into creating sculptures. That are marine-related using the plastic. That is washed up ashore and they do some spectacular sculptures. I was also amazed by the fact that they have over fourteen thousand volunteers. Working with washed ashore. These are not small sculptures. Either you can check them out at washed ashore and take a look at some of their work. You will be amazed well. I'm sure that we've all heard about the billionaires who are competing to go into space amazing stuff for someone who grew up at the start of the space race in the nineteen sixties. But there's also another race going on and that's the race to build the world's deepest pool at the top of the list. Right now is deep dive. Dubai located in nod al sheba. Which is fifteen minutes from downtown dubai. It's an amazing sixty meters deep. That's one hundred ninety seven feet and contains fourteen million liters of water or three point. Seven million gallons. The pools constant thirty degrees celsius or eighty six degrees fahrenheit. It is team doesn't abandon sunken city. Now that's pretty cool. They have an onsite hyperbaric chamber restaurant gift shop and dive shop. Put this in perspective. The other deep pools around the globe include. Why forty in italy at forty two point one five meters deep spot in poland at forty five point four meters and there's either one coming online or it's online and crom cornwall england. That's called blue vis at fifty meters deep. I wonder if there's some kinda limit on just how deep can build a pool. I'm sure we'll be amazed and finally today. Here's another message in a bottle story. this time. It comes from michigan. It seems that jennifer dour the owner and operator of nautical north family adventures of scuba snorkeling. Glass bottom boat company was cleaning a windows on her glass bottom boat in the cheboygan river when she spotted the bottle inside. The bottle was a message from ninety. Five years ago it read will the person who finds a bottle return his paper to. George morrow cheboygan michigan until where it was found. The message was dated november. Nineteen twenty six. Jennifer posted this on social media and george morrow daughter michelle who's now under seventies reached out michelle indicated that her father was probably eighteen years old when he put the message out. There sounds like the battle didn't travel very far. However now i wonder just. How many messages in bottles are out there. Well that's it for this edition of wet notes here on

That was a big drop. I'm going to have to drive this coming up next. We're gonna talk to any young and he's going to tell us how to be responsible with our finances and we're gonna ask him maybe a lot of questions about. Nf teas and irresponsible. Spending that mike ryan has been doing lately and remember the expense. Stent new laptop to middle look media. This is a metal log laptop. So i can't tell them that i broke it. Already and kenny. Happy on is a party with ellie woman board and unified on a way to bridge the gap on financial literacy with the college kids. These kids are in repertory juniors or seniors in college leader which ucla are at community. School already been adopted are even on lewis these kids that are still saying what no matter. What my living situation. I'm still going to pursue education and are come from a place where you know The banking about money was one way and i were beltway. And then i got older nama thinking you know it was a little bit but The rules and principles always remained the same and I think it's my obligation to help. Sound light and provide the resource of information sue people. That really need now. Kenny as a result of Some major news in the financial world we have a pair of people on the zoom call who have decided to take up financial literacy themselves. I have mike. "Too hard then. It's too melty served yet. It right away and you eat it. And it's it's nice it's welcoming. I wanna chew my ice cream and so hard to cut it with a knife and a fork like when you're eating a rib eye steak that's the that's what i want on my ice cream for user a difference between fro yo and saw serve. I think that fro yo now here. I fro yo is a subset of soft serves when i say soft serve. I'm thinking like dairy ice cream. Like carlisle or d q. Or any local soft serbs. Stand where i'm going to mix it with orioles possibly res- fro yo is a subset of that. Look i wanna add one know that i'm getting throw yo in not so if someone said let's go get ice cream froyo place you'd be like this is not as you were excited. You should have said that this that we're going to throw you out. I'll be one about joe lotto and custer. Do you treat that the same. That's a really good question. I haven't really plumbed the depths of all of the different nuances of conversation. Okay i'm from the midwest. So i'm neither southern nor east coast. So maybe my opinions different but like i think soft serve is technically chemically different than ice cream but i think just as delicious and also more opportunities for toppings that kind of meld together. Well so i don't see it doesn't inferior product but i will say like custard soft serve ice cream all kind of you know in the same realm gelato completely separate way creamier way richer just a different mouth feel but yeah froyo completely different froyo and like any type of like non dairy ice cream. I think like if you're taking someone out to ice cream you should be like this place only has like milk ice cream or something you know for your superior in terms of taste because you can make 'cause like soft serve. What can you do like if you wanna get crazy. You could do like chocolate. Vanilla like swirl in cone right or i guess in a cup like fro yo you could get something that's like sweet and then throw in a tart also and then you mix it together. You put in some gummy bears and maybe like some hot and the teller. Something makes it all together and get all the taste in their spoon. Yeah gummy bears out of my ice cream. Hard to hard cookie dough though and ends in dummy bears suck right on us your goals sprinkles orioles is really the answer that everyone is not a car valid rainbow or chocolate sprinkles zaveri. I go chocolate. Crunchies incidently but you go rainbow or chocolate sprinkles between those two rainbow and chocolate sprinkles always rainbow always rainbow rainbow with my wife always rainbow. But i think fro yo probably the best texture and to use jessica's term their mouth feel far superior to hard ice cream or i mean heart is screaming like maybe it's the pure version used to turn it in therefore we have an attachment to it because it was all part of a evolve facet though exactly now now we can put it into a machine but blended with oreo still like good goldstone. Though gimmicky giving.

