Missions to Mars, the Moon and Beyond Await Earth in 2021
"He may have been asked to have that. Removed nasa net nasa gets pumped for twenty twenty one with hype video full of moon dreams and mars. Hope nasr's big plans for the year but doing space is still pretty hard. Last year was a big one for space missions. We got We got man missions back to the international space station. After many years of the shuttle being retired it's amazing. How long we relied on the russians. Now we don't have to write them a check but the russians are still lifting astronauts. The iss many most of them are from other countries. Now the space agency released a video previewing hyping. His plans for the new year and the moon is the star of the show. Why are we going back to the moon. Really you know honestly is that. Make any sense for some of you. Don't think we went to the moon begin with i think they ought to land on one of those missions close to a nasa landing site from the early days in. Show us some of that stuff. Did they left while the video. Swallow hope and optimism We know that the space launch system has delays is largely because of coronavirus pandemic parts parts parts and parts and parts and parts. I'm having issues getting some stuff here too that i need because there's no parts the first big test of the orion spacecraft is in the works for twenty twenty one with artists one. But we'll have to wait and see if the unscrewed mission able to launch this year after all and Of course the presser veers roller is set for a landing on mars on february tnt. So we got that to look forward to the twenty one minutes of how or whatever it's called If all goes well mark the start of a long range plan to bring martian rock samples back to earth and of course the much much delayed. James webb space telescope is still on the calendar for an october thirty first launch date. We spent so much money on the james webb space telescope. I just everyone will probably be holding their breath all the way to or visit with this thing and at the same time. The hubble is well you know well at its end of life you know well close to its end of life issues and we got a lot of the hubble is operating in your systems have died and there's no way to go and repair it so I wonder what they're gonna would have to do. If the james webb space telescope had issues once they launched but so
Netflix Misses Q3 Subscriber Forecast, Stock Falls
"In the past twelve months shares of Netflix are up more than two hundred percent so. Forgive me for not wringing my hands over the fact that shares of Netflix are down about six percent. This morning third quarter profits came in lower than expected. That said. Weakest. Subscriber growth in four years. That's I don't know. It doesn't seem like something to worry a lot about, but it certainly is noteworthy. Actually, think it's something that's kind of to be expected. So there's something called the pull forward effect, which is there's rapid growth in the first half of the year. So then the dot com steals, the subscribers would have happened in the back half of the year. So they added two point, two, million new subscribers, which is less than the three point three, million predicted. By. In total for the year, they added over twenty six million customers, which is more than they did of all of last year. So through the first nine months of twenty, twenty they've. got a point, one million members and they're on pace to add thirty, four, million users in two, thousand twenty, which will be their strongest year of growth. Aber so even though this quarter is the lowest number. Since two thousand fifteen if you kind of zoom out look at the big picture, they're going to to almost two hundred million customers in total, which if you're going to compare it to Disney sixty point, five, million subscribers who has about thirty million. So it's still by and large the most popular. Streaming site. Did Not get a chance to listen to the conference call. Do you know the extent to which management game guidance on production schedule because that's certainly we certainly seen that in the traditional movie? Industry, of Television as well to a lesser degree, but we've seen a lot of movies just stopped production altogether. Did they give any guidance on their own pipeline? They did. So they finish fifty projects since the initial shutdown and they will release more programs next year in twenty twenty, one minute didn't twenty twenty. They are returning to production mainly in Europe and in Asia not as much. So in the US, they're currently filming season for of Stranger things they're filming red notice which I don't know if that's based on the book by Bill. Browder. But if it is, I'm excited to watch it. They're filming season two of the witcher. So they seem that they are both finishing filming finishing production and filming and re ramping filming outside of the US. One of the things I did know Yeah. The headline is a subscriber growth in four years their subscriber growth in the Asia Pacific region was really strong this last quarter. Yeah, it was the largest contributor to paid membership growth. So it was forty six percent of the global paid net ads. So I think that that's an interesting kind of problem or gift that they have is they now have such a global subscriber base. So you have to see shows that are in English, and then you have to see shows that are in different languages and you have to see show that widely appeal like I don't know if you watched Indian matchmaking but that was an interesting show that appealed to. I think you know I'm not watching a match making show I heard a plus reviews my sister really liked it. But I think that that's an interesting kind of experiment and you see that it was very popular in India but it was also super popular in the US trying to figure out how they can get shows and movies that have that wide appeal while also focusing on those knee shows as well that do really well like the umbrella academy or the Social Dilemma the documentary that came out.

E. R. N. LBJ use the iron fist with their caucus in order to get good progressive positive legislation while Reagan used it to get legislation done to initiate trickle down economics and lower taxes and things like that at the time move people didn't remember nineteen twenty they remember the last time the president did the same thing Warren Harding did this back in nineteen twenty and and they didn't realize it was going to lead to an economic disaster so it helped a lot of people went along with it but Reagan I would say Reagan was using that power using the force as it were for a negative as trump is doing he's using and he's using that power is using the force as a negative so what I want in the White House next January twentieth and in the house of representatives and the Senate if we can take all three of those entities to two ranches three three entities is somebody who is willing to use power the way Donald Trump has been using power within the caucus somebody who's willing to reward the good people and punish the bad people as it were not obviously I'm using my own subjective definitions of that so I want somebody in the rip in the demo I'm gone I will vote for some in the democratic primary who I think is an absolute hard **** and believes what they're saying and is going to fight it to the very end because Donald Trump has demonstrated that if you do that you can go a hell of a long way now he's gone a long way you know in the criminal direction Franklin Roosevelt he ate his the modern middle class the United States hadn't had a middle class.

