"Well i've told you. Lebron wanted to make that move because number one he could show the world that he could win with russ when nobody else could even get close to winning. Katie said no to russ after nine years together and oklahoma city. Then james after one year set. I'm out in brooklyn and you know what happened with paul george and you know what happened with no and no so lebron saying i got a chance to polish my go case up a little bit here. I could win a championship with russell. Westbrook in the world to say that was impossible. How did you do that if funny that katy. One is only mvp russ. He had his greatest scoring season with. Russ paul george had his greatest season with russ finished third in mvp. James harden had one of his greatest seasons wit russ and the results. The results were in the postseason. 'wow zero results. Katie got to a russian yup baby thunder they did. They also had james harden. Okay thank you thank you thank you. And then what has a can't be all man. It was game three at miami russ. Had i think magic called it the worst half i've ever seen a point guard play in the final game for to four point eight. I'm just saying they struggle. They had no chance they have. Joe you baby. There were animal now. Why this white powder dry ball russell called it all right. The minutes don't work. Rondo needs to play more in the best of all worlds. He would play a little more than russell. Westbrook would play and it's not going to happen nor should it. Ross rondo works best with somewhere. I believe you'll get somewhere like eighteen minutes. maybe twenty. He'll get the minutes. That caruso left charisma with avenue. Twenty minutes while i hot dog go twenty one minutes with also tells you the goat always needs to look ahead to a potential scapegoat in the great escape goat in the history of the league has become russell..

"See i would understand that if you have like similar to rehab like the guy who had the fewer for example like his game play and you had you a bit more stable. He was still teddy curious if needed but he wouldn't really like go for same individual place at the shy. Would i can see it being good by the meta right now where i think it's a bit more set in stone. The champions and the shampoos are nationally versatile that you don't really need that much ability out of will offer as much all right now. We're going to mark who. I'm surprised he had fin go. I i assume he has the exact same opinion and he could have used into to like back him up. So i'm curious. I mean is i just want. I didn't wanna like come on real hot and then you know. I think six rosters are great. Because i'm an had to make sure that finn agreed with me. Before i was like man bucks man rosters because i feel like they're almost always like travis said it's usually covering up for something else that's going on with the team in rarely a strategic thing there are instances you can point to but they're almost the exception that proves the rule like the one you talked about the faker one in na. We had sword and shield topley and see nine between ray impact but even those. I'm like if you just played impact the entire time. Wouldn't you just be a better team. The same way. That like i g in that tournament just stopped playing duke. I don't think he played after that. Quarter-final if i'm not mistaken could be wrong in that. But i think he didn't that best of five. He played the two games in the middle right. I thought let's just pretend i'm right. That even that situation where came in it was because the shy picks the furore when the coaches told him not to and it was like a punishment benched him for the next two games and then i think they lost the i forget what it is like a whole shit show you know and it was not like strategic masterminding by the coaching staff israelis. Either way like i understand why teams do six men rosters. But it's almost never for the advantage so i say yeah rob that we've crusher dream But maybe we're all wrong and you're in you're right we'll see i would always tell was so true. Hey rob thanks so much. I wish we had a little bit more time to to come back and forth with you. But i know we're running short time. So is there anything you wanna show up before we go to our last caller. Yeah up to my brother he just smirked a game on trumbull top and shot at the game fuel. Thanks so much for the call. We'll catch you next time. All right off to our last caller mark goes and then he can finally enjoy his vacation again. All right I was going to read out some subs but no one has subbed in twenty one minutes. yun is that how you it yoon where. Where are you calling from. Toronto ontario toronto ontario. Another canadian color Feels like we've had several times. Do you want to talk around the show. So i can't talk about like the t. l. off our coaching drama and halley. The scene has kind of become like to sanitized. Like we've really got no statements from For like past two weeks and then they come out and say that Jets been gone in all this other stuff and it's just we feel like we wouldn't have done anything if thornton really make video. Well sorry i mean i. Do you think that jet would have just quietly because jet. I don't think had been gone. I believe it had been like. I don't know forty eight hours or something like that. Before where where he ended up leaving. I mean if anything for saying they like rush to get that press conference done really quickly found out about it like the night before so. I'm a little confused by when you say we wouldn't have ever heard anything. Does it. Well it feels like the fruit of the entire like two weeks like even jensen came on to your show and core. Jj a and they all acted like nothing was happening behind the scenes and then we suddenly got this big press release anfield like if there was maybe more like transparency in the scene or like. There's like more. I guess players would be more willing to speak their mind about how they feel about these things that we would have known