"Think I mean look a thousand people altogether in a an auditorium I just. Don't see I don't see Marty Walsh or Charlie. Baker coming around on that I don't either. So I mean at some point we have to have a discussion about moving it or do I I don't know we're doing something I don't go to a Free State I dunno mate but as Maynard New Hampshire anymore like maybe New Hampshire with. Navy next June. That's a long way away. Because I don't know what we've talked about this. I don't know whether a vaccine does or doesn't do. Or if people are actually going to take it, right. So I mean this is just something that never goes away to some extent. Is just ten percent of what it is. Now forever on a viruses have hung around for a long time. So you know I don't know or maybe the vaccine is fantastic like trump saying. Johnson and Johnson's on it. Are you going to get it? I mean, it's hard for me to put something in my body feels rushed like that. It just is I'm not. I'm not that worried about getting it Yeah. Well, there's that for me I'm. Not, anti vaccine but no, neither am I. But this vaccine in the polio vaccine those are kind of time tested. You know the polio vaccine is one you trust this one that feels is rushed as anything so. Like if you said to me, would you rather get coronavirus right now which I don't WanNa get I understand it's potential dangers. or Put that vaccine, my body I'd probably go with getting coronavirus, which you know I might have had already. Yeah I know I have to say probably at the same the same I don't feel I, don't want you to. The one I mean to all my kids who get that vaccine the here's the problem though. Is the schools in demand these get that vaccine. Correct. So that's where it becomes tricky. I'm like you said I'll get the flu shot every year I'm not sure it's affecting the some years I get the shopping at six years I forget and I, don't get sick didn't we have that old audio of Dershowitz at one point he was on Newsmax or something saying that the government if they want to hold you down and force a needle? Yeah. Yeah. I mean so I mean that's what they're show it's either the character of the spiders will oh yes. Good old dirty dirty Dershowitz, dancing dershowitz dangling their shorts they call them. So yeah I I am not a big proponent of the vaccine, but you know, I'm a big proponent of the vaccine wanted to come out and I want it to be successful. I know what I'm saying I I I wouldn't tell people don't don't go take. What you have to make up their own thing I have what should have with I think should be naturally healthy skepticism by rushed vaccine. Yeah. Because I mean, you know there's no is clearly no indication of what's going to happen fifteen years after you take it now. Or fifteen months after you take it fifteen weeks maybe but maybe a year from now you're fucking right I who the hell knows that you have no idea. It's the same for catching. Cova. Though in that regard some, there are some like long term but see. I'm walking around jamming covert into my body. Yeah. I know you know it's but. Mean that's the difference I mean you you're trying to avoid going on I. mean you try you know? About you but almost everybody I know is doing the best they can to to do that. I'm not getting a lot of meat head like you see these you know. Like you know a couple of schools around here Wilmington. Not Swamps get marblehead, they shut down their schools for two weeks because these kids at high school parties. I mean I'm okay. I'm okay with that. But at the same time, those kids go home brothers and they have sisters those kids go to school now like. To me if a town does that shut down everything for two weeks. You might as well at that point, it doesn't even we are how many how many months passed the let's shut down for two or three weeks and everything will get back to normal. That was it was just like had no effect what this March they did March for the schools in numbers actually went up even after the numbers keep going up through. April. Yeah. They started slowing down the we days in Massachusetts Forty fifty cases and our over a thousand every day I'm not sure really what happened. I know there's more tests. I do understand that. Yeah. But the positive numbers going up as well. Yeah. So I, think what they're saying now is it's it's the elderly it's not really any more it's younger which to me is like sort of a a good thing. Yeah. Well, I think we it ran its course in all of the long term care facilities yeah right. Yeah sadly. Yeah. I don't know. so much unknown, the world moving watching known he known quantity WanNa put on your wrist. You will feel better you can remove yourself just put on look at the time. The Look at seventy six dumb stories and tax and movies and all that.