"At least three percent in four poles and have at least one hundred and sixty five thousand individual donors to get in the Sacramento San Joaquin River delta has a problem some of its islands are sinking on some islands the land within the levees is now below sea level Matt conned off is a professor of environmental planning at UC Berkeley and he says the history of some of the levee surrounding these islands go back to the gold rush era there was a huge demand for for food and so these farmers began farming these very organic rich soils in the Sacramento delta and they started out just building small levies to prevent these lands from being flooded every year and as the soils are exposed to the the atmosphere the organic material oxidizes and then the dust this result that that is leftover gets blown away by the wind and gradually the land surface drops in drops in drops and then they have to keep building the levees up a bit higher and higher and higher to keep the keep the water out and we wind up with many of these islands are twenty feet below sea level so the blown away they're just blown away and I know that's not something so landowners have mostly been trying to focus on rebuilding and shoring up levees to try to deal with the situation but professor Connell says that the department of water resources is now trying a different approach flooding some islands to recreate them in the marshland they were before people even settle settled there you are restoring the wetland function with in the the the levees and allowing these well implants to build up the ground surface and they can grow as much as a couple of inches a year. doesn't sound like much but over time we could start building up the surface of the land within these so called islands so that they start to approach the sea level and he says if more isn't done it could lead to disaster if we were to have an earthquake that was centered in the Central Valley. we would have massive failures of these levees all throughout the delta and there's over a thousand miles of levees in the delta that means that you couldn't see salt water rushing in from the ocean and that could not only hurt the environment but it could ruin drinking water for much of the East Bay Central Valley and southern California they all depend on the delta for water for drinking water and then there's always that concerned about how strong are the levees throughout northern California including the delta and brighter killer with this topic's older that issue I just have to make a wetlands again I guess all right we are going to head out to the rose right secularize the other thing is rolling on a Tuesday morning it's still rolling very slow for super commuters headed westbound toward the bay area west on I eighty just a west of bacula Terry Glenn road is still shut down now looks like the the shut down the roadway on both sides an accident there on the westbound side and has the one vehicle on fire now there is the also the big concern is if there's a settling tank inside that vehicle and it could explode on the westbound side traffic is backed up all the way to I five oh five it's also backing up the eastbound side now all the way into Fairfield we don't have an estimated time of getting that all re open now if you're on west on I eighty and you want to get all the way around that take leisure town road and that becomes vanden wrote of in road before verdant road rather beyond and then eventually the man well campus parkway and that put you on on I eighty on the other side of this issue and we don't have an estimated time of getting that Reelfoot otherwise freeways around Sacramento not much out of the ordinary really AT looks good all the way in from Roosevelt nine minutes gets you to the cap cities but another nine on the cap city freeway get to the downtown maybe coming in from elk Grove on a high five that's a fifteen minute drive in on ninety nine twenty one minutes to do it fifty from Folsom is a twenty one minute drive a little heavy traffic now developing between watching the house from woodland on I five it's a twenty one minute trip in sixteen of coming in from Davis he's got IT across the causeway at the Roseville autumn all thank re certified pre owned vehicles.

A closer look at the Bose 700 noise-cancelling headphones
"You always bring us such fun stuff. What are you? Yeah. Well, this might be something for you. Okay. Now, this is a high end gadget. So I was invited as you look at the price and say, this is something for Leo. No, I looked at what it does. Okay. Good. I look at it what it does. Okay. So it was a Bose event. No, it's going to be another. Maybe another noise reduction headphone while it was except it was very funny because after the demo before the demo they have a little area with food, and I set next to this gentleman, I said, are you hit a see the bows, and he said, no, I'm the head engineer for the product that you're seeing? So what it was. He was saying all the time, we've been concentrating on reducing the noise four the person wearing the headphones the wireless. Right. But we haven't thought till now reduced the noise that's going to go into the phone call. He's making or if he's doing instructions to his virtual assistant. Oh, so this new headset has eight microphones for them for noise. That's a round. You two of them for noise. That is directed toward the Mike's you're going to speak in and two more that can shift function depending on with noises worst. So you still get the traditional noise cancelling the jet engine. Whatever exactly exactly people sitting next to, you won't hear echo talking to you. Well. It's better than that. So he says, let's call somebody, it's a noisy Starbucks so they call somebody and it's a Bose guy. Yes. And then he says, you know, if you want to go to the window, and you'll see a guy in the back waving. That's where he is. He's in that I don't know how they found the hotel with the Starbucks across the street where you could look into window is that guy has to sit. For somebody to call. Yeah. Joe Joe's like the low. Man of the totem pole Joe. I got a great assignment for you. We're gonna call you. A report is going to call you every twenty one minutes. Okay. You have to tend to be excited to talk to them. Yeah. So he I talked through the Bose QC thirty five to which is their latest model. Okay. And, and you can hear a lot of the noise. Yes, then he shifts over because it's pad to compare the two different bluetooth, vices. Then you talked to him over the bow seven hundred and it's quiet. I would say their noise is about seventy five to eighty percents, redo we've seen noise canceling headsets for phone used a lot of truckers use the blue parrot for instance. Yes. Very good job. So this is for somebody who wants to be listening to music, obviously, not while you're driving. But, but also wants to use it as a as a headset for phone. Exactly. Yeah. Or what talking to your virtual assistant, for example, in another room.