like what was going on and maybe people could said something so i got very distracted for a second. Sorry i heard you. Because i thought i'd been hacked because i i look into its chat and i'm typing and at says wait. How am i being biased. Wait how am. I being biased. Oh i'm travis gaffer d- Mark z and. I have realized that the laptop that i want to read the last message. I thought that i had i had. I thought that the laptop or the notebook. I loaned mark for his trip. I had logged out of But evidently he's logged in on my twitter account. How do i log him out of my twitch. Kansas ziemba is if i reset my password. "Mean like. There's no there's there's a certain almost like Not fakeness but like like old fashioned sense to the show that i kind of enjoy. You know like i kind of do like it's like. Oh yeah you guys shot this At silver copper at at sunset. Gower wherever you shot this. And that has more of like i think an impact on me than whether or not someone cursing on that set because as we've seen with a we haven't gotten let's talk about this but kevin fuck himself in a bunch of shows that have sort of subverted quote unquote. The it's live. It's in front of a live studio audience on a say we're doing weird stuff you know and i think some of those shows are more successful than others. I think great to talk about. Kevin could fuck himself at some point. But it's it's it's wild to watch those shows and get that little bit of a jolt of like. Oh yeah this isn't this is not on and it's not just because of the commercials. No i think you're right. It's not just the language it is. It is a rhythm to in just a vibe and one of the things that that tv traders can work with or that. They can find working against them. Is the expectation game. This is being presented to me in this format. That i'm familiar with her with these stars that i'm used to or on this network where i get my other helpings of x. And then it doesn't feel like that. And i wonder if that contributed a little bit to my like at like we're saying i love fain carla shows and i loved watching many episodes of unbreakable kimmy schmidt but i also didn't give it my same level the same level of as i did thirty rock and partly for me that was because the episodes you know they could put all the jokes they wanted and more jokes is great but when it tina fey and robert carlyle comedy is twenty six minutes twenty nine minutes thirty two minutes. It's a very different experience. Went into this. Like almost impossibly dangerously tight twenty one minutes and i had a similar reaction to a series that we won't comment on. Finish it yet but like mike. Rutherford falls also kind of fell into that zone. Where maybe it's on me as much as it is on them. Where i was like i am ready. Bring me the next parks and recreation type of energy. I understand how it's going to be delivered to me but it was. It was doing something more interesting than not necessarily more interesting doing something different than that was doing. Its own thing and exploring. Its own path in the type of story at wanted to tell in the ten episodes that it had because it was made for a streamer and so at. What point does my expectation trip me up versus the execution and i knew we had a couple more things to get to but that is that's an interesting. Let's put a pin in that for when we talk about the apple tv plus show physical which we're going to do momentarily. Let's take a quick break. We can do that next. This.

"Everyone just waitress. Said brunch on a saturday scottie. Pippen this i would love let and let us. We need to make that the last question of guy interview just you asking. Have you ever should sell carrying something heavy. I don't know if the diamondbacks are still here. Because i think they've been playing home games. I think they've lost seventeen straight. But i did see the other day that they had set a record. Losing twenty three straight road games. Which means basically that. You've gone on the road seven times and just got swept every single time and i don't believe that is something that would happen to a mediocre aa team. I believe a double. I'm not kidding. You when in terms of the randomness of baseball where every once in a while and an exhibition a college team will beat a major league team during spring training or whatever. I don't think people understand how hard it is to be a professional baseball team. Just because of the randomness of baseball to lose twenty three straight road games. It's why it's a record just cuts. It is no matter how bad your baseball team is. Every once in a while you love into a win into some victory just because whatever. The the other team is hitting the ball at everybody. I i really do believe what it is that i'm telling you the aa where the best prospects are that. I can throw a double a. Team out there in a major league baseball uniform and they will not lose twenty three straight baseball games on the road. They've lost seventeen straight overall. Twenty three on the road Are dreadful tim. I i'm with you. i'm completely with you a double a. Team you send them on the road for twenty three games. They come home with at least one victory. I mean that's maybe triple it. Billy well i think of double-leg teams is having more talent claim to the best of the miners. No i understand that but then it is really hard to do. That is really hard to do if you have any sort of talent on your baseball i. It's never happened before these particular diamondbacks have done it and the last away game that they won was all the way back in april. It was a seven inning doubleheader. They won both ends of it so they've been one nine inning away game in twenty seven seven seventeen seventeenth street total games. Also they're bad. Evidently this would indicate that they are about. What did you think. Billy i thought of you this weekend. When dontrelle willis says on twitter. I don't care what anyone says. I made the marlins hat dope d train amid is wrong. He made the monsanto. Dan de