"Donald. Trump. All the president's Women Donald Trump in the. Predator. for chat and through that reporting year prior to that being published last October. I in investigating from trump and of course, moved in the same circles the New York pompey. And So many people who I've talked to said, hey, you know trump's current board, but you know we should really talk about every. You know so forth. So I ended up picking up a lot of sources that I decided after I finish the trump book that the you know the the natural segue from that. Book right at the forty nine on trump right before I finished that book as when Epstein was found in his jail cell. So it was kind of a cliffhanger me at that point I was super excited about it and as soon as I finished that book. I started on the t book but I have to say you reference the James Patterson Book Your has been some good journalism. But I read everything that has been out there. But nobody to me had done a full vile of Jeffrey Epstein in terms of starting in. Back. In Coney Island. You know. What did something happened to this Ga was what was he molested was beaten up. Berry but Berry seems like it seems like, no right like it's weird. It doesn't seem like there was. Unless. I'm missing something. It seems like had a fairly normal upbringing. Well we interviewed for this book. The person who really could into those questions is brother Mark? Epstein? And more. Both to us very briefly very guarded really about how he fell down when he received a phone call that every had died in jail and he's in his first reaction was that. it wasn't suicide. That's somebody you know. killed. So that was his brother's hey concepts I'm certain that his brother knows a lot more about what may happen Jeffrey when he was younger, we did we did Investigate jeffries roots and we found out that you. Severely, bully by neighborhood kids. Now, of course, you can't. You can't say bullying led him down the criminality that that he went down in terms of you know raping Three dozen women. Three dozen. Younger Women Multiple Times. So nothing nothing that can happen to individual can equipment what they're gonNA. Do in later life of course, you look for clues and. He was when he was in jail before is that he did tell to in its that I interviewed that he you know that he was afraid of the. Of. black men in prison because. He was bullied. You know severely back in Coney Island when he was a kid and so forth and he actually tried to pay off some.

We've talked to us on the show for you know for years I I read filthy rich when it came out and I thought it was didn't tell you everything, but it's the Epstein. Story is so strange because it still feels either yearbook after documentaries. So much of it feels still kind of unknown a weird way. After after investigating him and his life and going Maxwell. Know, doing hundred interviews and so forth. I have the writing down to number questions that I still have right right. And You know it can the twenty I mean you know there's there's so much you come across it really is never been explained I mean. You know after the investigation and got the slap on the wrist we found out that the FBI acknowledged in in the in this redacted document that seen have provided itching to the FBI we don't know what the difference. What was the you know telling secrets about some of their you know rich and famous and powerful men. "Be better but it's not about being better or worse it just is what it is the is the game now so shut the fuck up about how big men are undervalued and how you can't win a championship with jump shooting you need to feed dwight howard in the post shut the furry chicken yeah i just got a lot of really bad takes and you know what that's just part of the show right in ernie if you watch ernie he knows that he'll sit there and try to rain these guys in and hit chuck just talking about the dumbest shit he says things that are patently false regular regularly and ernie's just like oh my god i can't believe i'm having it's like babysitting beijing and he is the best he ernie johnson is read his book we've talked about it here ernie's fantastic he's i mean there was an e sixty piece about him he may be the human being on earth and there's families has adopted a half a dozen kids from terrible warn torn countries he's got children with with special needs he's he's an amazing person but he is also the best tv host there is he just handles these guys so well so deftly it's amazing and i would let ernie hit me in the face with a baseball bat if he asked me to if he was like look man i really hate to do this but i have to hit you in the face of the baseball bat to get through this day i'd be like go ahead and do it bro you've earned it try not to kill me but if that's what it takes i would allow it to i love the i'd spent six months in the hospital ernie told me to not for real i'm he's unbelievable in part of my reasoning for choosing to fight chuck i've seen this man move around on the set of inside the there is no way i lose this fight size out the window athleticism out the window this guy cannot move for shit anymore and that's exactly where throwdown with his tubby old s by the way is on the set i believe that i am to nimble into two.

