"I think there's a lot more to come. Why is that well. I am kind. You know. I've been clear about being a dylan. Carlson fan of mentioned it multiple times on this podcast during draft season. When i was saying. I'm going for this guy. I think he's really strong. I don't think we've seen the best of him yet. In fact he hasn't even attempted stolen base and let me be clear. That's an ancillary part of his game. I'm not thinking that he's Massive it in twenty plus steel guy or even fifteen plus steel guy but despite having zero this far i wouldn't be surprised if he chased down a ten pack. But that's on top of everything even if you only get a little you know five to seven the rest of the way okay. That's not the driving force. Here of wildlife like dylan carlson. Why it'd be looking to to trade for him or get him but he is. He has fast enough to to make some good decisions on the basis and swipe sandbags. He had eighteen in one hundred eight games back in two thousand nineteen at aa but he had just one two tries last year and two in three tries in eighteen games in triple a. back in nineteen the the eighteen came in in doubling so not some speedster. But i think there's even a little bit of of stolen base potential there to add into everything else which i think is going to be better. So why do i think he's he's going to do. I think it's gonna improvements going to look like well. I think maybe even better than the two sixty average that we've seen and i just talked earlier about how batting averages are so bad. This year that we're seeing marks that have never felt good to us before or useful. And they're just they're not too bad because everyone is having such issues with batting average the to sixty is pretty good as i think it can trump. I think he can finish as a two eighty guy can add twenty points the rest of the way. Obviously that would be quite a good mark from here on out to add twenty points to your bottom line. Also don't think we've seen him fully tap into the power yet with the six home runs. He's got played skills. That absolutely worked. Twenty five percents strikeout. Ten percent walk nothing flashy on either just kind works and i have no grave concerns. There that's going to hinder him from doing anything. Big in the summer and i think tapping into that power is going to be key to obviously having a big summer. He's underperforming a bit on barrels and hard hit at at seven and thirty five percent respectively. Those marks are fine They're not. They're not beating down the door in anything. Nobody's nobody's freaking out about how great they are. I think there's room for improvement. And you look at the batted ball profile as well with regards to spray chart. And he's pretty even in terms of not only directionally but also ground ball fly ball line drive so i think he makes enough. Contact puts the ball in the air. Enough can pull enough can hit hard enough to hit. I think upwards of fifteen i hell i'd say no i'd say seventeen to twenty homers the rest of the way seventeen to twenty homers and again maybe th maybe one of the themes here not not the theme because suarez definitely doesn't fit the mold but the other three definitely do one of the big focuses. Here's runs than that. I'm having i keep kind of coming back to runs runs and batting average for for three of these guys because i think those are a bit on heralded stats. They routinely are. And i think this year more than ever. They're important based on how you know what we're seeing with the offensive environment that we're in particular going back to that batting average that they keep hitting on. He's pacing for three right now. Eighty three runs and seventy rabies. I think he's going to be both those handsomely. Both those marks by twenty. So i think he'll jump over one hundred runs and i think can be approaching about ninety rabies on the season with upwards of say what i say and twenty more homers. So that's that's the twenty three to twenty six to twenty six homers on the air so like a low to mid twenties homer count about ninety rambis bought one hundred runs in about an average. So that's gonna it's going to require some next level that that's going to require a big summer surge to get it done and i think that that is in the offing for carlson. Now again big fan of his is. This is one of my guys. Am i just saying. I want my guys to do. Well no i mean. Obviously i do but like. I'm not just making things up and trying to see something that isn't there. I think we've seen a rookie. He's still rookie eligible by the way who has been solid. Everyone's probably giving them. Atta boys say hey man. You're doing your because you are. And if he didn't necessarily surge i think he's on his way to a good season but i think there's more there and i think we can see him tap into it this season this summer. Cardinals team is okay. I like they're they're pretty solid like you know they're sitting there. They're in fourth now. They're they're game under five hundred if i were them. I wouldn't be gravely concerned about that. The reds are thirty. Two and thirty one cards or thirty two and thirty three. And then you have cubs brewers tied at thirty eight and twenty seven now. The cardinals as far as contending. I think they're going to be in the mix all year. But i don't know that they're necessarily going to take that division. Losing flaherty until august is huge. But the offense is something that i think has been underperforming. I think can jump a level. That's if they are going to jump in to the to the mix and really pushed the brewers and cubs reds. Because actually still liked the reds. And i think that the reds and brewers are the two best teams. I'm sorry cubs fans. I just still don't believe in your pitching. I was definitely wrong about campbell. I'm going to give the bullpen. Some love but that's starting pitching. I i still don't really see it. But i think if the cards are going to be part of then it's gonna come through the offense and they've had some great pieces going again. Let me be clear. Carlson has not been bad. He is one of those good pieces but aeronautical tauro. Neil yati molina have been great goldie. Goldschmidt has been. He's hanging in there. He's okay tommy edmund. Spent about average as well. I think guys like those two are going to get going. I think aeronautica and yati are gonna continue tyrone. Expect more volatility from it like he's been amazing and i think with his batta ball profile and the swing and miss and his game. He's definitely gonna come down. But i think you know jumps from carlson edmund and goldschmidt would offset that and we haven't even seen paul d. young really pop off. He's in one seventy two seventy three seventy three with an eighty one. That's eighty one opie s pause. Let me see what it is on. Wrc plus bouncing between sites et eighty two so basically the same thing. They're rarely that different Wrc boston opiates pause. So if you're if you're on between be ref and fan graph z and are going to be too far off. If you're citing one over the other i do prefer wrc. Would you say he was probably the best place for the sixers and that game or would you say another player. Yeah i think it was definitely harris. I watching that first quarter. Sixers fans definitely got nervous with joel embiid getting disemboweled trouble right and we can argue about whether those worse and software calls but generally all game the reps were calling it a little softer which is is what it is and so once embiid went out. I was really looking for who was going to take over on the offensive end and it was certainly tobias harris. I think the wizards switched a lot of screens and it got spies harrison. So i just think that when you look at this the writing on the wall porter not murray is going to start to be the second guy the second star as far as you know getting the twenty twenty five points per game then jamal murray needs to be able to provide other stats for this team. That's where we're gonna go eventually and if you can't get there who knows. I mean the nuggets have been solid right. Now they've been very good. But here's what porter's done in his his games recently. Twenty points against the pacers eight rebounds. Twenty three points against the mavericks eight rebounds twenty one points against the grizzlies nine rebounds. Twenty four points against the pacers eleven rebounds eleven and seven against milwaukee seventeen in one assist against the bulls. Those were not great games. But the last few you're starting to see other stats but then you go. Even further down the line twenty and eighteen twenty and ten eighteen and ten twenty two and seven. He is doing that. He is providing those other stats. Jamal's not a traditional point guard so you either need him to be a twenty four twenty five point per game got he has to be twenty points like that's what he's doing right now have to be there. But i just those comments struck me and i put those together with what we've been seeing.