train remember when they had all those detroit giveaways. I still have somewhere to have to fight. Ever d train train whistle. That was a giveaway one. Time have the d train train conductor hat. Remember the outfield these guys with the trains. They got guys in the outfield. We should talk to them. We didn't up to. I want you to do a roving man on the street interview segment where you ask everyone. Whether they've shit themselves living lifting something heavy i want. I want you to go out on onto ocean drive and make sure that that happens in the next couple of days. Billy were were you the one you explain to me how it is that you got sucked into watching all the fast and furious movies all of them. Did you watch all of them here. Recently updated a dare. You know it was sucked in the new ones coming out. Friday had to catch up lots of things. That don't remember. Dan a couple movies that i saw only one time so i spent this weekend trying to catch up those around the world was going on. I'm through six right now. So no spoilers on seven or eight year. Dan don't tell me what happened. But good franchise Trying to figure out how i can see nine without going to the theaters. Though how do you think i can do that. It's not a streaming service. It's not like one of these. Hbo max releases no. I haven't found it that way yet. I need to finish washing. Because hbo max at a free trial this weekend. I don't have the. Hbo max dan maybe to some of your password so i can watch the rest of these movies because i was getting halfway through and i think it expires the next day or so. I got two more movies. I gotta get through also hodgson shaw by the way. I had a lot of judgement last week. When i said hudson shaw might have been better than some of the other fast and fears united. Found out have you heard of rotten tomatoes. Dan turns out audience score rotten tomatoes for hobson and shot the highest of the any of the fast movies. Any of them. And i would say that fast nine f nine should be fast ten because hodgson shock should be part nine because if we're going by this logic that it wasn't the main cast than two and three should have counted either because that didn't have the full castles were totally different stories also dan. I know that you're wondering about fast and furious. And i don't wanna talk about it. Too much. five totally changed the game in the fast franchise. I y k y k. You felt how watching you said six. So it's twelve th straight hours. This weekend had twelve straight hours of fast and the furious or more than that or the movies longer than two hours. Then he they vary. You know to our ten minutes here. And there. But i had to. I had to break it up at apt to watch. And then you know do chores and such things that have to be done so over. Three days i saw. I saw six of them three or four days. I saw six them. We got to catch up dan. That's the thing like money highs. For example have you ever seen money heist on flicks. Have you seen it constantly by bill. Have you seen dan. they're gonna come back in like september. And i don't know what the hell's going on by the time they come back in september. It's been like two years since the last season. So i'm gonna have to watch everything again. That's a problem with binging. All right you start bingeing all these things and then you're done within six minutes and that's four years for it to come out again. Billy's soon to be watching. An odd amount of movies has becoming a father like all of a sudden. You have all this time to watch movies. It's the opposite of that. It's like i'm up at these strange times. And i have to be up for like periods of these kids. Eat every two hours now right. I don't have time to do anything. That's like you wake them up. And then you start feeding them in. The feeding process takes like forty to forty five minutes and then they have to eat two hours after when they started. So you'll have like an hour so these movies that it seems like i'm just sitting down and watching. We'll take me four days to finish some of them. I'll watch two hour movie over the span of sixteen hours and ten minutes at a time. And then i have to rewind what just happened but the naked gun. Thirty three and a third. You know how long it took me to watch that. It must have taken me. Twenty one hours watch naked gun thirty. It was not worth it. It was not worth. It was not a good movie. The worst the naked guns. They're he can thirty three and a third. The worst than naked guns. Don't think it should have been made took of eight data. Watch it. she's what did you think about tokyo drift billy. I only saw one in theaters. I saw right now not that bad. Not that bad. Wow i don't know how support wow. I don't know how surprise you guys will be by this. This is how i watch. Because of i like some action movies but mortal combat because it played stu gods to some of the things that i liked with childhood video game. This will not surprise you the way that i watched the mortal kombat movie. Which is i watched it in twenty one minute. I just kept fast. Forwarding to the fight scenes like. I don't care about the dialogue. I don't care about and the and the fight scenes are amazing. They're they're amazing. But i don't need anything else. Just give me just inject into my veins fast as possible. And i think a lot of people can watch a lot of action movies this way. Just give me the scenes in mortal combat where you're having amazing cinematography around the fight scenes watched it and twenty one minutes just went through six fight scenes. Got him as fast as i could. Don't you care about the plot though between combat mean imagine just going to the fight scenes of rocky. I mean you'll miss everything the lot. Is there any reason that you can't name an action movie. Not from the nineteen seventies. I mean have. They made any. I mean fast and furious. I guess but i'm not a big fan. And that's billy's department. So i just give you rocky. O'brien we're talking about cobra and rocky point bracing.