"He has this beef that he will not let go with former rockets owner les alexander who just sold the team this past off season to tillman for thiede but apparently less told chuck that if he took a pay cut he take care of them on the side so that they could sign scottie pippen and i believe nineteen ninety eight and then that never happened they signed scotty charles barkley took less money according to charles and then less never made it right the number he always quotes three really millions yeah he claims less osen three million dollars and has been shitting on the rockets ever since on what i consider to be the greatest sports analysis or commentary show ever created inside the nba with charles shack and kenny i fucking love inside the nba so it makes it all the more painful when every time the rockets get a nationally televised game which is a lot now because with the best team in the nba halftime will come around and we're up thirty six points on some team that's supposed to be a playoff team and then i had those into charles shit all over the rockets again because he can't let this fucking grudge go we don't even have the same goddamn owner it's not even the same guy if you got beef with less take it up with him don't dump on our franchise every it just hurts man because i love charles barkley i'm charles fan i think he's great dude and i think he does good shit and i like that he's a degenerate like but also a great entertainer.

"In such a like a misplaced area but augusta georgia has it once you've been to the tournament and this is this will be my first year to take part in this part of it but this is what everybody says like once you've been watching it on tv is all the more bad ass like seeing amen corner on tv when you've been right there and cnn person is even more magical like i've watched highlights and shit like i'll go i'll go back and watch like tigers greatest shots at augusta and it's even cooler to be able to be like i have fucking been there and there's not it doesn't really work like that with other sports you know what i mean like you don't watch a super bowl in cowboys stadium and you think to yourself like man i've been there that's crazy you just don't that doesn't work that way right but with the gusta national having stood in these places where some of the most distort moments in the history of the sport have taken place is just something about that that makes it even cooler enclosing i'll say this if you have the means you absolutely have to experience the masters at least once in your life and i should say i wouldn't have been able to do this if if i hadn't gotten put up by natty light so it was an extra special you know opportunity that i got as a result of my job probably the coolest opportunity i've ever gotten as a result of my job and it was incredible that being said like i will for sure.

"This is an expensive experience you're paying a lot for the tickets for lodging and they know that and that's why they've done what they've done with the food i soon porsche lease because they don't want you spending all that money to get there and then the food prices taking away from the experience you know what i mean so they've they've kept them very very reasonable there's no way they're making money on this food to speak to the town of and i think it goes back to the other thing about when you're watching on tv they're less commercials in the other golf tournament and augusta national just like you can broadcasts tournament but you will not run any ad i think i think the rules about and there were there were couple years ago where they thought there were too many ads and they said there will be no ads this year and the network said okay fine you have no choice and so like e goes back to the thing like if you want something this prestigious and you're gonna pay to get it and it goes for the tv networks or goes for people that go to the event oh yeah the best we can do is give great sandwiches right there efficiently yeah in it's so bizarre because the town of gusta as a whole is is mostly shithole i mean it's just a regular as podunk little town in georgia if you removed augusta national there would literally be no reason to visit their ever no offense to augusta citizens like i mean 'cause here's the thing they have a hooters though they do have a hooters john daly hangs out there the entirety of the tournament we met john daly actually it was very important that was that was really something the guy comes out of his trailer his rv parked in the parking lot ten feet.

"But yeah as you mentioned it's like the allegedly the burj you'll hear on tv chirping in the background peacefully when you're watching the masters those are piped in from some unknown source allegedly that's how intense the whole setup is it's like eerie again how every detail is precisely worked out it's like a cult or like pleasantville esque or some shit and to to build on that there are no trash humans allowed you can't be yelling out babu e or some shit you'll get mean mugged by the entire gallery and then kicked in the crotch by some old guy who respects golf more than he respects his own mother if you're caught with a cellphone on you even you don't even have to be using it you can be banned from the grounds for life for ever you never get to come back and a lot of people with the masters are there with other people's badges whether they've purchased them or they know a member who gave them a badge of whatever in that case in that scenario if you get banned the badge your carrying that person is fucked as a result of you being violating the rules so don't take your cell phone don't it's not worth the risk so at the at the at the front gate are there signs say no cellphone yes oh yeah is there a place you can like cell phone locker okay yeah okay yes i mean you can't screw around with any of that at all honestly it's crazy because like i consider myself to be a pretty immature person from a sense of humor standpoint not from like a general standpoint.

"I don't think it's alleged i think it's so you don't see any birds when you're there no and did you you here is it quiet is it loud like a regular golf tournament is it it's very very very white i would imagine like this course is not close to a highway it's out in the low near you don't hear in your on thirteen cards or flying ball you here is like crisp contact with golf balls the golf claps you know if if something insane happens you hear the roars but the roars die down in a an acceptable amount of time it's it's eerie it really is like it's that's what's so why compare it to like the facade of north korea is that this isn't real life like this is fake it's but somehow it israel and you can go do this like legit i know i sound like a bumbling idiot but the experience is still like not something i can fully grasp it's crazy but the animals thing i don't get i don't know how they do it i don't know how they pipe in the bird noises or whatever it could seriously might might like the day to when i was like okay this is a legit conspiracy theory i have not seen a single squirrel or bird and i also haven't seen anyone with a bb gun or a pellet gun like picking them off so how are they maintain how they accomplishing this is there some kind of invisible force field around the course that these animals can't get through or something i don't know what it is i don't know how they do it but they it's seriously you will not see an animal before we end the schedule of the grounds themselves.

"Yeah and if they do it like to envision this coming out of a vehicle to twenties in the back i would hope so i would hope so palls ross bold ross bohlin podcasts sorry blown out your speak good snitch is get stitches we don't talk to police gang gang gang if you're locked in a box keep making it through deer time don't let your time do you always keep your mouth shut in the words of project pat the g code is take the good with the bad smile with the sad love what you got and remember what you had so that's the g code if you've been sitting there wondering your whole life now you know live by next segment bucket list items for everyone and in this episode rb twenty six the bucket list item we're going to discuss is the masters the golf tournament the masters the masters starting next week and is easily one of the greatest sporting events of the year every year if people are hyping this particular masters as the best one in a decade partially because phil is in the mix even that dickhead bubba watson is playing well of course we have all the young guns that are up and coming in dominating justin thomas is the number one golfer in the world ricky speed etc and tiger is back possibly for real this time which makes every golf tournament ten times more meaningful and fun to watch whether you like it or not old racist white guys i'm not sure if you know this but i was fortunate enough to attend the masters and everyone knows you went to the mass oh i didn't know if i'm not sure you know if they're listening to spot guests they know that you went to the master good i went to the master's and twenty seventeen it was one of the most rewarding and incredible experiences of mine tire life shadow to natty light for making that happen i'm forever indebted natty light go buy yourself some natty light also cut the check nettie light.

"It sounds tight yeah anyway it's just a good jumping off point i think the most important takeaway for the general public here from that chorus of the song gcode code by the geto boys is we don't talk to police now obviously there's situations where you are forced to talk to police for example if you're pulled over and it cop speaks to you you're going to have to give some kind of response in order to keep the situation peaceable right you have to so if they ask you for your license registration or whatever you have to give it to them at least they're gonna ask you like fast you're going maybe just don't talk maybe you just nod or shake your head no i believe this is this is more in in the the long lines of there's a criminal investigation yes something happened yes police officer comes to your door you are under no obligation at that point to speak to the police hell no this is different than if you have been pulled over for an infraction of some yeah but i like to take things literally it's tiny concept of literally never talking cop is larry's to me but no mike is exactly right the whole the heart of this thing is look move onto the next rap lear pulled here too figure this thing out let's consult bg's heart of distracts he says mike a go for i live by the g code i die by the code don't rat don't snitch don't bend don't fault so again the focus here is no snitching no reading.