"Good morning boomer. How're you you don't want. I'm doing great g. You know my wasp ping last night. I always talked about six weeks. Felt that boy. I'll tell you how you play terrible. Often you the reason for the loss. Yeah i would say yeah. I mean you know. we're a team. we're a team. That's the way it goes but we're not a team like the islanders that's for sure holy mackerel. I mean they go down there and they just absolutely. And i wouldn't say that they stole a normal. You say they would steal game would go. Let me go in and let me say we can get a team that's flat and let's let's steal game wasn't a stolen game last night. That was a shutdown game last night or yesterday afternoon. That's exactly what that was and mathew barzal continues hot. And what a feed for his goal yesterday. And the way the redeploy stamkos stroz the puck to the middle of the ice inexplicably trying to get off the ice embar zelda's an unbelievable job. I mean you got a guy draped all over you and you got the best goaltender in the world. He opens up the five hole and boom goal. And next thing you know. The islanders are often running and it was It was really it was masterful. It was it was a great game plan. They play to a t. They played physical. And by the way tampa bay is physical as well. They'll come out hard in game two tomorrow night. There's no question about that. This game is this series is just getting started. But that was that was a great great executed game by barry trotz and his islanders. They were all over the tampa bay lightning and the other thing too is. They had more shots on goal than the lightning did. Which is like you. Don't expect that to happen. And then when you look always look at time of ice you look at the balance that the islanders have from top to bottom and that means that everybody on that bench. That means that everybody. That's in that uniform. Whether you're on defense where offense. A little bit different on defense because you've got no adoption. He's a rookie. Said he didn't play quite as much and then any green doesn't play as much as the other guys but after that everybody else is pretty much balanced route. The lineup means everybody has skin in the game. You know there's nobody sitting on their ass not playing and that's the beauty of rolling four line hockey and keeping guys fresh and a guy like bars l. Instead of playing twenty one minutes if he plays fifteen minutes you can see..

"But you'd still find the chicago bull stuff everywhere. And i think that that's less so today. Like i think if you ask you know your average kid on the street in kinshasa or or in johannesburg like who is michael jordan. They'd be like. I'm not really sure but i know who kobe. Bryant is right like they don't relevant forever and manchester united is trading on the idea that they don't need to spend money but they're going to stay relevant. It's a it's a faulty proposition. Shall we move onto actual soccer here stateside mark. I love actual soccer matt. I'm a huge fan of actual soccer listeners. This sunday at rio tinto stadium the colorado rapids were victorious for the first time in twenty one twenty twenty one defeating bank right caps f c by a score of one snell mark sam. Vines was back in the starting eleven loss. Boubacar was back on the bench in any case both of those coming off of hamstring injuries and were available for selection that move kellyn acosta back into the midfield and that made the rapids look like a completely different team in possession mark. We talked last week about how robin fraser was looking for. Response especially when the team was in possession given how poor they were in the second half in possession against austin. Fcc and the team comes out there much sharper on the ball building out back. Calendar costs may create it It was much more fluid in the midfield anywhere. Able to play out of the press and then move forward. Which is something. I was really curious about giving that vancouver came out in a four three three and the rapids had the best chances in the opening. Fifteen minutes. Mark three opportunities for andre shinyashiki. Almost all of them right outside the six yard box in his little office there on his right side of the any couldn't convert. I need them so unfortunate. Really really poor. Finishing in the case of she she keeps the worst of them for me. Mark coming in the twenty first minute when he has a knockdown header after barbosa combines combine on the left side of the field and then just moments later. Marvin couvert goes on the counter-attack. They were very very direct throughout this game. And they give up the ball and yarborough has ball and then he tries to pass the ball to. Danny wilson makes terrible pass. Mark goes straight to saito. We talked about being a little bit of an unknown quantity. He cuts inside. Danny wilson's able to backtrack get to the goal line. "Twenty one minutes after the hour. It's it's been one of those days. You know when you hear that story of jamal. Murray and the situation for the nuggets. It's kind of a rough go. And of course just like at the rockies are three and seven. It's kinda is kinda sad day here why we gotta bring drew craftsman. Dnv araki's anders dot always mr positively. But he makes me feel better when we talk to him drew. How are you my friend doing. Okay i hope. I can live up to that brady a tough day man and i know you of course pay attention to all sports specifically hit the rockies. But it's a rough go when you see any player you know. We're talking about scott oberglas week or two weeks ago and you see any player. Go down for the season no matter when no matter. What kind of expectations are on a team. It's it's tough for fans. Yeah it just. It sucks nobody. Nobody comes to the sports experience for that right like we all want to see the best against the best. That's what we're here to do. And we want to see that competition and particularly the way like the rest of the nba world was reaching out was really gentle. Moving and interesting interesting guys be like. Yeah we know this. You know this might mean that. We've got a better chance to beat the nuggets. But that was not there. I thought right. And i thought that was very telling. I thought that was really cool. And yeah it just. It's brutal for for all the vitriolic and and anger. That oftentimes goes into sports when someone gets hurt through no fault of their own and they were playing great and had all this opportunity in front of them. And then something like that happens. He just very humanizing. Very humbling for all of us to remember that There are more important things in the outcomes of of the games at the end of the day. and you just want to see that young man get back on his feet as soon as he can and get back to doing what he loves to do. Know well said man. I mean i think on that side of it when it comes down to like you said it's important to remember. It's it's about other things too when a guy goes down like that that's their job. I mean that's their job. That's what they do every day and now they're told. Are you gotta take a long break from doing that. That's tough mentally for a person to go through. That's tough for the people surrounding him. So that's that's tough but we'll be we'll be we'll be checking out. Hopefully he can get back sometime within the next season early for this nuggets team and we'll go from there drew said..

"He work with them. Yeah i mean. He initially received a lot of support from local politicians. You know they. The state legislature granted him these additional emergency powers at the beginning of the pandemic because everybody realized that the situation was so dire and he needed to take sweeping executive actions in order to handle it like Phil described like that patients has kind of war as the pandemic has gone. Legislators you know started asking in last summer for like basic data like how many people had died in nursing homes and basically were stonewalled. And that's created tension. And you know really snowballed like i said in the last few weeks We're seeing all different kinds of things in consideration from removing those emergency powers to some really progressive politicians and people on the right actually are now calling for impeachment or his resignation. So we've seen that. That relationship really has strained. And what about governor newsom. How has his relationship. With elected officials change from beginning to now it was was pretty rosy at the beginning and especially with local health officials and local county officials that kennedy began to deteriorate as time went on the new administration was accused of having kind of a message about what they wanted. not consulting with local health officials or a local politicians when they implemented new policies. Such is kind of like a tiered system went some restrictions can be lifted. There were plans about the vaccine. Roll out that Some people some of the local officials said they weren't consulted with on the legislative side. The biggest criticism has been some of the contract that have gone out basically. We've been spending billions of dollars for p. p. e. and Other measures on the criticism is that he's done no bid contracts there's been questions raised about If some of these companies have prior relationships with them more had supported him politically But that has not been a a serious back in new york. I don't think it's been kind of a little bubbling below the surface a little more from the legislative point of view with local governments. It it's been a big problem. Can you tell us about the now infamous french laundry restaurant incident and why people were so angry. Yeah this is how this happened. In november and newsom was caught basically by patron. There snapped a picture of him dining with friends at the french laundry. Which is a very posh restaurant in the napa valley. And this was at the same time he was urging californians not to gather with in big groups not to congregate with people outside their home and so It was kinda tinderbox. People got really upset. Because i mean you know. We'd been in lockdown since march. Here here was to governor not wearing a mask with his friends. Hobnobbing in this swanky Restaurant and even. Though i mean i guess under the rules in napa at the time you could dine outside restaurants but it was just seen as a total hypocritical. Move on his part and he's still really hasn't recovered from that and that that added fuel to this budding. Recall effort out here Which looks like it's going to qualify for the ballot yet. Can you explain what this recall. Effort means yeah so This began last june and to recall the statewide politician in california. You need to get Just under one point five million signatures and the proponents say they have over that already. We don't know if those are ballots signatures. They have to be from california voters so it has to go through kind of check process but what. It looks like it's going to happen. Is this It looks like it will qualify and come october november There will be a recall election a special election with two questions. One should gavin newsom be recalled and if he is recalled. Who would you like to replace him. And there'd be a slate of candidates the people could choose from now feel pretty much. Every california governor in recent history has faced an attempted recall. So i mean is this just par for the course in california or you think based on your reporting that actually have teeth. You're right. I mean i think every year for the past fifty years faced recalled gavin newsom himself as v. Six different is a sixth attempt to recall. I mean the people were trying to recall him like the minute he got into office. This is unique because we've always been one california governor who's been recalled in the history of the state that was davis back in two thousand and three and that's when we were having rolling blackouts. That's when after the dot com bust of we're slashing your state budget. He had raised the car tax. So kind of like a whole host of things led to his demise. And that's when Famously arnold schwarzenegger gin and was elected to terms as california's governor governor cuomo is clearly facing political. Backlash as we've been saying but have these. Recent controversies changed how the public generally views him. It still feels very early to kind of weigh in on that you know there were was a polling. That came out. Recently that showed a slight dip in popularity since controversy bubbled up about this nursing home situation but still that's way higher than his approval was pre pandemic times so it still feels very soon to try to see. You know exactly how this is going to sway the larger public opinion on somebody. Who's had you know who's been governor for so long and has a deep political history in new york state and going back to his relationship with elected officials there have been some recent. Tiff says you've mentioned with other politicians in the state. Can you tell us what has happened between governor and elected officials and what the response has been sure. I mean the height of this has sort of expanded out of a situation with one state assembly member named ron. Kim who represents district in queens. Now he has been critical of how the governor is handled the situation specifically nursing homes for the entire pandemic the entire course of the pandemic he now chairs the aging committee this assemblyman but his own uncle died in flushing In a flushing nursing home from covid a last spring and you know assembly member. Kim spoke to reporters new york post reporter about a private conversation. That cuomo's top. Aides had with democratic lawmakers and after that story ran that described his private conversation. Kim came out came out and said that he had received threatening phone call from governor cuomo where he felt physically. He was physically endanger. His wife was scared he said and then the governor during public press conference spent twenty one minutes of it berating. This assembly member. That i think kind of you know i think cuomo calculation was that people would side with him but really caused you know this bubbling up of all kinds of stories about times that reporters and you know political activists and many many people receiving calls from either promo directly or from his staff members. You know that were bullying and you know new york city mayor. Bill de blasio came out in favor of ron cam and said you know many people in new york have gotten these phone calls and it was sort of this open secret. That many people in politics were aware of but hadn't really been reported on the record. There was some reporting around threatening phone calls During the last election cycle for political opponents but it seems like sort of that fear that had existed of publicly. Speaking against the governor kind of dissipated with ron kim coming forward and in the wake of that we've been seen these two women step forward and described sexual harassment in his office and gwen with governor. Newsom we're we're seeing this push to recall him. Are we seeing any of that here. In new york. That also feels very early. There are members. I mean the republican party. Yes sir is calling for his steps towards his impeachment or his resignation and there is a faction of the left more progressive younger lawmakers. Who are have been more willing to criticize the governor. Also calling for that whether or not it. Sort of passes into the s. More moderate centrist democrats that are the majority control of both houses in the new york legislature. That is still you know still remains to be seen. We've been talking to fill well on. He's a staff writer for the l. A. times covering gavin newsom and california politics and gwen hogan a reporter for wnyc and gothamist gwen ville thank.

"I mean I have no I have no issues with the rookie running around and you know trying to do everything of course is going to make a couple of mistakes here and there but he took you know, I think you saved I think you had a couple of like play saving whatever I think it was offensive rebound, you know a couple of days for the ball like I'm fine with him. I mean, he's he's going to do rookie things. I'm holding off. Over the place everywhere. Holy Huntington whenever he does a Johnny get some more minutes. So I mean no doubt on these on these jobs such a step box and and stuff and everytime. I look up. He literally just Falls like stripped-down sideways onto the ground. Yeah, and they took the players screaming. Are you? All right? All right. All right Lee like with no fans in the stands. I mean, we already know how many minutes he got like for the n103 put in he stands around it's way too much on offense and they do not pass him the ball. They I mean they don't lie to look at them. They don't even look at them. Tatum's dribbling at him and his job Around give it like they will not he goes minutes without touching the ball. It's it's amazing and he and he does just kind of go and run and hide in the corner. Maybe that's the point. Maybe he's their only choice, but I'd love to see him run around some screens and get free a little bit there. It's just he just stands there and waits the whole time and they never give him the ball will grant talked about it what what last night actually at least said how he's getting comfortable. You can tell he's a bit more comfortable compared to what we saw. I don't know like a month ago, but he still has to get comfortable to the NBA speed, you know, so I think a lot of that is him getting, you know, given the sets down run the plays and stuff like that..

"Off in other words. The radio thing didn't necessarily feel like work but the tv thing did. And i can attest to that. And so you know doug a cat would be like oh. I don't have tv today. I have the day off but yet they're saying that in a commercial break while we're doing the show and what that speaks to is how much we just enjoy sitting around and be asking like this. You know what you. And i are doing right now. I can do this. If i didn't have a call coming up in what we talked about at the beginning and i have twenty seven minutes i would. I could sit here and do this for two hours. I did a podcast last week with action jackson our new producer Who is. I'm a huge fan of and i i hesitate to give him my endorsement because i know for the people who hate me now. They will hate him by proxy. But i'm a big fan of his. And i think he could be with us For a good long while but we i. I went for three hours. Twenty one minutes. Three hour i just got done doing in. Jackson is really kind of you know he's in it. Don't get me wrong but the you know if it's a pie chart i'm ninety five percent of the pie and he's five percent so i love just having conversations with people. It's what i love doing. I can do if you like. Hey what can we do three hours. Not that you would ever ask that but if you ask that i'd be like sure if somebody said to me doug hey today we need you guys for charity to go from seven. Am to five pm. Doug would have a coronary. But there's no doubt in my mind we could do it and do it. Pretty effortlessly i love just be asking and i love getting people's different perspectives to so whether so yeah. We haven't had for the most part real cardinal season since this all started up and we kinda had that shell of a blues playoff series. And now you've got a few games back. I don't really feel like it's impacted what we do and what i do on the podcast and i know it really hasn't for what you do as it may be would if if we were at a different place or doing a different kind of thing whether it be in television radio and that's because of what you said at the outset which is which is chemistry and just people getting together and be essen and you don't necessarily need to break down the blues comeback win over the sharks last night to fill segment. You know what i mean. Yeah one hundred percent and dan actually with Scoops with danny mac. The tv series which i had episode two on sunday night. You know it's not game driven a result driven it's having great conversations with people and you know when you're gonna have great conversations with people and sometimes when there isn't a game to talk about i find the conversations even better yep. I agree with you on that as well. I love it man. And and you and i were saying this before we got started of how you doing the radio show on comrex and i've been doing that for my house.

Missions to Mars, the Moon and Beyond Await Earth in 2021

"He may have been asked to have that. Removed nasa net nasa gets pumped for twenty twenty one with hype video full of moon dreams and mars. Hope nasr's big plans for the year but doing space is still pretty hard. Last year was a big one for space missions. We got We got man missions back to the international space station. After many years of the shuttle being retired it's amazing. How long we relied on the russians. Now we don't have to write them a check but the russians are still lifting astronauts. The iss many most of them are from other countries. Now the space agency released a video previewing hyping. His plans for the new year and the moon is the star of the show. Why are we going back to the moon. Really you know honestly is that. Make any sense for some of you. Don't think we went to the moon begin with i think they ought to land on one of those missions close to a nasa landing site from the early days in. Show us some of that stuff. Did they left while the video. Swallow hope and optimism We know that the space launch system has delays is largely because of coronavirus pandemic parts parts parts and parts and parts and parts. I'm having issues getting some stuff here too that i need because there's no parts the first big test of the orion spacecraft is in the works for twenty twenty one with artists one. But we'll have to wait and see if the unscrewed mission able to launch this year after all and Of course the presser veers roller is set for a landing on mars on february tnt. So we got that to look forward to the twenty one minutes of how or whatever it's called If all goes well mark the start of a long range plan to bring martian rock samples back to earth and of course the much much delayed. Netflix Misses Q3 Subscriber Forecast, Stock Falls

"In the past twelve months shares of Netflix are up more than two hundred percent so. Forgive me for not wringing my hands over the fact that shares of Netflix are down about six percent. This morning third quarter profits came in lower than expected. That said. Weakest. Subscriber growth in four years. That's I don't know. It doesn't seem like something to worry a lot about, but it certainly is noteworthy. Actually, think it's something that's kind of to be expected. So there's something called the pull forward effect, which is there's rapid growth in the first half of the year. So then the dot com steals, the subscribers would have happened in the back half of the year. So they added two point, two, million new subscribers, which is less than the three point three, million predicted. By. In total for the year, they added over twenty six million customers, which is more than they did of all of last year. So through the first nine months of twenty, twenty they've. got a point, one million members and they're on pace to add thirty, four, million users in two, thousand twenty, which will be their strongest year of growth. Aber so even though this quarter is the lowest number. Since two thousand fifteen if you kind of zoom out look at the big picture, they're going to to almost two hundred million customers in total, which if you're going to compare it to Disney sixty point, five, million subscribers who has about thirty million. So it's still by and large the most popular. Streaming site. Did Not get a chance to listen to the conference call. Do you know the extent to which management game guidance on production schedule because that's certainly we certainly seen that in the traditional movie? Industry, of Television as well to a lesser degree, but we've seen a lot of movies just stopped production altogether. Did they give any guidance on their own pipeline? They did. So they finish fifty projects since the initial shutdown and they will release more programs next year in twenty twenty, one minute didn't twenty twenty. They are returning to production mainly in Europe and in Asia not as much. So in the US, they're currently filming season for of Stranger things they're filming red notice which I don't know if that's based on the book by Bill. Browder. But if it is, I'm excited to watch it. They're filming season two of the witcher. So they seem that they are both finishing filming finishing production and filming and re ramping filming outside of the US. One of the things I did know Yeah. The headline is a subscriber growth in four years their subscriber growth in the Asia Pacific region was really strong this last quarter. Yeah, it was the largest contributor to paid membership growth. So it was forty six percent of the global paid net ads. So I think that that's an interesting kind of problem or gift that they have is they now have such a global subscriber base. So you have to see shows that are in English, and then you have to see shows that are in different languages and you have to see show that widely appeal like I don't know if you watched Indian matchmaking but that was an interesting show that appealed to. I think you know I'm not watching a match making show I heard a plus reviews my sister really liked it. But I think that that's an interesting kind of experiment and you see that it was very popular in India but it was also super popular in the US trying to figure out how they can get shows and movies that have that wide appeal while also focusing on those knee shows as well that do really well like the umbrella academy or the Social Dilemma the documentary that came out.

A closer look at the Bose 700 noise-cancelling headphones

"You always bring us such fun stuff. What are you? Yeah. Well, this might be something for you. Okay. Now, this is a high end gadget. So I was invited as you look at the price and say, this is something for Leo. No, I looked at what it does. Okay. Good. I look at it what it does. Okay. So it was a Bose event. No, it's going to be another. Maybe another noise reduction headphone while it was except it was very funny because after the demo before the demo they have a little area with food, and I set next to this gentleman, I said, are you hit a see the bows, and he said, no, I'm the head engineer for the product that you're seeing? So what it was. He was saying all the time, we've been concentrating on reducing the noise four the person wearing the headphones the wireless. Right. But we haven't thought till now reduced the noise that's going to go into the phone call. He's making or if he's doing instructions to his virtual assistant. Oh, so this new headset has eight microphones for them for noise. That's a round. You two of them for noise. That is directed toward the Mike's you're going to speak in and two more that can shift function depending on with noises worst. So you still get the traditional noise cancelling the jet engine. Whatever exactly exactly people sitting next to, you won't hear echo talking to you. Well. It's better than that. So he says, let's call somebody, it's a noisy Starbucks so they call somebody and it's a Bose guy. Yes. And then he says, you know, if you want to go to the window, and you'll see a guy in the back waving. That's where he is. He's in that I don't know how they found the hotel with the Starbucks across the street where you could look into window is that guy has to sit. For somebody to call. Yeah. Joe Joe's like the low. Man of the totem pole Joe. I got a great assignment for you. We're gonna call you. A report is going to call you every twenty one minutes. Okay. You have to tend to be excited to talk to them. Yeah. So he I talked through the Bose QC thirty five to which is their latest model. Okay. And, and you can hear a lot of the noise. Yes, then he shifts over because it's pad to compare the two different bluetooth, vices. Then you talked to him over the bow seven hundred and it's quiet. I would say their noise is about seventy five to eighty percents, redo we've seen noise canceling headsets for phone used a lot of truckers use the blue parrot for instance. Yes. Very good job. So this is for somebody who wants to be listening to music, obviously, not while you're driving. But, but also wants to use it as a as a headset for phone. Exactly. Yeah. Or what talking to your virtual assistant, for example, in another room.

"Kevin Durant thrown out tonight. Double tees both of them tapped pretty quick by a rough with big ears because he teed him up. He walked to the scores table. Kevin had words he looks back. And Kevin intently listens. To those words double tabs later. Durant? Only played twenty one minutes. He was phenomenal in the game. I mean, exquisite basketball and had twenty one points in limited action. And by the time he was thrown out. He was so good that when he was thrown out. The game was already decided the warriors are wiping the floor with the nuggets the nuggets are not a playoff threat. And now with this win tonight. The warriors have pretty much eliminated the idea of any games one two or seven it any building not called oracle. So sports fans use a certain word. That's a no no with them five. That's right. That's right crash. Davis suffered through this one time. So did Kevin Durant. And I don't get it.

"Started the latest round of trade talks with a phone call involving Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin US Trade Representative Robert lighthizer in Chinese Vice Premier Li he the three senior officials discussed Chinese purchases of agricultural products and changes to fundamental Chinese economic policies during the phone call. So it's begun. The trade has begun in Wall Street likes it. Everything is green the s&p is up seventeen and a quarter points this morning. Because you know, when when he's done it twice in a in a segment coming up from area. Let's start at the beginning twenty one minutes ago, despite the large caravans that were forming heading to our country. People have not been able to get through our newly built walls, makeshift, walls and fences or border patrol officers and military, they're now saying Mexico, we're going back to their original countries ice border patrol in the military got a fantastic job of securing our southern border. A great wall would however be far easier less expensive solution. He's right have been writing since two thousand and five we've already built large new section than fully renovated others making them like new the Democrats, however for strictly political reasons, he's right. And because they have been pulled so far to the left. He is correct. Do not want border security is absolutely one thousand percent on the Mark. They want open borders. For anyone to come in. It's right. This brings large-scale crime and disease. It also brings lots of friends.
